Police Reports 8/24-8/27

 Sector 1 

Assault: 8/25 at 2:49pm – Beacon St and Harvard St

Officers were alerted by witnesses that they observed two men fighting. Victim stated that he and a male subject got into a verbal agreement. The subject bumped him with his body twice and then punched the victim in the face. Subject will be summonsed in for Assault and Battery.

Sector 1

Accident MV/Property: 8/25 at 7:27am - St. Paul St

Caller stated that she saw a vehicle on the front part of her driveway and the side walk.  Caller then stated that after the crash, the vehicle had a flat tire and it began to pull away slowly. The vehicle later pulled up and was immediately identified by the caller. Driver stated that he fell asleep and his vehicle ran up the curb, struck the sign and stopped in front of St. Paul St.  Driver was issued citation for Marked lanes violation and Driving upon sidewalk. 

Sector 1

Warrant: 8/24 at 10:30pm – Amory Park

Officer observed a vehicle parked in Amory Park which was closed with signs clearly posted at the entrance to the park. As the officer approached the vehicle, he saw a clear plastic bag containing marijuana- that was in plain view in the center consul of the vehicle. One party in the vehicle was placed under arrest for a default warrant. All parties in the vehicle were issued a Town By Law Citation for Possession of less than an Ounce of Marijuana.

Sector 2

MV Theft: 8/25 at 3:52pm – Perry St

Victim stated his wallet and truck missing. He has since cancelled the credit card and reports no pending transactions from the card. On 8/26 he stated that cash withdrawal was made in his bank statement.

Sector 3

Assault: 8/26 at 2:35am – Harvard St toward Centre St

Officers were dispatched to a residence to speak with a party about a suspicious person. Caller stated that a female party had been walking through an alley when a male party had attempted to grab her. As she tugged away from the suspect, he struck her in the face with an open hand. The victim was uninjured and did not require any medical attention. Suspect is described as a Middle Eastern man in his 20-30s, average build, 5'5" to 5'11" with curly black hair that was approximately neck length and was gelled back.  He was wearing a white or light colored button up shirt.

Sector 3

Bike Larceny: Occurred sometime after  8/24 at 10:00pm – Beacon St

Victim stated that her bicycle was stolen off the bike rack in the rear of the building.

Sector 4

Bike Larceny: Occurred 8/23 b/t 5:00pm & 8/26 b/t 5:00pm – Cypress Street

Officer responded to a report of a stolen bicycle. Victim stated that he last placed his bike unlocked in the garage of his apartment building. On 8/26, victim discovered his bicycle-damaged- leaning on a pole along the walkway that leads to Cypress Street.

Sector 8

Malicious Damage Auto: 8/25 at 8:00pm – Hammond St towards Woodland Road

Victims (passenger and driver) stated that as vehicle cut them off, victims  sounded his horn as a warning to the other driver in an effort to avoid a collision. The driver of the vehicle pulled over to the side of the road, exited his car and struck (kicked) the vehicle on the passenger's side rear quarter panel resulting in a dent on that side.

Operating After Suspension: 8/25 at 12:40am – Cypress St

Officer observed a vehicle make an illegal U-Turn. A vehicles registration check revealed that the Driver’s right to operate a MV was suspended. Driver was placed under arrest for Operating a MV with a Suspended License.

Not Duly Licensed: 8/27 at 1:10am – Eliot Ave

Officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. A registration check revealed that the operator did not have a driver's license or a learner's permit. Operator was placed under arrest for Operating without a Driver's License. Officers later uncovered marijuana in the middle console of the vehicle. Operator was issued a civil citation for possession of less than one ounce of Marijuana.

Operating After Suspension: 8/25 at 7:40pm – Harvard St

Officer observed a vehicle making an illegal U-turn around a median divider and reverse direction. A registration query revealed that the operator’s license was suspended. Operator was placed under arrest and cited for After Suspension and an Illegal U-Turn.

Sector 1
Larceny-Shoplifting: 8/23 at 11:40am - Harvard St
Officer responded to a report of a shoplifting in progress. the loss prevention representative stated that he observed the suspect take several sweaters. The items were later retrieved from the suspect’s bag. Suspect was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

Sector 3
Larceny: 8/24 at 1:00am – Beacon St
Victim stated that his stroller was removed from under the tarp and stolen. She stated that he  left the stroller unlocked, under a tarp, in the rear of his home. The area from which the stroller was stolen is a secluded parking lot which is accessed off of Lancaster Terrace.

Sector 4
Burglary: 8/23 at 1:30am-2:00am – Walnut St
Victim stated that two male suspects had broken into her apartment earlier this morning and the back door was kicked in. Victim claimed she recognized the two male suspects. Officers were able to obtain the addresses and telephone numbers listed to both parties. Both male suspects were later found, placed under arrest, and charged for Breaking and Entering in the Night Time with intent to commit a felony.

Sector 4
Accident: 8/23 at 5:28pm – Washington St / Beacon St
Veh #1 was driving north bound on Beacon Street approaching the turn around at Westbourne Terrace when Veh #2 completing a U-turn onto Beacon Street and  hit Veh #1. Passenger of Veh#1 sustained laceration to her head.

Sector 7
Accident: 8/23 11:24pm - Philbrick Rd and Boylston St
Units responded to a report for a tree down on a vehicle. The operator of the vehicle had already exited the vehicle and was unharmed. She stated that she was just driving down Boylston St. (Westbound) when suddenly a tree fell on top of her vehicle. The Brookline Highway/Forestry Department was notified.

Sector 9
ID Fraud: Reported 8/23 at 3:51pm – Rangeley Rd
Victim reported that an account was opened in his name. It is unknown where or how this account was opened at this time. Victim was advised to contact one of the three credit bureau fraud departments.

Police Reports 8/22

 OUIL: 8/23 at 1:40am - Longwood Ave at St Paul St

Officer observed a vehicle cross the marked double yellow line in front of a resident on Longwood Ave. As the officer approached the vehicle, he detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. Officer also observed that the operator had blood shot eyes. Operator was placed under arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor and Failure to Stay in Marked Lanes.

Warrant: 8/22 at 7:07pm – Beacon St

Officers observed a subject who was known to have 2 outstanding warrants for his arrest: Operating After Suspension and Number Plate Violation to Conceal ID.  Subject was placed under arrest for the warrants.

Attempted Larceny: 8/22 at 6:24pm – Winthrop Rd

Officer responded to a report of an attempted larceny of a bicycle. Witness stated that he observed a male subject leap over his neighbor’s fence and then observed a bicycle come over the fence from his neighbor's yard. Witness than stated that the subject then left the bicycle where it was and walked back up the driveway/walkway towards Winthrop Rd. Subject is described as a black male in his mid-20s, nicely dressed, wearing a white shirt, khaki pants, short cropped hair, lean build, approximately 5'10"

Larceny: July 15

Victim reported her TV stolen out of her apartment approximately one month ago. She initially believed the TV had been stolen, but dismissed this notion, and thought that it had just been misplaced. Officers noticed no evidence of forced entry and the doors and locks appear to be intact. No other electronics or other items of value have gone missing.

Police Reports 8/22

Operating After Suspension: 8/22 at 3:20am – Boylston St

Officer was performing radar enforcement when he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. A vehicle’s registration check revealed that the operator’s license was suspended. Operator was placed under arrest and issued citations for Operating After License Suspension, Operating MV with License Not In Possession, and Speeding.

Operating After Suspension: 8/22 at 2:30am – Commonwealth Avenue & Babcock St

Officer noticed an operator of a vehicle driving slowly and continued to drive through a solid red light. A vehicle’s registration check revealed that the operator’s license was suspended. Operator was placed under arrest and charged for driving for Operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license, failing to stop for a red light.

 Not Duly License: 8/22 at 12:41am – Washington St

Officer observed a vehicle that did not have a valid inspection sticker. A vehicle registration query revealed that the operator had an expired non-renewable drivers license. Operator was placed under arrest and charged for Unlicensed Operation of Motor Vehicle and Failure to Submit Vehicle for Inspection.

Burglary: Occurred between 8/10 - 8/21 at 6:47pm – Russett Rd

Officer responded to a residence on a report of a past attempted residential Breaking and Entering. Resident stated that he returned from a vacation and noticed the screen on the window damaged. Nothing was reported stolen.

Larceny-Shoplifting: 8/81 at 2:03pm -2:19am – Commonwealth Ave

Officer responded to a report of a past shoplifting. Manager and Loss Prevention Officer discovered that a shoplifting of over the counter medicine had occurred. Subjects are described as a back male wearing a white Adidas shirt, and a blue Yankees hat, and another black male wearing blue jeans and a black t-shirt.

Larceny-Shoplifting: 8/21 at 4:03pm – Harvard St

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifting report. Manager stated that he observed a suspect placing items into his backpack. The manager confronted the suspect and recovered multiple stolen items. Suspect was placed under arrest and will be criminally charged for Shoplifting.

  

Larceny-Shoplifting: 8/21 at 12:46pm – Harvard St

Units responded to a report of a shoplifter leaving the store.  An officer observed a white female fitting the description of the same white female who exited the store without paying for the items. Suspect was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

MV Accident: 8/21 at 10:40am – Beacon St

Officer responded to a report of a hit and run causing property damage.  Witness stated that he heard and observed a vehicle leaving a parking spot that hit the parked car in front. Witness was able to write down the registration of the vehicle that fled. The owner of the vehicle will be issued a citation for Leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

Citizens Alert

We have received reports of people, specifically the elderly population, that the Brookline Fire Department has been soliciting donations for Dead/Injured Firefighters. At this time, the Brookline Fire Department is NOT holding any funds for donations. When they do hold donations, they do not contact private residents - only businesses. The Fire Department adheres to specific steps in recieving funds for their donations. Please be aware of unauthorized contacts and scams.

Police Reports 8/20 - 8/21

Sector 1

Bike Larceny: Occurred between 8/16 at 12:00m - 8/20 at 12:30pm– Freeman St

Victim reported his bike missing from a bike rack on the Dexter Park property. The lock and chain were also missing. 

Sector 3

Bike Larceny: 8/20 at 4:03pm– Beacon St

Victim stated that his bike was stolen from a locked storage unit located in the basement of his building.

MV Accident: 8/20 at 12:32pm – Beacon St

Operator of a vehicle was backing into a handicap parking spot and struck a parked motorcycle.

Sector 4

Possession: 8/21 at 1:59am – Pond Ave

Officer observed that the operator of a moped was not wearing a helmet. The operator claimed that he borrowed the moped from his friend. Operator will be issued for Not Duly Licensed, Operating a Moped without a helmet, One-way violation.

Sector 4

Operating After Suspension: 8/20 at 12:25pm – Harvard St

Officer observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn in an area of Harvard Street. A registration check revealed that the operator’s license was suspended. Operator was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspended license and will be cited for making a illegal U-turn.

Sector 4

Warrant/Traffic Violation: 8/20 at 7:40am - Boylston St and High St

Officer stopped a vehicle that went through a red traffic signal. A CJIS check showed that there was a warrant for the operator. Operator was issued a citation for Failing to Stop for a Red Light and placed under arrest for the warrant.

Sector 6

Not Duly Licensed: 8/20 at 10:28am – Boylston St

Officer observed 2 vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed at the same time. Both vehicles were stopped. Operator of vehicle 1 was cited for speeding and the operator of Vehicle 2 was placed under arrest for Not Being Duly Licensed. Officers later discovered marijuana and a ceramic pipe in vehicle 2. Operator of Vehicle 2 will also be issued a Town By Law Violation for Possession of less than 1 oz of Marijuana.

Sector 7

Accident: 8/20 at 4:50pm – Goddard Ave

Operator of a vehicle stated that as he was attempting to avoid contact with an animal, that crossed the road in front of him, he applied his brakes. As he applied his brakes, the rear wheel slide out from under his motorcycle and he fell to his side. Operator was transported to the hospital for further treatment.

Police Reports 8/16 - 8/19

Baby on the Way: 8/16 at 9:58pm – Kenwood Rd

Officers were sent to a medical emergency for a woman having labor pains. Officers arrived to assist the mother, and along with the Brookline Fire Department, in delivering the child at home. Mother and child were transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Pedestrian/Vehicle Accident: 8/19 at 10:40pm – Beacon St

Officers responded for a traffic accident involving a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. Driver claimed that the pedestrian ran out into the streets in front of his vehicle as he was traveling westbound on Beacon St. Officers arrived on scene to find the pedestrian conscious and breathing, and appearing to have a broken leg. She was takent o the hospital for further medical attention. At this time this crash is still under investigation.

Operating After Revocation: 8/19 at 6:42pm – Harvard St

Officers observed a vehicle, traveling southbound on Harvard St, with a missing front license plate. A query of the vehicle’s registration revealed that the registration had been cancelled and the vehicle was not registered and did not have insurance. Officers also observed that the vehicle's inspection sticker had expired. Following further investigation, a motor inventory search revealed a set of bolt cutters and a black scooter helmet. Driver was placed under arrest and charged with the following offenses:

Operating after Revocation (License), Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Attaching Number Plate, Number Plate Missing, Failure to Submit Vehicle for Inspection, Attaching Inspection Sticker, Possession of Burglarious Tools.

Operating After Revocation: 8/19 at 5:07pm - Beacon St

A random query of a vehicle's registration revealed that the registered owner had a suspended license. Operator was placed under arrest and charged for Operating After Suspension.

Bike Larceny: Occurred on 8/18 sometime between 11:00am & 10:00pm – Linden St

Officer responded to a resident on Linden Street for a report of a stolen bike. Owner of the bike states that her bike was parked in the rear of her house at the end of the driveway behind her grill, unlocked. 

Traffic Offenses: 8/16 at 8:30am - Hammond St and Woodland Rd

Officer was conducting traffic enforcement when a driver of a vehicle was traveling at a speed considered unreasonable, swerved around the stopped traffic in the left lane into the inside lane and caused the officer to jump out of the way to avoid getting struck. Driver will be issued a citation for Unsafe Lane Change.

Trespassing: 8/19 at 6:26pm – Beacon St

Officers responded for a suspicious person call. Caller observed a six foot tall, black male suspect within the trash receptacle at the rear of the building. Officers were unable to locate the suspect, nor the vehicle in which the subject used to leave the scene, but was able to retrieve identification from the license plate number. Suspect will be charged with Trespassing.

Operating After Suspension: 8/18 at 9:02pm - St. Paul St

Officer observed a vehicle with a missing front license plate. A query of the vehicle's registration revealed that the driver’s license was suspended. Further investigation revealed Marijuana in the center console of a vehicle. Driver will be charged with Operating after Suspension (License), Failure to Submit MV for inspection, Number Plate violation, Possession of One Ounce or Less of Marijuana.

MV Fire: 8/18 at 5:18pm - New Terrace Road

Officers were dispatched for a Motor Vehicle fire. The operator stated that he had just started the vehicle when all of a sudden he could smell burning wires. He and his family exited the vehicle when he saw flames coming out of the hood of his vehicle. All family members exited safely sustaining no injuries.

Loud Music/Party: 8/12 at 11:00pm - Strathmore Rd

Officers responded to a report of a loud party in the area. Officers heard loud talking and music coming from the area of the roof deck. All guests left the residence and the resident was issued a citation for Nuisance Control.

Single Vehicle Accident: 8/17 at 10:46pm – Lagrange St & Princeton Rd

Officers were dispatched to investigate a traffic crash. The vehicle was on its side after striking a town tree and pole. Driver was evaluated and taken to the hospital for further medical evaluation.

Shoplifting: 8/17 between 7:30pm & 8pm – Harvard St

Assistant store manager stated that a phone had been stolen from a store display. At this time there is no further information.

Shoplifting: 8/17 at 6:54pm – Boylston St

Officer was dispatched to investigate a report of a Shoplifting incident. Store owner stated that a female juvenile suspect stole a skateboard. 

Larceny: 8/16 at 8:00pm – Pleasant St

Victim states that he was in the process of moving items from his apartment to his new address when he returned to find items missing from his home.

Bike Larceny:

Officer was dispatched to Longwood Ave for a temporary tow zone violation. It was later revealed that the front wheel of the complainant’s bike was stolen. The bike was locked to the front railing of her building.

Assault: 8/17 at 12:05am – Beacon St

Units responded for a report of a past assault & battery.  Victim reported that he was the sidewalk outside his residence on Beacon Street when a subject approached him and removed an item from his pocket, possibly a knife. Subject is described as a black male, in his late-twenties or early-thirties, medium-dark complexion, 5'11", medium build, short/"natty" hair, and wearing jeans.

Polcie Reports 8/16-8/17

Warrant Arrest:  9:23 am on 8/16- Washington St

The owner of a vehicle that had been towed earlier was in the police station looking for the paperwork to release her vehicle.  During a license check it was found the owner had a warrant and she was placed under arrest. 

Break & Enter of a Motor Vehicle:  Between 8:30 pm (8/15) and 8:30 am (8/16) - Monmouth St

Victim reported to police that the car was parked in the driveway overnight and in the morning the reporting party noticed the front passenger’s window had been smashed. 

Police Reports 8/15

Graffiti:   8/15 at 12:37 pm- Village Way

Officers responded to the report of graffiti on the management door and a recycling bin on Village Way. 

Malicious Damage:  8/15 between 6:00 am and 2:15 pm - Brookline Ave/Parkway Rd

Victim reported to police that the rear windshield of his vehicle had been smashed in two spots.  The vehicle was parked at approximately 6:00 am and when he returned to the vehicle he noticed the damage. It did not appear as if anyone attempted to make entry into the vehicle.

Larceny:  between 6:30 pm (8/14) and 8:00 am (8/15) - Vernon Street

Victim reported to police that two bicycles were stolen out of a private parking garage.  The victim stated that the bikes were left unlocked in a parking space.  When he went to get them in the morning they were gone. 

Larceny/Shoplifting:  8/15 at 3:57 pm- Beacon Street

The AT&T store reported that two white males (approx 25-30 years old) had entered the store and removed a display phone.  One of the males acted as a distraction to the employees as the other stole the phone.

Warrant Arrest:  12:52 am 8/16 - Longwood Ave/ Sewall Ave

Officers stopped a vehicle for traveling without the proper use of headlights. During the traffic stop Officers found that the operator had a warrant out for his arrest.  The operator was placed under arrest for the warrant and cited for the traffic offenses.

Arrest:  8/16 at 2:37 am - Harvard St/ Naples Rd

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle with defective equipment.  The operator was placed under arrest for operating with a suspended license.    

Police Reports 8/14

Operating After Revocation: 8/14 at 1:51pm – Harvard St at Beacon St

A random vehicle registration check revealed that a vehicle held a revoked license status. The operator was placed under arrest and charged with Operating Motor Vehicle After Registration Revocation and Operating Motor Vehicle without Registration in Possession.

Warrant: 8/14 at 5:00pm - Harvard St. & Longwood Ave

Officer observed a vehicle making an illegal U-Turn from the intersection of Harvard St and Sewall Ave.  A registry check revealed that the operator of the vehicle had a straight warrant. Operator was placed under arrest for the warrant and issued a citation for a U-Turn violation.

Larceny: 8/14 at 9:00pm – Harvard St

Victim reported her phone stolen from her place of work.

Malicious Auto Damage: 8/10 at 7:00am – Winchester St

Victim reported that his vehicle, which was parked and secured in a public garage, had been keyed.

Burglary: 8/14 at 6:08pm - Walnut St

Units were dispatched to a residence for a Breaking and Entering report. Home owner noticed that dressers were rummaged through and several items were found missing.

Larceny: 8/14 sometime between 11:00am-5:30pm – Boylston St

Victim discovered his wallet missing from an office that was not used by anyone on the staff on this day.  He claimed that he left the wallet on top of a stack of folders on a counter top. The wallet contained cash and credit cards – credit card company reported no activity on the stolen credit cards.

Police Reports 8/11- 8/14

Found Property: 8/14 at 1:18am – Newton St and Goddard Circle

Officer was dispatched for suspicious activity. Caller stated that while traveling down Newton St. towards Larz Anderson Park, he observed a motorized scooter lying on the sidewalk with its headlight illuminated with no one around it. Officers noticed that the scooter had major scrapes to the body plastic on both sides as well as missing mirrors. The vehicle was not reported stolen. Officers were unable to make contact with the owner.

Bicycle Accident: 8/13 6:02pm – Beacon St

Officer responded to investigate a Traffic accident between a Car Operator and a Bicyclist.  Operator claimed that he was in the right lane attempting to pull in to a parking spot when he made contact with the cyclist. Bicyclist was evaluated and treated by ambulance and sent to the hospital for additional medical aid.

Operating After Suspension: 8/13 at 4:27pm - Risley Rd & Allandale Road

Officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. Officer entered the registration into the cruiser laptop and the query indicated the registration was revoked, and the registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended license. Driver was placed under arrest and charged with Operating After Suspension, Revoked Registration, and Traffic Offenses.

Shoplifting: 8/13 at 1:15pm - Havard St

A Loss Prevention detective from a store stated he observed a suspect take a belt off the shelf and duck his body down towards the floor and place the belt inside a bag he was carrying.  The suspect then got up and kept looking around the store in a suspicious manner and then made his way to the front door of the store to exit, where he was then stopped. A warrants check revealed that the suspect had an outstanding default warrant for trespassing. He was placed into custody for the outstanding default warrant as well as charged with Shoplifting.

Burglary: Occurred sometime after 8/11 at 10:00pm – Carlton St

Officer was dispatched to Carlton St for a report of a past breaking and entering. Victim stated that his basement office was broken into.  He noticed multiples items in the office were out of place and rummaged through. He states that no one else had been to the office until this morning, 8/14, when he noticed the damage.  

Counterfeiting: 8/12 at 12:00pm - Beacon St

Officer responded to a report of counterfeit money that had been passed in the store. Caller states that the person who passed the counterfeit note is a regular customer. The person is described as a white male, early 30's years old., 5'09", skinny to thin build, sometimes a scruffy beard, short black whiffle type hair cut,  wears a baseball cap backwards or bandana, jeans, and headphones. 

Police Reports 8/9-8/12

Larceny: 8/12 at 6:25pm - Pond Ave

Victim stated that she recently discovered that her necklace was missing. She last saw the necklace approximately two weeks ago. She informed officers that she gets her apartment cleaned once a month – last time being on 7/31.

Larceny: Occurred sometime between 11:00pm on 8/11 & 6:00pm on 8/12- Gardner Rd

Caller reported that two license plates were stolen form her landlord’s two vehicles. Caller was advised to contact the landlord, who is currently out of the country.

Larceny: 8/12 between 1:15pm and 1:45pm – Brookline Place

Victim stated that he accidentally left his laptop in the lab and when he went to retrieve it, the laptop went missing. The laptop was located near the rear entrance of the lab.

Operating After Revocation: 8/12 at 4:30pm – Beacon St

Officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. A query checked revealed that the operator’s right to operate a motor vehicle had been Revoked. Operator was placed under arrest and will be charged for Revoked License and Speeding

Malicious Damage: 8/12 at 12:13am – Browne St

Victim stated that someone had broken a window to the basement of their building. Victim’s mother stated that she was awoken when she heard the sound of breaking glass.  She went to look out the window and saw a male run down the driveway look out to Browne St. and then run towards Pleasant St.  He is described as a younger male, medium build, wearing white shirt or t-shirt, and light colored shorts. 

Motor Vehicle Theft: 8/10 sometime after 9:00pm – Babcock St

Victim reported her vehicle stolen. She stated that the vehicle was parked directly in front of a resident on Babcock Street.

Fraud: Occurred after 8/9 – Leverett St

Victim reported her wallet missing. Her bank informed her that three fraudulent charges were made in her account. She was advised and has already cancelled all her cards.

MV Accident: 8/12 at 4:00am – Coolidge St

Officer responded to a report of a vehicle with front end damage that was parked in front of Coolidge St. Officer observed a fresh set of skid marks from the tree leading to the back tires of the vehicle which was parked, locked and unoccupied. Driver stated that she had hit the curb causing damage.  She did not realize she had struck a tree and had tried to continue driving.  Due to the damage she had left the vehicle and locked it. Driver was issued a citation for Leaving The Scene Of A Property Damage Accident.

Assault: 8/12 at 2:10am - Washington Square to Williston Road via Corey Road

Victim stated that she was walking home when a male subject rapidly approached her, pushed her and knocked her to the ground. Subject did not to steal anything from her, nor did he continue the assault after she began screaming. She was unable to give any detailed description other than that she believed he was Hispanic.

Trespassing: 8/12 at 1:30am - Washington St/Davis Ave

Officer observed a male subject walking out from the enclosed parking lot area appearing disheveled. Subject walked back towards the parking lot through a stairwell that was secured and had a sign stating “No Trespassing". He will be charged for Trespassing.

Possession of Fireworks: 8/11 at 8:43pm – St Paul St and Brown St

Multiple units were dispatched for a report of a gun shot in the park. Caller state that she was passing the park in Winthrop Square when she saw a bright flash and heard a loud bang. She then saw a white male subject in his teens run down Still St. in the direction of Freeman St. Subject was recognized officers by for previously experimenting with a chemistry set. He was the same subject setting off homemade firecrackers in the park. He will be charged for violating the Massachusetts Fireworks Law.

Warrant: 8/11 at 3:50pm - Harvard St

Officer observed a female subject remove a plastic shopping bag that appeared to be heavy and full of items from a backpack that she had.  She then engaged in conversation with a male subject and handed him the plastic shopping bag that was full of contents. The female subject walked into another store with the backpack that now appeared to be empty.  At this time, the officer entered the store from the rear and saw that the subjects had boarded the bus. Additional units were requested to conduct a stop of the bus and requested the above described subjects to exit. The bags contained several items that were stolen from the area stores and also contained a small folding knife along with a Charlie Card under the name of someone else. The female subject was found to have a Default Warrant against her. Both subjects were placed under arrest. Male subject will be charged with 2 counts of Shoplifting (Joint Venture). Female subject will be charged with the Default Warrant, 2 counts of Shoplifting, Carrying Dangerous Weapon, and Receiving Stolen Property.

Credit Card Fraud: 8/11 at 12:30pm – Dwight St

Victim relayed information to officer regarding seven fraudulent withdrawals made from her bank account. Victim stated that she has never used her debit card for online transactions, and it's unknown how anyone would have accessed her account information.  Her account has since been credited for the fraudulent purchases by her bank. She had previously reported being the victim of fraudulent charges in December 2011. She was advised to place a fraud alert with the credit reporting bureaus.

Malicious Damage: 8/11 between 2:00am and 8:00am – Winthrop Rd

Resident reports that someone threw a large rock through his front middle window.  He has no idea who could have done it.

OUIL: 8/11 at 2:05am – Harvard St

Officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and came to an abrupt and sudden stop over the "stop line" at the same intersection. The light turned green the vehicle then rapidly accelerated and abruptly cut over and into the right lane. After officer pulled the operator over, he immediately detected strong odor of intoxicating liquor emanating from the vehicle and the operator’s eyes were bloodshot and glassy. Operator was placed under arrest and charged with the following: Failure to Stop at Red Light, Marked Lanes Violation, OUI-Liquor, License Not in Possession, and Open Container of Alcohol.

Bat in House: 8/10 at 1:01am – Garrison Rd

Resident stated that he was awoken by a bat that was flying around his bedroom. He then left his bedroom trapping the bat inside. Resident was advised of possible exposure. He was advised to contact Critter Control to try and capture the bat and have his doctor conduct a follow up.

Operating After Suspension: 8/10 at 11:50am – Washington Street & Brookline Ave

Officer observed a vehicle displaying an expired inspection sticker. Check of the vehicle’s registration revealed registered owner had a suspended right to operate. Operator was placed under arrest and will be issued for Operating after sustention and Failure to submit vehicle for inspection.

Straight Warrant: 8/9 at 5:35pm – High St

Officer observed a vehicle parked and unoccupied in the parking lot. A query of the registration revealed that the registered owner had an active straight warrant. Registered owner was of the warrant and placed under arrest without incident.

Larceny: Occurred 8/8 after 4:30pm – Auburn St

Victim states that she returned home from dropping her daughter at daycare that morning she noticed that her bike was gone. Bike was stored in the garage. The garage has no garage door. The bike had a Kryptonite lock on the front tire, locking the tire to the frame. The bike was not locked to the garage at all and would have had to be carried away.

Employee of the Kirrane Aquatics Center reported that someone had broken into his secured locker and removed several credit cards from his wallet. Fraudulent charges were immediately made to the victim’s account at Apple Retail Store locations in Cambridgeside Mall & Boston. See above for surveillance photos. Warrant: 8/9 at 1:30am - St. Marys St. and Commonwealth Ave

A random query of a vehicle’s registration revealed that the registered owner of the vehicle had a warrant. Driver was placed under arrest, vehicle was towed.

Not Duly Licensed: 8/9 at 1:45am – Cypress St

Officer observed a vehicle displaying a rejected state-issued inspection sticker. A query of the vehicle’s registration revealed that the registered owner had an "H" license restriction. Dispatch confirmed that the driver was unlicensed to operate at this hour. Driver was placed under arrest and issued a citation for being not duly licensed.

Breaking & Entering: 8/8 at 12:15am – Beacon St

Officer was dispatched for a report of malicious damage. The victim stated that he parked his vehicle on the reservation, next to the MBTA trolley tracks.  When he returned, he noticed a large cut to the soft top, on the driver side. Officers believe that the suspect was attempting to unlock the driver side door.

MV Accident: 8/8 at 6:08pm – Grove St

Driver was about to enter Ryan circle when she was hit from behind by another vehicle. There was no reported injury. Driver’s mother arrived and drove the car away from the accident scene. Operator of the other vehicle was issued a citation for Following Too Closely.

Malicious Damage: 8/6 at 11:10pm - Washington St

Officer responded to a report of a past Malicious Damage report. Owner of the store stated that on Monday the glass on his front door had been smashed. Surveillance video captured  two girls kicking the door. One of the girl tried to open the door and when she was unable to gain entry, she kicked the door. A witness who observed the incident was able to recognize and identify the two female suspects. Officer reported to the suspects’ place of resident, but was unable to find them. Officer will conduct a follow up with the walk and talk to try and locate the suspects.

Larceny: Occurred 8/8 between 11:30am and 2:00pm – Walnut Pl

Victim left her bike parked in far rear of Walnut Place. It was found missing at 2:00pm.

Pedestrian Accident: 8/8 at 11:16am - Harvard St

Operator of a vehicle was backing up from a marked parking space in the parking lot when the operator struck a pedestrian, causing minor injuries. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital. A registration check revealed that the operator’s license was expired. The operator was cited for Not Being Duly Licensed and Failing to Use care While Backing.

Arrests Made from Knyvet Park Robbery

On Sunday, August 5, 2012 at approximately 11:05pm, the Brookline Police Department responded to the area of 175 Freeman St on a report of a Robbery.  The victims reported they were assaulted and robbed in Knyvet Park (directly in front of 175 Freeman St).  One victim was punched and knocked to the ground.  One suspect then went through the victim’s pockets, taking the victim’s wallet and BlackBerry Cell Phone.  The 3 suspects then ran from the Park.

On 8-12-12, one of the victims contacted the Brookline Police to report he had just seen one of the subjects that was involved in the Robbery.  The victim said he had seen the subject in the area of 338 St Paul St.

After an extensive investigation, police officers were able identify two suspects. Two subjects were place under arrest for Unarmed Robbery.  One suspect is a juvenile from Hyde Park and the other is a 17 year old form Baltimore, Maryland. An arrest warrant was issued for a third subject involved in the Robbery. The 3^rd suspect is an adult from Brookline.

Straight Warrant: 8/8 at 12:31am - Harvard St/Beacon St

Officer noticed a vehicle with a defective passenger side headlight. Dispatch confirmed that the vehicle was active and that the driver had an active license, but he had a Straight Warrant issued. Driver was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Sector 2

Larceny: Occurred sometime between 7/27 & 8/2 – Stearns Rd

Victim stated that her bike was left unsecured in her foyer. She stated that stated that although the front door to the building is usually locked, the door is often propped open or left opened by a resident.

Sector 4

Larceny: Occurred 8/5 between 9:00am & 9:00pm - High St

Resident reported two bikes were found missing from their backyard. On 8/6 at approximately 7:00am, the resident’s husband went out for a jog when he found one of the bikes abandoned on Chestnut St.  He was unsuccessful at locating the second bicycle.

Not Duly Licensed: 8/7 at 7:43am – Washington St

Officer noticed a vehicle that did not have a valid inspection sticker. A registration query revealed that the driver did not have a valid driver’s license. Driver was placed under arrest charged for Unlicensed Operation of Motor Vehicle and Failure to Submit Vehicle for Inspection.

Malicious Damage: Occurred between 8/6 at 6:30pm & 8/7 at 7:00am – Beacon St

Victim reported that someone ripped off the door to one of her dryers at her Laundromat. Report was taken and detectives will conduct a follow up investigation.   

Sector 9

Larceny: 8/7 at 9:09am – Puddingston Rd

A construction company supervisor reported that one of his crew had one of their blowers stolen. The crew was using the blowing machine and had left if on the street lawn area at the corner of the West Roxbury Parkway and Puddingstone Rds to go and get one of the company trucks to pick up the blower.  When the crew returned with the truck, the blowing machine was not there. The supervisor stated that this piece of equipment is heavy and would require two individuals to lift it.

Police Reports 8/4-8/7

Sector 1

Burglary: Occurred 8/2 sometime after 5:30pm

A landlord and a resident of their building reported finding the rear window to the 1st floor unit wide open the screen removed to the ground and the air conditioner was pushed halfway into the apartment. Officers determined that there were no signs of forced entry into the front door and that entry was gained through the rear window and exit was via the front door. Detectives processed the scene for further investigation.

Operating After Suspension: 8/6 at 5:45pm – Harvard St

Officer observed a vehicle displaying a rejected blue inspection sticker stopped at an intersection. A query check revealed that the operator’s right to operate was suspended. Operator was charged with Operating after Suspension and Failure to submit for Inspection.

Sector 3

Night Burglary: 8/7 at 3:30am – Centre St

Caller reported that a male suspect was spotted standing in the corner of her bathroom with his hands by his side and his head down. The man turned and walked out the apartment without speaking. Officers were later dispatched towards River Way to an individual matching that description. Suspect was later identified by the caller as the same male suspect that was in her bathroom. Officers recovered a small amount of marijuana in his possession. Suspect was placed under arrest and charged for B& E Night Time with Intent to Commit Felony and possession for less than once ounce of Marijuana.

Not Duly Licensed: 8/6 at 6:40pm - Harvard St. and Green St

Officer observed a vehicle attempt to pass through the intersection of Harvard St. and Green St while a pedestrian was in the middle of the crosswalk. A query check of the registration revealed that the operator’s license was expired and non-renewable. Operator was placed under arrest and charged for Operating without a License and Failing to Stop for a Pedestrian in a Crosswalk.

Larceny: 8/5 sometime after 1:00pm –Harvard St

Victim reported that her wallet was taken from her backpack. Fraudulent charges were made on her account at a 7-ll on Beacon St. She noticed a white male in his early twenties, sitting at the next table.

Day Burglary: 8/4 between 9:45am & 10:45am

Victim reported that his locker was broken into and items including cash, a credit card, and debit card were removed from his wallet. There were charges made on the victim’s account shortly after.

Sector 8

Day Burglary: 8/6 at 9:00pm – Heath St

A general contractor requested to meet an officer at Heath Street to report the B & E of a house that he was constructing and the subsequent larceny of an electric generator. The chain link fence was found cut open, all the exterior doors to the nearly completed house were wide open, and a recently purchased generator that belongs to the electrical contractor was missing. There is no additional information at this time.

Sector 1

Robbery: 8/5 at 11:05am – Knyvet Park

Units were dispatched to a report of a robbery that occurred. Victims stated that they were walking through Knyvet Park when they were approached by a white male suspect and two black male suspects. Suspects took the victims’ wallet, driver’s license, school ID, credit card, and a cellphone. Suspects descriptions include: White male, 5'6, early twenties, thin build, black shirt and blue jeans ; black male; 5'8-5'10, dark skin, no facial hair, short hair, medium build wearing a brown t-shirt and dark shorts to his knees, early twenties ; 2^nd black male, 6'-6'2, dark skin, white t-shirt, dark shorts, unshaven beard, short hair early twenties and had a large fake diamond earring on his right ear. One of the victims did sustained minor cuts on his face but neither required any medical attention.  There is no additional information at this time.

Larceny: 8/5 at 3:38pm - Harvard St (TJ Maxx)

Officer responded to a report for a shoplifter being detained by store security. Security claims that he has seen suspect in the store multiple times in the past and suspected her of shoplifting, but has been unable to catch her in the act until today. Suspect was issued a No-Trespass order for the store and will be charged for Shoplifting.

Assault: 8/3 at 2:18pm - Harvard St (near Starbucks)

Victim stated that she was walking and listening to music on her headphones, when she was suddenly punched without provocation in the left eye by a female suspect. Suspect did not say anything to the victim, and fled on Harvard Street northbound toward Green Street. Suspect is described as a black female, mid 20's to mid 30's, 5'5" tall, heavy set, round face, and straight black hair in a bun. 

Assault: 8/3 at 8:10pm - Harvard St and Beals St

Officer responded to a report of a past assault and battery.  Victim stated that he was attempting to cross Harvard Street in a marked pedestrian crosswalk when a vehicle almost struck him. Victim stated that he had to put his hands out on the front of the vehicle, as he had anticipated being struck. This apparently angered the operator, who then exited the vehicle and used both hands to shove the victim in his chest. Operator then returned to the vehicle, and continued north on Harvard Street.  Victim captured a picture of the vehicle’s license plate. The operator of the vehicle refused to speak with the investigating officer.

Larceny: Occurred 8/1between 11:41am &10:00pm – Harvard St

Victim claims that her package was stolen from the front hall way or at the rear apartment door.  Officer advised the victim on ways to better secure her house and property.

Larceny: Occurred on 8/3 between 12:30pm & 2:00pm – Linden Place

Victim stated that his bicycle was stolen out of his garage. He stated that during that time he left his garage door open. The contents of the garage were visible from outside the garage and in the driveway. Victim stated that this has never happened to him before, but he also has never left his garage door open before either. A neighbor reported that she saw a white male wearing gym clothes, approximately 6 feet tall riding down Linden Place on a bicycle at around the same time, she was not sure if it was the bike in question and she did not recognize the unidentified male.

Malicious Auto Damage: Occurred 8/4 between 1:56pm & 1:59pm - Harvard St

Officer was dispatched to a store parking lot for a report of a malicious damage. Victim stated that that somebody had used a key to damage his vehicle. He stated that he stepped away from his vehicle for approximately 2 minutes when he went back into the store. During that time, security footage captured a suspect stepping out of his vehicle and walking from the front to the rear with an object in his hand. The footage was also able to capture an image of the suspect’s license plate number. Suspect was later contacted and questioned by officers. Suspect stated that he had a negative interaction with the victim and that he was upset and decided to "key his car" to get back at him. Suspect will be charged for Malicious Destruction of Property.

Sector 4

MV Accident: 8/5 at 2:40pm - Cypress St at Waverly

Victim stated that she stopped for traffic in front of her when she was struck from behind by another vehicle. The operator of the other vehicle stated that she was emotionally distracted due to recent argument with her boyfriend. She reacted too slowly and struck the rear end of victim’s vehicle. Victim suffered a nose bleed. No citations were issued.

Operating After Suspension: 8/4 at 11:00pm - Pierce St and Holden St

Officer noticed that a vehicle’s taillight were not working, causing a safety hazard to other motorists. A query check revealed that the operator had a suspended motor vehicle license status. Operator was placed under arrest and charged for Operating after Suspension and Defective Equipment (taillights).

Bicycle Larceny: Occurred on 8/3 between 3:30pm &5:30pm – Tappan St

Caller stated that his son's bicycle was stolen from in front of his residence. Bike was left unlocked on the steps.

Larceny: Occurred 8/3 between 12:45pm & 2:00pm – Tappan St

Victim reported cash taken from his wallet. Wallet was kept unlocked in the employees’ locker room locker. He believes it may be an employee, because the public is not allowed in that locker room, although the door to that locker room is propped open and unlocked.

Not Duly Licensed: 8/4 at 12:58am - Boylston St / Lee St

Officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. A query check revealed that the operator had no  license to operate a motor vehicle. At this point he was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle while not being duly licensed. 

Sector 9

Operating After Suspension: 8/5 at 5:54pm - LaGrange St

Officer was monitoring the stop sign on LaGrange St when he observed a vehicle travel right through the stop sign without slowing down. A vehicle registration check revealed that the operator’s license had been suspended. Operator was placed under arrest and issued a citation for Operating After Suspension and the Stop Sign violation. At the station, Officers also uncovered non-prescribed Oxycodone pills. Operator will also be charged for Possession of a Class B Substance.

Traffic Offense: 8/3 at 3:05am – Auburn St
Officer requested a vehicle to be towed due to outstanding parking citations. Vehicle was towed and the license plates were seized.

Loud Music/Party: 8/3 at 12:15am – Freeman St
Officers were dispatched to Freeman Street for a report of a loud party. There was music and loud music coming from the apartment. Resident was issued a citation for violation of the Loud Party By-Law. Guests were asked to leave and the music was turned off.

Larceny: Occurred 8/2 between 7:00pm & 9:00pm at Longwood Ave
Victim claimed that a package, containing a newly ordered computer, was taken from the front foyer of her apartment building. The light in the foyer was not working at the time of this report.

Operating After Revocation: 8/2 at 7:32pm - Beacon St at Englewood Ave
Officer was monitoring traffic on Beacon Street while parked on Clinton Path when he saw a driver of a vehicle with a phone in his hand. A query of the driver’s registration revealed that his license was revoked. Driver was placed under arrest and was issued a citation for Operating After Revocation and Texting while operating a vehicle. License was seized and the vehicle was towed.

General Information: 8/2 at 4:04pm- Beacon Street and Winchester
Officer was dispatched for a report of a subject who was found passed out sleeping on a sofa in the public alley with a box with bottles of unopened hard liquor. Subject was treated by paramedics and consulted by a nurse who helps with victims of alcohol abuse.

Larceny: 8/2 at 3:19pm – Harvard St
A sales clerk reported a larceny from the jewelry case of a gold chain with a gold pendant attached. He left the suspect unattended upstairs and when he returned the customer was gone. Suspect is described as a black male, mid to late 20's, 6 feet tall, thin build, with a small gap between his front teeth. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, gray jeans, basketball shoes, silver band watch with a blue face, and a diamond stud in his left ear. Officers will conduct a follow-up investigation.

ID Fraud: Occurred 7/29
Victim received a call from her bank informing her that an unknown suspect had attempted to obtain credit cards on her name from two of their locations.  The suspect used her name, DOB and SS#, but used incorrect addresses.

Malicious Damage: 8/2 at 10:51am - Harvard St
Witness observed a suspect get out of her car and key the passenger side of a different vehicle. The vehicle belonged to the suspect’s employer. At approximately 10:30am, earlier that morning, the victim terminated the subject as an employee. Officer will request a warrant be issued, charging the subject with Malicious Damage of a motor vehicle.

Larceny: 8/1 at 11:31pm - Station St Lot
Witness reported that he just observed a suspect stealing a bicycle from a rack. He stated that he observed the suspect use a torch type instrument to defeat the lock that secured the bicycle to the rack. Suspect is described as a white male, older in age, balding, about 220 lbs wearing a blue polo shirt with white stripes, dark white khaki shorts, and white sneakers and was observed carrying a red duffel bag containing the torch like instrument. Several units responded to the area and searched for the suspect but were unable to locate him.

Attempted Larceny: Occurred 7/29 on Cypress St
Victim reported his bicycle missing. He kept it unlocked and unsecured in the garage area by his parking space.

Warrant: 8/1 at 6:28pm – Cutler Lane
Officer responded to a report of two unregistered solicitors who were going door to door in the neighborhood. Upon arrival, officer found the two subjects and did not see any identification being displayed by them as required by our town by law. Officer ran a records check, and it revealed that there was a traffic warrant issued for one of the subjects. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to the station.

Warrant: 8/1 at 5:49pm – Tappan ST
Officer assisted in executing an arrest warrant for a subject who had an outstanding Default warrant for Possession of Firearm without FID card. Subject was located and placed under arrest.

Fraud use of Credit Card: 8/1 at 1:36pm – Walnut St
Victim stated that she received a phone call informing her of a purchase made on her credit card, with the item shipped to a different address. Both the order and credit card was cancelled. Detectives will conduct a follow up investigation.

Sector 3 & 5

Robbery: 8/2 at 12:05am - Washington St towards Corey Rd

Officer responded to a report of a robbery that occurred in the area of Washington St. and Corey Rd. Female victim stated that as she was walking home from the train stop at Washington St, two Hispanic males approached her from the front and grabbed her cell phone out of her left hand. She said that she was listening to music and had the phone up in front of her as she was walking and she did not see the two suspects until they were right in front of her. One subject grabbed the phone and took off running down the sidewalk towards Beacon Street. Both subjects then got into a black vehicle that was parked and fled in the direction of Washington St/Downing Rd. Victim described the first suspect as a Hispanic male in his early to mid 20s wearing a black shirt, a black flat brimmed hat, short black hair, clean shaven with no facial hair. The second suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his early to mid 20s wearing a black hat. At approximately 12:55am, a Boston Police Officer observed a vehicle, with no front plate, traveling into Brookline from Brighton matching both the description of the vehicle used in the robbery as well as the description of the suspects. This information was pass on on to Brookline Officers. With this information, a Brookline Police Officer spotted the vehicle and proceeded to followed the vehicle. The officer ran the plate and it came back to match a different vehicle. The officer pulled over the black vehicle and found a screwdriver and a cell phone that matched the description of those stolen from the female victim. Female victim recognized the two subjects in the vehicle as the suspects who stole her cell phone. Based on the description by the victim and the Show-Up ID, both suspects were placed under arrest and transported to the Brookline Police station separately. Both subjects will be charged with Unarmed Robbery.

Attempted Larceny: 8/1 at 3:06am – St Paul St at Beacon St
Officer was approached by a witness who stated that a male subject- dark skinned male, approximately six feet tall, thin build, with short hair wearing a white colored shirt- appeared to have been attempting to break into a parked vehicle. Subject did not make entry into the car. The owner of the vehicle was notified and she confirmed that there were no missing items from her vehicle. There is no further information at this time.

Operating after Suspension: 8/1 at 2:10am – Harvard St at Beacon St
Officer pulled over a vehicle that made an illegal turn. The vehicle registration revealed that the operator’s license was suspended and the registration was revoked. Operator was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension


Accident: 7/31 at 9:04pm – Hammond St at Boylston St
Officer responded to a report of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle. Pedestrian was transported to the hospital for treatment of possible head, back, and neck injuries. Operator of the vehicle was issued a citation for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Officer pulled over a vehicle that passed through a red light. A query of the registration revealed that a default warrant was issued. Operator was placed under arrest for the warrant and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Not Being Duly Licensed.

Motor Vehicle Accident: 7/31 at 5:19pm – Beacon St and Englewood Ave
Officer was dispatched for a traffic crash. Operator of one of the vehicle was issued a citation for a Red light Violation. Both of the drivers stated they had no personal injuries from the accident and refused any medical aid.

Graffiti Law: 7/31 at 8:30am – Washington St
A member of the building department reported a graffiti tag that was written on the wall outside the town hall. Photos were taken and follow ups will be conducted.

Police Reports 7/30

Larceny: 7/30 between 5:30pm & 5:45pm – Beacon St
Victim reported that he had cash removed from his wallet. While he was on the run with a friend, victim left his shorts hidden behind a bush in the indoor atrium. He later discovered cash he had recently withdrawn from an ATM was missing. Officer will attempt a follow up.

Accident: 7/30 at 5:20pm – Aspinwall Ave
The operator of a vehicle veered off the road and struck another vehicle parked on the road. Two parties in the car were transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

Larceny: 7/30 between 9:00am & 5:00pm– Hurd Rd 
Victim stated that she found her scooter missing from where it was parked and locked in a parking lot. The scooter, along with a white helmet, a chain and a lock were all missing. A stolen vehicle report was filled out and entered by dispatch.

Recovered Scooter: 7/30 at 5:37pm - Talbot Ave
Missing scooter stolen from Hurd Rd was recovered from Dorchester.

Fraud: 7/30 at 4:45pm – Columbus St
Victim came into the station to report fraudulent activity. Victim stated that he purchased concert tickets from an individual online but never received any tickets. He attempted to contact the individual but was unsuccessful. Upon further investigation, officer was able to retrieve contact information of the unknown individual.

Accident: 7/30 at 2:55pm - Harvard St
Officer responded to a scene of a motor vehicle accident. Victim stated that her vehicle was hit in the rear by another motor vehicle. The operator of the other vehicle was issued a citation for following too closely. A passenger who was secure in a child seat in the back seat was transported to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.

Assault: 7/30 at 11:45 am – St. Paul St and Egmont St
Several units were dispatched for a dispute between a female victim and a male subject. Female victim suspects that a male subject, who had twice previously spit on her, flicked a lit filtered cigar at the back of her head. Female victim claimed that the attack was completely unprovoked. Male subject was placed under arrest for Assault and Battery Dangerous Weapon.

Accident: 7/30 at 9:25am – Newton St
While traveling west on Newton St, a wheel located on the rear axle of a street sweeper broke loose and struck two parked vehicles. One of the vehicle sustained minor damage to the front left quarter panel.

Identity Fraud: 7/12 at 12:16pm & 10:51pm - Columbus, Ohio
Victim reported that there were two separate accounts of fraud use on her debit card. No further fraudulent activity was identified on the card. Her debit card was cancelled and the bank was notified of the fraudulent activity.

Police Reports 7/26-7/30

Fraud: Occurred 7/26 at 6:28pm & 6:29pm – Houston, Texas
Victim reported two fraudulent charges made on her account. She claims that she did not give her card to anyone else to make the purchase and currently has possession of the card. No other unauthorized charged have been made on the account. Officer advised the victim to contact the credit bureaus. Account has since been closed.

Burglary: 7/27 at 11:05am – Boylston St
Officer was approached by the property manager of a building claiming that someone had kicked in a window that had been boarded up in the front of the building. The building has been vacant for quite some time. Building has been secured.

Accident: 7/27 at 10:07am – Parkman St at Pleasant St
Operator of a vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign causing it to strike two other vehicles. Operator of the vehicle was cited for failure to stop at the stop sign and failure to yield the right of way at the intersection.

Breaking & Entering & Larceny: 7/27 at 4:30pm – Brookline Ave
Officers were given a description for a male suspect who attempted a B&E of a motor vehicle. Witness stated that they observed a male suspect (white male,  6'00" tall, wearing a black baseball cap with white letters on it, a white t-shirt and blue jeans) walk into the parking lot and  attempt to open multiple vehicles’ front passenger door. The witness approached the male suspect and then proceeded to call 911. Officers observed a subject fitting the description of the suspect. Suspect was sweating heavily, was breathing heavily, and was short of breath when speaking. Witness identified the person as the same male suspect. Suspect was under arrest and was charged Attempted B/E of a motor vehicle.

Larceny: Occurred 7/27 between 1:40pm & 3pm –Goddard Ave
Victim stated that her new phone was stolen from her pocketbook during work. The pocketbook was placed in a conference room where numerous other campers store their bags and personal items when they go outside.

Larceny: Occurred 7/27 between 6:30pm & 9:45pm – Mason Terrace
Caller stated that two bicycles were stolen from his opened garage door. Caller’s sons did not hear anything while at home and the area is dimly lit.

Larceny: Occurred 7/26 at 1:09pm – Beacon St
Victim stated that she ordered a laptop last Thursday, 7/26 and believes it was taken from her apartment building. She was told that the laptop was delivered and left at the residence. Victim stated that she checked the mailroom and also with a neighbor in an attempt to locate the package, however, she was unsuccessful. Case is under two separate investigations.

Fire in Building: 7/28 at 3:52pm – High St
Caller reported that there was smoke coming from the area of the front porch of his apartment. Brookline Police, along with the Brookline Fire Department, discovered that there was a cigarette that was not properly disposed of and was smoldering and starting to catch fire. Fire was put out and declared safe. Residents of the building were allowed to return to the building.

Armed Criminal Act: 7/28 at 6:18pm – Hurd Rd
Victim reported that she was woken up by a male suspect who had entered her apartment, held her down, strangled her, and then fled from the apartment. She also reported the suspect to be holding a black colored frying pan above her head during the assault, but at no time struck her with it.  Victim had slight swelling to the top left side of her lip and had a small scratch/redness on her back.  Upon inspecting the scene, officers found no signs of forced entry but did find a screwdriver that might have been left by the suspect. Male suspect is described as being a light skinned black or Middle Eastern male (not Hispanic) with a heavy accent, 25-35 years old, no facial hair, wearing a black bandana or doo rag on his head, and possibly wearing a long sleeve shirt/maybe white in color. Victim stated that she believes that the male suspect lives in the area.

Operating to Endanger: 7/30 at 1:51am –Channing Rd
Officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Boylston St approaching Fisher Av. Registration check revealed that the operator had an expired Learners Permit. Operator was placed into custody for Failure to stop for a Police Officer, Operating to Endanger, Racing to break a record and speeding.
