November 16th Police Reports

Arrest

  • Occurred at 3:01AM (11/16)- 0 Ashville Road

Neil Lynch, 22 yrs, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Class D Substance (Marijuana), Possession of a Class B Substance (Cocaine), and a Default Warrant.

Police on patrol witnessed a vehicle with several occupants idling in Asheville Street Parking lot; police approached the vehicle where they witnessed the occupants making furtive and aggressive fidgeting motions. A check of the vehicle revealed a bag of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana in addition to a bag of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. The driver of the vehicle claimed possession of the two bags and all occupants denied knowledge of the drugs. The driver was subsequently arrested.

Summons

  • Occurred at 12:20AM (11/16) - Dexter Park

Police on detail at Dexter Park were informed by Security that a resident had complained of an ongoing party on third floor. Police heard loud music and after several attempts were finally greeted at the door and after speaking with the resident police were able to witness the inside of the apartment which consisted of about 20 guests, police informed the resident he would be summonsed to court for Disturbing the Peace.

  • Occurred at 1:36AM (11/16) - 1223 Beacon Street

Police witnessed a vehicle idling on the street for about 10 minutes and after officers ran a registry check it was revealed that the vehicles insurance had been revoked.

The driver was informed that he would be summonsed to court for Operating after Revoked Insurance and operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle.

  • Occurred between 5PM and 6PM (11/16) - Harvard Street/Longwood Avenue 6210

Police on patrol pulled over a vehicle after witnessing it take an illegal left turn. Further investigation revealed that the vehicles driver was not duly licensed, the driver was informed that he would be summonsed to court for that violation.

  • Occurred at 5:07PM (11/16) - Independence/VFW

Police on patrol approached a vehicle which had been idling in the parking lot. Upon looking in the vehicle police were able see two juvenile suspects as well as a driver who appeared to be in his 30’s. Police then learned that the driver was not related to any of the juvenile occupants they were just ‘friends’, police additionally witnessed several brown bags on the floor of the car with beer inside. The juveniles were informed that they would be summonsed to court for Minor in Possession of Alcohol. The driver was informed that he would be summonsed to court for Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Shoplifting

  • Occurred at 3:32PM (11/16)-1302 Beacon Street

An employee at The Mint Julep reported that a suspect who she had previously suspected of shoplifting had left the store with two dresses with a combined value of $250; police canvassed the area looking for suspects but were met with negative results.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 5PM (10/01) and 5PM (11/09)-1357 Beacon Street

Victim reported that after losing his wallet he noticed that several checks that were in the wallet had been fraudulently cashed for a combined loss of over $1,900. This case is still under investigation.
