Armed Robbery:

Occurred on 11/28 at 8:15 PM – Buswell St. (Boston)

Brookline Dispatch broadcast a message to respond to St. Mary’s St. Boston University Police received a report for a robbery that had occurred on Buswell St. The victim stated he arrived home at 8:15 PM and was attempting to unlock his front door when a guy came up behind him and punched him in the back of his head. The victim turned around and noticed a can of pepper spray being held in his face. He shoved the pepper spray out of his face and when he did, the suspect proceeded to punch him in the face several times. Another suspect then entered the lobby and took his belongings, while a third was also present. The 3 fled southbound on St. Mary’s St. towards Beacon St. The three suspects were described as follows:

Officers Gustie, Tam, O'Neill, Kajita, Detective McDonnell Sergeant Ferris responded to the area to search for the suspects. BUPD officers located three subjects matching the descriptions on Amory St. They were arrested and charged with the crime of Armed Robbery. One of the suspects is additionally being charged with Unlawful Possession of Mace/OC, because he was unable to produce a valid FID card which would allow him to carry the OC Spray.

While the suspect was being transported back to the station, Kajita and Tam canvassed the area in an attempt to possibly locate the victim's property. A backpack was located in Amory Park, containing a sweatshirt and an iPod. The victim confirmed the iPod was his.

MV Crash:

Occurred on 11/28 at 6:35 PM – Coolidge Corner

An officer on patrol in Coolidge Corner observed a hit and run motor vehicle crash. Vehicle #1 was rear ended by Vehicle #2, which then proceeded southbound on Harvard Street without stopping. Officers were able to locate the fleeing vehicle and pulled it over right before Washington St.

The driver of the hit vehicle had an expired license and was issued a citation. The driver of the fleeing vehicle was cited with Leaving the Scene of an Accident/Property Damage and Failure to Stop for a Police Officer.

Occurred on 11/26 at 1:09 PM – Boylston St./Philbrick Rd.

Officers were dispatched for the report of a three car vehicle crash. According to the operator of Vehicle #3, he was traveling on Boylston Street when he rear ended Vehicle #2. The impact pushed Vehicle #2, into Vehicle #1. One operator was transported to the Brigham and Woman's Hospital for injuries.

Shoplifting:

Occurred on 11/27 at 2:38 PM – Star Marker (1717 Beacon St.)

Officers were dispatched to Star Market for a past shoplifting incident. The assistant store manager stated that there were two suspects that were using the "Self Checkout" machine to pay for their groceries. 15 minutes after the suspects left, Star Market staff discovered the "Self Checkout" machine they used still had the screen asking the customer for payment. Based on that information, the customers that used that machine never paid for their groceries. Surveillance video revealed the two suspects scanning all their items and then using a card to swipe on the credit card machine.

The suspects on the video consisted of a white male and white female. Both suspects appeared to be in their early 20's. The male suspect had black hair, and was wearing a gray sweatshirt and jeans. The female suspect had blonde hair, and was wearing a white tank top inside a gray sweatshirt, and jeans.

Star Market is attempting to identify the card user.

Occurred on 11/26 at 4:41 PM – The Gap (306 Harvard St.)

Officers responded to The Gap for a report of shoplifting. A Loss Prevention employee stated that he observed two females enter the store from the rear entrance, which he recognized as shoplifting in there previously. These two subjects went to the kid's section of the store. Suspect #1 distracted employees by asking help in finding certain items, while Suspect #2 proceeded to grab a number of clothing items. Suspect #2 then met up with Suspect #1 and placed the items into her bag. The two then attempted to leave the store, when the employee confronted them and asked them to remain in the store. Suspect #1 seemed to be compliant and pulled out five items that had been taken from the store. Suspect #2 grabbed the items from Suspect #1, handed the items back to the employee, and stated she would not be going anywhere with him. They both then left the store with five other items. They traveled west on Beacon St.

Suspect #1 is described as a black female, 5'9, 130lbs, with long straight black hair, and two "dot" tattoos under her left eye. She was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, grey jeans. She was carrying a large pink H&M bag and a grey purse.

Suspect #2 is described as a black female, 5'5, 120lbs, with long straight black hair, with angel wings tattoo on lower back. She was wearing a black jacket, orange t-shirt with white lettering, blue jeans, and brown boots. She was carrying a pink Victoria's Secret bag.

Several officers responded and searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.

The employee stated the Suspect #2 comes in frequently to shoplift, often times with others, and he believes that the group has stolen from other Gap stores in Copley Square, Faneuil Hall, Wellesley, and Chestnut Hill.

Occurred on 11/25 at 12:24 PM – CVS (730 Commonwealth Ave.)

The store manager reported that she observed a white male stealing items off the shelves in aisle 2 and then placing them into a backpack. The area where the suspect was stealing is mostly non-prescription cold medicine. As the suspect began to exit the store, the manager confronted the man at the front door. She noticed he had a small San Disk in his hand which she demanded back from the suspect, who complied with her request, and then left the store.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20's, 6 feet tall, close-cropped blond hair wearing a black puffy jacket, Gray T-shirt underneath, grayish jeans, sneakers and had a black backpack. He could not be located.

Malicious Damage:

Occurred on 11/27 at 11:40 AM – 1853 Beacon St.

Officers were dispatched to the rear of 1853 Beacon St. for a malicious damage report. The victims rent 3 parking spaces from the Chinese Christian Church, and recently they have noticed a pattern of nails puncturing their rear tires. The previous incidents were not reported, but occurred in November 2010, and July and twice in November of 2011.

The parking lot does not have any locking gates. The church does not have any surveillance cameras.

Occurred on 11/27 between 6:30-11:30 PM– Browne St.

Officers responded for a malicious damage report. The victim reported that while he and his wife were out, someone had sliced the child seat restraint straps on their stroller which they left in the lobby. He stated that a similar incident had occurred approximately 2-3 weeks previously, but they did not report it to the police. They left at 6:30 PM, and only one strap was cut from the previous incident. Upon returning at 11:30 PM, the second strap was discovered to be cut.

Occurred Overnight, 11/22 -11/23 – (1100 Beacon St.)

Officers were dispatched for a report of a hit and run crash. The victim stated her vehicle was stuck while parked in the rear of 1100 Beacon Street sometime overnight. There was a moderate size dent to the driver's side of the car, but no heavy scratches left on the vehicle or paint. It appeared to be damage from another vehicle that was attempting to park near her vehicle. The victim was advised to contact her insurance company.

Occurred on 11/23 – Brookline Ave.

The victim reported parking his vehicle at 6:30 AM and feeding the meter at 9 AM. He returned at 12 Noon to discover the passenger side mirror was damaged and the passenger side rear tire was slashed.

Larceny from Auto:

Occurred on 11/26 between 1:20-1:30 PM – 888 Commonwealth Ave.

Officers were dispatched for a B&E and Larceny from a motor vehicle. The victim works as a contractor and stated that his two vehicles were broken into and items were taken. He said that at approximately 1:20 PM, one of his workers went to retrieve something from one of the vehicles, and neither vehicle had been broken into at this time. Approximately 5-10 minutes had passed when the victim returned to this vehicle and noticed that the driver's side window of his van had been smashed and the GPS that was attached to the windshield was missing. A briefcase containing personal papers and his check book was gone, as well as some cash.

The GPS from the other vehicle was also gone, as were the owner’s manual and vehicle registration.

Larceny:

Occurred on 6:14 PM – Beaconsfield Rd.

Officers responded to take a larceny report. The victim stated that she had a package delivered by UPS and that it was stolen from her doorway. According to the tracking of the package, it was delivered at 3:38 PM, and it did not require a signature, so it was left in the doorway. The package contained a video camera.

Occurred between 11/17-11/25 – 1695 Beacon St.

Officers responded to a Laundromat to take a larceny report. On November 25^th, the owners attempted to retrieve quarters from some machines, but discovered none of the machines had quarters in them. They should have been full because they had seen people using the machines since they last time they collected the coins on November 17^th.

On November 28^th, the owners again attempted to collect the coins from the same machines, and again discovered that they were empty, when they should’ve been full from use over the weekend.

The family suspects someone has a copy of the master key for the coin box, because there were no signs of forced entry or damage to the machines. Machines with a different key for their coin box were not tampered with.

Occurred on 11/27 at 12:25 AM – Columbia St.

Officers were dispatched to Columbia St. for a larceny report. Victim #1 explained he had returned home from an evening out at approximately 12 AM. When he came home one roommate (Victim #2) was studying in the kitchen. Another roommate (Victim #3) was asleep in his room. Victim #1 put his 2 cell phones on the living room table and went up to bed. Approximately 20 minutes later, Victim #2 went up to his room, and returned downstairs at approximately 4 AM to discover his laptop was missing from the kitchen. He texted Victim #1 to ask if he took it while he was upstairs, and he said he did not. Victim #1 then came downstairs and discovered that the two cell phones he had left on the table before going upstairs were also missing. They also noticed that Victim #3’s piano keyboard was missing from its stand. Several more items were discovered missing, and one of the victims reported his house keys had been missing for awhile.

There were no signs of a forced entry and they believe all doors to the apartment were locked.

Occurred on 11/26 – J.P. Licks (311 Harvard St.) & T.J. Maxx (525 Harvard St.)

A larceny victim came into the police station to report that her bag was taken from the back of her chair while she was seated at J.P. Licks. She didn't realize her bag was missing until she was leaving. It contained cash, credit cards, and cell phones.

It was later discovered that the victim's credit cards were found in possession of 2 suspects arrested for a similar crime at T.J. Maxx (525 Harvard St.)

At 2:25 PM Dispatch received a call for units to respond to the area of 525 Harvard St., T.J. MAXX, for a larceny from a person. The victim of the pick pocketing called and gave the description of the vehicle the suspect fled in.

Boston University Officers were in the area of Park Drive and Buswell St. and were monitoring the broadcast of the description when the vehicle passed by them. They stopped the vehicle on The Fenway, with a male driver and a female passenger inside. The driver was discovered to have an expired non renewable operator's license. The operator and passenger were asked to exit the vehicle, and a pat frisk was conducted due to the vehicle matching the description of the vehicle in the robbery. Credit cards belonging to the victim of the larceny at JP Licks were discovered.

A show-up identification was conducted with the victim of the T.J. Maxx pick pocketing, and the male was positively identified. He was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle without a license, larceny from a person, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy. The female passenger was also arrested for larceny from a person, receiving stolen property, conspiracy, and possession of stolen credit cards.

Several more cards found to be belonging to the JP Licks’ victim were discovered in the vehicle under the driver’s seat.

Occurred on 11/23 – Panera Bread (888 Commonwealth Ave.)

An individual came to the police station to report she was the victim of a larceny. She state she was sitting at Panera Bread having lunch with her friends, and she placed her purse down by her side. When she was done with her meal, she noticed her purse had been stolen. During the meal, one of her friends noticed a black male with short hair and a birthmark on his cheek standing behind the victim.

The victim was in the process of canceling her credit cards, when she was notified that one of them was used at a CVS store.

Occurred between 11/20-11/22 –Kent St.

Officers responded to a radio call for a larceny report. The victims stated a purse was stolen from inside their room sometimes between Sunday and Tuesday mornings. Several important documents were inside the purse.

The only entry points to this room were through the front door and through the window. There was no damage to either of those locations.

The manager stated she spoke with her staff and nobody was inside this room during that period. There have been no other reports by residents of anything stolen from their rooms. There were surveillance cameras in the common areas of the building but not in front of this specific door.

Armed Robbery

Approximately 0300 hours today an armed robbery occurred in the Griggs road area. Victim states two Hispanic males, wearing dark clothes approached the victim. Victim was walking home as one suspect displayed a knife and the other displayed a hand gun. Victim was not injured but had several items taken and suspects fled on foot. Investigation is underway.

11/22-11/23

O.U.I.L Arrest

Occurred 11/23 at 12:18AM Harvard and Beacon
An Officer stops a vehicle for an equipment violation. The vehicle was not displaying both headlights. Further investigation revealed the subject had just left a Restaurant in Coolidge Corner. He was determined to be operating under the influence of Liquor. He was placed under arrest and his car was towed. He now faces the following charges.

Assault Charges

Occurred 11/22 at 143PM on Washington Street
Officers responded to an apartment on Washington Street, a reported unwanted person. There had been a dispute between the resident and the contractor doing work in the apartment. Apparently this dispute had lead to an altercation prior to the officers arriving. Officers investigated and found evidence to support summonsing both parties into Brookline Court for Assault and Battery.

MotorVehicle Accident
Occurred on 11/22 at 2:37 PM –Independence Drive
A three car accident resulted as one vehicle stopped to allow a pedestrian to cross the street. A vehicle in line failed to stop causing a chain reaction. One operator was taken to the Newton -Wellesley hospital for observation.

11/21-11/22

Attempted Larceny:

Occurred on 11/21 between 12:14 and 3:30 PM – Longwood Ave./Marshal St.

Officers were dispatched for an attempted theft of a package. The victim stated she came home and discovered her package had been rummaged through.

Inside the box the victim discovered a shipping form that was not associated with the package. The shipping form was from a package that was stolen from her roommate at the beginning of the month. It is unknown if the suspect dropped the old packing slip while rummaging through today's package or how it ended up inside that delivery.

Fire:

Occurred on 11/21 at 10 AM – Brook House (44 Washington St.)

Several fire units responded for a kitchen fire at the Brook House. A contractor who was doing work in the unit suffered a burn to his nose and was transported to the hospital. The cause of the fire is unknown.

11/17-11/18

Malicious Damage:

Occurred on 11/18 at 4:11 AM – Russell St./Harvard St.

Officer Vragovic was conducting overnight parking enforcement on Russell St. He observed a male subject walking southbound on Harvard St. towards his cruiser, wearing a backpack and carrying a skate board. As he approached the cruiser, he kept staring at it. Vragovic greeted the suspect, but he kept walking. Suddenly, he turned around and swung his skateboard at the cruiser, smashing the roof and the top of the driver’s door, creating a dent.

Vragovic exited his cruiser and gave the suspect verbal commands to put the skateboard down and to back away from the cruiser. The suspect became increasingly hostile, violent and aggressive. He raised his skateboard again and struck the back passenger window with it, breaking the glass. He swung his skateboard once again and broke the large, rear window of the cruiser. He ignored verbal commands to stop and continued walking down the street.

Additional units were called, while the suspect walked through the driveway of the Levine Chapel. He swung his skateboard and broke an accent light in the landscaped front yard, while continuing to ignore verbal commands. Sergeant Disario arrived on scene to assist, and he positioned his cruiser on Columbia St. at the left entrance of the Levine Chapel driveway to head off the suspect’s flight and prevent any further destruction of property.

The suspect struck Disario’s cruiser with his skateboard, denting the roof, and attempted to break two windows. He continued to smash the cruiser, when Disario observed an opportunity to safely apprehend him without injury. He was handcuffed and transported to the station.

He is charged with the following:

MGL 266:126A (1 count) Malicious Destruction of Property (light)

MGL 265:15B (1 count) Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon (Skateboard).

MGL 268:32B (1 count) Resisting Arrest.

MGL 274:6 (2 counts) Attempting to Commit a Crime (Larceny of Motor Vehicle (Maliciously Injure Vehicle))

A Criminal Complaint Form was completed and submitted to the Brookline District Court.

MV Crash:

Occurred on 11/17 at 8:38 PM – Hammond St.

Officers responded for a single motor vehicle crash. The operator of the vehicle stated that he had borrowed a friend's vehicle with her permission to go to the store. He was driving along Hammond Street towards Boylston Street when he observed an animal in the roadway and swerved in an attempt to avoid striking it. He skidded to his right and struck a tree. He continued to skid onto the sidewalk, striking the fence of a home on Hammond Street, as well as a cement light pole.

There were no reported injuries. The driver was issued a citation for Operating without a License.

Occurred on 11/17 at 8:25 PM – 1485 Beacon St.

Officers responded for a report of a 2 car crash in front of 1485 Beacon St. Vehicle #1 stopped to allow a pedestrian to cross the road, and Vehicle #2 stopped behind it. Vehicle #3 was unable to stop in time, and rear ended Vehicle #2. The operator of Vehicle #3 was cited for: Operating to Endanger, Not duly licensed to operate in the State of MA, and Operating an Unregistered MV.

Occurred on 11/17 at 6:58 PM – Beacon St./Marion St.

Officers responded to a vehicle crash. A traffic sign on the median across from 1418 Beacon Street was damaged. She was traveling westbound and attempted to take a left turn, thinking she was at the intersection, but went up onto the median and hit the sign.

There were no reported injuries.

Larceny:

Occurred between 11/14-11/16 – Lancaster Terrace

Officers were dispatched for a stolen bike report. The victim reported that two bikes were taken from an unlocked storage shed on the right side of the house. One was a 21 speed, royal blue older model women's bike, and the second was a boy’s bike described as being kelly green with a Scooby Doo decal on the front.

Occurred on 11/16 between 11 AM and 7 PM – Goldsmith Co. (1386B Beacon St.)

Officers responded for a reported larceny. A gold bracelet was taken that was housed in an unlocked glass display case in the rear of the store. The only unusual event during the day occurred at approximately 3 PM, when a subject entered the store inquiring about selling his gold necklace. There were two customers in the store being serviced, and he was asked to wait. He sat on a stool in the rear of the store, directly in front of the glass case where the bracelet was displayed. After a short period of time, he stood up and exited the store.

The subject is described as a thin white male, 20-23 years old, with short brown hair, wearing a long light brown coat with a hood.

11/16-11/17

Warrant:

Occurred on 11/16 at 4:45 PM – Boylston St.

Officer Kajita was monitoring traffic at approximately 201 Boylston St when he observed a vehicle pass by his location. He noticed the registration sticker had an yellow '11 sticker, and queried the plate on his cruisers' laptop. It came back with a expired non-renewable status. Additionally, the registered owner had an active arrest warrant out of Woburn District Court for Failure to Appear for Jury Duty.

A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver was placed under arrest for the straight warrant issued out of Woburn. She was also issued a citation for Operating After Expired Registration, and an Expired Inspection.

Larceny:

Occurred on 11/16 at 1:50 PM – Starbucks (277 Harvard St.)

Officers responded to Starbucks to take a larceny report. The victim stated that she arrived at Starbucks, placed an order and became seated at a table at approximately 11:15 - 11:30am this morning. While seated, she had her purse hanging over the back of her chair while she remained seated and working on her computer. At approximately 1:45pm, she realized her bag was no longer on her chair. She looked around the area and in the bathroom and then notified the staff prior to calling the Police. She stated that she had not left the table at any time and did not observe any suspicious activity while seated. Surveillance footage is being obtained.

Burglary:

Occurred on 11/16 at 11:44 AM – Chestnut St.

Dispatch received a call for a breaking and entering in progress. The caller stated that she observed a black male, approximately 5'10" in the rear lot of the building complex. She stated that she observed this male subject looking in her windows which are ground level. She described the male subject as possibly in his twenties, wearing a black jacket, a black baseball hat (no writing or insignia observed), blue jeans and carrying a black backpack. She then observed the male subject walk alongside the building and down the driveway that is along the side of the building leading out to Chestnut Street. She then stated the male subject entered the front of the building through the front door which was not fully secured.

A few minutes later, the caller heard the sound of tools and banging. She stated that it sounded like the door was being slammed against maybe with a shoulder. As she was on the telephone with dispatch, an officer arrived on scene, and as he rang the buzzer, she stated she heard the back door of the building close.

Several units responded to the area. A basement apartment was discovered to have been broken into. Several pieces of jewelry were reported missing. A follow up is being conducted by the detective division.

11/15-11/16

Larceny:

Occurred on 11/15 at 4 PM – Vintage Jewelry Gifts Antiques (1382B Beacon St.)

Officers were dispatched for a larceny report. An employee stated she noticed that a decorative tree item that was holding 8-10 pairs of diamond earrings was missing from behind the front counter. She remembers a woman, unknown description, trying on hats right in front of the diamond earrings before they went missing. A follow up by the Detective Division was requested.

Shoplifting:

Occurred on 11/15 at 6:18 PM – CVS (730 Commonwealth Ave.)

Officers O’Neill, Avila, and Tam were dispatched for a shoplifting in progress. The suspect was a black male who was wearing a black hoodie and a hat and was stealing toothpaste. The suspect was quickly located in front of the store and identified by the store manager. Advil was discovered on him as well, and it was later found to have come from the CVS at 900 Commonwealth Ave.

He was placed under arrest for 2 counts of shoplifting.

Occurred on 11/15 at 4:45 PM – Stop & Shop (155 Harvard St.)

Officers Weinstein and Jennings were dispatched to the Stop & Shop for a reported shoplifting. The store manager stated that he witnessed the suspect conceal 2 boxes of Nyquil under his jacket, then pay for 2 bottles of juice. The suspect then attempted to leave the store with the Nyquil, but was stopped by the manager prior to leaving. He was placed under arrest for shoplifting, and was issued a verbal no trespass order.

B&E of MV:

Occurred Overnight, 11/14-11/15 – Gibbs St.

Officers responded to take a report of a B&E of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that she parked her car at approximately 4 PM on Monday, 11/14. When she went out to the car on 11/15 at 10:45 AM, she noticed the front passenger side window was smashed and the glove compartment was opened with all of its contents spread around the front seat of the vehicle. Nothing appeared to be missing. The center console appeared untouched and her change purse was inside and untouched.

MV Crash:

Occurred on 11/15 at 3:30 PM – Beacon St./Hawes St.

Officers responded for a MV crash. A cab driver stated he was traveling straight ahead and stopped for traffic when he was rear ended.

The driver of the other vehicle stated she was traveling straight ahead when the cab driver suddenly slammed on his brakes. She quickly applied the brakes and attempted to stop, but lightly tapped the taxi, causing no damage.

The cab driver was issued a citation for Failure to Use Care when Stopping.

Town Meeting Article 8 Passes

Last night at the Town meeting, warrant article 8 passed. This article was authored by Chief O'Leary and regarded fingerprinting as part of the application process for several Town licenses. The passing allows the Police Department to conduct instate as well as out of state background checks based on fingerprints. The department feels this piece of legislation will allow it to further enhance it's mission of providing public safety in a more proactive manner.

11/14-11/15

OUID:

Occurred on 11/15 at 3:22 AM – Washington St./Juniper St.

Officer Brother observed a vehicle travel through a red light at the intersection of Washington and High Street. A motor vehicle stop was effected on Washington by Juniper Street.

Through conversing with the driver, the officer noticed his eyes were bloodshot, and he detected an odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle. When questioned, he stated that his eyes were bloodshot from allergies.

After further investigation, the driver was determined to be operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, specifically marijuana. He was arrested and charged with:

B&E of MV:

Occurred on 11/14 at 6:20 PM – Centre St.

Officers responded for a report of a past Breaking & Entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that at approximately 6 PM, she had encountered an unknown person in her vehicle. The car had been parked in her driveway, and she observed a male party sitting in the front passenger area. Upon observing the victim, this person fled onto Fuller Street, taking a left toward Winchester Street. She was unable to get a good look at the suspect due to it being dark outside, but believed that the suspect was possibly a Hispanic male, medium build, wearing a dark blue jacket and light-colored pants.

She reports that approximately $7.00 was taken from the center console of the vehicle, and it also appears that the suspect had attempted to remove the car-stereo from the dashboard.

Occurred on 11/14 at 1:45 PM – Winthrop Rd.

A person came to the station to report a past breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated she parked her vehicle on Winthrop Rd. at 1:45 PM. She left a black nylon bag in the rear seat of the vehicle while she went into her residence, and when she returned ten minutes later, the bag was missing from the vehicle. It contained several important personal papers as well as her wallet.

Larceny:

Occurred on 11/14 – Linden St.

Officers were dispatched for a larceny report. The reporting party stated that she hired a contractor to perform some exterior work to her home. She voluntary left the rear door unlocked so the workers could enter the house and use her bathroom.

She left her house at approximately 9:45 AM, and returned home at approximately 1:35 PM. She observed an item lying on her bed that should have been in a jewelry box, and then noticed that several pieces of jewelry were missing.

A follow-up investigation is being conducted by detectives.

Occurred between 11/7-11/9 – Centre St.

Officers were dispatched for a larceny report. The victim stated that he started moving into his apartment on 11/7/11, and moved a wood framed mirror. Upon coming back on 11/9/11 to move in the rest of his belongings he noticed the mirror missing.

There was no sign of a break at the apartment.

MV Crash:

Occurred on 11/14 at 12:48 PM – Washington St./Holden St.

Officers were dispatched for a crash report. Vehicle #1 was approaching the stop sign at Washington Street, where Vehicle #2 was adjusting its position into a parking space. It pulled forward at an angle, making contact with Vehicle #1.

Vehicle #1 sustained damage to the passenger side of the vehicle. Vehicle #2 sustained significant damage to the front bumper.

Occurred on 11/14 at 9 AM – Cypress St./Boylston St.

Officers were dispatched to the area for a 3 car property damage crash. The operator of Vehicle #1 alleges that she was in the middle lane when the operator of a dump truck struck her vehicle in the left rear from behind and forced her into a parked vehicle.

The operator of the dump truck alleges that he was in the left turn lane attempting to turn north onto Cypress St. He said he felt something hit the rear of his vehicle. He looked in the right side mirror and saw Vehicle #1 bounce off of his truck and hit the parked vehicle.

The operator of the parked vehicle said that the dump truck was in the left turn lane. Vehicle #1 was behind the dump truck attempting to pass. It then made contact with the truck and struck the parked vehicle.

Based on the evidence presented the operator of Vehicle #1 will be issued a citation for a marked lanes violation, improper passing, and a failing to use care while passing.

11/11-11/14

Recover Stolen MV:

Occurred on 11/14 at 3:15 AM – Beacon St./Hawes St.

Officers Kajita and Hill were conducting overnight parking enforcement on the inbound side of Beacon St. Their attention was drawn to a vehicle that passed their position at a speed that they estimated to be greater than the speed limit. Upon querying the license plate on the cruiser's laptop, they were notified that it was a stolen vehicle out of Quincy on 11/1.

They began following it in order to confirm the plate. The vehicle was observed going through a red light, and officers tried to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop, and Officer Vragovic was called to assist. The vehicle finally stopped on Whittier St. in Boston, where two subjects jumped out and ran towards the Whittier Playground.

A foot pursuit began on Ruggles St towards Tremont St. One suspect entered a building, and another continued running down the street. Regardless of verbal commands to stop running, the second suspect refused, and he was eventually tackled to the ground at the intersection of Ruggles St. and Tremont St.

The first suspect was chased into a building and was located hiding in the shadows on the top floor. He was placed into handcuffs without incident.

MV Crash:

Occurred on 11/13 at 4:59 PM – Coolidge Corner

Vehicle #1 was travelling south on Harvard St approaching Beacon St in the left lane marked with a straight arrow. Vehicle #2 was travelling south on Harvard St approaching Beacon St in the right lane marked with a straight arrow and right turn arrow. In an attempt to pass turning traffic, Vehicle #2 performed an improper lane change across a solid white line making contact with Vehicle 1 in the left lane.

The operator of Vehicle #2 was issued a citation for Improper Lane Change/Marked Lanes Violation. No injuries were reported.

Malicious Damage:

Occurred between 11/4-11/11 - Beacon St./Powell St.

Officers responded to the area for a report of damage to a motor vehicle. The concierge of the building noticed the damage to the vehicle on 11/11. The owner had been out of state since 11/4. The driver's side window appeared that it had been hit with some type of object causing it to have several cracks. The window was starting to break apart.

No other vehicles were damaged inside the garage.

Larceny:

Occurred between 11/7 and 11/10 – Station St.

A victim came to station to report a larceny. He stated that several electronics had been stolen from his apartment between 5:00 PM on 11/7 and 5:00 PM on 11/10. He was in the process and moving, and left his belongings in his apartment and his door unlocked.

Drug Offenses:

Occurred on 11/12 at 5:45 PM – Pearl St./Village Way

Detective Lt. Lipson observed a subject known to him from previous arrests as a heroin user and buyer. He was observed walking towards a pick-up truck that was occupied by a male and a female. The subject initially spotted was observed exiting the vehicle less then two minutes after he had gotten in. The detective believed a drug transaction had just occurred, and he followed the vehicle onto Brookline Ave., where it failed to signal, and he was able to initiate a traffic stop. Additional units were radioed to stop the subject who had left the vehicle.

After further investigation, the 3 suspect were arrested and will be charged with the following:

-Conspiracy to Violate Substance Abuse Act M.G.L. 94C s40

-Possession of Class A M.G.L. 94C s32

-Possession of Class B M.G.L. 94C s32A

-School Zone Violation M.G.L. 94C s32J

Taxi Fare Evasion:

Occurred on 11/12 at 4:10 AM

A cab driver came into the front lobby to report a cab fare evasion. He picked up a fare on Arlington St. in Boston who requested to go to Freeman St. Upon their arrival, she stated she would have to go to her apartment to get money, and left her purse with her passport with the driver. He waited for 30 minutes, during which she did not return.

Her purse, passport, and a receipt for the fare were submitted into evidence.

Burglary:

Occurred on 11/11 – New Terrace Rd.

Officers responded to New Terrace Rd. for a report of a past B&E. The victim reported leaving her apartment at 4 PM, and when she returned at approximately 5 PM, she discovered that someone had broken in and stolen her safe.

It appears that entry into the building was gained through the rear ground-level door. A neighbor reported hearing the safe being moved down the rear staircase at approximately 4:30 PM, but she believed it was the victims who had been moving it. Shortly thereafter, the neighbor looked out the rear window, and observed a mid-sized U-Haul box-truck parked in the rear of the building. It is possible that this truck was used to transport the stolen safe.

Occurred on 11/11 – Heath St.

Officers received a call for a past break on Heath St. The victims had left their apartment at approximately 9 AM and returned at 11 AM to find the front hallway door open and their apartment door open. Their daughter was sleeping in her bedroom during this time frame and did not hear or notice anything.

It appeared that the suspect had used a small hard object, possibly a screwdriver to force his/her way into the hallway and apartment, as there were fresh "jimmy" marks on the door frame of both doors. Several rooms appeared to have been rifled through. A necklace and cash were reported missing.

11/10-11/11

MV Crash:

Occurred on 11/10 at 7:04 PM – Westbourne Terrace/Beacon St.

Vehicle #1 was traveling on Westbourne Terrace towards Beacon St. As it was crossing, Vehicle #2, traveling on the right lane of Beacon St westbound, made contact. This caused Vehicle #1 to turn 90 degrees and make contact with a parked vehicle. There were no injuries reported.

Occurred on 11/10 at 6:34 PM – Washington St./Boylston St.

Vehicle #1 was travelling south from Washington St. across Boylston St. onto High St. Vehicle #2 was travelling in the breakdown lane of Boylston St. (eastbound) attempting to take a right onto High St. Vehicle #2 struck Vehicle #1, as Vehicle #1 was travelling onto High St. Vehicle #1 had a green light and Vehicle #2 had a red light according to a witness.

11/9-11/10

Disorderly Person:

Occurred on 11/10 at 11:50 AM – Elm St./Davis Ave.

Captain Thomas Keaveney was working a police detail when he witnessed an individual assault three gas company workers while they were digging on Elm Street. The man pushed and grabbed these crew members, at the same time yelling that he would not allow them to work in front of his home. When Keaveney stepped in to stop him from physically assaulting these men, he continued to berate them for 5 to 10 minutes. Keaveney tried repeatedly to reason with him while restraining him, but it was clear that he would not stop interfering or assaulting this crew.

While being escorted to the corner of Davis Avenue, the man was restrained because he was aggressive and clenching his fists, clearly indicating he meant to strike. He continued to yell, threatening to return to the crew if he could, and then began kicking Keaveney in the legs and tried to knee him in the groin.

The individual was placed under arrest for 2 counts of Assault and Battery on a Police Officer and Disorderly Conduct.

Traffic Arrest:

Occurred on 11/9 at 6:10 PM – Coolidge Corner

Officers Davis, Inchierca, Tam, and Captain Myles Murphy were conducting bicycle enforcement in the area of Coolidge Corner. A cyclist was observed on Harvard St., traveling northbound, crossing the eastbound side of Beacon St. against the red light, and then waiting at the median for a green light. An ambulance was coming, with lights and siren, westbound on Beacon St. and officers held the traffic until it went by.

As traffic began to move, an officer stepped into the right-hand lane and motioned for the bicyclist to pull over. Instead, the cyclist went out into the left lane of traffic. The officer yelled "Pull Over!", and the cyclist yelled back, "No!”, shaking his head from side to side and continuing to cycle. A pursuit began. The cyclist was passing the stop-and-go rush hour traffic at a fast pace, weaving in-and-out without utilizing hand signals. Vehicles were avoiding the cyclist, as the actions by the bicyclist caused a public inconvenience and hazardous conditions. The sirens were activated and the bike continued to fail to stop.

The officer was finally able to cut in front of the cyclist just before Thorndike St. He finally complied and got off his bike to speak to the officers.

He was placed under arrest for Red Light Violation, Refusing to Stop and Identify himself To a Police Officer, being a Disorderly Person, and several Municipal Bicycle Violations.

B&E:

Occurred on 11/9 – Mason Terrace

Officers were dispatched to take a report of a Breaking and Entering and Larceny of Property. The victim stated that she had left her apartment at 9:15 AM and her roommate had left a short while later at approximately 9:45 AM. The victim returned at 7 PM, and when she went to open her front door she was unable to due to the security chain being latched from the inside. She was able to make entry and discovered that her unit had been broken into. 2 computers, 2 cameras, loose change, and earrings were missing.

B&E of MV:

Occurred Overnight – Vernon St.

A victim reported that some time between 8 PM on 11/8, and 5:55 AM on 11/9, her passenger side front window of her vehicle was smashed. Her GPS was stolen.

Larceny:

Occurred between 11/8-11/09 – Aspinwall Ave.

Officers were dispatched to take a larceny report. The victim stated that his Riley Grand Pre ten speed bike, red in color, was taken from outside his residence. He stated that he chained his bike to the pole outside his house on 11/8/11 around 8pm, and upon coming out yesterday, he noticed it missing.

MV Crash:

Occurred on 11/7 at 10:35 AM – Fisher Ave.

An officer on police detail on Fisher Ave. had his vehicle parked facing northbound when he observed another vehicle traveling on Fisher Ave from Clinton Rd towards Dean Rd in the wrong direction (posted temporary one way due to construction). There were barricades clearly positioned at the intersection of Clinton Rd and Fisher Ave preventing vehicles from accessing the road. The driver intentionally avoided the barricades and accessed Fisher Ave. She was instructed to turn her vehicle around and travel back towards Clinton Rd. With adequate room to turn the vehicle around, she instead put her vehicle in reverse and began to back up while still looking forward through her front windshield. She traveled approximately 75 feet in reverse, never looking back or using her mirrors, until she struck the officer’s parked truck in a rear-to-rear collision.

There were no injuries or charges at this time.

Occurred on 11/7 at 6:42 AM – Beacon St./Kent St.

Officers responded for a report of a traffic light sign knocked down. A trolley control signal was knocked off its base and laying approximately four feet into the roadway. No witnesses presented themselves. There were residual tire marks that indicate the vehicle was a double axle vehicle, most likely a box truck or a semi-trailer truck.

Receiving Stolen Property:

Occurred on 11/7 – Bradford Terrace

An officer on patrol was flagged down by a victim who stated that one of his bikes was stolen. A bike was found next to the house that he said was not his. The unknown bike was a gray Bounty Quasar mountain bike. The missing bike was described as a yellow specialized hard rock sport mountain bike.

At about 11:40 AM on 11/8, the victim called because he spotted his stolen bicycle at 1309 Beacon St. (Game Stop). When the officer arrived, the suspect was pointed out to him riding the bike. He then took off travelling south bound on Harvard St. on the bike.

A pursuit began. He was finally apprehended at the intersection of Pleasant St. and John St. He was questioned on the origins of the bike. He stated that he had asked his friend for a bike earlier in the morning, and that he had given him the bike. The suspect stated that he did not know his friend’s last name, address or phone number, and that he did not know that the bike was stolen. He stated that he ran away because he got scared.

The bicycle was released into the owner’s possession.

Officers also stopped two individuals who were observed with the suspect at the Game Stop. They were also on bicycles, which they stated belonged to the suspect. When the suspect was asked about the bikes, he stated that they belonged to the two individuals. The bikes were confiscated and brought back to the station for safe keeping.

The suspect will be summonsed to court for Receiving Stolen Property under $250.00.

Hit & Run:

Occurred on 11/8 at 2:20 PM – Vernon St. /Harvard St.

Officers responded for a reported hit and run motor vehicle crash. The parked vehicle that had been hit suffered significant damage to the majority of the driver's side of the vehicle.

The suspect left a name, telephone number, and license plate, however the plate did not yield any matching results.

Larceny:

Occurred on 11/7 – Pine Manor College

A student reported going to the common room at 9:30 PM and noticing the flat screen television was missing. The mounting bracket was also unscrewed and taken.

A Coolidge Corner traffic stop for “no turn on red” violation resulted in the operator being arrested for operating on a revoked license.

A Washington Square traffic stop for an expired registration lead to the operator receiving two citations. One for the Registration being expired and the other for Possession of Less Then One Ounce of Marijuana (C.94C,s.32L)

A larceny of a bicycle was reported at Brookline High School. The owner reports he locked his bike in front of the Adult Ed entrance and when he returned the bike was gone. The bike is described as a Schwinn Ranger 26" men's bike, dark gray with some orange in front.

11/07/2011

Credit card fraud / misuse of a credit card reported by a resident of Greenough Street. The card was used between 08/10/11 through 11/07/11 totaling almost $240.00. The Victim contacted company canceled the card. Detectives are investigating this crime.

11-7-2011

A well being check of a female subject turned into an arrest. During the well being check it was determined that the subject had an outstanding warrant for trespassing out of Cambridge court. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to the station.

11-07-11

A Coolidge Corner traffic stop for an expired inspection sticker turns into an arrest. The Operator was found to be operating on a suspended license and also that had three outstanding arrest warrants.

On 11/07/11

At 0852 hours Officers responded to Walnut St. to investigate a larceny report. Victim reported that her bicycle had been stolen from the front porch. She reported that the bike was stolen on 11/5/11 sometime between 1930 hours and 2100 hours.

The bike is described as a Trek, girl’s style, with a battery powered taillight attached to the rear of the bike by gray duct tape. A black kryptonite lock is wrapped around the front handle bars. Under investigation.

11/3-11/4

Disorderly Conduct:

Occurred on 11/4 at 2:57 AM – Washington Square

Officers responded for a report of a disturbance outside of the Golden Temple restaurant. Upon arrival, they discovered 4 males, one of whom was intoxicated. He was loud and unruly, and was challenging any passerby on the street to a fight.

The 3 other males reported the intoxicated male approached them for a lighter, and then caused a scene when he was unable to obtain one.

He was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct.

Larceny:

Occurred on 10/28 – Woodland Rd.

Officers responded for a reported larceny. The victim stated that several weeks ago she placed an order on-line from Neiman Marcus. When the package didn’t arrive, she called them and they informed her that Fed Ex delivered the package at 4:12 PM on October 28^th. The victim believes her package was stolen.

Occurred on 11/3 at 3:42 PM – Stop & Shop (155Harvard St.)

Officers responded for a call of shoplifting that had occurred. A description was given out of a dark colored vehicle taking a right on Harvard St out of the parking lot of Stop & Shop, and the license plate was obtained.

The manager stated that a white male in his early twenties had approached the counter and wanted to return a box of Swiffer cleaners. After giving the suspect the cash back, the manager felt something was wrong, and so followed him into the parking lot to obtain a license plate number. He then went to the aisle where the cleaning products were and realized that there two boxes of Swiffer cleaning products were missing. The suspect was also observed on surveillance video leaving the store with two cleaning boxes and a brown bag with unknown items in a shopping carriage.

The query of the vehicle registration was run, and a copy of the video is being provided.

11/2-11/3

Larceny:

Occurred on 11/2 at 2:30 PM – Rubin’s Deli (500 Harvard St.)

Officers responded to the area for a man that had run out on his bill at Rubin’s deli for a huge catering order. He was described as a white male wearing a green army jacket and khaki pants, and was running down Russell St and being chased by an employee. Officers located a male matching the description.

He was asked where he was coming from, and he stated he was just chased by the manager from Rubin's. He was sweating profusely and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was coming from him. He stated he was planning on paying for the goods with his credit card. While inside waiting for his order, he became upset and decided he didn't want the order anymore and left the store. He was then chased out of the store by the manager and was told to stop. He appeared agitated and kept saying he didn't like the way they were talking to him in the deli. He didn't have any cash on him, but stated he was going to pay for the deli meat, with his credit card.

After further investigation, the male was placed into protective custody.

Occurred on 10/26 – Washington St./Kent St.

Officers took a larceny report. The victim stated she ordered clothes from Express.com approximately two weeks ago. After she had not received the package, she contacted the postal service, who stated that the package had been delivered on Wednesday, 10/26/2011, at 12:30pm, and was left outside. She arrived home at 5:30pm, and the package was not there.

11/1-11/2

Larceny:

Occurred on 11/1 at 9 AM – Dummer St./Amory St.

An individual stated she had her wristlet stolen from her purse this morning, and her credit card was used fraudulently in Watertown at the Filene’s.

She parked her car on Amory St. around 9:00am at a meter between Commonwealth Ave and Dummer St., and used change from her wristlet to pay for it. She then placed it back in her purse and walked towards home. Near the intersection of Dummer St. and Amory St., the victim remembered bumping into a man and a woman who were together. She could not provide a detailed description of either party except the male was in his late 20s to 30 years of age, and the female was wearing a winter ski hat with ear flaps.

When she arrived at work she realized her wristlet was missing. She contacted her bank and learned that her that her credit card had been used fraudulently. Filene’s is working on retrieving a surveillance video.

Occurred on 10/31 – Lowell Rd.

A town employee who works at the high school reported parking his vehicle at 6 AM. When he returned at approximately 2:45 PM, he noticed the front plate had been removed. The screws holding the plate to the vehicle were broken in half and still attached to the vehicle, indicating that the plate had been forcibly removed. No other damage had occurred to the truck.

Forgery:

Occurred on 10/31 at 2:30 PM – Harvard St./Vernon St.

A bank teller reported that an individual attempted to cash a check at the bank. The teller felt something was odd about the check so she contacted the issuing business to confirm it was real. The individual then demanded the check back and left with it. The business called the bank back and confirmed that the check was a fake, and that the original check had been issued to someone else. The suspect is being summonsed for Forgery and Uttering.

Larceny of a Bike:

Occurred Overnight: St. Paul St./Beacon St.

A victim reported her bicycle missing. She had locked it to the pole with another bicycle at approximately 6 PM yesterday. When she returned this morning, the bicycle and wire combination lock were gone. The bicycle is an older model male Centurion bicycle, white in color and has blue lines along the tube. The handle bar is wrapped with white tape and is the older 10 speed bicycle style handle bar.

Fraud:

A fraud victim reported getting a demand notice from a collection agency. She learned that 5 cell phones had been activated over the internet and that her name was used for the account info. A fraud investigation is being done by the collection agency.
