Police Reports 4/26-4/28

Sector 1

Arrest: 4/26 at 1:30 PM- Beacon St.

Officers received a complaint for an unruly and uncooperative guest at a hotel on Beacon St. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to move the belligerent guest to another room, the individual was placed under arrest for Trespassing and Disorderly Conduct.

Larceny: Between 4/26 and 4/27- Pleasant St.

A Pleasant St. resident reported that his gas grill was stolen from his rear deck sometime between 6:30 PM on 4/26 and 8:00 AM on 4/27.

Sector 2

Shoplifting: 4/26 at 7:05 PM- Beacon St.

A Trader Joe’s employee reported a shoplifter. The employee stated that he observed a female subject place items into a bag and attempt to leave the store without paying. The subject was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Motorcycle Larceny: 4/26 between 2:30 and 8:30 PM- Harvard St.

An individual reported the larceny of a motorcycle. The victim stated that he parked his motorcycle in a parking lot on Harvard St. at approximately 2:30 PM. When he returned he discovered that his motorcycle had been stolen.

Police Reports 4/25-4/26

Operating after Suspension: 4/25 at 10:06 PM- Washington St.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that it was traveling without a valid inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington Street. A further query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 4

Arrest: 4/26 at 12:11 PM- Washington St.

An individual came to the Brookline Police station to pay outstanding parking tickets. A traffic clerk alerted officers that the individual had a warrant out of East Boston District Court. The individual was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Police Reports 4/24-4/25


Sector 1

Shoplifting: 4/25 at 12:25 PM- Beacon St.

A CVS employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that he observed a male subject take items off the store’s shelves and attempt to return them without first paying for the items. Officers were able to locate an individual who matched the description in the area. The individual was positively identified and he was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Sector 3

B&E MV: 4/25 at 6:59 AM- Corey Rd.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that she observed a HM (teenager, approximately 5’7”, dark hair, wearing a red sweatshirt or jacket) going through the trunk of her car. The vehicle had been left unlocked in the victim’s garage. It did not appear that anything was stolen. A search of the area for the suspect yielded negative results.

Sector 4

Arrest: 4/25 at 11:16 AM- Beacon St. / Washington St.

An officer observed a vehicle operating without an inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Beacon St. and Washington St. A query revealed that the driver had a warrant out of Brighton District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Police Reports 4/23-4/24

B&E MV: 4/24 between 2:00 and 2:49 PM- Green St. / John St.

An individual reported a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that she parked her vehicle on John St. and when she returned she discovered the passenger rear window had been left open. A backpack was reported stolen from the vehicle.

Sector 8

Operating after Revocation: 4/23 at 7:12 PM- Newton St.

An officer observed a vehicle travel through a stop sign without stopping. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Newton St. A query revealed that the driver had a revoked license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation.

Police Reports 4/22-4/23

OUIL: 4/22 at 9:17 PM- Kent St.

Officers received a reported of a female subject in violation of a no trespass order in the area of Kent St. Upon locating the subject, officers detected a strong odor of alcohol emanating from her person. Officers also located the vehicle that the subject had been driving, which had been involved in two hit and run accidents in Medford. Based on the circumstances, the subject was placed under arrest for Trespassing, OUIL, Operating after Revocation, Possession of a Class E Drug and Disorderly Conduct. She will also be charged with Receiving Stolen Property after the vehicle was reported stolen out of New Hampshire.

Sector 3

Package Theft Arrest: 4/22 at 5:37 PM- Beacon St.

Officers received a report of a male individual who was observed going through packages in the vestibule of a Beacon St. building. An individual matching the description and carrying several bags was observed boarding an MBTA trolley. Officers entered the train and located the subject. The subject was found to be in possession of several items that had been stolen from vestibules. The subject was also positively identified by the original reporter as the man who was going through packages on Beacon St. The subject was placed under arrest for Attempted Larceny from a Building, Receiving Stolen Property, and Possession of Burglarious Tools.

Sector 4

B&E MV: 4/22 between 6:00 and 7:00 PM- Pond Ave. / Jamaica Rd.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that she parked her vehicle in a lot in the area of Pond Ave. When she returned she discovered that the window had been smashed and a GPS and a pocket book containing a wallet were stolen.

Operating after Revocation: 4/21 at 9:11 PM- Boylston St.

An officer observed a vehicle travel through a red traffic signal at the intersection of Washington St. just prior to High St. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Boylston St. A query revealed that the driver had a revoked license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation.

Sector 8

Larceny: Between 4/17 and 4/21- Heath St.

An individual reported the larceny of a hand bag from her dorm room at Pine Manor College. The victim stated that she last saw her bag on 4/17 at 12:00 PM in a closet in her dorm room. She discovered that the bag was missing on 4/21. The bag contained personal papers, identification, and cash. Nothing else was reported missing from the room.

Police Reports 4/18-4/21

Sector 1

Larceny: 4/18 between 6:45 and 7:45 PM- Commonwealth Ave.

An individual reported a larceny from his gym locker on Commonwealth Ave. The victim stated that he placed his belongings in an unlocked locker at approximately 6:45 PM. When he returned he discovered that someone had stolen his pants, backpack, wallet, and keys.

Larceny: 4/18 between 7:00 and 8:20 PM- Commonwealth Ave.

An individual reported a larceny from his gym locker on Commonwealth Ave. The victim stated that he placed his belongings in an unlocked locker at approximately 7:00 PM. When he returned he discovered that someone had stolen his backpack and wallet.

OUIL: 4/21 at 12:30 AM- Dummer St. / Pleasant St.

Officers responded to Pleasant St. at Dummer St. to investigate a report of suspicious activity. The officer conducted a traffic stop at the corner of Pleasant St. and Freeman St. Upon reaching the driver’s window the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from within the vehicle. Based on the observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor and Open Container.

Sector 2

Arrest: 4/18 at 12:30 PM- Station St.

Officers responded to Station St. for the report of a motor vehicle accident. The operator of Vehicle #1 was transported to a hospital. While treating the operator, a hypodermic needle was observed in plain view. An inventory search of the vehicle produced multiple needles, several plastic baggies containing heroin, other drug paraphernalia, and open alcohol containers. After being treated at the hospital, the operator was placed under arrest for OUID, OUIL, Operating to Endanger, Possession of Class A Drug, and Open Container. The occupants of the other vehicle were not injured.

Larceny of Motorized Scooter: Between 4/18 and 4/20- Parkway Rd.

An individual reported the larceny of a motorized scooter from a Parkway Rd. residence. The victim stated that he left his unlocked moped on the sidewalk on 4/18. When he returned on 4/20 he discovered that the moped had been stolen.

Sector 1

Arrest: 4/18 at 7:14 AM- Babcock St.

An officer observed an individual who was known to have an active arrest warrant operating a motor vehicle. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Babcock St. The driver was confirmed to have a warrant out of East Boston District Court and he was placed under arrest.

Sector 2

Shoplifting: 4/17 at 3:16 PM- Harvard St.

An officer was approached by a CVS employee who stated that a male subject was concealing items in a plastic bag. The officer observed the individual place items in a bag and leave the store without paying. The officer was able to stop the subject and he was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Sector 8

Arrest: 4/18 at 12:08 AM- Boylston St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A query revealed that the driver had a warrant out of Framingham District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Police Reports 4/16-4/17

Sector 1

B&E MV: Between 4/11 and 4/16- Beacon St.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle on Beacon St. The victim stated that he parked his vehicle in a rear lot on Beacon St. on 4/11.When he returned on 4/16 he discovered that someone had entered and rummaged through his vehicle. The victim stated that the car may not have been locked. There was nothing reported missing from the vehicle.

Larceny: 4/16 between 3:40 and 4:45 PM- Commonwealth Ave.

An individual reported the larceny of a cell phone from a restaurant on Commonwealth Ave. The victim stated that she placed her cell phone on the table while she cleaned up a spilled drink. A short time later she discovered that her phone was missing.

Police Reports 4/14-4/16

Arrest: 4/15 at 4:30 PM- Beacon St.

Officers observed a male subject riding a bicycle on a street that was closed during and following the running of the Boston Marathon. The subject failed to stop his bicycle after verbal commands from several officers. Officers were able to stop the subject on Beacon St. The individual was placed under arrest for Disorderly Person, Resisting Arrest, and Failing to Stop for a Police Officer.

Operating after Suspension: 4/14 at 8:04 PM- Beacon St. / Harvard St.

A query revealed that a vehicle was traveling with a revoked registration. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A further query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 1

Burglary: Between 4/13 and 4/15- Beacon St.

Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into a building on Beacon St. It appears that the suspect(s) gained entry into three offices located in the building. A bag containing petty cash was reported stolen from one office and it is unclear what might be missing from the other offices.

Package Theft: 4/15 between 12:00 and 7:00 PM- Fuller St.

A Fuller St. resident reported the larceny of packages from the foyer her building. The victim stated that two packages were confirmed delivered on 4/15 at approximately 12:00 PM. When the victim went to retrieve the packages from the foyer she discovered that they were missing.

Bike Theft: Between 4/15 and 4/16- Ivy St.

An Ivy St. resident reported the theft of a bicycle. The victim stated that his bicycle had been locked to a rear porch at approximately 12:00 PM on 4/15. When he returned the next day he discovered that someone had stolen the bicycle.

Arrest: 4/16 at 3:34 PM- Babcock St.

Officers responded to a disturbance in the area of Babcock St. Upon arrival officers located one individual. A query of the individual’s information revealed that he had a warrant out of Lawrence District Court. The individual was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Sector 4

Operating after Suspension: 4/14 at 5:03 PM- Harvard St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with a defective right brake light. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Graffiti Arrests: 4/15 at 1:01 AM- Chestnut St.

Three individuals were arrested in the area of Cypress St. after they were determined to be responsible for several graffiti tags in the area of Chestnut St.

Police Reports 4/12-4/14

Larceny: 4/13 at 6:30 PM- Pierce Playground

An individual reported the theft of his iPhone from Pierce Playground. The victim stated that he was playing basketball when an unknown individual (WM, 5’7”, short brown hair, 18-20 YOA, wearing a black sweatshirt and blue jeans) grabbed his cell phone from the ground and fled towards the Pierce School.

Sector 5

Larceny: Between 4/11 and 4/12- Greenough St.

An individual reported the theft of a pair of sneakers from a gym locker at Brookline High School. The victim stated that he placed a new pair of sneakers in his gym locker on 4/11. When he returned the next day he discovered that someone had cut the padlock off his locker and removed the sneakers.

Arrest: 4/13 at 8:14 PM- Boylston St. / Fisher Ave.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had a warrant for her arrest. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Boylston St. and Fisher Ave. The driver was confirmed to have a warrant out of Westborough District Court and she was placed under arrest.

Sector 7

Operating after Suspension: 4/14 at 2:24 AM- Boylston St. / Tully St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Boylston St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license and seven warrants out of Brighton, Concord, Brockton, Lynn, Roxbury, and Malden District Courts. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension and the warrants.

Sector 9

Tire Theft: Between 4/12 and 4/13- Thornton Rd.

An individual reported the theft of a tire from his 2010 Honda Accord. The victim stated that he parked his vehicle on Thornton Rd. at about 6:00 PM. When he returned the next morning he discovered that someone removed the front left wheel and propped it up on a cement block.

Police Reports 4/11-4/12

Arrest: 4/11 at 9:12 PM- Westbourne Tr.

Officers were in the area of Westbourne Tr. when they located two individuals in a park after hours. A query revealed that one of the individuals had a warrant out of West Roxbury District Court. He was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Sector 1

Larceny: 4/11 between 8:30 and 9:45 PM- Commonwealth Ave.

An individual reported a larceny from his unlocked locker at a gym on Commonwealth Ave. The victim stated that when he returned to the locker room he discovered that someone had entered his locker and removed a backpack containing a cell phone, credit card, keys, and personal papers.

Sector 2

Package Theft: 4/9 between 11:13 AM and 10:15 PM- Stearns Rd.

A Stearns Rd. resident reported the theft of a package. The victim stated that a package was confirmed delivered to her address on 4/9. However, when the victim attempted to retrieve the package from the lobby of her building she discovered that it had been ripped open and its contents stolen.

Sector 3

Package Theft: 4/11 between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM- Summit Ave.

A Summit Ave. resident reported the theft of a package. The victim stated that a package was confirmed delivered to his address on 4/11. However, when the victim attempted to retrieve the package from the lobby of his building he discovered that it had been ripped open and its contents stolen.

Sector 4

Not Duly Licensed: 4/12 at 1:54 AM- Washington St. / Pond Ave.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with an expired inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Washington Street and Pond Avenue. A query revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Traffic stop leads to large drug arrest

On April 12, 2013 at approximately 4:20PM Officers stopped a motor vehicle for an expired inspection sticker. As a result of the stop officers came across evidence of marijuana being present. A search of the vehicle also lead to the discovery of over a pound of hashish estimated street value of over $10,000. Also recovered was an automatic weapon magazine with nine rounds of nine millimeter ammunition. Seized were two cell phones, a grinder and a small package of marijuana and over $1,900. in cash. Subject is being charged with Possession of ammunition, Possession of class C and Possession of class C with intent to distribute.

Break and Entering arrest made.

On 4-12-13 at approximately 9:05 PM Officers responded to a residence on Summit Av for a reported breaking and entering. As officers were in route, a suspect description was given out. Upon the arrival of the officers the suspect was seen fleeing from the rear of the building in a motor vehicle. The vehicle traveled on Summit Av to Beacon Street. After the vehicle turned onto Beacon Street, in the area of 1440 Beacon Street, it struck a motor vehicle that was in traffic stopped at a red light. The victim’s vehicle sustained damage to its left side, none of the passengers were hurt. The suspect’s vehicle sustained damage to its right side and believed to have popped it’s right front tire. The suspect did not stop, and continued west bound on Beacon Street. The suspect traveled, about two blocks and tried to make a right hand turn onto Lancaster Terrace. The vehicle was unable to make the turn and crashed head on into a street pole causing major damage to the vehicle and the pole. The suspect was able to get himself from the vehicle and take off on foot. The suspect was spotted a short distance away in the rear of 1600 Beacon street. He took off running across Beacon Street through the Washington square area, he was running through the traffic and was eventually stopped in the area of Beacon Street and University road.


As a result of the investigation and from all the evidence the suspect will be charged with

Attempted Burglary (2 counts)

Operating a Motor Vehicle to Endanger

Operating a Motor Vehicle after License Revocation

Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident ( 2 counts)

Resisting Arrest

Disorderly Person

This suspect is believed to be responsible for other break and enterings and the investigation is ongoing at his time.
He should be arraigned in Brookline District Court.

Police Reports 4/10-4/11

Sector 1

Operating after Suspension: 4/10 at 9:45 PM- Harvard St. / Beals St.

An officer observed a vehicle take an illegal left turn from Centre St. onto Harvard St. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Harvard St. at Beals St.  A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 4

OUIL: 4/11 at 1:38 AM- Harvard St.

A query of a vehicle’s registration revealed that the registered owner had a suspended license. As the officer continued to observe the vehicle it drifted into a left turn only lane, nearly colliding with another vehicle. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. Upon making contact with the operator the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. Based on the observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor and Operating under Suspension.

Operating after Revocation: 4/11 at 1:21 PM- Park St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling the wrong direction on a one way street. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Park St. A query revealed that the driver had a revoked license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation.

Police Reports 4/9-4/10

Operating after Suspension: 4/9 at 5:05 PM- Harvard St. / Beacon St.

An officer observed a vehicle make an improper left turn from Beacon St. onto Harvard St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 1

Receiving Stolen Property: 4/10 at 1:29 PM- Freeman St. / Amory St.

Officers observed two male subjects traveling on a moped without helmets. The officers initiated a traffic stop on Amory St. A query revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The operator did not have keys for the moped and it appeared that a panel covering the ignition area had been broken off. The operator was placed under arrest for Receiving Stolen Property and Not Duly Licensed.

Sector 2

Arrest: 4/10 at 12:19 PM- Harvard St. / Marion St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with a rejected inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A query revealed that the driver had a warrant out of West Roxbury District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Sector 4

Package Theft: 4/9 between 12:07 and 5:45 PM- Foster St.

An individual reported the larceny of two packages from a Foster St. residence. The victim stated that two packages were confirmed delivered to her address at 12:00 PM. However when she returned home she discovered that one package had been ripped open and its contents stolen. The other package was missing altogether. The victim’s roommate also reported that she had a package stolen from the vestibule in the same time period.

Operating after Suspension: 4/8 at 7:15 PM- Freeman St.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had a suspended license. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Freeman St. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 2

Operating after Suspension: 4/9 at 8:53 AM- Kent St.

An officer observed a vehicle illegally passing other vehicles in the wrong lane. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Kent St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 3

Burglary: 4/8 between 7:45 AM and 3:50 PM-Beacon St.

An individual reported a breaking and entering of a residence.  The victim stated that when he returned to his residence he discovered that unknown person(s) had entered his apartment and removed several items. Taken from multiple rooms were a laptop, a Kindle Fire e-reader, a camera, jewelry, and spare change. It appeared that the suspect(s) pried open the apartment door.

Sector 5

OUIL: 4/8 at 10:32 PM- Washington St.

Dispatch received several calls for a MV accident at Washington St. and Gardner Rd. Upon arrival, officers observed a MV on Washington St. Upon making contact with the driver, officers learned that the MV had driven over two traffic islands and taken out several street signs. Officers could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the driver. Based on the observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

Boston Marathon is quickly approching,
For spectators and travelers make sure you plan accordingly

Beacon Street in Brookline to be closed from 9:30 AM-4:30 PM.
Chestnuthill Av through Cleveland Circle will close at 9:00 and open at 4:30PM.
A Parking Ban will go into effect for Beacon Street (East Bound). Check for the signs that will be posted by Sunday evening. Cars will be towed from Beacon Street starting at 8:00AM
Once Beacon street closes it stays closed from Cleveland Circle to Kenmore Square. Cars can’t get through and Pedestrians will have no crossing places. If you have appointments plan on being on the proper side of the street by 9:30AM. Stay tuned for any traffic updates,


Traffic stop leads to Drug and Gun charges

At 1020 PM last evening an Officer was conducting speed enforcement in the area of 830 Boylston St., He stopped a vehicle occupied with two males, both parties extremely nervous in appearance. While interacting with the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle's interior. While the driver reached into the glove compartment for the registration, the officer continued to closely monitor his movements. Inside the glove compartment, visible to the officer, was a clear container with what was believed to be marijuana. Based upon further investigation, both parties were taken from the vehicle. Additional packages of what is believed to be marijuana were found. Also found under the driver’s seat was a loaded 9MM firearm. Both are to be arraigned today in Brookline Court.

Sector 2

Package Theft: 4/5 between 2:20 and 3:30 PM- Kent St.

An individual reported a package theft. The victim stated that a package was confirmed delivered to his residence on 4/5. However, the package was never recovered by the victim.

Sector 4

Operating after Suspension: 4/7 at 4:32 PM- Washington St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling without an inspection sticker. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Washington St.  A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 5

Operating after Revocation: 4/8 at 10:37 AM- Channing Rd. / Chestnut Hill Ave.

A query revealed that a vehicle’s registration and the registered owner’s license were both revoked. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Channing Rd. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation.

Sector 8

Tire Theft: 4/7 between 3:00 and 11:15 PM- Holly Ln.

An individual reported the theft of all four tires and rims from her Honda Accord. The victim stated that she parked her vehicle in her garage at approximately 3:00 PM. When she returned she discovered that someone had stolen the tires and rims and left the car on cinder blocks.

Police Reports 4/5-4/7

Drug Arrest: 4/6 at 11:13 PM- Kent St.

An officer observed what appeared to be an illegal drug transaction between the operators of two vehicles in the area of Station St. The officer initiated a traffic stop of Vehicle #1 on Kent St. Officers initiated a traffic stop of Vehicle #2 on Washington St. Officers recovered a bag of marijuana from Vehicle #1. It was determined that the operator of Vehicle #2 had sold the marijuana to the operator of Vehicle #1. The operator of Vehicle #2 was placed under arrest for Distribution of Class D and School Zone Violation. The operator of Vehicle #1 was issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana under One Ounce.

OUIL: 4/7 at 2:23 AM- Beacon St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling on the Green Line MBTA tracks on Beacon St. The vehicle then left the tracks at the intersection of Beacon St. and Pleasant St. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Beacon St. Upon reaching the driver’s window the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. Based on the observations, the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

Sector 1

Shoplifting: 4/5 at 6:07 PM- Commonwealth Ave.

A CVS employee reported a shoplifter. The employee stated that she observed an individual conceal items and leave the store without paying. A search of the area yielded negative results. The suspect was described as a white female, approximately 5"2", with dark hair and wearing sunglasses and a leopard print vest. The suspect fled in a blue Mustang.

Operating after Revocation: 4/6 at 6:25 PM- Green St.

An officer observed a vehicle make a prohibited left turn from Harvard St. onto Green St.  The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Green Street. A query revealed that the driver had a revoked license. The driver was then placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation.

Sector 2

Arrest: 4/6 at 12:16 AM- Parkway Rd. / Brookline Ave.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with a rejected inspection sticker. A query revealed that a passenger had a warrant out of Wrentham District Court. The passenger was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Burglary: Between 4/5 and 4/6- Beacon St.

A Beacon St. reported a breaking and entering. The victim stated that she entered her bedroom and discovered a large amount of gold jewelry to be missing. There were no signs of forced entry.

Sector 3

Burglary: 4/6 between 9:30 AM and 11:59 PM- Summit Ave.

A Summit Ave resident reported a breaking and entering. The victim stated that sometime between 9:30 AM and 11:59 PM, someone entered her residence and removed an envelope containing a large amount of cash from a dresser drawer.

Sector 7

Operating after Suspension: 4/5 at 6:69 PM- High St.

A query revealed that the registered owner of a vehicle had a suspended license. The officer conducted a traffic stop on High St. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 9

Burglary: Between 4/5 and 4/6- Bonad Rd.

A Bonad Rd. resident reported that sometime between 6:00 PM on 4/5 and 8:00 Am on 4/6, some unknown person had crawled under his back deck and entered the unlocked basement door of his house. This subject then stole a bicycle from the basement.

Police Reports 4/4-4/5

Malicious Damage: 4/5 between 1:40 and 2:06 AM- Freeman St.

Officers responded to Freeman St. for a report of loud talking and music. Upon returning to their cruiser the officers discovered that the spotlight attached to the vehicle had been broken off. The investigation is ongoing.

Sector 1

Assault: 4/4 at 2:39 PM- Harvard St.

An individual reported that he had just been assaulted in the area of Harvard St. The victim stated that he was handing out newspapers when a male suspect struck him in the hand/wrist area. An individual was located on Beacon St. and the victim confirmed this to be the suspect. The suspect will be summonsed to court for Assault and Battery.

Sector 2

Shoplifting: 4/5 at 11:14 AM- Harvard St.

A Walgreens employee reported a shoplifter. The employee stated that she observed an individual concealing items in his jacket. The individual then left the store without paying for the items. An individual matching the description was located in the vicinity. The individual was confirmed to be the shoplifter and he was placed under arrest for Shoplifting and a warrant.

Sector 5

Breaking and Entering Arrest: 4/4 at 8:30 PM- Blake Rd.

Officers responded to a residence on Blake Rd. for a report of a live breaking and entering. The resident heard glass breaking and called the police. A responding officer spotted an individual walking away from the scene. When the subject was approached he took off running on Stanton Road.  Units searched the Stanton, Somerset and Greenough Street area. Brookline officers were assisted by a Boston K9.   A short time later the subject was spotted coming out of an alley at Cypress Street and Washington Street. The subject was seen getting into the passenger side of a vehicle that was parked on Cypress Street near Washington Street. As a result of the investigation, a twenty year old male from Boston was arrested and will be charged with Breaking and Entering in the night time with intent to commit a felony, Malicious Destruction of Property and Resisting Arrest.

Police Reports 4/3-4/4

Malicious Damage: 4/3 between 3:00 and 9:00 PM- Larz Anderson Park

An individual reported malicious damage to his motor vehicle. The victim stated that he parked his motor vehicle along Goddard Ave. in the area of Larz Anderson Park. When he returned several hours later he discovered that all four of his tires had been slashed.

Sector 3

Drug Arrest: 4/3 at 6:46 PM- Washington St.

Officers observed a vehicle traveling with defective brake lights. The officers initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. Upon reaching the vehicle officers could detect an odor of marijuana emanating from inside. A search produced seven individually packaged bags of marijuana. The driver was placed under arrest for Possession with Intent to Distribute or Dispensing a Class D Substance. The subject will also be charged with School Zone Violation

Arrest made last night for house break, Blake road.

On Thursday April 4th at 8:30PM officers responded to a residence on Blake road, for a report of a live break and entering of a home. The resident heard glass breaking and called the police. As a result of the investigation the subject, a twenty year old male from Boston was arrested and will be charged with Breaking and Entering in the night time with intent to commit a felony, Malicious Destruction of Property and Resisting Arrest. He is scheduled to be arraigned today in Brookline Court.

An individual reported the larceny of a cell phone. The victim stated that she left her office, located in the area of Babcock St., for a short period of time. When she returned she discovered that her cell phone was missing. The office was unlocked.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a red light. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Boylston St. and Kerrigan Place. A query revealed that the driver had a revoked license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation.

Operating after Suspension: 4/1 at 6:11 PM- Harvard St.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a red traffic light at the intersection of Harvard Street and Babcock Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard Street. A query revealed that the driver’s license was suspended and that he had warrants out of Malden, Worcester, and Natick District Courts. The driver was placed under arrest for the warrants and Operating after Suspension.

Arrest: 4/1 at 9:29 PM- Washington St. / Holden St.

A query revealed that the registered owner of a vehicle had an active warrant out of West Roxbury District Court. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St at Holden St. The passenger was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for the warrant. The driver was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Burglary: 4/1 between 7:30 and 9:00 AM- High St.

An individual reported a larceny. The victim stated that on 4/1 sometime between 7:30 and 9:00 AM, someone entered her unlocked apartment and removed a gaming console.

Burglary: 4/2 between 2:30 and 5:00 AM- Warren St.

An individual reported that a religious icon had been stolen from a monastery in the area of Warren St. The building was unlocked and there was not forced entry.

Larceny Arrest:3/29 at 8:21 PM- Brookline Village MBTA

An individual reported the larceny of an iPhone. The victim stated that he had come to the Brookline Village MBTA stop in order to sell a phone to an individual who had contacted him through the internet. When the victim made contact with the suspect, the suspect grabbed the iPhone out of his hand and fled. An individual matching the description was found in the area of Aspinwall Ave. The victim positively identified this individual as the suspect and he was placed under arrest for Larceny from a Person.

Operating after Revocation: 3/29 at 5:47 PM- Harvard St. / Beals St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling without an inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Harvard St. and Beals St. A query revealed that the driver had a revoked license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating After Revocation.

B&E MV: Between 3/26 and 3/30- Babcock St.

An individual reported that her car had been entered and several items had been stolen.  The victim stated that her car was parked in a rear lot in the area of Babcock St. on 3/26. When she returned she discovered that a bag containing an iPod, headphones, and personal papers was missing.

Sector 6

Arrest: 4/1 at 9:39 AM- Chestnut Hill Ave. / Clinton Rd.

A query revealed that a vehicle had a revoked registration and the registered owner had a suspended license. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Chestnut Hill Ave. and Clinton Rd. The status of the driver’s license and the vehicle’s registration were confirmed and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Boston Marathon Traffic Alert /Brookline

For spectators and travelers make sure you plan accordingly

Beacon Street in Brookline to be closed from 9:30 AM-4:30 PM.

Chestnuthill Av through Cleveland Circle will close at 9:00 and open at 4:30PM.

A Parking Ban will go into effect for Beacon Street (East Bound). Check for the signs that will be posted by Sunday evening. Cars will be towed from Beacon Street starting at 8:00AM

Once Beacon street closes it stays closed from Cleveland Circle to Kenmore Square. Cars can’t get through and Pedestrians will have no crossing places. Arrest: 3/26 at 10:57 PM- Beacon St. / Harvard St.

Officers observed an individual who was know to have a warrant out of Quincy District Court. The individual was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Arrest: 3/27 at 8:42 AM- Freeman St.

An individual was arrested at his residence on a warrant out of Boston District Court.

Sector 2

Burglary: Between 3/26 and 2/27- Beacon St.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of an office on Beacon St. The victim stated that when she arrived to work on 3/27 she noticed that a rear window was opened. She further noticed that file cabinets had been opened. It is unclear whether anything was taken from the office.

Shoplifting: 3/27 at 9:27 AM- Harvard St.

A Walgreens employee reported a shoplifter. The employee stated that she observed an individual leave the store without paying for several items. Officers were able to stop an individual who matched the description in the vicinity. The individual was positively identified as the suspect and he was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Package Theft: Between 3/19 and 3/26- Beacon St.

An individual reported the theft of a package from a Beacon St. lobby. The package was confirmed delivered on 3/19, however when the victim went to retrieve the package it was not in the lobby.

MSP and Framingham PD Assist in Warrant Arrest

This morning, Brookline officers, with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police Fugitive Unit and Framingham Police, made an arrest in relation to a failure to stop incident on 3/1/13 in Brookline. During the original incident, an officer was conducting radar enforcement on Boylston St. At approximately 12:31 AM, the officer attempted to stop a Chevy Impala for speeding. The operator failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit was terminated as it crossed the town line into Boston. Following an investigation into the vehicle’s license plate number, a warrant was issued out of Brookline District Court for the male suspect. On 3/27/13, Brookline Police, along with the MSP Fugitive Unit and Framingham Police arrested the suspect at a residence in Framingham after he was found hiding in a bedroom.

Larceny: Between 3/24 and 3/25- Williston Rd.

An individual reported the larceny of lug nuts from her vehicle. The victim stated that she parked her vehicle on Williston Rd., and when she returned she noticed there were two lug nuts missing and the rest were loosened.

Operating after Suspension: 3/26 at 7:41 AM- Boylston St. / Leverett St.

An officer observed a vehicle travel through a red light on Boylston St. The officer initiated a traffic stop  at the intersection of Boylston St. and Leverett St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The operator was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Attempted Burglary: 3/26 between 12:01 and 9:33 AM- Heath St.

A Pine Manor College employee reported that there was an attempt to break into a portable ATM. There were pry marks on the plastic side panel and the front dispenser was popped open. The suspect(s) did not gain access to the depository.

A TJ Maxx employee reported a shoplifter. The employee stated that he observed an individual conceal several items in her handbag and jacket and attempt to leave without paying. The individual will be summonsed to court for Shoplifting.

Shoplifting: 3/24 at 10:00 PM- Harvard St. / Beacon St.

A CVS employee reported two shoplifters. The employee stated that he observed one female suspect concealing store merchandise in a bag while the other female suspect stood watch. Officers were able to stop two female subjects who fit the description in the area. The two subjects were placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Not Duly Licensed: 3/25 at 11:49 AM- Harvard St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling without a registration sticker affixed to the license plate. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A query revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Arrest: 3/24 at 10:48 PM- Chestnut Hill Ave. / Channing Rd.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Boylston St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Chestnut Hill Ave. at Channing Rd. A query revealed that the driver had a warrant out of Dorchester District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Bicycle Theft: Between 3/24 and 3/25- University Rd.

An individual reported the larceny of a bicycle. The victim stated that his bicycle was stolen sometime between 3:00 PM on 3/24 and 7:00 AM on 3/25. The bicycle was unsecured in the rear of a residence.

An individual reported a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that she parked her vehicle at the intersection of Brookline Avenue and Aspinwall Avenue at approximately 10:00 PM on 3/22. When she returned the following morning she discovered that the front passenger side window had been shattered and that her GPS was missing from the glove compartment.

Arrest: 3/23 at 1:42 AM- Harvard St.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registration was revoked. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Harvard Street. A query of the driver’s information revealed that he had a default warrant out of West Roxbury District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Not Duly Licensed: 3/23 at 12:34 PM- Washington St. / Cypress St.

An officer observed a vehicle make an unsafe lane change and cut another motorist off. The officer initiated a traffic stopon Washington Street at the intersection of Cypress Street. A query revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Burglary: Between 3/22 and 3/23- Rawson Rd.

A mail carrier reported a smashed first floor window at a residence on Rawson Rd. It was determined that entry was made into the residence and several items of jewelry were missing.

Drug Arrest: 3/21 at 5:50 PM- Beacon St.

An officer heard a male and female arguing in a restroom in a building on Beacon St. Upon exiting the restroom, the subjects were stopped by the officer. A search of both individuals produced heroin and drug paraphernalia. The male subject was placed under arrest for Possession Class A and Distribution of Class C. The female subject was placed under arrest for Possession Class A and Possession of Class C.

Arrest: 3/22 at 4:04 AM- Parkman St. / St. Paul St.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to signal a lane change. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Parkman St. A query revealed that a male passenger and a female passenger both had warrants out of New Hampshire. Both of these individuals were placed under arrest. The male subject was additionally charged with Possession of Class A.

Sector 8

Not Duly Licensed: 3/21 at 9:38 PM- Hammond St.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a stop sign. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Hammond St. A query revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Sector 9

Tire Larceny: Between 3/21 and 3/22- Grove St.

An individual reported the theft of four tires and rims from a vehicle that had been parked in a lot on Grove St. The victim stated that she parked her vehicle at approximately 9:00 PM 3/21. When she returned to her vehicle at 6:30 AM on 3/22 she discovered that all four tires and rims were stolen off her vehicle and the vehicle was left on two cinder blocks.

Sector 1

Shoplifting: 3/20 at 2:54 PM- Commonwealth Ave.

A CVS employee reported a shoplifter. The employee stated that she observed a male suspect place items from a shelf into a duffel bag. The suspect could not produce a receipt for said items, and he was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Warrant Arrest: 3/20- Commonwealth Ave.

An employee of a Commonwealth Ave. business reported that an individual wanted for a 3/12/13 Shoplifting incident was currently in the store. Officers responded and arrested the subject for the warrant out of Brookline District Court as well as a default warrant out of Dedham District Court.

Shoplifting: 3/20 at 3:28 PM- Harvard St.

A TJ Maxx employee reported a shoplifter. The employee stated that the suspect (white male in his early to mid 20's, 5'8", slim build, no facial hair, and a heavily tattooed left forearm) was observed concealing items in his clothing. When the suspect attempted to leave the store he shoved an employee who attempted to stop him. A search of the area yielded negative results.

Shoplifting: 3/20 at 8:30 PM- Harvard St.

A TJ Maxx employee reported a shoplifter. The employee stated that the suspect (a black male, approximately 30 year of age, medium build, medium complexion, short hair, light beard, and wearing a denim shirt with a grey hooded sweatshirt underneath) was observed concealing items in his clothing. When the suspect attempted to leave the store he shoved an employee who attempted to stop him. A search of the area yielded negative results.

Sector 2

Drug Arrests: 3/20 at 5:51 PM- Brookline Place West

A query of a vehicle revealed that the registered owner had a suspended license. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Brookline Place West. While the officer spoke to the driver, the passenger reached in the back seat and adjusted a blanket. The officer then observed something moving underneath the blanket, which was revealed to be a 3 year old child who was not properly secured. A search of a bag located in the back seat produced heroin and drug paraphernalia.The driver was placed under arrest for Possession of Class A (Heroin) and Operating After Suspension. The passenger was placed under arrest for Knowingly Being Present where Heroin is Kept.

When the child’s mother came to the station to take custody, a query revealed that she had a default warrant out of Boston District Court. She was placed under arrest for the warrant. The child was released to a grandmother.

Sector 3

Burglary: 3/20 between 7:55 AM and 5:20 PM- Beacon St.

A Beacon St. resident reported a burglary. The victim stated that when she returned to her residence she discovered that loose change, jewelry, a laptop, headphones, and an iPod were missing from her room. Loose change and a second laptop were reported stolen from another room.

Missing 12 yr old female

Last seen this morning by a friend. Missing female did not get on the school bus on High Street (which transports her to the Driscoll School) and instead stated that she was going to walk to school.

Units are currently checking establishments, Libraries, eateries and others along her alledged walk to school. She is described as;

Arrest: 3/18 at 11:28 AM- Washington St. / Pond Ave.

Officers observed a vehicle with an obscured license plate. The officers initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. A query revealed that the passenger had a default warrant out of Quincy District Court. The passenger was placed under arrest for the warrant.


Since February 1st there have been 5 larcenies and 1 motor vehicle theft in Brookline as the result of belongings not having been properly secured in the lockers of several fitness facilities. We would like to take this opportunity to remind citizens of the following safety precautions:

• If you have items of value, try to leave them at home.
• Use a lock on your gym locker.
• Never leave your bags, purses, wallets, smartphones or any other possessions unattended even for a moment. Know where your property is when you are working out.
• Be aware of your surroundings in the parking lot, on the workout floor and in the locker room and report any suspicious activity to staff immediately.
• Keep a written record of valuables, including descriptions and serial numbers. These are proof that the property is yours and will aid in the reporting process and recovery.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with a defective license plate light. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard Street. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating After suspension.

Arrest: 3/16 at 2:26 PM- Harvard St.

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn at the intersection of Harvard Street and Green Street. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Harvard Street. A query revealed that the driver's license was currently suspended and that he had a straight warrant issued out of Dorchester District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension and the warrant.

Sector 3

Attempted Burglary: 3/17 at 3:18 AM- Beacon St.

Officers responded to a Beacon St. residence for a report of an attempted Breaking and Entering. The victim stated that a male individual opened her bedroom window and fled when the victim screamed. Officers were able to locate a male individual who fit the description in the vicinity. The victim was able to positively identify the individual and he was placed under arrest for Public Drinking, Attempted Breaking and Entering in the Night Time, and Disorderly Conduct.

MV Theft: 3/17 at 3:30 PM- Harvard St.

An individual reported that her motor vehicle had been stolen from a parking lot on Harvard St. The victim stated that someone removed her car keys from her gym locker and stole her vehicle which was parked in the lot outside. A purse and iPhone were stolen along with the vehicle.

OUIL: 3/16 at 2:16 AM- Boylston St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Boylston St. The vehicle additionally failed to stop for the red traffic light on Boylston Street at Cypress Street, as well as making an illegal U-turn. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston Street at Brington Road. The officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from within the vehicle. Based on the observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor. The arrestee was additionally charged with Operating without a License, Open Container, and Possession of Class B Drug.

Jogger struck by a M/V Info wanted

Brookline Police are looking for any information for a hit and run of a pedestrian. Anyone who was in the area of Sumner road and Buckminster road on March 7th at 7:00PM. A jogger coming from the direction of Boylston street was running across the intersection and was struck by a motor vehicle that came from the same direction. The vehicle was turning left onto Buckminster and fled the scene. The jogger was taken to the hospital with, head, leg and upper body injuries. The injuries were not considered serious. Anyone who has information is asked to call the Police at 617-730-2222.

Police Reports 3/13-3/14

Arrest: 3/13 at 5:17 PM- Boylston St. / Sumner Rd.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had a suspended license. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 1

Larceny Arrests: 3/13 at 4:57 PM- Harvard St.

Officers received a call for a shoplifting in the area of Harvard St. Officers were able to locate a subject in the area who matched the description. An employee positively identified the subject as the shoplifter. The female shoplifting subject entered a vehicle occupied by two male individuals. A search of the vehicle revealed items from another Brookline business for which a receipt could not be produced. All three individuals were then placed under arrest for Larceny from a Building. The female arrestee will additionally be charged with Possession of a Class C Drug and Possession of Class A Drug.

Not Duly Licensed: 3/14 at 12:21 AM- Washington St. / Pond Ave.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for the red traffic light as it traveled onto Washington Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington Street at Pond Avenue. A query revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Breaking and Entering Arrest: 3/14 at 5:46 AM- Park St.

Officers responded to Park St. for the report of a breaking and entering. The victim stated that he awoke to find an unknown male asleep on his living room couch. A search of the suspect produced 2 laptops, a digital camera, a bottle of cologne and several other items that were positively identified as belonging to the residents. The suspect was then placed under arrest for Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime, Larceny in a Building, Trespassing, and Possession of Burglarious Tools.

Not Duly Licensed: 3/14 at 12:58 AM- Boylston St. / Duffley Ct.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Boylston St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. at Duffley Court. A query revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Sector 1

Shoplifting: 3/12 at 5:19 PM- Commonwealth Ave.

An employee of a Commonwealth Ave. business reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that an individual left the store without making any purchase, and a short time later it was discovered that two jackets were missing. The suspect was described as a W/M, late 20s to early 30s, blue jeans, black jacket and a blue backpack.

Operating after Suspension: 3/12 at 9:02 PM- Green St.

An officer observed a vehicle parked in a no parking area. A query of the driver’s information revealed that he had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Arrest: 3/12 at 5:50 PM- High St.

Officers responded to the area of High St. for the report of a male individual urinating in public. Upon arrival, officers located an individual who matched the description. A witness positively identified the subject and he was placed under arrest for Open and Gross.

Not Duly Licensed: 3/13 at 8:36 AM- Clinton Rd.

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal left hand turn from Chestnut Hill Ave. onto Clinton Rd. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Clinton Rd. A query revealed that the driver did not have a valid license and that she had a warrant out of Brighton District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for the warrant and Unlicensed Operation.

Larceny: 3/11 between 2:00 and 5:39 PM- Linden St.

An individual reported a breaking and entering and larceny. The victim stated that when he returned to his apartment he discovered the front door was unlocked. A television and two bicycles were missing.

Operating after Revocation: 3/11 at 6:45 PM- Beacon St. / Marion St.

Officers received a call for an erratic driver on Beacon St. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Beacon St. A query revealed that the driver had a revoked license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation.

Police Reports 3/10-3/11

Arrest: 3/10 at 3:03 PM- Chestnut Hill Ave.

Officers responded to the area of Chestnut Hill Ave for a report of a subject looking into parked motor vehicles. Officers were able to locate a subject fitting the description in the area. A query revealed that the subject had two default warrants out of Brockton and Quincy District Courts. A search produced several items that had been removed from vehicles. The subject was placed under arrest.

Sector 1

B&E MV: 3/10 between 2:50 and 3:40 PM- Egmont St.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that he parked his vehicle on Egmont St. at approximately 2:50 PM on 3/10. When he returned he discovered that the rear passenger window had been smashed in. The victim reported several text books and a thumb drive stolen from the vehicle.

Operating after Suspension: 3/10 at 8:00 PM- Commonwealth Ave.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with defective equipment. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Commonwealth Ave. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 4

Operating after Suspension: 3/10 at 7:54 AM- Washington St.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the vehicle did not have an inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Drug Arrests: 3/10 at 11:37 PM- High St.

Officers observed a vehicle fail to stop for a stop sign. The officers initiated a traffic stop on High St. A consent search of a passenger produced marijuana, Oxycodone, and cash. The passenger was placed under arrest for Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D, and Conspiracy to Violate the Drug Law. A search of the driver produced several pills for which he did not have a prescription. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension, Possession of Class B, and Possession of Class C. A second passenger was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and Conspiracy to Violate the Drug Law.

OUIL: 3/11 at 1:16 AM- Washington St.

An officer observed a vehicle travel through a red traffic signal. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. Upon reaching the driver’s window the officer could detect the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Based on the observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

Larceny: 3/8 between 12:50 and 1:35 PM- Beacon St.

An individual reported the larceny of a laptop. The victim stated that she placed a laptop in an open bag underneath a desk in her office. When she returned to her office she discovered that the laptop was missing.

OUIL: 3/10 at 3:24 AM- Washington St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at night time without an illuminated license plate. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. Upon reaching the driver’s window the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. Based on the observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

Sector 6

B&E MV: Between 3/8 and 3/9- Fairway Rd.

A Fairway Rd. resident reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that she parked her vehicle in her driveway overnight on 3/8, and when she returned the next morning she discovered that someone had entered the car. The victim stated that the front passenger seat had been reclined and the contents of the glove compartment were strewn throughout the front of the vehicle. The victim did not report anything stolen from the vehicle.

Arrest: 3/7 at 7:36 PM- Chestnut Pl.

Officers responded to Chestnut Pl. for a report of two male subjects causing a disturbance. Officers were able to stop two subjects who matched the description in the area. While in the presence of the officers, the two individuals started yelling and acting in an aggressive manner. The two individuals were placed under arrest for Disturbing the Peace.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 1

Shoplifting: 3/4 at 3:06 PM- Beacon St.

An employee of a Beacon St. business reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that she observed a female suspect conceal items from the store in her clothing. The suspect was in the company of two other females. A search of all three individuals produced items from other Brookline businesses for which the individuals could not produce receipts. One individual was arrested for Larceny over $250 and Shoplifting. The other two individuals will be summonsed to court for the same offenses.

Operating after Suspension: 3/5 at 2:02 AM- St. Paul St. / Dummer St.

Officers observed an individual sleeping in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Shoplifting: 3/7 at 1:05 PM- Harvard St.

A TJ Maxx employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that he observed an individual conceal items in her handbag. The subject was placed under arrest for shoplifting. 

Sector 2

Assault/Shoplifting: 3/4 at 5:26 PM- Beacon St.

A Trader Joe’s employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that an individual was observed placing items into a personal bag. When confronted, the individual shoved an employee and fled the store. Officers were able to locate an individual who matched the description in the area. After a brief foot chase, officers were able to stop the subject. A query revealed that the subject had an active arrest warrant. Employees positively identified this individual as the person who was in the store. The subject was placed under arrest for Shoplifting, Assault and Battery, Resisting Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct.

Not Duly Licensed: 3/6 at 6:53 PM- Harvard St. / School St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling without an inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Harvard St. and School St. A query revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was placed under arrest for Unlicensed Operation.

Larceny: 3/4 between 11:45 AM and 12:45 PM- Commonwealth Ave.

Officers responded to a gym on Commonwealth Ave. for a larceny report. The victim stated that clothing, keys, cash, and credit cards were stolen from his unlocked locker.

Sector 2

Larceny: Between 2/28 and 3/4- Harvard St.

An individual reported a larceny from an office on Harvard St. The individual stated that an employee locked the office on 2/28 around 5:30 PM. When he returned on 3/4 at 7:00 AM he discovered that a camera and an iPod were missing. There were no signs of forced entry.

Larceny: Between 3/1 and 3/4- Washington St.

An individual reported a larceny from his vehicle. The victim stated that he parked his vehicle on Washington St. on 3/1, and when he returned on 3/4 he discovered that his laptop had been removed from the back seat. There were no signs of forced entry.

Arrest: 3/2 at 8:43 PM- St. Paul St. / Freeman St.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for pedestrians in a crosswalk at the intersection of St. Paul St. and Freeman St. The officer then initiated a traffic stop. A query revealed that the driver did not have a license and that he had a warrant out of Malden District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for Unlicensed Operation and the warrant.

Sector 2

Minor in Possession: 3/2 at 10:46 PM- Longwood Ave. / Harvard St.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for pedestrians in a marked crosswalk on Harvard St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Longwood Ave. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was then placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension. During a search of the vehicle officers recovered several bottles of alcohol. The driver and three passengers were placed under arrest for Minor in Possession of Alcohol.

Arrest: 3/1 at 6:11 PM- Boylston St.

An officer responded to a gas station in the area of Boylston St. for the report of a dispute in progress. The officer located two individuals who were verbally arguing. A query of the individuals’ information revealed that one individual had a warrant for her arrest out of Boston. The individual was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Officers responded to Winchester St. for a single vehicle accident. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, officers could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person. An officer observed a motor vehicle fail to stop for a stop sign. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Goddard Ave at the entrance to Larz Anderson field. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

An individual reported a larceny from inside a locker room at a gym on Commonwealth Ave. The victim stated that when she returned to the locker room she discovered her jacket and backpack were missing from an unlocked locker.

An officer observed a motor vehicle fail to stop for a stop sign. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Amory St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license and a warrant out of Boston District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension and the warrant.

Package Theft: 2/26 between 3:30 and 5:30 PM- Parkman St.

A Parkman St. resident reported the theft of a package. The victim stated that she returned home to find a package on her front steps that had been ripped open. The contents of the package had been removed.

Burglary: 2/26 between 9:30 AM and 7:30 PM- Coolidge St.

A Coolidge St. resident reported a breaking and entering. The victim stated that upon returning home he discovered that his laptop was missing. Entry is believed to have been made through a rear window.

Burglary: 2/26 between 5:30 and 8:30 PM- Gibbs St.

A Gibbs St. resident reported a breaking and entering. The victim stated that when she returned home she discovered that someone had forced entry through her front window into her apartment and stolen her laptop, luggage, and jewelry.

Sector 5

Arrest: 2/27 at 1:53 AM- Beacon St. / Chestnut Hill Ave.

An officer was conducting a traffic stop on Beacon St. at Chestnut Hill Ave. when she observed a pedestrian throw a glass bottle on the ground causing it to break. The officer stopped the individual and a query revealed that he had two warrants out of Westborough District Court. The individual was placed under arrest for the warrants.

Sector 1

Arrest: 2/24 at 3:54 PM- Naples Rd.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Naples Rd. for the report of two males subjects looking into backyards. Two individuals matching the description were located and stopped in the area. A query of the individuals’ information revealed that one of the individuals had a warrant out of Cambridge District Court. That individual was placed under arrest.

Arrest: 2/24 at 8:12 PM- Harvard St.

Officers were dispatched to a Harvard St. business for a report of customers who would not leave after being asked to by employees. Officers were able to locate two individuals in the area who fit the description. A search of one individual produced several prescription pills for which he was not prescribed. This individual was placed under arrest for Possession of Class B, C, and E.

Sector 3

Arrest: 2/24 at 6:30 PM- Beacon St.

An officer observed a vehicle take an illegal left turn from Harvard St. onto Beacon St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Beacon St. Upon reaching the driver’s window the officer could detect an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A consent search produced (6) individual bags of marijuana and USC. The driver was placed under arrest for Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had a suspended license and two warrants out of Waltham District Court. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Park Dr. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for the warrants and Operating after Suspension.

B&E MV: 2/22 between 11:23 AM and 12:15 PM- Beacon St.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that he parked his vehicle on Beacon St., and when he returned he observed the passenger side window to be smashed. A laptop was reported stolen from the vehicle.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for the red signal while traveling from Washington St onto Boylston St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. Upon reaching the driver’s window the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. Based on the observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

Attention: Fraudulent Solicitations

Attention Brookline Businesses: The BPD is currently looking into a case of fraudulent solicitation. A local business owner received a soliciting call from someone stating they were with the ‘Brookline Police Narcotics Department’ and that they were currently running drug awareness programs for the Brookline Youth. A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had a suspended license. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Harvard St. and Kent St. The operator was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 4

OUIL: 2/22 at 2:13 AM- Washington St. / Pond Ave.

An officer observed a MV operating erratically, crossing the solid double yellow line and failing to stop for several red lights. The officer was able to initiate a traffic stop on Washington St at the intersection of Pond Ave. Upon reaching the driver’s window the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage. Based on the observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor and Operating to Endanger.

Sector 8

Burglary: Between 2/21 and 2/22- Heath St.

A Pine Manor College student reported a larceny from his dorm room. The victim stated that sometime between 9:30 PM and 12:30 AM an unknown suspect(s) entered his room and stole a laptop and cash.
