10:15 PM - An officer assigned to the front desk took a report Tuesday night about a credit card that was used fraudulently. The victim stated that after using his credit card at a local restaurant, he placed it back in his wallet. When looking at his wallet around 5:40 PM, he noticed that it was gone and that fraudulent charges had been made throughout the afternoon of 6/18. This incident is being investigated.

6/20

9:50 AM - An officer responded to Beacon Street for a larceny report. The victim told police that sometime between 10:00 PM on 6/19 and 8:00 AM on 6/20, flower pots, plants and flowers were stolen from her garden. Police are investigating this incident.

3:00 PM - Officers were dispatched to Beacon Street for the report of a past Breaking & Entering & Larceny of a Motor Vehicle. Officers met the victim who stated she had parked in the back lot of her building on 6/15 at approximately 4:00 PM. She didn't return to her car until 6/20 when she noticed items from her glove compartment and center console scattered around the inside of her vehicle. Stolen from the vehicle were 3 pairs of sunglasses, 2 phone chargers, a GPS and approximately $50 dollars. This incident is being investigated.

5:56 PM - An officer was dispatched to Harvard Ave to take a report of a past package theft Wednesday evening. The victim relayed to the officer that a package had been delivered to her residence on 6/16 in the vestibule of her building; confirmed by both the tracking number and a picture provided by who delivered it. When returning home on 6/17, the package was no longer there. The package contained a pair of grey shoes. This incident is being investigated.

Monday, June 18th

6/18

8:25 AM - An officer was dispatched to Chatham Street for a past Breaking & Entering & Larceny of a Motor Vehicle. The victim told the officer that she parked her vehicle in her driveway around 6:45 PM on Sunday evening and returned to see her car rifled through around 7:00 AM Monday morning. Missing from the vehicle were sunglasses and its case and a gym bag containing clothes. This incident is being investigated.

10:58 AM - An officer was dispatched to Brookline Place for a larceny report. The caller stated that money from the front desk of the commercial property had been taken over the weekend. The reporting party stated that no other items were taken. A follow-up has been requested. This case is being investigated.

1:00 PM - Officers were dispatched to Ivy Street for the report of a past Breaking and Entering and Larceny of Motor Vehicle. Officers met with the victim who stated that she had returned home last night around 9:00 PM and left her bag in the back seat of the car. When returning to her vehicle this morning, she noticed that her bag was missing. The bag contained various clothing items. This incident is being investigated.

4:45 PM - Officers responded to the front desk of the station for a stolen motor vehicle report. The assistant manager of a local rental car company relayed to officers that two men had come into the agency and rented a car for one day. After the vehicle had not been returned for a couple of days, an attempt was made to contact the suspects which yielded negative results. A follow-up has been requested as this incident is being investigated.

June 15th and 16th

6/15

11:04 AM - Officers were dispatched to Francis Street Friday morning for a report of a dog bite. The victim was bitten on the right hand by an unleashed dog and had sustained small lacerations. The victim also stated that before leaving the area, the owner did not identify themselves or the dog. Police were able to identify the owner and the dog and determined after a quick investigation that the dog involved was not aggressive and that there were no indications that he is a danger to the public. An Animal Contact Report was completed and faxed to the Health Department.

4:36 PM - A victim of Identity Theft came into the station Friday afternoon, stating that a bank account was opened in his name. The victim stated that he had received banking statements with two separate accounts opened that he does not have with that bank. The victim was advised to contact major credit bureaus and the Federal Trade Commission regarding this incident. Police are investigating.


6/16

7:30 AM - Officers were dispatched to Cypress Street Saturday morning to take a burglary report. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the residents who stated an unknown male party was in their apartment sleeping. Police observed that the glass to the front door of the residence was broken. Officers entered the residence and saw the aforementioned party sleeping in one of the bedrooms. Brookline PD woke up the suspect who was confused as to where he was and how he got there. The 23 year old Boston resident was arrested and charged with Breaking & Entering in the Nighttime with Intent to Commit a Misdemeanor.

9:45 PM - An officer was dispatched to Beacon Street for a report of a stolen bike Saturday night. The victim explained that she had locked her bike to a bike rack in front of her residence that morning. When she returned to where she locked it at approximately 9:45, the bike and lock were gone. This incident is being investigated.

Thursday, June 14th

6/14

12:30 PM - Brookline PD responded to Harvard Street for a report of a recent shoplifting Thursday afternoon. The manager told officers that at approximately 12:20 PM, a man walked into the store, went over to a display table and placed 6 t-shirts into a plastic bag before leaving the store without paying for the merchandise. A search of the area yielded negative results.

6:20 PM - An officer was dispatched to Harvard Street Thursday evening for a bicycle theft report. The caller told the officer that she had rode home on her bike and locked it to a street sign pole just before 5:10 PM. She had come back out from her apartment at 5:50 PM and discovered that her bike was missing and that the cable lock that secured her bike was cut and lying on the ground. This incident is being investigated.

Wednesday, June 13th

6/13

8:52 AM - An officer responded to Spooner Road to take a report of a past Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. The victim stated that she had parked her car in her driveway the night prior at approximately 11:30 PM. When she returned to her vehicle Wednesday morning, she observed it rifled through with a few dollars in change missing. This incident is being investigated.

8:56 AM - An officer was dispatched to Mason Terrace for a report of a past Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle that occurred on Tuesday. The victim told police that her car was broken into sometime between 6:00 PM Tuesday and 8:00 AM Wednesday morning. She also stated that about $50 dollars in cash and some loose change was stolen from her vehicle. This incident is being investigated.

5:35 PM - Brookline Police were dispatched to a shoplifting in progress call from a Harvard Street business on Wednesday evening. The sales supervisor and an off-duty employee relayed to officers that at approximately 4:45 PM, a male party walked into the store and began browsing around. He remained in the store until approximately 5:30 PM when the store's anti-theft detection system was activated. The male subject then ran out of the store and took off on a bicycle. The detection system notified store employees that a cell phone was stolen from the business. Police canvassed the area with negative results. This incident is being investigated.

Tuesday, June 12th

3:44 PM - An officer responded to the Cypress Street area for a report of malicious damage. The victim stated that his vehicle was spray painted sometime between June 5th and June 6th. A line of white spray paint was observed along the passenger's side of the vehicle. The officer noticed that the damage to the victim's car was consistent with the string of malicious damage reports taken last week. The officer took photos of the damaged vehicle.

Monday, June 11th

6/11

12:45 PM - An officer was dispatched to Boylston Street to take a report of a past Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer met with the victim who stated she had parked in a lot behind a vacant building at approximately 11:00 AM. When she returned to her car at 12:40 PM, she discovered that the passenger side window was smashed and two bags, containing various items, had been stolen from the vehicle. This incident is being investigated.

June 8th through June 10th

10:42 AM - An officer was dispatched to Cabot Street for a malicious damage/graffiti report Friday morning. The reporting party stated that he had been doing contracting work at the Cabot Street residence and had left the property Thursday night at approximately 9:30 PM. When the contractor returned at approximately 6:30 AM Friday morning, he noticed that someone had spray painted the garage doors and tagged a piece of dry wall within the property. There was no other damage reported and nothing was stolen. This incident is being investigated.

10:37 AM - Saturday morning, a man came into the station to report a bicycle theft. He stated that between 5/21/2018 and 5/28/2018, his locked bike was taken from his home on Gerry Road. At this time, there are no suspects. This incident is being investigated.

11:41 AM - An officer was dispatched to a gym on Commonwealth Avenue for a larceny report. The victim stated that she had went to the gym on Friday, June 8th from approximately 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The victim placed her purse in an unsecured locker while she worked out. That Saturday morning, she had gone to use her credit card but was unable to find it. After checking online, she was able to see fraudulent transaction made on her card. The victim also told police that approximately $18.00 in cash was taken from her purse. A follow-up has been requested. This incident is being investigated.

8:50 AM - Sunday morning, police were dispatched to the area of Monmouth Street and Monmouth Court for a report of a package theft that had just occurred. The caller relayed to an officer that he had observed a female subject take a package off the steps of a residence on Monmouth Court. He then observed her walk away towards Carlton Path and open up the package. Brookline PD was able to contact the victim on Monmouth Court who stated that the package contained camera accessories. The caller was able to provide police with a description and the packaging left by the suspect was submitted into evidence. This incident is being investigated.

Thursday, June 7th

6/7

On Thursday evening, officers responded to Thayer Street for a report of a breaking and entering/suspicious activity that had occurred on Tuesday, June 5th. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the caller who stated she believed someone was in her apartment without her consent. When she had returned home from work that day she discovered that her refrigerator and freezer were completely emptied out and that both appeared to have been cleaned also. The caller looked around her residence and determined that nothing else had been removed.

Officers then spoke with residents of near-by apartments to see if they had noticed anything strange that past Tuesday. The residents stated that they didn't see anything out of the ordinary and that their own apartments had not been broken into.

After a quick investigation by police, it was found that an apartment within the same building was under renovation. Officers spoke with the new resident of the renovated apartment who was advised of the circumstances. She told officers that she had been expecting a house cleaner on Tuesday that never showed up. She also stated that she had spoke with the cleaner and was told by him that he was at her apartment and was cleaning out her refrigerator.

Brookline PD spoke with the cleaner, who admitted to being in the wrong apartment, cleaning out the freezer/refrigerator. He was apologetic and offered to replace any items over the confusion of the situation.

Officers then spoke with the original caller and notified her of the confusion. The caller was relieved and happy to know what happened. All parties in this matter have been identified.

Arrest Made / subject secretly videotaping

This afternoon detectives arrested a male subject and charged him with several counts of secretly videotaping people. The charges come after an investigation produced videos of patrons in a bathroom at his place of employment. The location is Taam China restaurant 423 Harvard Street Brookline Mass.

The subject has been arrested and is scheduled to be arraigned in Brookline District Court on Friday June 8, 2018.

Wednesday, June 6th

At approximately 8:00 PM on Wednesday evening, Brookline Police Dispatch received a call regarding a Town of Brookline By-Law Violation. The reporting party stated that a construction crew had been working in their residential area past 7:00 PM. The reporting party stated that she had asked the crew to cease for the evening and the crew responded to her request in a confrontational way. An officer was dispatched to the area of Brington Road where the company and it's employees were advised of the Town's By-Law and began wrapping up their work for the day.

Tuesday, June 5th

7:17 PM - An officer assigned to the front desk was met by a victim who wanted to report a stolen bicycle. The victim told police that she had placed her bike in her residential underground garage on Sewall Ave. the evening of Thursday, May 31st. During the afternoon of Sunday, June 3rd, she noticed her bike was gone. This incident is being investigated.


Overnight String of Malicious Damage Reports

Between approximately 5:45 PM and 9:30 PM Tuesday evening, several calls were made to Brookline Police regarding Malicious Damage to Automobiles.

Around 7:45, 4 motor vehicles parked on Prince Street had spray paint on them, appearing to be sprayed in a line. As police were talking to the Prince Street victims, Brookline Police Dispatch stated that a resident on Cypress Street also had malicious damage to their motor vehicle.

The officer responding to Cypress Street immediately observed multiple cars with white spray paint on them as they arrived on scene. While speaking with this victim in their driveway, the officer observed more white spray paint on the front of a restaurant near the victim's home. The Cypress Street victim was advised and the officer began to follow the trails of spray paint.

The officer began driving and noticed the same white spray paint on the front of a store. After pulling over, they began walking and observed fresh paint on a door, fence, grill and numerous spots on High Street. The officer was able to find 2 cans of spray paint located in some bushes on High Street that matched the colors observed on the various cars and properties. The cans were photographed as evidence.

Through the investigation, two juvenile suspects were developed and officers spoke with their parents. The youth admitted to the incidents.

Monday, June 4th

9:30 AM - An officer assigned to the front desk Monday morning was met by a man who wanted to report a case of fraud. The man told the officer that he found a letter in the mail attempting to extort money from him, claiming that they knew a "secret" that they would reveal if he did not make the necessary payment. Similar cases have been previously reported. If you believe you are a victim, it's advised that you contact Brookline Police and file a report. This incident is being investigated.

12:12 PM - Officers responded to Park Street Monday afternoon for a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting party who stated on behalf of the victim that three of her rings had gone missing. This incident is being investigated.

1:26 PM - An officer stationed to the front desk at Brookline PD was met by a victim who wanted to report a past package theft that occurred on Wolcott Road. The victim stated that she had ordered a camera on the internet towards the end of May. Multiple e-mails notified her that her package had shipped and also provided her with a tracking number. The victim finally received another email saying that her package had been delivered to her residence. She reported that she had been home that day and that no one had come to her door to make a delivery, nor was a package left for her at her residence. This incident is being investigated.

7:14 PM - Several units responded to Freeman Street to take a report of a package theft Monday evening. The caller told police that he had witness two individuals open packages and throw the empty boxes into recycling bins on the sidewalk. While exiting his vehicle, a man on the other side of Freeman Street stated that he also witnessed these two individuals placing boxes into recycling bins. Officers were able to locate the two empty packages, each one addressed to two different addresses/addressees. Officers then spoke with one of the victims, a Babcock Street resident, that stated he and his girlfriend had been expecting a package in the mail over the last few days. At the time of reporting, Brookline PD was unable to reach the other victim of these package thefts for more information. The retrieved packaging was placed into evidence. This incident is being investigated.

June 1st through June 3rd

10:58 AM - Police were dispatched to Pleasant Street to take a report of a stolen bicycle. The victim stated that she had put her unlocked bike in the front of her building's garden on Thursday 5/31. Friday morning the victim returned to the location she had left her bike to find it missing. Officers are trying to identify a suspect at this time.

1:12 PM - An officer responded to the area of Washington Street at Griggs Road for a report of a larceny of bicycle that had just occurred. The reporting party witnessed a young male, wearing beige pants and a light colored shirt take a bike from his neighbor's yard. The witness told police that he yelled at the suspect upon seeing him take the bike from over his neighbor's fence. Police canvassed the area and found a man that matched the witness' description where he immediately was honest with officers stating that he had taken the bike from that residence. The 23 year old Boston resident was placed under arrest.

9:52 PM - An officer at a traffic post was approached by a man who wanted to report that someone had broken into his car and stole a pair of sunglasses. The victim continued to tell the officer that around 5:00 PM that day, a witness approached the victim while he was making his way to his car. The witness told the victim that he watched a person in the parking lot attempt to gain access to vehicles and that one of them looked like his. The victim then observed that his car had been rummaged through and a pair of sunglasses had been stolen. Although the witness stated he saw the suspect attempt to gain access to more than one vehicle, Brookline PD has no other victims who had filed a report during the time this car break occurred.

11:00 PM - Police were dispatched to Harvard Street for a report of a past shoplifting Friday night. The responding officer spoke with the manager who stated they had observed footage of a man stuff approximately 6 graphic t-shirts into a bag a couple of hours prior. A follow-up has been requested.

10:00 AM - An officer was informed that a tree company was blocking pedestrian access on Marion Street Saturday morning. It was found that the company didn't have proper signage at the work site so an officer responded to Marion Street and spoke with the work foreman. The work foreman asked the officer to contact his supervisor to settle the matter. The company at hand has been warned numerous times by the Town of Brookline regarding Town By-Law Violations. On the basis of this incident, the owner of the company is being summonsed to Brookline District Court for Willful Violation of Town By-Law: Construction in the Streets.

12:31 PM - Officers responded to Park Street for a report of a missing ring. The reporting party stated that a family member's ring had went missing on May 31st. The reporting party was advised to follow up with places the ring may have gone missing. There is no more information at this time as police investigate the whereabouts of the ring.

9:58 PM - Police responded to Blake Road Saturday night for a past residential breaking and entering. The home owners told officers that their neighbor had seen a person walking around their property on Friday. On Saturday, the victims noticed that the rear door to their basement had been forced open. No property was reported missing and no other damage was reported at their residence. Police are continuing to investigate.

10:22 AM - An officer was dispatched to Monmouth Street to take a larceny report. Upon arrival, the officer was met with the victim who stated that her bicycle that she had placed in her unlocked shed was missing. No other items were taken from the victim's shed. This incident is under investigation.

1:36 PM - Police responded to Beacon Street Sunday afternoon to take a report of a past shoplifting. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a store employee who stated that a female had stolen several items from the store a few days prior. After discussing with the owner, they decided against filling a report until a person, believed to be the same woman, entered the store on Sunday. After being confronted by store employees, she stated that she was not from the area and left the store. A follow up has been requested.

Thursday, May 31st

1:10 PM - An officer responded to Kent Street to take a report of a past larceny Thursday afternoon. Upon arrival, the reporting parties stated that they had been doing laundry in their residence on the evening of 5/27 and returned the next morning to find various items missing from the dryer. Police are investigating.

May 29th through May 30th

5/29

8:30 AM – An officer was dispatched to Lee Street to take a burglary report Tuesday morning. Upon arrival, the officer met with the contractor who has been working on the burglarized residence that's under construction. He stated that his painters had left the home on Saturday to find that a Bluetooth speaker within the property was stolen upon returning Monday morning. He also observed muddy footprints and paint on the walls not done by the painters working on the property. This case is under investigation.

10:00 AM – An officer was dispatched to Blake Road to take a reported package theft. The officer spoke with the reporting party who stated that three of her packages delivered on Sunday were missing. This is an active case.

5/30

5:41 PM – An officer took a report for a package theft Wednesday afternoon at the front desk. The victim relayed that she had ordered items from EBAY that was confirmed delivered to her Harvard Street residence on Wednesday. When the victim went to retrieve the package from the common area of her apartment, it could not be located. Brookline PD is investigating.

May 23 through May 27

5/23/2018

On 5/23, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Beacon St. for a report of a past burglary. The reporting party stated that he left his apartment for approximately one hour that evening and when he returned, 2 laptops were missing. The incident is under investigation.

5/24/2018

On 5/24 officers were dispatched to Monmouth St. for a breaking and entering. The homeowner stated he had been upstairs when he heard a female voice and went to investigate. The man stated that he observed an unknown female in his kitchen and when he told her he was calling police, she left the residence. Officers located the female suspect and found that she had two active warrants in her name. The woman was placed under arrest and was also charged with Breaking and Entering in the Daytime with intent to commit a Felony.

In the evening an officer was dispatched to St. Paul St for a report of a stolen bicycle. The reporting party stated she had locked her Black Cannondale bike to a bike rack the night before and when she returned, the front tire and lock were still there but the rest of the bike was gone.

5/25/2018

Early on 5/25, officers were dispatched to Babcock St for a report of an apartment that had just been broken into. The reporting party stated she had awoken to the sound of her apartment door opening and when she went to investigate she observed an unknown male in her kitchen. Upon seeing her, the suspect fled. The reporting party stated that $20 was missing. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.

In the afternoon of May 25, officers were dispatched to Pond Av for a past breaking and entering. The reporting parties stated that they were out of town and when they returned home their belongings had been rifled through and several pieces of jewelry were missing. The incident is under investigation.

In the evening of May 25, an officer responded to a call for a bat in a residence on Washington St. The reporting party was able to capture the bat in a cardboard box. The officer assisted the reporting party in submitting the bat for testing.

5/26/2018

On May 26, officers were dispatched to St. Paul St for a report of a man pointing a gun at two people. On arrival, the reporting parties stated they were walking when a vehicle passed them traveling at a high rate of speed. The reporting parties then waved their arms at the vehicle in an attempt to have them slow down. At this time, the vehicle pulled over and the driver asked the reporting parties whether they were police before brandishing a firearm at them. The vehicle then pulled into a parking lot and a verbal argument ensued. On scene, the operator of the vehicle admitted to pointing a pellet gun at the two individuals who had attempted to get him to slow down. The operator turned over the pellet gun and was placed under arrest for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

5/27/2018

On May 27, officers were dispatched to a store on Washington St for a report of a shoplifter. The reporting party stated that she had observed a male party enter the store and place several items into a shopping bag before leaving without paying. Officers located a man fitting the description and he admitted to taking the items. The man was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

5/28/2018

Early on May 28, officers were dispatched to a residence on Dwight St for a past breaking and entering. The reporting parties stated that they were gone over the weekend and returned to find all their closet and cabinet doors open with items rifled through. The reporting parties stated that a ring was missing. The incident is being investigated.

5/29/2018

On May 29, the Brookline Animal Control Line received a message about a dog being attacked by another dog on 5/19. The reporting party stated that he had been at Winthrop Park with his dog off leash when another off leash dog charged and attacked. The reporting party stated he exchanged information with the other owner. Both owners were issued citations for Dog at Large for having their dogs off leash in the park. The owner of the attacking dog is also being cited with Biting or Injuring another Domestic Animal.

The Brookline Animal Control also received a report of an incident occurring on May 25. The reporting party stated that he was raking grass at Warren Park when an off leash dog approached him and bit his calf. The reporting party stated that the dog continued to bark and lunge towards him as he used the rake as a shield. The reporting party had gotten the information of the owner of the dog. The owner is being cited for Dog at Large and Biting or Injuring a Person.

May 22, 2018

Early on May 22, an officer was dispatched to Thorndike St for a report of two stolen bicycles. The reporting party stated that sometime between 9pm the previous night and 5:45am that morning his unsecured identical Trek bikes were removed from his backyard. The incident is being investigated.

On May 22, a woman came into the police station to report a past larceny. The reporting party stated that while working at a business on Station St the day before her wallet had been stolen. The woman stated that her purse had been located in an employee’s only section of the store and at one point she had walked back to her desk and observed an unknown female party located in the restricted section. The reporting party stated that a few minutes later the unknown female was gone and later that day she discovered her purse missing. Prior to coming to the police station to report the incident, the reporting party located her purse stuffed underneath a chair where the unknown female had been located the day before. The reporting party’s wallet was missing from her purse. The incident is under investigation.

In the evening of May 22, an officer responded to Egmont St for a report of a stolen bicycle. The reporting party stated that sometime between the morning of May 18 and 9am on May 22, her bike was stolen from where it had been locked in rear of her building. The incident is being investigated.

Monday, May 21st

5/21

8:55 AM - On Monday, an officer checked in on a local business on Commonwealth Avenue after a customer had received vehicle inspection services a few weeks ago and left without paying for them. The manager of the business stated to the officer that the suspect had still not come back to pay the service fee, as of yesterday. It was at that time that the officer dispatched was able to locate the suspect and inform her that leaving without paying for services is a larceny in the State of Massachusetts. The irritable suspect then began yelling at officers, still refusing to pay the overdue charges. Due to the suspect's persistent refusal, she was charged with Altering, Forging or Possessing Fake Vehicle Documents. A complaint was filed with Brookline District Court.

May 15th through May 20th

5/15

10:32 AM - Animal Control received a call about a dog bite incident that had occurred earlier this month at Amory Park. The caller explained that she was at the park with her brother and mother when an off-leash dog came up and bit her brother while he was riding his scooter. The owner of the dog was cooperative and provided the victim with his contact information, along with the dog’s rabies vaccination. Upon contacting the owner, Brookline Animal Control determined that the dog was not registered with the Town of Brookline and should not have been off-leash. The owner of the Hound/Lab mix was issued a violation for No License and Dog at Large.

5/16

9:22 AM – An officer was dispatched to Toxteth Street to take a report of a past breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim told the officer that she had parked her car in her driveway the night prior and upon coming out this morning noticed her vehicle had been rummaged through.

2:00 PM – An officer was dispatched to the front desk to take a report of a past Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle. The victim stated that her vehicle was parked in her assigned spot last week. When going to her vehicle the next morning, she found that someone had rummaged through it, in addition to stealing loose change. An item not belonging to the victim was also found within her vehicle which will be submitted as evidence.

10:30 AM – On Thursday, an officer took a report of a stolen motor vehicle at the front desk of Brookline PD Headquarters. The victim had leased a vehicle from a local dealership and was unable to locate it. A stolen motor vehicle form was completed.

8:30 AM – Brookline PD Animal Control was dispatched to Walnut Street for a call regarding a bat that was hanging outside a bedroom door frame. The bat was taken to Angel Memorial Animal Hospital and was tested for rabies by the Department of Public Health.

2:20 PM – A Property Manager came into the station to report a past graffiti incident located on Marion Street on Friday. Photographs were taken of the graffiti on the company’s property. Police are investigating.

2:36 PM – An officer took a walk-in report at the front desk for a past package theft that occurred on Davis Ave earlier this month. After the victim received delivery confirmation, she was unable to locate the package.

6:50 PM – Officers were dispatched to St. Paul Street for a Past residential Breaking and Entering and Larceny. The victims told officers that someone had broken into their apartment and stole two laptops while they were not home. The apartment was processed. Brookline PD is continuing to investigate.

7:20 AM – An officer was dispatched to Boylston Street for a past attempted Breaking and Entering of a Commercial Property. The owner of the business told the officer that while he was opening up the business for the day last week earlier in the week, he observed pry marks on the exterior door. This investigation is on-going.

11:03 AM – Officers were dispatched to the area of Griggs Terrace for a report of a Breaking and Entering that had just occurred. The victim reported that she observed a stranger in an upstairs room within her home. After confronting the suspect, he left the residence and the victim called police. It was determined that the suspect had stolen a bag and 2 clothing items while inside the residence. Units were able to locate the suspect on Beacon Street shortly after the Breaking and Entering happened.  Brookline Police placed the 36 year-old Boston resident under arrest and was charged for Breaking and Entering with Intent to Commit a Felony.

7:44 PM – A person came into the station concerned about being a victim of identity fraud Saturday evening. The victim told the officer at the front desk that a neighbor had seen someone knocking at her front door this morning while she was not home. Upon returning back to her residence, she saw a note with her name on it requesting her to call the phone number listed. Upon calling, she was told by a woman when calling the number about an outstanding balance on an account. The woman claiming the victim had an outstanding balance would not give her any further information. Brookline PD provided the victim with proper contact information to document this incident.

5:40 PM – An officer was dispatched to Linden Street on Sunday to take a report for a past larceny. The victim told the responding officer that she had walked outside to take her child for a walk when she realized one of her baby strollers had been stolen off of her front porch. This is an active case.
