Sector 2

Shoplifting: 2/5 at 5:00 PM- Harvard St.

A Walgreen’s employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that she observed an individual place items in a personal bag and leave the store without paying. The suspect fled on Harvard St. Officers were unable to locate a suspect matching the description.

Sector 4

Arrest: 2/6 at 12:05 PM- Washington St./Juniper St.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had an outstanding warrant out of Maine. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Washington St. and Juniper St. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Operating after Suspension: 2/7 at 1:03 AM- Harvard St. / Webster St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling on Harvard St. with a broken tail light. The officer initiated a traffic stop at Harvard St. and Webster St. A license and registration check revealed that the driver had a suspended license as well as a warrant out of Roxbury District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension and the warrant.

Sector 5

Shoplifting: 2/6 at 836 PM- Washington St.

A CVS employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that he observed a suspect conceal items in his jacket and flee the store without paying. Officers were able to stop an individual in the area who matched the description given by the employee. The employee positively identified the subject as the shoplifter. The suspect will be summonsed to court.

B&E MV/ Larceny: 2/7 at 2:57 AM- Clinton Rd.

An officer observed a suspicious male subject walking on Clinton Rd. The officer conducted a stop of this individual and he was found to be in possession of a large amount of spare change and an iPod. The owner of the iPod was contacted and it was confirmed that it had been stolen from his unlocked vehicle on Clinton Rd. The suspect was placed under arrest for Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle with Intent to Commit a Felony and Larceny over $250. There were several other car breaks reported in the area overnight.

Sector 7

Arrest: 2/6 at 5:25 AM- Clyde St./Larkin Rd.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Clyde St. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Clyde St. at Larkin Rd. A license and registration check revealed that the driver had an expired license. The driver was placed under arrest for Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

OUIL: 2/7 at 1:59 AM- Chestnut St. / Kendall St.

Officers responded to the area of Chestnut St and Kendall St. for a noise complaint originating from MV parked on Chestnut St. listening to loud music. Upon arrival the officers observed a vehicle stopped in the middle of the street with the engine running. The driver of the vehicle was asleep upon officers’ arrival. The officers could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the occupant. Based on the observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor. He was additionally charged with Operating after Suspension and Open Container.

 Arrest  2/7 at 2:57am  Clinton Rd

 While on Clinton Rd an Officer observed someone who appeared to be concealing himself behind a tree.  

The Officer stopped and identified the subject. During this time, the defendant appeared nervous and kept looking both to his right and left and not making eye contact with the officer.

 The officer noticed the suspect had an IPOD hanging out of the top left pocket of his coat.

Officers spoke with a homeowner on Clinton Rd, who identified and confirmed his IPOD was stolen from his vehicle. 

Based on the above facts, at that time, the suspect was placed into custody and transported for booking to the Brookline Police Station.

Three individuals reported their wallets stolen from unlocked lockers in the female locker room at a gym on Harvard St.

Shoplifting: 2/4 at 12:30 PM- Beacon St.

A Trader Joe’s employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that she witnessed an individual leave the store without purchasing items in his carriage. The individual fled towards Beacon St. and was not located by police.

Public Meeting, Monday 7:00PM Devotion School

There will be a public meeting focused on the neighborhood of Saint Paul street, Crownenshield road, Pleasant street, Freeman street, and Amory street. The meeting is Monday February 11th at 7:00PM, Devotion School cafeteria, 345 Harvard Street Brookline. Chief Daniel O'Leary from Brookline Police along with Chief Robbins from BU police will be in attendance. Topics to be discussed include the recent robberies and the arrest made. Brookline Police will discuss the enforcement efforts at the quality of life issues in the area.

A Salisbury Rd. resident reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle and stole spare change sometime during the overnight hours.

A Salisbury Rd. resident reported the breaking and entering of two motor vehicles. The victim stated that someone had entered two unlocked vehicles and stole spare change and an iPod sometime during the overnight hours.

Burglary: 2/3- Atherton Rd.

An Atheron Rd. resident reported a breaking and entering. The victim stated that sometime after 2:00 PM, someone entered her apartment and went through her drawers. The victim did not report any missing from the residence.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling on Boylston St. at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A license and registration check revealed that the operator had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal U-Turn on Harvard St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A license and registration check revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The operator was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Package Theft: Between 2/1 and 2/2- Dwight St.

A Dwight St. resident reported the larceny of a package. The victim stated that a package was confirmed delivered and left at the front door of her residence on 2/1. However, when she attempted to retrieve the package it was missing.

B&E MV: Between 2/2 and 2/3- Salisbury Rd.

A Salisbury Rd. resident reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that someone had entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her iPod sometime between 7:00 PM and 8:00 AM.

Warrant: 2/1 at 1:50 PM- Washington St.

An individual reported to the police station in order to have her vehicle released after it had been towed. A query of the individual’s information revealed that she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. The individual was placed under arrest for the warrant.

OUIL: 2/3 at 3:42 AM- Washington St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with a noticeably flat tire. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. Upon reaching the vehicle, the officer noticed major front end damage to the vehicle. Additionally, the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. Based on the officer’s observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

B&E MV: Between 2/2 and 2/3- Stanton Rd.

A Stanton Rd. resident reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle sometime between 8:00 PM and 7:15 AM. Nothing was reported stolen from the vehicle.

A Lowell Rd. resident reported a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that someone entered her unlocked vehicle some time during the overnight hours. CDs were reported missing from the vehicle.

An individual reported a larceny from her locker in a gym on Commonwealth Ave. The victim stated that she placed her property in a locker in the female locker room and when she returned she discovered that her lock had become undone. Several items were reported stolen.

Operating after Suspension: 2/1 at 1:42 AM- Washington St.

A vehicle was traveling without an inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. A license and registration check revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Operating after Suspension: 2/1 at 10:02 AM- Harvard St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with a rejection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Harvard and Webster streets. A license and registration check revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Armed Robbery Arrest

Brookline Police Press Release


Two subjects have been arrested for the recent armed robbery and stabbing at Pleasant Street and Browne Street on Jan 29th.

This afternoon officers from the department took into custody Wallace Vick, dob. 7-12-93, age 19 from Gaylord Street in Dorchester and Shaqone Cazeau, dob. 9-10-92, age 20, from Lindsey Street Boston.

Both are being charged with Armed Robbery While Masked and Armed Assault With Intent to Murder.

Both are currently being held on bail, they should be arraigned tomorrow at the Brookline District court on Washington Street.

Sector 1

B&E MV: 1/31 between 4:00 and 7:00 AM- Browne St.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that someone had broken into his vehicle that had been parked on Browne St. sometime between 4:00 AM and 7:00 AM. A GPS unit was reported missing.

Robbery: 1/29 at 8:31 PM- Browne St./ Pleasant St.

Officers responded to Pleasant Street at Browne Street for a report of a street robbery. The victim stated that he was grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground and had his laptop, a cell phone and an iPad stolen as he was walking on Pleasant Street. The victim stated that he was attacked by two male subjects that had been sitting on the steps in front of a Pleasant Street address. The suspects were both described as being about 5'10" tall, wearing black sweatshirts or fleece jackets, and blue jeans with masks covering their faces. The victim stated that the suspects fled down Browne Street towards St. Paul Street. The victim sustained a non-life threatening stab wound.

Arrest: 1/30 at 9:05 PM

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had outstanding warrants for his arrest out of Dorchester District Court. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Longwood Ave and Kent St. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for the warrants.

OUIL: 1/30 at 3:10 AM- Harvard St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Harvard St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. Upon reaching the driver’s window the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the interior. Based on the officer’s observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

Not Duly Licensed: 1/30 at 1:27 AM- Washington St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling without an inspection sticker. The officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Washington Street and Holden Street. A license and registration check revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

B&E MV: Between 1/29 and 1/30- VFW Pkwy.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that someone had entered her unlocked car while it was parked in a driveway on VFW Parkway and stole a GPS unit.

Update on armed robbery

Armed robbery 1-29-13 at 8:30 PM at Browne and Pleasant Streets. The police department is working on this case and has developed some leads. This case is not connected to the prior case earlier this month, for which there was an arrest made.  We are working with BU police and have increased patrols in marked and unmarked cars. Officers responded to TJ Maxx for a shoplifting report. A loss prevention officer observed an individual conceal merchandise and flee the store towards Commonwealth Ave. The suspect was described as a W/M, late 40s, dressed in all black clothing, and carrying a black backpack. A search of the area did not yield any results.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Boylston St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A license and registration check revealed that the vehicle was uninsured. The operator will be summonsed to court for Operating a MV without Insurance.

Officers responded to the area of Englewood Ave. for a report of malicious damage. A resident stated that a suspect broke a pane of glass in the foyer of a building and left towards Beacon St. Officers stopped an individual who matched the description in the area. The resident identified the individual as the person who broke the glass, and he was placed under arrest for Malicious Damage.

An officer took a report for a burglary that occurred at an office on Beacon St. The victim stated that she left her office around 12:00 PM on 1/24, and when she returned she discovered that the front door was ajar and the office had been rummaged through. An iPad, a laptop, and a pair of eyeglasses were reported stolen.

A Lawton St. resident reported the theft of a bicycle. The bicycle was stolen from an open and unlocked garage.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at Netherlands Rd. and Parkway Rd. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Brookline Ave. A license and registration check revealed that the operator had a revoked license. Burglary: 1/23 between 9:15 AM and 2:06 PM- Cypress St.

A Cypress St. resident reported a breaking and entering. The victim stated that upon returning to her home she discovered that the door had been forced open. A laptop, video games, and a camera were reported missing from the residence.

An officer observed a vehicle facing the wrong direction on Cypress St. A license and registration check revealed that the operator had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling without headlights and at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Beacon St. Upon reaching the driver’s window, the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. Based on the officer’s observations, the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

Arrest: 1/18 at 6:30 PM- Harvard St.

Officers responded to TJ Maxx on Harvard St. for the report of a shoplifting. A loss prevention employee stated that he observed a subject concealing items in a jacket. The subject had a default warrant out of Waltham District Court. The subject was placed under arrest for the warrant and Shoplifting.

Robbery: 1/19 at 12:11 AM- St. Paul St./ Freeman St.

Three victims reported a robbery in the area of Freeman St. and St. Paul St. The victims stated that they were approached from behind by two males, one of which displayed a firearm and demanded that the victims hand over their purses. Suspect 1 was described as a white male in his mid-twenties, with a medium build, approximately 6'3" tall, with a large nose and unshaven. Suspect 2 was described as a white male in his mid-twenties, with a medium, approximately 6'3" tall. The suspects grabbed the victims’ purses and iPhones and fled towards Commonwealth Ave. A search of the area did not yield any results.

Operating after Revocation: 1/20 at 5:57 PM- Babcock St.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had a revoked license. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Babcock St. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation.

B&E MV: 1/9- Egmont St.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that her car was parked in a lot on Egmont St. The victim stated that she heard her car alarm and observed two people fleeing towards St. Paul St. The suspects entered through an unlocked door and stole cigarettes, cash, and a key.

Operating after Suspension: 1/18 at 9:07 PM- Boylston St.

An officer observed a vehicle travel through a red light onto Boylston St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. at Cypress St. A license and registration check revealed that the driver had a suspended license and a default warrant out of Waltham District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for the warrant and Operating after Suspension.

OUIL: 1/19 at 5:14 PM- School St./ Harvard St.

Officers assisted individuals exchange papers following a motor vehicle accident. Officers could detect an odor of alcohol emanating from the operator of one of the vehicles. Based on the officer’s observations the individual was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had a suspended license. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and she was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Arrest: 1/19 at 3:04 AM- Boylston St.

Officers responded to Boylston St. for a report of a single motor vehicle accident. A license and registration of the operator revealed that he was not licensed to drive in Massachusetts and that he had two warrants out of Attleboro District Court. The operator was placed under arrest for the warrants and Not Duly Licensed

A Dudley St. resident reported the breaking and entering of a MV. The victim stated that someone had broken into his vehicle and stolen loose change.

B&E MV- Between 1/16 and 1/17- Bartlett Cres.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that he parked his vehicle in a lot on Bartlett Crescent on 1/16 at approximately 11:00 PM. When he returned the next morning at 7:30 AM he discovered that the driver’s side rear door was smashed. The victim stated that a back pack was stolen from the vehicle.

An officer observed a vehicle travel through a red light on Cypress St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Cypress Street at Mulford Street. A license and registration check revealed that the operator did not have a license. The driver was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

A Kent St. resident reported a breaking and entering. The victim stated that when she returned home, she discovered that someone had entered the apartment and stolen a laptop and jewelry.

A Sumner Rd. resident reported a breaking and entering. The victim stated that when she returned to her home she discovered that her front door had been forced open and that her home had been ransacked.

An officer observed an individual removing items from a shed and a dumpster outside a business on Commonwealth Ave. The individual was removing car batteries from the shed and placing them in his vehicle. An officer observed a vehicle traveling on Boylston St. at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A license and registration check revealed that the operator’s license was suspended. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

MV Theft: 1/13 at 3:31 PM- Lyman Rd.

A Lyman Rd. resident reported two motorcycles stolen from a storage container. The victim stated that he last saw the motorcycles in 2010.

Arrest: 1/13 at 8:23 PM- Winthrop Rd.

A Winthrop St. resident reported that his bicycle had been stolen from the basement and that he suspected someone was sleeping in the basement without authorization. Officers observed an individual sleeping on a mattress in the basement. The individual was placed under arrest for Trespassing. The arrestee was also charged with Breaking and Entering with Intent to Commit a Felony after the bicycle was recovered.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Goddard Ave. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Goddard Ave. A license and registration check revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Burglary: 1/11- Hammond St.

A Hammond St. resident reported a breaking and entering. The victim stated that when he arrived home, he discovered that someone had entered the residence and rummaged  through a bedroom.

B&E: Between 1/10 and 1/12- Waverly St.

A Waverly St. resident reported a breaking and entering. The victim stated that she returned home from a trip on 1/12 and discovered that someone had broken into the residence. A window in the rear of the house was found to be smashed. A laptop and jewelry were reported stolen.

A TJ Maxx employee reported a shoplifting. A loss prevention employee stated that he observed a suspect concealing merchandise in a bag and in his clothing. The suspect was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Warrant: 1/12 at 12:22 AM- Beacon St.

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal turn on Beacon St. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Beacon St. A query revealed that the operator had a warrant out of Boston Municipal Court. The driver was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Operating after Revocation: 1/12 at 11:56 PM- Beacon St./Borland Rd.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had a revoked license. The officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Beacon Street and Borland Rd. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation.

Assault: 1/12 at 3:39 PM- Greenough St.

An individual reported that he had been assaulted while walking on Greenough St. The victim stated that he was walking on Greenough St. when an unknown suspect punched him in the arm. Officers were able to stop a man in the area who fit the description. The victim positively identified the individual, and he was placed under arrest for Assault and Battery.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Parkway Rd and Netherlands Rd. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Parkway Rd. A license and registration check revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The operator will be summonsed to court for Operating after Suspension.

Warrants: 1/11 at 12:25 AM- Harvard St./ Longwood Ave.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had several warrants for his arrest out of Massachusetts and Texas. The officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Harvard St. and Longwood Ave. The operator was confirmed to be the registered owner, and he was placed under arrest for the warrants. The arrestee was also issued a citation for Possession of One Ounce or Less of Marijuana.

Traffic Offenses: 1/11 at 12:34 AM–Station St.

An officer observed a motor make an illegal left turn onto Washington St. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Station St. A license and registration check revealed that the driver’s right to operate in Massachusetts had been suspended. The operator will be summonsed to court for Operating after Suspension.

OUIL: 1/11 at 1:25 AM- Beacon St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Beacon St. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Beacon St. Upon reaching the driver’s window the officer could detect an odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle. Based on the officer’s observations, the operator was placed under arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, and Operating a MV without a License.

Burglary: Between 1/10 at 6:00 AM and 1/11 at 6:00 AM- Thorndike St.

A Thorndike St. resident reported a Breaking and Entering. The victim stated that sometime between 1/10/13 at approximately 6:00 AM and 1/11/13 at 6:00 AM an unknown suspect(s) made entry through a basement bulkhead door. Nothing was reported stolen.

Burglary: 1/9 between 1:15 and 6:30 PM- Egmont St.

An Egmont St. resident reported a breaking and entering. The victim stated that she left her apartment at 1:15 PM, and when she returned at 6:30 PM she discovered that someone had entered the residence and rummaged through the apartment. Several laptops and a digital camera were reported stolen. It appears that entry was made through a rear window.

Operating after Suspension: 1/10 at 10:20 AM- Washington St.

A license and registration check revealed that a vehicle had a revoked registration and that the registered owner had a suspended license. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. The operator was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

A Fuller St. resident reported a breaking and entering. The victim stated that she left her apartment at 11:55 AM, and when she returned at 12:50 AM she discovered that someone had entered her residence. A laptop and jewlery were reported stolen. Entry was made through a smashed window on the first floor.

An officer observed a vehicle make a marked lane violation on Harvard St. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Harvard St. A license and registration check revealed the driver’s license was revoked. The operator was placed under arrest for Operating with a Revoked License. He was also written a citation for Possession of Less than 1 Ounce of Marijuana.

A license and registration check revealed that a vehicle had a cancelled registration. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of St. Paul St. and Aspinwall Ave. The registered owner will be summonsed to court for Unregistered MV and Attaching Plates.

An officer observed a vehicle make a marked lanes violation. The officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Cypress St. and Milton Rd. A license and registration check revealed that the operator did not have a valid driver’s license and that she had a warrant out of Somerville District Court. The operator was placed under arrest for the warrant and Not Duly Licensed.

Officer responded to a call of Breaking &Entering in which several items were taken from a motor vehicle. The victim believes he did lock his car, and returned to find the door handle pushed upwards. Several items from inside the vehicle were missing and this is when he notified the Police.

Larceny- 1/8 at 6:15pm – Beacon St

Officer responded for a report of larceny. The caller claims that several weeks ago he had ordered a package and never received it. Delivery was confirmed for several weeks ago by USPS, and was left in the foyer of the building. On this date the caller also noticed a framed photo to be missing from inside his office. The caller believes a resident in the building to be responsible. Police are investigating.

Straight Warrant- 1/8 at 5:55am – Village Way

Officers responded to conduct a warrant sweep issued out of Roxbury District Court. Officers were able to locate the suspect in her home and place her under arrest for Larceny, Uttering False Check, and Forgery of Check.

Operating after Revocation- 1/8 – Harvard St

Officer observed a vehicle make a marked lanes violation and pulled the vehicle over. The operator did not have a copy of his license on him, and provided information that came back false. When he provided his true name and information, it was revealed that his license had been revoked. He was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation and Marked Lanes violation.

Officers responded to a call of a past larceny. The caller reported that on 12/12/12 he received confirmation that his package had been delivered to the front hall foyer of his building. There is no lock to the front hall. The Police advise that you request a signature for confirmation and security of all deliveries.

Operating after Suspension- 1/7 – Beacon & Washington St

Officer observed a vehicle making a U-turn that drove over the curb and caused the officer to apply the brakes. The Officer pulled the vehicle over and a license and registration check revealed that the operator had a suspended license status. The operator was placed under arrest and issued citations for Operating after Suspension, Failure to grant Right of Way, and Improper Right Turn.

Operating after Suspension- 1/8 at 6:14am – Hammond Pond Parkway

An Officer using radar observed a vehicle traveling at 56 mph, in a posted 40 mph zone. The officer pulled the vehicle over, and a license and registration check revealed that the operator had a suspended/non-renewable license, while the registration revealed the vehicle had revoked insurance. The operator was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

A random query check of a vehicle revealed that the registered owner had a suspended license status. The Officer was able to confirm that the registered owner was the operator at this time and conducted a traffic stop. Robbery- 1/5 – Aspinwall Ave

Victims called the police to report a robbery the night before. The victims claim they took a cab home, where the cab driver followed them into the foyer of their house demanding more money and then took the victims cell phone. When the victim attempted to retrieve the cell phone, the driver assaulted him and then drove off.

Larceny-Bike: Between 1/3 at 6:00 PM and 1/4 at 3:03 PM- Kenwood St.

A Kenwood St. resident reported the larceny of three bicycles and two bicycle tires from a front porch. The victim stated that the bicycles had been locked to the wooden porch.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had two warrants for his arrest out of Roxbury District Court. The officers conducted a traffic stop on Washington St. The operator was confirmed to be the registered owner, and he was placed under arrest for the warrants.

A query of a vehicle’ information revealed that the registration had been revoked. The officers initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. The operator was issued a citation and will be summonsed to court for Operating with a Revoked Registration and Operating an Unregistered MV.

Warrant: 1/6 at 10:09 PM- Washington St.

An individual came to the police station to turn himself in for two outstanding warrants out of Brookline District Court. The individual was placed under arrest for the warrants.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A query of the driver’s information revealed that he had a warrant out of Dorchester District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for the warrant.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with an expired inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Beacon St. A license and registration check revealed that the operator had a suspended license. The operator was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with an expired registration sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A license and registration check revealed that the operator did not have a valid driver’s license. Burglary/Attempt- 1/4  at 12:35am – Browne St

Officer responded to a call of a victim who returned home from vacation to find her apartment had been attempted to be entered. The lock to the front door had been bent, and several of the screws to hold it in place were missing. The back door to the house had some damage as well, as if an attempt were made to pry it open. The attempt to enter the apartment was unsuccessful and nothing was missing. Other burglaries were reported in this area during the same time frame.

Larceny- 1/3 at 12:00pm  – Linden Place

Officers were dispatched for a report of larceny from a nativity scene. Officers were able to review footage of a camera that shows two suspects taking two pieces from the nativity set. Police are undergoing an investigation. 

St, Mary's Church Brookline Mass: The manger is set up in front of the rectory at 5 Linden Place. On December 22, 2012, at 12:25 AM Two woman are seen, one climbs in the manger and has her picture taken by the other one.  The woman is seen taking a Lamb then returning about 15 minutes later and taking a cow. Police are following up with the video and are hoping people may recognize these woman from the neighborhood. The video also shows a resident walking a small white dog who may have seen the young women. Anyone with information regarding the two suspects, or a resident in the area of Linden and Hurd Rd owning a small white dog are asked to call the Brookline Police. 

Suspect Wanted for Breaking and Entering

The Brookline Police are requesting any information regarding the following suspect who is wanted for Breaking and Entering.

Overview:
On 12/31/2012 at approximately 1845 hrs, there was a residential break-in on Short St, Brookline MA where a neighbor observed a subject running from the scene. After an investigation, an arrest warrant has been issued for Roy BONE for this crime. BONE often utilizes windows and sliding glass doors to gain entry to residences. It is believed he is on foot and he often steals electronics and jewelry.

Officers observed a vehicle travelling with a defective headlight and pulled the vehicle over. A license and registration check revealed the operator had a suspended license, and was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Officers observed a vehicle operating with an expired registration sticker and pulled the vehicle over. A license and registration check revealed that the operator did have a suspended right to operate a vehicle, and confirmed the vehicles status had been revoked. Officers responded to a call of a breaking and entering, and larceny. The victims reported going out the previous night, and the next morning discovered several items to be missing. There was no sign of forced entry, and several of the windows may have been left unlocked.

Officer observed a vehicle travel through a red light, and also observed the operator not wearing a safety belt. Officer pulled the car over and after running a check of the license and registration, it was discovered that the operator had a suspended license. The operator was placed under arrest and issued citations for Operating after Suspension, Red Light Violation, and Seatbelt Violation.

Burglary- 1/1 at 1:39am – St. Paul St

Officers responded to a call of Breaking and Entering, as the caller returned home to find his house had been entered and several electronic items were missing. It was determined that someone had gained access to the house through a rear sliding glass door

Officer observed a vehicle make a sudden maneuver that caused other vehicles to brake to avoid an accident. The Officer pulled the vehicle over and asked for a license and registration. The operator did not have a license and was placed under arrest. The owner of the vehicle will be mailed a citation for Allowing an Improper Person to Operate his vehicle.

Larceny- 12/31 at 7:08pm – Short St

Officers responded to a call of a Breaking and Entering. Victims returned home to find their apartment door was deadbolt locked, which the tenants claim they never do. As one of the tenants attempted to enter the apartment they could hear someone on the other side of the door, however nobody was found inside once police arrived. A screen to the window on the side of the building had been tampered with and it was determined this is how entry was made.

Larceny-Shoplifting- 12/31 at 4:47pm – Harvard St

Officers responded to a call of shoplifting for a suspect who was seen fleeing on foot. A store employee and officer on detail were able to pursue on foot and give a description of the suspect. Other officers detained a suspect fitting the description, and the store employee was able to identify him as the one seen fleeing the store. Suspect was placed under arrest for Shoplifting, Resisting Arrest, and two active warrants against the suspect.

Larceny- 12/30 at 8:40pm – Littell Rd

A guest of a bed and breakfast called the police after discovering their iPad had been taken from their room while they were gone. The iPad was the only item missing from the room, while a laptop remained untouched. Police are investigating those who may have had access to the room.

Traffic Offense- 12/29 at 2:40am – Harvard St

Officers observed a vehicle traveling closely to the vehicle in front of it. A registration check of the vehicle revealed it was expired. The vehicle was pulled over, and it was discovered that the operator of the vehicle had a suspended sentence. The registration sticker of the vehicle had also been forged. The operator was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension and Forging an Inspection Sticker.

Larceny-Shoplifting- 12/30 – Washington St

Officers responded to a call of shoplifting. Employees observed a male exit the store as the store security alarm went off. The male did not stop, and one employee followed him out and watched him enter a vehicle. Employees then reviewed the stores security cameras and were able to confirm the shoplifting and then alerted the Police.

Larceny-Shoplifting- 12/29 at 6:10pm – Commonwealth Ave

Officers were dispatched to Comm Ave and given the description of a suspect for a shoplifting that had just occurred. Officers were able to find a suspect fitting the description. The store clerk who called the police had witnessed this suspect putting an item into the carriage of her child while in the store. Officers were able to retrieve the item taken, and the suspect was placed under arrest.

Graffiti Law- 12/28 – Webster St

Officers observed two male suspects emerge from an alcove carrying a bag as they quickly walked down the street. A new “tag” of graffiti was observed where the males had just left. Officers then went in the direction of where they had seen the males walking and found them facing a brick wall, as one of the males quickly put a can of spray paint back into the bag. The two males were placed under arrest for two counts of Tagging.

Officer observed a vehicle make an illegal left turn onto Harvard St and pulled the car over. The operator of the vehicle presented the officer with an expired license. The operator was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Operating after Suspension – 12/28 at 3:40pm – Boylston St

Officer observed a vehicle travelling through a red light and pulled the car over. The operator refused to present any form of identification or registration after several attempts by the officer. The operator was placed under arrest and taken back to the station where he was identified and it was found that he was not duly licensed. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and issued a citation for allowing an improper operator of her motor vehicle.

Officers responded to a caller who reported that a package delivered to their house had been stolen. The caller had recently returned home after several days and a package addressed to her had been found opened, with the contents of the box missing, in the front of the house.

Officer pulled over a car for nearly hitting a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The operator was able to give the registration of the car to the officer, but did not have a license. The operator was placed under arrest for being Not Duly Licensed.

Officer observed a vehicle traveling the wrong way down a one way street. When the officer pulled the vehicle over and ran a license and registration check it was discovered that the operator had a suspended license. There were two passengers in the vehicle, it was discovered one had a warrant for her arrest. Also found in the vehicle was marijuana. Operator was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension, as well as issued a Town By-Law for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. The passenger with a warrant was also placed under arrest for the active warrant, and issued a Town By-Law for possession of less than one ounce.

Officer observed a vehicle with one headlight not illuminated make a marked lane violation. As the officer ran the license plates it was discovered that the plates were stolen. The operator was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle Not Duly Licensed, Receiving Stolen Property, Operating an Unregistered and Uninsured vehicle, attaching wrong number plates, and defective headlight.

Officers noticed a man shield himself behind a tree as he saw officers driving by. The officers believed this to be suspect and approached the man. The man identified himself and a query check revealed that there was a warrant out for his arrest. The man was placed under arrest for the active warrant.

Malicious Damage- 12/26 – Centre St

Officer responded to a call of malicious damage to a motor vehicle. Victim reported that he parks his car in a secured garage and that within the past two days someone had forcibly bent the metal base of his windshield wipers.

Caller reported waking up to find an unknown man in his apartment on the fourth floor above a dentist office. The caller confronted the suspect who said he simply thought it was the dentist office. The caller later discovered his laptop to be missing.

Police responded to a caller whose car had been targeted for the third time in past several months. On each occasion a tack had been pushed into the side wall of the victims tire. Officers will increase attention to the area.

A men’s wallet with no personal information in it was found and returned to the Brookline Police Station. Please contact the station for more information regarding the wallet.

Larceny- 12/26 at 12:41am – Carlton St

An officer observed a male engaging in suspicious activity behind several cars as the officer drove down an alley. When the suspect saw the police car in the area he fled on foot. The officer chased the suspect on foot but was unable to locate him after he left the alley. Retrieved was a moped that had been unlocked and removed from a pole that the suspect was attempting to take

While investigating the burglary of a building, officers discovered another attempt had been made on a different apartment in the building through a window. Detectives conducted an investigation.

An officer was approached by a man who claimed to have been victim to an attempted burglary. The man had been in his bedroom of his apartment when he heard a nightstand in another room fall over. The victim walked into this room and found the window open. Victim did not see anyone inside or around his apartment, and was able to make contact with officer seen nearby.

Officers observed a vehicle make an illegal left turn from Washington St onto High St. Officers pulled the vehicle over and upon running a query check of the operators drivers license discovered the operator had a suspended license. The operator was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

B&E&L of a Motor Vehicle- 12/23 at 8:44pm – Monmouth St

Victim had parked her car earlier in the afternoon and returned to find that it had been rifled through and several items were missing. Officers observed no sign of forced entry and victim reported that she may have left the doors unlocked.

Victim reported that items had been taken out of a package delivered to her buildings lobby. Neighbors reported seeing the package unopened, and returning to find it opened with items missing. The lobby to the building has been unlocked recently due to a broken lock.

Larceny- 12/22 at 12:25pm – Harvard St

Officer responded to a report of shoplifting that had just occurred on Harvard St.  An Officer spoke with the shift supervisor who explained she had seen the suspect with an open backpack in the store, and had become suspicious. The supervisor went to review security footage and the suspect fled. A description was given of the suspect and another officer on patrol observed a suspect fitting the description waiting for a bus. Transit police was notified and the bus was then stopped. Suspect was found with several items from the store in his bag. Suspect was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

A random query of a vehicles registration revealed that the registered owner had a suspended driver’s license. The operator of the vehicle confirmed that he was the registered owner. The operator was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Victim reported that his two vehicles had been entered at some point during the night. Both vehicles had been left unlocked and there was no damage. Victim noticed items to be missing from both of the vehicles.

Officer responded to a call of people on the roof. Caller was concerned that there was drinking and vandalism going on. Officer discovered 5 males on the roof of the house. One male was intoxicated. This male was placed under arrest for Minor in Possession of Alcohol. The roof had recently been tagged and this was documented by officers for a follow up investigation.

The operator confirmed she was the registered owner and that she did not have a license. The operator was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed and the Red Light Violation.

B&E&L of Motor Vehicle- 12/21 at 12:20am – Pond Ave

Victims had returned to their car to find the front passengers window had been smashed and a purse had been taken. Victim stated that the car had been there for just over an hour. Security footage reveals a male smashing the window and retrieving the purse. The suspect left the scene in a vehicle that had been parked behind the victim’s vehicle.

Larceny- 12/21 at 8:00am – Sewall Ave

Officer was dispatched to a residence for report of a stolen bicycle. Victim reported that his bicycle had been locked with another bike in the basement of the residence. The basement is accessible by all tenants and property managers. There was no signs of forced entry to the basement.

Possession Cocaine- 12/22 at 6:30pm – Boylston St

Officers observed a vehicle travelling slowly with it’s hazard lights on. When the vehicle pulled over officer’s approached the vehicle. Officers observations and interactions with the occupants lead to the arrest of the passenger and driver. Both will be charged with Trafficking of Cocaine, Drug free School and Park Zone, and issued a Town By Law Violation for being in possession of under one ounce of marijuana. The passenger also had out standing warrants.

Operating after Suspension- 12/21/12 at 7:30pm – St. Paul St

Vehicle was observed travelling with an expired registration sticker. A query check revealed the operator had a suspended license. Operator was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 3

Burglary- 12/20/12 at 4:10pm – Verndale St

Victim returned home to find damage to the front door of their apartment. Missing from the apartment were several laptops and a camera.

Operating after Revocation- 12/21/12 at 1230 am

Officer observed a vehicle stopped at a red light without any headlights on. A license check revealed that the registered owner had a suspended license. The operator was placed under arrest for operating after revocation, and issued a town by law citation for possession of marijuana.

Larceny- 12/20/12 at 6:40pm – Davis Ave

Victims reported that two bikes had been stolen from a carriage house used as a storage area in the rear of their house.

Burglary- 12/20/12 at 5:00 pm – Beals St

Victim returned home to find that her door had been forcibly opened and the lock was broken off. Items were missing from all rooms of the apartment. Neighbors reported hearing banging noises earlier in the day but had believed it to be contractors on the roof.

Victim reported that a Powermate Generator had been stolen from the backyard of their house.

Victim reported that several items had been stolen off their front doorsteps. The boxes of these items had been located by police.

Victim reported that a package had been taken from the front of their house.

Officers responded to a report for a past Breaking and Entering. Officer observed that there were significant damages made to the door, and the lock had been broken off. Victim reported that the bedroom had been rummaged through and several jewelries were found missing.

Burglary: 12/19 at 12:30pm – James St
Tenant reported that he retuned home to find that the front door to his apartment was pryed open and items were found stolen.

Burglary: 12/19 at 8:15am – Beacon St
Resident stated that the front door had been forced open with a pry tool and found jewelry and cash missing.

Revoked Registration: 12/19 at 10:11pm – Beacon St/Harvard St
Officer observed a vehicle traveling with an invalid inspection sticker. A query of the vehicle revealed that the operator revoked registration status. Operator will be charged with Revoked Insurance, Revoked Registration, and Unregistered MV.

Larceny: 12/10 at 11:41am – Beacon St
Victim reported that someone was cashing counterfeit checks on his business account.

Malicious Damage: 12/18 at 7:00am – Chestnut Hill Ave
Resident reported that he noticed a hole in the glass window of his front foyer. He believes that the hole was made by a BB air rifle. Resident stated that earlier this year between March and April, his solarium window was shot out by an air rifle.

Victim reported that someone smashed the driver's side window of his vehicle and stated that the GPS system was missing. The glove box and center counsel were left untouched and the door was left locked.

Tenant reported that her package was stolen from the front foyer of her apartment building.

Suspicious Activity: 12/18 at 10:33pm – Beacon St
Officer responded to a report of a past suspicious activity in the bank. Caller reported that she was informed by the IT Division of the bank that a USB key had been placed into her computer and a virus had been downloaded.

Fraud: 12/9 – Kenwood St
Victim reported that multiple unauthorized online transactions were made to her account.

Victim reported that the passenger side window was smashed, the middle console was rummaged, and a Valentine radar detector was removed from the dashboard.

Caller reported that she believed that an ex-employee had been stealing money and checks from the institute. Caller stated that six unauthorized transactions were made to her personal credit card. Detectives will follow-up on the case.

Officers arrested a subject for a Default Warrant.

Operating After Revocation: 12/17 at 5:17pm – Sumner Rd
Officer observed a vehicle filing to stop for the stop sign at the intersection of Greenough and Tappan St. A vehicle’s registration check revealed that the operator had a revoked license status and a straight warrant. Operator was placed under arrest and charged with operating after revocation and the warrant.

A vehicle registration check revealed that the registered owner of a vehicle had 2 active warrants for his arrest. Owner was placed under arrest and charged for Defective Equipment (headlight) and Fugitive from Justice.

Victim reported that her coat was stolen from the coat hanger of a doctor’s office waiting room.

Larceny: 12/14 at 4:08pm – Harvard St
Victim reported that her cell phone was stolen from a store counter.

Malicious Damage: 12/14 at 10:00pm – Harvard St
Manager reported scratches on the front window of his store. The damage is consistent with and individual using a coin to etch a design into the window.

ID Fraud: 12/9 at 8:00am – Stanton Rd
Victim reported that fraudulent transactions were made to his account in Saudi Arabia.

Suspicious Activity: 12/15 at 12:01am – University Rd
Victim reported that someone had entered her apartment, entered the bathroom, and vomited all over the toilet and bathroom floor. The property owner was contacted and the locks were changed.

Disorderly Person: 12/15 at 3:11am – Harvard St
A vehicle’s registration check revealed that a vehicle had a suspended registration status and had an expired inspection sticker. The passenger/registered owner began to act belligerent, shouted obscenities at the officers, and appeared intoxicated due to his slowed interaction, slurred speech, bloodshot and glossy eyes. Passenger was placed under arrest and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Expired Inspection Sticker, Operating After Suspension (Registration), and No Registration in Possession.

Not Duly Licensed: 12/17 at 1:51am – Boylston St
Officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. A vehicle’s registration check revealed that the operator of the vehicle had an expired license statutes. Operator will be charged for speeding and not duly licensed.
