8/24/2015-8/25/2015

On August 24^th, an officer while on patrol on Harvard Street observed an individual riding a bicycle matching a description of a bicycle that was recently reported stolen.  The officer approached the subject and identified himself as a Brookline Police Officer. The officer requested to speak with an individual to which he agreed.  The individual stated he was the owner of the bicycle and Brookline Dispatch confirmed the bicycle he was riding was not reported stolen. Brookline Dispatch conducted a criminal history query on the individual, which revealed the subject had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.  The individual was placed under arrest.

On August 25th, an officer while on patrol on Washington Street conducted a random query of a vehicle stopped at a red light.  The query revealed the vehicle’s registration and the owner’s driver’s license were suspended. The officer activated her overhead emergency lights and safely initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of White Place and Washington St.  The officer asked the operator for his license and registration which confirmed he was the owner of the vehicle. Brookline Dispatch confirmed the operator’s license and the vehicles registration were suspended and the subject was placed under arrest.

On August 25^th, an officer stationed at the front desk spoke with a resident who wanted to report her bicycle stolen.  The victim stated the night before she had locked her bicycle to a tree at the corner of Willow Crescent and Clinton Rd.  The next morning the victim noticed the bicycle was missing and the cable lock that secured the bicycle was cut and lying on the ground.  

On August 25^th, an officer responded to Beacon St. for a disturbance call.   The caller reported to Brookline Dispatch that the individual fled the apartment in his vehicle.  The officer spotted a vehicle matching the description that had been broadcasted over the radio and activated his overhead emergency blue lights to initiate a traffic stop on Kent St.  The officer advised the individual as to the reason for the stop. The individual stated that he got into a verbal altercation with the reporting person and was banging on the door to get his medication and check book so he could stay at a hotel. The reporting person’s version of what happened matched the subjects.  The officer then requested Brookline Dispatch to run a query check on the subject, which revealed he had a revoked license. The subject was placed under arrest.

On August 25^th, Brookline Dispatch requested units to respond a local gas station on Washington St. for an armed robbery.  Dispatch gave a description of the subject and reported he exited the door heading onto Brookline Ave. Units patrolled the area to no avail. On scene, the store employee reported the individual came through the entrance and announced he was robbing the store. The employee stated the subject had pulled a handgun out and ordered him to put the money from the register into a bag. After taking the money the suspect fled on foot. The store manager arrived on scene and gave the responding officers a copy of the surveillance video. This matter is still under investigation.  

8/21/2015-8/23/2015

On August 21^st, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Atherton Rd. for a possible assault.  On scene, the officer spoke with the male party fitting the description given by the reporting party.  The subject stated he was visiting a friend and they stepped outside the building and both got locked out of the apartment. The friend was located in the area of Summit Ave.  The victim stated that the subject got upset after locking the keys in the apartment and struck the victim in the forehead with his fist. The victim was able to run away from the subject and a neighbor called 911.  The subject was placed under arrest.

On August 21^st, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Beacon St. for a past breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.  On scene, the victim stated he had parked his vehicle locked in the back of the apartment building. A few hours later, the victim went to retrieve an item from his vehicle and he noticed the passenger door ajar. The victim reported missing several medications located in the car.

On August 21^st, an officer observed a vehicle stopped at a red traffic signal in the left lane on Beacon St. westbound at Harvard St. The officer observed the vehicle go through the red traffic signal, crossing two other lanes of vehicle’s for the light and proceed north on Harvard St.  The officer activated his emergency overhead lights, and safely initiated a traffic stop.   The officer then advised the driver as to the reason for the stop and asked for his identification. The operator presented the officer with a passport. The officer queried the operator’s information which confirmed he did not have a valid driver’s license. The subject was placed under arrest.

On August 21^st, an officer was dispatched to a Bonad Rd. for a report of a past residential Breaking and Entering and Larceny of Property.  The victim stated that she had arrived home and observed the contents of her home to be in disarray. The officer concluded the suspect entered through a second story bathroom window and exited through the rear of the porch. The victim reported missing several gift cards and a dress.

On August 22^nd, an officer responded to a business on Commonwealth Ave. for a report of a female shoplifter inside the store. On scene, the officer was approached by a store employee who pointed out and female subject.  The store employee reported the subject was a known shoplifter.  The officer observed the subject walking out the front door with a large bag of  items.  The officer identified himself as a Brookline Police officer. The subject identified herself and a criminal history check of the subject revealed she had outstanding warrants. The officer also found in the subject possession a stolen wallet with a driver’s license and three credit cards.  The suspect was immediately placed under arrest.

On August 22^nd, an officer working on a detail entered a store to purchase a beverage. As the officer was about to exit the store and individual in a hurried fashioned entered the store almost bumping into the officer.  The officer observed the individual remove his backpack and place a bottle of alcohol into the bag.  The subject placed the backpack over his shoulders and exited the store.  The officer confronted the individual and identified himself as a Brookline Police officer. The subject removed the backpack and immediately began to run from the officer.  A foot chase ensued and the subject was stopped at the intersection of Beacon St. and Pleasant St. The subject was placed under arrest and immediately transported to back to the Brookline Police Station.

08/19/2015

On August 19^th, officers were dispatched to Pearl Street for a report of a past theft. Victims stated they came home dropped his bag down at the entrance of their building and leaving it there and returning to his car to get his keys. When he returned he noticed his bag was missing. The victims reported a number of valuable items where in the bag at the time of the theft. This matter is still under investigation.

On August 19^th, officers were dispatched to James Street for a report of an attempted motorcycle theft. The victim recalled parking his motorcycle and returning later to find significant front end damage to the bike and also the ignition area. It appears the suspect tried stealing the bike but after an unsuccessful attempt the suspect fled the scene. This matter is still under investigation.

8/18/2015

On August 18^th, an officer on patrol observed a sedan traveling eastbound on Montfort St. The officer conducted a random query of the vehicles registration with the cruisers laptop. The query revealed the vehicles registration was revoked and the owner of the vehicle had an Expired/Non-renewable driver’s license. The officer activated his overhead emergency lights and safely initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Essex St. and Mountfort St.  The officer then advised the operator as to the reason for the stop and asked the driver to identify herself, which confirmed she was the owner of the vehicle.  The subject was placed under arrest.

On August 18^th, an officer on patrol was flagged down by a Brookline resident on the corner of Babcock St. and Commonwealth Ave. The resident informed the officer that an individual just set fire to cardboard boxes in the trash pile on the backside of the resident business in front of Babcock St. The officer located the suspect and asked him to identify himself.  Brookline Dispatch indicated that the male had an outstanding warrant and placed him under arrest.

On August 18^th, an officer was dispatched to Brookline Ave. for a past report of a bicycle stolen.  The victim stated he noticed his bicycle was missing from River Rd., The victim reported the bicycle was left unlocked leaning against a No Parking sign.

On August 18^th, an officer on patrol on Lee Street, observed a vehicle switching lanes without a using a turn signal.  The officer conducted a random query of the vehicle on the cruisers laptop, which revealed the inspection sticker was expired. The officer activated the overhead emergency blue lights and initiated a traffic stop. The officer asked the operator, for his operator's license and vehicle registration, and advised him for the reason of the vehicle stop.  The driver advised the officer he did not possess a valid driver’s license and the subject was placed under arrest.

Brookline Police report the arrest of a subject this past weekend. This subject had been sought for committing several breaks and entering’s in our Town. The breaks happened in the early part of this month in the north section of Town. Evidence from the house break-ins led officers to get an arrest warrant out of Brookline District Court late last week. Saturday August 15th the subject was located and arrested.  

8/17/2015

On August 17^th, an officer while on patrol recognized a subject from past encounters and believed the subject to have active warrants for his arrest.  The Brookline Dispatch confirmed the subject had two outstanding warrants and was placed under arrest.

On August 17^th, an officer was dispatched to Warwick Rd. for a past report of larceny.  On scene, the victim stated his unlocked scooter was missing from the alley way that runs the length of Warwick Rd.

On August 17^th, an officer was dispatched to St. Paul St. for a past report of a larceny of a bicycle. The victim reported he had chained the bicycle to a metal fence just outside of his residence the night before.  The victim noticed the bicycle and lock missing the next morning.

On August 17^th, an officer assigned to the front desk was approached by a man who wanted to report his vehicle stolen.  The victim stated that he had attended church service in Brookline on Colchester St. the morning before. The vehicle would not start and left vehicle to be towed.   The towing company had never arrived and the vehicle was gone. 

8/14/2015-8/16/2015

On August 14^th, an officer while monitoring traffic at Independence Dr. and Gerry Rd. observed a vehicle crossing the double yellow line in the middle of the road. The officer activated his overhead emergency lights and initiated a traffic stop. The driver did not have a valid driver’s license and was placed under arrest.

On August 14^th, officers dispatched to Harvard St. for a check on a well-being.  According to the reporting person, the male had not shirt on and was pushing a shopping carrier in the middle of Harvard St., accompanied by a white female. On scene, the officers asked the individuals for identification. The officers conducted a criminal history inquiry of the subjects revealed the female had outstanding warrants for her arrest. The female subject was placed under arrest.

On August 14^th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on James St. for a past report of breaking and entering and larceny. On scene, the victim stated he was out of town for a few weeks. A few days before returning home, the neighbor notified the victim that door to his residence as well as the rear bedroom window were left open. The victim asked the neighbor to secure the residence until he could make arrangements to return home. Once home, the victim noticed his apartment in disarray.  The victim reported missing several electronic devices and pieces of his wife’s jewelry missing.

On August 14^th, an officer stationed at the intersection of Harvard St. and School St. observed a vehicle make a left turn from Harvard St. onto School St. without yielding to the oncoming traffic. The officer activated his overhead emergency lights and initiated a traffic stop. The driver had a valid license and was the registered owner of the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle were not wearing seat belts and the officer requested the occupants’ identification. The officer conducted a criminal history inquiry of the passengers, which revealed one of the passengers had a warrant outstanding warrant for his arrest. The passenger was placed under arrest and the driver was issued a citation.

On August 14^th, an officer assigned to the area of Cypress Field heard a radio transmission by an officer stationed in the Coolidge Corner that he was in pursuit of a scooter which was failing to stop.  The subject was stopped at intersection of Harvard St. and Linden St. and the subject was placed under arrest.

On August 15^th, an officer was dispatched to Beacon St. for report of a stolen bicycle. On scene, the victim stated his bicycle was stolen from a bike rack in the rear of the building between the night of August 14^th and the early afternoon of August 15^th. This matter is still under investigation.

On August 16^th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Pearl St. for a reporting of breaking and entering of a dwelling. On scene, the victim stated he had gone to church and when he arrived home he observed the locking mechanism was detached from the door. The victim noticed missing several pieces of jewelry missing and an alarm clock missing. This matter is still under investigation.

On August 16th, an officer monitoring traffic at the intersection of Harvard Street and Green Street observed a vehicle traveling in his location and conducted a random query of the vehicles registration with the cruisers laptop.  The query revealed the subject had two outstanding warrants out for his arrest. The officer activated his overhead emergency blue lights and initiated a traffic stop. The officer advised the operator as to the reason for the stop. The driver of the vehicle was in fact the owner of the vehicle. The subject was placed under arrest. 

8/12/2015

On August 12^th officers where on patrol in a marked cruiser and observed a vehicle traveling on St. Paul Street. A random query of the vehicle’s registration revealed the owner of the vehicle had a warrant out for their arrest. Officers proceeded to pull over the vehicle. Once it was determined that the driver was indeed the owner of the vehicle they were placed under arrest.

On August 12^th officers were dispatched to Kent Street for a larceny report. Upon arrival officers spoke with the victim who stated the bike had been taken from underneath the rear porch. The bike was left unsecured underneath the porch.

On August 12^th officers were on patrol in the area of Harvard Street. Officers observed a vehicle traveling southbound. Officers proceeded to run a random query of the vehicle’s registration. The query revealed that the registered owner of the vehicle had two active warrants. The query also revealed the vehicle did not have a valid inspection sticker. Officers proceeded to pull over the vehicle. Officers identified the driver as the registered owner of the vehicle and placed him under arrest without incident. 

8/11/2015

August 11^th blog

On August 11^th officers were dispatched to Commonwealth Avenue for a report of suspicious activity outside of a Pharmacy. The Pharmacy store owner recognized these individuals from past incidents and relayed there description to the police. Upon arrival noticed two individuals matching the description and stopped them for questioning. After questioning one of the individuals was placed under arrest for shoplifting from the Pharmacy. This individual was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

On August 11^th officers were patrolling the area around Kendall Street. Officers noticed two individuals who appeared to be soliciting door to door. The officers stopped these two individuals who stated they were preparing to solicit but did not start yet. After explain the towns by law the officers asked for identification. One of the individuals produced an out of state license while the other did not have any identification but told the officers there name. After dispatch ran queries for both individuals, dispatched informed the officers that the individual with no identification had an outstanding out of state warrant for their arrest. Officers placed the individual under arrest. The warrant was for Failure to Appear and Trespassing on Private Property and called for Full Extradition.

8/7/2015-8/10/2015

On August 7^th, officers were dispatch to Babcock Street for report of a patient being release who had an active warrant out for her arrest.  Upon arrival to the scene, the officers located the individual on the 2^nd floor and the individual was placed under arrest without incident.

On August 7^th, officers were dispatched to St. Mary’s street for a past breaking & entering & larceny of a residential building. Upon arrival, the officers spoke with the victims who stated they were both out of the apartment for several hours. The residents also reported locking the doors and the windows before leaving the apartment. When the two arrived home, they noticed the rear door was unlocked. After further inspecting the apartment, the two noticed several items missing including pieces of jewelry, a Bluetooth speaker, and a cellphone.

On August 7^th, an officer was dispatched to Harvard Street for a past report of breaking & entering & larceny of a residence. On scene, the victim reported arriving to her apartment and noticed the front door was kicked in.  The victim also reported that drawers and boxes were placed on the floor. The victim reported missing several electronic devices and several pieces of jewelry.

On August 7^th, an officer was dispatched to St. Paul St. for a report of a larceny of a bicycle. On scene, the victim stated his bicycle was attached to a pole outside his apartment the day before. The next morning he noticed the bicycle was missing and immediately reported the crime to the Brookline Police Department.

On August 7^th, an officer was dispatched to a local hotel on Beacon St. for a report of a larceny.  On scene, the victim reported placing her purse on the bench near the pool deck. After twenty minutes of watching her son in the pool, the victim noticed her purse was missing from the bench. The victim immediately approached the front desk and asked if anyone had taken the purse and turned it in. The reception desk had confirmed the purse was returned and gave it to the victim. On further inspection of the purse, the victim noticed a large sum of money was missing.

On August 7^th, an officer while on patrol traveling on Harvard St. observed a vehicle without a valid inspection sticker.  The officer activated his overhead emergency lights and safely initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Longwood Ave and Sewall Ave. The officer then advised the operator as to the reason for the stop and asked him for his license and registration. The driver stated he did not have a valid driver’s license on him and gave the officer his Social Security Number. A query of the operator’s information revealed the operator had two warrants out for his arrest.  The warrants were confirmed by Brookline Dispatch and the individual was placed under arrest.

On August 7^th, officers were dispatched to area of Chestnut Hill Ave. at Clinton Rd. for a report of an SUV traveling erratically at a high rate of speed.  An officer stopped at the intersection of Chestnut Hill Ave. observed a SUV matching the description of the reported vehicle. The officer activated his overhead emergency lights in an attempt to stop initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle continued down the street until finally coming to a complete stop at Boylston St. The officer informed the operator as to the reason for the stop and asked for her license and registration. The individual became emotional and started to cry when she could not find her wallet. The officer could also smell an order of intoxicating liquor coming from the driver.  The officer then asked for the individual to step out of the vehicle to perform a Field Sobriety Test.  After completing the tests, the officer concluded the subject was intoxicated. The officer then asked the individual if individual was willing to summit to a chemical breath test.  The subject refused and officer explained to the subject that a refusal could lead to her immediate arrest.  The subject stated she understood and still refused to take a chemical breath test. The subject was placed under arrest.

On August 9^th, an officer while assigned to the front desk was approached by a Brookline resident who wanted to report that someone had stolen his mother’s wallet.  The resident stated that his mother was shopping alone at a local grocery store. When the victim was going to pay for the items she could not find her wallet in her purse. The victim stated to her son she had left her bag unattended several times while shopping.  This matter is still under investigation.

On August 10^th, several officers were dispatched to the area of Boylston St. for a reported hit and run that had just recently taken place. Brookline dispatchers put out the description of the vehicle and within minutes an officer successfully initiated a traffic stop. The driver was advised as to the reason for the stop and was asked to produce a driver’s license and registration. The driver stated he did not have a driver’s license on him. The officer noticed the order of intoxicating liquor emanating from the driver .  When asked about if he had made contact with any vehicles while driving, the subject stated “Oh that White car?” but did not deny or admit to hitting any motor vehicle. The officer asked the subject to step out of the vehicle to perform a Field Sobriety Test.  The officer advised the subject to his right to a chemical breath test.  The subject agreed to take the test.   The subject was placed under arrest.

On August 10^th, an officer was traveling Eastbound on Beacon Street and observed a vehicle with a piece of cardboard over the rear license plate mount.  The officer activated his overhead emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop.  The driver was advised as to the reason for the stop and was asked to produce a driver’s license and registration. A query of the driver’s information revealed the driver had a warrant out for his arrest.  The warrant was confirmed by Brookline Dispatch confirmed and the subject was placed under arrest.

On August 10^th, an officer was dispatched to Beacon Street for a report of a stolen motor vehicle.  On scene, the victims stated that he and his partner worked as cable installers. The victims stated their work van had the keys inside and the vehicle was unlocked. When they came out to retrieve some equipment they realized the van was gone and immediately reported the vehicle stolen.

August 6^th blog

On August 6^th, 2015 officers responded to Egmont Street for a Breaking and Entering and Larceny from a building. The victim reported returning to her apartment to find the door open and the apartment ransacked. Officers observed pry marks along the frame of the door and the dead bolt lock torn off.  This is the 7^th burglary in the town last week. Many of these breaks the culprits forced their way into the apartments either through a window or door. This matter is still under investigation.

August 5^th Blog

On August 5^th officers responded to Clinton Road for a report of a stolen bicycle. The victim reported that sometime between the 4^th and the 5^th someone entered there open garage and stole a bike. This matter is still under investigation.

On August 5^th an officer returned to his cruiser to find the windshield damaged. The officer reported the broken window. This matter is still under investigation.

On August 5^th officers responded to Egmont Street for a report of a larceny from a motor vehicle.  The victim stated he parked his vehicle and returned to it the next day and found several items missing. This matter is still under investigation.

On August 5^th officers where on patrol on Mountfort Street, officers observed a vehicle traveling on this street and ran a random query of the vehicle, the query indicated the registered owner had a revoked license status. The officers pulled over the vehicle and identified the driver as the registered owner. The officers were able to place the individual under arrest without incident.

On August 5^th officers were on Thayer Street when they observed a school bus stop with its caution lights and stop sign. The officers then observed a vehicle travel passed the bus while the lights where still flashing.  The officers pulled over the vehicle. After the driver produced his license and registration, a query of the driver’s information indicated that the driver had a warrant out for his arrest. The officers were able to arrest the individual without incident.

On August 5^th officers were dispatched to Harvard Street for a report of a Breaking and Entering. Officers spoke to the victims who stated upon arriving home they noticed the front door had sustained damage around the lock and door frame. They also stated noticing their bedrooms had been rummaged through. This matter is still under investigation.

August 4^th, Blog

On August 4^th officers were on patrol on Toxteth Street when a father reported his son hallucinating and he also had a screw driver in his possession. The officers were lead into the residence by the father and came into contact with the son. The officers detained the son. The officers searched the son for any weapons and anything the son may have tossed and came upon a brown substance which from their training the officers believed it to be heroin. After the father described what happened the officers decided to file a section 12 and transport the suspect to a local hospital for further evaluation. The suspect also has been summoned to court.

On August 4^th, officers responded to Egmont Street for a report of a stolen bike. Upon arrival officers talked with the victim who stated she secured her bike to a bicycle rack a couple days ago and noticed the bike missing yesterday. This matter is still under investigation.

8/3/2015

On August 3^rd, an officer was dispatched to a parking lot on James St. for a report of a larceny of a motor vehicles tires and rims. On scene, the victim reported he parked his car for the night and the next morning he observed all four tires and rims were gone. The vehicle was placed on top of two liter soda containers.

On August 3^rd, an officer was dispatched to Bartlett Crescent for a report of a stolen bicycle.  On scene, the victim reported the bicycle was left unsecured, resting against the rear of the house in the driveway. The next morning, the victim noticed the bicycle was missing from the driveway and immediately reported the bicycle was stolen.  

On August 3rd, officers assisted the Park & Open Space Department at the grand reopening of Warren Field at 133 Eliot Street. While on scene, officers gave young community members an opportunity to sit behind the wheel of a Brookline Police cruiser. One community member reported not being able to see over the steering wheel or touch the pedals.

7/29/2015-8/2/2015

On July 29^th, an officer communicated over the radio that he was involved in a motor vehicle pursuit. The officer indicated that the initial infraction occurred at the intersection of Washington Street and Cypress Street. The subject was riding a motorcycle and was traveling a high rate of speed. The pursuit ended on Huntington Avenue in Boston. The subject has been placed under arrest.

On July 30^th, officers were dispatched to a local business on Harvard St. for a shoplifter. The description of the subject was broadcasted over the radio by Brookline Police Dispatch. One of the officers noticed a man matching the description in a nearby parking lot. The officer stop the individual and advised the man of his rights. The officer proceeded to ask the subject if he had been shopping at the store which was recently shoplifted from. The individual stated he bought several items from the store, but was unable to produce a receipt. The individual gave consent for the officer to search his bag, which contained the reported stolen items.  The subject was placed under arrest.

On July 30^th, while on patrol in the area of Coolidge Corner,  an officer observed two suspicious individuals walking around and aggressively asking people money.  The two individuals were stopped and advised as to the reason they were being stopped. One of the individuals did not have any active warrants and was sent on his way.  The second subject had two active warrants and was placed under arrest.

On July 31^st, an officer monitoring southbound traffic on Harvard Street observed a vehicle with a cracked windshield and an expired inspection sticker. The officer activated his emergency overhead blue lights and safely initiated a traffic stop.  The officer approached the driver and immediately advised him as to the reason for the stop. The operator stated he did not have a valid driver’s license. Brookline Police Dispatch confirmed he did not have a valid license and also had a warrant out for his arrest. The subject was placed under arrest

On July 31^st, an officer traveling inbound on Commonwealth Ave. came to a stop at a red traffic light. The officer conducted a random query of the vehicle. The query revealed the vehicle did not have a valid inspection sticker. The officer activated his overhead blue lights in an attempt to pull the vehicle over. The vehicle pulled over to the shoulder, but continued to travel on the shoulder. The officer then signaled with the air horn and siren and the vehicle pulled over to the shoulder and stopped.  The operator was advised as to the reason for the stop. The subject stated he did not initially stop for officer because he did not have a valid driver’s license. Brookline Dispatch confirmed he did not have a valid license and was placed under arrest.

On August 1^st, an officer was dispatched to the area of Boylston St. and Clarke Rd. for a report of an individual breathing but slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. The reporting person stated the vehicle was stopped but was still running.  On scene, the officer noticed the vehicle was still in drive so he placed the vehicle in park and turned the vehicle off.  The man awoke shortly after the officer turned the vehicle off. The officer then called for the Brookline Fire Department and EMS to evaluate the man for any medical conditions. The EMT’s concluded the man had no medical issues and left the scene.  The officer observed a hypodermic needle lying on the floor board in the front of the center console. The officer ordered the subject out of the vehicle and began searching the vehicle. The search revealed several used syringes and one syringe filled with a cloudy liquid substance. The subject was placed under arrest.

On August 2^nd, an officer traveling northbound on St. Paul Street observed a vehicle make a wrong turn onto a mark One-Way road.  The officer activated his emergencies overhead blue lights to initiate a safe traffic stop. The officer then advised the driver as to the reason for the stop. The officer then checked the status of the individual’s driver’s license, which revealed his license was suspended. The subject has been placed under arrest.

On August 2^nd, an officer was dispatched to Marshall St. for a report of a past breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. On scene, the victim reported his back windshield shatter and the contents of his in disarray. The victim reported missing a small sum of loose change.

7/27/2015-7/28/2015

On July 27^th, an officer observed a vehicle stopped at a red arrow in the left turn lane at the intersection of Beacon St. and St. Paul St.  The vehicle quickly turned right onto St. Paul from the left hand turn lane of Beacon Street.  The officers activated the cruisers overhead emergency blue lights and safely initiate a traffic stop. The officer advised the operator of the reason for the stop and asked for the operator’s license and registration.  The officer then queried the driver’s vehicle registration which revealed his right to operate a motor vehicle had been revoked. The subject has been placed under arrest.

On July 27^th, an officer was dispatched to Cameron St. for a past report of Breaking and Entering.  On scene, the owner of the building stated that the three apartment units are currently being renovated. He stated after finishing working on the units around 7 p.m. on July 26^th  and he remembers locking all the doors and windows. The victim stated the next day the door to the first floor unit had been kicked in and a ladder was placed under a second floor window.  The victim reported missing tools which were being stored in the third floor unit.

On July 28^th officers responded to a report of burglary, upon arrival the victim stated there apartment had been burglarized. The victim stated the suspect broke in through the bedroom window. After noticing where the suspect broke in the victim stated seeing her apartment ransacked. She reported a wide array of personal items missing. This matter is still under investigation.

7/24/2015-7/26/2015

On July 24^th, officers were traveling Southbound on Washington St. and performed a query of the registration on the cruiser’s laptop.  The query revealed that the registered owner had an active warrant out for his arrest.  The officers activated the emergency lights and initiated a motor vehicle stop. The operator of the vehicle was the owner and was placed under arrest

On July 24^th, an officer was dispatched to Greenough St. for a past report of larceny.  Upon arrival to the scene, the officer spoke with a security guard who stated a laptop was missing from the building. The reporting person also stated there have been several events that have taken place in the building and it was likely taken during that time. This matter is still under investigation.

On July 24^th, an officer was dispatched to Linden St. for a report of a stolen bicycle. On scene, the reporting person stated she had locked her bike to a “No Parking Anytime” Town of Brookline Street sign. Later that afternoon, the victim found her bike was missing but the lock itself was still intact and attached to the street pole.

On July 24^th, an officer assigned to the front desk received a report of a package theft from a Brookline resident. The victim stated she was expecting the packaged to be delivered on Tuesday, July 21^st, 2015. According to the delivery service tracking system, the package was delivered to the front lobby of her apartment. However, when the victim arrived home the package was not present.

On July 24^th, an officer patrolling the Coolidge Corner area was traveling Southbound on Harvard Street and conducted a query of a sedan into the cruisers laptop. The query revealed the registered owner of had a warrant out for her arrest.  The officers activated the emergency lights and initiated a motor vehicle stop. The operator of the vehicle was the owner and was placed under arrest.

On July 24^th, an officer on foot patrol was flagged down by a Brookline resident to report the theft of her son’s watch.  The woman stated she was leaving her apartment to give the watch to her ex-husband for him to fix.  As she was leaving, she noticed some packages had been delivered and were lying on the vestibule. The woman reported placing the watch on the vestibule floor and carried the packages upstairs to her apartment.  Minutes later, when she came back downstairs the watch was gone.  This matter is still under investigation.

On July 25^th, officers responded to a local business on Harvard St. for a shoplifting in progress. On scene, the night manager reported witnessing the suspect place several items in a reusable shopping bag and attempted to exit the store.  The manager instructed an employee to call the police as he attempted to keep the suspect on scene until the police arrived. The suspect has been placed under arrest.

On July 25^th, an officer was dispatched to Pleasant St. for report of a stolen bicycle. On scene, the victim stated his bicycle along with U-lock which was attached to a street pole was missing. The officer noticed metal shavings on the ground, which indicates the U-lock may have been cut off.

Only July 25^th, an officer was dispatched to the area of Station Street for an activation of the “bait bike’s” GPS system.  The officer observed a group of three juveniles riding bikes in the area of Kent Street traveling towards Aspinwall Avenue.  The officer recognized one of the bicycles as the Brookline Police Departments “bait bike”. The officer activated his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop. The officer informed the individual riding the “bait bike” as to reason why he was stopped.  The subject then stated the bicycle was his friends. The suspect has been placed under arrest.

On July 26^th, officers responded to a local business on Beacon St. for a report of shoplifting in progress.  On scene, the store manager stated he observed the individual enter the liquor section of the store and pick up two bottles of liquor and concealed them underneath his jacket. The individual then proceeded to walking towards an MBTA bench and began running from the uniformed Officer that arrived on scene. The suspect was apprehended and has been placed under arrest.

July 23rd blog

On July 23rd officers responded to Englewood Avenue for a report of a breaking and entering. The victim reported that he came home to find out that the lock to his apartment had been tampered with and broken. After canvasing the apartment the victim noticed that only one personal item was missing. This matter is still under investigation.

On July 23rd officers were in the area of Longwood Avenue when an individual approached the officers stating their motorized scooter had been stolen. The victim reported that the scooter was stolen off the bike rack at the Longwood MBTA station. This matter is still under investigation.

7/20/2015-7/21/2015

On July 20th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Babcock St. for a past report of breaking and entering.  On scene, the officer talked to the victim who stated when she arrived home at her apartment, and the door was open. After further inspecting the door, she noticed that the door had been forced open by a screwdriver or crowbar and her bedroom had been rummaged through.  The victim reported missing several pieces of jewelry and a small sum of money.

On July 20th, officers were dispatched to Egmont St. to speak with a resident about a past larceny. The victim stated over the weekend she allowed one of her family friends to stay at her apartment.  On Sunday, the victim stated she awoke in the middle of the night and noticed her pocket book was open on the table. She reported missing her debt card and a large amount of cash.  The next morning, the victim noticed her bank account was drain and contacted the banking company to close the account. This matter is still under investigation.

On July 20th, officers received a fax from Norfolk Superior Court Probation that an individual had violated his probation and issued a warrant for his arrest.  Officers responded to the address listed on the probation warrant and were able to contact the subject.  The individual was advised of the probation warrant and was placed under arrest without incident.

On July 20th, officers were dispatched to an apartment on Park St. for a fight in progress.  On scene, officers spoke with the victim. The victim stated that one of his roommates was heavily intoxicated and eating the victim’s pineapple at the kitchen table. The victim asked if the pineapple was his and the roommate continued to eat.  The victim then removed himself from the kitchen and went to his room. Minutes later, the subject bangs on the victims door and yelled that there conversation was not finished.  The victim feeling confused about what his roommate meant, opened the door to talk. The intoxicated roommate aggressively pushed and shoved the victim.  The victim was able to free himself and leave the room. The subject has been placed under arrest.

On July 20th, an officer on patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in a parking lot off Washington St., which is usually empty at the particular time at night. The officer noticed the doors were wide open and two individuals a male and female appeared to be rummaging through the car. The officer pulled up behind the vehicle and noticed the vehicle was parked in the marked handicap spot without a visible placard. On scene, the male subject stated that they had just come from the beach and spilled root beer on the car and were attempting to clean it up. When the male subject was asked to produce identification he could not and became increasing nervous.  The officer then observed the woman quickly throw something under the vehicle. The officers then ordered the individuals to step away from the vehicle and searched for the object thrown, which he believed to be contraband.  The officer failed to produce any contraband under the vehicle; however he did notice in plain sight on the passenger side floor were syringes.  The officer then asked the owner of the vehicle if he could search the vehicle the male subject consented.  The search revealed a white rock like substance that believed to be cocaine based on the officer’s prior training and experience. The male individual was placed under arrest.

On July 21^st, an officer monitoring traffic at the intersection of Harvard St. and Beacon St. observed a sedan traveling southbound on Harvard St approaching the intersection. The vehicle took an illegal left hand turn heading eastbound on Beacon Street. The officer activated his overhead emergency lights and safely initiated a traffic stop and advised the operator as to the reason for the stop. The officer then asked the operator for his Driver’s License and the driver stated he left his wallet at home. The officer made a request for dispatch to run a driving history report on the operator, which revealed his license was suspended. The individual was placed under arrest.

On July 21^st, an officer conducting bicycle enforcement along Beacon St. noticed a vehicle attempting to travel the wrong way down Marion St., which is clearly marked as a One-Way Street. The officer whistled and yelled for the vehicle to pull over. The officer approached the driver and requested his driver’s license and registration. The operator produced a license from Moldova and stated his registration was at home. The officer ran a check of the registration and showed he did not have a valid driver’s license.  The driver was placed under arrest.

On July 21^st, an officer was dispatched to Beech Street for a report of Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a motor vehicle. On scene, the victim stated that she had parked the car in her driveway and left the car unlocked with her purse on the front seat. The following morning she noticed that her purse was emptied and several personal items were missing.

On July 21^st, an officer while on patrol observed an SUV containing three occupants on Beacon St. The officer noticed the occupant sitting in the passenger’s seat alerted the driver of the officer’s presence. The driver made an abrupt stop and pulled into a parking lane on Beacon St., which led the officer to believe the drivers behavior to be an example of nervousness. The officer to activated his emergency overhead lights to initiated a traffic stop. The officer advised the driver as to the reason for the stop and asked for a driver’s license and registration. The driver stated his license was suspended. The Brookline Police Dispatch confirmed the driver’s license was suspended and the individual was placed under arrest.

On July 21^st, an officer was dispatched to a local business on Beacon St. for a report of past larceny. On scene, the victim state she had left her wallet on her desk while she was working and realized it was missing after closing the store. The wallet contained several items including the victim’s personal identification, debt and credit cards.

On July 21^st, an officer was dispatched to Walnut Hill Rd for a report of a past Break and Entering and Larceny of a motor vehicle. On scene, the reporting person stated that her car was parked in her driveway at night. The next morning she noticed the vehicles glove compartment and center console was rummaged through. The victim reported missing a small sum of loose change and an electronic MP3 player.

On July 21^st, an officer was dispatch an apartment of Marshall St, for a report of an attempted larceny of a motorized scooter. On scene, the victim stated during the late afternoon she heard a horn beep, which was similar to the horn on motorized scooters.  The victim’s scooter was parked in the rear parking lot of her apartment and reported looking out the back window shortly after the horn beeped. The victim noticed the cover which she usually keeps on the scooter was off and the headlights were on. The victim did think the activity was suspicious but did not initially report the incident. When she arrived home from work the next day, she noticed her scooters ignition had been removed from the scooter and broken on the ground.  This matter is still under investigation. 

7/17/2015-7/18/2015

On July 18^th, officers were dispatched to a report of an intoxicated male who was passed out on the sidewalk on St. Paul St. On scene, both officers attempted to wake the male, and after several attempts the individual woke up. After being evaluated by paramedics, it was determined that his level of intoxication it was suggested to the individual he should be transported to an area hospital for further care. The subject refused medical attention and the officers explained that he should be placed into protective custody. At this moment, the subject took off and a foot pursuit ensued.  Once the officer caught up with the subject he became combative towards the officers. The subject was placed under arrest.

On July 18^th an officer observed a black sedan traveling southbound of Harvard St. without a valid inspection sticker.  The officer activated his overhead emergency lights and initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Harvard St. and Alton Place.  The officer advised the operator as to the reason for the stop. The officer then conducted a query of the driver, which revealed the he did not have a valid driver’s license.  The subject was placed under arrest.

On July 18^th, an officer was dispatched to John St. for a report of past larceny.  On scene, the victim stated that when she arrived home from work she noticed several items missing. These items included a cellphone, cellphone charger, video camera, jewelry, and a sum of money.  The victim stated that her housekeeper would usually come in on Thursday afternoons to clean the house.  However, the homeowner stated she was not even sure if was in the house Thursday. This matter is still under investigation.

On July 19^th, an officer was dispatched to Cypress St. for a noise complaint. Upon arrival, the officer could hear loud yelling and noise coming from an apartment. The resident of the apartment opened the door for the officer and explained her boyfriend and friends were visiting. The resident was issued a Town By-Law citation for excessive noise/loud party.

On July 19^th, an officer was dispatched to Walnut Hill for a report of a Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with victim who stated that she had parked her car, which was unlocked in her driveway. Later that night, she noticed some unknown person enter the vehicle  and rummaged through the glove box and center console. Nothing was reported missing.

On July 19^th, an officer was dispatched to Walnut Hill for a report of Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle.  The victim stated he parked his car in his driveway the night before and the next morning the car was rummaged through.  The car owner reported missing only a small of sum of loose change.

On July 19^th, an officer was dispatched to Goodnough Rd. for a report of Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle.  The victim state he had parked his car last night in his driveway and the next morning noticed the car was rummaged through.  The victim reported missing four pair of sunglasses and a small sum of money.

On July 19^th, an officer was dispatched to Sumner Rd for a past report of breaking and entering.  Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the victim who stated he went away for the day and arrived home the next morning to find the front door open ajar. Inside the apartment, most of the bedroom drawers were rummaged through; however nothing appeared to be missing.

On July 19^th, an officer was dispatched to 69 Park St. for a past Breaking and Entering of a storage unit. On scene, the victim stated he went down to his storage unit and noticed someone had unscrewed the lock to the door and took several items. These items included a bicycle, backpack, sunglasses and a sunglass case.

On July 19^th, an officer observed a black SUV traveling southbound on Harvard St. A random query of the vehicles registration with the officer’s cruiser laptop revealed that the car registered owner had a suspended driver’s license.  The officer activated his overhead emergency lights and safely initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Longwood Ave and Sewall Ave.  The officer then advised the driver as to the reason for the stop. The driver stated the vehicle was registered to him and he had a hearing to restore his license status.  Dispatch confirmed the operator’s license was suspended and the subject was placed under arrest.

On July 19^th, an officer was dispatched to Walnut Hill for a past Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle.  Upon arrival, the victim stated that his car was unlocked and parked in his driveway the night before. The next morning he noticed the center console and glove compartment were rummaged through.  The victim reported missing a small sum of loose change.

On July 19^th, an officer was dispatched to an alleyway on Babcock St. for a report of a person who was stabbed.  The victim who was injured was transported to a hospital. The other party involved was located a short while later on Osborne Rd. The subject was uncooperative and revealed very little about the incident. However, upon further questioning the subject revealed she discarded a bag on Naples Rd. that contained the knife used in the assault. The subject has been placed under arrest. 

7/14/2015-7/16/2015

July 14th Blog

On July 14th, officers were dispatched to a local business on Beacon Street for a report of a shoplifter exiting a store. The reporting person stated a young black male, wearing a white shirt, and sweat pants exited the store riding a bicycle on Harvard St. towards Brookline Village. Within several minutes, officers located and stopped a man matching the description of the subject riding a bicycle towards Brookline Village. The officers proceeded to asked where the man had been and the subject stated he had been shopping at the same business he was reporting shoplifting from. After further questioning, the man admitted to stealing a cellphone charger and case.  The officers on scene conducted a query of the subject, which revealed he also had two outstanding warrants. The subject has been placed under arrest.

On July 14th, officers were dispatched to the Coolidge Corner area following a report of shoplifting liquor at a local grocery store.  An individual matching the description of a man was found at the Coolidge Corner MBTA trolley station.  The officers approached the individual and could clearly see the stolen liquor in a bag sitting next to the man. A store employee that witnessed the shoplifting confirmed the identity of the individual. The subject was placed under arrest.

July 15th Blog

On July 15th officers responded to a report of a suspicious person on Beacon Street. Witnesses stated seeing an individual looking through of numerous vehicles. Witnesses described the individual and police searched the area to try and locate him for questioning. When the individual was located he gave officers contradicting answers as to his reasoning for being in the area. When the officers ran his name through the database they discovered the individual had two warrants in other areas. The individual was arrested.

On July 15th officers were dispatched to Beacon Street for a shoplifting incident. The store owner described witnessing the suspect walk into the store go to the back and take a bottle of wine and proceeded to walk out the store without paying for it. The store owner tried talking to her but she ran off and got into the passenger side of a car and drove off. This matter is still under investigation.

On July 15th officers were dispatched to Babcock Street responding to a report of a stolen bicycle at a home. The victim reported that the bike was leaning against the fence yesterday but today she noticed the bike missing. The victim has video surveillance of the house and provided a zip drive of video of when a possible suspect entered the property.

On July 15th officers were dispatched to Chapel Street for a report of a simple assault. Victim stated he was riding his bicycle when 3 individuals attacked him and pulled him to the ground and began punching him. The victim did not have a description of the suspects.  This matter is under investigation.

July 16th blog

On July 16th officers were dispatched to Fairbanks Street for a report of a breaking and entering. Victim reported returning to her house to find it had been rummaged through. Many personal items were stolen . This matter is still under investigation.

7/10/2015-7/13/2015

On July 10^th, an officer in his cruiser observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Harvard St. without a Massachusetts Inspection Sticker on the windshield. Upon this discovery, the officer queried the registration on the cruisers laptop which revealed that the vehicle did not have a valid inspection sticker.  The officer then proceed to make a traffic stop and advised the driver for the reason he was being stopped. The officer checked for warrant on the cruisers laptop, which revealed there was a warrant for his arrest in the state of Georgia. The subject has been placed under arrest.

On July 10^th, an officer was dispatched to a parking lot on Beacon St. for a report of a larceny from a motor vehicle. On scene, the owner of the vehicle stated his car was unlocked with the windows open while he was helping his friend move from his apartment. Upon arrival to his vehicle, the victim noticed his phone charger, prescription glasses and sunglasses were missing.

On July 10^th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Columbia Terrence for a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival, the victim stated that on 4/12/2015, while shopping at local business her cell phone was stolen from either her purse or jacket. She informed the store manager of the incident but did not report this to the police department. After receiving a new cellphone, she downloaded a cellphone app which located her old phone. The app pinned the cellphone at a residence in Southborough, Massachusetts. The officer contacted the Southborough Police Department and explained the situation to the dispatcher. Hours later, a Southborough Police Officer contacted the Brookline Police Department and stated the phone was found in an open field near the residence in Southborough Massachusetts. The victim has been contacted and will be making arrangements to retrieve the phone

On July 10^th, officers along with a detective were dispatched to a residence on Mason Terrace for an attempted breaking and entering. On scene, the homeowners stated that when they arrived home they discovered one of the spare bedroom windows had been opened. This was unusual because the couple rarely steps foot in that particular bedroom and do not remember opening the window. Nothing has been reported missing or damaged.

On July 10^th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Beacon St. for a past breaking and entering. On scene, the victim stated that the break occur while she was out running errands. While on scene, the officer observed the point of entry was through a kitchen window. The homeowner reported missing a sum of money which was removed from suitcase. A detective was called on scene to process the scene for fingerprints. This matter is still under investigation.

On July 11^th, an officer was flagged down on Harvard St. by Brookline resident. The resident stated her wallet was stolen after she bought tickets for a movie. The victim stated the wallet contained a U.S. Passport, money, a Charlie Card, two debit cards and one credit card. She stated a man sat next to her on a wall nearby the theater and engaged her in conversation and she believed a man was the one who stole the wallet.

On July 12^th, an officer was dispatched to an apartment on Beacon St. for a noise complaint. Upon arrival, the officer could hear music playing from the apartment. The officer then spoke with the resident and advised her of the complaint. The resident turned the music off and ordered to leave her guests to leave. The resident was issued a Town By-Law Ticket.

On July 12^th an officer was dispatched to Babcock Street for a report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the homeowner and advised the officer she had been away from the apartment for the day. When the victim returned home she noticed one of the bedroom windows was open and a lamp broken. The victim reported nothing was missing.

On July 13^th, an officer was dispatched to the area of Brook St. for a report of a stolen bicycle. On scene, the victim stated he locked his bike to a one-way sign on the corner of Brook St. and Perry St. When he returned the next day the cable lock that he used to secure the bicycle was still there but was cut and his bicycle was gone.

On July 13^th, an officer was dispatched to Monmouth St. for a past larceny of a package. While on scene, the officer spoke with the resident who stated the packaged she ordered was missing from her front patio. She stated she checked the tracking information and it was delivered on Saturday, July 11^th, 2015.  The officers advised the victim to contact the merchant and file a claim. 

7/7/2015-7/9/2015

On July 7th an officer was in the area of Commonwealth Avenue, when an individual on a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed drove passed the officer. The officer activated his police lights to try and pull over the individual but the motorcyclist continued traveling. Eventually the person pulled over and the officer conducted a frisk and search of the individual and the motorcycle and found marijuana paraphernalia. The individual was placed under arrest.

On July 8th Officers responded to an unknown disturbance at a residence in the area of High Street. Upon arrival officers encountered a man holding a trash barrel. The man motioned to throw the trash barrel at the officers but the officers subdued the man and placed him under arrest. Witness’s state after watching the man consume what they believed to be was alcohol he attempted to gain unwarranted entry to the residence.

On July 9^th officers responded to a report of tires stolen from a motor vehicle in the area of Harvard Avenue. The victim has a parking spot behind a building and after returning home from work the victim noticed there tires missing. The victim found her car on four milk crates. This matter is still under investigation.

On July 9^th an officer pulled over a vehicle as it did not have a valid inspection sticker. The officer explained to the driver of the vehicle the reason for the stop and the individual explained they knew it was expired; the officer also noticed the individual was not wearing a seat belt. The officer ran the individuals name in the database and it was determined that the driver and the owner of the car both had suspended and or revoked licenses. After noticing evidence of possible drug use the officer asked the driver if he had any drugs on themselves. The individual stated he had a drug problem and explained he had some in his jean pockets. The officer conducted a search of his person and found the drugs and also found illegal knifes on the person as well. The individual was placed under arrest.

7/4/2015-7/6/2015

On July 5^th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Park Street for a report of a breaking and entering. On scene, the officer spoke with the resident of the apartment. The resident stated that she had left for the holiday and arrived home late in the afternoon. Upon arriving, she noticed her apartment was ransacked and noticed check books and several electronic devices missing.

On July 5^th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Euston St. for a past Burglary. On scene, the residents stated they all left for the holiday weekend and returned Sunday. Upon entering, the residents noticed the apartment was in disarray and observed one of the windows was left open in the back of the bedrooms.  The residents reported missing several electronic devices and a wallet.

On July 5^th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Timon Avenue for a report of suspicious activity. On scene, the officer spoke with the residents who stated their dog alerted them to a bedroom door. Upon opening the bedroom door, the residence noticed the window air conditioning unit removed and a chair placed under the window.  The residents confirmed nothing was missing from the room.

On July 6^th, two officers responded to Boylston and Washington St. for a check on a well-being. On scene, the officers noticed a man sitting on his bicycle with his head down. The officers asked the man if he was sick and in need of medical attention. The man stated he was sleepy and felt dizzy but did not need medical attention. The officers then asked the subject for identification and transmitted the information to Brookline Dispatch to check to for warrants. Dispatch confirmed there was a warrant out for his arrest and the subject was arrested.  

On July 6^th, an officer assigned to the front desk of the Brookline Police Department was approached by a Park St. resident to report the theft of her bicycle. She stated her bicycle was placed in her locked basement the night of July 5^th, and noticed it was missing the following morning. There were no signs of forced entry and did not recall anything suspicious.

7/3/2015

On July 3, 2015, at approximately 0255 hours while assigned to the 541 Unit, I, Officer Daniel Lalli was dispatched to the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for a report of an armed robbery that had occurred in Brookline. Upon my arrival I was met by Sgt. George Emanuel of BIDMC Public Safety who stated that two male subjects had arrived at the emergency room at approximately 0240 hours and stated that they were robbed at gun point near St. Paul and Dummer St. in Brookline.

I spoke with the first victim, XXXXX, who stated the following: at approximately 0215 hours he was skateboarding along with his friend XXXXX, in the area of St. Paul and Dummer St. They were skateboarding in the street when a dark colored sedan turned on to Dummer St. and they stopped skateboarding to let the car pass. The car came to a stop and two black males approximately 5'8"-6'0" got out of the car and both pointed guns at them. XXXXX was immediately hit in the face with a gun 2-3 times at which point he fell to the ground. At this point XXXXX was ordered to the ground. XXXXX stated that he did not see what the suspects were wearing but that they were concealing their faces with bandanas, one colored red and the other black. XXXXX stated that the guns used in the attack were silver, he was unsure on the type of gun but thought that they were pistols. XXXXX Apple Iphone4 (colored white with a black case), black wallet, and black backpack with a City Year logo was taken. XXXXX wallet contained a Rockland Trust Debit and ATM card, and no cash. As a result of the pistol strikes to the head XXXXX had cuts on his forehead. The backpack contained keys belonging to XXXXX. Photos of the injuries were taken by the 551 Sgt. Sutherland. XXXXX stated that the suspects fled in the dark colored sedan from Dummer St. to St. Paul and took a right towards Beacon St. After they gathered themselves, XXXXX and XXXXX flagged down a Taxi at 900 Commonwealth Ave. in front of the CVS and were driven to the Beth Israel. XXXXX provided the name of the Taxi Driver, XXXXX, but did not know which company the driver worked for.

 I then spoke with the second victim, XXXXX. XXXXX summary of the events matched that of XXXXX. XXXXX added that when the two man exited the vehicle he could see that the vehicle was occupied by three individuals in the backseat, but could not provide any type of a description. XXXXX stated that the two black males were both wearing hoodies, "skinny" jeans, hats, and one was wearing a red bandana and the other was wearing a black bandana. XXXXX stated that the vehicle that the suspects were driving was black. XXXXX was unsure about what the guns looked like but stated that he thought they were silver in color and both pistols. XXXXX stated that the suspects took his Iphone 4 (black with a cracked front screen), his Apple Iphone headphones, and his house keys. XXXXX was uninjured during the robbery. At approximately 0240 hours, Sgt. Sutherland was flagged down by a citizen, XXXXX, who stated that he had found a wallet at St. Paul and Browne St. It was later found to belong to XXXXX. The wallet was found with XXXXX ID and Credit Cards still inside the wallet. The wallet was handled by both Sgt. Sutherland and XXXXX. The wallet will be placed into evidence locker number 17 for possible finger prints. At approximately 0350 hours while on patrol the 544 Unit, Officer Healy, found a backpack matching the description of XXXXX stolen backpack at XX Summit Ave. on the road. The bag has a City Year logo and keys inside. The bag also contains a scale and approximately 15-20 empty Ziplock baggies. The backpack will be placed into evidence locker 18. Photos were taken of the backpack at XX Summit Ave. by Sgt. Sutherland. It should be noted that at 0323 Hours a BOLO from Cambridge came in through Brookline Dispatch for two separate armed robberies that had occurred within the 0253- 0323 hours. Cambridge gave out a description of two black males who showed a gun and left in a black sedan which may have been a Lincoln. At 0326 hours Boston Police sent out a message over BAPERN which stated that there were two armed robberies that occurred within 30-45 minutes of the transmission. One of the armed robberies occurred at XXX Beacon St. and the other at Highgate and Harrison St. The description of the suspects in both robberies were two black males wearing hoodies, approximately 5'7"-6'0." At XXX Beacon St. the victim was pistol whipped. In both robberies two guns were shown, one of the guns were black and the other was silver. Due to the similar descriptions of the suspects there is a possible connection.

The victims gave a general description of the area they were in which made us believe it is very likely that the armed robbery occurred on Dummer St. between Pleasant St. and St. Paul St. but this is not confirmed.

 

Sgt. Sutherland filed a video request form for Beacon St. from St. Paul St. to Summit Ave as this seems like a possible route that the suspects took.

7/1/2015-7/2/2015

On July 1^st, 2015 officers responded to a breaking and entering at a apartment. The officers noted that entrance by the suspect was made through the rear window. While inside the suspect fumbled through the apartment looking for valuable personal property. The suspect left the premises through the back door. This matter is still under investigation.

On July 1^st, 2015 officers responded to a breaking and entering at a residence on Summit Avenue. Officers talked to the victims who stated on June 30^th, 2015 they went away on vacation and returned 

On July 1^st, 2015. Upon their arrival back home they noticed windows open and the back door was left open by the suspect. The victims stated that upon a search of their house they noticed valuable electronics and jewelry missing from their residence. This matter is still under investigation.

On July 1^st, 2015 an officer was driving on route 9 and observed a vehicle in the left turn only lane continue to travel straight. The officer pulled over the vehicle and after obtaining the driver’s license and registration entered it into the computer and noticed the driver’s license was suspended. The driver was placed under arrest.

On July 1^st, 2015 officers responded to a report of larceny in a building on Beacon Street. The victim works the front desk and helps check in patients for appointments. At 3pm on the day in question the victim noticed the item missing from the front desk. After the victim went through video surveillance the victim noticed a patient come up and reach over the desk and take the item and leave. The victim identified the suspect and after a criminal background check revealed numerous prior offenses, a warrant for the suspects arrest has been issued. This matter is still under investigation.

July 2^nd

At approximately 0025hrs police responded to a report of a hit and run motor vehicle accident. There were no injuries. The matter is still under investigation.

Police responded to a report of a larceny. The victim noticed their watch and cufflinks were missing. This matter is still under investigation.

At approximately 1000hrs a subject was placed under arrest for a default warrant on Beacon Street.

At approximately 1739hrs police responded to a report of a breaking and entering. The victim came home and found that the door was unlocked and the apartment was in disarray. The officer observed all drawers and cabinets were opened. This matter is still under investigation.

Police responded to an activation of a “bait bike”. The subject was placed under arrest.

6/30/2015

On June 30^th, an officer was dispatched to Wolcott Rd for a breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle.  On scene, the victim stated her vehicle was unlocked and items inside the vehicle had been rummaged through. She reported missing headphones and a small amount of loose change.

On June 30^th, an officer was dispatched to Newton St. for a residential alarm. On arrival, the officer noticed the basement window of the house was smashed.  The homeowner shortly arrived on scene and inspected the home and confirmed nothing was missing or damaged.

On June 30^th, an officer was dispatched to the Brookline Village T-stop to serve an arrest warrant. After confirming the identity of the suspect, officers moved in and placed him under arrest.  

On June 30^th, officers observed two suspicious subjects in the area of Cypress St. and Washington St. One of the officers noticed a large bag next to the individuals and due to recent burglaries in the town the officers approached and asked the individuals to identify themselves. Both of the individual’s information was given to dispatch to check for warrants. Dispatch confirmed one subject had an active warrant and was placed under arrest.

On June 30^th, an officer conducting traffic enforcement of West Roxbury Parkway observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.  The officer activated the overhead blue lights and stopped the individual.  The officer approached the driver and advised him of the reason for the stop. The officer then entered the license plate into the cruisers laptop, which showed the driver’s license was suspended. Dispatch confirmed the suspended status and the driver was placed under arrest. 

6/27/2015-6/29/2015

On June 27^th, officers were dispatched to a noise complaint on Strathmore Rd. On arrival to the residence, the officer could hear loud music and talking coming from the roof of the apartment building. The officers located the resident who was throwing the party. The guests were told to leave and the resident was advised and informed he was being cited.

On June 27^th, an officer was dispatched to a report of suspicious activity on Beacon St. On scene, the reporting party stated she heard a loud bang in the kitchen.  She stated the side door was cracked open and a wine bottle was on the floor.

On June 27^th, an officer was dispatched to a local business on Beacon St. for a report of malicious destruction of property. On scene, the reporting party stated the night before he locked the front door of the business. Upon arrival the next morning, the reporting party noticed the glass to the front door had been damaged.

On June 27^th, an officer was dispatched to Pleasant Street for a report of past residential breaking and entering and larceny of property. The suspect entered the residence through a back bedroom window which was unlocked. The suspect rummaged through the apartment opening drawers looking for items to take and the victims claim at this time only a camera and several lenses had been taken. This matter is still under investigation.

On June 28^th, an officer was dispatched to St. Paul Street for a report of malicious damage report. Upon arrival, an officer spoke with the reporting party who showed the officer the glass window panes on his door were shattered leading to his apartment. 

On June 29^th, an officer while patrolling Washington St. noticed a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker and proceeded to pull the vehicle over. The officer ran the vehicles registration and the results indicted the owner of the car had a warrant for his arrest. The owner of the vehicle was informed of his warrant and was placed under arrest.

June 25^th

At approximately 1449 hours, police responded to a report of a past larceny of a package.  The subject stated the package was expected to arrive between June 19^th and June 24^th. This matter is still under investigation.

At approximately 645pm Police responded to a report of a fraudulent use of a credit card. The victim noticed unauthorized activity on their credit card. This matter is still under investigation.

June 22^nd through June 24th 2015 Blog

On June 22^nd, 2015 an officer along with the assistance of two other officers responded to a report of a larceny of a bicycle. The bicycle that was stolen was part of the Brookline Police Department “Bait Bike” operation.  The bicycle which contained a GPS tracking device was place on a tree on Pearl Street. The Brookline Police Dispatched advised units that the “Bait Bike” GPS unit had detected movement and was traveling North Bound on Brookline Avenue. Officers responded to the area and an officer working on a construction detail on Brookline Avenue heard the broadcast over the radio for “Bait Bike” moving toward his area. Upon seeing the bicycle, the officer signaled for the subject to stop. Upon further questioning of the subject riding the bicycle, he stated he stolen the bicycle. The subject has been placed under arrest.

On June 23^rd, 2015, an officer covering the front desk of the spoke to a man that stated sometime on Friday, his bicycle light was stolen off his bicycle which was locked onto a fence on Harvard Street. This matter is still under investigation.

On June 23^rd, 2015, an officer observed a subject riding a bicycle on the sidewalk on Beacon St. which is a Town By-Law violation in Brookline. The subject led officers on a brief chase that ended on Longwood Ave, when he fell of his bike. While officers tried to detain the suspect, he became combative. After a brief struggle the officers were able to successfully but the subject in handcuffs. The individual and the officers did not receive any injuries during the brief struggle.  The subject has been placed under arrest.

On June 23^rd, 2015, an officer was dispatched to Heath Street for a past breaking and entering report. On scene, victim stated she had left her apartment for a couple of hours. When returning back to her apartment she noticed her backdoor was unlocked and window which leads to the front porch open and the screen removed. The victim reported nothing was stolen or damaged at this time. This matter is still under investigation.

On June 23^rd, 2015, an officer was dispatched to a local hospital to serve an arrest warrant to a subject being released from the hospital. The subject has been placed under arrest.

On June 23^rd, 2015, an officer was dispatched to Alton Place for a report of a past residential breaking and entering, and larceny of property. Once scene, the victim stated that the front door to her apartment was left wide open.  She also reported having her living room, bedroom, and daughter bedroom rummaged through. The victim also reported missing jewelry, loose change, and Mac laptop. This matter is still under investigation. 

6/19/2015-6/23/2015

On June 19^th, 2015 an officer was dispatched to Beverly Rd. for a report of larceny of motor vehicle Parts.  On scene, the reporting parties state that hubs of their cars aluminum wheels were missing. This matter is still under investigation.

On June 20^th, 2015 an officer traveling westbound on Beacon St. towards Harvard St. observed a vehicle make a right turn in front of the officer’s vehicle and cut in front of the another vehicle.  The officer ran the registration of the vehicle, which revealed the owner of vehicles was suspended. The officer made a stop on the corner of Harvard St. and Naples St. The officer confirmed the operated of the vehicle was owner of the vehicle.   The owner was placed under arrest.

On June 20^th, 2015 an officer while on patrol observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Harvard St. The officer conducted a random query of the vehicles registration with the cruisers laptop, which revealed the registered owner of the vehicle had a warrant for her arrest. The officer proceeded to make a traffic stop. The officer confirmed the operated of the vehicle was owner of the vehicle.  The subject has been arrested.

On June 20^th, 2015 an officer was dispatched to Winchester Street for a report of a larceny of a motorized scooter.  On scene, the reporting person stated she remembered noticing two individuals standing near the scooter the night before. The reporting person told the two individuals to keep it down because they were being loud outside of her apartment building.  She did not call the police that night because she believed the two individuals were the owners of the vehicle.  The following morning, the woman noticed the scooter was missing.  She noticed that the chain and helmet attached to the scooter were on the ground and immediately reported it.  The responding officer was able to locate the owner of the scooter, who confirmed the scooter was stolen. This matter is still under investigation.

On June 20^th, 2015 an officer was dispatched to St. Paul St. for a report of larceny. The reporting party stated she has received an email from a shipping company that a package had been delivered to her house.  After arriving home, the victim noticed that packages were not at the house and contacted the shipping company.  The shipping company stated the packages were delivered to the front door (inside the building).  This matter is still under investigation.

On June 21^st, 2015 an officer observed a suspicious motor vehicle stopped in the middle of the Newton St. with the engine running. The officer pulled behind the vehicle and flipped the lights on. The officer approached the vehicle and the driver opened the driver’s side window and the smell of alcohol was permeating from the vehicle.  The officer then conducted multiple field sobriety tests on the driver of the vehicle, which he failed. The officer then placed the subject under arrest.

On June 22^nd, 2015 an officer was dispatched to the corner of Blake Road and Somerset Road for a report of larceny. On scene, the victim stated that his phone was stolen. A friend at the scene state he was tracking the phone in the area of Blake Road.  This matter is still under investigation.

On June 22^nd, 2015 two officers were assigned to the Beacon St. and Pleasant St. traffic post.  One of the officers observed an individual who he believed to fit the description of an individual known to have outstanding warrants.  The officers confirmed with Brookline Police Dispatch that there were multiple warrants for the subject’s arrest.  This individual has been place under arrest.

On June 22^nd, 2015 an officer was dispatched to Sargent Rd. for a report of larceny of a bicycle.  The owner stated at the scene his bicycle was locked on a public bicycle rack on the corner of Harvard St. and School St.  This matter is still under investigation.

On June 22^nd, 2015 an officer was dispatched to the Washington Street for a report of a past larceny of a wallet.  The reporting party stated the she noticed her wallet missing after shopping in a local business. The owner of the wallet also stated she checked with employees an asked if they have picked up the wallet.  She received negative results. This matter is still under investigation.
