March 18th

Arrest

Occurred 1:52AM (3/18) – Beacon St./Carlton St.

Police responded to a report of a traffic crash possibly involving an intoxicated driver. When officers arrived on scene, they observed the vehicle that was parked in a meter space and had substantial front end damage. A transit police officer originally found the vehicle and had examined the scene. He stated that at this time the driver appeared to be sleeping and, upon waking, incoherent. The driver maintained his incoherent state while conversing with officers about what happened. After further investigation and due to the driver’s state, officers became concerned that he was intoxicated. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor.

Occurred 10:50AM (3/18) – 98 Crowninshield Rd.

Police responded to a report of a suspicious man walking around a neighbor’s house. Officers located the suspect riding away on a bicycle. After confirming that the suspect had been around the neighbor’s house, officers conducted a pat frisk search for weapons. Officers located four small bags containing marijuana which appeared to be for distribution. When asked, the suspect admitted to dealing marijuana and was subsequently arrested for possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute in a school zone and trespassing.

Occurred 12:38PM (3/18) – 270 Boylston St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Upon identifying the driver, it was discovered that his license was expired. The driver was arrested for being not duly licensed.

Occurred 11:40PM (3/18) – Harvard Ave./Brainerd Rd.

Police attempted to perform a traffic stop for a driving violation. The suspect failed to pull over numerous times but became stuck in traffic, at which point the pursuing officers approached the vehicle. Neither the driver nor the two passengers were wearing seatbelts. Upon identifying all occupants, officers found that one passenger had outstanding warrants. After removing the passenger due to the warrants and nervous behavior, officers observed a gun on the floor of the front passenger’s side. All occupants of the vehicle were arrested.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

Occurred between 10:00AM (3/17) and 9:35AM (3/18) – Welch Rd.

Victim reported to police that a laptop computer, a briefcase, and numerous accessories were missing from his vehicle. The victim stated that he parked his vehicle in his driveway and returned the next morning to find these items missing. Police are following up on the case.

Burglary

Occurred between 12:00PM (3/14) and 11:59AM (3/18) – Channing Rd.

Police responded to a report of a burglary. The victim stated that she had returned from a short vacation and discovered that a rear window and a back door to her home were open. Officers discovered several open drawers and numerous pieces of jewelry on the floor and bed. There were also two packages that had been delivered to the house that had been opened. Police are following up on the case.
