Friday, November 30th

9:30AM-  An officer in the area of Harvard Street and Beacon Street was flagged down by a taxi driver who informed him that there appeared to be a possible pedestrian struck by a car and the vehicle involved left the scene.  Upon arrival to Harvard Street and Longwood Avenue the officer noticed a female holding the back of her head being assisted by two female witnesses.  A witness reported a male operator in a gray SUV drove up behind the victim’s vehicle and drove around her car striking the car on the rear driver’s side bumper.  The victim who was driving a red SUV exited her car to inspect the damage and viewed the male operator accelerate and strike the rear driver’s side bumper.  The victim raised her hands and yelled stop.  The male operator then appeared to drive towards the victim striking her with the front of the vehicle causing her to fall backwards and hit her head on the ground.  The male left the scene driving southbound on Harvard Street.  Two other witnesses confirmed the events.  Officers were able to locate a plate number using variations provided by a witness.  The registration matched the description of the vehicle and the suspect.  The suspect was located at his home and brought to the station for questioning.  After an interview he was placed under arrest for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and leaving the scene of an accident. 

11:15AM- A package theft report was taken on Parkman Street.  The complainant reported on 11/29 around 12:44PM he received an email confirmation that six packages had been delivered to his address and left in the outside vestibule.  He arrived home around 4:00PM and found two packages missing.   The two packages contained clothing from Nordstrom.  This case is under investigation.

2:40PM- Officers responded to Harvard Street regarding a shoplifting incident that had just occurred.  A store employee reported around 2:30PM he noticed a male possibly in his forties wearing a pea coat jacket and a maroon colored winter hat walk through the store placing several clothing items in a back pack in a pushcart.  At one point he took off his jacket and put on a winter jacket taken from a clothing rack.  At 2:40PM he walked past the registers with the pushcart full of items with the jacket still on.  The employee confronted the suspect who fled towards Coolidge Corner.  Security Surveillance footage was viewed of the suspect.  This case is being investigated.

Thursday, November 29th

10:15AM- Officers were dispatched to Boylston Street for a report of a break and entering.  Employees of a local business arrived at work to find the front glass door had been smashed.  Video surveillance footage showed a male party several seconds after he had smashed the front door glass.  He was observed entering the office and checking under the front desk as well as behind and under other tables and drawers.  The suspects exited the business.  This case is being investigated.

4:50PM- A report of a car break was reported at the station.  The complainant stated on Wednesday 11/28 around 6:00PM she parked her car in her assigned spot in front of the Heath School on Eliot Street.  When she returned to her car on Thursday 11/29 in the morning she noticed that it had been entered and her personal papers were on the seat.  A few items were taken as well.   The car was left unlocked.  This case is under investigation. 

7:14PM- A package theft report was taken on Longwood Avenue.  The reporting party stated she had placed an order on November 23^rd and received an email on 11/29 that the packages had been delivered at her front door in the afternoon.  When the reporting party returned home around 6:00PM the packages were not at her front door or in the vestibule of the building.  This case is being investigated.

Wednesday, November 28th

Shortly after 6 AM this morning Boston Police informed us they found a Menorah in West Roxbury at Church Street and Weld St.  The Menorah is described as being about 6 feet tall and over three hundred pounds. The Boston officer had already determined it had been taken from Temple Emeth in Brookline, a short distance from the location it was found. The Menorah was taken back to the Temple. It appears the statue might have been targeted by scrap metal thieves, due to its size, however we have not eliminated the possibility of this being considered a hate crime. The matter is under investigation.

1:54AM- Officers observed graffiti on the exterior brick wall of the small gym at Driscoll School.  The graffiti appeared to be a tree with a smiley face and “fish” spray painted in white on the Westbourne Terrace side of the school.  This case is being investigated.

9:05AM- A larceny report was taken on Abbotsford Road.  The complainant reported viewing a male carrying a bike frame without the front wheel.  He approached an apartment on Abbotsford Road, went on the porch and took the front wheel off a black and red Schwinn Midmoor bicycle.  The bicycle was secured to the front porch with a bike lock.  Officers spoke to the homeowner who stated he had last seen the front wheel attached to the bike at 7:00AM.  This case is under investigation.

10:18AM- Officers were dispatched to Sears Road for a report of annoying text messages.  The reporting party reported her son, had been receiving personal messages to “meet up for fun” and other similar invitations along with links to suggestive photos.  She contacted her phone providers and phone manufacturer who told her to block and delete the messages.  This case is being investigated.

12:42PM- Brookline Police received a report of graffiti on the Clinton Path Tunnel.  Upon arrival an officer observed several tags made with white spray paint.  The reporting party believes the incident occurred between 11/21 and 11/28.  This case is under investigation.

Tuesday, November 27th

8:30AM- A report was taken on Wolcott Road.  The reporting party stated she received a phone call on the family’s home line on 11/26.  The husband picked up the phone.  A male voice stated that a family member of theirs had been arrested in Baltimore and ended the call.  The phone rang again thirty minutes later in which the wife picked up the phone.  She reported the male on the phone stated he was the family members defense attorney, relayed the crime involved and stated she needed to send bail money.  He informed her that the money needed to be in cash.  He instructed her to go to the bank, withdraw the cash and call him.  She withdrew the cash from a bank and called the individual when she returned home.  He told her to send the cash to a location in New York and once he received the bail money her family member would be released from jail.  On 11/27 she received a call at 9:00AM that the defense attorney had received the money.  The reporting party called the family member a few hours later and was told he had never been arrested in Baltimore as he lives in another state.  The reporting party then notified the police.

8:30PM- Officers were dispatched to Kent Street for a package theft report.  The complainant reported leaving her apartment at 7:15PM and noticing her package inside the locked door but did not bring the package to her apartment.  When she arrived home at 8:30PM she saw her package was gone.  This case is under investigation.

Monday, November 26th

 Monday, November 26^th

11:09- A dog bite was reported by a client of a doggy day care in Brookline.  The reporting party reported sending her dog to the day care on Beacon Street on 11/17 around 4:00PM.  She received a message from the owner of the day care stating that her dog had been attacked by another dog and sustained an injury.  The dog belonged to the owner of the day care.  The owner of the victim noticed a large gash on her dogs left cheek when she arrived.  This case is under investigation. 

5:28PM- Officers responded to a report of an indecent assault and battery at a business on Beacon Street.  Upon arrival officers were met by the female victim and the store manager.  The victim reported she was waiting to pay at the register at the front of the store when a male, standing behind her, grabbed the bottom and under area of her buttocks over her pants.  She stated that she did not consent to it. She turned and looked at the individual who appeared as if nothing had happened, then he exited the store. The victim left the store and returned about an hour later and reported the assault. The store manager called the police and then began viewing the camera footage on the in-store surveillance system.  He was joined a short time later by the responding officers. The surveillance footage showed the assault as the victim described it. It also showed the suspect re-enter the store a short time after the incident, purchase an item and exit the store again. As an officer concluded his viewing of the camera footage he exited the security office and noticed an individual matching the suspect’s description in the rear of the store.  Officers were able to positively identify the man as the suspect and placed under arrest. He was charged with Indecent Assault and Battery on a person over 14 years of age. 

5:45PM- A shoplifting incident report was taken on Beacon Street.  A store employee reported at 3:21PM a young male walked into the store and stood around the playing cards for about two minutes.  He then walked to the back of the store and left about two minutes later.  The employee then looked at the cards section and noticed a deck of cards missing.  He exited the store to look for the young male.  He observed him running east on Beacon Street towards Coolidge Corner.  This case is being investigated. 

7:07PM- Officers were dispatched to Kent Street for a report of a package theft.  The complainant reported ordering a package.  He believes he saw the package on the table inside his building on 11/24 when he was leaving however when he returned home later in the day there were no packages addressed to him.  The package was inside of a secure second door of the front vestibule.  Officers observed several packages addressed to other occupants of the building.  The package was confirmed delivered on 11/24.  This case is under investigation.

Sunday, November 25th

3:00PM- A report of a larceny of a bike was taken on Chestnut Street.  The complainant reported his bike was stolen from the back hallway of his residence.  It was not secured.  The bike was described as a black and yellow racing bike.  This case is being investigated.

6:14PM- Officers received notification of a shoplifting incident that had occurred on Beacon Street.  The suspects, male and female were described to officers.  Two individuals fitting the description were located at a bus stop on Harvard Street and Beacon Street.  Video surveillance at the store confirmed that the two individuals at the bus stop had committed a larceny from the store.  Bags found on the two individuals contained items the store employees observed the suspects take.  The items included 17 bottles of Biolage Shampoo, 9 cans of Axe deodorant spray, three bottles of Dove moisturizer and two bottles of coke.  Both individuals were placed under arrest.

Saturday, November 24th

9:02AM- Officers noticed an empty package at the corner of Saint Paul Street and Thatcher Street and another package in front of a building on Saint Paul Street.  The officers proceeded to the address listed on the first package where the recipient informed officers that she had ordered a package that was confirmed delivered but had not received it.  This case is under investigation.

Officers proceeded to the address on the second package.  The owner was able to be contacted by cellphone who confirmed ordering the package on 11/9.  The package was confirmed delivered on 11/23.  The contents were still in the package.  This case is being investigated.

9:53AM- While investigating package thefts officers found an empty plastic shipping bag on Naples Road.  A package theft had recently occurred at the address where this package was found.  The delivery address was located on the shipping label.  When officers arrived at the address they spoke with the person the package was addressed to.  She confirmed placing an order on 10/20 and had received a delivery confirmation.  This case is being investigated.

9:37AM- Officers located an empty box on the corner of Pleasant Street and John Street.  They were unable to locate an owner.  This case is under investigation.

Thursday, November 22nd

8:39AM- Officers were dispatched to Commonwealth Avenue to take a larceny report.  The victim reported arriving to the work out facility around 7:05AM.  He secured his personal effects in a locker and placed a lock on it.  When he returned around 8:40AM he found the lock missing and most of his items gone.  He searched nearby lockers and recovered a few items but others were still missing including a laptop and his wallet.  This case is being investigated.

Tuesday, November 20th

10:41AM- A larceny report was taken for a stolen cell phone.  A parent reported their child’s phone had been stolen on 11/14.  The reporting party stated his son was in class on 11/14 from 2:10PM to 2:55PM.  The cellphone was in the pocket of his jacket at the start of class.  When he returned to it at the end of class he noticed the phone was missing.  This case is under investigation.

12:15PM- Officers were dispatched to Beacon Street for a report of a shoplifting incident.  The stores assistant manager reported around 12:10PM an unknown male in his late forties to early fifties wearing dark pants, a dark hooded sweatshirt and a shoulder bag entered the store and went to the soap isle.  The individual began placing multiple bottles of body wash into his bag.  The assistant manager confronted the individual.  The suspect apologized, returned the items and fled the store.  In the last two weeks there have been two other separate shoplifting incidents involving larcenies of the same type of body wash.  The store manager confirmed the suspect in this incident is not the same as the suspect from the previous incidents.  This case is being investigated.

Monday, November 19th

9:30AM- A larceny report was taken on High Street.  The reporting party stated three plants that were purchased for the facility’s community room were stolen from the community room sometime between 3:00PM on 11/18 and 9:00AM on 11/19.  This case is being investigated.

8:32PM- Officers responded to Beacon Street for a report of a shoplifting incident.  The store manager described the suspect to officers and reported the suspect attempted to steal multiple bottles of body wash.  A store employee confronted the suspect who then dropped the merchandise and fled the store in an unknown direction.  Surveillance footage confirmed the details.  This case is under investigation.

Sunday November 18th

2:00PM- A report of malicious damage was taken at the Holyhood Cemetery.  The reporting party stated the last time she visited the family gravesite was mid September and nothing was out of order.  When she visited on 11/18/18 she found that the flag next to the family headstone had been burned.  An officer observed pieces of the stick on the ground and remnants of ashes on the gravestone.  This case is being investigated. 

Saturday, November 17th

4:53AM-  A report of malicious damage to vehicle was taken on Egmont Street.  The reporting party stated she parked her vehicle on Egmont Street around 1:00AM and returned to the vehicle around 4:30AM.  She started to drive her vehicle for about 25 feet before she noticed it felt different.  She exited the car and observed all four of her tires were flat.   She believes they were punctured purposely. This case is being investigated.

8:00AM-Officers were dispatched to Chapel Street for a report of a break, entering and larceny.  The complainant stated he arrived to his building on Chapel Street on 11/15/18 around 11:15PM.  He left his vehicle with the valet service that runs parking for the residents of the building.  When he went to retrieve the vehicle the next morning he noticed an item was missing from the back seat.  This case is under investigation.

3:45PM-  Officers responded to a call for a shoplifting incident on Beacon Street.  The store manager reported the suspect entered the store around 3:35PM and left around 3:39PM.  The manager described the suspect in detail and reported the suspect stole three bottles of body wash.  This case is being investigated.

4:50PM- Officers received a report of a shoplifting incident on Harvard Street.  The loss prevention officer reported the suspect entered the store around 3:53PM and left around 4:00PM.  The suspect was described to officers and clothing was reported stolen.  This case is under investigation.

Thursday, November 15th

9:13AM- Officers responded to a call for a larceny report.  The reporting party stated he ordered a package which had been confirmed delivered on 10/12/18 although he had not received the package.  This case is under investigation.

Wednesday, November 14th

10:55AM- Officers responded to the area of Boylston Street and High street for a report of road rage.  The reporting party stated that while traveling east bound on Boylston Street she passed through the intersection of Cypress Street cutting off a gray Ford Escape. The operator of the Ford drove next to her making aggressive gestures and giving her the middle finger.  The reporting party allowed him to pass and drove behind him.  He began slamming on his brakes in front of her.  When she changed lanes he swerved in front of her and slammed on his brakes again.  The reporting party exited her vehicle and approached the Ford asking him why he was trying to cause an accident. The driver of the Ford then exited his vehicle holding a gold colored lacrosse stick in his hand and he began swinging the stick at her.  The reporting party put her hands up in front of her face and the stick hit her left hand. She then took the bottle of water she was holding and threw some water on him and retreated back to her car. The Ford driver then slammed the butt end of the stick onto the hood of the car casing two half dollar size dents. The reporting party then called the police. She described the suspect and a partial plate to officers on scene.  Officers in the Cypress/ Boylston Street area observed a car matching the description making an illegal U-turn and stopped him.  The man in the vehicle matched the description of the suspect the reporting party described.  The operator was arrested for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle and issued a citation for an illegal U-turn.

7:05PM- A report of a shoplifting incident was taken on Harvard Street.  The loss prevention manager of the store led officers to the suspect upon their arrival.  The suspect reported taking three items, exiting the store and placing them in her personal vehicle.  An officer recovered the items which appeared to be damaged by having the straps removed from the purses in order to remove the security tags.  The suspect is being charged with Larceny Shoplifting and Malicious Destruction of Property. 

Monday, November 12th

7:50AM- An animal bite that occurred on 11/8 was reported.  The reporting party stated that on 11/8 around 9:30AM she was jogging and pushing a baby carriage on Heath Street onto Cramond Road.  As she turned onto Cramond Road she saw a landscaping crew working and the crew’s cars parked across the street.  She observed a male standing at one of the parked cars open the car door. A dog exited the opened door and ran around the car to the front of the vehicle, and headed across the street toward her. She observed the dog to be unleashed. The dog paused at the front of the baby carriage she was pushing, quickly moved around the carriage and behind the reporting party.  The dog then hopped up and bit her on the hip. She remained calm, did not scream, as she was trying to not enrage the dog or panic the baby.  She continued slowly jogging, moving the baby and herself further away from the dog.  She then observed the owner placing the dog back in the vehicle and approached him to request his information, and the dog’s information.  Officers contacted him and he was issues a bylaw citation for a Dog at Large and Bitten or Injuring a Person.

12:22PM- Officers received notification of a shoplifting incident occurring at a store on Harvard Street.  The description of the suspect was radioed to responding officers.  An employee from the store was said to have followed the suspect to another store on Harvard Street.  The suspect was observed by the employee entering the establishment.  Officers that arrived on scene were met by the employee who provided an updated description of the suspect.  An officer located two people arguing towards the rear of the store and entered an employee’s only section where he found the two people one matching the description of the suspect.  The second person, the store manager of the second location reported witnessing the suspect place items into his backpack.  The suspect was placed under arrest.  After acquiring the suspects identification officers were made aware that he had four arrest warrants.   

Sunday, November 11th

12:10AM- Officers were dispatched to Beacon Street and Saint Paul Street for a past assault and battery.  The caller was following the assaulting party north on Saint Paul street towards Freeman Street.  The two individuals were located on Pleasant Street.  The victim, a cab driver reported picking up a person in the area of Kenmore square and driving him to a location on Beacon Street in Brookline.  The driver reported upon arriving at the destination the passenger did not have enough money to pay the fare so he exited the car and walked away.  The driver reported exiting the cab and walking toward the man insisting that he pay the fare.  The man refused and became assaultive, punching the driver.  The driver informed the defendant that he was calling the police and the defendant left the scene.  The driver followed the defendant from a distance on foot to Pleasant Street.  The defendant was located and will be summonsed to court for assault and battery.

Saturday, November 10th

3:00PM- Officers responded to Harvard Street for a larceny report.  The victim reported that around 12:45PM a subject entered the store and stole his cell phone and mail that was on the counter.  The subject was observed on camera entering the store, walking around appearing to steal loose mail off of a counter, placing it in a white plastic bag he was carrying and taking a black colored cell phone off a table and quickly exiting the store.  The suspect was described in detail to officers.  This case is being investigated. 

6:07PM- Officers were dispatched to Saint Paul Street for a break and entering of a motor vehicle.  The caller stated he parked his car on 11/9 around 4:00PM in his garage.  Around 7:00AM on 11/10 he noticed his vehicle had been rummaged through.  The glove compartment was left open, papers were thrown onto the floor of the vehicle, money and a few other items were taken.  The vehicle was left unlocked.  This case is under investigation.

Friday, November 9th

11:09AM- A report of a break, entering and larceny of a motor vehicle was made at the Brookline Police Station.  The reporting party stated he parked his vehicle overnight on 11/8 around 9:06PM at the John Street/Babcock Street Lot.  When he returned to his vehicle on 11/9 around 8:00AM he noticed his bag was missing from the rear seat.  This case is being investigated.

3:38PM- Officers assisted in attempting to locate a missing vehicle on Still Street.  The reporting party stated he parked his vehicle in its assigned parking spot around 6:30PM on 11/8 and locked the doors.  He noticed his vehicle was missing on 11/9 around 3:30PM.  Officers searched the area and contacted tow companies yielding negative results.  This case is under investigation.

Thursday, November 8th

9:33AM- Officers were dispatched to Beacon St for a report of malicious damage.  A building manager reported that the glass window of the front door to the main entrance had been shattered.  His surveillance footage displayed a male subject kicking the glass window on 11/7 around 1:50PM.  This case is under investigation.

12:52PM- Officers took a report of an attempted break and entering of a home on University Road.  The reporting party stated her screen window had two holes cut in at each bottom corner and it was pushed open several inches.  This case is being investigated. 

3:00PM- A student from the Brookline High School reported her bike stolen during the school day.  The Schwinn bicycle was left unlocked in the quad around 8:20AM.  She returned around 2:30PM and discovered it was missing.  This case is under investigation. 

3:48PM- A larceny report was taken on Commonwealth Avenue.  The reporting party reported attending a local gym around 1:45PM.  He left items in an unlocked locker and when he returned around 3:45PM they were gone.  This case is being investigated.

11:10PM- A larceny from a building was reported on Pleasant Street.  The complainant relayed that her downstairs neighbor observed packages belonging to herself and the complainant in the foyer when she arrived home around 3:00PM.  She left the residence and returned around 6:20PM to find all the packages gone.  This case is under investigation. 

Wednesday, November 7th

8:30PM- A package theft was reported at the Brookline Police Station.  The complainant, residing on Juniper Street stated on 10/23 he placed an order for an electronic device.  The next day he received an email that the package had been shipped.  He received a notification on 10/26 that the package had been delivered at 10:14AM.  When he went to retrieve the package the following morning it was not there.  The apartment building has a locked front vestibule door.  This case is being investigated.
