9/3/2015

On August 3rd, an officer was dispatched to Russell Street for a report of a past breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.  On scene, the victim reported parking his car in the driveway next to his wife’s car the night before.  The next morning, the victim noticed both vehicles contents were in disarray. The victim reported missing a small sum of loose change, a license plate and the vehicle’s owner’s manual.

On August 3rd, officers were dispatched to Commonwealth Ave. for a shoplifting in progress.  Brookline Dispatch gave the description of the suspect over the radio.  On scene, the officers observed an individual matching the description of the shoplifter at a self-serve pay station.  A store employee confirmed the individual was the male in question and stated the subject had placed multiple items into his pockets and backpack. Subsequently, the subject walked away from the kiosk without removing any of the described items out or paying for them.  Officers stopped the individual and admitted he place the store items into his backpack without paying for them.  One of the officers searched the subject’s backpack which contained the stolen items.  The subject was placed under arrest and transported to the Brookline Police Station.


On August 3rd, an officer while assigned to the Bicycle/Pedestrian Enforcement Unit, on St. Mary’s St. observed a vehicle operating the wrong direction.  The vehicle approached the driver and advised him of a reason for the stop and asked for his license and registration. The operator informed the officer that he did not have his license in his possession, but that he did have a license.  The officer returned to his cruiser and conducted a computer check on the operator which revealed his license was revoked. The subject was placed under arrest.
