IDENTITY FRAUD

Officers responded to a call of identity fraud in which an individual was contacted via phone posing as foreign authorities and requesting identification leading to the scammer to gain sensitive personal information.

Officers were approached about another report of identity fraud in which an individual received a false email about taking out a student loan. 

IDENTITY FRAUD

Officers responded to a report of identity fraud, where a separate credit account was opened under an individual's name which they did not authorize. 

FOUND PROPERTY

Officers received lost property found in the lobby of the Brookline Police Department, which included a piece of jewelry. 

Tuesday, January 13

FIRE

Officers responded to a call reporting an already extinguished fire on Saint Paul Street, which was the result of an accidental strike of a wire during a construction project and was remedied. 

PACKAGE THEFT

Officers received a report at the Brookline Police Department's front desk regarding a package theft that occurred over the weekend at Chestnut Place. 

PACKAGE THEFT

Officers responded to a report of a package theft that occurred in a lobby on High Street.

PACKAGE THEFT

Officers responded to another report of package theft on Pleasant Street, where the package was taken from the mailroom. 

PACKAGE THEFT

Officers at the front desk of the Brookline Police Department received a report of a package theft on Auburn Street, where the package was torn open and the item missing.

Wednesday, January 14

FIRE

Officers responded to a call regarding smoke emanating from a restaurant on Beacon Street, reported by a neighboring restaurant. In junction with other responders, the fire was found in the basement of the building and quickly extinguished. 

GRAFFITI

Officers responded to a call about graffiti seen on the side of building on Harvard Street. 

SHOPLIFTING

Officers responded to a call reporting past shoplifting on Harvard Street. 

SHOPLIFTING

Officers took a report on Harvard Street about another report of shoplifting. 

SHOPLIFTING

Officers were conducting proactive policing around the area of Harvard Street when they observed two suspects shoplifting. One suspect was arrested.

Officers responded to a active shoplifting call on Harvard Street. Both suspects have been arrested.

GRAFFITI

Officers observed graffiti on the Webster Place facing side of a located on Harvard Street.

Officers on patrol observed more graffiti sprayed on a utility trailer located on the intersection of Harvard Street and Linden Street.

Saturday, January 17

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

Officers responded to a call regarding a motor vehicle theft on Boylston Street. 

SHOPLIFTING

Officers responded to an immediate call of shoplifting on Saturday afternoon on Beacon Street. 

Sunday, January 18

SHOPLIFTING

Officers responded to a call located on Beacon Street, where a suspect stole and drank merchandise. 

FRAUD

Officers took a call regarding an individual who identified a fraudulent site that claimed to be a online way to renew a passport, called 'passportsubmission.us'.
