While working at the front desk, an officer received a report of larceny. According to the victim, she received a phone call from an unknown party around 2:30 p.m. The caller stated that her father had been in a motor vehicle accident and was now being held for ransom. The victim was instructed to drive to her bank and forward $800.00 to the caller. Once the victim made the transfer, the caller advised her to call her father and hung up. The victim immediately made contact with her father, who was in good health, had been home all day, and had not been threatened in anyway.
