6:45pm: The theft
of a cell phone was reported from Linden Park. The victim mistakenly left the
cell phone on a bench on 6/26, and was unable to find it when he noticed the
next day. There have been a number of phone thefts recently in which the
victims mistakenly leave them in parks. Before you leave any public location,
please make sure you have all of your belongings
9:18pm: A
resident reported the theft of their backpack from the Main Branch of Brookline
Library. The crime occurred between 7:30pm and 9:15pm, when it was left hanging
from the back of a chair near the victim.
This is the second backpack theft from the library in recent
weeks. Please make sure your backpack is always in sight when in public. If
possible, keep it under your control by putting a leg or arm through the strap.
This will make it far more difficult to take without your noticing.
