June 30, 2008 Police Reports

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 4:00PM (6/27) and 3:40PM (6/30) – 959 W Rox PK

Suspect broke into a motor vehicle by smashing the driver’s side front window. The car was parked in a parking space in the corner of the lot at the Putterham Library. Nothing appears to be missing.

  • Occurred between 7:00AM (5/27) and 7:00AM (6/27)- 115 Summer Road

A large tree located at Summer Road was found with a circular band of bark chiseled off almost all the way around the tree trunk at about 3 ½' to 4' high from the ground. The band was about 4” wide. There is concern that the continuation of removing the bark from the tree can ultimately kill the tree.

  • Occurred between 8:30PM (6/27) and 7:00 (6/30) – 637 Washington Street

Suspect broke a window next to the side door of a business entrance. The window is located next to the door handle but he states that nothing appears to be missing.

  • Occurred between 8:00PM (6/27) and 7:00AM (6/30) – 254-256 Tappan Street

Victim found two freshly black spray painted graffiti markings on the rear wall (west side of building) and the side wall (north side of building). Victim was advised not to remove graffiti until photos have been taken by officers.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 7:00PM (6/27) and 12:30AM (6/30) – 526 Harvard Street

Victim reports that sometime over the weekend his bike was stolen from a pole located outside 526 Harvard Street. Victim stated that he locked the bike on the pole. The bike is described as a Ross brand bike and is valued at approximately $50.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 2:58 (6/30) – Beacon Street/ Pleasant Street

Police on patrol noticed a vehicle traveling with its high beams on and pursued the driver after he failed to dim the beams for an approaching car in the opposite direction. After stopping the car for a traffic violation the officer learned that there was an active warrant for his arrest as well as his right to operate a motor vehicle in Massachusetts was suspended. He was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred at 12:10AM (6/30) – Longwood Ave/ Sewall Ave

Police on patrol noticed a vehicle traveling beyond the posted speed limit. Upon stopping the vehicle it was learned that the driver was operating a motor vehicle after suspension. He was arrested, charged with operating a motor vehicle after suspension and given citations for speeding, and failure to dim high beams.
