December 2nd 2008 Police Reports

Arrest

  • Occurred at 12;29AM (12/02) – Boylston St/ Sumner Rd

An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle that was swerving in between traveling lanes at excessive speed. After further investigation the driver placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

  • Occurred at 3:28PM (12/02) – Cypress St/ Walnut St

Officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival police met with the driver who had a strong odor of alcohol coming from her. After further investigation the driver was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Found Property

  • Occurred at 11:35AM (12/02) – Ward Pond

An officer retrieved an ignition key with the lock entry mechanism that was found in the Ward Pond area. For retrieval please contact the Brookline Police evidence officer at the (617)730-2252.

December 1st 2008 Police Reports

Burglary

  • Occurred between 8:00AM (12/01) and 7:49PM (12/01) – 32 Winchester St

Victim reported that upon returning home she noticed that her Macintosh laptop and Brookstone stereo were missing from her living room table. She also observed that several jewelry boxes in her bedroom had been rummaged through. It appeared that entry was gained through her rear bedroom window.

  • Occurred between 5:00PM (12/01) and 7:40PM (12/01) – 77 Marion St

Victim reported that upon returning home he observed that his 22” Samsung flat television valued at $450 was missing from his living room. It appeared that entry was gained through the bedroom window. Nothing else appeared to be missing.

  • Occurred between 5:30PM (12/01) and 6:15PM (12/01) – 154 Harvard St

Victim reported that she was at home when she observed that someone had entered her apartment and removed her HP Pavillion laptop valued at $1600 and purse containing her personal cards. It appeared that entry was gained through her bedroom window.

  • Occurred between 4:00PM (11/26) and 11:14AM (12/01) – 37 Auburn St

Reporting party states that someone had broken into eight storage bins on his property. It appeared that entry was gained into the basement through a window that had been removed. Nothing appeared to be missing from any of the units.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 10:00PM (11/30) and 8:30PM (12/01) – 2 Strathmore Rd

Victim reported that upon returning home he observed that his Mezuzah valued at $150 was removed from his apartment’s front door. The Mezuzah is described as having a mahogany base with a silver colored star in the center and has a parchment scroll with Hebrew writing inside.

  • Occurred between 6:00PM (11/30) and 5:00PM (12/01) – 2 Strathmore Rd

Victim reported that he also had a Mezuzah valued at $150 stolen from the front door of his apartment. The Mezuzah is described as having a bronze, woven pattern with green gem stones and a parchment enclosed through a small opening on the top. This is the second incident to have occurred at this location.

November 25th – 30th Police Reports

Arrest

  • Occurred at 2:49AM (11/30) – 739 Boylston St

An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and possession of a Class E substance.

  • Occurred at 9:24PM (11/29) – Brookline Ave/ Parkway Rd

An officer on patrol stopped two individuals who were acting suspiciously in a parking lot. Further investigation revealed that the two subjects were in possession of illegal substances. They were placed under arrest for possession of a Class B and Class D substance.

  • Occurred at 3:00PM (11/29) – 247 Kent St

Police were dispatched to a report of man chasing two suspects who had just robbed a woman. Police with the help of witnesses were able to pursue and apprehend both suspects. A search revealed that one of the suspects was in possession of a knife. The suspects were placed under arrest and charged with armed robbery while masked.

  • Occurred at 2:51AM (11/29) – 39 Lagrange St

An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle after its occupants were acting suspiciously. Further investigation revealed that the driver was operating a motor vehicle without a license and had three active warrants. The driver was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred a 8:07PM (11/28) – Washington St/ Juniper St

An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver’s right to operate a motor vehicle had been suspended. The driver was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred at 1:02PM (11/29) – 300 Harvard St

Police officers were dispatched to a report of a shoplifter being detained. Upon arrival police met with store officials who stated that the suspect had placed several clothing articles in her purse. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting.

  • Occurred at 11:43AM (11/27) - 89 Marion St

Officers on patrol stopped two individuals who were acting suspiciously. Further investigation revealed that the suspects were in possession of a Class A substance and hypodermic needles. The suspects were both placed under arrest.

  • Occurred between 12:43AM (11/26) – 80 Boylston St

An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for traveling at excessive speed. After stopping the vehicle further investigation revealed that the driver’s right to operate a motor vehicle had been suspended. The driver was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred between 4:12PM (11/25) and 6:35PM (11/25) – Brookline Ave/ Aspinwall Ave

Officers responded to a report of a car accident. Upon arrival police met with one of the drivers who had a strong odor of alcohol coming from him. Further investigation revealed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. He will be summoned to court for operating under the influence of alcohol, and driving to endanger.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 11:00PM (11/29) and 3:00PM (11/30) – 77 Mason (43)

Victim reported that upon returning to her vehicle she observed that her passenger side door was slightly open. She noticed that her glove compartment had been rummaged through and found that her pair of Ralph Lauren sunglasses valued at $200 and a small flashlight was missing. The vehicle had been left unlocked.

  • Occurred between 11:30AM (11/30) and 11:50AM (11/30) – 1773 Beacon St

Victim reported that she had reached into her purse to retrieve her wallet when she observed that it was missing. She reported that she had left her purse unattended on a church pew during Sunday service at All Saint Parish. The wallet contained personal cards, a check book and $20 in cash.

  • Occurred between 10:00AM (11/26) and 12:00PM (11/28) – 79 Buckminster Rd

Victim reported that after viewing his online bank statements he observed that there were two suspicious checks in his account. He later noticed that two checks had been taken from his checkbook located in his kitchen. He informed officers that there are several people working in and around his house. A follow up investigation is being conducted.

  • Occurred between 2:30PM (11/27) and 3:00PM (11/27) – 210 Harvard St

Reporting party states that he observed that his IPod and IPod Inmotion sound dock were missing from the United Parish building where it was used to provide music for their Thanksgiving dinner party. The entire system is valued at $500.

  • Occurred between 9:34AM (11/16) and 9:34(11/23) – 33 Pond Ave

Victim reported that upon returning home from vacation he observed that $105 in cash was missing from his nightstand. He informed officers that management had allowed contractors to do work in his apartment while he was away. A follow – up investigation is being conducted.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 6:00AM (11/26) and 11:30AM (11/30) – 42 Station St

Victims reported that upon arriving home they discovered that their two flat screen TV’s had been stolen. Their AOC Envision TV valued at $400 was taken from their spare room, and their Trutech TV valued at $400 was taken off their kitchen wall. The mounting unit valued at $75 was also missing. It appeared that entry was gain using the bedroom window.

  • Occurred between 1:00PM (11/26) and 6:08PM (11/26) – 168 Winchester St

Victims reported that upon returning home they observed that one of their side windows had been broken. Upon entering their home they observed that their digital camera, Dell Laptop, and two IPods were missing. A silver bracelet and $40 in cash was also missing. They also noticed that their green Toyota was stolen from the driveway.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 10:30PM (11/29) and 11:00AM (11/30) – 696 Washington St

Reporting party states that upon returning to his business he observed that the front door window had been shattered. It appeared that there was no attempt to enter the premises.

  • Occurred between 5:30PM (11/28) and 10:30AM (11/29) – 26 Holly Lane

Reporting party states that upon returning to her vehicle she observed damage done to the rear of her vehicle. It appeared that someone had keyed the vehicle.

Breaking and Entering/ Larceny MV

  • Occurred between 1:00PM (11/28) and 11L00AM (11/29) – 50 Franklin St

Victim reported that upon returning to his vehicle he discovered that his glove compartment had been rummaged through and found its contents spread throughout the vehicle. It appeared that an unknown amount of change was missing from the car’s ashtray.

  • Occurred between 10:00PM (11/28) and 7:00AM (11/29) – 227 Cypress St

Victim reported that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that his passenger side window had been smashed. He noticed that his vehicle had been rummaged through and found two cassette tapes missing.

  • Occurred between 6:30PM (11/27) and 7:30PM (11/27) – 197 Kent St

Victim reported that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that his driver’s side window had been smashed. He noticed that his portable Plenio GPS Unit valued at $500 was taken from the dashboard of the vehicle.

  • Occurred between 7:30PM (11/25) and 9:45PM (11/25) – 1 Pearl St

Victim reported that upon retuning to her parked vehicle she observed that her front passenger side window had been smashed. She noticed that her Tom Tom GPS unit valued at $350 was missing.

Motor Vehicle Theft

  • Occurred between 2:00PM (11/28) and 7:40PM (11/28) – 85 Egmont St

Reporting party states that upon returning to retrieve his company vehicle he observed that it was missing. The vehicle is described as a white Ford Econoline van with “Northeast Electrical and Mechanical” written on the sides.

Found Property

  • Occurred between 1:25PM (11/25) and 2:00PM (11/25) – Beacon St/ Harvard St

A police officer retrieved an ignition key with the lock entry mechanism that was found by the MBTA green line track. For retrieval contact the Brookline Police Department.

  • Occurred between 9:17AM (11/26) and 10:00AM 911/26)- 63 Pleasant St

A bicycle was retrieved by the Brookline Highway department that was left at the rear of the station. For retrieval please contact the Brookline Police Department.

November 24th 2008 Police Reports

Larceny

  • Occurred at 1:30PM (11/24) – 1317 Beacon St

Police officers were dispatched to a report of a shoplifting. Upon arrival police met with store officials who reported that a suspect had concealed several food products under her clothes and then attempted to leave the store. The suspect will be summoned to court shoplifting.

Graffiti

  • Occurred at 9:33AM (11/19) – 27 Harvard St

Reporting party states that upon returning to his building he observed graffiti written on the silver post of the front entrance. The graffiti read “Shows” and was written using blue marker.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 12:08AM (11/24) – Boylston St/ Chestnut Hill Ave

An officer on patrol observed a vehicle traveling at excessive speed. After stopping the vehicle further investigation revealed that the driver had an active warrant. The driver was placed under arrest.

November 21st – 23rd 2008 Police Reports

Arrest

  • Occurred at 10:10AM (11/23) – 45 Boylston St

An officer on patrol pulled over a vehicle for having an obstructed license plate. Further investigation revealed that the driver had a fake inspection sticker placed on the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest for possessing and procuring a Massachusetts inspection ticket, and for having an obstructed license plate.

  • Occurred at 3:10PM (11/22) – 18 Harvard St

An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for having a rejected inspection sticker. Further investigation revealed that driver had two default warrants and was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for both warrants and operating after suspension.

  • Occurred at 9:40AM (11/22) – 448 Harvard St

Officers on patrol observed a vehicle traveling at excessive speed. After stopping the vehicle an inquiry revealed that the driver had an active warrant. The driver was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred at 9:31PM (11/21) – 404 Harvard St

Police officers were dispatched to a report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival police spoke with the reporting party who stated that two of his employees were engaged in a verbal dispute that became physical. One of the employees was placed under arrest and charged with assault and battery and assault and battery with a knife.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:30PM (11/22) and 12:10AM (11/23) – 1 Centre St Lot West

Victim reported that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that all four side windows of his vehicle had been removed. Nothing appeared to be missing from inside the vehicle.

  • Occurred between 6:00PM (11/20) and 10:00PM (11/21) -16 Kennard Rd

Reporting party states that someone had removed the left rear tire to her son’s vehicle. The vehicle was parked in the side driveway and was found with a cinder block under the axle.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 6:00PM (11/22) and 11:36PM (11/22) – 1386 Beacon St

Victim reported that upon returning to his apartment he observed that his front door was wide open. After inspecting the apartment it appeared that nothing was missing. This is the second breaking and entering incident that has occurred at this unit.

  • Occurred at 8:31PM(11/22) – 22 Kenwood St

Police officers were dispatched to a report of a residential alarm. Upon arrival officers observed that the rear porch window had been broken. After contacting the homeowners it appeared that two jewelry boxes containing various jewels were missing from the second floor bedroom.

Breaking and Entering/ Larceny MV

  • Occurred between 3:00PM (11/21) and 5:00PM (11/21) – 106 Colbourne St

Victim reported that upon returning to her vehicle she observed that her green canvas pocketbook containing her wallet, $2020 in cash, and a Canon digital camera were missing. The vehicle had been left unlocked.

  • Occurred between 6:00PM (11/20) and 7:15AM (11/21) – 1151 Beacon St

Victim reported that sometime overnight someone had smashed the front driver side window of his vehicle. He observed that his silver Delphi satellite radio valued at $300 was missing from his center console.

  • Occurred at 2:49AM (11/21) – 54 Egmont St (Rear)

Police on patrol observed a vehicle with its passenger side window broken. Officers were unable to determine if anything was taken from the vehicle.

  • Occurred at 4:49AM (11/21) – 76 Egmont St (Rear)

Police on patrol observed a parked vehicle with its passenger side window smashed. Upon inspecting the vehicle it appeared that the glove and armrest compartments had been rummaged through.

  • Occurred between 9:00AM (11/20) and 8:00AM( 11/21) – 76 Egmont St (Rear)

Victim reported that upon returning to her vehicle she observed that her front passenger side window had been smashed. It appeared that nothing was missing from the vehicle.

  • Occurred between 8:00AM (11/20) and 8:00AM 911/21) – 76 Egmont St (Rear)

Victim reported that sometime overnight someone had smashed the front passenger window of his vehicle. He noticed that his black GPS unit valued at $250 was missing from his glove compartment. Nothing else appeared to be missing.

  • Occurred at 3:01AM (11/21) – 65 Thatcher St

Police on patrol observed a parked vehicle with its front passenger side window smashed. It appeared that the suspect had rummaged through the vehicle’s center console and glove compartment. In the same area police observed another vehicle with its front passenger side window smashed. It appeared that nothing was missing from this vehicle.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 10:30PM (11/21) and 8:30AM (11/22) – 64 University Rd

Reporting party stated that sometime over night someone had egged and thrown a pink and black substance all over the front and left side of his home.

November 20th 2008 Police Reports

Arrest

  • Occurred at 8:33PM (11/20) – Boylston St/ Reservoir Rd

An officer on patrol stopped a driver for traveling at excessive speed. Further investigation revealed that the driver’s license had been suspended. The driver was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle after suspension and speeding.

  • Occurred at 10:38AM (11/20) – 1297 Beacon St

An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred at 1:42AM (11/21) – Heath St/ Boylston St

An officer on patrol pulled over a driver after observing the vehicle swerve in between travel lanes. After stopping the driver further investigation revealed that the driver was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest.

Breaking and Entering/ Larceny MV

  • Occurred between 1:30PM (11/12) and 3:52PM (11/20) – Hammond St/ Boylston St

Victim reported that upon returning to his parked vehicle he observed that his passenger side window had been smashed. He noticed that his Garmin GPS unit valued at $150 was taken from under his driver’s seat. The charger and window mount were also removed from the vehicle.

Attempted Breaking and Entering/ Larceny

  • Occurred at 3:01AM (11/21) – 65 Thatcher St (Rear)

Victim reported that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that his front passenger side window had been shattered. He noticed that his glove compartment and center console had been disturbed. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Attempted Robbery

  • Occurred at 2:16AM (11/21) – 74 Egmont St

Victim reported that she was walking home when an unknown suspect approached her and attempted to take her purse. After failing to take the purse the suspect fled the scene. The victim was unable to get a description of the suspect.

Found Property

  • Occurred at 11:30PM (11/19) – 43 Harrison

November 19th 2008 Police Reports

Arrest

  • Occurred at 10:22PM (11/19) – 43 Harrison St

Police on patrol stopped two juvenile individuals who matched the description of two male suspects who had just mugged a male party. After being identified by a witness the suspects were placed under arrest. The suspects were charged with armed robbery while masked and possession of an air rifle.

Attempted Larceny

  • Occurred at 10:30AM (11/19) – 235 Harvard St

Victim reported that she was at her place of employment when she heard someone enter. After checking the front office she observed a male subject putting her laptop into his backpack. After retrieving her laptop the suspect fled. The suspect is described as a middle-aged, light skinned Hispanic male, 5’9”, bald head, clean shaven, wearing a blue/ gray quilted sweatshirt with khaki pants.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:00AM (9/16) and 4:00PM (9/16) – 34 Station St

Victim reported that four of her UPS packages were delivered and left in the main lobby of her residence. When she went to retrieve the packages she observed that they were missing. The packages contained electronic computer and office equipment totaling $4574.97.

  • Occurred at 5:30PM (11/19) – 525 Harvard St

Police were dispatched to a report of a shoplifter being detained at a TJ Maxx. Upon arrival police met with a store official who stated that the suspect had entered the store and stuck a pair of black gloves into his coat pocket. Suspect was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 8:45AM (11/19) and 7:00PM (11/19) – 310 Tappan St

Victims reported that upon returning home they observed that their large jar filled with coins was empty and found that an Ann Kline diamond watch and a large gold antique ring were missing from their apartment. There were no signs of forced entry.

November 18th 2008 Police Reports

Arrest

  • Occurred at 8:00PM (11/18) – 525 Harvard St

Police officers were dispatched to a report of a shoplifter being held at a T.J Max. Upon arrival police met with store officials who reported that the suspect had shoplifted two Vidal Sassoon haircutting kits. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had an active warrant and was placed under arrest for the warrant and was charged with larceny under $250.

  • Occurred at 8:00PM (11/18) – Carlton St/ Monmouth St

An officer on patrol stopped a suspicious person after watching the suspect look into several car windows. Further investigation revealed that the suspect was in possession of an illegal substance and was placed under arrest for possession of a Class E substance.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 11:30PM (11/17) and 6:00PM (11/18) – 432 Washington St

Victim reported that sometime overnight someone had broken a small pane of glass on her front door. It appeared that a small rock had been thrown at the window causing the damage.

  • Occurred between 2:40PM (11/18) and 3:00PM (11/18) – 407 Harvard St

Victim reported that he had parked his vehicle at a meter in front of a store at the above address. Upon returning to his vehicle he observed that someone had keyed it causing damage to the entire left side of the vehicle.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 3:00PM (11/18) and 5:30 (11/18) – 1090 Beacon St

Victim reported that upon returning to her parked vehicle she observed that her front passenger side window had been smashed. She noticed that her Garmin Street Pilot C330 GPS unit, charger, and CD’s were missing.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 9:30AM (11/18) and 6:00PM (11/18) – 81 Greenough St

Victims reported that upon returning home they observed that the third floor window of their fire escape had been smashed. They noticed that their Mac G4 IBook laptop valued at $2000, IPod, Sony digital camera valued at $250, and three assorted rings were taken from their home. They also observed that their IMac computer valued at $1500 had been damaged.

Breaking and Entering/ Larceny MV

  • Occurred between 1:40PM (11/17) and 2:25PM (11/17) – 25 Lenox St

Victim reported that upon returning to her vehicle she observed that her front passenger window had been pried open. She noticed that her Magellan GPS Unit and charger valued at $200 were missing from the vehicle.

  • Occurred between 10:00AM (11/17) and 12:00PM (11/17) – 105 Colchester St

Victim reported that upon returning to his parked vehicle he observed that his driver’s side window had been smashed. He noticed that his Tom Tom GPS unit valued at $250 which was located on the front windshield was missing.

November 14th – 16th 2008 Police Reports

Sexual Assault

  • Occurred between 10:00AM (10/28) and 6:00AM (10/29) – 515 Heath St

Police were dispatched to a report of a sexual assault. Upon arrival police met with the 15 year old juvenile victim who stated that she agreed to meet in person with a male suspect after meeting online through “Craigslist”. After meeting with the male suspect, she was sexually assaulted. The male suspect was placed under arrest.

Breaking and Entering/ Larceny MV

  • Occurred between 5:30PM (11/16) and 9:45PM (11/16) – 646 Brookline Ave

Victim reported that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that his passenger side window had been broken. He noticed that his vehicle had been rummaged through and a bag containing three pairs of pants, three pairs of black socks, and a small black t - shirt were missing.

  • Occurred between 9:00PM (11/15) and 11:00AM (11/16) – 18 Browne St

Victim reported that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that his rear passenger side window had been smashed. He noticed that his daughter’s purple wallet and his driver’s license were missing.

  • Occurred between 4:46PM (11/14) and 6:00PM (11/14) – 39 Marshall St

Victim reported that upon returning to his parked vehicle he observed that his driver’s side window had been smashed. He found that his Magellan GPS unit valued at $150 which was on the windshield was missing.

Larceny

  • Occurred at 5:09PM (11/16) – 400 Washington St

Police on patrol were dispatched to a report of shoplifters being held at a CVS. Upon arrival police met with the store owner who stated that the suspects had tried to return a un -purchased item for cash. The suspects will be summoned to court for shoplifting.

  • Occurred between 2:00PM (11/05) and 10:00PM (11/05) – 211 St Paul St

Victim reported that someone had stolen two packages from the front foyer to his residence. The packages contained several P90X beach body and chin up bar workout DVD’s valued at approximately $250.

  • Occurred between 8:00PM (11/14) and 8:12PM (11/14) – 155 Harvard St

Police on patrol were dispatched to a Stop and Shop for a report of a larceny of a purse. Upon arrival police met with the victim who reported that as she was retrieving some items from the bottom shelf in an aisle, someone reached into her cart and took her purse. The purse contained a Samsung cell phone, some personal cards and $10 in cash.

  • Occurred between 2:16PM (11/14) and 2:30PM (11/14) – 1322 Beacon St

Police were dispatched to a report of a larceny at a CVS. Upon arrival police met with the store manager who stated that a female had entered the store and placed several items into a bag. After the manger confronted the suspect she dumped the items out of her bag and fled the store on a bicycle. The suspect is described as a black female with blonde hair, wearing a black hat, a white hooded sweatshirt, and tan pants.

  • Occurred at 10:30AM (11/14) – 66 Tappan St

Victim reported that upon returning to retrieve her backpack from the girl’s locker room at Brookline High School she observed that it had been moved into another dressing room. She noticed that her T- Mobile Sidekick slide phone and about $11 in cash were missing from her book bag.


  • Occurred between 10:00AM (11/14) and 3:00PM (11/14) – 295 Reservoir Rd

Victims reported that upon returning home they observed that several rooms had been rummaged through. They noticed that an Apple Mac Book Pro, two I-Pods, an I-Pod speaker set, three silver necklaces and a Samsung digital camera had been taken. Entry was gained through the front door that had been left unlocked.

Attempted Larceny

  • Occurred between 5:00PM (11/13) and 7:00AM (11/14) – Crafts Rd/ Reservoir Rd

Victim reported that upon returning to his place of employment he observed that someone had ripped the handle off his locked tool box. No entry was gained into the tool box.

Burglary

Police were dispatched to a residential alarm. Upon arrival a search of the home revealed that the middle pane of the basement window had been broken. After searching the home it appeared that nothing was missing.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 8:00PM (11/14) and 8:00AM (11/15) – 1799 Beacon St

Reporting party stated that the rear stairwell door to his apartment building had been damaged. He observed that the bolt lock had been forcibly removed from the door.

Arrest

  • Occurred between 8:00PM (10/16) and 8:40PM (11/12) - 905 Hammond St

Victim reported that that her boyfriend’s friend had taken two checks off her bedroom dresser and cashed them under his name. The suspect was arrested and charged with larceny by check, larceny from a building and forgery.

Police on patrol stopped an individual after he was seen suspiciously peering into parked vehicles. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had several warrants. He was placed under arrest for the outstanding warrants.

Arson

  • Occurred between 2:53AM (11/14) and 3:20AM (11/14) – 129 Fisher Ave

Police were dispatched to a report of a triggered fire alarm at a dormitory at Newbury College. Upon arrival police met with fire officials who stated that a student had purposely burnt a flyer on the second floor causing the alarm to go off. He was charged with one count of arson for lighting a fire in an occupied dormitory and malicious damage of property.

November 13th Police Reports

Arrest

  • Occurred between 7:50PM (11/13) and 8:40PM (11/13) – 1244 Boylston St

Police on patrol were dispatched to a report of trespassing. Upon arrival police found a male suspect asleep on the floor of the building’s bathroom. After waking the suspect further investigation revealed that the suspect had two active warrants and was placed under arrest.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 2:27PM (11/13) and 4:00PM (11/13) – Carlton St/ Ivy St

Victim reported that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that the passenger side window had been smashed. He noticed that his black rolling suitcase that contained his Toshiba laptop, wallet and personal papers, were missing.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 10:44AM (11/12) – Washington St/ Holden St

An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle after observing that its front plate was missing. Further investigation revealed that the driver was operating a motor vehicle without a license and was placed under arrest.

Breaking and Entering/ Larceny MV

  • Occurred between 12:00PM (11/12) and 12:59PM (11/12) – 60 Babcock St

Victim reported that upon retuning to her vehicle she observed that someone had broken in. Upon inspecting her vehicle she noticed that her cousin’s handicap placard which had been hanging from the rearview mirror and about $5 in loose change from her center console was missing.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 6:11PM (11/12) – 315 Harvard St

Police were dispatched to a report of a shoplifting that had just occurred. Upon arrival police met with the store manager who reported that two men had concealed several items from his store in their pants. When confronted the subjects emptied their pants and fled the store. The first suspect is described as a middle – aged, Middle Eastern male, 5'09”, wearing a black ball cap, a long wool dark coat, and blue nylon warm up pants. The second suspect is described as a middle aged, Middle Eastern male, 6'3”, wearing a dark ball cap, a black colored waist length puffy nylon jacket, and denim pants.

Breaking and Entering/ Larceny MV

  • Occurred between 6:10AM (11/10) and 6:30AM (11/10) – 1040 Beacon St

Victim reported that upon returning to her vehicle she observed that her wallet was missing. Victim reports that she had left her vehicle unlocked. Nothing else appeared to be missing.

  • Occurred between 12:00PM (10/08) and 8:00AM (11/10) – 850 Commonwealth Ave

Reporting party states that he observed damage done to a vehicle he was servicing at his place of employment. He observed that someone had cut through the roof of the vehicle and noticed that the glove compartment had been rummaged through. After notifying the owner, it appears that nothing was missing from the vehicle.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 11:30AM(11/10) and 6:30PM (11/10) – 44 St Paul St

Victim reported that upon reviewing her bank statement she observed that there were several fraudulent purchases made to her account. After checking her purse she observed that her wallet was missing. She reported last seeing her wallet at 1 Brookline Place. Nothing else appeared to be missing.

Victim reported that upon returning to retrieve his bicycle which he parked at a Devotion street sign he observed that the bike and lock were both missing. The bicycle is described as an orange spray painted bike with taped handle bars valued at $150.

Reporting party states that someone had removed $65 in cash from an envelope stored in a locked safe at her place of employment. An investigation is underway.

Arrest

Police officers on patrol stopped three individuals who matched the description of suspects seen breaking into various motor vehicles. After being positively identified by witnesses police arrested all three suspects. Recovered was a stolen Garmin GPS Unit. The suspects broke into a total of three motor vehicles.

An officer on foot patrol observed an individual consuming an illegal substance on a park bench. Further investigation revealed that there was a warrant out for his arrest. The suspect was arrested for the warrant and was charged with inhaling a substance releasing a toxic vapor.

Reporting party states that she noticed that her landlord’s door had been kicked in and observed a light skinned male walk out into the driveway. A search revealed that two other apartments were also broken into and an attempt was on another. Suspect could not be located and it is unclear if anything is missing.

Victim reported that he heard noises in his house during the night and upon waking up he observed an unknown person in his home. After confronting the individual the suspect fled the home. The front door of the house had been left unlocked and it appeared nothing was missing. The suspect is described as a black middle- aged male, 5’9” wearing dark colored clothing with a dark colored puffy coat.

  • Occurred between 3:00PM (11/08) and 11:24AM (11/09) – 688 Washington St

Victim reported that sometime overnight someone had broken the middle window to her garage. Nothing appeared to be missing.

  • Occurred between 7:00PM (11/07) and 12:00PM (11/08) – 1 Auburn Ct

Victim reported that upon returning to her vehicle she observed that the passenger side of her windshield had been damaged. It appeared that someone had thrown a bottle or some sort of glass object at the windshield causing the damage.

  • Occurred between 2:30AM (11/08) and 8:54AM (11/08) – 39 Auburn St

Victim reported that upon returning to her vehicle she observed damage done to her front windshield. There were several pieces of glass found near her vehicle that appeared to be from a beer mug.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 4:35PM (11/09) and 4:40PM (11/09) – 1324 Beacon St (Walgreens)

An officer on patrol was dispatched to a report of an attempted shoplifting. Upon arrival the officer met with the store manger who stated that a male suspect had taken two cartons of Newport cigarettes and had attempted to flee the store. The manager was able to recover the cartons but the suspect fled the store. The suspect is described as a middle – aged black male, 6’3”, wearing a black hat, a blue hooded sweater and glasses.

Victim reported that upon returning home from a trip she observed that her Mac Laptop valued at $2800 was missing from her bookshelf located in her bedroom. She reported that the only people who had access to her home were contractors doing work on her home. A follow-up investigation is underway.

Victim reported that upon returning to retrieve her bicycle which was locked to a pole she observed that it was missing. The master cable lock to her bicycle had been cut and left behind at the scene. The bicycle is described as a woman’s blue Jeep mountain bike valued at $200.

Graffiti Law

  • Occurred at 3:20AM (11/09) – Heath St/ Cary Rd

An officer on patrol observed graffiti written on a fence. Written on the wall were the letters “artisreslstance” in red spray paint with an American flag drawn beside it.

Victim reports that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that the front passenger side window had been smashed and found that his Garmin Nuvi 100 GPS Unit had been taken from his front windshield. Nothing else appeared to be missing.

Victim reported that upon returning to her vehicle she observed that the driver’s side window had been smashed and that her Garmin GPS Unit valued at $360 was missing.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 2:00PM (11/08) and 11:25PM (11/08) – 163 Coolidge St

Victims reported that upon returning home they observed that their front door was wide open. Upon entering their home they observed that their bedroom window screen had been removed. They also noticed that their Dell Laptop and a jewelry box containing assorted jewelry were missing. Also missing is a 6” glass boot filled with coins. It appeared that the suspects had entered through the bedroom window and fled out the front door.

Police on patrol were dispatched to a residential alarm. Upon arrival police observed that the rain guard to the basement window had been removed and found that one of the panes of glass had been smashed. The window was propped open by a rectangular plastic box. A search revealed that there was no one in the house and an investigation was conducted.

  • Occurred between 11:45AM (11/07) and 6:15PM (11/07) – 30 Catlin Rd

Victim reported that after returning home she observed that her kitchen window had been forced opened. She noticed several muddy foot prints leading to several rooms of her home. Nothing appeared to be disturbed or missing from her home.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 1:45AM (11/08) – Harvard St/ Longwood Ave

An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver was operating the motor vehicle without a license and had two active warrants. The driver was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred at 1:28AM (11/09) – 79 Thatcher St

Police were dispatched to a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival police met with the reporting parties who stated that they had a conflict with two uninvited male suspects who had entered their home during their house party. They stated that their first floor apartment window had been smashed by one of the suspects. Police arrested a suspect and charged him with malicious destruction of property, and disorderly person.

November 5th 2008 Police Reports

Burglary

  • Occurred between 2:00AM (11/05) and 8:00AM (11/05) – 334 Newton St

Victim reported that sometime in the afternoon someone entered his home and stole his HP Laptop valued at $1200 from his living room. It appeared that entry was gained through an unlocked sliding deck door on the second floor of his home.

Breaking and Entering/ Larceny MV

  • Occurred between 9:00AM (11/04) and 6:35AM (11/05) – 193 Clark St

Victims reported that sometime overnight someone had broken into their two vehicles that were parked in their driveway. Entry was gained by smashing windows of the vehicles. Each vehicle had a GPS unit stolen from their front windshield. Victims also found personal papers scattered in and outside of their vehicle.

November 3rd 2008 Police Reports

Larceny

  • Occurred between 6:00PM (10/31) and 7:00PM (11/02) – 47 Winchester St

Victim reports that her husband’s bicycle had been stolen from the rear porch of their apartment building. The bicycle is described as a black men’s Cannondale mountain bike.

  • Occurred between 9:00PM (11/02) and 10:00PM (11/02) – 33 Pond Ave

Victim reported that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that his rear license plate was missing. It appeared that someone had ripped off the license plate since there was a small piece of plate remaining and attached to the right screw.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 9:00PM (10/03) – Washington St/ Thayer St

Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival police observed the driver of the vehicle walking away from the scene. After stopping the driver further investigation revealed that he was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and not being duly licensed.

Attempted Burglary

  • Occurred between 1:30PM (11/02) and 4:00PM (11/03) – 104 University Rd

Victim reported that while at home he heard a noise come from the side door. After checking the door he observed that there was damage done to the frame and main bolt lock. It appeared that there was no entry gained and nothing appeared to be missing or out of place.

Graffiti

  • Occurred between 3:30PM (11/02) and 8:53AM (11/03) – 50 School St

Officers were dispatch to a report of graffiti. Officers met with a school official who stated that several doors of the school had been tagged with graffiti. One of the doors had “Obama” spray painted in white. There were two other doors that had the tag “NS Run 413” in white spray paint and another two doors that had markings spray painted in white.

Reporting party states that he observed graffiti written on his vehicle that was parked outside his business. The graffiti was written on the driver’s side of the vehicle using black spray paint.

October 31st – November 2nd Police Reports

Graffiti Law

  • Occurred between 5:30PM (11/01) and 7:00AM (11/02) – 361 Washington St

Reporting party stated that he observed graffiti written on a door of the main library located on Washington St. There were two tags, one written in white spray paint and other written red spray paint.

  • Occurred between 5:30PM (11/01) and 7:00AM (11/02) – 50 School St

School official reported that he found graffiti spray painted on a door at Pierce School. The graffiti was done using white spray paint and was approximately three feet wide and six feet long. No damage was found on the door.

  • Occurred between 5:00PM (10/25) and 5:00PM (10/29) – 10 Monmouth Ct

Reporting party states that he observed graffiti written on the right side of his home in the alleyway. The graffiti was written on the outer stone wall of his home using red neon paint and read “Silly Girl”.

  • Occurred between 10:00PM (10/31) and 8:26AM (11/01) – 34 Babcock St

Reporting party states that there was damage done to the wall of her garage. The graffiti was done using black paint and read “Hazel team 2AMA0X”.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 10:00Pm (10/31) and 11:30AM (11/01) – 96 Fuller St

Victim reported that upon returning to her parked vehicle she observed that her windshield had been smashed. The damage appeared to be done from a brick that was found on the ground next to the vehicle. Nothing appeared to be missing,

  • Occurred between 5:00PM (10/31) and 8:01AM (10/31) – 78 Brington Rd

Victim reports that upon returning to his parked vehicle he observed that his rear window was broken. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 2:34AM (11/01) – Beacon St/ Harvard St

An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the driver the officer observed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the driver was operating under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest. The driver was also given a citation for a red light violation, and for making an illegal turn.

MV Theft

  • Occurred between 11:00AM (11/02) and 2:42PM (10/02) – 1731 Beacon St

Victim reported that upon returning to her vehicle she observed that it was missing from her parking space. The vehicle is a 1993 Green Jeep Cherokee with a Colby College sticker on the back window.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 3:40PM (10/31) and 3:50PM (10/31) – 19 Copley St

Police were dispatch to a report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival police met with the reporting party who stated that upon returning home she observed an unknown individual sleeping on her couch. A search revealed that the suspect had taken important papers belonging to the homeowners. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with B&E daytime and larceny from a building

Victim reported that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that the contents of his glove compartment had been removed and had been placed on the passenger seat and floor. The vehicle had been left unlocked and nothing appeared to be missing.
