Arrests:
Occurred at 5:11 PM (3/17) – Beacon Street
Officers were assigned to follow up on a past breaking and entering of a motor vehicle that occurred on 3/14/2011. Upon arrival officers spoke with the vehicle owner. The victim stated that a bag had been left in the motor vehicle and when returning home he realized the wallet from that bag was missing. As a follow up, officers arrived at the local store where transactions had been made according to the missing credit card statements. The store manager showed video footage of the two men that were seen using the credit cards. Police obtained a brief description of the suspects and the vehicle they were driving. While officers were conducting details on Winchester Street three days later, one officer recognized the vehicle and did a registration check. Although the traffic stop could not be done at the time, the names of the individuals were revealed. A short while later, another officer spotted the suspected vehicle again. The vehicle made an illegal left turn and the officers conducted the traffic stop. Upon interviewing the suspect during the traffic stop officers learned that the suspects driver’s license was suspended. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension and failure to use proper turn signals. The suspect was interviewed later regarding the recent breaking and entering and larceny of the motor vehicle. Based on the information from the interview matching the information from the breaking and entering of the motor vehicle, the subject will be additionally charged with Uttering, forgery, Conspiracy, Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle, larceny under, and illegal use of Credit Cards. A request for a warrant has also been entered for the second suspect.
Occurred at 1:23 AM (3/18) – Boylston Street/ Hammond Street
Officers were monitoring the area when they observed a vehicle that appeared to be at a speed higher than the limit. Officers conducted the traffic stop and upon investigation learned that the driver’s license to operate was suspended and a warrant was issued for the subject due to past traffic offenses. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension, operating with a revoked registration and speeding and for the warrant.
Occurred at 12:52 AM (3/18) – Kent Square
Officers responded to a report of youth disturbance. Upon arrival officers were approached by a young female who was visibly upset who stated that her brother had just been beaten up severely. Officers approached the subject and observed sever trauma to the victims face. Officer spoke with a few of the witnesses at the party who all stated that the victim was helping his sister by asking two gentleman who were uninvited, drunk and acting disorderly to leave. Upon escorting the two suspects out of the house, an argument ensued and the two suspects started to beat the victim up. A guest of the party tried to break it up, and the two suspects fled. Officers tried to contact both suspects but have not been able to locate them. Officers are applying to issue warrants on both suspects for Assault and Battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery causing serious bodily injury. Both parties were later contacted and arrested for the above charges.
Occurred at 2:14 PM (3/19) – Newton Street/ Grove Street
Officers were observing traffic when they observed a vehicle with commercial license plates but no owner markings on the vehicle. Officers conducted the traffic stop and learned that the operator did not have a duly license or registration. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for not being duly licensed to operate, and for not having owner markings on the commercial vehicle.
Occurred at 5:32 PM (3/19) – St. Paul Street/ Egmont Street
Officers observed a vehicle that was known to have an unlicensed operator. Officers conducted the traffic stop and confirmed that the operator’s license had been suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension.
Occurred between 2:45 AM (3/20) and 3:10 PM (3/20) – Washington Street/ Cypress Street
Officers responded to a report of fire box activation. Upon arrival another fire box had been activated within eight minutes from the first. Officers observed a male that was in the area if he had activation the fire boxes. The male denied touching the fire boxes. Officers observed the male subject having trouble standing and smelled strongly of alcohol. Officers requested a query for the subject and learned that the subject had a warrant out for his arrest. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest without incident.
Occurred at 2:31 AM (3/20) – Beacon Street
Officers observed a vehicle travelling without headlights. The driver failed to pull over for the police cruiser but then later pulled over when the officer exited his vehicle. After a registration check of the vehicle, officers learned that the operator did not have a license at all. The subject was placed under arrest for operating without a license. During the arrests officers learned that there was a small amount of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia in the vehicle. The subject was additionally charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, failure to display headlights and possession of marijuana less than and ounce.
Occurred at 3:03 AM (3/21) – Marion Street/ Harvard Street
Officers observed a vehicle running that did not seem to have a driver operating the vehicle. Officers exited the cruiser and approached the vehicle. Officers observed a female with her eyes closed and her head slumped to one side as if she was sleeping. Officers knocked on the window and the subject woke up. Officers could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle and asked for the subject’s license and registration. Upon investigation officers learned that the subject was a diabetic and that diabetic reactions have similar symptoms to intoxication. Due to those facts an ambulance was dispatched to check the subject. The subject’s diabetic number results were fine and officers requested the subject to complete field sobriety tests. The subject agreed. The subject failed all three tests and was placed under arrests for operating under the influence of liquor and a violation of the open container law.
Occurred between 9:00 AM (3/17) and 1:08 PM (3/17) – Beacon Street
Officers responded to take a report of a stolen motor vehicle. Upon arrival to that location officers met with the caller, who explained that he parked his 2009 Geninue, Buddy, motor scooter, on Charles St. He stated that he left his scooter on the side walk. The victim stated that he did not lock the scooter to the handicap sign pole, but only had the steering column locked. The victim stated that he parked it there on 3/17/2011, at approximately 0900 hours, and when he came out from his office at approximately 1310 hours, he discovered the scooter missing.
Larceny:
Occurred between 6:30 AM (3/20) and 7:30 PM (3/20) – Beacon Street
Officers responded to a report of larceny at the Holiday Inn. Upon investigation officers learned that the victim had left her room early in the morning and when she returned the door to the hotel room was propped open. She later realized that two of her laptops were missing. The hotel room had been cleaned by the house keepers. There was also a similar incident on 3/14/2011. At this time it is unknown if the incidents are related.

Officers were traveling north on Dean Road when they observed a vehicle proceed through the stop sign and pass through a crosswalk before coming to a stop. Officers conducted the traffic stop and asked the operator for a license and registration. The operator could only produce a Brazilian license and not a proper Massachusetts license. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest and cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and not duly licensed.
Occurred at 10:40 AM (3/16) – Boylston Street/ Clark Road
Officers observed a Ford pick up truck with Commercial license plates that had an expired registration sticker. The officer confirmed that the registration was expired and conducted the traffic stop. The operator could not produce a Massachusetts license or registration. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for not being duly licensed and having an unregistered motor vehicle.
Occurred between 5:59 PM (3/16) and 6:30 PM (3/16) – Parkway Road
Officers were monitoring traffic at Parkway Road when they observed a gray sedan with an expired inspection sticker. Officers conducted the traffic stop and learned that the operator’s license status was suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension.

Occurred at 8:04 AM (3/16) – Washington Street/ Cypress Street
Officers were monitoring the crosswalks due to recent complaints of vehicles failing to stop for pedestrians. Officers observed a vehicle who failed to stop at the cross walk. Officers conducted the traffic stop and learned that the operator’s license status was expired due to non payment. The subject was cited for operating with an expired license and failing to stop for pedestrians. The subject will be summonsed into Brookline District Court for a hearing on these charges.
Occurred between 4:42 PM (3/16) and 5:30 PM (3/16) – Washington Street
Officers observed a vehicle make a left turn in an area with marked signs stating no left turn from 4PM to 6PM. Officers directed the vehicle to pull over. The subject’s registration status was revoked due to cancelled insurance. The vehicle was towed and the subject was cited for making an illegal left turn, operating a motor vehicle after a revoked registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Larceny:
Occurred between 6:30 PM (3/15) and 7:00 PM (3/15) – Greenough Street
A subject reported to the front desk of the police station to make a report of larceny. The subject stated that a purse and its contents were stolen while the subject was working the night shift at the Brookline High School. This case is under investigation.

Occurred at 10:45 AM on (3/16) – Regent Circle
A resident of the area reported that she was looking out her window when she saw a male acting suspiciously. The male was reportedly walking around the building and looking at all the basement windows as he past them. He then walked into the basement of a building and walked back out. The male was describe as a white male in his 20’s, tall, thin, dark short hair, wearing blue head covering, jeans, dark jacket and a pair of sunglasses. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the subject.

Occurred at 10:16 PM (3/14) – Beacon Street
Officers were patrolling the area when they conducted a registration check. In result of the registration check officers learned that the registered owner had a warrant. At this time officers conducted the traffic stop. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest without incident for the charges of the warrant.
Occurred between 4:45 PM (3/15) and 5:00 PM (3/15) – Beacon Street
Officers were assigned to the patrol bike unit when they observed a vehicle blocking the bicycle lane with its hazard lights activated. As the officer pulled up next to the vehicle the operator took the hazard lights off and began to stop. The officer ordered the driver to stop. The driver refused to produce a license and registration and would not cooperate with the officer. The subject was then placed under arrest for refusing to produce a driver’s license for an officer and a marked lane violation.
Occurred at 1:06 AM (3/16) – Beacon Street
Officers were monitoring a parking lot in the area when they observed a vehicle enter and then exit the lot with fogged up windows. The officer followed the vehicle and observed the vehicle sway in and out of lanes and cross the solid white line. Officers conducted the traffic stop and could smell a strong odor of marijuana. Upon investigation officers asked all four occupants of the vehicle to step out for a pat frisk. One of the occupants was holding a very large sum of money. Officer then got consent to search the vehicle where they found remnants of marijuana, a grinder, and opened liquor bottles. The officers then asked the driver to participate in field sobriety tests to ensure that the driver was not driving under the influence of alcohol. The operator completed these test successfully. After consideration of the circumstances, one of the passengers was placed under arrest for possession of alcohol under the age of twenty one, and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. The three other occupants will be summonsed into court for possession of alcohol under the age of twenty one. While the arrested subject was being booked, a powdery substance consistent to heroin was found. The subject was additionally charged with possession of a class A substance.

Officers responded to a call from the Brookline Animal Hospital for a possible burglary. Upon arrival the employee/ caller stated that she had noticed a window that was usually shut to be open. She shut the window and then about five minute later heard a door of the building bang shut. She then became nervous that someone was in the building so she contacted the police. Officers searched the building and followed the footprints and finger prints from the window to the roof. Officer then found three individuals sleeping in a storage shed. Officers interviewed the individuals who were homeless and were sleeping in the shed for warmth. One of the individuals admitted to entering the building to find a warmer sleeping area. The subject who entered the building was placed under arrest for Breaking and Entering at night time to commit a felony, malicious destruction of property, possession of burglarious tools, and trespassing. The other two subjects were placed under arrest for trespassing.

Officers responded to a report of a larceny from a local dance studio. Upon investigation officers learned that the victim had placed her phone down in the dance room and before she left she realized it was gone. The victim has an idea of who may have took it and will produce a class list to further investigate.

Upon investigation the victim stated that he had parked his vehicle in a metered spot on Beacon Street and when he returned he noticed the front passenger window to be smashed. The victim stated he later realized his wallet was missing. He also realized that six unknown transactions had been made on his credit card that was stolen. This case is under ongoing investigation.

Officers observed a white GMC van with commercial license plates traveling north on Hammond Street that did not have owner marking on the vehicle. Officers conducted the traffic stop. Upon investigation the officer learned that the operator did not have a Massachusetts license to operate. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest and cited for not duly license to operate and no owner markings on a commercial license vehicle.

Officers were conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Beacon Street when they observed a pick up truck traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers conducted the traffic stop for speeding. Upon investigation officers learned that the operators license was suspended and the registration was revoked due to lack of insurance. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating without a license, uninsured operation, and speeding.

The owner stated that the building was vacant due to construction. The owner stated that the workers had left for the weekend and once they returned he discovered that the basement door was opened and one of the glass panels of the door was smashed. The owner confirmed that no items were missing. This case is under ongoing investigation.

An employee stated that the suspect had asked some question about the merchandise and when she walked away to take a phone call they took the merchandise and left without paying. There are no security cameras for footage but this case is under ongoing investigation.

Recently, The Brookline Police Department has received information on a money scam that a local resident has became a victim of. It seems that the scam thus far has been targeted towards residents of the elderly. The SCAM is believed to be operated by unknown persons working outside of the Unite States. They are sending people letters indicating that they are winners in the North American and the UK Consumer Promotion Draw. In a recent case the victim received a letter from Financial Express titled AWARD CLAIM NOTIFICATION. The letter stated that the victim was one of the winners of the North American and the UK Consumer Promotion Draw which is organized for customers of Walmart, Sears, Home Depot, Safeway, etc. It went on to say that the victim was entitled to a very large sum of money. They instructed the victim to call a claims agent and also included a counterfeit check that appeared real. The victim was also instructed to send a check via Western Union in order to pay for the tax on the winnings before they would receive the rest of the money. The check was wired and cashed and no other winnings were ever received. Therefore the victim lost out on a decent sum of money. Brookline Police want to make residents aware of this scam in order to prevent any future money from being lost. Officers were monitoring traffic on Brookline Avenue when they noticed a vehicle approaching at a high rate of speed. The officer confirmed the vehicles speed to be 43 mph within a school zone with a 20 mph limit. Officers conducted the traffic stop for speeding. Upon investigation the officers learned that the subject’s right to operate was suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension and speeding. During an inventory search of the vehicle, a clear plastic bag containing marijuana was found. The subject was additionally issued a citation for possession of marijuana.

Officers were stopped on Boylston Street when a vehicle with very dark tinted windows pulled up beside the officer’s vehicle. Due to the MA state law on tinted windows the officer did a registration plate check. The check showed the registration of the vehicle to be suspended. The officer conducted the traffic stop. Upon investigation officers learned that the subject operating the vehicle did not have a license due to suspension. The passenger, who was the owner of the vehicle, was aware that the operator did not have a license. The subject operating the motor vehicle was placed under arrest for operating after suspension, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and a tinted window violation. The owner of the vehicle was issued a citation for allowing an unlicensed operator and allowing and unregistered vehicle on the road.

Officers were patrolling the area when they observed a female being followed by a male. After a few minutes of walking the female approached the police cruiser explaining that she was being followed. The officers asked the male subject to stop and speak with the officer and the subject kept walking. Once the officers got the male subject to stop, it was evident that the subject did not speak English. Another officer was requested to the scene for translation. The male party identified himself but was unable to show identification due to being intoxicated. A pat frisk was conducted and officers discovered the subject’s wallet with a rolled up ten dollar bill with a white powdery substance on it. The victim stated the subject had followed him from the train and had put his hands on the victim while trying to talk to the victim. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for Possession of a Class b controlled substance, assault and battery, and providing a false name.

Officers were traveling on Harvard Street when they observed a vehicle that had failed to stop for a red light. The officers conducted the traffic stop and identified the driver. Officers learned that the subject’s license was suspended and the subject had four outstanding arrest warrants. The subject was subsequently placed under arrests for a red light violation, operating after suspension and the charges from the existing warrants.

Occurred between 9:15 AM (3/11) and 4:27 PM (3/11) – Greenway Court
An officer was assigned to the Coolidge corner walking beat when they were approached by a young lady who explained that she returned home to her apartment door being open and she believed it had been broken into. The officer assisted the subject back to her apartment. When additional officers arrived they entered the apartment and noticed that it had clearly been ransacked. The subject confirmed that the doors were locked when her and her roommates had left that morning. Officers noticed there had been pry marks on the front apartment door and the rear apartment door was left ajar. All three roommates confirmed items stolen. The apartment was processed and this case is under investigation.

Officers were dispatched to take a report for a stolen motor vehicle. Upon arrival officers spoke with the subject who stated that he worked for U- Haul of Brookline. There was a customer that had rented and never returned the vehicle. The reporting subject stated that he had just started working for U-Haul and was just recently made aware of the situation and reported it when he was told too. The reporting subject had all of the paper work that showed the customers name and address. The officer requested that the customer be summonsed into court for Larceny of a motor vehicle.
Sex Offender Registry Violation:
Occurred at 11:10 PM (3/12) – Beacon Street
Officers were observing the Beacon Street area due to several past reports of a peeper/ prowler, when they observed a suspect believed to be involved in these recent incidents. They conducted a field interview asking where the subject was coming from and going. The subject had inconsistent answers and seemed very nervous as if he was lying. Officers learned that the subject is classified as a level three sex offender. He had failed to attend his required registration meeting for the sex offender registry the day prior and was in violation. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for failure to register as a sex offender. During the inventory search of the subject, officers found objects that were placed into evidence.
Possession:

Officers conducted a registration check on a vehicle and the registration came up as expired. Officers conducted the traffic stop and advised the operator that the vehicle would be towed. The subject was issued a citation for an expired registration and was sent on his way. During an inventory search of the vehicle, a small bag of marijuana was found along with a tool use to grind marijuana. The owner was additionally issued a citation for possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

Officers were assigned to the Powell Street area when they observed a white vehicle traveling on Kent Street that had a rejected inspection sticker. The officer made a registration check and learned that the vehicles registration was active but the registered owner had a suspended driver’s license due to payment. The officer conducted the traffic stop and upon investigation confirmed the driver’s license to be suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension.
Occurred at 4:03 PM (3/10) – High Street/ Acron Road
Around 4:00 PM Officers were patrolling the area when they observed a vehicle with a defective break light. The officer conducted the traffic stop and upon investigation learned that the subject’s right to operate was revoked. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after revocation.
Burglary:
Occurred between 8:20 AM (3/10) and 4:50 PM (3/10) – University Road
Officers responded to a report of Breaking and Entering of a local apartment. Upon arrival the victim stated that multiple items were stolen from her apartment such as a laptop, a camera and some jewelry. The victim stated that she had locked all doors and windows prior to her departure. There were no obvious signs of forced entry. Detectives arrived to process the apartment for any evidence that may have been left behind. A follow up will be conducted for this incident. Later that day there was another report of an attempted burglary. No access was gained but officers advise residents of University Road to take precautions and report any incidents or suspicious behavior that is relevant to these incidents.

Occurred between 9:45 AM (3/9) and 9:50 AM (3/9) – Harvard Street/ Pierce Street
An Officer was traveling on foot on Peirce Street when he observed a female subject chasing after a male subject. As the officer approached the two subjects he witnessed a woman’s purse fall from the male subject’s coat. After interviewing the victim, she stated that she was at the local church and had placed her purse in an unoccupied office. When she heard noise coming from the office she looked and saw a male subject leaving the building and her purse was missing. She chased after him and questioned the male subject. At that point the male raised his hands up and the purse dropped from him coat. The subject was placed under arrests for larceny from a building.
Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle:
Occurred at 3:44 PM (3/9) – Browne Street/ St. Paul Street
Officers responded to a report of a breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle that was in progress. Upon arrival the victim stated he heard smashing glass outside. When he looked outside he saw a male subject crawling through the window of a vehicle. He then witnessed the subject run away. He described the male subject to be short in height, wearing blue jeans, a dark colored jacket and a red hat or hood of some kind. Police searched the vehicle for evidence and noticed the front passenger side window to be smashed with shattered glass on the interior and exterior of the vehicle. There also appeared to be small dents to the outside of the vehicle. No evidence or fingerprints were able to be detected from the vehicle. One item from the vehicle was taken. Officers patrolled the area looking for any suspects that matched the description given by the witness. One suspect was stopped and questioned but the witness was unable to confirm the identity of the suspect and was sent on his way. Police will follow up on this investigation and encourage all residence to avoid leaving valuables insight or in their vehicles.

Officers responded to a report of burglary. Upon arrival the victims stated that two of the three roommate’s laptops were missing when they arrived home from work. Upon investigation officers learned that it appeared someone had entered the apartment through a small ground level window and exited through the rear door. All of the roommates stated that the rear door was locked when they left in the morning and was unlocked when they arrived home. There were no other reports or calls of any suspicious activity. Officers will follow up on this investigation.

Occurred between 9:46 PM (3/9) and 1:01 AM (3/10) – Bellingham Road/ Grove Street
Officers responded to a report of trouble with a fire alarm circuit. Upon investigation officers traced the location of the trouble to a Verizon Telephone pole, located near the corner of Grove Street and Bellingham Road. He observed two sections of copper cables running from the Fire alarm box that is usually affixed to the pole had been cut eight feet above the ground and near the base of the pole. There is no further information on suspects or vehicles involved. The intent of this incident may be for the trade in value of copper at this time. Officers are requesting a follow up.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for an inspection sticker violation. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator did not have a valid Massachusetts drivers license. The subject was subsequently placed under arrests for operating without a license and failure to have a registration sticker.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator did not have a Massachusetts license to operate a motor vehicle. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating without a license and speeding. During their investigation officers learned that the subject used a false name after his arrest. Also, the subject is had and active federal warrant. As a result, the subject was also charged with providing a false name to police.

The passenger was issued a citation for possession of marijuana and for a seat belt violation.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a prohibited turn. Upon investigation officers learned that the operators right to operate in Massachusetts was not valid. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest for operating without a license.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Upon investigation officers learned that the operators driver’s license was suspended. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension and speeding.

Officers received information about a subject who was in the police station who had an outstanding arrest warrant. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest without incident.

Officers received notice of a local resident with an outstanding arrest warrant. Officers arrived at the subject’s residence and the subject was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Brookline Police Department.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation. Upon investigation officers confirmed that the operators licenses was suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension.

Officers responded to a call of a violation of a restraining order. Upon investigation officers learned that the subject had indeed violated the terms of the restraining order and was subsequently placed under arrest for trespassing.

Officers received a report of an assault. The victims stated a man walking in front of them had dropped a water bottle. As they proceeding past the crowd they saw a man running towards them. The man then grabbed one of the victims and threw him against the fence yelling about the dropped water bottle. The suspect then let go and fled the scene. Police did a search of the surrounding area however could not locate the suspect.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for an expired license. Upon investigation officers confirmed that the operators license was expired and non renewable. The subject will be summonsed into court for unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

Officers were contacted by a local hospital who stated that a patient that was being released had two active arrest warrants. Officers reported to the hospital and placed the subject under arrest without incident.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a prohibited turn. Upon investigation officers learned that the operators right to operate in Massachusetts was not valid. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest for operating without a license.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Upon investigation officers learned that the operators driver’s license was suspended. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension and speeding.

Officers received information about a subject who was in the police station who had an outstanding arrest warrant. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest without incident.

Officers received notice of a local resident with an outstanding arrest warrant. Officers arrived at the subject’s residence and the subject was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Brookline Police Department.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation. Upon investigation officers confirmed that the operators licenses was suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension.

Officers responded to a call of a violation of a restraining order. Upon investigation officers learned that the subject had indeed violated the terms of the restraining order and was subsequently placed under arrest for trespassing.

Officers received a report of an assault. The victims stated a man walking in front of them had dropped a water bottle. As they proceeding past the crowd they saw a man running towards them. The man then grabbed one of the victims and threw him against the fence yelling about the dropped water bottle. The suspect then let go and fled the scene. Police did a search of the surrounding area however could not locate the suspect.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for failure to use headlights. While speaking with the operator officers could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the operator. After an investigation the operator was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle without headlights.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator’s right to operate in Massachusetts was suspended. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension.

Officers received a call on a report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle. The victim stated that one of the tires of her motor vehicle had been slashed. The victim also noticed that the neighbor’s vehicle had four flat tires as well. Officers are conducting a follow up investigation.

Officers responded to a report of an Assault. Upon arrival officers learned that the neighbor of the victim had came over to complain about the loud music. After a small exchange of words the complainant became angry and aggressive and punched the victim in the face several times. Officers conducted a traffic stop for a red light violation. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator did not have a license to operate in Massachusetts. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for a red light violation and operating without a license.

Officers pursued a traffic violation for a red light violation. The operator of the motor vehicle refused to stop when signaled by police. Due to the dangerousness of the conditions, the pursuit was terminated, officers later found the vehicle unoccupied in a nearby location. Upon investigation officers learned that the vehicle had been stolen from Manchester, NH on March 3, 2011. The vehicle was seized and fingerprinted and the investigation is ongoing.

Park Interns will ensure that park rules, regulations and Town by-laws are adhered to, within the recreational areas of the Town. They will work closely with the Police officers on the street as well as Park Rangers from the Park Department. Hours will be late afternoon and evening shifts. We are seeking highly motivated people who enjoy interacting with people from all walks of life. They should enjoy being outside getting exercise as they may be required to travel between several locations and interacting with people in the parks.

Officers responded to a call for breaking and entering of a local home. In the surrounding area of the home, officers noticed a subject that fit the description of the Breaking and Entering suspect. The subject’s identity was confirmed by the victim and he was arrested for Breaking and Entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony and transported to Brookline Police Department.

Officers were conducting routine surveillance of the area when they noticed a white Cadillac acting suspicious that was in an area that is well known for drug activity. Officers observed the vehicle come to a stop in a rear parking lot and watched as an outside member entered the vehicle and then left the vehicle within a short amount of time. The officers conducted field interviews on both the occupants within the vehicle and the outside party. In result, and based on the evidence found, all three subjects were placed under arrests for Possession Class B w/Intent to Distribute, and Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Act. The two occupants of the vehicle were additionally charged with a School Zone Violation.

Officers responded to a report of larceny. Upon investigation officers learned that the owner of a local repair shop had footage of two male subjects stealing scrap metal from a truck on his property. The case is under ongoing investigation.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for not having a front license plate. Upon investigation officers learned that the automobile registration was revoked and also uninsured. The vehicle was towed and the subject was issued MA uniform citations for operating with a revoked registration, operating and uninsured motor vehicle and failure to display a front license plate.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for revoked registration. Upon investigation officers confirmed that the registration was revoked. The vehicle was towed and the operator was issued a citation for revoked insurance and revoked registration.

Officers responded to two different calls of breaking and entering and larceny of motor vehicles within a two day period within the same area. Items were taken from both vehicles. It is important that surrounding residence and community members lock all of their doors of their vehicles in order to prevent these break ins. Officers were assigned to serve two default warrants. In result one subject was placed under arrest and transported to Brookline Police Station.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a defective tail light. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator had a straight warrant out for his arrest. In result the subject was placed under arrest and issued a citation for defective equipment.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for violating a red light. Upon investigation officers learned that the operators license was suspended. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest.

A report was made for larceny. The victim stated that money had been stolen from his wallet while at the athletic club. An employee from the athletic club claimed to know who the subject was. The incident will be followed up on.

Police were called to a local store for the report of a customer disturbing. As a result of the police investigation one female was placed under arrest for disorderly person, assault, threats to commit an assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and malicious damage to property.

Police stopped a vehicle for speeding on Boylston St. As a result of the police investigation the operator of the vehicle was placed under arrest for operating after suspension of his license and attaching wrong number plates.

Resident of Jordan Rd. called police after observing an unknown male attempting to enter his vehicle, and a second unknown male who was attempting to gain access to a neighbor’s vehicle. The caller provided police with a description and based on that description two parties were subsequently located in the area. The two parties were then both arrested and charged with attempted B&E and possession of burglarious tools.

The operator was subsequently placed under arrest for not duly licensed, and speeding. Upon the arrest officer discovered three plastic bags that contained a substance police identified as cocaine, and was also charged with possession of a class B substance.

Occurred at 7:32 PM (2/15) – Longwood Avenue
Officers responded to a call of threats. The victim told police that a resident of the apartment building had threatened to hit him with a glass bottle because he did not sign off a piece of certified mail for him. The subject then maliciously backed into the victim’s vehicle with his own car. The subject was advised that he will be summonsed into court for Assault Dangerous Weapon-glass bottle, Threats, Malicious Destruction of Property and Leaving the Scene of Accident.

Officers received a call that there was a motor vehicle accident at the college campus. After the accident a faculty member of the college got a call from a student stating that her roommate had been given a firearm to hold and hide for her boyfriend who was involved in the accident. The boyfriend did not want the police to find it during the towing of the vehicle, so it was giving to his girlfriend to hold it for him. Brookline Police are investigating the validity of the incident and will be notified by school officials when the subject returns to campus.

Upon investigation officers learned that the new name was the subjects actual name and that the subject had three default warrants out for his arrest. The subject was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Therefore, the subject was charged with not duly licensed, false name and information, illegal left turn, and possession of Class E drug.

Officers were investigating a past incident when they witness a subject who appeared to be buying drugs from a local resident. The officers questioned the subject which resulted in the subject being placed under arrests and charged with conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act, possession of class B and possession of class E. The subject who sold the controlled the substance was also arrested and charged with conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act, distributing class b, possession with the intent to distribute class b, school zone and attaching motor vehicle plates.

Officers responded to a past Breaking and Entering at a local apartment. Upon arrival officers learned that the window to the victims bathroom had been kicked in and the front door was left open. At the time of the report the victim stated nothing appeared to be missing from the apartment. This incident is under ongoing investigation.

Officers responded to a report of suspected drug activity. Upon arrival the subject was subsequently transported to a local hospital for an overdose of a controlled substance. While the officer was assisting the patient out of the vehicle, the officer noticed drug paraphernalia in plain view, along with a plastic baggy of substance known to be a controlled substance. The subject was summonsed into court for the possession of controlled substance.

Officers responded to a call of two subjects smoking marijuana in a parked vehicle. Upon arrival officers learned that the vehicle had smelled of marijuana. The subject admitted to having a small amount of marijuana. The two subjects were both issued town by law citation for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

Officers responded to a report for an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Upon investigation officers learned that two subjects had made an agreement regarding payments of a vehicle. One subject had not been keeping up with the agreement and the owner of the vehicle asked for possession of the vehicle back. Police requested that the non-paying subject be summonsed into Brookline District Court for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Officers responded to a bank alarm from a local bank. Upon investigation officers learned that the subject had handed the teller a note requesting money. The teller handed over the money while another teller pulled the alarm. Police units responded to the area and conducted an intesive search of the area. The case is still under an ongoing investigation.

Officers responded to a report of an attempted robbery. Upon investigation the victim stated that a man had followed her demanded her bags that contained newly purchased items. The subject subsequently followed the victim but fled the area before police arrived.

Officers responded to a report of Breaking and Entering. Upon investigation officers learned that someone had entered the home through an open window. Multiple items were taken. Police are following several leads on this case.

Officers responded to a report of an assault. Upon investigation the victim stated that male subject had shoved her by his shoulders and thrown snow at her over a parking issue. The suspect fled the area and police a conducting a following up investigation.

Officers responded to a report of an assault. Upon investigation officers learned that there was a dispute between a cab driver and 3 customers. It was concluded that there was a mutual assault between both parties. Police are requesting all four subjects be summonsed into Brookline District Court for mutual assault and battery.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road. Upon investigation officers learned that the drivers license was suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension.

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter fleeing from a local supermarket. As officers exited their cruisers to approach the fleeing vehicle, the vehicle crossed over to the other side of traffic and sped off. The officers then caught up with the fleeing subject and he was arrested for failure to stop for an officer, and shoplifting.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction. Upon the investigation officers learned that the driver had smelled of an alcohol beverage. The subject was subsequently placed under arrests for a marked lanes violation, operating with a suspended license, and operating under the influence of liquor.

Brookline Police confirmed a straight warrant out of Malden District Court, and the subject was placed under arrest without incident and transported to Brookline Police Department.

Officers received information from the Brookline District Court stating that there was a subject in the courthouse with outstanding warrants and that the judge was not able to process him at that time. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest and transferred to Brookline Police Station.

A victim reported to the Brookline Police Station for threats that had been made against him. The victim stated that when he returned to his home there was an unknown male sitting in his garage. After brief questioning and argument the subject threatened to slash his tires.

Officers responded to a call for theft of gas/ non payment of gas. Upon arrival the gas station attendant stated that a gray Mercedes Benz had pumped gas and then drove off. Police are conducting a follow up investigation.

Officers responded to a report of larceny of a bicycle. Upon arrival officer learned that the victim had locked her bike up to a meter for two days. She stated she was not sure when during the past two days it was stolen. Police are following up on the case.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for an expired inspection sticker. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator’s driver’s license was suspended and the vehicles registration was revoked. The vehicle was towed and police are requesting the driver be summons to Brookline District Court for operating after suspension and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle:
Occurred between 8:00 AM (1/28) and 4:00 PM (1/28) – Hawes Street
Officers responded to a report of a Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. Upon arrival officers noticed the rear passenger window smashed. The victim stated that nothing appeared to be missing.
Occurred between 8:00 PM (1/30) and 5:32 AM (1/31) – Freeman Street
Officers responded to a report of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival officers noticed the driver’s window and mirror of the victim’s vehicle had been smashed. The victim stated that nothing seemed to be missing but the contents of the vehicle had been rummaged through. This case is under ongoing investigation.
Malicious Damage:
Occurred between 2:00 AM (1/30) and 2:21 AM (1/30) – Strathmore Road
Officers responded to a report of malicious damage of a building. Upon arrival the two victims stated that they had met two male subjects outside of a club who offered to drive them home. After the two males dropped the victims off they began to yell and bang on the building doors in an attempt to get the victims attention. They smashed the window of the building before fleeing the area. Police are following up on the investigation.

Officers responded to a report of assault. Upon arrival the victim stated that a fellow taxi cab driver had pulled up to his taxi and accused him of stealing his fare. After an argument one of the drivers threw a glass bottle at the victim’s window, hitting and bruising the victim. The subject was subsequently placed under arrests for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

Officers responded to a report of malicious damage to a building. Upon arrival officers learned that the front glass door of the Coolidge house had been smashed in. A witness stated that they saw the incident and described the suspect to the officers. Officers then found a suspect that matched the witness' description in the lobby of a nearby hotel. The man was placed under arrest for malicious destruction of property and disorderly conduct.

Officers responded to a report of larceny. Upon arrival the victim stated that his cigarette case that was used as a wallet was missing after plumbers had worked at his house.

Officers responded to a report of larceny of a bicycle. Upon arrival officer learned that the victim had locked her bike up to a meter for two days. She stated she was not sure when during the past two days it was stolen. Police are following up on the case.

Officer responded to a call of motor vehicle theft. Upon investigation officers learned that two motor vehicles from a local auto shop had been stolen during the night. One of the two vehicles has been recovered in Cambridge, MA and a subject had been arrested in that jurisdiction.

Officers responded to a report of assault and battery. Upon investigation the victims stated that a man had assaulted two neighborhood boys after the boys accidently knocked snow onto the sidewalk. The subject was not located at the time of the initial repoonse, however officers are conducting a follow up investigation.

Officers made a traffic stop for a marked line violation. Upon investigation officers learned that the driver was operating with out a proper license. The driver was issued a citation for marked line violation, and police are requesting he be summoned into Brookline District Court for operating a motor vehicle a non duly license.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a suspended registration. Upon investigation officers learned that the driver was operating with a revoked license. While being placed under arrest, the driver admitted to possessing a small amount of a controlled substance. The driver was then arrested for operating with a suspended registration and revoked license, and possession of a class B substance.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding. While the officer was in his cruiser writing a citation, a man approached the vehicle stating that he was a victim of a taxi cab fare evasion. The officer then approached the subject that was suspected of the taxi fare evasion, who subsequently became very loud and disorderly. The suspect was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and cab fare evasion.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding. While the officer was in his cruiser writing a citation, a man approached the vehicle stating that he was a victim of a taxi cab fare evasion. The officer then approached the subject that was suspected of the taxi fare evasion, who subsequently became very loud and disorderly. The suspect was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and cab fare evasion.
Occurred at 9:37 PM (1/23) – Harvard Street/ Beacon Street
Officers conducted a traffic stop for an illegal U- turn. Upon investigation officers learned that the driver was operating with a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for operating after suspension. Officers later discovered that the driver was in possession of a class B substance, and was also charged with possession of a class B substance.
Occurred at 2:06 AM (1/21) – Beacon Street
Officers conducted a traffic stop for a broken headlight. Upon investigation officers learned that the driver’s license was suspended and that the driver had an active warrant out for his arrest. The driver was then arrested for Defective equipment, Operating after suspension, and a default warrant.
Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle
Occurred between 7:00PM (1/18) and 8:00 AM (1/19) – Clark Road
Officers responded to a Breaking and Entering of a motor vehicle. Upon investigation, the victim stated that multiple items from the vehicle had been stolen. A follow up investigation will be conducted. There were also other calls in the surrounding area around the same time period for Breaking and Entering of motor vehicles.
Larceny
Occurred at 4:12 AM (1/21) – Francis Street
Officers responded to a report of a cab fare evasion. Upon investigation, officers learned that the two suspects had refused to pay the appropriate fare amount. Police requested that the two suspects be summons in Brookline District Court for Larceny.

Occurred at 7:58 AM (1/18) – Beverly Road
Officers responded to a report of a Breaking and Entering and Larceny. Upon investigation officers learned that a local school had been missing several items. Police noted that there were no signs of forced entry. Police are following up on the case.
Occurred between 7:10 PM (1/18) and 7:17 PM (1/18) – Beacon Street
Officers responded to a report of larceny. The victim stated that his bicycle had been stolen off the street. The bike was later recovered.
Assault
Occurred at 7:45 AM (1/18) – Babcock Street
Officers responded to a report of Assault and Battery. Upon investigation, officers learned that two patients at a local hospital got into an altercation. A clerks hearing was requested for simple assault.
Disturbing the Peace
Occurred at 8:00 PM (1/18) – Sewall Avenue
Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person. Upon investigation police learned that the suspicious person was the suspect of a past larceny and other charges. The suspect was summons to court for Disturbing the Peace, Larceny, and Malicious Damage

Occurred between 12:40 AM (1/15) and 11:00 AM (1/15) – Hammond Street
Police responded to a burglary report. The victim stated that an unknown person had stolen personal items from his work place. During their investigation, police noted that there were no obvious signs of forced entry. Police are follwing up on the case.
Malicious Damage of a Vehicle
Occurred between 12:00 PM (1/15) and 10:00 AM (1/16) – City View Road
Officers responded to a call of malicious damage to a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim’s vehicle had been damaged by use of a sharp object on both sides. Police are following up on the case.

Occurred at 11:01 AM (1/17) – Commonwealth Avenue
Officers responded to a shoplifting call. Upon arrival the employees of the store stated they watched as the suspect was found putting several items of merchandise from the store in his pockets. After a brief investigation, the suspect was subsequently arrested for shoplifting.
Occurred at 2:22 PM (1/17) – South Street
Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault. Upon investigation the officers learned that a male subject had sexually assaulted multiple female employees. After an intense investigation the suspect was arrested for three counts of Indecent Assault and Battery.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a red light violation. During the stop, officers learned that the operator’s right to operate a motor vehicle was suspended. The driver was placed under arrests for operating a motor vehicle after suspension and failure to stop for a red signal.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for revoked insurance. Officers subsequently learned that the driver was also driving with a revoked license as well as revoked insurance. The driver was issued citations for operating after revoked insurance and for operating with a suspended license.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a defective tail light. Upon investigation, officers learned that the driver was operating with a suspended license, and the registration on the vehicle was revoked. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for the above charges.
Occurred at 1:27 PM (1/18) – Dean Road/ Fisher Avenue
Officers conducted a traffic stop for a stop sign violation. Upon investigation, officers learned that the operator’s driver’s license status was suspended. The driver was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle after suspension and issued a citation for failure to come to a complete stop.
