Police Reports 3/24/2014

On March 24, a woman came into the Police Station to report a past breaking and entering and larceny of a vehicle. The victim stated that on Saturday March 22, her car had been parked in the Centre Street Lot and when she returned to it later in the day, a backpack with several items inside was missing.

On March 24, an officer responded to Marion St. for a report of larceny by false pretenses. The victim stated that she had received a call earlier in the day from a party she had believed to be her grandson who stated that he was in jail. The woman then spoke to the man’s supposed attorney who said that the victim should transfer bail money through MoneyGram. It was found that this was part of a Phishing-type phone scam and the matter is under investigation.
