Friday, May 31st

7:50AM: Officers were dispatched to Greenough Street for a graffiti complaint. At 7AM the Assistant Headmaster noticed graffiti on the rear of the school by Welland Road. The graffiti is in blue spray paint and says “Stay Groovy Class O’ 2019!” Custodial staff were on campus until 11:30PM on May 30^th  and did not noticed any suspicious activity. This case is under investigation. 

1:36PM: A citizen came to the police station to report malicious damage to her vehicle. The reporting party stated that she parked her car on Kent Street between the hours of 3PM and 5PM on Thursday, May 30^th. Upon return, she noticed the driver’s side mirror had been smashed with a hammer or similar object. Today, May 31^st, at 11AM she parked her car in the same spot. When she returned at 3PM, the mirror had been ripped off her vehicle and left in the road.  Police are investigating.

4:19PM: Police were dispatched to Sewall Avenue for a report of a fight in progress. The reporting party stated that he heard a young man yelling at a female in the parking lot. The reporting party verbally confronted the man and the two began to argue. The suspect shoved the reporting party and then turned around to retrieve something from his vehicle. The suspect quickly turned around and attacked the older gentleman again. The suspect shoved the man to the ground and then began to punch and kick the man. A woman ran over from Beacon Street and pulled the suspect off the victim. The male and female fled the scene by getting in a vehicle traveling eastbound on Beacon Street. With assistance from a neighboring police department the suspects were stopped on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston. A “Show Up Identification” was conducted. Witnesses identified the suspects and the man was arrested. He was charged with Assault and Battery on an Elderly Person, Intimidating a Witness and other charges.

Good Work by Off Duty Officer

Nice arrest yesterday of a subject stealing packages from residences in Brookline and Brighton. Scheduled to be arraigned today in Brookline District Court  Summary of events, at approximately 4:16PM. on Thursday May 30th, an off-duty Brookline police officer made note of a suspicious male in the 1500 block of Beacon St. The officer monitored this individual inside the inner vestibule of a multi-story apartment building and observed him placing what appeared to be a previously delivered parcel into a GRUBHUB-labeled insulated delivery shoulder bag. The officer contacted Brookline Police Dispatch, advised them of his observations, and units responded to the building to assist in the investigation The officer inquired of the suspect who claimed he was making a delivery to an upper floor in the building. This male quickly traversed the stairs inside the building and returned with the insulted GRUBHUB shoulder delivery bag now empty. During the threshold inquiry the subject claimed to be employed by GRUBHUB and DOORDASH. Investigation revealed there was no actual delivery, and this individual had not delivered for either GRUBHUB or DOORDASH in weeks. The investigation further indicated no resident of the multi-story building had requested food delivery from either company today, and that the subject had used a screwdriver to manipulate the interior vestibule locking mechanism to gain entry into the building. A further investigation found that a 2012 white Dodge Caravan was registered to him. A search of the area found the van parked on Fairbanks St. Numerous Amazon packages were within plain view inside the van. This van was towed and secured pending application for a search warrant. Suspect is 38 years old from Lawrence, Mass. Subject to be arraigned today in Brookline District Court, charged with breaking and entering during the daytime, several counts of larceny, possession of burglarious tools, larceny in a building, and multiple counts of receiving stolen property based on the stolen packages located inside the van after the execution of the search warrant.

Wednesday, May 29th

7:36AM: Police were dispatched to Beacon Street for a past larceny of a package. The reporting party noticed several open and rummaged through packages in the vestibule at 7:20AM this morning. The packages were undisturbed the previous night, May 28^th, at 9PM. The packages were submitted as evidence for processing. This case is under investigation.

6:05PM: A citizen came to the Police Station to report a bike larceny. The bicycle was left locked to a fence on Cypress Street on May 24^th. The reporting party noticed the bicycle missing on May 27^th. A coworker last saw the bicycle on May 25^th. Both the bicycle and the lock are missing. Police are investigating.

Tuesday, May 28th

3:25PM: Police responded to Davis Avenue for a report of possible exposure to rabies. The reporting party stated that a wild bat had been hiding in her home since Friday, May 24^th. The bat was captured and sent to the State Lab for testing. Everyone in the home has their rabies vaccination completed.

8:23PM: Officers were dispatched to Worthington Road for a report of a stolen bicycle. The reporting party told police that he left home at 7:30AM this morning. When he returned at 8:10AM his bike was missing from the driveway, however, a gray Schwinn bicycle was left in its place. The stolen bike is described as a black and blue Masi-Alare bicycle. Police collected the Schwinn bicycle for evidence. 

Monday, May 27th

8:17AM: Police were dispatched to Brookline Avenue for a report of an armed robbery. Multiple units canvassed the area for a 30 year old Hispanic male who threated someone with a knife. The reporting party was walking through the Emerald Necklace when a man approached him from behind. The suspect demanded “give me your wallet or I’ll stab you.” The subject fled with the wallet towards Aspinwall Avenue and Brookline Avenue. Officers searched the area for a man wearing black pants, multicolored shoes, and a black leather hat. The suspect was not located.  

1:59PM: Officers responded to Dean Playground for a past larceny. The reporting party stated that her son left his backpack at the park at 4:30PM on May 24^th, 2019. The reporting party returned on May 27^th at 2:43PM to search the park. She located her son’s books on a picnic table; they appeared to be left overnight. The reporting party could not find the backpack or the laptop that was inside. This case is under investigation.

4:47PM: Police were dispatched to Harvard Avenue for a report of bike theft. The reporting party locked her bike to the porch at 3:30PM. At 4:40PM she noticed the bicycle was missing. The item is described as a black City Bike that can be folded up and carried. Police are investigating. 

Saturday, May 25th

12:24PM: Police were dispatched to Harvard Street for shoplifting. Officers were met by the Loss Prevention Specialist who had stopped a male from shoplifting. The merchandise was returned and the suspect was summonsed for shoplifting.

Friday, May 24th

4:47PM: Police were dispatched to a business on Beacon Street for a report of larceny. The reporting party stated that her wallet was stolen from a local grocery store. She had her wallet in her open purse while shopping. After looking at produce, the reporting party noticed her wallet was missing. She attempted to retrace her steps but could not locate the item. This case is under investigation.

6:48PM: Officers responded to Harris Street for a report of a larceny. Upon arrival, police spoke to the care giver of a group home. She stated that every day she leaves her purse on the sofa in the living room area. Today she left the item at 3PM and when she returned at 6:30PM it could not be located. Police are investigating.

Thursday, May 23rd

1:59PM: Officers were dispatched to Cypress Street for a larceny report. Upon arrival, police spoke to the reporting party who noticed several power tools missing from his garage. The reporting party believes the man responsible is working as a contractor in the area and riding a motorcycle. Officers located the motorcycle in question and found it to be reported stolen. The suspect was located and arrested for receiving stolen property.

Wednesday, May 22nd

2:22PM: Police were dispatched to Harvard Street for a report of shoplifting. The reporting party told officers that a man was caught stuffing shirts into his backpack. The man returned the clothing items and was summonsed for shoplifting. 

3:29PM: Officers responded to Naples Road for a reported theft of a bicycle. The reporting party noticed the bicycle missing at 7:50AM on Monday, May 20^th. The bike was last seen locked to the front porch at 5PM on Sunday, May 19^th. The item is described as a 2014 gray Diamondback Adult Trace hybrid bicycle. Police are investigating. 

Tuesday, May 21st

10:56AM: Officers responded to Heath Street for a report of found property. The reporting party located a bicycle in her front yard against the bushes at 8AM this morning. The bike is a Red Specialized Ruby Expert Road bike with white handlebars and a white seat. There is a Landry’s Bicycle’s sticker on the bike. Police are attempting to identify the owner of the found bike. 

2:05PM:  Multiple units were dispatched to Harvard Street for a shoplifting in progress. The reporting party stated that she noticed a male steal an unknown brand electric scooter from an aisle. The suspect is described as a white male in his 20’s, wearing a white zip-up jacket, light blue jeans, a white hat, and a backpack. Police searched the area but could not locate the subject.

4:08PM: Police were dispatched to Beacon Street for a report of a larceny. The reporting party stated that she last saw her wallet at 2PM when she used it at a Scrub a Dub. She left her vehicle unlocked with her purse in the passenger seat while she spoke to an employee. The reporting party believes this is when her wallet was stolen. This case is under investigation.

8:18PM: Officers responded to Glendale Road for breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, police spoke to the reporting party that stated his car had been entered sometime between 12AM and 8AM on Tuesday, May 21^st. The vehicle was left unlocked overnight. The reporting party was on his way to work when he noticed some of his belongings on the ground outside of the vehicle. He inspected the vehicle further and noticed a cup full of change was missing. This case is being investigated. 

8:24PM: Several units were dispatched to Boylston Street for a report of attempted shoplifting. The manager of a business told police he had seen a man enter the store who had shoplifted in the past. The manager observed the man conceal several items and attempt to flee. The manager confronted the man and the merchandise was returned. Police located a man matching the description of the suspect and arrested him for shoplifting. 

Monday, May 20th

9:10AM: Police were dispatched to Orchard Road for a theft report. Upon arrival, officers spoke to all the residents of a home that had been ransacked recently. The roommates noticed important documents and $300 missing from one of the bedrooms. Officers are investigating this case.

3:34PM: An Officer was dispatched to a business on Commonwealth Avenue for a report of larceny. The reporting party stated that he left his wallet in a secured locker at 2:30PM. When he returned at 3:30PM, the lock was broken off the locker and $90 was missing from his wallet. This case is under investigation.  

9:06PM: Police responded to an unarmed robbery on Harvard Street. Units in the area were searching for a man who had reached over the counter and took money directly out of the cash register. The cashier attempted to block the man, but he said “don’t do that” and continued to steal an unknown amount of cash before fleeing. The subject is described as a 40 year old black male, wearing gray pants, a black zip-up, and a black baseball cap.

Sunday, May 19th

7:57PM: Officers were dispatched to Harvard Street for a report of an unarmed robbery. Two females were walking near Coolidge Corner when a man grabbed one of the women’s’ purses. The male suspect was accompanied by a female. An anonymous Good Samaritan stopped the male and demanded the return of the purse. The suspect let loose of the purse and fled. The female accompanying the male suspect was positively identified by the victim through a “Show Up”. The male was not located. Police are investigating this crime. 

Saturday, May 18th

8:34PM: Officers were dispatched to Greenough Street for a report of suspicious activity. The reporting party told police when she arrived home at 6PM she noticed a bicycle (not belonging to them) hidden in some bushes in her backyard. She asked her husband and he did not observe the bicycle when he left home this morning at 10AM. The bicycle is a black men’s Giant Iguana brand, multi speed bike. The item has been placed into an evidence locker for safe keeping.

10:19PM: Police responded to Goodnough Road for a past breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The reporting party stated that his car was rummaged through while parked overnight on Friday, May 17^th to Saturday morning, May 18^th. He noticed his personal papers were strewn all over the interior but nothing of value was taken. The vehicle was left unlocked. Officers are investigating this case.

10:44PM: A woman came to the police station to report a dog bite. The reporting party was walking to the Brookline Library (Putterham branch) when a dog came running out of a home on West Roxbury Parkway. The dog growled and attacked the girl, ripping her shorts. When the reporting party tried to push the animal away, it bit her on the right hand. The dog is registered with the town and fully updated on their rabies shot.

Friday, May 17th

6:34AM: Police were dispatched to Wolcott Road for a report of breaking and entering with larceny of a motor vehicle. The reporting party last saw her vehicle fully intact on Thursday, May 16^th at 8:30PM. Her husband left the home at 6AM this morning and noticed the passenger side door to be slightly ajar. Upon inspection of the car, they noticed the center console and glove box had been targeted. The reporting party believes the suspect rummaged through her car between 10:30PM, Thursday night, and 6:00AM, Friday morning. This case is under investigation.

8:55AM: Officers were dispatched to Pleasant Street for a package larceny. A woman was supposed to receive a package at 1:18PM on Friday, May 10^th. The reporting party went to the lobby to check for the package at 2PM and again at 6PM. The item stolen was one IPhone XR. This case is being investigating.

10:57AM: Police responded to a breaking and entering and larceny of motor vehicle on Walnut Hill Road. The reporting party parked her car in her driveway at approximately 12PM on Thursday, May 16^th. This morning, at 10:45AM she noticed her center console was open. The reporting party recalled leaving her wallet in the center console. She believes she left her car doors unlocked. Officers are investigating this case.

12:07AM: Police were following up on a series of overnight car breaks near Shaw Road. Police received information from a home owner that he caught a group of suspects on camera trying to break into his car. He also observed the group go next door to his neighbor’s house and observed the suspects enter his neighbor’s car and steal a tan full length women’s coat. Police are investigating.

Thursday, May 16th

9:34AM: A police officer was at Lincoln School when he was approached by a citizen that had found property. The reporting party was cleaning her desk when she found a men’s gold wedding ring that had been turned into her about a year ago. Upon closer look, police noticed the name “Julie” and the date “4/9/18” engraved on the inside band. The item has been placed in an evidence locker for safe keeping.  

2:08PM: A man contacted Brookline Police’s Animal Control unit to report a dog bite. The reporting party was walking his dog off leash at Amory Park at 10:30AM on May, 16^th. The reporting party noticed a large Great Dane that was heading towards his direction. The Great Dane approached the reporting party’s dog and began to bark, snarl, and bite. Once the reporting party separated the animals, he confirmed his dog had no injuries. This is the second time the Great Dane has acted aggressively towards another dog in Amory Park. Both dogs are registered with the town and up to date on their vaccinations. The owner of the Great Dane was given a citation and the animal is suspended from off leash privileges for 30 days.

8:57PM: Officers received a report that a package had been stolen on Parkway Road. The reporting party ordered two pairs of shoes. They were to be delivered on Friday, May 10^th at 12PM. He never received them and has been working with UPS to locate the package. It should be noted that the reporting party has just moved out of Brookline. Police are investigating this case.

Wednesday, May 15th

3:00PM: Officers were dispatched to Saint Paul Street for a report of a past package theft. The reporting party stated that he was expecting a Rocket Book Notebook from EBay to arrive at his apartment. The reporting party received an email from USPS saying his package was delivered at 3:21PM on Monday, May 13^th. When he went to check the vestibule at 5PM, he could not locate the package. This case is under investigation.

Tuesday, May 14th

2:00PM: Police were dispatched to Boylston Street for a loud dispute. Upon arrival, officers noticed several scratch marks on the male’s face. He reported that he was walking by a vehicle with his dog when he became involved in a verbal altercation with the female driver. The driver then ran out of the vehicle and struck the man in the face. The female will be summonsed to court for assault and battery.

4:25PM: A citizen came to the police station to report an incident of road rage on Beacon Street and Marion Street. The reporting party told police that at 8AM this morning, he was walking across Marion Street and Park Street when a vehicle did not stop for him. The pedestrian hit the vehicle with his umbrella as it went by. The driver then stopped in the middle of the intersection, got out of the vehicle, and threatened the pedestrian. The driver was charged with threatening to commit a crime. The pedestrian was charged for malicious damage of a vehicle.

4:29PM: Officers were approached by a citizen on Pleasant Street who stated her purse had been stolen. The reporting party was at the Coolidge Corner Library from approximately 3PM to 4PM. She noticed her purse was missing from the children’s room at 4PM. While using the “Find my IPhone” app officers located the purse in a trash can in the bathroom. The reporting party is still missing her white and brown L’arcobaleno wallet. This case is under investigation.

4:46PM: Police were dispatched to a business on Harvard Street for shoplifting and trespassing. Several employees noticed a woman enter the store who had previously been given a “No Trespass” order. The female quickly left the store without approaching a register. Officers located a woman matching the description and found multiple stolen items in her possession. The suspect was arrested for shoplifting and trespassing.

5:30PM: Officers responded to Harvard Street for a report of a past package theft. The reporting party stated that she received a notification from Amazon that her package had been delivered today at 1:38PM. She returned home at 4:38PM but could not locate the package. The missing parcel was left in a vestibule behind a locked door. Police are investigating.

6:30PM: An Officer was on Dean Road when a vehicle passed by him without a registration sticker. A query of the vehicle came back as stolen. The car ran several stop signs before stopping for officers. The man was placed under arrest. He was charged with receiving a stolen vehicle and carrying a dangerous weapon.

10:14PM: Several units were dispatched to the area of Brookline Village for a report of a person threatened with a firearm. The reporting party told police he had just purchased marijuana from a Marijuana dispensary and was walking home. He heard a man in a squeaky bicycle approach him and ask for a cigarette. The reporting party said he did not have one and crossed the street. He then saw the same man again and worried he was being followed. While walking up Davis Avenue he heard the squeaky wheel again. When the reporting party turned around, the suspect appeared to be holding a small pistol and said “give me the weed or I will shoot you.” Officers in the area located the man responsible. He was arrested for attempting armed robbery and resisting arrest.

Monday, May 13th

1:01PM: Police were dispatched to a residence on High Street for malicious damage. The reporting party arrived home on Sunday, May 12^th, at 10:45PM. She discovered what appeared to be urine on the living room floor near her television. The reporting party also noticed water had been poured on both her televisions. The front door was left unsecured. Police are investigating.

3:18PM: Officers responded to Sumner Road for a larceny of a bicycle. The reporting party last saw his mountain bike in his garage at 9:30PM on Sunday, May 12th. At 11:30AM today, he noticed the bicycle had been stolen. The garage had been left opened overnight. The bike is described as yellow or orange with a Range Rover racing sticker on it. This case is under investigation.

Sunday, May 12th

2:48AM: Police were dispatched to a Bakery on Harvard Street for a report of an armed robbery. The reporting party told police he arrived at work at 1:40AM. He heard a noise and was confronted by a man armed with a knife. The man demanded the victim to “get back” and then the suspect escaped. He stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the registers. The subject was described as a white male wearing all black with a black ski mask. Police are investigating this case.

8:07AM: An anonymous person came to the Police Station to turn in a found tan purse and set of keys. The person said they found the purse in Brookline Village. No one has inquired about the items. The purse is now being secured in an evidence locker.

4:51PM: Officers responded to a report of stolen bicycles on Saint Paul Street. The reporting party stated that at noon today he noticed his two bicycles missing from the garage. He last saw both bicycles on Saturday, May 11^th, at 7PM. The reporting party shares the garage with two other tenants and is unsure whether the door was left open or not. One bike is a Cannondale brand mountain bike and the other is a Specialized brand road bike. This case is under investigation.

6:07PM: Police were called to Lowell Road for a report of a larceny. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the reporting party who stated he last saw his bicycle mid-morning Saturday, May 11^th. He noticed today that his silver Fuji brand 12 speed road bike was missing. The reporting party left his bicycle unsecured against the left side of his house. Police are investigating.

Saturday, May 11th

12:06AM: Police were dispatched to Green Street for a report of larceny. The two reporting parties told officers they observed a man steal a bottle of alcohol. When they attempted to speak with the man, he fled. They called police and officers were able to locate an individual matching the description of the suspect. Officers conducted a Show-Up ID and the reporting parties determined this man was the suspect who stole alcohol from their business. The man was summonsed for larceny.

11:48AM: Officers responded to a report of larceny on Commonwealth Avenue. Police spoke to an employee of the gym. He stated that a suspicious woman entered the business at approximately 9AM to use the restroom. The female left approximately an hour later. At 11:45AM, a woman noticed her bag had been stolen from the locker room. The suspect is described as a white female, 5’4, thin build, septum nose ring, and an undercut with a bun. Police are investigating.

12:24AM: There was a report of a stolen scooter on Francis Street. The reporting party told police she locked her Scooter to the bicycle rack at Pierce School on Thursday, May 9th. She accidentally left it overnight and noticed that at 8AM on Friday, May 10th, the Scooter was missing. The lock was still attached to the bike rack. Police are investigating.

8:45PM: Police were dispatched to Beacon Street for a report of a stolen scooter. The vehicle has been locked to a meter since January. The reporting party last saw the scooter today, May 11th, at 11AM. This evening at around 8:30PM, she noticed it was missing. The vehicle is described as a 2013 Lance Cali Classic Scooter. This case is being investigated.

9:03PM: A female reported the larceny of her wallet from a Hotel on Webster Street. The reporting party stated that she checked into the hotel at 3PM today. She left the room from 3:20PM to 4:20PM. At 4:50PM, she noticed her wallet was missing. Police are investigating.

Friday, May 10th

2:06PM: A student approached an officer at Brookline High School to report a bicycle theft.  The reporting party stated that he parked his bike in the bike rack near the main entrance of school at approximately 8:20AM on Thursday, May 9^th. When he returned at 2:50PM, the bike was gone. The bike is described as a black Raleigh Cadet Hybrid 1. The bicycle was left unsecured in the bike rack during the day. This case is under investigation.

4:13PM: Police were dispatched to Bartlett Crescent for a report of malicious damage. The reporting party showed officers a two inch slash mark in his tire. He stated he parked his car on Thursday, May 9^th at approximately 5PM. When he went to drive to work this morning at 5:30AM, he noticed one his tires was flat. Further inspection of the area showed that other vehicle’s tires were damaged as well. Police are investigating this incident.

8:25PM: Officers were dispatched to Brookline Music School for a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival, police spoke to the reporting party that stated his headphones had been stolen. He left his wireless headphones charging in the building’s basement recording studio. He reports leaving the basement unattended for 5 minutes at 3:15PM. When he returned, his headphones were missing. The item is described as solid gray Apple Inc. Beats by Dre. Police are investigating.

Thursday, May 9th

10:24PM: A man approached an officer at the intersection of Harvard Street and Fuller Street to report a stolen bicycle. The reporting party locked his bike to a meter out front of a restaurant at 9:45PM. When he went outside at 10:15PM his bicycle was missing. While police attempted to find witnesses, a restaurant owner informed officers that the parking meter head was broken and could be lifted off the pole. Police believe this is how the bicycle was stolen. The bike is described as a black, blue, and white Fit brand BMX bicycle. This case is under investigation. 

Monday, May 6th

8:56AM: A citizen came to the Police station to report the past theft of his bicycle. The man stated that he locked his bike in a secured storage area of St. Paul Street in October of 2018. This Saturday, May 4^th 2019, the reporting party discovered that his bike was no longer there. The bike is a 16 Trek X-Caliber that was locked using a “U-Lock.” This case is under investigation.

10:01AM: Police were dispatched to Park Street for a report of a past breaking and entering and larceny. The reporting party told officers his bike had been stolen from the rear hallway. Officers also observed considerable damage to the side door. The reporting party’s girlfriend noticed slight damage at 11AM on Sunday, May 5^th but most of the door was still intact. Police are investigating.

12:01PM: There was a report of an animal bite on Waverly Street. The reporting party told police she was walking her dog when she walked past another person walking their dog. The other dog was acting aggressively and pounced in the direction the reporting party’s dog. She didn’t notice her dog was bleeding until they got home. The other owner was issued a citation for the animal bite.

6:03PM: Officers were dispatched to a residence on Kent Street for a report of larceny. Upon arrival, police spoke to the reporting party. She stated that she could not find two pieces of jewelry and presumed they were stolen. This case is under investigation.

8:11PM: Police responded to a bike theft on Beacon Street. The reporting party claimed that when he left for work this morning at 7:30AM he noticed his bike was missing. The cut bike lock was found at the scene. On Saturday May 4^th at 7:50AM, surveillance footage shows a white male wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue pants, blue and white sneakers, and carrying a gray bag steal the bicycle. This case is under investigation.

Sunday, May 5th

8:48AM: Police were dispatched to White Place for a report of malicious damage. The reporting party stated that on May 3^rd she noticed several eggs had been thrown at the rear of the house. This portion of the home faces the bridge connecting to the Boylston Street playground. This is the second time the house has been hit with eggs. Police are investigating this case. 

Saturday, May 4th

11:36AM: Officers were dispatched to an apartment building on Dean Road for a report of larceny. The reporting party that stated multiple items were taken from her sister-in-law’s home. Police noticed the broken lock on the storage container and observed several boxes to be ripped open. There were also multiple items missing from inside the apartment. Police are investigating. 

6:27PM: Police responded to Beacon Street for a report of past bicycle theft. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the reporting party. He stated that he locked his bike at 11AM to a meter pole. Officers walked the route where the bicycle was parked and could not locate it. The bike is a black Zoyo bicycle that was locked with a black coil key lock. This case is under investigation. 

Friday, May 3rd

1:50PM: Police were dispatched to Hammond Street for a report of malicious damage to a vehicle. The reporting party stated that she was driving down Hammond Street when at the last second she noticed a pedestrian attempting to cross the street. She claimed that since she was in traffic, stopping abruptly would have caused an accident. The driver then watched the pedestrian throw something at her car and heard a loud bang. The reporting party pulled over and noticed two dents above the passenger side door. The driver attempted to speak with the woman but she fled and could not be located by police. This case is under investigation. 

Thursday, May 2nd

2:21PM: Police responded to Egmont Street for a report of a past larceny. On Saturday, April 27^th, the reporting party arrived home with her son and hid $7,000 in cash in a white envelope inside a drawer. This morning, she went to retrieve the money but could not locate it. The reporting party and her son searched the entire house without luck. They believe the money was stolen sometime between 9AM on Monday, April 29^th and 5:30PM on Wednesday, May 1^st. Police are investigating.

9:36PM: Officers were dispatched to multiple locations within Sectors 8 and 9 for a report of political signs being taken. On Hammond Street, police noticed several signs missing from multiple homes. Signs were taken from both public and private properties. There were thefts of this nature on at least five different streets in the area. People should avoid putting signs on public property as the town may take them. This case is under investigation.

Tuesday, April 30th

2:24PM: Officers were dispatched to Waverly Street for a breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle. The reporting party stated that he parked his car in his open garage at 1PM on Sunday, April 28^th. On Tuesday at 1PM, the reporting party noticed his vehicle had been rummaged through. He found the center console open and five dollars in quarters were missing. The vehicle was left unlocked. Police are investigating.

Monday, April 29th

1:08AM: Police were dispatched to Tappan Street for a report of breaking and entering in progress. Upon arrival, police spoke to the reporting parties. They told police that they heard the sound of glass breaking at 1:05AM. They called out to the person, hoping it was one of their downstairs tenants. When no one responded, they called police. Officers quickly searched the area but could not locate the suspect. The front door was found ajar. Nothing appeared to be missing from the home. This case is under investigation.

8:54AM: Officers responded to Oakland Road for a report of a past breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The reporting party stated she parked her car at around 6PM on Sunday, April 28^th. On Monday morning at 8AM, she discovered that her car had been rummaged through overnight. The vehicles center console was open and its contents were on the passenger seat. The reporting party stated that approximately $20.00 in quarters was missing and presumed stolen from the middle console. Police are investigating.

5:26PM: There was a report of a package theft on Marion Street. Upon arrival, police spoke to the reporting party that stated when she arrived home her package was missing. She received an email from Amazon at 3:01PM indicating that her package had been delivered and left in a "secure" area. But when she arrived home at 4PM, she could not locate the package. This case is under investigation.

Sunday, April 28th

5:48PM: Officers were dispatched to Intervale Road for a larceny report. The reporting party explained that he had an estate sale at his home today and the public was invited. At 3pm, the reporting party noticed his iPad was missing. The item is a black and silver iPad 3 in a red case. Police are investigating.

8:15PM: Police were called to Longwood Avenue for a past package theft. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the reporting party that stated a package containing a computer mouse has been stolen. He received an email from UPS on Thursday, April 25^th, that his package had been delivered at 3:50PM. The reporting party asked his roommate and confirmed the package was safely in the vestibule. When the reporting party arrived home later that night, the item was missing and presumed stolen.

Friday, April 26th

7:23AM: Police were dispatched to Payson Road for a report of stolen tires. The reporting party explained that he parked his car in the driveway the night before at approximately 11pm. All of his tires and rims were still attached at this time. When he saw the car at 7am the next day, he noticed it was propped up on milk crates and three out of the four tires and rims had been removed from the vehicle. This case is under investigation.

Thursday, April 25th

2:58PM: Officers were dispatched to Cypress Street for a report of a package theft. Upon arrival, police spoke to the reporting party that stated she returned home on Wednesday, April 24^th at approximately 8pm. When she arrived home, she found the Amazon package she ordered was delivered, but the box was opened and the contents were missing. Police are investigating.

5:27PM: Police were dispatched to the Brookline Public Library for a report of a stolen purse. The reporting party explained that she was sitting at a large table when she placed her black purse on a chair next to her. A short time later, a skinny female with short hair and wearing all black sat down next to her. The female placed a jacket over the chair where the purse was located. When the female got up a few minutes later, the reporting party noticed her bag was missing. This case is under investigation.

Wednesday, April 24th

6:34PM: Officers were dispatched to Monmouth Street for a bike larceny. The reporting party stated that he locked his bike to a fence in front of his house at approximately 6PM. When his wife arrived home she noticed the bike was missing. After checking the home’s surveillance camera, they observed a man steal the bicycle using a small pair of bolt cutters to defeat the lock. The bicycle is described as a blue bike with saddlebags on either side. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male wearing a blue jacket, blue pants, white shoes, and carrying a black backpack. Police conducted a search of the area, but could not locate the suspect. 

8:14PM: Police were dispatched to a business on Beacon Street for a report of shoplifting. Dispatch notified officers that two suspects shoplifted from the store and were running down Beacon Street followed by a store employee. Upon arrival police observed two individuals matching the description now standing about a block from the store. The two parties were positively identified by the reporting party. Both individuals were arrested for shoplifting.

Tuesday, April 23rd

12:46PM: Officers were dispatched to Franklin Street for a larceny report. The reporting party told police him and his family were getting ready to go on vacation this afternoon. He placed four luggage bags out on the sidewalk in front of their home at approximately 12:20pm. When the father returned to the sidewalk about five minutes later, all the bags were missing. The items are described as three large dark bags and one small red one. This case is under investigation.

1:50PM: An officer took a report of larceny from a multi-residential building on Centre Street. Officers spoke to the reporting party who claimed he left his backpack in one of the building’s hallways. He last saw the backpack at 12PM. When he returned to retrieve the item at 12:40PM it was missing. The bag contained $500 cash and headphones. Police are investigating.

2:33PM: Police responded to Saint Paul Street for a stolen bicycle report. The woman had last seen her bike locked to the railing outside her apartment door at approximately 4:30pm on Sunday, April 21^st. This afternoon, her daughter asked to ride the bike and she realized that it, and the lock, was missing. The bicycle is a black men’s Trek mountain bike. Police are investigating.

7:59PM: Police were dispatched to a business on Beacon Street for a report of shoplifting. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the store manager that stated a man stole a number of steaks and chicken then fled to Longwood Avenue exit. The suspect was observed getting onto a bicycle on Longwood Avenue and then turning right onto Sewall Avenue. The man was described as a dark-skinned male in a green coat. Police were unable to locate the subject.

Monday, April 22nd

1:23AM: Officers were dispatched to Village Way for a disturbance. Police spoke to the reporting party who told them he heard a loud thump from outside his residence. When he opened his door, he found his neighbor standing outside. The reporting party turned to go back into his residence and heard another loud noise as the door closed. The reporting party realized his neighbor had tried to throw a large chunk of asphalt at him. Officers responding in the area found a man matching the description of the suspect. When officers attempted to speak with the man, he fled. The suspect was arrested and charged with assault and battery, resisting arrest, vandalism, and other crimes.

8:37AM: A man reported a past package theft from his building. The reporting party told police that he received a confirmation that his package had been delivered at 2:34pm on Friday, April 19^th.  When he returned to his residence at 4:30pm, the package was not in the foyer. This case is being investigated.

1:15PM: Police were dispatched to a business on Commonwealth Avenue for a report of shoplifting. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the loss prevention manager that stated a man concealed items and fled the store. Police in the area noticed a man matching the suspect’s description. While talking to the man they found he was still in possession of one of the stolen items. The man was arrested and charged with shoplifting.

5:41PM: Officers were called to Freeman Street to take a report for a stolen bike. The owner told police that he noticed the bicycle missing this morning. The reporting party recalled in the past few days he forgot to lock up the bike. While checking surveillance footage he observed a man steal the bicycle at 5:19am on Friday, April 19^th. The bike is a dark blue Men’s Trek SU200. The suspect is described as a white male with dark balding hair, wearing a dark jacket, white shoes, and a backpack. This case is being investigated.

5:44PM: Police received reports of a road rage incident on Beacon Street. The reporting party told police that she was driving on Beacon Street when a woman walked in front of her vehicle. The driver honked at the woman and the pedestrian walked over to the driver’s window and began slapping at the window and the driver. The pedestrian then reached inside the vehicle. In a panic, the driver then rolled up the window, trapping the woman’s arms, and accelerated away from the intersection. The woman was dragged approximately 5 feet off the road before the driver stopped. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital for swelling in her arms. The pedestrian will be summonsed for assault and battery against the driver.

Sunday, April 21st

1:37PM: Police were dispatched to University Road for a past bike theft. The reporting party noticed a bike missing from their garage at 7am on Wednesday, April 10^th. The bike was last seen at 5pm on Saturday, April 6^th. The bike is described as a vintage style Raleigh brand bike, maroon in color with a round seat and damage to a tire fender. This case is under investigation.

3:08PM: Officers were called to a business on Harvard Street for shoplifting. The reporting party stated that around 3pm she noticed a man enter the store and begin rearranging clothing items. He then placed several items under his jacket and fled the business. While searching, police noticed a man matching the description of the suspect walking near Coolidge Corner. Officers stopped the man and found him to be carrying a paper bag of the stolen clothing items. The suspect was arrested for shoplifting.

Saturday, April 20th

8:22AM: Officers were dispatched to Chestnut Place for a report of a stolen motor vehicle. The car was last seen parked in the driveway at 11:30pm on April 19th. When they woke up the next morning, they could not locate the vehicle. The vehicle is described as a black 2015 Toyota Land Cruiser. Police are investigating.

10:27PM: Police received reports of a person without pants on near the intersection of Harvard Street and Washington Street. The reporting party told police he saw a fully nude man smoking a cigarette. The reporting party also advised police that the suspect had now put his clothes back on. Officers spoke to the subject, who was positively identified, and he agreed to be transported to the hospital for evaluation. The man will also be summonsed to court for indecent exposure.

Friday, April 19th

8:30AM: Police received a report of a past dog bite in Griggs Park. The reporting party’s dog was chasing a bird when it ran by another dog who was sitting. As the dog ran by the sitting dog it bit the running dog causing the dog to yelp. At the time the owner of the bit dog did not noticed their dog was injured until they went home. As a precaution the owner brought the dog to a vet. They are now attempting to locate and identify the attacking dog. The attacking dog is described as a brown, possibly a wheaten terrier or golden doodle named “Elie.” Police are investigating.

Thursday, April 18th

1:07AM: Police were dispatched to an apartment building on Kent Street for a report of a woman with a knife. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the reporting party that stated a resident had threatened her with a knife. The suspect was originally uncooperative with officers. Eventually she agreed to be transported to a hospital for evaluation.  The suspect will be summonsed for assault with a deadly weapon.

9:49AM: A citizen reported a larceny of a lawn sign from his home on Carlton Street last night. On Wednesday, April 17^th at 9:33PM, the reporting party received an email that a sign had been removed from his driveway. At 9:52PM, the reporting party double checked and confirmed a political sign had been removed from his lawn. This is not the first incident. Police are investigating.

12:20PM: Several officers were dispatched to Harvard Street for a man causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, police spoke to a man who had been threatened by the suspect. When officers attempted to speak with the suspect, he was uncooperative and hostile. The man attempted to flee the scene after throwing his ID at an officer but was arrested. The suspect will be charged with aggravated assault and battery and resisting arrest.

2:41PM: Police were called to Boylston Street for a report of breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle. The reporting party stated that he noticed several electric power tools missing from his tool station. He had last used them on Saturday, April 13^th to work on a vehicle. When he checked the surveillance footage, he observed a male riding a bicycle into the property. Cameras show the suspect rummaging through several different areas and leaving with two bags. Police are investigating.

Wednesday, April 17th

12:14PM: Police were dispatched to a residence on Newton Street for a report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers noticed force had been applied to the front door and entry gained. Electronics and jewelry were stolen from the home. This case is active and under investigation.

Tuesday, April 16th

2:18PM: A citizen came to the Police Station to report a larceny. The reporting party told police that on Monday, April 15^th, he parked his pick-up truck in a driveway of a job site on Hammond Street for about fifteen minutes. There were three boxes of door hardware in the bed of the truck. When he returned to the truck all three boxes were missing. The reporting party believes that a passerby may have seen the boxes and stole them. Police are investigating.

Monday, April 15th

2:35PM: Police were called to Brookline Avenue Playground for a human bit by a dog. Upon arrival, police noticed a woman visibly upset with several puncture wounds to her palm and fingers. She was transported to the hospital for further evaluation. Witnesses told officers that two dogs got into a fight and the woman was bitten while trying to separate the animals.

3:18PM: Officers were dispatched to a business on Harvard Street for shoplifting. The reporting party explained to police that in the past a man has been taking items from the store without paying. Today, the reporting party witnessed the man steal a drink and then leave the store. Officers found the suspect nearby still with the stolen item. Police informed the man that he will be summonsed to court for shoplifting. In addition, the man was issued a verbal “No Trespass Order” from the store on Harvard Street.

Sunday, April 14th

8:14AM: Officers were dispatched to a business on Beacon Street for a report of a larceny. An employee stated that she arrived at work at 6am, and placed her purse in a locker in the employee locker room. At approximately 8am, she returned and noticed $500 missing from her wallet. The locker where her purse was kept was unlocked. This case is under investigation.

Saturday, April 13th

1:05PM: Officers were called to Green Street for a report of malicious damage. The reporting party told police that when she returned home after a walk she noticed feces smeared on her mailbox. It appears the act was intentional. Police are investigating.

2:28PM: Police were dispatched to a business on Harvard Street for shoplifting. The store manager told officers that a man entered the store and immediately began filling a reusable bag with handfuls of t-shirts. He then exited the store and fled in the direction of Beacon Street. The suspect is described as a white male, wearing a maroon t-shirt, blue jeans, a baseball cap with a white logo, and a tan backpack. Several units canvassed the area but could not locate the suspect.

6:27PM: Police were dispatched to Cameron Street for a report of a past bike theft. The reporting party stated that this morning he noticed his bicycle helmet in the walkway in front of his house. When he checked the shed, his two bikes were missing. The first one is a black and grey men’s Specialized hybrid bicycle and the second is a purple women’s Trek mountain bike with a basket. The reporting party last saw both bicycles four months ago. Police are investigating.

Friday, April 12th

1:12PM: Officers were dispatched to White Place for a report of a past package theft. The reporting party explained to police that she ordered jewelry and was notified it has been delivered. When she arrived home from work at 5pm on April 9^th, the package was not at her door. She eventually contacted the delivery service who told her the package was left and signed for at 1:24pm on April 9^th, 2019. Police are investigating.

Wednesday, April 10th

4:02PM: An officer was dispatched to the Baker School for a report of graffiti. Upon arrival, the officer noticed several items spray painted in black paint on the exterior walls of the school. The graffiti appeared to be homophobic in nature. Photos were taken. This case is under investigation.

Home Invasion on Walnut Street

11:29PM: Police were dispatched to Walnut Street for a report of a home invasion. The reporting party stated that two white men in masks attacked him with a shotgun. The reporting party and his friend were in the apartment when they heard a hard pounding on the back door. When they opened the door, two masked men pointed a shotgun at them and forced their way into the home. An altercation ensued and the men were able to push the suspects back into the hallway and then into a window. The suspects fled. It appears this was an isolated incident. Both subjects have been located and are facing charges. While on scene Officers discovered an illegal grow operation of marijuana plants in the apartment. The residents/victims are also facing charges.

Tuesday, April 9th

8:40AM: Police were dispatched to Sewall Avenue for a report of past attempted larceny from a building. At 7:30am the reporting party noticed several boxes in the lobby that had been opened and the contents strewn about the floor. The man stated that he remembers seeing the boxes, unopened and neatly stacked in the lobby at 9pm the previous night. It was determined that some of the contents from the boxes appear to be missing. Access to the area where the boxes were kept requires a key. Police are investigating.

9:24AM: Officers were dispatched to Carton Street for a report of a larceny. The reporting party told police that this morning, at 8:30am, he noticed a political sign missing from his lawn. Other neighbors have signs in front of their property and it appears the reporting party was targeted specifically. This case is under investigation.

4:00PM: Police officers responded to an assault in a business on Boylston Street. The owner of the store stated that at 2pm a man entered the store and began yelling and threatening him. The suspect then attempted to steal a jacket from the store’s sale rack but was stopped by the owner. The reporting party asked the man to leave and the suspect started to throw merchandise across the store. The man fled before police arrived. The suspect was later identified and summoned to court for assault, disorderly, and shoplifting.

Monday, April 8th

3:59PM: A citizen came to the police station to report a larceny from his vehicle. The reporting party stated that on Sunday, April 7^th at approximately 12pm he parked his rental car near Washington Street and Brookline Avenue. He left his cell phone in the unlocked rental car. When he returned at 1pm, the phone was missing. The item is a black and white Google Pixel XL2. This is under investigation.

6:33PM: Officers were dispatched to an apartment building on Beacon Street for the report of trespassing. Upon arrival officers were advised that a woman, known to the reporting party, was found sleeping in one of the units. The reporting party was unsure of how the woman gained entry to the building and the apartment. Officers made contact with the woman in the unit and also discovered a man in the room as well. The woman suspect has been served multiple orders for “No Trespassing” in the past and was arrested for said charge.

Sunday, April 7th

2:12AM: Police were dispatched to Saint Paul Street for suspicious activity. Two tenants both reported hearing someone open their front door and enter the house. Before either roommate could say anything, the suspect retreated back to the front door and left the area. Police searched the apartment, and surrounding area, but did could not locate anyone. Nothing in the apartment appears to be missing.

2:15AM: Officers were dispatched to Beacon Street for an assault and battery. The reporting party told police he asked his roommate’s girlfriend to leave their apartment. She refused and an argument ensued. The verbal argument led to a physical altercation where the reporting party was scratched in the face. The female will be summonsed to court for assault and battery.

Saturday, April 6th

11:38AM: Officers were dispatched to a business on Commonwealth Avenue for a larceny report. Two cashiers told police that at 11:29am, they noticed a white male, approximately 5’8, enter the store wearing a black jacket and a blue and white hat with a pom pom. He quickly grabbed a black leather briefcase off a shelf and fled before either cashier could identify or stop him. The employees had never seen the man before and he did not make any purchases. This case is under investigation.

3:48PM: Officers were dispatched to a business on Harvard Street for shoplifting. The loss prevention employee noticed a woman “shoveling” items into two bags. The woman left the store and the employee followed her. Police caught up to the suspect and found she had stolen numerous items of clothing. The clothing was returned to the store. The suspect was served with a “No Trespass Order” and will be summonsed to court for shoplifting.

9:32PM: Police were dispatched to Commonwealth Avenue for larceny.  Two parties informed officers that they had their personal belongings stolen from a storage closet located in the rear of the businesses. The storage closet door, which is usually locked, was unlocked at the time the victims noticed their items missing. A rear garage door which could be used for entry, was also half-way open at this time. One of the parties remembered last seeing her property in the secured closet at approximately 5pm. Police are reviewing surveillance footage from the incident.

Friday, April 5th

4:17PM: Police were dispatched to Sewall Avenue for a past package theft. The reporting party arrived home at 3:30pm. She noticed the package but could not retrieve it. Her husband arrived home at 4:10pm, and on his way in to the apartment noticed the package to be torn open. The reporting party went to inspect the package and noticed three items of clothing missing. Police are investigating.

Thursday, April 4th

11:02AM: Police were dispatched to Claflin Road for a dog bite. The reporting party stated that he was walking his dog when he was approached by his neighbor and their dog. The neighbor’s dog jumped up to the reporting party and bit him on the left knee. There was bruising and redness to the man’s leg. The neighbor’s dog is registered with the town and up to date on his rabies vaccination. The neighbor was issued a citation for his dog.

3:32PM: A citizen came to the Police Department to report the larceny of his cell phone. The reporting party told officers that he lost his phone at Coolidge Corner School sometime between 12:30pm and 2:30pm. The last known location of the phone was in the school’s library. This case is being investigated.

Wednesday, April 3rd

5:06PM: Officers were dispatched to Beacon Street for a past package theft. The reporting party told police that at 6:40pm on Thursday, March 28^th, an Amazon package was delivered to the vestibule of her building. When she arrived back home at 8:15pm, the package was missing. The package contained a Chromebook laptop.  This case is under investigation.

Tuesday, April 2nd

6:08PM: Police were dispatched to Dean Road for a package theft. The reporting party told officers that at 3:45pm, two packages were delivered to his residence by Amazon. After reviewing surveillance footage it was determined that at 5:37pm, a man got out of a blue minivan, walked up to the door, and grabbed the two packages. The man then left the area. The suspect is described as wearing a white, yellow, and dark blue or black striped sweatshirt with matching pants, and the word “MOTORSPORTS” written across the chest.  Police are investigating.

Monday, April 1st

3:55AM: Officers were dispatched to Park Street for a report of bat exposure. The reporting party told police that on Sunday, March 31^st at around 11am, she felt something on her head. She swatted away what turned out to be a bat. The reporting party killed the bat and transported herself to the hospital for medical attention. Police later collected the deceased bat for rabies testing.

7:58AM: Police met with a Brookline Parks Department employee who was reporting a graffiti complaint. The employee pointed out a wall near Halls Pond where the graffiti was. It appeared as if someone had been sleeping in the area. This is under investigation.

4:13PM: Officers were dispatched to Beacon Street for a report of a package theft. The reporting party told police that he ordered a computer keyboard through the Apple store. The delivery system told him his package would be delivered by 5pm on Monday, April 1^st. At 3:39pm, he received a message alerting him that the package had been delivered. When he arrived home at approximately 4 pm the package was missing. Police are investigating.

4:29PM: An Officer was dispatched to Brookline Fire Station 5 (Babcock Street) for the report of a burglary. A locker in the fire station was tampered with. On Sunday, March 31^st, a firefighter noticed a padlock to his locker was broken. The locker appeared to be entered and its contents rifled through. The locker was last seen intact on Thursday, March 28^th at 8am. Nothing appears to have been stolen. Police are investigating.

Sunday, March 31st

10:55AM: Police were dispatched to Walnut Street for a report of malicious damage. The reporting party told officers that on Saturday, March 30^th, he parked in the same spot he has been parking in for years. This morning, a neighbor came over to tell him about the new damage she noticed on his vehicle. The left side rear panel is broken. The reporting party does not know anyone who would want to vandalize his property. There are cameras are in the area. Police are investigating 

12:54PM: A citizen came to the Police Station to report malicious damage of his vehicle. The reporting party told officers that on Sunday, March 31^st he parked his car on Chestnut Street at approximately 8am. When the party returned at 12pm, he noticed three large scratches on the passenger side of the vehicle. Officers determined the damage to be from a key. The reporting party does not know anyone who would cause damage to his vehicle. Police are investigating.

3:23PM: A woman reported a larceny from her residence. She told police that she was packing up her apartment on Beacon Street when she noticed a few rings missing from her jewelry box. The reporting party last wore the rings in July of 2018. There were other pieces of jewelry in the box but the items taken were the only items of value. This case is under investigation.

Friday, March 29th

4:54PM: Police were dispatched to Woodland Road for a past larceny. The reporting party noticed a copper drainpipe missing from the front of his residence. The drainpipe was last seen on February 28^th, 2019. The pipe is approximately twelve feet long. Police are investigating.
