The victim reports his vehicle broken into between 1:45pm and 2:20pm The vehicle’s front passenger window was smashed.  
Stolen from the vehicle was a Garmin GPS and a black briefcase which was taken from the floor of the front passenger seat

Police Reports 6/10/2014

On June 10, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Cypress St. with a nonfunctional front headlight. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found that the driver had a revoked license and stolen plates. The driver was placed under arrest and charged with larceny property: under $250—license plate, attaching plates, operating after revocation, and defective equipment.

On June 10, an officer was dispatched to Park St. for a report of suspicious calls. The reporting party stated that she had received two calls from a male stating he was with the IRS. The man said that she owed money and if she didn’t pay she would be arrested. These calls are believed to be part of a scam.

On June 10, an officer was dispatched to Atherton Rd. for a report of a breaking and entering of a residence. The victim stated that she had arrived home and found her apartment open and her bedroom ransacked. Residents reported that numerous items were missing from the apartment. The matter is under investigation.

Police Reports 6/9/2014

On June 9, an officer was dispatched to an apartment on Warwick Rd. for a report of an attempted larceny under false pretense. The reporting party stated that she had received a telephone call from a man saying he was from the IRS. The man told the reporting party that she owed money and if she didn’t pay that day, she would be placed under arrest. At this time, the woman contacted the Brookline Police and was informed that the call was a possible scam.

Police Reports 6/6/2014 through 6/8/2014

On June 6, an officer responded to Payson Rd. for a past breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The reporting party stated that their car had been parked overnight in their driveway and the next day they discovered that someone had broken into the car and attempted to take the seat belts. The matter is under investigation.

On June 6, a woman reported that her wallet had been stolen. The woman stated that she had left work to get coffee on Harvard St. and then returned to work and put her purse into a coat closet. The woman later received an email in regards to purchases from her credit card that she had not made. The matter is under investigation.

On June 6, an officer was dispatched to Winchester St. for a report of a stolen license plate. The reporting party stated that the front license plate from his car had been removed some time since the night before.

On June 6, officers were dispatched to Reservoir Rd. for a report of a breaking and entering of a residence. Two residents stated that their home had been broken into earlier in the day and showed officers where a piece of sheet metal from their basement air conditioner had been pushed in so someone could make entry. The matter is under investigation

On June 7, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Harvard St. with an expired inspection sticker. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found that the driver had an active warrant in effect. The driver was placed under arrest.

On June 7, an officer responded to the area of Beacon St. and St. Paul St. for a report of a suspicious person. The caller stated that a man was walking along Beacon St. with recycling container and appeared to be looking into the lobbies of various buildings. Officers located the male subject in a vehicle parked across from 1244 Beacon Street. An officer spoke with the male subject and was able to see a recycling bin matching the caller’s description as well as multiple packages in the front and back seat of the car. The man was placed under arrest for larceny from a building and receiving stolen property.

On June 8, an officer observed a vehicle speeding on Boylston St. and initiated a traffic stop. The officer found that the driver was operating with a suspended license and he was placed under arrest.

On June 8, officers were dispatched to Beacon St. for a report of shoplifting. Officers were able to locate the suspect travelling on Pleasant St. and were able to stop him. Officers found the man in possession of stolen merchandise as well as wire snip pliers. The man was placed under arrest for shoplifting and possession of burglarious tools.

Police Reports 6/5/2014

On June 5, officers were dispatched to Harvard St. for a shoplifter who had fled the store. The store manager stated that an employee had alerted him of a suspicious male who he believed had placed items inside his jacket. When the suspect went to leave, he set off the security alarm at the exit and the store manager confronted him. The suspect fled towards Aspinwall Avenue. The matter is under investigation.

On June 5, officers responded to Commonwealth Ave. on a report of a fight between employees with a knife involved. Upon arrival the assistant manager pointed out the parties involved in the dispute and they were separated and spoken to. Witnesses stated that the two parties had been engaged in an argument in the kitchen of the restaurant when one grabbed a knife causing the other to pull out a pocket knife. The witnesses were able to grab the party with the pocket knife and make him drop it. Both parties were placed under arrest and charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon.

Police Reports 6/4/2014

On June 4, a woman came into the Police Station to report a past larceny from a motor vehicle. The woman stated that the evening before she had left her purse in her unlocked car on Westbourne Tr. as she unloaded groceries. The vehicle was then moved to a parking space at the intersection of Washington St. and Corey Rd. where it was left overnight. On the morning of June 4, the woman discovered that her purse was missing from the vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

On June 4, an officer responded to Independence Dr. for a report of breaking and entering. The officer was able to observe that the door to a storage room at the back of the garage had been damaged allowing someone to make entry. The matter is under investigation.

On June 4, an officer responded to Gerry Rd. for a breaking and entering that had occurred the night before. A worker told the officer that when he arrived for work that morning, he found that someone had gained access to the storage room and removed the lower part of a window in order to exit. The matter is under investigation.

On June 3, an officer was dispatched to Maple St. for a past breaking and entering report. On arrival, the officer observed that the basement door had been damaged by an apparent breaking and entering. There were no signs of the house being disturbed. The matter is under investigation.

On June 3, an officer responded to a store on Harvard St. for a report of shoplifting. The owner of the store stated that a customer had taken two dresses and left without paying for them. The matter is under investigation.

Police Reports 6/2/2014

On June 2, an officer observed a vehicle make a left turn onto Washington St. from the middle lane of Beacon, against a red left turn arrow. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found that the driver had a revoked license as well as active warrants in effect. The driver was placed under arrest.

On June 2, an officer conducted a motor vehicle stop for a car travelling on Washington St. with an expired inspection sticker. The officer found that the driver was operating with a suspended license and he was placed under arrest.

On June 2, a woman came into the Police Department to report a case of fraud via the internet. The woman stated that since May 16, she had been in contact with a man in regards to his Craigslist post that he was looking to sublet. After coming to an agreement, the woman wired money for rent and then was unable to reach the man again. The matter is under investigation.

On June 2, officers were dispatched to a store on Harvard St. for a larceny report. An employee stated that he had been helping a customer when he went to retrieve something from the back of the store. When the employee returned, he discovered that the customer had left and money had been taken from the store’s lock box. The matter is under investigation.

Sting Arrest May 31, 2014

A 47 year old male subject was chatting online with what he thought was a 15 year old girl from Brookline, who he had met on Craigslist. They agreed to meet at a local park on Saturday. When the subject arrived he was placed under arrest without incident and charged with Enticement of a Child.

Police Reports 5/30/2014 through 6/1/2014

On May 30, an officer observed a vehicle left in the middle of Dean Road. The car appeared to have struck a tree and been abandoned. The officer had seen a woman walking alone nearby and gave out her description so that she could be checked on. The woman in question was located at the intersection of Loveland Rd. and Eliot Street. Officers spoke to the woman and observed that she was unsteady on her feet, had slurred speech and glassy eyes, and had an odor of alcohol emanating from her. The woman was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of liquor and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

On May 30, an officer was dispatched to Independence Dr. for a report of a past breaking and entering and larceny report. The reporting party stated that between 6pm on May 29 and 10:30am on May 30, someone had broken into his company’s storage shed. The matter is under investigation.

On May 30, an officer was dispatched to Beacon St. for a report of larceny. The reporting party stated that she had been expecting a package and when she contacted UPS they told her that it had already been delivered.

On May 30, officers were dispatched to Beacon St. for a report of larceny. The reporting parties stated that sometime during the day someone had gone into the basement office of their store and stolen an iPad and laptop. The matter is under investigation.

On May 30, an officer was dispatched to the Kent St. Lot for a larceny report. The victim stated that she had parked her car and purchased a parking meter ticket and believes she had dropped her wallet in the lot. She was later notified about suspicious activity on her credit card. The matter is under investigation.

On May 30, an officer was dispatched to the parking lot by Park School for a breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle. The vehicle in question had its passenger front window smashed and the owner stated that multiple items were taken.

On May 31, officers responded to the intersection of Washington St. and River Rd. to assist an officer who had a vehicle stopped. Upon arrival, the officers observed a vehicle pulled partway into a construction zone which was cordoned off with orange cones. The officers spoke to the driver and observed that his eyes were glassy and bloodshot, his speech was slurred, and an odor of alcohol was emanating from him. The driver was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of liquor, marked lanes violation, and driving on roadway under construction. A search of the vehicle yielded a small baggy of marijuana. The driver is being cited for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

On June 1, an officer responded to Green St. for a larceny report. The reporting party stated that multiple computer devices had gone missing from his apartment. The matter is under investigation.

On May 29, an officer responded to Saint Paul St. for a report of larceny. The reporting party stated that at approximately 4:30pm he had locked  his bike to a steel railing along the outdoor staircase of the building and noticed it missing at approximately 5pm. The officer observed that the lock had been cut and the matter is being investigation.

Police Reports 5/28/2014

On May 28, an officer was dispatched to South St. for a report of malicious damage to a vehicle. The reporting party stated that between the night of the 27th and the morning of the 28th, two tires were slashed on her car while it was parked in her driveway.

On May 28, an officer was flagged down by an employee of a store on Harvard Street. The employee stated that a man had just taken items from the store and left without paying. The matter is under investigation.

On May 28, an officer was dispatched to Littell Rd. for a fraud report. The reporting party stated that he had received a call from a male party with a blocked number. The suspect stated that the he had been in a car accident with the reporting party’s father and indicated that he must send money to ensure his father’s safety. This is part of a scam and the matter is under investigation.

On May 27, a male party came into the Police Station to report a stolen bicycle. The man stated that the bike had been locked to a pole on St. Paul Street and was last seen that morning. When the man returned to the spot, the bike was gone and there were no remnants of a destroyed lock.

On May 27, an officer was dispatched to Webster St. for a report of a stolen cell phone. The reporting party stated that while using the bathroom at work, he had left his phone by the sink. When he realized he had left it behind, the man stated that he went back and it was missing.

On May 27, officers were dispatched to Washington St. for a report of an apartment break in. Officers spoke to two of the residents who stated that they noticed that the front door to their apartment was open and damaged. They stated that upon walking through the apartment they noticed that items had been moved and rummaged through. The matter is under investigation.

On May 23, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Harvard St. with a defective brake light. The officer queried the vehicle and found that it had a failed inspection. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and found that the driver had a suspended license and an active warrant in effect. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 23, an officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Middlesex Rd. and Circuit Road. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found that the vehicle was unregistered and the driver had an expired license. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 23, an officer was dispatched to Beals St. for a larceny of a cell phone. The reporting party stated his contracting company had been working at a house there and his cell phone had been stolen from the location. The matter is under investigation.

On May 23, a woman came to the front desk of the police department to report the theft of a package. The woman stated that in the morning she had received a text saying her package had been delivered but when she returned home later in the day, the package had been opened and the contents were gone.

On May 23, while patrolling in the area of Kent St. and Francis St., an officer received information of a suspicious person in the rear of a building on Kent Street. The officer located a man fitting the description and stopped the man. It was found that the man had a default warrant in effect and he was placed under arrest.

On May 24, officers responded to a business on Beacon St. for a report of shoplifting. On arrival, an employee stated that he had observed the woman take an item and leave the store without paying at which time he had stopped her. Officers found that the woman had a warrant in effect and she was placed under arrest.

On May 24, an officer observed a vehicle speeding on Clyde St. and cut off a vehicle at the intersection of Clyde and Newtown Street. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found that the driver had a revoked license. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 25, an officer ran a query of a vehicle travelling on Harvard St. and found that the registered owner had an active warrant in effect. The officer initiated a motor vehicle stop and confirmed the warrant. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 25, an officer observed a vehicle come to a full stop in a no parking zone on Harvard Street. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found that the operator had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 26, an officer was dispatched to Williams St. for a report of a stolen laptop. The reporting party stated that while at a restaurant on Harvard St. he had left his laptop on the table while he went to use the bathroom. When he returned to the table, the laptop was missing.

On May 26, officers responded to Cypress St. for a report of a past breaking and entering. The reporting party stated that she had noticed that her jewelry box had been moved and some of her jewelry was missing. The matter is under investigation.

Police Reports 5/22/2014

On May 22, an officer was dispatched to Highland Rd. for a report of an attempted telephone fraud scam. The reporting party stated that she had received a message on her machine from a male party who stated that he worked for the IRS and that they needed to speak about a problem with her tax return. The woman stated that she had received an identical call two days earlier and found it was a scam. The matter is under investigation.

On May 22, an officer was dispatched to Commonwealth Ave. for a call from a reporting party stating he was following a subject he believed was wanted for a past larceny from his business. The officer found that the man had an active warrant in effect and he was stopped and placed under arrest. The suspect was also found to have a stolen debit card on him and is being charged with receiving stolen property under $250.

On May 22, an officer was dispatched to the front desk of the police station to take a report of a suspicious phone call. The reporting party stated that she received a call from a male subject stating to be from the IRS. The male stated that she had a warrant for her arrest. The reporting party informed the officer that a couple of weeks earlier she had reported fraud when a different male stated he was calling from the IRS and that the woman owed money. The matter is under investigation.

On May 22, officers were dispatched to the area of Longwood Ave. and St. Paul St. for a report of an attempted package theft. The reporting party stated that she was pulling into her driveway when she saw a male subject walk up to her front door and take a package from her porch. The woman stated that she yelled at him to stop and then followed him until he returned the package. The matter is under investigation.

On May 21, officers observed a vehicle on Harvard St. driving slowly and driving in the bicycle lane. The officers conducted a motor vehicle stop and found that the passenger had an active warrant in effect. The passenger was placed under arrest and the driver was cited for a marked lanes violation and sent on his way.

On May 21, officers observed a vehicle make an illegal left turn onto Harvard Street. The officers initiated a traffic stop and found that the driver had an active warrant in effect. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 20, an officer was dispatched to Beacon St. for a larceny report. The reporting party stated that sometime between the morning of the 19th and the morning of the 20th his bike was stolen from the basement of his building. The matter is under investigation.

On May 20, an officer observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn on Harvard Street. The officer stopped the vehicle and found that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 19, an officer observed a vehicle drive through a red light on Washington Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found that the driver had an active warrant in effect. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 19, an officer conducted a motor vehicle stop for a vehicle travelling on Harvard St. with no inspection sticker. The driver was cited for no inspection sticker and no license in possession. She was also cited for a child safety seat violation and the passenger was cited for a seat belt violation.

On May 19, an officer observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn on Harvard Street. The officer got the vehicle to pull over and found that the driver’s license was suspended and the vehicle’s registration was expired. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 19, an officer responded to St. Paul St. for a report of theft. The reporting party stated that between the evening of the 18th and the morning of the 19th, his bicycle was stolen from the back hallway of his apartment building. The matter is under investigation.

On May 19, an officer was dispatched to Brookline Ave./Aspinwall Ave. for a traffic accident involving a bicyclist. Speaking with the associated parties, officers learned that a vehicle had been making a left turn on a green light when they made contact with the rear tire of a bicycle travelling in the crosswalk with a walk signal. A check on the driver showed that he had a revoked license and he was placed under arrest.

Police Reports 5/16/2014 through 5/18/2014

On May 16, an officer initiated a traffic stop with a vehicle that had been speeding on Boylston Street. The officer found that the driver’s license had been revoked and he was placed under arrest.

On May 16, officers observed a vehicle travelling on Harvard St. touch the double solid center line before moving across the travel lane and travelling in the bike lane. Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop and found that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 16, officers observed a vehicle travelling westbound on Beacon St. travel through a red light, turn left on a red arrow and continue driving eastbound on Beacon. The officers initiated a traffic stop and found that the driver did not have a license and had an active warrant in effect. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 16, an officer was dispatched to Washington St. for a report of theft. The reporting party stated that she had been expecting a package, the tracking information showed that it had previously been delivered, yet she had not received it.

On May 16, an officer ran the information of a vehicle in front of him who had made an abrupt lane change on Beacon Street. The officer found that the registered owner of the vehicle had an active warrant in effect so he conducted a motor vehicle stop and placed the driver under arrest.

On May 17, an officer responded to a residence building on Cypress St. for a report of a past larceny. The reporting party stated that she had left her bicycle in the building’s rear storage closet a few days ago and had just discovered it missing. The matter is under investigation.

On May 18, officers observed a vehicle travelling on Washington St. stop for a red light and then accelerate through the intersection. The officers initiated a traffic stop and while speaking with the driver detected bloodshot and glassy eyes, slurred speech, and an odor of alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of liquor and a red light violation. The driver was also cited for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

On May 18, an officer initiated a traffic stop with a traveling on Harvard St. with an expired inspection sticker. The officer found that the driver had an active warrant in effect and he was placed under arrest.

Police Reports 5/15/2014

On May 15, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Harvard St. drive through the red light at Beacon St. and then fail to accelerate at the intersection of Harvard and Babcock when the light changed from red to green. The officer activated his lights to initiate a traffic stop and the vehicle continued driving with its left tires crossing the double yellow line. The vehicle finally came to a stop and the officer approached to speak with the driver. The officer detected the smell of unburnt marijuana as well as liquor and noticed that the driver had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. The driver was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of liquor, red light violation, marked lanes violation, and seatbelt violation. A search of the vehicle yielded marijuana and the driver is also being charged with possession of Class D.

On May 15, an officer observed a vehicle make an illegal left turn at the intersection of Harvard and Beacon. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and found that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 15, officers were dispatched to Beacon St. for a report of suspicious activity, a man entering a dumpster and removing items and putting them in his truck. Officers spoke with the man and could detect an odor of marijuana around his vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded marijuana, plastic baggies, a scale, and pills with no prescription. The man was placed under arrest and charged with possession Class D, possession with intent to distribute Class D, and Possession Class E.

On May 9, an officer observed a vehicle speeding on Boylston St. and initiated a traffic stop. The officer found that the driver was operating with a suspended license and he was placed under arrest. An inventory search of the vehicle yielded marijuana and related drug paraphernalia.

On May 9, an officer observed a vehicle fail to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk on Harvard Street. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and found that the driver had a revoked license. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 10, an officer observed a male party on Washington St. pulling fence poles out of the ground and tossing them onto the sidewalk.  While speaking with the party, the officer observed an odor of liquor emanating from him. The man was placed under arrest for malicious damage of property.

On May 11, an officer observed a driver typing on her cell phone while driving on Harvard Street. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 11, an officer observed two vehicles travelling at a high rate of speed on Harvard St. with the first vehicle swaying into the bike lane several times. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and both vehicles pulled over. The operator of vehicle two stated he was following vehicle one. He was found to have an active license and he was cited for speeding and sent on his way. The officer found that the operator of vehicle one did not have a license and had an active warrant in effect. The driver of vehicle one was placed under arrest.

Early on May 12, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Harvard St. with a defective passenger side headlight. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found that the driver had a revoked license as well as an active warrant in effect. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 14, due to recent breaking and entering’s in the area, an officer initiated a field interview with a male party at the corner of Eliot St. and Cleveland Road. The man was evasive and the officer found that he had an active warrant in effect. The man was placed under arrest.

Police Reports 5/7/2014

Early on May 7, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Harvard St. without its headlights activated. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and found that the driver did not have a license. The driver was placed under arrest for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to use headlights, and operating a motor vehicle without registration in possession.

On May 7, an officer observed a vehicle impede the flow of traffic as it was stopped at a green light on Harvard Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 7, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on High St. turn onto Boylston St. and travel in the wrong direction. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and while speaking with the driver observed glassy eyes and an odor of alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of liquor and a one way violation.

On May 7, vehicle 1 attempted to switch into the left lane when vehicle 2 stopped for traffic causing vehicle 1 to hit the back of vehicle 2. Vehicle 2 left the scene without exchanging information and was stopped by an officer who found that the operator did not have a license. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 7, officers responded to Valley Rd. for an attempted breaking and entering. The reporting party stated that a man had rung her doorbell and when she did not recognize him she did not answer the door. The woman stated that the man then began to walk to the back door where he rang the bell again and attempted to put his face against the glass of the door and turn the door knob. The woman stated that she banged on the glass causing the man to flee on his bike down Eliot Street. The matter is under investigation.

On May 7, officers were dispatched to a store on Beacon St. for a report of shoplifting. The store manager stated that he had witnessed a man place items into his pockets and leave the store. The manager confronted the suspect and stopped him. Police found that the suspect had an active warrant in effect and he was placed under arrest for the warrant and for shoplifting.

On May 7, an officer observed a vehicle travel at a high rate of speed on Lee Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for operating after suspension and speeding.

On May 6, officers were dispatched to Longwood Ave. for a report of a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle that had just occurred. The reporting party stated that he had gone to let his dog out when he noticed a male subject walking away from his vehicle and that his vehicle’s interior lights were on. The victim went to his car and observed that the glove box and center console were open. The matter is under investigation.

On May 6, an officer responded to a call of traffic cones and signs in the roadway on Dean Rd. from Chestnuthill Ave. to Fisher Avenue. The officer moved these objects to the side of the road and continued on Dean Rd. where she observed three white ornamental fence tops in the middle of the road. The officer noticed a nearby fence had sustained a lot of damage and was able to later speak with the owner. At this time, another call for malicious damage came in. The officer responded to another address on Dean Rd. where the reporting party showed that her side gate had been damaged and tulips had been ripped from her garden. An investigation is occurring.

On May 6, an officer was dispatched to Beacon St. for a larceny report. The victim stated that his bicycle had been locked to a sign pole on Beacon St. and was now gone. The matter is under investigation.

On May 6, an officer observed a vehicle travelling with an expired inspection sticker and initiated a traffic stop in the area of Harvard Street and Marion Street. The officer found that the driver had an expired license and was operating with a learner’s permit. The driver was placed under arrest.

On May 6, officers were dispatched to Eliot St. for a breaking and entering. The reporting parties stated that they had noticed that the extra lock on the back door was not locked and one of the small windows in the door had been broken. Officers observed that little was disturbed in the house and the residents stated that only cash was missing. The matter is under investigation.

Traffic Arrest 5/6/2014

On May 6, an officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Beacon Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop in the area of 1648 Beacon St. and took identification from the driver and passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt. Additional officers and a State Trooper arrived on scene to assist. Officers learned that the passenger had an active warrant in effect. The passenger was resistant to officers but was eventually placed under arrest. A search of the arrestee yielded a loaded firearm and marijuana was found inside the vehicle. The passenger is being charged with possession of a gun without an FID, possession of ammunition, and resisting arrest. He is also being cited for failure to wear a seatbelt and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

During the early hours of May 2, officers observed a vehicle pull into an empty parking lot on Brookline Ave. that services locations which were all closed at the time. The officers went to inquire as to the business of the vehicle and could detect an odor of burnt marijuana in the parking lot. Officers spoke to the three occupants of the vehicle and found that there was marijuana inside. During a search of the vehicle, the officers located plastic baggies of marijuana, a digital scale, and a glass pipe. The driver was arrested for operating after license suspension. The passenger was arrested for possession with intent to distribute Class D and drug free park zone.

On May 2, an officer was dispatched to St. Paul St. for a larceny report. The reporting party stated that two bicycles were stolen from his building. The matter is under investigation.

On May 3, an officer was dispatched to Stearns Rd. for a report of a stolen package. The reporting party stated that a package delivered to the foyer had been found opened. Video showed that the suspect only took the invoice from the package. The matter is being investigated.

On May 3, an officer responded to a business on Harvard St. for a report of a larceny of a laptop computer. The reporting party stated that a laptop that is used by employees was taken from the store. The matter is being investigated.

On May 3, an officer was dispatched to Harvard St. for a motor vehicle breaking and entering and larceny of property. The victim stated that a man had opened the door to her car and taken money from the center console.

On May 3, an officer was dispatched to Boylston St. for a larceny report. The victim stated that he had left the store for a few hours that afternoon and when he returned his laptop was gone.

On May 3, an officer observed a group of people riding scooters on Harvard Street. The officer activated his lights and motioned for the male without a helmet to stop so he could speak with him. The scooter operator drove away at the green light. The officer followed the scooter as it drove the wrong way on Washington St. and then reversed direction. The suspect came to a stop and was arrested for failure to wear a helmet, failure to stop for a police officer, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. He was also cited for a red light violation and operating a motor vehicle on the sidewalk.

On May 4, an officer was dispatched to Walnut Hill Rd. for a report of malicious damage to a vehicle. The reporting party stated that the back window of his car had been smashed by a large rock that was found behind the vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

On May 4, an officer was dispatched to Egmont St. for a report of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The reporting party stated that when she returned to her car which had been parked for two days, she noticed that the vehicle had been rummaged through and items had been taken. The victim stated that while walking, a man walking a bike had bumped into him and then taken off on the bike. After the contact, the victim stated that money was gone from his pocket. On April 30, an officer responded to Corey Rd. for a report of larceny. The victim stated that he had heard someone outside his window and when he looked out, he saw a male party taking a flower pot from his window sill. The victim went to confront the man and he fled the area. The matter is under investigation.

On April 29, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Harvard St. with an expired inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop and the driver was cited for revoked insurance, unregistered motor vehicle and revoked registration.

On April 29, an officer ran the registration of a car that was parked and running on Cottage St. and found that the owner had active warrants. The officer spoke with the operator, who was not the owner, and found that he had a suspended license. He was cited.

On April 29, an officer responded to Stearns Rd. to take a past larceny report. The victim stated that a package had been delivered for him that day but when he went to get it from the building’s front vestibule, the packaging was there but the contents were gone.

On Friday 4/25/2014, the Blue Hills Bank located at 1337 Beacon St. was robbed by a white male who fled the scene. On Monday 4/28/2014, Milton had a bank robbery in which the subject was apprehended. Upon further investigation by Brookline Detectives, the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, and Milton Police, the subject in the Milton robbery was linked to the robbery in Brookline.

On April 25, an officer responded to Verndale St. for a report of a past larceny. The victim stated that he keeps four rocking chairs on his porch and between the evening of April 24 and the afternoon of April 25 one of the chairs was missing. The matter is under investigation.

On April 25, an officer responded to Norfolk Rd. for a report of a past residential breaking and entering and larceny. Residents reported that numerous items were missing from the property. The matter is being investigated.

On April 25, an officer observed a vehicle travel through a red light at the intersection of St. Paul St. and Freeman Street. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found that the driver had an expired license. The driver was placed under arrest.

On April 26, an officer was dispatched to Gibbs St. for a possible breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that in the early hours he had gone to his car and found the driver’s door open, the center console open, and items strewn across the driver and passenger seats. The matter is under investigation.

On April 26, officers received a complaint regarding the misuse of a handicap placard on a vehicle parked on New Terrace Road. Officers spoke with the suspect who stated that the placard belonged to her aunt. The officers found that the suspect had an expired license and an active warrant. The suspect was placed under arrest.

On April 27, an officer responded to Station St. for a report of a bicycle theft. The victim stated that she had locked her bike to a lamppost for approximately two hours and found that it was gone when she returned. The matter is being investigated.

On April 24, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Washington St. drive through a red light, make an illegal U-turn, and drive on the wrong side of the road against the flow of traffic. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found that the driver was operating with a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest.

On April 24, an officer conducted a motor vehicle stop for a car driving above the speed limit on Hammond Street. The officer found that the driver had a suspended license and he was placed under arrest.

On April 24, an officer responded to Colchester St. for a report of breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that while parked in her driveway overnight, several items were taken from her vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

On April 24, a woman came into the Police Station to report that her car had been broken into sometime the night before. The woman stated that her car had been parked on Carlton St. and she noticed a couple of items were missing. The matter is under investigation.

On April 24, an officer responded to Washington St. for a report of a man chasing a shoplifter from his store. The owner of the store stated that he observed a male take items and leave the store without paying, at which time he chased the suspect on foot and lost him at Holden Street. The matter is under investigation.

On April 23, an officer travelling on Beacon St. observed a vehicle operating with a defective brake light. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest and cited for defective equipment and operating after suspension.

On April 23, a woman came into the Police Station to report a breaking and entering and larceny of her motor vehicle. The woman stated that she had parked her car at her residence on Adams St. and during the night someone had rifled through it. The matter is under investigation.

On April 23, officers were dispatched to Commonwealth Ave. and Babcock St. for a fight in progress. Officers spoke to one party who stated that a man had been attempting to steal parts from his moped when he interfered. The man stated that he and his friends had stopped the suspect from fleeing which caused a scuffle. The suspect was able to flee and the matter is being investigated.

On April 22, a man reported that sometime between April 19 and April 22, his apartment on Beacon St. was broken into. The victim stated that a couple of items were missing from his apartment. The matter is under investigation.

On April 22, officers responded to a bank on Harvard St. for a report of a customer being aggressive and swearing at the staff. While speaking to the suspect outside, the officers observed him yelling profanities and assuming a fighter’s stance while drawing lots of attention from passerby. The suspect was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace. He is also being charged with resisting arrest and trespassing.

On April 18, an officer observed a vehicle speeding on Boylston St. and initiated a traffic stop.  The officer found that the driver was operating with a revoked license and he was placed under arrest.

On April 18, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Harvard St. drive in the bike lane for approximately one block and then straddle the double solid lines on the left. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and could detect an odor of unburnt marijuana while speaking with the driver and passenger. The driver was placed under arrest for operating with an expired license, marked lanes violations and open containers of alcohol. The passenger was issued a citation for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and sent on his way.

On April 19, officers responded to Princeton Rd. for a report of an attempted larceny that had just occurred. The reporting party stated that while doing yard work he had seen a vehicle double parked next to his work trailer and had seen a man exit the passenger side and take a leaf blower from the trailer and place it into his own vehicle. The reporting party approached the suspect who then removed the leaf blower from his car, threw it into the road, and fled in the vehicle.  The matter is under investigation.

On April 20, an officer responded to Centre St. for a report of breaking and entering. The victim reported waking up to a rustling noise and seeing an unidentified man in her apartment. The victim stated that the man fled when she screamed and she believed only some cash was missing. The matter is being investigated.

On April 20, an officer observed a male on High St. who had a no trespassing order for Brookline Housing Authority property. Officers spoke with the man and his companion. The man with the no trespassing order was asked to leave the premises and will be summoned to court. Dispatch ran a check of the companion and found that he had active warrants in effect. He was placed under arrest.

On April 17, an officer was dispatched to Station St. for a report of a stolen bicycle. The reporting party stated that she had locked her bike to a bike rack but when she came back a few hours later it was gone.

On April 17, an officer met with a man regarding a past larceny. The man stated that he had left his bike by a lamppost on Harvard St. for approximately 30 minutes. When he returned, the man stated that his bike was gone.

On April 16, an officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a stop sign on Amory Street. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found that the vehicle’s insurance had been revoked. The driver was cited for operating an uninsured vehicle, unregistered motor vehicle, revoked insurance, and failure to stop. The car was towed.

On April 16, an officer observed a vehicle making a U-turn on St. Paul Street. The vehicle had to make a three point turn and in doing so caused traffic on St. Paul St. to back up to Beacon Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, the officer observed nervous behavior and an odor of raw marijuana.  The driver was found in possession of marijuana and was cited for less than one ounce and for a U-turn causing others to slow.

On April 15, an officer initiated a traffic stop at Mountfort St. and Saint Mary’s St. for a vehicle with a defective headlight. The officer found that the driver was operating with a suspended license and he was placed under arrest.

On April 15, an officer was dispatched to a store on Commonwealth Ave. for a report of shoplifting. An employee stated that he saw a man enter the store, load items into a bag, and leave. The matter is currently under investigation.

On April 15, officers were dispatched to a restaurant on Harvard St. for a report of a fight in progress. While responding, dispatch updated officers that the suspects had fled the scene. Officers spoke to the victim and witnesses and were able to locate the suspects. Four of the suspects are being summoned to court for Assault & Battery, Disorderly Conduct, and Affray. One suspect is being summoned for Disorderly Conduct.

On April 15, a man reported that a package was stolen from the foyer of his apartment building on Short Street. USPS shows that the package was delivered on Friday April 11, yet the victim was gone for the weekend and never received the package upon his arrival home.

On April 14 dispatch sent out a call for a motor vehicle crash on Washington Street. In the call they stated that one of the parties had exited his vehicle and was attacking the other driver with a crowbar before he fled the scene. Officers were able to get in contact with the suspect and placed him under arrest for malicious damage, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

On April 14, an officer ran the plates of a vehicle on Commonwealth Ave. and discovered that the registration was revoked and the owner had a possible warrant match. The officer spoke with the occupant and confirmed the status of the warrant. The man was placed under arrest for the warrant and charged with operating after revocation, revoked registration, uninsured motor vehicle, and unregistered motor vehicle.

On April 14, officers were informed of a suspect who had a default warrant in effect. The officers located the man and placed him under arrest.

On April 14, an officer ran the plates of a vehicle that rolled through the stop sign at Newton St./Goodard Circle. The query showed that the registered owner had a suspended license. The officer initiated a traffic stop and the driver was arrested for operating after suspension. The officer observed that the vehicle’s VIN number on the dashboard did not match the VIN number on the inspection sticker.  Additionally, the operator was charged with attaching plates.

On April 12, an officer ran a check of a vehicle travelling on Beacon St. and found that the registered owner had a suspended license. The officer conducted a traffic stop and confirmed the status of the driver’s license. The driver was placed under arrest.

On April 12, an officer observed a vehicle enter the four way intersection at Drummer St. and Amory St. without stopping at the posted stop sign. The officer initiated a traffic stop and dispatch informed him that the driver’s right to operate had been suspended and the vehicle registration had been revoked. The driver was placed under arrest.

On April 13, an officer observed a vehicle traveling on Beacon St. make an illegal left turn onto Webster Street. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and found that the driver had an active warrant in effect. The driver was placed under arrest.

On April 13, an officer observed a vehicle speeding on Boylston Street. When the officer activated his overhead lights the vehicle made a U-turn, made a sharp right onto Reservoir Rd. and suddenly came to a stop. While speaking with the driver, the officer observed that he had glassy eyes, slurred speech, jerky movements, and an odor of alcohol emanating from him. The driver was placed under arrest and cited for operating under the influence of intoxicating liquor, speeding, marked lanes violation, and red arrow violation.

On April 13, an officer observed a vehicle travelling eastbound on the westbound side of Beacon St. against oncoming traffic. The officer was able to conduct a motor vehicle stop and noticed that the driver had glassy eyes and an odor of alcohol emanating from her. The driver was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of liquor and a one way sign violation.

On April 10, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle speeding on Beacon Street. The officer found that the driver had an active warrant in effect and the driver was placed under arrest.

On April 10, an officer observed a vehicle stopped in the intersection of Beacon St. and Washington St. blocking the crosswalk and an adjacent fire hydrant. The officer observed that the car was running but there were no lights illuminated and the dark window tint made it difficult to determine whether the vehicle was occupied. The officer activated his lights and approached the vehicle. A check with dispatch confirmed that the vehicle’s registration was revoked and the driver’s license was suspended and the driver was placed under arrest.

On April 9, an officer responded to Boylston St. for a report of a past larceny. The victim stated that an envelope containing money had been taken from her purse which was located at her work station within the office. The matter is being investigated.

On April 9, an officer was dispatched to Harris St. for a report of a package theft. The victim stated that she had received an email the day before from UPS stating that the package she had been expecting had been delivered. When the woman got to the lobby of the building, the package was not there.

On April 9, an officer responded to the intersection of Emerson St. and Waverly St. at the request of another officer. The officer who was already on scene reported that he had been parked on Waverly St. with his emergency lights activated when a vehicle passed him on the right with no headlights on. The officer stopped the vehicle and believed the operator to be under the influence of alcohol. After the other officer spoke to the driver, the driver was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of liquor and operating a motor vehicle without headlights after dark.

On April 8, an officer was dispatched to Summit Ave. on a suspicious activity call. The reporting party stated that for the past month she has been receiving calls from an unknown male party who says he’s from Microsoft and needs her personal information to fix her computer. It is believed that this is part of a scam.

On April 8, a man came into the police station to report that his vehicle had been broken into while it was parked on Beacon Street. The man stated that when he returned to his vehicle, the passenger window had been forced down, the inside had been rummaged through, and his laptop was gone.

On April 7, officers ran the plates of a vehicle travelling on Harvard St. and found a possible match for a warrant candidate. The officers initiated a traffic stop and found that the passenger had an active warrant in effect. The passenger was placed under arrest.

On April 7, officers responded to Beacon St. for a call of armed robbery. The reporting party stated that he was walking on Monmouth St. when he was approached from behind and pushed to the ground. The suspect asked him the reporting party to give over his wallet and then fled. The matter is being investigated.

On April 7, a woman came into the Police Station to report a past larceny. The woman stated that on April 1 she was in a restaurant on Beacon St. and when she went to retrieve her order, her wallet was taken from her table.

On April 7, a man reported that someone had their credit card and cash stolen from a locker at an establishment on Clyde Street. The matter is under investigation.

On April 7, a man reported that his shoulder bag was stolen from a store on Beacon Street. The victim stated that the bag was taken from his shopping cart while he was loading items into his car. The matter is under investigation.

On April 4, an officer observed a vehicle with a defective headlight travelling from Grove St. to Independence Drive. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and found that the driver had an expired license. The driver was cited for not being duly licensed and defective equipment. The car was released to the driver’s spouse who had an active license.

On April 4, an officer was dispatched to Dwight St. for a larceny of a package. The victim stated that when she arrived home, the package she was expecting was in the foyer and the contents had been removed.

On April 5, an officer was stopped at the traffic signal at the intersection of Boylston St. and Cypress St. when he ran the plates of the car in front of him. The officer found that the vehicle’s registered owner had a suspended license and he initiated a traffic stop. Dispatch confirmed the man’s license was suspended and he was placed under arrest.

On April 5, officers were dispatched to a store on Beacon St. for a no trespass order. An officer looked up the subject and discovered that he had an active warrant in effect. The man was placed under arrest.

On April 5, an officer was approached by a store employee in Coolidge Corner who wanted to report a larceny. The employee stated that a cell phone had been stolen from the display shelf and a dummy cell phone had been left behind. The matter is under investigation.

On April 5, an officer observed a scooter travel through a red light at the intersection of Washington and Beacon Street. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found that the operator had a suspended license. The operator was placed under arrest.

On April 6, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Harvard St. with a defective driver’s side headlight. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and found that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest. During an inventory of the car, officers found individual bags of marijuana, a glass pipe, and pills without a prescription. The driver is being charged with operating with defective equipment, operating with a suspended license, possession of Class D with intent to distribute, and possession of Class E prescription drugs.

On April 3, officers observed a vehicle straddle the two lanes of traffic on Washington St. while stopped at a red light. The officers initiated a traffic stop and found that the driver had a revoked license. The driver was placed under arrest.

On April 3, an officer was dispatched to Harvard St. and Marion St. for a report of the larceny of a moped that was parked on the sidewalk. The owner stated that he had left the moped parked overnight and when he returned in the morning, it was gone. The matter is under investigation.

On April 3, officers were dispatched to Clinton Rd. for a report of a vehicle that had hit a tree. Officers spoke to the driver who appeared unsteady on his feet, had slow slurred speech, and had an odor of alcohol emanating from him. The driver was placed under arrest for OUIL (2nd offense) and operating to endanger.

On April 3, an officer was dispatched to Freeman St. for a report of larceny. The victim stated that she had received a package that morning and had left it in the building vestibule. Upon her return in the evening, the woman found that her package had been opened and the contents were gone.

On April 3, an officer responded to Westbourne Terrace for a report of suspicious activity. The caller stated that there was a man in the building’s courtyard acting suspicious. Officers located the suspect inside one of the building’s storage rooms in the basement. The man was placed under arrest for breaking and entering at night with the intent to commit a misdemeanor and trespassing.

On April 2, an officer was dispatched to Beacon St. for a past larceny report. The victim stated that when he arrived at the lobby of his building he found that the package he had been waiting for was open and the contents were gone. While there, the officer discovered that there was another package in the lobby that had been opened and the contents removed. The officer spoke to the owner of that package as well. The matter is under investigation.

On April 2, an officer responded to Harvard St. for a report of fraud. The victim stated that he was notified by the IRS that his Federal Tax Return had been rejected. After contacting them, the victim learned that someone had used his information to file a tax return. The matter is under investigation.

On April 2, officers responded to Beacon St. for a shoplifter who was being detained in a store. An employee stated that he had observed the suspect take multiple items and place them into his bag before exiting the store. The suspect was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

On April 2, officers traveling on Washington St. saw a pedestrian begin to enter the roadway in a poorly lit area. As the officers approached, the subject, who had his hood up and was hard to see, stuck his tongue out and entered the lane of travel. The officers avoided the subject and saw that he had stumbled into the opposite lane. The officers spoke to the man and discovered that he had an active warrant in effect. The man was placed under arrest.

On March 31, a man came into the Police Station to report that he had been the victim of fraud. The man stated he received a letter from the IRS which stated they had received a form he had not filed. The matter is under investigation.

On March 28, an officer was dispatched to Dwight St. for a report of past larcenies. The victim stated that she was expecting two packages and when she contacted the companies, she was informed that both packages had been delivered on March 20. The woman never received the packages and the matter is under investigation.

On March 28, an officer responded to Kent St. for a larceny report. The victim stated that a package had been delivered for him on March 26 but when he arrived at the building lobby, the package had been placed in the trash and the contents were gone. The man stated that he had the company send a replacement product which arrived earlier in the day, yet when he got to the lobby the package was once again in the trash and the contents were gone.

On March 29, an officer observed a vehicle enter Horace James Circle at a high rate of speed and exit onto Hammond Street. The officer conducted a traffic stop and detected an odor of liquor emanating from the driver. The driver was placed under arrest and cited for operating under the influence of liquor, operating to endanger, racing attempting to break a record, speeding, marked lanes violation, and open container in a motor vehicle.

On March 30, officers were dispatched to Winchester St. for a cab fare evasion. The driver stated that he had driven a female party to that location and she had exited the cab without paying. The officers went up the stairs to the building and were met by a witness who stated that he had heard banging and the sound of glass breaking and when he went to investigate he discovered a female in the foyer who was bleeding from her hand. Officers observed that the pane for the door was broken and there was glass and blood on the floor. Officers spoke with the female party and she will be summoned to court for malicious damage to the door. The cab driver declined to pursue the matter of the unpaid fare.

On March 30, as part of an ongoing Craigslist sting, a man was placed under arrest and charged with enticement of a child under the age of 16, annoying & accosting sexually, and dissemination of obscenity to minors.

On March 27, officers ran a query of a vehicle traveling on Washington St. and discovered that the vehicle had an expired inspection sticker and the registered owner had a warrant in effect. The officers conducted a motor vehicle stop and confirmed the status of the warrant. The driver was placed under arrest.

On March 27, officers were dispatched to Beacon St. for a fight in progress. A witness reported that a motorist had assaulted another motorist over a parking space. He stated that the assault included the suspect banging on the victim’s car, verbally harassing the victim, and physically harassing the victim. Officers spoke with the victim and other witnesses who confirmed the story. The suspect was placed under arrest for assault and battery (hands), assault and battery (shod foot), disturbing the peace, and disorderly conduct.

On March 27, an officer was dispatched to a store on Commonwealth Ave. for a report of shoplifting that had just occurred. An employee stated that a man had entered the store, taken a jacket off the rack and placed it into a bag and then left. The matter is under investigation.

On March 27, an officer observed a vehicle travel through a red light at the intersection of Kent Street and Aspinwall Avenue. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found that the driver had a suspended right to operate. The driver was cited for operating after suspension and failure to stop.

On March 26, an officer observed a vehicle in the left turn only lane at the intersection of Harvard St. and Longwood Ave. drive straight and cut off another vehicle. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found that the driver had a Massachusetts permit but no license. The driver was placed under arrest and cited for a marked lanes violation and not being duly licensed.

On March 26, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Harvard St. make an illegal U-turn onto Green Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop and after approaching the vehicle could detect an odor of unburnt marijuana. The driver was found to have marijuana and he was cited for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and a U-turn violation.

On March 25, officers observed a vehicle backing up in the wrong direction on Beacon St. with its rear right tire going up over the curb. The officers conducted a traffic stop and were able to see a stun gun box in plain view behind the driver’s seat. The officers conducted a pat frisk and discovered a security tag remover and a stun gun on the driver. A search of the car revealed two more stun guns and tag removers and a bag of clothes. The driver was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Stun Gun, Taser; Receiving Stolen Property; and a One Way Violation.

On March 25, an officer observed a vehicle travel at a high rate of speed on Harvard St. and run through a red light at the intersection of Harvard Street and School Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop and observed that the passenger was not wearing a seat belt. The officer looked up both parties and found that the passenger had a warrant in effect. The passenger was placed under arrest and charged with a seat belt violation and default warrant. The driver was written a citation for a red light violation and was sent on his way.

On March 25, an officer responded to Pleasant St. for a report of larceny. The resident reported that the building’s foyer was empty around 4pm but when she returned at 5pm a package that had been delivered for her husband was open and its contents had been removed. The matter is under investigation.

On March 24, a woman came into the Police Station to report a past breaking and entering and larceny of a vehicle. The victim stated that on Saturday March 22, her car had been parked in the Centre Street Lot and when she returned to it later in the day, a backpack with several items inside was missing.

On March 24, an officer responded to Marion St. for a report of larceny by false pretenses. The victim stated that she had received a call earlier in the day from a party she had believed to be her grandson who stated that he was in jail. The woman then spoke to the man’s supposed attorney who said that the victim should transfer bail money through MoneyGram. It was found that this was part of a Phishing-type phone scam and the matter is under investigation.

On March 21, officers responded to Beacon St. for a report of a suspicious male yelling and hitting the bushes along buildings with a stick he was carrying. Officers located the male party on Beaconsfield Rd. and he was acting in a threatening manner. The man was placed under arrest for Disorderly Person and Threats.

On March 21, an officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Harvard St. and initiated a traffic stop. The officer discovered that the driver had a revoked license and they were placed under arrest.

On March 21, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Boylston St. with an expired registration sticker. A check of the vehicle on the cruiser laptop indicated that the registered owner had a suspended license. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and the driver was placed under arrest and cited for operating after revocation and expired registration.

On March 21, an officer ran a random query of a vehicle travelling on Lee St. which revealed that the registered owner had a suspended license. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found that the driver, who was not the registered owner, had an expired license. The driver was placed under arrest.

On March 21, an officer was dispatched to Kent St. for a report of larceny. The victim stated that she had had a purchase mailed to her and when she arrived home, the package was open inside of the building lobby and the contents were missing.

On March 21, an officer initiated a traffic stop for a vehicle travelling on Chestnut Hill Ave. with an expired registration sticker. The officer found that the driver was operating with an expired license and the driver was placed under arrest and cited for not being duly licensed, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating after revocation, and failure to display proper registration.

On March 22, a call was put out by dispatch regarding a hit and run accident that had occurred on Longwood Avenue. Dispatch informed officers that Boston and State Police had a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle involved and officers responded to Centre St. in Boston. When speaking to the driver, officers observed that her speech was slurred, her eyes were bloodshot and glassy, she was lethargic, and an odor of alcohol was emanating from her. The driver was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident/personal injury, and a marked lanes violation.

On March 22, an officer observed a vehicle traveling at a speed greater than the posted 35 mph on West Roxbury Parkway. The officer initiated a traffic stop and issued a citation for speeding. At this time, the driver began revving his engine as he pulled into traffic before it was safe to do so, causing other vehicles to slam on their brakes. The vehicle nearly avoided hitting another car when turning onto Hammond Pond Parkway and the officer activated his lights again. The vehicle failed to stop as it fled from the officer and swerved around cars stopped at a red light at the intersection of Hammond Pond Parkway and Heath Street. The vehicle finally pulled over and the driver was placed under arrest and charged with failing to stop for a police officer, operating to endanger, speeding, failing to stop at a red light, passing on the right, and an unsafe lane change.

On March 22, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Commonwealth Ave. at a high rate of speed and cross the white dotted line. The officer initiated a traffic stop and while speaking with the driver observed slurred speech, glassy eyes, and an odor of alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest for speeding, failure to stay in marked lanes, and operating under the influence of liquor.

On March 23, officers responded to Winthrop Rd. for a report of motorist hitting a telephone pole and attempting to flee the scene. Officers spoke to the driver and observed that he was unsteady on his feet and had slurred speech. An officer observed a pocket knife in the man’s back pocket and conducted a pat frisk for officer safety. The officer found multiple small bottles of alcohol on the man. The man was placed under arrest and cited for operating under the influence of liquor; operating to endanger, driving on the sidewalk; operating to endanger, operating while intoxicated; leaving the scene of property damage/traffic crash; and open container of alcohol.

On March 23, an officer observed a vehicle turn from Harvard St. to Beacon St. where signs were posted indicating that no left turn was allowed. The officer conducted a traffic stop and discovered that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest.

In the early morning of March 20, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Washington St. with a defective headlight. The officer initiated a traffic stop and observed the driver acting nervous and agitated. The driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and was cited for possession of less than one ounce and for a defective headlight.

On March 20, an officer observed a vehicle travel through the stop sign at Newton St. and Goddard Ave. without stopping. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and found that the driver did not have a license. The driver was placed under arrest and cited for not being duly licensed and the stop sign violation. The owner of the vehicle was issued a citation for allowing an improper person to operate a motor vehicle.

On March 20, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Washington St. with a rejected inspection sticker. The officer conducted a traffic stop. A check of the vehicle and the driver revealed that the vehicle status was revoked, the driver’s license was suspended, and the driver had a warrant in effect. The driver was placed under arrest and cited for failure to inspect the motor vehicle, operating an unregistered vehicle, operating an uninsured vehicle, and operating after suspension.

On March 19, an officer observed a vehicle cut across two lanes of traffic on Beacon St. without using a turn signal. The officer conducted a traffic stop and when approaching the vehicle detected an odor of fresh marijuana. While speaking to the operator, the officer observed nervous and fidgety behavior. Officers found the driver to be in possession of marijuana, prescription drugs and pills without a prescription, multiple cell phones, and cash. The driver was placed under arrest and cited for a marked lanes violation, no directional while turning, and possession of class B with intent to distribute. The driver was also given a citation for possessing less than an ounce of marijuana.

On March 19, dispatch gave out information on a shoplifting that had just occurred at a store on Beacon Street. An officer observed the vehicle that the suspect got into driving on Harvard Ave. and conducted a motor vehicle stop. The passenger matched the description of the suspect and was placed under arrest for larceny. The stolen merchandise was found in her purse and jacket. The driver was cited for no inspection sticker and no license in possession and was sent on her way.

On March 19, an officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a stop sign at Dean Road and Druce Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop and found that the driver was not duly licensed. The driver was placed under arrest and cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and not being duly licensed.

On March 19, an officer was dispatched to Winchester St. for a report of larceny. The victim stated that when she returned home from a walk with her daughter, she had left their stroller at the foot of the residence’s stairs close to the sidewalk. When the woman returned later for the stroller, it was gone. The matter is under investigation.

On March 19, an officer observed a vehicle traveling in the middle lane of Beacon St. turn left across the trolley tracks onto Washington St. while a vehicle waited in the left turn lane with a red arrow. The officer signaled for the driver to pull over and found that the driver was operating with an expired license. The driver was placed under arrest for not being duly licensed.

On March 18, an officer was dispatched to a residential building on Boylston St. to take a larceny report. The reporting party stated that he had had a package stolen from the building foyer. The man stated that UPS told him the package had been delivered yet he never received it. The matter is under investigation.

On March 18, an officer was dispatched to a business on Beacon St. for a report of past shoplifting. The store owner stated that on March 9 and 10th a female entered the store and used a plastic container to steal frozen yogurt from a machine. The matter is being investigated.

On March 16, an officer was dispatched to Winchester St. and Atherton Rd. for a motor vehicle crash. The officer observed a vehicle that had driven up Atherton Rd. the wrong way and appeared to have hit a tree. At the scene, a witness reported seeing the vehicle hit his cousin’s car, drive off and hit a tree. The officer spoke to the driver who appeared unsteady on his feet and had a strong odor of alcohol emanating from him. The driver was placed under arrest and charged for operating under the influence of liquor, operating to endanger, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and a one-way violation.

On March 7, an officer was dispatched to an apartment on Upland Rd. for a report of larceny. The victim stated that he had parked his vehicle in his driveway the evening before and had left it unlocked. When the man went to retrieve his laptop bag from the car a little after midnight, the man found that the laptop bag and its contents were missing and items in the car had been rifled through. The matter is under investigation.

On March 7, officers observed a vehicle traveling on Harvard St. change lanes abruptly and cut off another vehicle without signaling. The vehicle proceeded to slow down to approximately 5mph which due to the flow of traffic was an unsafe speed. The officers initiated a traffic stop and while speaking to the driver they observed red, glassy eyes and an odor of alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest and cited for operating under the influence of liquor and failure to use a turn signal.

On March 7, an officer was dispatched to Manchester Rd. for a scam report. The victim stated that she had received a call that she believed to be from her grandson who said he had been arrested in Mexico and needed bail money. The grandson said that she would receive a call from an attorney about wiring the money to him. The woman received the call from the attorney and sent money by wire. The next morning the victim spoke to her grandson who stated that he hadn’t been in Mexico or arrested. The matter is under investigation.

On March 8, an officer observed a vehicle travel through a red light at the intersection of Kent Street and Longwood Avenue. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and spoke to both the driver and the passenger. The officer observed that the driver’s eyes were bloodshot and glossy, her speech was slurred, and she smelled of alcohol. Officers also detected an odor of marijuana and found that more than one ounce of marijuana was in the car. Both the driver and passenger were charged with Possession Class D with Intent to Distribute and the driver was also cited for operating under the influence of liquor and failure to stop (red light).

On March 8, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Harvard St. with an expired inspection sticker. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found that the driver’s license was revoked and he had an active warrant in effect. The driver was placed under arrest.

On March 8, an officer responded to Perry St. for a report of larceny. The victim stated that she had a package shipped to her, the Postal Service confirmed delivery, yet she never received the package. The matter is under investigation.

On March 9, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Boylston St. at a high rate of speed and making illegal lane changes. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found that the driver was operating with a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest and cited for speeding, marked lanes violation, and operating after suspension.

On March 9, officers went to a residence on Chestnut St. for two active warrants for a suspect. The officers placed the man under arrest for the warrants.

On March 9, an officer responded to Cypress St. for a report of larceny from a motor vehicle. The victim reported that his portable LCD player was taken from the trunk of his rental car. The matter is under investigation.

On March 9, an officer was dispatched to a restaurant on Harvard St. for a report of larceny. The victim stated that she had placed her laptop on a table and then joined her friend at another table for approximately 30 minutes. When the victim returned to her table, the laptop was gone. The matter is under investigation.

On March 9, a man came into the Brookline Police station to report that his car had been stolen. The man stated that his car had been parked on Harvard St. and when he returned the next day, it was gone. The matter is being investigated.
