Sector 1
Larceny: 12/07/2013 at 2:00 p.m. – Harvard St.
While working at the front desk, an officer received a report of a stolen wallet. The victim stated she was at a restaurant on Harvard St. when the wallet was taken from her purse without her knowledge. The victim became aware of the theft when she was alerted by her bank of unusual activity on her credit card. She was able to quickly cancel her cards.
Suspicious Activity: 12/09/2013 at 2:09 – Commonwealth Ave
An officer was dispatched to Commonwealth Ave to take a report of suspicious activity. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the victim who stated she had received a phone call from an unknown party who claimed to be holding her brother for ransom. The victim was immediately suspicious of the call and made contact with her brother. Once she confirmed her brother was safe, she notified Brookline officers. Please be advised, there have been many similar calls in Brookline over the past few months. If you receive a similar call, please notify the Brookline Police Department.
Sector 2
Malicious Damage: 12/08/2013 at 5:14 p.m. – Harvard St.
An officer was dispatched to Harvard St. to take a report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the victim who stated he returned to his parked vehicle to find his rear windshield had been smashed. There were no items taken from the vehicle and the car was still locked when the victim returned.
Not Duly Licensed: 12/10/13 at 12:36 a.m. – Harvard St.
An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a traffic light. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A query of the driver’s information revealed he had a suspended license. An inspection of the vehicle revealed a small, plastic bag containing a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana. The driver was placed under arrest for being Not Duly Licensed and issued a citation for Less Than 1 oz. of Marijuana.
Sector 5
Larceny: 12/09/2013 at 3:30 p.m. – Beacon St.
An officer was dispatched to Beacon St. to take a report of larceny. Upon arrival the officer was met by the victim who stated she briefly left her wallet unattended while she bagged groceries. When she went to retrieve her wallet she saw it had been taken.
