Monday, September 15

CREDIT CARD FRAUD

An individual on Park Street reported suspected debit card fraud. The victim noticed unauthorized transactions and closed their account. 

FRAUD

Officers took a walk-in report regarding a suspected compromised email. The reporting party unknowingly sent funds to a scammer posing as a contractor. A second unauthorized wire transfer was later flagged by the victim’s bank.

BIKE THEFT

A bicycle was stolen from a residence on Jenness Rd. The bike was not locked when it was stolen.

Tuesday, September 16

PACKAGE THEFT

A resident of Beacon Street reported a package theft.

Wednesday, September 17

ABANDONED PROPERTY

An individual was observed knowingly abandoning a wheelchair on the sidewalk of Beacon Street.

LARCENY

An individual was stopped on Pearl Street after being observed in possession of construction equipment believed to have been taken without authorization. The individual was taken into custody and is facing multiple charges.

CREDIT CARD FRAUD

Officers received a walk-in report of a lost wallet and attempted credit card fraud. The individual believes they lost their wallet. Days later, an unauthorized charge was attempted and declined. 

Thursday, September 18

CAR BREAK

A report was filed at the Brookline Police Station regarding a past motor vehicle car break at a parking garage located on Brookline Place. The reporting party shared that reported that cash and several items were stolen from their vehicle, which had signs of being rummaged through. 

ATTEMPTED BURLGARY

A resident on Irving Street reported seeing security footage of a suspicious individual attempting to enter their garage. The suspicious individual fled after an unsuccessful entry.

CHECK FRAUD

Officers received report that a check mailed from Winchester Street was fraudulently altered and cashed by an unknown party. 

BIKE THEFT

An individual reported that their locked bike was stolen from a bike rack on Beacon St. 

SHOPLIFTING

Officers responded to a report of active shoplifting on Commonwealth Avenue and located a suspect  in possession of stolen merchandise. The individual admitted to the theft, was placed under arrest for shoplifting, and is facing additional charges.

Friday, September 19

ANIMAL BITE

An individual reported being bitten by an unleashed dog while walking their own leashed dog in Griggs Park. During hours when dogs are required to be leashed. The owner of the unleashed dog confirmed the incident and was issued citations for the leash law violations and the bite. 

PACKAGE THEFT

A package was stolen from the lobby of a building on Park St. 

Saturday, September 20

LARCENY

Officers responded to a report of a past theft at a property on Woodland Road. The reporting party stated that copper gutters and piping were discovered missing from the property. 

Sunday, September 21

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Officers received a report of disorderly behavior at a park on Edwin Street. A witness shared video showing the suspect acting inappropriately in a public area. The person was identified and later summoned to the Brookline District Court for disorderly conduct.

FOUND PROPERTY

A resident on Winchester Street reported several unfamiliar items left on their driveway, including a black backpack containing a laptop, headphones, clothing, and schoolwork. A name was found inside the bag, and police are working to contact the rightful owner.

CAR BREAK

A resident reported their vehicle was broken into overnight while parked in an alleyway behind Beacon Street. The interior was found rummaged through, and a wallet was reported missing. There were no signs of forced entry. 

CAR BREAK

Officers responded to a walk-in report of a car break in an alleyway between Williston Road and Corey Road. The vehicle’s interior was rummaged through, with minor items taken. 

FRAUD

A fraud case was reported on Warren St. The reporting party said they sent money to someone claiming to need help, but later realized it was a scam. The phone number they sent money to was traced to an unknown person in a different state. 

SHOPLIFTING

An individual reported shoplifting at a business on Harvard Street. Multiple suspects entered the store concealed clothing and jewelry on their persons.
