Monday, July 28

MOPED THEFT

An individual reported a stolen moped from a private way near High Street. 

LARCENY

An individual on Beacon St. reported to officers that their Disabled Identification Placard was stolen. 

SHOPLIFTING

Officers responded to a report of a past shoplifting on Commonwealth Ave. The suspect will be summoned to court. 

MAILBOX THEFT

Officers received report of a mailbox that was broken into on Harvard St. A check was stolen from the mailbox, but was cancelled shortly after. 

SHOPLIFTING

Two individuals conspired together to shoplift on Harvard St. 

SCOOTER THEFT

An electric scooter was stolen from a bike rack on Washington St. The cable lock that secured the bike to the rack was found on the ground. 

SHOPLIFTING

Officers received a report of shoplifting on Commonwealth Ave. The suspect was identified and summoned to the Brookline District Court. 

MALICIOUS DAMAGE 

The front windows of a business on Cypress Street were vandalized, with etchings carved into the glass. 

Tuesday, July 29

BURGLARY

Officers received a report of a burglary on West Roxbury. 

LARCENY

An individual reported that a piece of landscaping equipment was stolen from the front lawn they were working on. 

LARCENY

Officers responded to a case of credit card fraud. Three individuals had their physical credit cards stolen by the same suspect and received notification of fraudulent charges on their accounts. The suspect was identified and a warrant was filed. 

ASSAULT

Two couples engaged in a verbal argument that escalated on Harvard St. Two of the individuals were summoned to the Brookline District Court for assault and battery.

Wednesday, July 30

FOUND PROPERTY

Officers received report of found property on Lanark Rd. A backpack with painting tools/accessories was brought back to the Brookline Police Department for safekeeping. 

FRAUD

An individual reported receiving text messages from a phone number they believed belonged to someone they knew. The messages requested that the individual purchase gift cards and send photos of them. After complying, the individual was prompted to purchase additional gift cards. Realizing they were being scammed, the reporting party contacted the Brookline Police Department and their credit card company.

BIKE THEFT

Officers received report of a stolen children's bike on Sewall Avenue. 

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

A case of suspicious activity was reported on Tappan St. The suspicious individual was witnessed looking into the windows of a residence before fleeing the area. 

Thursday, July 31

SHOPLIFTING

Officers responded to a shoplifting on Commonwealth Ave.

Friday, August 1

FOUND PROPERTY

An individual dropped off an iPhone they found on Boylston Street to the front desk of the Brookline Police Department. 

CREDIT CARD FRAUD

The reporting party received a notification claiming there was an issue with their account, instructing them to share their login information to resolve the problem. After complying, the reporting party observed unauthorized charges and transfers from their account. They have since taken measures to remove any bugs from their accounts or devices and notified police. 

LOST PROPERTY

Officers received a report of lost property involving a pair of prescription glasses. The loss occurred at Village Way. 

Saturday, August 2

LOST PROPERTY

An individual approached the front desk of the Brookline Police Department to report a lost moped license plate from New York. 

LARCENY

Officers responded to a larceny on Commonwealth Ave. The reporting party stated that they placed their backpack on a chair, left for a short time, and found that it was missing when they returned. 

Sunday, August 3

LARCENY

Officers received a report of larceny from a basement located on Euston Street. The reporting party stated that two bicycles and a flower pot were stolen.
