Sunday November 18th

2:00PM- A report of malicious damage was taken at the Holyhood Cemetery.  The reporting party stated the last time she visited the family gravesite was mid September and nothing was out of order.  When she visited on 11/18/18 she found that the flag next to the family headstone had been burned.  An officer observed pieces of the stick on the ground and remnants of ashes on the gravestone.  This case is being investigated. 

Saturday, November 17th

4:53AM-  A report of malicious damage to vehicle was taken on Egmont Street.  The reporting party stated she parked her vehicle on Egmont Street around 1:00AM and returned to the vehicle around 4:30AM.  She started to drive her vehicle for about 25 feet before she noticed it felt different.  She exited the car and observed all four of her tires were flat.   She believes they were punctured purposely. This case is being investigated.

8:00AM-Officers were dispatched to Chapel Street for a report of a break, entering and larceny.  The complainant stated he arrived to his building on Chapel Street on 11/15/18 around 11:15PM.  He left his vehicle with the valet service that runs parking for the residents of the building.  When he went to retrieve the vehicle the next morning he noticed an item was missing from the back seat.  This case is under investigation.

3:45PM-  Officers responded to a call for a shoplifting incident on Beacon Street.  The store manager reported the suspect entered the store around 3:35PM and left around 3:39PM.  The manager described the suspect in detail and reported the suspect stole three bottles of body wash.  This case is being investigated.

4:50PM- Officers received a report of a shoplifting incident on Harvard Street.  The loss prevention officer reported the suspect entered the store around 3:53PM and left around 4:00PM.  The suspect was described to officers and clothing was reported stolen.  This case is under investigation.

Thursday, November 15th

9:13AM- Officers responded to a call for a larceny report.  The reporting party stated he ordered a package which had been confirmed delivered on 10/12/18 although he had not received the package.  This case is under investigation.

Wednesday, November 14th

10:55AM- Officers responded to the area of Boylston Street and High street for a report of road rage.  The reporting party stated that while traveling east bound on Boylston Street she passed through the intersection of Cypress Street cutting off a gray Ford Escape. The operator of the Ford drove next to her making aggressive gestures and giving her the middle finger.  The reporting party allowed him to pass and drove behind him.  He began slamming on his brakes in front of her.  When she changed lanes he swerved in front of her and slammed on his brakes again.  The reporting party exited her vehicle and approached the Ford asking him why he was trying to cause an accident. The driver of the Ford then exited his vehicle holding a gold colored lacrosse stick in his hand and he began swinging the stick at her.  The reporting party put her hands up in front of her face and the stick hit her left hand. She then took the bottle of water she was holding and threw some water on him and retreated back to her car. The Ford driver then slammed the butt end of the stick onto the hood of the car casing two half dollar size dents. The reporting party then called the police. She described the suspect and a partial plate to officers on scene.  Officers in the Cypress/ Boylston Street area observed a car matching the description making an illegal U-turn and stopped him.  The man in the vehicle matched the description of the suspect the reporting party described.  The operator was arrested for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle and issued a citation for an illegal U-turn.

7:05PM- A report of a shoplifting incident was taken on Harvard Street.  The loss prevention manager of the store led officers to the suspect upon their arrival.  The suspect reported taking three items, exiting the store and placing them in her personal vehicle.  An officer recovered the items which appeared to be damaged by having the straps removed from the purses in order to remove the security tags.  The suspect is being charged with Larceny Shoplifting and Malicious Destruction of Property. 

Monday, November 12th

7:50AM- An animal bite that occurred on 11/8 was reported.  The reporting party stated that on 11/8 around 9:30AM she was jogging and pushing a baby carriage on Heath Street onto Cramond Road.  As she turned onto Cramond Road she saw a landscaping crew working and the crew’s cars parked across the street.  She observed a male standing at one of the parked cars open the car door. A dog exited the opened door and ran around the car to the front of the vehicle, and headed across the street toward her. She observed the dog to be unleashed. The dog paused at the front of the baby carriage she was pushing, quickly moved around the carriage and behind the reporting party.  The dog then hopped up and bit her on the hip. She remained calm, did not scream, as she was trying to not enrage the dog or panic the baby.  She continued slowly jogging, moving the baby and herself further away from the dog.  She then observed the owner placing the dog back in the vehicle and approached him to request his information, and the dog’s information.  Officers contacted him and he was issues a bylaw citation for a Dog at Large and Bitten or Injuring a Person.

12:22PM- Officers received notification of a shoplifting incident occurring at a store on Harvard Street.  The description of the suspect was radioed to responding officers.  An employee from the store was said to have followed the suspect to another store on Harvard Street.  The suspect was observed by the employee entering the establishment.  Officers that arrived on scene were met by the employee who provided an updated description of the suspect.  An officer located two people arguing towards the rear of the store and entered an employee’s only section where he found the two people one matching the description of the suspect.  The second person, the store manager of the second location reported witnessing the suspect place items into his backpack.  The suspect was placed under arrest.  After acquiring the suspects identification officers were made aware that he had four arrest warrants.   

Sunday, November 11th

12:10AM- Officers were dispatched to Beacon Street and Saint Paul Street for a past assault and battery.  The caller was following the assaulting party north on Saint Paul street towards Freeman Street.  The two individuals were located on Pleasant Street.  The victim, a cab driver reported picking up a person in the area of Kenmore square and driving him to a location on Beacon Street in Brookline.  The driver reported upon arriving at the destination the passenger did not have enough money to pay the fare so he exited the car and walked away.  The driver reported exiting the cab and walking toward the man insisting that he pay the fare.  The man refused and became assaultive, punching the driver.  The driver informed the defendant that he was calling the police and the defendant left the scene.  The driver followed the defendant from a distance on foot to Pleasant Street.  The defendant was located and will be summonsed to court for assault and battery.

Saturday, November 10th

3:00PM- Officers responded to Harvard Street for a larceny report.  The victim reported that around 12:45PM a subject entered the store and stole his cell phone and mail that was on the counter.  The subject was observed on camera entering the store, walking around appearing to steal loose mail off of a counter, placing it in a white plastic bag he was carrying and taking a black colored cell phone off a table and quickly exiting the store.  The suspect was described in detail to officers.  This case is being investigated. 

6:07PM- Officers were dispatched to Saint Paul Street for a break and entering of a motor vehicle.  The caller stated he parked his car on 11/9 around 4:00PM in his garage.  Around 7:00AM on 11/10 he noticed his vehicle had been rummaged through.  The glove compartment was left open, papers were thrown onto the floor of the vehicle, money and a few other items were taken.  The vehicle was left unlocked.  This case is under investigation.

Friday, November 9th

11:09AM- A report of a break, entering and larceny of a motor vehicle was made at the Brookline Police Station.  The reporting party stated he parked his vehicle overnight on 11/8 around 9:06PM at the John Street/Babcock Street Lot.  When he returned to his vehicle on 11/9 around 8:00AM he noticed his bag was missing from the rear seat.  This case is being investigated.

3:38PM- Officers assisted in attempting to locate a missing vehicle on Still Street.  The reporting party stated he parked his vehicle in its assigned parking spot around 6:30PM on 11/8 and locked the doors.  He noticed his vehicle was missing on 11/9 around 3:30PM.  Officers searched the area and contacted tow companies yielding negative results.  This case is under investigation.

Thursday, November 8th

9:33AM- Officers were dispatched to Beacon St for a report of malicious damage.  A building manager reported that the glass window of the front door to the main entrance had been shattered.  His surveillance footage displayed a male subject kicking the glass window on 11/7 around 1:50PM.  This case is under investigation.

12:52PM- Officers took a report of an attempted break and entering of a home on University Road.  The reporting party stated her screen window had two holes cut in at each bottom corner and it was pushed open several inches.  This case is being investigated. 

3:00PM- A student from the Brookline High School reported her bike stolen during the school day.  The Schwinn bicycle was left unlocked in the quad around 8:20AM.  She returned around 2:30PM and discovered it was missing.  This case is under investigation. 

3:48PM- A larceny report was taken on Commonwealth Avenue.  The reporting party reported attending a local gym around 1:45PM.  He left items in an unlocked locker and when he returned around 3:45PM they were gone.  This case is being investigated.

11:10PM- A larceny from a building was reported on Pleasant Street.  The complainant relayed that her downstairs neighbor observed packages belonging to herself and the complainant in the foyer when she arrived home around 3:00PM.  She left the residence and returned around 6:20PM to find all the packages gone.  This case is under investigation. 

Wednesday, November 7th

8:30PM- A package theft was reported at the Brookline Police Station.  The complainant, residing on Juniper Street stated on 10/23 he placed an order for an electronic device.  The next day he received an email that the package had been shipped.  He received a notification on 10/26 that the package had been delivered at 10:14AM.  When he went to retrieve the package the following morning it was not there.  The apartment building has a locked front vestibule door.  This case is being investigated.

Tuesday, November 8th

1:05PM- Officers were dispatched to Davis Avenue for a report of graffiti on a building.  The property manager of the building told officers that when he left for work Wednesday evening around 5:00PM he didn’t see any damages to the building.  When he arrived at work on Thursday morning around 9:00AM he noticed pink graffiti on the outside wall of the building.  This case is under investigation.

Monday, November 5th

12:30PM- A larceny report was made on Heath Street.  A student reported losing his credit card on 11/1 around 8:00PM.  On Friday 11/2 he received an email that his card was found by another student and had been turned in.  On Saturday 11/3 he found that charges were made to his card.  He contacted one of the companies the items were purchased from.  He was able to find out the name of the people the packages were addressed to.  The name on the package corresponded with the name of the student who turned in the card. The other name on the package was the suspect’s boyfriend.  This case is under investigation. 

5:00PM- Officers were dispatched to Dean Road for a report of a larceny.  The victim stated she and her boyfriend parked her boyfriend’s car on Linden Place around 11:00AM.  She remembers leaving her wallet in the middle console just underneath the gear shift prior to leaving the vehicle.  When they returned to the vehicle around 12:00PM they discovered the wallet was missing.  This case is being investigated.

Sunday, November 4th

11:34AM- An individual reported his motorcycle stolen at the Brookline Police Department.  An officer first checked the system to see if the car had been towed.  The reporting party relayed that his client allows him to park his motorcycle in the buildings rear parking lot located on Vernon Street.  The gray Yamaha Sport motorcycle had been parked there since 10/30 and he last saw it on 11/3 around 4:00PM.  On 11/4 around 10:00AM he discovered the motorcycle was missing.  This case is under investigation. 

1:00PM- Officers were dispatched to Beacon Street for a larceny report.  The complainant reported that on 11/29 around 1:00PM she was getting ready to leave her home and took off her rings.  When she was leaving a maintenance worker arrived to complete a job she requested.  The worker told her she did not have to be present for the job so she left the home.  When she returned around 4:00PM she noticed her rings were gone.  She spent a week looking for them and had assistance going so.  She was unable to find them.  This case is being investigated. 

Saturday, November 3rd

2:28PM- Officers responded to Fisher Avenue for a report of a broken window in a town owned building.  Upon arrival an officer observed a broken window on the southward side of the building.  It appeared to have been lifted a quarter of the way in an attempt to gain entry.  A padlock was observed along with a beer can and shards of broken glass on the floor inside the building.  Blood was observed on the floor where it appears the assailant cut them self on the shattered window while trying to gain access to the building.  This case is case is being investigated.

Friday, November 2nd

6:30AM- An officer was dispatched to Walcott Road for a report of a break, entering and larceny from a motor vehicle.  The reporting party reported that at 1:00AM on 11/2 he parked his vehicle in his driveway.  That same morning at 5:00AM he went to his vehicle and found that his bicycle which was in the back seat was missing.  This case is under investigation. 

9:49AM- A package theft incident was reported on Egmont Street.  The complainant reported to an officer that at 3:00PM when her daughter came home from school she saw two packages in the vestibule addressed to them.  The daughter was unable to pick them up at the time so she left them there for her mother to pick up.  When the mother and daughter arrived home around midnight the packages were gone.  This case is being investigated. 

6:43PM-  A report was made at the station for a stolen motor vehicle from the rear lot of a car company on Commonwealth Avenue.  The reporting party stated her car broke down and she got it towed to a car company.  When she contacted the company to check on her vehicle she was told they did not have her vehicle.  She contacted the tow company who informed her that they put her vehicle in the rear lot of a different car repair company.  The reporting party then called that company who denied having the vehicle.  This case is under investigation. 

Wednesday, October 31st

9:03AM- Officers were dispatched to Carlton Street for a report of an egged house.  The reporting party, owner of the home stated when he woke up in the morning he noticed broken eggs on his front porch and on the front of his house.  He reported arriving home the prior night around 10:00PM and not seeing any eggs or damage at that time.  This case is under investigation.

3:06PM- Officers responded to a call of an erratic operator in the area of Kent Street and Aspinwall Avenue.  An off duty officer observed a male riding a scooter without a helmet on driving on and off a sidewalk on Kent Street, turn right onto Aspinwall Avenue without stopping at the red light, not yielding to oncoming traffic when crossing the intersection on Saint Paul Street and failing to stop at a stop sign.  The officer dispatched the description of the subject to officers as he followed the subject.  Another officer observed the subject driving on the sidewalk on Harvard Street and exited the car to pursue the subject on foot.   He approached the subject and asked to speak to him.  The subject then drove the scooter off the sidewalk and up Harvard Avenue in the wrong direction.  The direction the suspect was heading was radioed to officers in the area.  The subject was observed driving behind a home on Harvard Street and continuing onto Harvard Place.  He then jumped off the scooter, threw it to the ground and ran through Pierce Playground.  Officers responded to the area to locate the subject.  Officers observed the subject running in a backyard.  Officers surrounded the backyard and called out “if you are back here show us your hands”.  Officers received no response.  The subject was found hiding under a black SUV in a parking lot and arrested.   Officers asked if he was in possession of anything harmful and the subject responded no.  Boston Police and a Boston Police K9 assisted with the investigation. The scooter was found to be stolen.  The subject is being charged with operating to endanger, right on red violation, operating a moped without a helmet, failure to yield to oncoming traffic, failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to stop for a police officer, operating a moped without a driver’s license, and larceny of property.

8:30PM- A report of a stolen package was made on Euston Street.  The victim reported receiving a text from his neighbor that a package was stolen from the front door of their home.  The neighbor stated he arrived home to a package opened with the contents removed.  The victim’s wife received confirmation that a package they ordered was delivered but when the husband arrived home he could not locate a package.  Video surveillance caught the theft.  This case is under investigation.

•          The victim also reported a stolen bicycle.  He stated that he went on vacation on 9/20/18 and returned on 10/2/18.  He reports when he returned home his bicycle was no longer attached to a fence.  The bike had been locked to the fence with a Kryptonite lock.  The fence was cut and the bike and lock were removed and stolen.  The bicycle is described as a silver men’s Trek.  This case is being investigated.

Tuesday, October 30th

5:10PM- An officer was dispatched to the Evelyn Kirrane Aquatic Center on Tappan Street for a report of indecent exposure that occurred earlier in the day.  The director informed the officer that a witness observed another patron who is a Brookline resident inappropriately exposing himself.  The witness reported that around 6:30AM while conducting a morning swim he observed an older white male in the swimming area standing by the pool wall facing the stands.  He later noticed the older male had moved to the other end of the pool and was swimming.  As the witness approached the end of the pool he viewed the older male’s swimming trunks down around his knees and he was inappropriately touching himself.  The reporting party notified the life guard and front desk staff about his observations and when he returned the older male had already exited the pool.  The older male was identified and contacted.  He is being charged with Open and Gross and this matter is still under investigation.

A report was made of an animal bite on Fuller Street.  The reporting party stated he was walking on Fuller Street, approaching Harvard Street.  He crossed paths with a person walking several dogs.  He recalls one of the dogs biting him on the left leg.  Out of the group of dogs he remembers which dog was the aggressor.  He told the dog walker about the biting incident and police are conducting an investigation.

Monday, October 29th

A string of graffiti tags occurred over the weekend and were reported on Monday:

·         An officer was dispatched to Boylston Street for a graffiti complaint.  He observed graffiti in black spray paint on the front of the building.  The owner reported on 10/27/18 that he closed his workshop around 5:00PM and the graffiti was not there. 

·         Another officer responded to a different location on Boylston Street for a graffiti complaint of two black graffiti tags spray painted on garage doors.  The tags were the same as that of the previous complaint. 

·         Three other locations on Boylston Street were observed to be tagged and were photographed by officers.  These cases are under investigation.

Saturday, October 27th

10:04AM- Officers were dispatched to Mason Terrace for a bike theft report.  The reporting party stated sometime between 8:00PM on 10/26/18 and 9:00AM on 10/27/18 someone entered the bulkhead doors in the back of their house that leads to storage space and took one of the bicycles.  The bicycle is described as a red 2018 Santa Cruz 5010 C S 27.5.  This case is being investigated.

11:20AM- Officers responded to Egmont Street for a break and entering and larceny that had occurred between 10:45PM on 10/26/18 and 2:00AM on 10/27/18.  The residents reported leaving their apartment around 10:45PM on 10/26/18 with locked doors and windows.  One resident stated they all noticed their things were missing the morning of 10/27/18 when they woke up.  Each of the three residents reported items missing.  This case is under investigation.

11:47AM- Brookline Police received a report of shoplifting.  The suspect was described as black female, older, glasses, blonde tips on her hair, wearing brown coat, carrying a big green shopping bag and walking with a cane.  When officers arrived a short time later the suspect had already left the store in an unknown direction.  The reporting employee stated when the women entered the store she recognized her from previous shoplifting incidents.  She went to notify the supervisor and when she returned she witnessed the suspect place items into her green bag.  She confronted the suspect and received no response.  The suspect then exited the store.  This case is under investigation. 

Thursday, October 25th

12:14PM- A dog bite complaint was made for an incident that occurred on 10/24/18 around 10:30AM.  The reporting party reported walking her dog through Harry Downs Field when she saw another individual with her dog playing fetch with a ball.  The Reporting party walked over to the person and greeted her.  The other dog owner petted the reporting party’s dog.  She reported observing the other dog charge back towards their direction with the ball and attack her dog.  She tried to separate the two and claimed her hand was bitten in the process.  An officer spoke with the other individual who claimed while she was playing fetch with her dog the reporting party’s dog ran over to her dog and tried to grab the ball out of her dog’s mouth.  The reporting party tried to separate the two and claimed she was bitten but put her hand in her pocket and denied assistance.  The officer was unable to determine which dog was the aggressor.  Both dog owners were advised their dogs will be subject to a 10 day quarantine.

An officer was conducting a follow up for the graffiti incidents that took place in the Brookline Village area on 10/19/18.  While trying to retrace the suspect’s path the officer discovered the same tag spray painted on three other locations.  This case is under investigation.
