Tuesday, October 23rd

10:46AM- An officer was dispatched to Winthrop Road for a bike theft report.  The officer was met by the father of the victim on arrival.  He states his son’s bike was stolen off their property.  The son was contacted by phone by the officer.  The son stated on 10/22/18 around 5:00PM he left his Ultegra black bike unsecured outside of his garage door.  On 10/23/18 around 7:00AM he noticed the bike was missing.  This case is being investigated.

11:57AM- The reporting party stated on 10/23/18 around 12:00AM a package was delivered and left in the foyer of the building he lived in on Naples Road.  He reported arriving home at 8:00PM and discovering the package was missing.  This case is under investigation.

4:50PM- Officers responded to Boylston Street for a shoplifting incident.  The owner of the store targeted told an officer he was in the store when a male entered around 4:40PM.  The male looks at several items and asked questions about the merchandise while wearing a hood covering his head and looking down.  The owner recognized him as he had come by the store several times this year to sell merchandise.  The owner described that this time the subject appeared suspicious with his face hidden by the hood and the lack of eye contact.  A few minutes later the subject grabbed several items and ran out of the store.  The owner ran after him and observed the suspect running west on Boylston Street and enter a black vehicle and drive west on Boylston Street.  The suspect is described as a dark skinned black male, approximately 6’1”-6’2”, around 17 or 18 years of age, thin build, light facial hair on the chin and lip, braces, wearing a black Adidas track/windbreaker with white stripes on the arms, black/blue/white Air Jordan sneakers and skinny jeans with torn front pant legs.  This case is being investigated.

Sunday, October 21st

11:22AM- Police received a call for a possible attempted break and entering on Arlington Road.  The reporting party stated on Thursday 10/18/18 his wife noticed that one of the screens on their screened in porch appeared to be ripped.  They had just had all their screens replaced this summer.  The husband noticed the screen door was latched from the outside which they never do unless they are in the yard.  He also noticed a door in the basement was ajar and sandbags placed in front of the door were slightly moved.  An officer confirmed the attempted entry by the visual damage and moved sandbags. 

Saturday, October 20th

Three graffiti reports were made. 

An officer was dispatched to Station Street where he observed a graffiti tag in pink spray paint.  Another officer was dispatched to White Place where she observed graffiti in pink spray paint on the side of a building.  An officer responded to Harvard Street where a word spray painted in black on a green generator on the side of a building was observed.  All of these cases are under investigation. 

Wednesday, October 17th

3:30AM- Officers were dispatched to Brookline Place for a larceny.  They were met by a security officer who reported seeing through surveillance footage a white male coming out of the garage and dropping two duffel bags full of copper near the construction site.  He then walked away from the garage near Brookline Avenue.  Due to several thefts of construction equipment Police have been patrolling the area.  It appears the suspect saw the police car when he exited the garage and dropped the bags.  An officer saw an individual matching the suspect’s description on Kent Street and pursed him unsuccessfully.  The officer recognized him as a known individual.  His description was radioed to other officers.  Boston Police and a K-9 were involved in the pursuit on the MBTA Green Line.  At 5:00AM a State Trooper responded to the area around the suspected individuals address to see if he was in the area and if he matched the description of the suspect.  The suspect spotted a state police officer and ran into his home.  After trying to make contact with him by knocking and calling his name for about 40 minutes the suspect attempted to flee through a rear window where he was detained.  He was asked if he had stolen copper from a construction site in which he responded yes.  During questioning at the Police Station the subject admitted to the theft.  The follow up investigation resulted in a search warrant being executed at the subject’s residence.  The search resulted in the recovery of construction tools.  Any construction workers in the area who may have missing tools should stop by the station to see if we’ve recovered any of yours.  The suspect is being charged with breaking and entering at night to commit a felony, larceny from a building and trespassing.

7:38AM- An officer was dispatched to Winthrop Road for a burglary.  The reporting party and her mother reported being away from home for a while.  When they returned they found items were missing.  Maintenance, cleaning staff and health aides has had access to the home.  This case is under investigation.

5:00PM- A report of a larceny was made on Harvard Street.  The store manager relayed to officers that around 3:57PM she was on the sales floor and recognized a female individual from a previous shoplifting incident.  She asked the individual if she needed assistance in which the response “no” was given.  The manager then observed the individual being approached by another female who placed several items into the recognized female’s hands.  The two females stayed in the store for about ten more minutes and then exited without paying.  They were observed taking a specific bus route.  The manager described both females to officers.  This case is being investigated.

6:29PM- Officers were dispatched to Chapel Street for a report of an animal bite.  The complainant reported leaving her building from a rear exit when her neighbor’s dog came toward her and bit her right leg just above her ankle.  Officers observed a two inch scratch that had penetrated the skin.  At the time, the dog was being walked by a dog walker who refused to give her name and left the scene.  The dog was described as a small black and white dog that she knows belongs to her neighbor.  An officer tried to speak with the neighbor but she was not home.  This case is under investigation. 

11:42- Officers responded to Harvard Street for a shoplifting incident.  The reporting party stated while he was in the back of the store around 11:40 two males and a female entered the store.  He viewed one male putting an unknown amount of candy in his jacket pocket and the other male putting candy down his pants.  The female exited the store.  The employee confronted the males and they denied taking items and exited the store toward Commonwealth Avenue.  This case is being investigated.

Tuesday, October 16th

5:11PM- Officers were dispatched to Hancock Road for a break and entering and larceny of property.  When officers arrived on scene they were met by two victims who reported upon their return from being away they found their home had been broken into.  Since 10/2/18 around 8:00AM their home had been unoccupied.  Officers determined after processing the scene that the lock of the front door had been broken and force was used to open the door.  An attempt to gain entry was made through two windows which displayed damage.  Three bedrooms were targeted having shown dresser drawers and shelves rummaged through and items strewn around the rooms.  This case is under investigation.

5:45PM- Officers responded to Harvard Street for a shoplifting incident.  An officer spoke with the store manager who relayed that he observed the suspect placing items in their bag.  He confronted the suspect and requested they pay for the items they took.  The suspect then exited the store without paying.  The suspect then fled on foot northbound on Harvard Street.  The suspect was described as a black individual, possibly female, with long black hair, black facial hair appearing to have been shaved recently, wearing a black suit with red stripes, carrying a denim messenger bag and weighing about 150lbs.  The manager believed the individual was transgender.  A customer in the store approached officers and notified them that he witnessed the suspect run back into the store’s parking lot and entered a car of which he took a picture of and the license plate.  The vehicles description and license plate was broadcasted to responding units.  After, running the license plate officers found the car was owned by a rental company.  By contacting the company, the renters name was provided, which was a traditional female name.  The name yielded negative results for any matching individual or driver’s license.  An officer then searched the address on the license in which a person with a different first name and sex but same last name appeared also having the same date of birth.  This license showed a black male with long straight hair and black facial hair.  Officers believed that the person in the photo was possibly transgender.  The difference in sexes and name change describes a transitioning male and explains why the vehicle was rented to a female.  A photo array was compiled for the store manager.  The officers conducting the array had no knowledge of the appearance of the suspected individual.  The manager chose the suspect out of the array.  The suspect will be summonsed to court.

Monday, October 15th

12:30PM- Officers were dispatched to Brookline Place for a report of a larceny.  An officer was met by the company manager who stated in the past few weeks employees in the office had reported items missing including money.  He had spoken with employees of other offices in the building who stated the same things had been occurring there.  This case is under investigation.

3:30PM- A report of a package theft was made on Hamilton Road.  The reporting party reported to an officer that she ordered an item.  The item had a tracking number and was delivered at approximately 1:00PM on 10/5/18.  She returned home at 6:00PM and the package was not there.  This case is being investigated.

5:33PM- A malicious damage report was made on Parkman Street.  An officer spoke with the complainant who stated he parked his vehicle in the rear of an apartment complex on Parkman Street on 10/13/18 at 2:00AM.  When he returned to his vehicle on 10/15/18 he noticed the passenger side door had been keyed.  An officer observed the scratch to be a deliberate marking made with a key.  This case is under investigation.

10:19PM- A call was received from Greenough Street for a report of a break and entering.  The home owners relayed to officers that they were out of town since 10/11/18.  When they arrived home they noticed dresser drawers in the bedroom opened and contents strewn about.  They immediately exited the house and called police.  Officers arrived and noticed a window was forced open and the lock was broken.  Drawers were open, bags were gone through and items were scattered on the floor.  This case is being investigated.

Sunday, October 14th

1:15 AM- Officers responded to Weybridge Road for a report of a break and entering.  The reporting party reported leaving the residence at 6:05 PM on 10/13/18.  He and his wife returned home at 11:30 PM.  He noticed items were missing, moved, and a window sustained damage.  Officers determined the burglar made entry through a window and fled through a door.  This case is being investigated.

8:47 AM- Officers were dispatched to Beacon Street to investigate a theft of a bicycle.  The reporting party led an officer to a location opposite an apartment of Strathmore Road where the bicycle had been locked.  It had been locked to a town line pole.  He reported locking the bike to the pole on 10/12/18 around 5:00 PM.  He was away over the weekend and discovered the bike missing on the morning of 10/14/18.  After taking a look at the title officers determined the theft was of a motorcycle.  A multi-tool was found on the ground.  This case is under investigation.

A larceny report was made at the station.  The complainant stated approximately two weeks ago he and his family put an inflatable pumpkin on their lawn.  Sometime between 10:00 PM on 10/13/18 and 8:00 AM on 10/14/18 the pumpkin was stolen. 

Friday, October 12th

7:28 PM- A report of a larceny was made at an establishment on Commonwealth Avenue.  An officer spoke with the manager who stated he was approached by an individual in regards to money that went missing on 10/10/18.  An officer then spoke to the complainant who reported entering the establishment on 10/10/18 around 2:20 PM to work out.  She reported placing her items in a locker room but did not lock it because the business was “empty”.  When she finished her work out and left around 4:00 PM she noticed money was missing.  This case is under investigation.

Thursday, October 11th

A report of a larceny of a scooter was made on Fairbanks Street.  An officer met with the reporting party who stated he parked his scooter across the street from his building and used a chain to secure it to a small tree.  He last saw it on 10/9/18 around 7:00 PM.  He noticed it was gone on 10/10/18 around 9:00 AM.  The scooter is described as a Genuine Scooter, roughhouse model that is red with an MIT faculty sticker on the rear.  This case is under investigation. 

3:50 PM- Officers were dispatched to Harvard Street for a shoplifting incident.  The store manager relayed to officers that an employee notified him that a female was placing items into her bag.  The suspect attempted to exit the store after passing the registers.  The manager stopped the suspect and asked if she was going to pay for the items in her bag in which she responded she didn’t have anything to pay with.  The manager asked the suspect to empty her bag of the items she stole and she complied.  Police placed her under arrest for shoplifting.  Some of the items in the bag were not identified by the store manager as their products.  Officers went to surrounding stores that could possibly sell the items unaccounted for and asked the managers if they could identify the items as theirs and if an individual matching the suspect had been in their stores.  One store was able to confirm the suspect’s presence and the items.  The other store confirmed their store sells the items but could not determine if the suspect had been in the store.  The suspect is being criminally charged.

Wednesday, October 10th

11:55 AM- Officers responded to Beacon St for a report of a bike theft.  The reporting party reported he locked his bicycle to the bike rack in a garage on Beacon St.  On 10/10/18 around 8:00 AM he noticed his bike was missing and the lock had been cut.  He had last seen his bike on the morning of 10/6/18.  The bicycle is described as a specialized Allez road bike, white with black writing and red rims.  The motorcycle left behind was determined to be stolen.  The motorcycle was identified and returned to the owner.  This case is being investigated.

12:23 AM- While on patrol an officer observed three motorcycles, operated by three drivers traveling in the right lane eastbound on Beacon St towards Washington Square.  The motorcycles were traveling at a slow speed, swerving left and right and it appeared they were having difficulty with one of the motorcycles.  The officer determined after further observation the operators of the two motorcycles on the left and right were attempting to push start the motorcycle in the middle.  The officer activated the vehicle overhead lights in an attempt to approach the motorcycles.  The drivers observed the cruiser lights, the individual having trouble with the motorcycle he/she was operating dropped the motorcycle at the intersection of Beacon St and Dean Rd and got on the back of another motorcycle and both operators fled eastbound on Beacon St at a high speed.  Nearby officers were then notified of two motor bikes traveling at a high speed around the location.  This case is under investigation.

Tuesday, October 9th

7:59 AM- A report of a break and entering was made on Arlington Rd.  An officer spoke with the victim and a neighbor.  The victim reported arriving home the previous night on 10/8/18 around 9:25 PM and noticing the side gate to the backyard was open.  The resident closed the door and continued into the front door by unlocking it.  Officers observed a bedroom window to be forced open, damage to the frame and items knocked over.  This case is under investigation.

6:30 PM- An officer was dispatched to Beacon Street for a bike theft report.  An officer spoke to the reporting party who stated she used a cable lock to secure her blue Schwinn bike to a parking sign behind Beacon St on Webster St sometime in the early afternoon on 10/4/18 or 10/5/18.  The reporting party was away for the weekend and attempted to retrieve the bike around 11:40 AM today but noticed the cable lock was cut and the bike was missing.  This case is being investigated.

8:00 PM- A report of a larceny was made on Edgehill Road.  The reporting party reported that in October of 2017 his family hired an individual to conduct housework three times a week for a few hours each day.  They have not had issues with the worker besides cancellations that have been addressed and stopped.  On 10/8/18 around 6:30 PM the reporting party put a large amount of money in a bank envelope and stowed it until dinner when the envelope was to be given to another individual.  The reporting party went to retrieve the envelope at 9:00 PM and found it was gone.  The only people in the home from the time the money was put away and the time it was found missing was the reporting party, his wife, kids, friend who was to receive the money, and the worker.  The family attempted to call and email the worker multiple times and received no response.  The worker also failed to show up for work the next day.  This case is under investigation.

Monday, October 8th

An officer was dispatched to Grove St for a larceny of a bicycle.  An officer spoke with the reporting party who reported her daughters Trek 10 speed bicycle had been stolen sometime between 9:30 AM on Saturday Oct 5^th and 2:30 AM on Sunday Oct 6^th.  The bike had been left in the driveway of her home and had a thick cable lock securing the frame to the wheel but was not secured to a fixed object.  The bike has a white colored frame with teal colored flowers, a brown leather seat and matching handlebars, a side pouch frame over the rear tire and decorative snap-on-flowers on the spokes.  The bike also has pink electronic handlebars.

4:15 PM- Officers were dispatched to Greenway Court for a report of a stolen license plate.  The reporting party arranged to have her car shipped from her previous home in another state to her new home in Brookline.  She was notified her vehicle would not arrive on the day it was originally set to arrive due to a breakdown of the vehicle transporting the car.  She was told her car would not arrive until 10/8/18.  Her car was dropped off at her address in Brookline around 4:00 PM on 10-8-18 but was missing her registration plate.  This case is under investigation.

6:20 PM- A report of a larceny was made on Freeman Street.  The reporting party reported she entered her room on 10/7/18 to retrieve her wristlet containing money but could not find it.  She stated she had last seen her wristlet with the money inside approximately two weeks prior.  She reported building management sent inspectors into her apartment to inspect three days ago.  None of her roommates were home at the time.  This case is being investigated.

Sunday, October 7th

3:27 AM- Officers were dispatched to Boylston St for an erratic male operator occupying a white Jeep asleep in the car.  Officers observed the vehicle upon arrival as well as another vehicle behind it with the hazard lights flashing.  The person inside told officers the vehicle in front of him had been stopped for around 6 minutes with the driver asleep inside.  The officer approached the vehicle and observed the driver asleep.  He knocked on the door and window numerous times in an attempt to wake him but could not.  The officer opened the driver’s door and the driver woke up.  After being asked to put the car in park and remove the keys from the ignition the driver reported he had four to five drinks at the Red Sox game.  He was unaware of the time.  The driver failed to complete the field sobriety tests with satisfaction.  A citation was issued for OUI-L and impeded operation.  Criminal charges are pending.

11:30 AM- Officers were dispatched to Thorndike St for a larceny.  The reporting party reported his wife ordered a package.  He received an email that the package was delivered on October 5^th around 2:36 PM.  When he went to retrieve the package at 5:00 PM it was not there.  He was not concerned at the time because his neighbor often receives his mail by mistake.  He asked the neighbor if he had received his package by mistake and received a response of no on October 7^th and that his neighbor’s package was also missing.  Brookline Police was contacted and both cases are under investigation.

7:50 PM- A report of a bike theft was made on Egmont St.  The reporting party stated he locked his bike up to a pole using a cable lock around 11:00 PM on 10/6/18.  He returned around 11:30 AM on 10/7/18 to find his lock cut and his bike missing from the pole.  The bike is described as a black and orange Mongoose HotShot.  This case is being investigated.

Saturday, October 6th

Approximately 2:55AM officers responded to the area of Thorndike Street. A Female victim reported she had been sexually assaulted at approximately 2:30AM. She was walking home from a friend’s house on Commonwealth ave. An unknown male approached her in the area of 1202 Com Av and started to make conversation, the victim declined to engage in conversation. The subject then took the victims phone and keys from her hands. The victim continued walking towards her home and was grabbed and pulled into an alley near Thorndike Street. The subject sexually assaulted the victim and choked her. She was able to get herself to a safe place.  Quick thinking by the victim and her friends who came to her assistance, helped provide the Police with valuable information that lead them to locating the subject in the area of Brighton Av and Harvard Street approximately a half hour later. 

Officers found two swastika symbols carved into the paint on a cell room bench.  The damage was created by a prior prisoner.  This prisoner is being summonsed to court for the malicious damage.

Thursday, October 4th

A report of a larceny from a building was made at the station.  The reporting party reported her wallet had been stolen and then returned to her.  On Tuesday 10/2/18 around 4:00 PM the reporting party was in the student center at Newbury College.  She used the bathroom and left her wallet behind.  It was gone when she returned.  She reported the incident to the Campus security.  On 10/4/18 around 2:00 PM the victim was notified by Campus Security that her wallet was mailed to their office.  She found that the contents inside were missing and the mailing envelope had no return address.  This case is under investigation

8:44 PM- Officers were dispatched to Longwood Ave for a report of a package theft.  The reporting party told an officer he received an email stating his package had been delivered to the foyer of his apartment building at 4:56 PM.  When he returned home at 6:00 PM the package was not there.  The reporting party reported the other packages in the foyer looked undisturbed.  This case is being investigated.

Wednesday, October 3rd

A report was made at the front desk of the police station for a package theft.  The reporting party stated his package was stolen from the front porch of his home.  He told an officer he received an email confirmation stating his package had been delivered at 9:51 this morning on 10/3/18.  When he went to retrieve the package it was not there.  This case is being investigated.

10:06 PM- Officers were dispatched to Tappan St for a break and entering of a residence.  The reporting party reported she entered her home and noticed several items out of place.  She feared she was the victim of a burglary so she quickly exited her home and called the Brookline Police.  Officers entered the home and determined it had been broken into.  Multiple cabinets and dresser drawers were observed to be rummaged through.  The reporting party stated the house had been unoccupied since 5:00 PM.  It appears force was used to open a window to gain entry.  The victim reported missing items.  This case is under investigation. 

Monday, October 1st

An officer received a call from the Vice Principle of one of our Brookline Schools, reporting that one of his students was bitten by a dog during recess period.  The reporting party told the officer the incident occurred on the playground around 12:15 PM.  The dog owner was walking his dog through the park when the student approached the dog owner and asked if she could pet the dog.  The owner allowed her to do so.  The dog then bit the student on the forearm.  The Brookline Health Department has been notified. 

A separate incident with a different dog:

9:50 AM- The Brookline Animal Control Unit was notified that a woman’s dog was attacked by a loose dog.  The complainant reported she was walking her dog around 9:00 AM by the Maimondies School when all of a sudden a loose dog came running out of a driveway and attacked her dog.  She claims the dog pounced on her dog and began biting.  A motorist stopped and scared the attacking dog away.  Her dog suffered two puncture wounds to the rear left leg.  Around 9:53 another caller called the Brookline Police reporting a loose dog on Buckminister Rd.  The same caller called back later and reported the owner had retrieved the loose dog.  She reported she was walking her dogs when she encountered the loose dog without a collar.  She described the dog to be friendly and playing with her dogs. This case is under investigation.

Sunday, September 30th

6:20 PM- Officers were dispatched to Kent St for a larceny of a moped.  An officer spoke with the caller who stated he parked his moped in the rear lot of his building and used a chain to secure the front tire to a bike rack.  He last saw his moped secured in the lot around 12:00 PM on 9/29/18.  On 9/30/18 around 6:00 PM he returned home and saw that the moped itself was stolen, but the front tire and chain were left behind.  A distinguishing mark on the moped is a Northeastern University decal on the rear plastic covering.  The reporting party was advised to contact his insurance company.  This case is under investigation.

6:20 PM- A report of a larceny of a moped was made on Kent St.  An officer spoke with the reporting party who stated he parked his moped opposite 34 Station St near the Brookline Village MBTA Station and used a chain to secure the rear tire to a bike rack.  He stated he hadn’t used the moped in over a month but his roommate last saw the moped on 9/28/18 sometime during the evening hours when he was returning home from work.  On 9/30/18 around 6:00 PM the roommate returned home and saw that his moped itself was stolen, but the front tire and chain were left behind.  He then went to check on reporting party (his roommates) moped and discovered that several parts were missing, but the frame and rear tire were left behind and still secured to the bike rack.  Parts of the moped that were stolen include the front plastic covering, front tire, and rear plastic covering.  This case is being investigated.

Saturday, September 29th

4:45 PM- The reporting party who rents a townhouse on Eliot St stated she was having issues with her bathroom and called the management company to come address the issue.  She stated that the maintenance representative from the management company came around 8:30 AM.  The reporting party described the maintenance representative as “the older man”.  She stated that he has always done the work for her and she has never had a problem.  She reported this time he came with a younger man who she had never seen before.  She thought he was training the man or he was his assistant.  While they were working, the younger man was walking back and forth from the bathroom out to the truck and back.  The reporting party reports being home at the time but stayed away from them so they could work.  She reports them leaving around 10:40 AM after they fixed the problems.  After they left, she noticed money was missing from her purse. She told the officer her purse was near the front door and she believed that the cash may have been visible in the purse.  She remembers seeing the cash in her purse earlier in the morning before they came and it was gone after they left.  She attempted to contact the management company but they were closed for the weekend.  This case is under investigation.

4:35 PM- Officers were dispatched to Commonwealth Ave for a report of a larceny from a motor vehicle.  The complainant stated she left her vehicle in a car repair parking lot around 8:45 AM to be serviced.  She checked in at the service counter and was told to return at a later time to pick up her vehicle.  She returned around 6:00 PM.  She reported her vehicle was locked when she retrieved it from the parking lot and subsequently drove it home to Cambridge, MA.  When she arrived at home she reached for her sunglasses case which is kept in the storage compartment under the climate control and radio console.  This storage compartment does not have a cover that will shield the contents inside.  When she opened her sunglasses case it was empty.  She then checked another sunglasses case which is kept in the same compartment and discovered that sunglasses were not in that case either.  She was adamant that the sunglasses were inside their respective cases when she brought her vehicle in for service.  An officer spoke with the store manager on duty who stated the customer arrived and parked her vehicle in the parking lot at approximately 8:45 AM.  The vehicle was taken into the garage bay for service by an employee.  The vehicle sat in the bay until 9:45 AM as it was determined that parts were necessary for the service and had to be ordered and picked up at another location.  The vehicle was taken out of the garage bay and parked in the parking lot by the employee that was going to service the car.  The vehicle sat in the parking lot between 9:45 AM and 1:00 PM.  Both the manager on duty and the employee stated the vehicle was locked when it was put in the parking lot as the headlights on the vehicle flashed when the employee used the remote key to lock it.  It is possible the unlock button was hit.  The car was taken into the garage bay again around 1:00 PM to be serviced when the parts arrived.  The employee brought the vehicle in.  The service was completed by 2:00 PM and the vehicle was taken out of the garage bay and parked in the parking lot by a different employee.  The other employee and the employee who worked on the car both stated that they did not remove the sunglasses or any other contents from the vehicle.  This case is being investigated.

Friday, September 28th

11:35 AM- A report of a shoplifting incident on Harvard Street was broadcasted by Brookline Dispatch.  Dispatch provided a description of the suspect as a black female wearing a blue jacket and carrying a large bag.  She was reported to be traveling South on Harvard St towards Walgreens.  An officer located the suspect in front of the Walgreens.  She did not have the jacket on but stated she took the blue jacket off because it was ripped.  She was in possession of a grocery bag that was filled with several unopened packages of bar soaps.  An officer spoke with the reporting party and witness.  A cashier stated she saw the suspect enter the store and grab several plastic bags near the entrance.  She was not carrying anything when she entered the store.  The cashier stated the next time she saw the individual; she was attempting to walk out with a store bag that appeared to be full.  The cashier intercepted the suspect before she left and told her that she knew she didn’t pay for the items she was carrying.  It was then said that the suspect walked around her and left the store, traveling south on Harvard Street.  The items taken from the store were returned by an officer.  The suspect was placed under arrest for shoplifting and transported to the station.
