On 4-12-13 at approximately 9:05 PM Officers responded to a residence on Summit Av for a reported breaking and entering. As officers were in route, a suspect description was given out. Upon the arrival of the officers the suspect was seen fleeing from the rear of the building in a motor vehicle. The vehicle traveled on Summit Av to Beacon Street. After the vehicle turned onto Beacon Street, in the area of 1440 Beacon Street, it struck a motor vehicle that was in traffic stopped at a red light. The victim’s vehicle sustained damage to its left side, none of the passengers were hurt. The suspect’s vehicle sustained damage to its right side and believed to have popped it’s right front tire. The suspect did not stop, and continued west bound on Beacon Street. The suspect traveled, about two blocks and tried to make a right hand turn onto Lancaster Terrace. The vehicle was unable to make the turn and crashed head on into a street pole causing major damage to the vehicle and the pole. The suspect was able to get himself from the vehicle and take off on foot. The suspect was spotted a short distance away in the rear of 1600 Beacon street. He took off running across Beacon Street through the Washington square area, he was running through the traffic and was eventually stopped in the area of Beacon Street and University road.
As a result of the investigation and from all the evidence the suspect will be charged with
Attempted Burglary (2 counts)
Operating a Motor Vehicle to Endanger
Operating a Motor Vehicle after License Revocation
Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident ( 2 counts)
Resisting Arrest
Disorderly Person
This suspect is believed to be responsible for other break and enterings and the investigation is ongoing at his time.
He should be arraigned in Brookline District Court.
