October 9th Police Reports

Arrest

  • Occurred between 12:49AM and 1:10AM (10/09)- 129 Fisher Ave

Michellange Zavier, 19 yrs, was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault and Battery.

Students at Newbury College witnessed two people in an altercation. Students reported that a male suspect assault and battered a female victim. Police spoke with the victim and located the suspect identified as Michellange Zavier in his home town where area officers transported Zavier back to Brookline and into custody.

Robbery

  • Occurred at 8:30PM (10/09) – 96 Franklin Street

A victim reports being robbed at gunpoint by a male suspect. She was entering her apartment foyer and upon taking out her keys to open her inside door to gain entry into the building a man abruptly stepped into the entrance way and pulled out a handgun demanding money. The suspect was able to flee with $45 cash and the woman’s various identification and bank cards. The suspect was described as a dark skinned black male in his 20’s approximately 6ft tall, wearing a baggy sweatshirt and a black baseball cap. A short time later police received a call from a woman about four blocks away from the first robbery. She described a black male about 5’11”, wide build, wearing sweatpants and a gray sweatshirt wearing a dark colored baseball cap, lurking near her front fence. The man seemed to be following her to her building. However, when the suspect saw the woman was looking at him he walked away and fled in a vehicle with break lights that were located on the bumper.

  • Occurred between 10:31PM and 10:34PM (10/09) - 7 Netherlands Rd

Victim reports that two males approached him and put a sharp object on the back of his neck and then stole his backpack which contained $100 cash and various bank and identification cards. The suspects subsequently fled down Parkway Rd. The man was approached from behind by one of the males while the other stood in front of him impeding his path. The first suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his early 20’s approximately 5’8”-5’10”, 180lbs last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The second male is simply described as Hispanic also wearing a black sweatshirt.

  • Occurred between 7:36PM and 7:40PM (10/09)-Washington Street/ School Street

Victim reports that two males driving a dark colored sedan approached her and asked for directions, the passenger of the vehicle quickly exited and pushed the woman to the ground stealing her purse which contained $122 cash and various personal items as well as her suitcase which contained shoes and other personal items. The first suspect was described as white in his early 20’s with a thin build last seen wearing a blue zip up sweatshirt and blue jeans. The driver is described as white, wearing a red zip up sweatshirt.

Residents are advised to call police about ANY suspicious activity they may witness in their neighborhoods; promptness, perceptiveness and precaution are the best ways to protect ones self from becoming a victim.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 11AM (10/08) and 6AM (10/09)-273 Harvard St

Police responded to a call of an attempted burglary at Finagle a Bagel. An employee reported that sometime overnight someone had tried to pry open one of the rear doors. No additional damage was reported and it does not seem as though entry was made into the establishment.
