Aug. 6th – Aug. 9th

Arrest


Occurred 9:57 PM (8/06) – Beacon St.


While patrolling, officers approached a vehicle that had been involved in a motor vehicle accident. The driver of the vehicle informed officers that a vehicle with a Pennsylvania license plate struck her from behind and fled. After a brief search, officers subsequently located the other driver involved. Based on officer’s observations of the driver’s driving habits and intoxicated appearance, he was subsequently placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.


Larceny


Occurred between 8:30 PM (8/06) and 9:00 AM (8/07) – Egmont St.


Police responded to a report of a larceny. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated that her bike had been stolen from the front hallway of her building. The bike is described as a purple Spirit female’s mountain bike valued at $130. The victim does not know of anyone who would have wanted to steal her bike. Police are following up on the case.


Occurred between 5:00 PM (8/06) and 10:00 AM (8/07) – Harvard St.


Police responded to a report of a larceny. The victim stated that while her bike was locked to a bike rack, an unknown suspect stole several parts from her bike. Parts reported stolen include the handle bar, light on the handle bar, shifter, brakes, and brake cables. Police are following up on the case.


Occurred between 1:30 PM (8/06) and 3:30 PM (8/07) – Lawton St. / Thorndike St.


Police responded to a report of a larceny. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated that when she went to a Laundromat earlier that day she left her purse unattended for a short period of time. When she returned, she discovered her purse missing which contained credits cards, $40 in cash, and her Mass. driver’s license. Police are following up on the case.


Occurred 12:51 PM (8/08) – Harvard St.


Police responded to a report of a shoplifter fleeing. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting party, an employee of the store, who stated that another employee saw the suspect take two stacks of woman’s shirts and put them into a Foot Locker bag that he was carrying. When the suspect was confronted by an employee, he dropped half of the shirts and fled the store. The suspect is described as a 6'4" black male with a slim build, short hair, and a light thin beard. Officers were unable to locate the suspect but will be conducting a follow up investigation.


Burglary


Occurred between 12:01 AM and 6:30 AM (8/07) – Gerry Rd.


Police responded to a report of a burglary. The victim stated that while she and her husband were asleep, an unknown person entered her apartment through a window in the living room. Items reported missing include a Dell laptop, Verizon cell phone, and handbag containing credit cards, $40 in cash, personal papers, and a driver’s license. Police are following up on the case.


Occurred between 11:00 PM (8/08) and 8:30 AM (8/09) – Jamaica Rd.


Police responded to a report of a burglary. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting parties who stated that when they woke up in the morning, they discovered items in their home had been disturbed and the front door partly opened. The victims reported several items missing including An Apple IMAC desktop computer, keyboard, and mouse, jewelry, and personal checks. Police are following up on the case.


Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle


Occurred between 10:30 PM (8/03) and 6:30 AM (8/04) – Princeton Rd.


Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering and larceny from a motor vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated that his car had been broken into a week prior while parked in his driveway. The victim reported a black Kenneth Cole canvas bag missing from his vehicle which contained two checkbooks, keys, and personal papers. Police are following up on the case.
