Warrant Arrest: 08/20/2013 at 7:13 p.m. – Orchard Rd.
An officer observed a vehicle driving erratically while being chased by a woman. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Salisbury St. Upon questioning the operator of the vehicle, the officer learned the woman in pursuit of the car had a history of abuse towards the passenger of the vehicle. The passenger stated she was concerned the woman intended to assault her. A query of the suspect revealed she had a warrant. Officers identified the suspect on Orchard St. and she was placed under arrest.

Larceny: 08/20/2013 at 2:10 p.m. – Park St.
An officer was dispatched to Park St. after receiving a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the victim who stated a large sum of money was stolen from her wallet. No other items were reported missing.
Operating After Suspension: 08/21/2013 at 12:30 a.m. – Washington St./ Juniper St.
An officer observed a vehicle traveling at an accelerated rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Washington St. and Juniper St. A query of the driver’s information revealed he had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating After Suspension.

An officer was dispatched to a residence on Pond Av. after receiving a report of a past larceny of a bicycle. The victim stated his bike had been left unsecured in the building’s underground garage. The garage was equipped with video surveillance, which was reviewed. No suspects were able to be observed.

An officer was dispatched to an office on Harvard St. after receiving a report of a past Breaking and Entering. The building owner stated he believes someone attempted to gain entry into the office over the weekend. Three offices in the building showed signs of attempted entry, with only one office successfully opened. There are currently no suspects.

An officer was dispatched to a business on Commonwealth Av. after receiving a report of a larceny. The officer was met by the store’s manager and informed that two IPhones had been stolen from the store. According to the manager, a Caucasian male in his 40’s with a slim build and scruffy appearance had entered the store wishing to buy earphones for his son. The manager went to the storeroom to retrieve the earphones, but found the suspect gone upon his return. A short while later the manager noticed two IPhones missing from a box located behind the sale’s counter. The matter is currently under investigation.

An officer was dispatched to a business on Harvard St. after receiving a report of a larceny. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer who was currently with the suspect. The Loss Prevention Officer observed the suspect via video surveillance place several items into a shopping bag and then exit the store without paying, at which time the officer stopped her. The suspect was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.
Assault: 08/18/2013 at 9:29 p.m. – Pleasant St.
A vehicle passenger was asked for identification after officers observed him not wearing a seatbelt. A query of the suspect’s information revealed he had a warrant out of Stoughton District Court. The suspect was asked to step from the vehicle at which point he became agitated and pushed an officer. The suspect continued to resist arrest and several officers were required to subdue him. The suspect was placed under arrest for Assaulting an Officer and Actively Resisting Arrest for a Warrant.

Larceny: 08/16/2013 at 11:50 a.m. – Harvard St.
An officer was dispatched to a business on Harvard St. after receiving a report of a larceny. The store manager described two African American males who left the store without paying for a case of red bull. The manager followed the suspects to the parking lot where they attempted to get in a vehicle driven by a woman wearing a pink shirt, who would not let them in. At this time, the suspects dropped the case of red bull and fled on foot. Officers were able to locate all three suspects in the area; all suspects were positively identified by the store manager. The two males were placed under arrest for Shoplifting. A query of the female’s information revealed she was driving with an expired license. She was placed under arrest.

An officer was dispatched to a residence on Centre St. after receiving a report of a larceny. The officer was met by the victim who stated $94.00 was stolen from her wallet. The victim stated her wallet was secure inside the locked apartment when she briefly stepped out. Upon her return, she saw all of the money from her wallet was missing. The victim reported no other missing items.

An officer was dispatched to a business on Beacon St. after receiving a report of a larceny. The officer was met by an employee who stated a Bluetooth headset was stolen from the store. A review of video surveillance showed the suspect use a magnetic key to open a display case and remove the headset before leaving the store. The suspect is a Caucasian male in his 20’s with brown hair.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Beacon St. and Summit Av. after they were alerted that the GPS unit in the Bait Bike had been activated. Officers were able to quickly locate the Bait Bike and the suspect. The suspect was placed under arrest for Larceny.

An officer was dispatched to Beacon St. after receiving a report of a stolen bicycle. The victim left his bicycle unsecured on a bike rack for 2-3 minutes. Upon his return, the bicycle was gone.
Warrant Arrest: 8/18/2013 at 1:07 a.m. – Beacon St.
A random query of a vehicle’s information revealed the owner had a warrant out of Boston District Court. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Beacon St. The operator was confirmed to be the owner of the vehicle and was placed under arrest.
Larceny: 8/18/2013 at 5:53 p.m. – Boylston St.
While on the desk, an officer received a report of a possible bicycle theft. The witness stated he saw two teenage males take an unsecured bicycle from the porch of a residence. The witness stated their behavior seemed suspicious. He described the first suspect as a Caucasian male in his late teens, and the second suspect as an African American male also in his late teens. An officer was dispatched to the residence where the bike was taken. The officer was met by the victim who confirmed that his bicycle was missing.

Burglary: 8/18/2013 at 8:30 p.m. – Cotswold Rd.
An officer was dispatched to a residence on Cotswold Rd. after receiving a report of a past burglary. The victim stated she was out of town for the weekend, but shortly after arriving home she saw all the jewelry from her bedroom closet was missing. A window in the basement of the residence was slightly ajar, but there were no other signs of disturbance. The victim did not report anything else missing.

An officer was dispatched to a residence on Babcock St. after receiving a report of a past larceny. The victim stated she had just noticed a set of silverware had been removed from her bedroom bureau. The bureau was always kept locked and showed no signs of damage. The victim remembered seeing the silverware about a week prior, but had not checked the bureau since. A search of the residence revealed no other missing items.

An officer was dispatched to a business on Beacon St. after receiving a report of a past larceny. The officer was met by the owner of the business who stated she recently noticed a box of rings missing from a display case. The business was not equipped with a video surveillance system and the owner was unsure of who may have taken the box.

Officers were dispatched to the Harvard St. area after receiving a report of a shoplifter who had just fled from Walgreens. The shoplifter was described as an African American male, between 40 and 50 years of age, wearing a maroon t-shirt and carrying a black backpack. An officer observed a male fitting the description on Washington St. and initiated a stop. A search of the backpack revealed several of the stolen items. The suspect was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

An officer was dispatched to a residence after receiving a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival, the officer was greeted by the victim who stated a month prior, on July 23rd or 24th, she had placed four tennis rackets in a box in the front hall of her building to be picked up by UPS. She had only just been notified that the party to whom she was sending the package had never received it. An inquiry of the box’s tracking number revealed that it was never picked up by UPS.
Burglary: 08/15/2013 at 10:13 p.m. – Beacon St.
Several officers were dispatched to a residence on Beacon St. after receiving a report of a break-in in progress through a skylight window. Upon arrival, the suspect had fled the scene but inspection of the skylight revealed that it had been tampered with. The resident stated he heard an odd noise coming from the roof and upon investigating it further saw the skylight was propped open. At this time, the victim notified the police. A search of the area did not reveal any suspects.

An officer was dispatched to St. Mary’s Church rectory on Linden St. after receiving a report of a Breaking and Entering and Larceny. Officers discovered a side door to the rectory left ajar and a window with a slashed screen. A review of the office revealed a laptop, an IPod, a flat screen television, and the rectory’s vehicle had been stolen.

While on the desk, an officer received a report of a stolen motor vehicle. The victim stated his car was parked on Centre St. beginning at 2:00 p.m. and upon his return at 6:30 p.m. the car was gone. The victim stated the key to his car had been stolen a couple of weeks prior to the incident, though he did not report it at the time. A search of the area did not reveal the vehicle.

An officer was dispatched to the US Amateur Golf Tournament after receiving a report of an illegally parked vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer learned that the suspect had claimed to only be parking for five minutes in order to drop something off. At this point, thirty minutes had elapsed and the man had not returned to his car. The owner of the vehicle was located and placed under arrest for Trespassing.

An officer was flagged down at the intersection of Harvard St. and Alton Place. The victim stated she had just been assaulted by two females who had tried to steal her cell phone. The victim was able to provide a description of one suspect, saying she was an African American woman with a skinny frame and was wearing a pink hooded sweatshirt. The victim believed both suspects were in their teens. The victim stated she had been walking home from work when the suspects pulled her to the ground by her hair and repeatedly hit her and attempted to grab her cell phone before fleeing down Aspinwall Av. A search of the area yielded negative results for the suspects.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a red light. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. The officer was able to detect the odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle. The operator’s eyes also appeared to be glassy. The officer administered a series of field sobriety tests, after which the officer determined the operator of the vehicle was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating Under the Influence.

An officer received a report of a past case of internet fraud. The victim stated he had posted an item for sale on Craigslist and had exchanged several emails with a potential buyer. Once they had agreed on the price, the suspect mailed the victim a check, which when deposited was revealed to be counterfeit and worthless. The victim has not been able to contact the suspect.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at a red light. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Beacon St. A query of the driver’s information revealed his license was suspended. The operator was placed under arrest for Operating After Suspension.

An officer received a report of a past case of internet fraud. The victim stated he had posted an item for sale on Craigslist and had exchanged several emails with a potential buyer. Once they had agreed on the price, the suspect mailed the victim a check, which when deposited was revealed to be counterfeit and worthless. The victim has not been able to contact the suspect.

An officer was approached by the manager of a store who informed him that he was following a woman who had taken items from the store without paying for them. The manager identified the suspect to the officer, who stopped her on Green St. Further investigation revealed the stolen item on the suspect’s person. The suspect was placed under arrest.

The suspect has yet to be apprehended, but has been summoned to the Brookline District Court.

An officer was on patrol when he was alerted to a past breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The rear window of the vehicle has been smashed and a backpack was missing from the vehicle. Nothing else appeared to be missing.

An officer was dispatched to St. Paul St. to check on the well being of a person sleeping outside. A query revealed the suspect had a warrant out of Boston Municipal Court. The suspect was placed under arrest.

An officer was dispatched to a business on Commonwealth Ave. after receiving a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the manager who stated that $275.00 had been stolen from his office this morning. The manager described the suspect as an African American male wearing a white shirt and blue sweater. A review of the video surveillance revealed the suspect exiting the business through the rear after leaving the manager’s office. The suspect has yet to be apprehended.

The victim stated she had received email confirmation earlier in the day that a package she was expecting had been delivered, however upon getting home the package was gone. The victim believes the package was stolen as it was left in an unsecure lobby.

On August 7, 2013 an officer received a report of a past larceny. The victim stated he left his backpack in a secure area at his place of employment, which only employees have access to. At some point during the victim’s shift, a debit card was removed from the backpack. There are no identified suspects at this time.

A random query of a vehicle revealed the registered owner had a warrant out of Attleboro District Court. An officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Longwood Ave. and Sewall Ave. The operator of the vehicle was confirmed to be the owner and was placed under arrest.

An officer was dispatched to Beacon St. after receiving a report of a bicycle theft. The victim stated he left his bike unlocked, leaning against a parking meter for a brief period of time. Upon his return, the bicycle was missing.

An officer received a report from a victim about the theft of a bicycle. The victim stated the bike had been locked to a pole in front of his residence on Summit Ave.

An officer was dispatched to a residence on Winthrop Rd. after receiving a report for a Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer observed the vehicle to have a broken window. The victim stated she had discovered the broken window, but did not see anything missing from the vehicle. Neighbors did not see or hear anything suspicious.

Not Duly Licensed: 08/08/2013 at 1:51 a.m. – W. Roxbury Pk.
A random query of a vehicle revealed the owner did not have a valid driver’s license and the insurance on the vehicle was revoked. An officer initiated a traffic stop on West Roxbury Parkway. The operator of the vehicle was confirmed to be the owner. She was cited for Operating Without a License, Revoked Insurance, and having an Unregistered Motor Vehicle.

Traffic Update for US Amateur Golf Tournament
From August 9- 18, the Country Club is set to host the US Amateur Golf Tournament. Due to this event, traffic on Clyde St. will be closed except for the following: residents, buses, and USGA official vehicles. Travel restrictions on Clyde St. will begin at 5:30 a.m. In addition, there will be lane restrictions on Lee and Newton St. beginning at 5:30 a.m. due to permitted parking. Vehicles without permits that are not registered to town residents shall be ticketed and towed on the following streets: Whitney St, Meadowbrook Rd, Country Rd, Forest St, Dale St, Goddard Circle, Sears Rd. Hallwood Rd. Fernwood Rd, Yarmouth Rd, Bellingham Rd, and Dudley St.

An officer received a report on August 6, 2013 about a stolen bicycle. The victim reported she left the bike locked to a pole on Lawton St. When she returned for it later that night, the bicycle had been stolen.
Drug Violation: 08/06/2013 at 6:15 p.m. – Commonwealth Ave.
Officers were dispatched to a pharmacy on Commonwealth Ave. after receiving a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival, officers met the regional loss prevention manager who stated the larceny originated in January 2013 and had continued on until the present time. The manager stated he began receiving complaints from customers about missing pills in January and, in response, had installed surveillance cameras. The manager was able to observe an employee taking pills from filled prescription bottles before giving them to the customers. Upon seeing this, the manager attempted to schedule an appointment with the employee. However, the employee continued to avoid the appointment by changing shifts and calling in sick to work. On August 6, 2013 the manager was finally able to meet with the employee and report the crime to Brookline officers. The suspect was placed under arrest for Larceny of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Class E Substance.

An officer observed three males riding bicycles and dragging a fourth bicycle behind them. The officer stopped the suspects on Commonwealth Ave. A pat frisk and a search of the suspects’ backpacks revealed several electronic items such as a GPS and a professional microphone. A pair of black knit winter gloves and a spandex sleeve were also found. Further investigation revealed one of the suspects was carrying five credit cards which did not belong to him. The suspect was placed under arrest for Possession of Stolen, Lost, or Mislaid Credit Card.

Building Fire: 08/06/2013 at 4:37 a.m. – Beacon St.
An officer was dispatched to Beacon St. after receiving a report of a fire on the 4th floor of a residential building. The officer entered the building and detected the odor of smoke in the stairway. The officer proceeded to evacuate the building. Fire units arrived and extinguished a smoldering wood deck on the 4th floor. The fire was ignited by a discarded cigarette. No one was injured.

Several officers were dispatched to a residence on Welland Rd. after receiving a report about a possible Breaking and Entering in progress. The caller stated he heard a loud crash from the downstairs and it sounded as if someone was in the house. Once officers arrived on the scene, the victim was standing outside and stated he observed a Hispanic male wearing a white t-shirt and green shorts run from the house toward Stanton Rd. A male fitting the description provided by the victim was spotted by officers running down Gorham Ave. The suspect was stopped and identified by the victim as the man who he had seen running from his house. The suspect was placed under arrest for Breaking and Entering and Burglary.

An officer received a report on August 5, 2013 about a past theft on Harvard St. The victim stated she had left her purse in her unlocked office at her place of employment. After leaving her office for a brief period of time, she returned to find her purse had been taken. A review of the security surveillance cameras showed a man leaving the building, carrying a large box. The victim did not recognize the man and believed he should not have been in the building. The matter is under investigation.

An officer was dispatched to a residence on Terrace Rd. in order to serve an arrest warrant out of Dorchester District Court. Upon arrival, the officer was informed that the suspect no longer resided there. The current resident was asked to inform the suspect to contact the Brookline Police Department. Officers returned to the Brookline Police Department where the suspect arrived shortly after, around 10:30 p.m. The suspect was arrested without incident.

An officer received a report on August 5, 2013 from a victim who stated that between Friday evening and Saturday morning someone unearthed and stole twelve rhododendron plants from Yarmouth Rd. Neighbors did not report hearing or seeing anything suspicious. It is likely several individuals were involved due to the weight and number of plants stolen.

Officers returned to the Brookline Police Department where the suspect arrived shortly after, around 10:30 p.m. The suspect was arrested without incident.

Larceny: 08/02/2013 at 5:00 p.m. – 08/03/2013 at 6:15 a.m. – Yarmouth Rd.
An officer received a report on August 5, 2013 from a victim who stated that between Friday evening and Saturday morning someone unearthed and stole twelve rhododendron plants from Yarmouth Rd. Neighbors did not report hearing or seeing anything suspicious. It is likely several individuals were involved due to the weight and number of plants stolen.

Update on Home Break-Ins
Last week Brookline experienced a rash of home break-ins. A fingerprint was found at one of the scenes on Aspinwall Ave., which led to the identification of Jose A. Quinones, age 21 [08/02/1992]. Quinones is a Boston resident at 3037 Washington Street. A warrant was issued by Brookline District Court. This past weekend Boston Police apprehended Quinones in Boston. Quinones is being linked to three instances of Breaking and Entering in Brookline.
Today a second suspect, Thomas Mello age 47 [10/14/1965], was arrested by Brookline officers. Mello has no known address. Officers were dispatched to a residence on Welland Rd. at 11 a.m. this morning after receiving a report of suspicious activity. Officers were able to interrupt Mello in the process of Breaking and Entering. Mello has been arrested and is being investigated in regards to his possible involvement in other home break-ins.

The victim then tried to reach the owner via email and telephone but was unable to do so. The matter is currently under investigation.

The caller said he needed her passport number as well as a $1,000 payment for an investigation and a $400 fine. At this point, the victim hung up and called Immigration Services, who informed her that they had not called her seeking payment for an investigation or a fine. The victim then contacted the police to report the scam.

One of the suspects was observed soon after by another officer and was told to stop. The suspect failed to stop and attempted to evade the officer. The officer pursued the suspect, observing him travel the wrong direction down Beacon St. before traveling through a red light and taking an illegal left turn onto Washington St. Another officer in an unmarked cruiser observed the suspect on Washington St. and alerted dispatch. The suspect’s movement continued to be tracked, leading officers to converge on Thayer St., Waverly St., Emerson St. and Davis Ave. The scooter continued down Davis Ave. at a high rate of speed until making contact with another vehicle, throwing the suspect from the scooter. The suspect attempted to evade officers on foot, but was apprehended and placed under arrest.

Charges made against suspect for Arson on Spooner Road
On Friday evening, the 26th day of July 2013, the Town of Brookline had a suspicious fire that totally engulfed the residence at 71 Spooner Rd. burning it to the ground. The house was vacant and unoccupied at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
The State Fire Marshall conducted an investigation into the cause of the fire and determined that the fire was incendiary in nature. A criminal investigation was begun by the Brookline Police Department resulting in a suspect, believed to be involved in the cause of the fire, being identified.
This morning, the first day of August 2013, an arrest warrant was issued by the Brookline Municipal Court for a Steven J. McCann of 241 Perkins St. Jamaica Plain, Ma. a white male with a date of birth of 06/28/1984. He was arraigned at his hospital bed at the Brigham and Woman’s Hospital early this afternoon. He is believed to have sustained injuries, while setting fire to the dwelling on Spooner Rd. He is charged with the following crimes: 1) Arson of Dwelling House, 2) Arson of Dwelling House (unoccupied), and 3) Burning of a Building to Defraud Insurer.

Larceny: 07/30/2013 at 3:50-5:00 p.m. – Freeman St.
An officer was dispatched to Freeman St. after receiving a report of a past Larceny. The victim stated her son had received a call from an unknown male saying he had her cell phone and would leave it for her at the front desk of Dexter Park. When the victim attempted to claim her cell phone she was informed that it had already been picked up. An examination of the surveillance footage showed a female concierge accepting the phone, but no one else coming to claim the phone, which is thought to still be in the possession of the concierge. The matter is currently under investigation.

An officer observed a vehicle which had a B.O.L.O (Be On the Look Out) out of Boston on it for a hit and run accident which had occurred earlier in the day. A traffic stop was initiated on the corner of Beacon and St. Mary St. A query revealed the driver had a straight warrant out of Boston District 1 Court and was placed under arrest.

Assault: 07/30/2013 at 10:41 p.m. – Risley Rd.
An officer was dispatched to a residence on Risley Rd. in order to interview a victim about a past Assault with a Firearm. The victim stated he and a friend were driving toward the Allston area when a car pulled along side of them whose driver was wielding a gun, which they saw him load. The suspect was known to both victims and pointed the gun at their vehicle. Both vehicles continued along, eventually becoming separated. The victim and his friend proceeded to visit several bars in Allston, but later saw the suspect’s car once again parked on Pratt St. They did not observe anyone in the car and proceeded to approach it and look for the firearm. Then another vehicle pulled up whose driver shouted at them to get away from the car. The victims began to run away and several shots were fired at them as they ran. One victim was hit in the leg and transported to the hospital. The matter is currently under investigation.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Armory St. A query revealed the driver was not properly licensed. The suspect was placed under arrest for being Not Duly Licensed and Failure to Stop.

Fraud: 7/30/2013 at 11:27 a.m. – Kent St.
An officer was dispatched to a residence on Kent St. after receiving a report of a scam. The victim reported a man had contacted her via phone claiming to be the Attorney General of the Consumer Protection Bureau and that she was the winner of $4.5 million dollars from the American Protection Sweepstakes. The victim was informed that in order to collect her winnings, she must first wire money to banks in Nicaragua and Costa Rica in order to cover the taxes of the winnings. The victim proceeded to do so, but soon after had suspicions about the company. After making contact with the suspect, the victim was informed that she could get her money back if she wired more money to the company to expedite the process. At this point, the victim made contact with the police. The matter is currently under investigation.

An officer was dispatched to a residence on Brington Rd. after receiving a report of a past Breaking and Entering. The victim stated she had discovered the front door open and a pane of glass on the front door broken upon arriving home. After inspecting the home she discovered jewelry and silverware were missing. Neighbors did not report hearing or seeing anything unusual that day. The matter is currently under investigation.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Alberta and Shaw Rd. The officer observed that the driver seemed confused and her eyes were glassy. A bottle of alcohol was clearly visible in the purse of the passenger. A query revealed the driver was operating under a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating After Suspended License and Operating Under the Influence of Liquor.

An officer was dispatched to a residence on South St. after receiving a report of a Breaking and Entering. The victims stated they returned home to find it ransacked. A rear window had been forced open in order to gain entry into the home. Several items were taken. Neighbors did not report hearing or seeing anything suspicious. A suspect has not been apprehended thus far.

Larceny: 7/29/2013 at 10:33 a.m. - Harvard St.
An officer observed a man whom he knew from a prior shoplifting experience. The officer continued to observe the man as he quickly entered and left several stores. After the suspect left a clothing store, the officer entered and asked to see the store’s surveillance videos. The videos showed the suspect placing several shirts into a brown bag. An employee of the store said no one fitting the suspect’s description had bought any shirts. The officer stopped the suspect on Harvard Street and was able to observe several shirts sticking out of the top of the brown bag. The shirts were returned to the clothing store and the suspect was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

An officer was dispatched to Beacon St. after receiving a report of a theft of a bicycle. The bike had been secured with a thick cord lock to a light pole. Both the bike and lock were taken. No suspect has thus far been apprehended.

A man reported his cell phone had been stolen after spending the night at a friend’s home. According to the homeowner, another overnight guest left with two cell phones the following morning. The victim attempted to get his phone back from the suspect, who asked for payment for the return of the phone. Officers spoke with the suspect via cell phone, but found him uncooperative. The victim was advised to cancel his cell phone service. The matter is currently under investigation.

An officer was dispatched to Beacon St. after receiving a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival, the victim told the officer that she was the victim of a Craig’s List scam. She found the suspects ad on Craig’s List for a summer home rental in Rhode Island. After speaking with the suspect on the phone, she wired money into his account to secure her rental. Upon arriving at the home in Rhode Island she discovered the properties true owners were home and had no knowledge of any such rental agreement. She was unable to reach the suspect, who has thus far not been apprehended.

Fraud: 7/29/2013 at 2:07 p.m. – Chestnut St.
A victim reported she was on a website called Tagged.com when she was asked by the suspect to purchase a MoneyPak card, which he would then add funds to. After purchasing the card and relaying the card number to the suspect, she was unable to reach the suspect, who has yet to be apprehended.

Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle: 7/29/2013 at 8:40 a.m. – Buckminster Rd.
An officer was dispatched to a residence on Buckminster Rd after receiving a report of a past Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. The victim stated he had left his car in the driveway of his home overnight. The vehicle was left unlocked, but otherwise secure. When the victim went to use the car in the morning he saw the glove box was open and several items from the car were missing. A suspect has not been apprehended thus far.

An officer was dispatched to a residence on Clark Rd. after receiving a report of a past Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. The victim stated she had left the vehicle unlocked. Several items were missing from the vehicle including a cell phone. No suspect has been apprehended.

Possession: 7/29/2013 at 4:30 p.m. – Goddard Av.
An officer observed two suspects acting suspiciously while sitting in their car on Goddard Av. They appeared anxious and were continuously looking over their shoulders as if they did not wish to be seen. After being parked for several minutes the car continued down Goddard Av, the passenger having exited the car. Officers initiated a traffic stop. The driver appeared confused, dazed, and could not sit still. Officers also observed that his eyes were bloodshot. A search of the vehicle revealed a small pill on the floor of the car which was confirmed to be Oxycontin. The suspect did not have a prescription for the medication and was placed under arrest for Possession of an opiate.

An officer was dispatched to Beacon St. after receiving a report of a theft of a bicycle. The bike had been secured with a thick cord lock to a light pole. Both the bike and lock were taken. No suspect has thus far been apprehended.
Sector 2
Larceny: 7/28/2013 at 12:30- 10:00 a.m. - Aspinwall Av.
A man reported his cell phone had been stolen after spending the night at a friend’s home. According to the homeowner, another overnight guest left with two cell phones the following morning. The victim attempted to get his phone back from the suspect, who asked for payment for the return of the phone. Officers spoke with the suspect via cell phone, but found him uncooperative. The victim was advised to cancel his cell phone service. The matter is currently under investigation.
Larceny: 7/29/2013 at 4:22 p.m. – Beacon St.
An officer was dispatched to Beacon St. after receiving a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival, the victim told the officer that she was the victim of a Craig’s List scam. She found the suspects ad on Craig’s List for a summer home rental in Rhode Island. After speaking with the suspect on the phone, she wired money into his account to secure her rental. Upon arriving at the home in Rhode Island she discovered the properties true owners were home and had no knowledge of any such rental agreement. She was unable to reach the suspect, who has thus far not been apprehended.

Fraud: 7/29/2013 at 2:07 p.m. – Chestnut St.
A victim reported she was on a website called Tagged.com when she was asked by the suspect to purchase a MoneyPak card, which he would then add funds to. After purchasing the card and relaying the card number to the suspect, she was unable to reach the suspect, who has yet to be apprehended.

Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle: 7/29/2013 at 8:40 a.m. – Buckminster Rd.
An officer was dispatched to a residence on Buckminster Rd after receiving a report of a past Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. The victim stated he had left his car in the driveway of his home overnight. The vehicle was left unlocked, but otherwise secure. When the victim went to use the car in the morning he saw the glove box was open and several items from the car were missing. A suspect has not been apprehended thus far.
Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle: 7/29/2013 at 12:00 p.m. – Clark Rd.
An officer was dispatched to a residence on Clark Rd. after receiving a report of a past Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. The victim stated she had left the vehicle unlocked. Several items were missing from the vehicle including a cell phone. No suspect has been apprehended.
Sector 7
Possession: 7/29/2013 at 4:30 p.m. – Goddard Av.
An officer observed two suspects acting suspiciously while sitting in their car on Goddard Av. They appeared anxious and were continuously looking over their shoulders as if they did not wish to be seen. After being parked for several minutes the car continued down Goddard Av, the passenger having exited the car. Officers initiated a traffic stop. The driver appeared confused, dazed, and could not sit still. Officers also observed that his eyes were bloodshot. A search of the vehicle revealed a small pill on the floor of the car which was confirmed to be Oxycontin. The suspect did not have a prescription for the medication and was placed under arrest for Possession of an opiate.

O.U.I.L.: 7/27/2013 at 7:07 am- Beacon St./ Centre St.
An officer observed a vehicle make an unlawful left turn. A traffic stop was initiated on Beacon St. While pulling over the vehicle, the driver drove onto the curb hitting a light post. The driver appeared confused and was slurring her speech. A query revealed her Right to Operate had been suspended. Further investigation revealed a plastic cup containing an alcoholic beverage in the console of the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, Operating Recklessly, Operating After Suspension, and Violation of D.P.W. Rules and Regulations.

An officer observed a vehicle run a red light. A traffic stop was initiated on Harvard St. A query revealed the driver’s license was suspended. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating After Suspension.

Burglary: 7/27/2013 at 9:30 – 10:30 am- Aspinwall Av.
An officer was dispatched to a home on Aspinwall Av. after receiving a report of a possible burglary. The victim stated a young man, whom she described as ‘scruffy’ with tan skin and a small build, came to her home asking if a man named Christian lived there. After being told there was no one there by that name, the man left. The victim thought little of the exchange until she left her home shortly after and upon returning, discovered the screen on her kitchen window was pushed up. Investigation of the home revealed the victim’s cell phone was missing, but no other valuables appeared to be removed. No suspect has been apprehended.

Assault: 7/27/2013 at 5:30 pm- Robinson Playground/ Cypress Street
Officers were dispatched to Robinson Playground on Cypress Street after receiving a report of three males fighting. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a witness who said one of the suspects was attempting to hit another with a brick. The suspect was questioned, but highly intoxicated and denied the fight had occurred. The suspect was placed under arrest for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and the other two men were sent on their way.
Robbery: 7/27/2013 at 8:11 pm- High St.
An officer was dispatched to High St. after receiving a report of a bicycle theft. The victim reported two young men whom he knew had approached him an hour earlier and forcibly taken his bicycle. Both suspects were located and the bike was recovered. The suspects were placed under arrest for Unarmed Robbery.

Burglary: 7/26/2013 at 8:15 am- 4:00 pm- Dean Rd.
An officer was dispatched to Dean Rd. after receiving a report of a Breaking and Entering. An investigation revealed the perpetrator gained entry through a bedroom window, which had been smashed. Further investigation revealed several bedrooms in the home were ransacked and some money and jewelry were reported missing. A suspect has thus far not been apprehended.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at an accelerated speed. A traffic stop was initiated on Boylston St. A query revealed the license of the driver had been suspended. He was placed under arrest for Operating After Suspension.
