6/2 to 6/4

6/2/17 – An officer responded to Hawes St for a Larceny report. The reporting party stated that a package was delivered to his residence on 5/31/17 at 1300hrs. Upon retrieving the package he noticed that the package had been opened and all items inside were taken.

6/2/17 – An officer responded to Clinton Rd. at Cotswold Rd. for a two car motor vehicle crash.  A vehicle was traveling on Clinton Rd when a second vehicle was making a left turn from Cotswold Rd crashed into vehicle it. Neither operator was injured in the crash. The operator of the second vehicle was cited for a stop sign violation.

6/2/17 – An officer responded to Hawes St on a Larceny report. The reporting party stated that two packages were supposed to be delivered on 5/31/17 at 1300hrs. An alert from the delivery service stated the packages were delivered however; the reporting party didn’t receive them. This is the second report of package larceny on this street.

6/2/17 – An officer at the front desk on a Larceny report. The reporting party stated that on 5/30/17 three sprinkler timers and four extension hoses were stolen from the condo building she works for.

6/2/17 – An officer at the front desk was approached for a report of a past motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. The reporting party stated on 6/1/17 between 1455 and 1500 hours he was attempting to cross the street at Vernon St. and Marion St. when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver stopped to see if he was alright and once confirmed, they both went on their way. Injuries from the accident resulted in the victim reporting the accident. The driver is described as a white female, approximately 60-65 years old, with a slender build and glasses and was last seen on Marion St.

6/2/17 – An officer responded to a store on Harvard Street for a past shoplifting. The reporting party stated that a woman came into the store at approximately 1650 hours and began looking through the clothing rack. The employee thought the customer was acting suspicious and checked the store security surveillance cameras and discovered she put several items into a shopping bag that she was carrying. The security video surveillance depicts the suspect as a black female in her 40's, heavy build, and approximately 5'07" to 5'10" tall, with shoulder length black curly hair. She was wearing a black and white tank top with a long black sweater and black pants.

6/3/2017 – An officer found a navy blue wallet in the Babcock St. Lot. The wallet contained credit cards, gift cards, a Charlie card, and some cash. Attempts to get contact information for the owner were made but were unsuccessful.

6/3/17 – An officer responded to Summit Avenue for a report of a package theft. The reporting party stated that he received E-mail confirmation that his package was delivered to his apartment building at 1546 hours. He arrived home at 1630 hours to find the package was ripped opened and the contents were missing.

6/4/17 – An officer responded to Westbourne Terrace for an unattended backpack at a school playground. The officer observed a grey backpack containing a red binder and several loose papers.


6/4/17 - An officer at the front desk was approached by a subject who came to return a cell phone they found outside the Beacon Athletic Club on Washington St. Attempts to find the owner were made but were unsuccessful.

5/31-6/1/2017

5/31/2017

8:04 pm: An officer was dispatched to Beacon Street at Williston Road for a two car motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival both drivers stated they were not injured. The driver of the first vehicle provided his license and registration. He stated that he had stopped for a red traffic signal on Beacon Street when a motor vehicle behind him collided with his motor vehicle. Minor damage and scratches to the vehicle’s rear bumper were observed. The second driver stated he did not have his license or registration with him, but provided the officer with a picture of his license on his phone. He explained he was travelling behind the first vehicle and as the car came to a stop he applied his brakes, but his brakes gave out and he collided with the motor vehicle in front of him. The officer observed minor damage to the front bumper of this driver’s car. The driver of the second vehicle was found to have a suspended license and a revoked registration status.  He was issued a citation for Operating After License Suspension, Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Following Too Closely. The driver was informed his vehicle would be towed due to having revoked insurance and he would be summonsed to court for the traffic offenses. The driver of the first motor vehicle was provided an accident data form with the other driver’s information.

6/1/2017        

7:38 am: Officers responded to Brookline Place for a larceny report. A construction employee explained that new concrete floors were being attached to a garage. Welding equipment had been left at the construction site the previous evening. When the employee returned this morning, he noticed copper wire welding leads were missing from the site. It was stated that only an individual working at the site would be aware the welding leads contain copper. Two buildings next to the construction site were found to have cameras. Follow-up by the detective division was requested.

7:58 am: An officer on patrol observed a vehicle travelling on Harvard Street near Green Street. The registration of the vehicle was found to have a status of Revoked for Insurance. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Harvard Street. The driver informed the officer that the car was not his. It was verified that the car was insured, but while the insurance had been renewed, the registration had not. The owner of the vehicle was issued a citation for Unregistered MV. The vehicle was towed and the owner will be summonsed to court.

12:56 pm: While on patrol, an officer observed a vehicle on Harvard Street with an “R” inspection sticker indicating rejection status. A query of the registration indicated the inspection status was within the thirty-day allotment, but acknowledged a default warrant for the registered owner of the vehicle. The officer followed the vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted on Babcock Street. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner of the vehicle and was arrested and taken to booking charged with the warrant. The vehicle was towed.

5:42 pm: An officer was dispatched to Dana Street for a property damage report. The home owner explained when he returned home from work he saw that his fence post was knocked over adjacent to his driveway. Another resident had informed the owner that he had not seen any damage earlier in the evening. A car may have pulled into the driveway to turn around and struck the fence. A small piece of red paint or plastic was found to be transferred form the object to the fence. Surveillance cameras were not found in the area.

8:00 pm: Officers responded to a call for a report of malicious damage to a bicycle at the intersection of Beacon Street and Powell Street. The owner of the bicycle explained that she had locked her bicycle to the street sign in front of the building’s entrance on Powell Street the previous afternoon. When she returned to it that evening she found it badly damaged and laying on the ground still locked to the sign. The location has both vehicle and pedestrian traffic throughout the day. The lock did not appear to have marks that would indicate an attempt to cut it and the seat and accessories were still on the bike. Based on this, the bike may have been knocked over or fallen on its own. A surveillance camera was located mounted to the entrance of the building on Beacon Street. It appeared to have a view of the bicycle, but management could not be contacted to view the footage at the time. Follow-up was requested and the owner was advised of the Town By-Law regarding locking bicycles to town signs.

5/31/17

5/31/17 – An officer responded to Park Vale for a report of graffiti. The reporting party stated that between 5/29/17 at 1500hrs and 5/30/17 at 1730hrs she noticed new graffiti inside the carport of the building. There are several words in white writing that appear unreadable as well as an inappropriate picture.

5/31/17 - An officer at the front desk was approached by a subject reporting a Breaking & Entering and Larceny of a motor vehicle. The reporting party stated the coins in her car were taken between 1700hrs on 5/30/17 and 0900hrs on 5/31/17. She stated she saw a White Male between the ages 16 -20 on her street at that time when she realized the coins were gone.

5/31/2017 - An officer responded to Park Street for a report of a past larceny. The reporting party stated the victim had been admitted to the hospital with a large quantity of cash in his pants pocket. At 1630hrs the victim reported that his money was now missing. His wallet containing the money was left in the dresser top drawer next to his bed. The wallet remained however the money was now missing.  The victim stated he last saw the envelope on the evening of 5/27/2017.

5/31/17 - An officer responded to Carlton St for a package theft. The victim stated that the package was delivered on 5/31/17 at approximately 1557 hours. At approximately 1750 hours, when he arrived home, the victim found the tampered packaged in the vestibule of the building.. The package contained a pair of gray Converse sneakers.

5/31/17 – An officer responded to Carlton St for a report of theft of contents from a package. The officer entered the vestibule and observed a package that appeared to have contents taken from it. The officer then went to alert the package owner of the theft of the contents. The items, two packets of Skinny Mate Tea, were taken between 1420hrs and 1610hrs.


5/31/17 – An officer at the front desk was approached by a subject looking to turn in a found wallet. The wallet was found in the Coolidge Corner area and is described as a man's brown wallet, containing a German license, Charlie cards, two credit cards and some cash. Officers were unable to contact the owner.

5/30/2017

5/30/2017

7:26 am: Officers were dispatched to a business on Harvard Street to take a report for a B&E that had taken place overnight. The store’s manager explained that when he arrived at work this morning and began his morning duties, he found the roll up gate to the stockroom open. Upon checking security footage of the night before, the manager observed a man open the gate, look around, and enter the stock room.  He is then shown exiting the store with merchandise. The security footage was provided to the police.

On 5/26/2017, officers received a call that a wild turkey had been lurking around Pierce School on School Street. It was discovered that there was a nest with seven turkey eggs near the playground area. There was concern that the turkey may become protective of her nest and attack children at recess. Animal control responded to the location and observed the nest. The Division of Fisheries and Wildlife was contacted and they stated that they would need to consult with their superiors to provide authorization to remove the nest. On 5/30/2017 at approximately 10:58 am, Animal Control received authorization to remove the nest. The seven eggs were removed and transported to a wildlife rehab specialist.


11:00 am: Officers responded to a report of a past Assault & Battery.  A landscaper working on Thorndike Street explained that a contractor hired to work at the same location requested the landscaper’s materials be moved from the front of the property. According to the reporting party, the contractor began shoving the other individual while yelling at him. He also noted that another worker grabbed the reporting party from behind and pulled him away from the aggressor. He stated he was not injured during the incident. An officer spoke to the other party at the original property. He stated that the reporting party became angry with his request, swearing and spitting in his direction. He stated that after this occurred he left the area and he did not want to pursue charges or the matter with the reporting party. He also informed officers that the property owner had arrived during the incident and helped mediate the situation. When contacted, the property owner said he arrived at the scene and intervened in the argument, which he said was not physical. The reporting party informed the property owner that he attempted to spit on the other contractor after he pushed him several times. He then agreed to leave the property and return later to complete his landscaping. Both parties were advised that they would be summonsed to court.

5/26/2017

5:35 pm: Officers responded to a multiple vehicle accident on Boylston Street. The vehicles were travelling eastbound and as traffic began to slow one vehicle crashed into the rear of the vehicle in front of them. As a result, this second vehicle crashed into the rear of the next vehicle. The first operator was issued a citation for following too close and the second and third vehicles were towed. Fortunately, no one was injured.

5/27/2017

6:32 pm: Officers were dispatched to a restaurant on Harvard Street for a report of larceny. Two customers were found to have left without paying their bill. Realizing this, an employee attempted to locate the individuals but contacted the police when she was unsuccessful. The restaurants cameras were not able to be accessed at the time, but the owner was contacted. They will review the footage and will turn it over to the police if there is anything of value.

10:22 pm: Two cell phones were reported stolen from a Green Street building. One victim was able to track his phone to a general area, but responding officers were unable to pin point an exact location. The phone had been left in a bag in the buildings coat room the previous evening and could not be found the next day. Security in the building explained that another cell phone was taken from the coat room as well. Both the front doors to the building and the coat room had been unlocked all day (5/27). At approximately 11:55 pm, the department received a call that one of the victims was contacted by an individual saying he wanted to return the cell phone.  A detective and an officer were present during the exchange. The individual returning the phone stated that he had found the phone on the ground near Harvard Street, did not know about the other missing device, and had not been at the Green Street building at the time of the theft. No charges were filed.

5/28/2017

9:55 pm: Officers responded to a report of larceny from a business on Commonwealth Avenue. Upon viewing camera footage, it was found that five males entered the business took various items from the front counter area and walked out of the store. When the individuals found that none of the employees noticed they took items they went back in and began rummaging through the shelves. They then appeared to be noticed and ran out of the store. One of the males was confronted by an employee and the employee was able to take a few items from the individual who was still running toward the door. The store delayed calling the police and when police arrived the initial employee was no longer on scene. The stolen items and the surveillance footage were placed into evidence. 

5/29/2017

12:15 am: An individual reported to police that his online bank account was tampered with. He stated that his bank’s fraud department had contacted him to inform him of the tampering. No money was transferred or taken from his accounts, but they have been put on hold. The reporting party has a suspicion of who might have attempted to access his account. He was advised to monitor his accounts closely until he can follow up with his bank.


5:42 pm: An individual reported that two of her rings had been stolen. She stated that she left her rings, watch, and glasses in a tray in a changing room during a class on Harvard Street. Approximately two hours later, she returned to the changing room to find her rings missing, but her other belongings still there. There is no security video surveillance on the premises. Staff and clients have been notified of the incident.

5/25/2017

4:10 pm: Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Coolidge Street and Gibbs Street for a report of a motor vehicle crash. One vehicle was travelling north on Gibbs Street toward Coolidge Street while the other was travelling east on Coolidge Street. The first operator observed that the other vehicle was not going to come to a complete stop at a stop sign; however, the operator explained he noticed this too late and the second motor vehicle crashed into the rear of his vehicle. The second operator stated she came to a complete stop, but did not see the first operator travelling on Gibbs Street. One vehicle suffered minor rear damage while the second suffered minor front end damage. Both operators stated they were not injured and the second operator was cited for failure to stop.

5:18 pm: An officer was dispatched to a business on Harvard Street where a manager stated that the previous Sunday (5/21) a customer attempted to make a purchase with a counterfeit ten dollar bill. The cashier at the time found the bill to be counterfeit and explained this to the customer who claimed she received the cash from another store and was unaware it was a counterfeit bill. Surveillance footage of the transaction was taken into evidence.

8:32 pm: A Boylston Street employee reported a stolen motor vehicle.  A white van was rented from the business on 5/11 and was meant to be returned on 5/20. The customer had listed a final destination that does not exist in Brookline and when the business attempted to contact the customer they were unsuccessful.

3:58 pm: Officers responded to another report of credit card fraud. The reporting party had noticed multiple charges she did not make on her credit card. She notified the bank and put her account on hold. The rest of her personal information was not compromised.

6:55 pm: While on patrol in the area, an officer observed a vehicle travelling on Freeman Street go through a red light at the intersection of Pleasant Street. The officer conducted a traffic stop and the operator, an Uber driver, explained he had been distracted by a new pick up request he received on his phone. The driver was found to have an expired license. He was informed he could not drive without a valid license and was issued a citation for failure to stop at a red light and another for driving with an expired license.

5:50 am: Officers were dispatched to a two car motor vehicle crash with possible injuries at the intersection of Boylston and Lee St.

5:30 am: Officers responded to Rawson Road for the B&E of a parked vehicle. The owner stated he left the vehicle unlocked the previous afternoon and when he returned to it the next morning the center console was open and change was missing.

8:00 am: An Officer responded to University Road for a B&E of a motor vehicle. The reporting party stated her vehicle was parked in the driveway the previous night and when she returned to it the following morning she saw it had been rifled through and a bag of change was missing. The reporting party stated she left the car unlocked.

While taking a report for a B&E of a motor vehicle, an officer was approached by a University Road resident who explained that she believed her motor vehicle had also been broken into. The vehicle was parked in the resident’s driveway the previous night and when the owner returned to it the next morning, she found it had been rifled through. At the time she was not sure if anything was missing. The resident stated the vehicle was left unlocked.

9:10 am: Officers were dispatched to Beacon St. and Washington St. for a traffic crash. One vehicle had damage to the right front and rear passenger doors while the second vehicle had significant damage to its front hood and bumper. Information was exchanged between the two parties and they were advised to contact their insurance companies and complete a Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Crash Operator Report. One vehicle was towed. Neither party was injured.

12:20 pm: Officers responded to a call for malicious damage on Puddingstone Road. The reporting party explained he had parked his vehicle in his driveway and when he returned a half hour later his right, rear passenger side window was shattered. The device used to break the window could not be located. The car had been left unlocked and no property was missing.

1:13 pm: Officers were dispatched to Beacon St for a report of suspicious activity. The reporting party explained that she had been followed Saturday (5/20) while walking home from work. The individual found that when she increased her pace, the subject following her did as well. After making it to her residence, she observed the subject take a picture of her building and walk away. The subject was described as middle aged with short hair, a scruffy beard, and lean wearing grey sweats. The responding officers were not able to locate any security cameras, but the reporting party stated she would reach out to management to determine if there was any security footage in the area.

A resident reported that her car had been broken into overnight. She explained the vehicle had been parked at the rear of her home the previous evening and when she returned to it the following morning she realized she had left it unlocked, it had been entered, and approximately $2.00 in change had been taken.

6:00 pm: At the intersection of Park St and Washington St, an officer recognized a passenger in a vehicle travelling toward Beacon Street. The officer was familiar with the passenger from previous criminal investigations and it was found the individual had a straight warrant issued for larceny from a building. Dispatch was notified and the vehicle was located at Jette Court. The passenger exited the vehicle as the officer entered the lot. When the individual was addressed and saw the police officer he turned and ran. Dispatch was notified and additional units, including the Boston Police, were requested. The subject was found by officers hiding behind a bush. The subject was placed under arrest.

5-23-2017 larceny / Break and Enter / MV Crash

5-22-2017

Monday May 22, 2017 Officers responded to an address on Newton St for a report of a possible B&E.  The reporting party believed a subcontractor working for the Town had left their keys in the ignition of a forklift parked on the property. It appears as though someone drove the forklift from the front of the yard into the recycling area of the transfer station, which contained televisions and lawn mowers waiting to be recycled. It appeared that several traffic control cones were knocked over, but that there was no other damage to property. The forklift was parked very closely to the original spot it had been left at on Friday. There was no apparent damage done to the forklift.  At this point he has no further information as to whether one of the subcontractors moved the forklift or it was moved by someone trespassing on the property.

On May 22, 2017 Officers responded to an address on Commonwealth Ave.  for a report of a shoplifting.  A supervisor reports watching a subject take items off of the shelf and put them in his back pack, then run from the store.  They then saw the subject get into a vehicle on Commonwealth Ave and drive off. Store surveillance showed a male approximately 30 YOA, wearing blue jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt, a baseball hat, and a back pack.  The video has been placed into evidence. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

On 5/22/2017 Officers responded to an address on Harvard Ave for a report of a stolen bicycle. The victim reports locking his bike to the bike rack beside his apt. and when he returned the bike was gone. The bike is described as a red GMC Denali bike with black handlebars.

On 05/22/17 Officers responded to an address on Greenough St. for a report of a live attempted residential breaking and entry.  The caller had observed a female attempt to break into her home through a back sliding screen door and when confronted ran away in an unknown direction. Officers observed the back sliding screen to have several fresh cuts around the handle of the door. Units canvassed the area which yielded negative results.  

On May 22, 2017 Officers responded to an address on Columbia Street for a report of a package theft. The victim reports that he received confirmation via E-mail from UPS that his package had been delivered on this date. When they returned home they were unable to find their package. The front porch is open and is not equipped with security surveillance cameras. A report has been filed.

5-23-2017

On Tuesday May 23rd, 2017 Officers were dispatched to Mountfort St and Carlton St for a two car traffic crash. Upon arrival Officers observed one vehicle to have major front end damage, and a second . vehicle had moderate rear end damage. After an investigation one operator was cited for Article VII Section 4: Following Too Closely. No vehicles were towed.

5-19 thru 5-22 Accidents / Fraud / Malicious Damage

5-19-17

On May 19, 2017 Officers responded to an address on Newton Street for a multi-vehicle crash with injury. After investigating the scene it was determined that the vehicle in traffic had collided with several parked cars. 2 vehicles were towed. Minor injuries reported.

On 5/19/2017 an Officer was involved in a motor vehicle accident with police cruiser while attempting to make a traffic stop. No injuries were reported.

On Friday 05-19-2017 Officers responded to an address on Beacon St. for a report of a gunshot victim down with an abdominal wound.  After an investigation it was determined that no one had been shot, nor had any shots been fired. The caller was subsequently transported to the hospital for an unrelated reason and will be summonsed to Brookline District Court for Possession Class B (94C/C).

On May 19, 2017, I, Officers responded to the area of  Dudley Street and Lee Street on reports of an accident involving a bicyclist. After an investigation it was revealed that the accident occurred in the rotary. The bicyclist suffered a few minor scratches and minor damage to his bike.

On 05/19/2017, Officers responded to the Brookline Police Station on a report of a fall on Town Property.  Photos of the side walk where the subject reported falling were taken and appeared to have no defects.

On 05/19/2017, Officers were dispatched to an address on Boylston St.  for a report of found credit cards with possible suspicious activity. The reporting party informed the officers they had found numerous credit cards. The found property will be stored in an evidence locker, and a follow-up will be conducted by the Detective Division.

On May 19th, 2017, Officers responded to an address on Francis St for a report of Identity Fraud via the United States Postal Service. The victim reports receiving a letter from the United States Postal Service confirming a change of address however they had not requested a change of address. The FTC Identity Theft Division was alerted. The victim reports that a package has already been shipped to New York.

On May 19th, 2017, Officers responded to an address on Holden St  for a report of a broken window. The victim states her kitchen window had been damaged sometime during the night.  Detectives were called to the scene to investigate. Photos were taken of the damage. No access was gained into the house.

5-20-17

On Saturday May 20, a Brookline Officer turned in a key he had found in the area of Harvard St and Steadman St. Attempts to locate the owner on scene were made but were unsuccessful.  Later that day the owner of the key responded to the Brookline police Station and retrieved the key.

On 05/20/2017 Officers responded to an address on Park Street for a report of a stolen phone. The victim reports that when she realized her phone was gone, she tried to locate it with the Track My Phone app. She was able to track it moving from the area of Longwood Avenue and eventually stopped at the intersection of Beacon Street and Strathmore Road. At that point the phone had been turned off. Officers responded to Beacon Street and Strathmore Road but were unable to locate the phone. There are cameras in the area where the victim believes the phone was taken from so a follow-up by the Brookline Detectives will be conducted.

5-21-2017

On 5-21-2017, Officers responded to Harvard St. at Fuller St. for a report of a man wearing only an American flag running in traffic.  After an investigation the subject was transported to the hospital for assistance.

On May 21, Officers responded to an address on Strathmore Rd. for a report of malicious damage to multiple motor vehicles.  One vehicle had damage to its windshield, which appeared to have been caused by a brick which was lying nearby. A second vehicle had significant damage to the passenger side mirror and a 2x4 piece of wood was located on the ground in close proximity.  Detectives were called to the scene for photos.

On May 21, 2017, A citizen walked into the Brookline Police Station to report a past Hit and Run Accident. The victim reports he was parked at an address on Boylston St. Chestnut Hill and when he returned to his car he noticed damage to the front right side of his vehicle. It is unclear how the vehicle was hit or what caused the damage but most likely another vehicle made contact with his vehicle when parking. The victim reports there were no witnesses to the accident and nobody left a note on his vehicle.

On May 21, 2017  a citizen contacted the Brookline Police to report finding a men's wallet at the corner of Coolidge Street at Winchester Street. Officers arrived and took custody of the wallet. The wallet has been placed into evidence for safe keeping and attempts have been made to locate the owner.

5-22-2017

On 05/22/2017 Officers responded an address on Harvard Street, for 2 patrons that had just left the restaurant without paying.  A staff member was following the 2 parties walking down Harvard Street towards Beacon Street. The Officers were able to stop all parties on Green Street. After an investigation half of the bill was paid, and one party will was summonsed into Brookline Court for  MGL (140/12) - Fraudulently Procuring Food for Credit.

5/16 - 5/17

5/16/17 – Credit Card Fraud
An officer at the front desk was approached by a woman who wanted to report fraudulent use of her Credit Card. The subject stated she is in possession of the card, but somehow someone got her credit card number and used it in another state, making several charges.

5/16/17 – Shoplifting
An officer responded to a store on Beacon St for a possible shoplifting. The store manager stated a male described as black, in his 50's, wearing all black with a black hat had stolen several items. The suspect was spotted in the store parking lot and stopped by another officer. A search of the subject revealed the items the store manager observed him steal. The subject was then placed under arrest.

5/17/17 – Warrant Arrest

An officer in the area of Boylston St. and Heath St. observed a black Saab traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer followed the vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop at Boylston St. and High St. and informed the operator of the reason for the stop and requested his license and the vehicle's registration. The operator stated that his license was suspended, and he could not produce either.  A query of the subject revealed that he had a Suspended MA license and also had a warrant for his arrest. The subject was placed under arrest without incident.

5/15/17

5/15/17 – Suspicious Activity
An officer responded to Station St for a suspicious activity call. The reporting party stated that she was walking down Kent St around 0830hrs this morning, when the rear door of a stopped maroon van opened and a male subject told her to get in the van. The reporting party ignored the male and continued walking home to contact the police. The maroon van was described as beat up with no distinctive markings on it. The male was described as White male, in his 50's, facial hair, skinny, and wearing a hat. There were two other white males were in the front seats of the van but, she was unable to describe those two males.

5/15/17 – Larceny
An officer responded to call for a package theft in an apartment on Egmont St. The reporting party stated that on 5/14/17 a package was ordered to be delivered. She went to answer a knock on the door that was believed to be the delivery person. When she opened the door, she saw children that lived upstairs walking by with what looked like the package. The officer spoke with the mother of the children who said the children did not come in with any package.

5/15/17 – Not Duly Licensed

An officer on patrol observed a black Volvo traveling on Dean Rd. that failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Clinton Rd and Dean Rd. The officer initiated a traffic stop and approached the operator. After the officer informed of her the reason for the stop and requested a license, the operator stated did not have her out of country license in her possession. A query of the operator’s information using her passport revealed she did not have an in state license and she was issued a court summons.

5/12 -5/14

5/12/17 – Shoplifting
Officers responded to a store on Beacon St for a recent shoplifting. The suspect was described as a white male with a pony tail and sunglasses, approximately 5' 8", wearing a gray sweat shirt. An employee saw the suspect filling two reusable bags full of expensive meats and told the manager. The suspect then ran out of the store carrying the two bags of goods. The store manager contacted the police and followed the suspect from the store to St Paul St where the police located them and placed the suspect under arrest.

5/12/17 - Shoplifting
Officers observed a suspect just released for a previous offense speed walking on Harvard St. towards a store. Based on previous interactions with the suspects, the officers continued to surveil him as he entered the store. Officers spotted the suspect concealing items in a bag and walking towards the store exit. After an employee attempted to stop the suspect and see what was in his bag, the officers intervened and placed the suspect under arrest.

5/12/2017 – Larceny
An officer responded to a gym on Beacon St for a past larceny. The victim stated he entered the gym at 0615hrs and put his jacket and wallet in a locked locker. The key remained with him until he entered the shower and hung his key on a towel rack. It was at this time that the victim believes his key was taken and used to access his locker. After returning to his locker and leaving, the victim realized his wallet was gone. He returned to find no one turned in his wallet and at this time, the police were contacted.

5/12/17 – Disorderly Person
Officers responded to Longwood Ave for a report of past suspicious activity. The reporting party stated that approximately 2-3 weeks ago, he was walking his dog around the neighborhood late at night he observed a lighter skinned Black or Hispanic/Latino man, husky build, approximately 5'8", walking back and forth from the windows of his neighbor’s basement apartment. The reporting party stated he seen the man acting similarly previously but did not think it odd. He believed this individual to be a "peeping tom," and confronted the suspicious person before he ran in an unknown direction. Officers advised the resident of the apartment to keep her blinds closed and told the reporting party to contact police if they see any other suspicious persons. 

5/12/17 - Credit Card Fraud
An officer responded to a store on Beacon St for a report of possible credit card fraud. An employee stated that when the suspect attempted to make a purchase, the card came up as unauthorized twice and the name on the card didn’t fit the suspect. After refusing to provide identification, the suspect left the store in a gray Mercedes. The employee then contacted the police. An officer stopped a vehicle matching the description and questioned the operator. The reporting party was brought over and identified the operator as the suspect. She was then placed under arrest.

5/12/17 – Warrant Arrest
An officer responded to Harvard St for a report of two males fighting. The reporting party stated she was walking in the area and noticed two males fighting in front of a bar on Harvard St. She described one male as a black or Hispanic male with dark hair in a ponytail carrying a black bag over his shoulder. The other male was described as a black or Hispanic male with short dark hair, 6 feet tall, wearing a red jacket. The fight ended and the males ran off. An officer in another area observed three dark-skinned males including the two matching the description. Other officers arrived to assist and one of the males admitted to being involved in the fight. While identifying the three males, a warrant was discovered for one of them and he was placed under arrest.

5/13/17 – Motor Vehicle Accident
An off duty officer driving on Washington Street, came across a single car motor vehicle accident. He requested on duty officers arrive on scene and checked on the driver who was uninjured. The motor vehicle had struck a cement light pole The driver stated that he believes he may have fallen asleep behind the wheel and was awaken from the impact of his motor vehicle.

5/13/17 – Motor Vehicle Accident
An officer responded to Seaver St. for a report of a single car accident. The operator of the vehicle stated that while she was driving on Seaver St. she came around a corner off road and came into contact with the telephone pole. She did not appear to be impaired or speeding at the time of the incident.  The operator stated she was not injured and did not want to go to the hospital and her vehicle was towed from the scene.

5/14/17 – Hit and Run
Officer responded to Mountfort St. for a motor vehicle crash. EMT’s were on site treating the operator’s injuries. The operator stated that while travelling on Mountfort St. his vehicle crashed into a another unknown vehicle who he believed to have failed to stop at the red light at the St. Mary's St. and Mountfort St. intersection. While his vehicle stopped, the second vehicle continued to move after the crash. The injured operator was unable to provide any information on the other vehicle's description because the accident occurred so suddenly. However, the vehicle should have extensive damage to the passenger side the rear.

5-12-2017 Traffic Crash, Fight, Larceny

5-12-17

On May 11, 2017, while traveling eastbound on Beacon St. Officers were flagged down by a citizen involved in a minor crash. The driver reports opening his car door into the bike travel lane and then a bicyclist struck the door. The bicyclist was not hurt and able to ride his bike. The driver was issued a citation M.G.L. c. 90 s. 14: Failure to Use Safety ( when opening door).

On 5/11/17 Officers were dispatched to Washington St and Brookline Ave for a motor vehicle accident. After speaking with both parties it was discovered that one operator was trying to take an illegal U-turn which caused the accident. No injuries were reported and no vehicles were towed. One operator was issued a Massachusetts Uniform Citation for making an illegal U-turn, causing other vehicles to slow down and brake.

On 5/11/2017 Officer’s responded to an address on High St for a report of a fight in progress.  At the time of the Officers arrival all parties had been separated. After an investigation 2 parties were summonsed into Brookline Court for Assault and Battery, Threats to Commit a Crime.

On 05-11-2017 Officers responded to an address on Gardner Rd.  to take a past larceny report. The victim reports that her wallet was stolen from a business on Harvard St. The victim believes someone she reached into her pocketbook and stole her wallet and keys while she attended to her child. Before she was able to cancel her bank card, a fraudulent transaction had already been attempted. She will try and gather more information as it pertains to the fraudulent transaction.

On May 11th, 2017 Officers were dispatched to an address on Village Way for a report of a missing child.  The reporting party states the child left for school but never showed up. He was located in another town at his grandparents home and is no longer considered missing.

5-8 thru 5-10 Blog

5-08-2017

On 5/8/17, the Brookline Police Warrant Unit, US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Boston Fugitive Unit, Cambridge and Somerville PD  arrested a subject in the area of Cameron Ave. and Fair Oaks St. in the City of Cambridge.  The subject was booked by Cambridge PD
 On May, 8, Officers responded to an address on Lawton St., for a report of a missing student.  Multiple Brookline Units responded and canvassed the area.  A short time passed and the student was located by a family member.


On 05/06/17 a citizen walked into the Brookline Police station  to file a malicious damage report. The victim reports that someone through two or three eggs at the first floor window of his apartment on Stanton Rd. Officers responded to this location and did not observe anyone in the area.  Later a call came into the station for a group of youths disturbing on Stanton Rd.  Officers responded and located the group.  The youths were cooperative with the Officers. and eventually sent on their way.

On May 8th, 2017, Officers responded to an address on Harvard St for a recent shoplifting. Brookline Dispatch described the suspect as a male, approximately in his 60's, wearing a yellow jacket and had just recently got on the 66 Bus to Dudley. Officers were able to locate the Bus and also the subject who fit the description given.  The witness was brought to the scene and positively ID  the subject that was stopped, as the one who had stolen the items. The subject was placed under arrest.

On 05/08/17 multiple Officers responded to an address on Fisher Ave., for a report of a fight in progress.  Upon  arrival officers observed a group of people in the front driveway.  Officers  were also directed to another group involved in the altercation that was getting into a car parked in the parking lot of Fisher Park. After an investigation it was determined that there  was an altercation between students  and the Brookline Police will seek summonses for CH 265:13A  Assault and Battery,  CH 275:2 Threat To Commit  A Crime.

On 5/8/17 Officers responded to an address on  Boylston St for a report of a suspicious male yelling at vehicles in traffic.  Upon arrival they  located the subject standing in front of 755 Boylston St. The subject was identified and it was determined that he had an active Default Warrant for his arrest.  The subject was placed under arrest and transported back to the station where he was booked.


5-09-2017
On May 9, 2017, Officers responded to an address on Clyde St. for a report of a traffic crash. The Officer assisted exchanging information for both parties. No injuries were reported and no vehicles were towed.  Both parties were advised to contact their insurance companies and complete a Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Crash Operator Report.

On May 9, 2017 officers assisted a DPW employee, who had opened a parking meter in the Centre Street parking lot for repair. There was a credit card that was inserted into the cash slot. During the assist, money that had not been processed was turned over to the Officer for safe keeping.  The credit card was retrieved and given back to the owner. The money was brought back to the Brookline Police station and placed into evidence locker for safe keeping.







5-11-2017 Fraud, Theft, MV accident

5-10-2017

On May, 10, 2017 Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the police station for a fraud report. After an investigation  A criminal application was filed with Brookline District Court  for Larceny by False Pretenses (266:30).

 On 5/10/17 while assigned to  Coolidge Corner Officer,  officers were   dispatched to an address on Beacon St. The reporting party states that an unknown male party, late 30's to early 40's, passed a doctor’s prescription for  Oxycodone. The reporting party felt that the amount of medicine prescribed seemed suspicious.  After an investigation it was determined that the prescription was forged. The subject did not return to pick up the fraudulent prescription. Brookline Detectives will follow-up.

 On 05/10/2017 Officers were dispatched to an address on Village Way for a report of a bicycle theft. Upon arrival they  met up with victim, who reports  locking  his electric bike on a handrail by the front door. He stated he had two locks on his bike, a code lock and a lock with a key. Sometime between 12:30-14:20 hours, these two locks were defeated and the bike was taken.  The bike is a silver frame, electric bike, no seat, black handlebars, and a blue pouch in the middle of the frame.

On May 10, 2017 Officers were dispatched to an address on Beacon Street for a motor vehicle blocking a driveway. They arrived and observed a MV parked directly in front of a driveway entrance .Officers then queried the plate and discovered that the vehicles status was revoked due to lack of insurance.  The vehicle received a parking ticket for blocking the driveway and towed because it had no insurance. The owner was issued Massachusetts Unformed Citation for (90:34J) Uninsured motor vehicle and (90:9) Unregistered motor vehicle. 

On Wednesday May 10, 2017 Officers responded to  St Marys St and Ivy St for a report of a motor vehicle accident between two vehicles with one of the vehicles attempting to leave the scene.  Both vehicles were located with one vehicle sustaining significant damage. During the investigation the officers believed that one of the operators had been drinking.  The subject performed Field Sobriety Tests and was unable to complete the tests as instructed.  The subject was placed under arrest for  Operating Under the Influence of Liquor and received a citation for the following offenses ; MGL Ch. 90 Sect. 24: Operating Under the Influence of Liquor (Second and subsequent),MGL Ch. 90 Sect. 24 (2)(A): Operating to Endanger (Negligent Operation), MGL Ch. 90 Sect. 24 (2): Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were towed.

5-11-2017

On Thursday, May 11, 2017, while conducting traffic enforcement, Officers  observed a MV travelling northbound on Harvard St. without a valid Inspection Sticker . The Officer initiated a traffic stop on  Harvard St. and Lawton St. A license check on the operator revealed he had a Suspended Drivers License. The operator was placed under arrest and charged with the following offenses; (MGL 90:23) Operating After Suspension – License and (MGL 90:20) Failure to Submit Motor Vehicle for Inspection.
The vehicle was towed.

5/8/17

Warrant Arrest
Officers from several departments located and arrested a fugitive in the City of Cambridge for crimes committed in Brookline and other towns including larceny and breaking and entering. The arrest occurred without incident.

Shoplifting
An officer responded to a store on Harvard St for a recent shoplifting. The cashier stated that she observed an older Black male wearing a yellow jacket enter the store with an empty personal cart. A short time later, the cashier saw this same man attempting to exit the store with a full cart. She stated she attempted to stop the man, but he proceeded to exit the store and get on a bus. Officers observed a male fitting the description get off a bus on Washington St. The store cashier was brought to the area and identified man as the suspect. He was then placed under arrest.

Warrant Arrest

Officers responded to Boylston St for a report of a suspicious male yelling at vehicles in traffic.  Upon our arrival the officers located the subject standing on Boylston St and identified him as an individual with an active warrant. The suspect was then placed under arrest.

5/4 - 5/7

5-04-2017

On 05/04/2017 Officers responded to an address on University Road for a past theft report. The victim reports that his shed and his upstairs neighbor’s shed were broken into. Items had been taken from both sheds.

On May 4, 2017, Officers were dispatched to Washington St. at Park St. for a report of a traffic crash. After an investigation one operator was issued Massachusetts Uniform Citation for Brookline Town By-Law Article VII Section 4, Following Too Closely. There were no reported injuries and both vehicles were drivable.

On May 4, 2017, Officers witnessed a minor motor vehicle crash at Cypress Road at Brington Road. A query on the cruiser laptop of the North Carolina Registration returned a status of revoked due to lack of insurance. The operator was issued Massachusetts Uniform Citation M.G.L. c. 90 s. 23: Operating after Revoked Insurance, M.G.L. c. 90 s. 34J: Uninsured Motor Vehicle, M.G.L. c. 90 s. 9: Unregistered Motor Vehicle. The vehicle was towed and the license plates removed.

On 5/4/2017, multiple units responded to an address on Babcock St for a report of a subject refusing to leave the premises. Officers were informed that the subject tended to become violent when confronted. It was apparent to the Officers that the subject was unstable and could not speak coherently or rationally. The subject struck the officers as they attempted to assist. The subject was transported to the hospital and will be summonsed into Brookline Court for M.G.L. c. 265 s. 15A Assault and Battery Dangerous weapon to wit "door', and M.G.L. c. 265 s.13D  A&B on a Police Officer.

On May 4, 2017 Officers responded to an address on Beacon Street, for a report of Identity Theft. The victim reports the incident had occurred back in the 2012. He was notified by the Bank last year that a checking account was opened in his name, which became delinquent. Their investigation revealed that a female in Michigan had opened the delinquent account in the year 2012. Today while attempting to place a freeze on his credit history he was advised by the crediting bureau that they will need police report. He was advised to contact the three credit monitoring agencies to report his identity theft.

On May 4, 2017 the Massachusetts Probation Electronic Monitoring Program contacted the Brookline Police Department and advised that a subject with three outstanding arrest warrants in effect, was showing a GPS location on Franklin Court, Brookline.  Officers responded to the Address provided by the GPS monitoring bracelet and located the subject. He was placed under arrest without incident. The Massachusetts Probation Electronic Monitoring Program was notified that the subject was placed under arrest.

On 5-4-17 a subject came to the Brookline Police Station to report that her checking account had unauthorized purchases. She stated that there were 3 charges made at Macy's in Flushing NY. The victim still has possession of the charge card, and was advised to cancel it. A report was filed.

5-05-2017

On 05/05/2017 Officers were conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Harvard Street and Beacon Street and observed a vehicle drive in the bike lane and parking spaces. The officers were able to stop the vehicle on Naples Road.  As they were speaking with the operator they detected an odor of alcoholic beverages coming from her person. The Officers conducted a Field Sobriety Test and determined, due to the subjects inability to successfully complete the tests that the subject was under the influence. She was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

On 5-5-2017 Officers responded to Boylston St. at Norfolk Rd. for a motor vehicle crash.  Both operators were uninjured and Officers assisted with the exchange of paper work.  One operator was cited for following too closely.  One vehicle was towed from the scene.

On 5/5/17 Officers were conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Washington St and Davis Ave. when they observed a vehicle fail to stop for the red light. The Officers activated the cruisers emergency blue lights and conducted a traffic stop in front of 333 Washington St.  A query of the operator’s license revealed that his right to operate a motor vehicle was suspended. The operator was issued Massachusetts Uniform Citation for Operating after Suspension and Red light violation. He was advised that he will be summonsed into Brookline District court for the above offenses. The vehicle was turned over to a licensed driver.

On May 5th, 2017, Officers responded to an address on Kent St for a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival officers observed a motor vehicle with severe front middle and front right damage as well as damage to the right front quarter panel. They noticed a second vehicle with significant damage to the rear middle bumper, trunk, and left rear quarter panel. No injuries were reported and both vehicles needed to be towed. The operator believed she hydroplaned into the parked vehicle.

5-06-17

On 05-06-2017 Officers responded to an address on Boylston St. for a disturbance. Upon arrival the Officer spoke with a subject who appeared intoxicated. After speaking with the subject it was decided that he would be placed into protective custody until he sobered up. Once at the station the subject requested an ambulance and he was transported to the hospital.

On May 6, 2017, Officers responded to a business on Harvard Street that reported a suspected shoplifter had just left the store, and got into a vehicle.  A vehicle description was given out and responding officers located this vehicle near Lawton and Thorndike Street. The Officers conducted a traffic stop.  At this time responding units requested Brookline Dispatch to query the driver and the vehicle. Brookline Control confirmed through the Massachusetts RMV that the status of his license is suspended and the status of the vehicle is active. During the investigation, officers located heroin in the mirror on the driver side sun visor. The driver was placed under arrest and issued MA Uniform Citation for: M.G.L. Ch. 90 S. 23: Operating after Suspension, M.G.L. Ch. 90 S. 13A Operating a Motor Vehicle without a Seatbelt as well as M.G.L. Ch.94C S. 34: Possession of Class A Substance (Heroin). The passenger was arrested and charged with M.G.L. Ch. 266 S.30 Larceny Over $250, M.G.L. Ch. 265 S. 15B: Assault With A Dangerous Weapon.  The vehicle was towed.

On 5/6/2017 Officers responded to an address on South St., for a report of a past assault and battery.  After an investigation it was determined that the situation was a misunderstanding and all parties were advised.

On 05/06/17 a citizen walked into the Brookline Police Station to report his wallet had been stolen. The victim states he was at an establishment on Commonwealth Ave. and placed his personal belongings in an unlocked locker.  When he left at approximately he noticed his wallet was missing. The wallet was a men's wallet containing I.Ds and credit cards. The victim has already cancelled all of his credit/debit cards and reported them to the card companies, and major credit bureaus.

05-07-2017

On 07 May 2017 Officers, while on patrol near the intersection of Beacon Street (westbound) and Englewood Avenue, observed a dark colored sedan turn right from Englewood Avenue on to Beacon Street.  The vehicle failed to both yield and stay in the right most lane while making the turn; forcing the officer to brake hard behind him as he was crossing over to the left lane of Beacon Street.  The Officer activated the overhead blue lights and safely conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Beacon Street and Strathmore Road. The Officer observed an odor of burning rubber as well as damage to the front driver's side of the vehicle.  Brookline Dispatch contacted Boston Police and inquired if they had had any hit-and-run accidents recently in the area.  A short time later, they informed the officers that there was a hit-and-run accident with property damage near the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Chestnut Hill Avenue.  Boston responded to the scene and after an investigation it was determined that this vehicle was involved in a crash and the vehicle fled the scene. The operator agreed to Field Sobriety Testing. After the tests were complete the subject was placed under arrest and charged with the following: MGL 90 s. 24 Operation under the influence (liquor), MGL 89 s.8 Failure to yield to oncoming traffic. The vehicle was towed.

On May 7, 2017, Officers responded to an address on Harvard Street for a theft of a bicycle. The victim reports that he locked his electric, Sondors bicycle had been stolen. There was no evidence of how the bicycle was stolen and in the immediate area of the meters and there does not appear to be any cameras aimed towards this location. He believes someone gained access by unlocking his bicycle lock.

On 5/7/2017 Officers responded to an address on Babcock St. for a reported assault.  The assault happened to parties familiar with each other and may have been the result of medication issues. 2 parties are being summonsed into Brookline Court, M.G.L. Ch. 265 s 13a Assault and Battery.


On 5/7/2017, Detectives responded to an address on Tappan St for vandalism to a vehicle that had its four tires slashed or air let out of them.  The vehicle and tires were photographed. A partial fingerprint was developed on the side panel above the right rear tire. It was photographed and lifted to be submitted to the ID Unit for further analysis.

5-1 thru 5-4 2017 MV Crash/ Larceny/ Wanted Person

5-01-2017

On 5/1/2017 Officers responded to the Brookline Police Station to speak with a party about Identity Theft.  The victim reports that she completed a credit report through Equifax and the report indicated that in September of 2012 a lien was filed on a property located in Lawrence MA  for the amount of $12,209. The victim reports she never purchased property in Lawrence nor has she ever lived there. A report was filed and she was advised.

On May 1, 2017, Brookline Police, Brookline Fire Department, and Fallon Ambulance responded to Harvard and Webster St. for a fall outside.  The subject was transported to the Hospital as a precaution.

On 05/01/2017, Officers responded to an address on Winthrop Road to take a stolen bicycle report. The victim states he locked his bike to a pole in front of a business on Washington Street, and when he returned the bike and lock was gone. The bike is described as an 18-Speed Bianchi LYNX-SX dark green mountain bike. A report was filed.

On May 1, 2017 Officers responded to a two car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Babcock Street at Abbottsford Road., which is a public way in the Town of Brookline. They arrived and observed two motor vehicles in the middle of the intersection with both drivers standing in the roadway. After an investigation it was determined that one vehicle attempted an improper pass, causing the accident. One operator was cited, no one reported any injuries, and no vehicles needed to be towed.


5-02-17

On 05/02/2017, Officers responded to an address on Marshall St for a report of a stolen wallet. The victim reports while attending a party on Gibbs St the victim reports he placed his wallet on the deck and noticed it missing at the end of night. Victim not sure who may have taken it. A report has been filed.

On 5/2/17 Officers responded to an address on Aspinwall Ave on a fraud report. The victim stated  he received a letter in the mail from the Home Depot fraud department. In the letter it explained that someone had fraudulently used his credit card to make several purchases. The victim has been working with the fraud department. The credit card has been canceled by Home Dept and the victim has been issued a new card.


5-03-2017

On 05-03-2017 Officers responded to an address on Freeman St. to meet the registered owner of a car that had been damaged.  The Officer observed a red Subaru Imprezza with the window of the right rear window smashed out. It does not appear access was gained because no personal items including a radio head unit and other electronic cords were not disturbed or taken.  There are no cameras on the front of the building which would have captured the incident. A report has been filed.

On 5-3-2017 Officers responded to a MV crash on Route 9 West bound. One vehicle stopped in traffic and a second vehicle crashed into the stopped vehicle. One operator was transported to the hospital for minor injuries. One citation was issued for Following too Closely and Operating an Unregistered MV. One vehicle was towed.

On 05-03-2017 Officers responded to an address on Euston St. for a package theft report.  The victim reports getting an email receipt for two packages. A neighbor notified her that the packages had been torn open and their contents removed. The victim reports that she noticed that the packaging itself smelled strongly of cigarette smoke.  This stood out to her because she experienced the same thing from a prior unreported package theft several months ago and believes the suspect may be a heavy smoker.  Similar details regarding cigarette smoke were reported by victims of a car break on Green St. from April. The packaging was submitted into evidence to be examined for latent finger prints.

On May 3, 2017, Officers were made aware, by the FBI, of an individual who was wanted for threats to law enforcement.  The FBI informed Brookline Detectives that the subject was currently located in Brookline, on Washington St. Detectives arrived in the area and locate the subject. After a brief struggle, and one of the detectives being struck in the head, the subject was taken into custody.  A court complaint was completed for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (C.265,s.15A) for hitting the detective with a  bottle. The FBI will be filing additional charges.

On 5-03-2017 Officers responded to Carlton Street on reports of an accident between a cyclist and an MV. After an investigation it was determined that the cyclist was operating in the wrong direct and was attempting to cross Carlton Street when the crash occurred.  There were no injuries reported and the cyclist was issued a citation for one way violation.

On Thursday, May 4, 2017, Officers responded to reports of a traffic crash at the intersection of Freeman St. and St. Paul St.  Upon arrival, officers observed that two vehicles had been involved in a traffic crash. After an investigation one operator was issued a citation for Failing  to Use Care when Stopping. No reported injuries and no vehicles were towed.

5/1/17

5/1/17 – Operating with a Suspended License
An officer conducting traffic enforcement observed a gray minivan make an illegal turn onto Beacon St. The officer performed a traffic stop and a query of the operator’s license revealed he had a suspended license. The operator was informed of the information and was placed under arrest without incident.

5/1/17 – Multi Vehicle Accident
A vehicle traveling on Newton St failed to stop at a stop sign and came in contact with another vehicle traveling on West Roxbury PKWY. The operator of the first vehicle was issued Mass Uniform Citation for failure to stop for stop sign.

4/28 to 4/30

04/28/17 – Shoplifting
Officers responded to a store on Harvard St for a shoplifting. An employee stated she observed the suspect attempting to leave the store without paying for items that he previously concealed. The suspect admitted to taking the items and stated his intent to sell them. He was then placed under arrest.

4/28/17 –Larceny
An officer responded to a gym on Commonwealth Ave for a past larceny. The victim stated he placed his black leather wallet in an unlocked locker in the locker room at approximately 1930 hours and returned at approximately 2100 hours to find the wallet was missing from the locker.

4/28/17 – Damage of Town Property
An officer patrolling on Beacon Street observed a parking meter "uprooted" from the tree lawn. It appeared that someone used force to rock it back and forth until the concrete base was exposed and laid horizontally. The officer discovered another fallen parking meter that also appeared to be disrupted in the same fashion as the previous.

4/29/17 – Bike Larceny
An officer responded to Irving St for a larceny of four bicycles. The owners stated that sometime between 4/25/17 and 4/29/17 four bicycles were stolen from their garage. One bicycle is black with grey lettering and a leather seat. The second bicycle is white. The third is black and red. The fourth is red.

4/29/17 – Found Property
An officer on patrol was approached by a citizen regarding a wallet that was found outside the Coolidge Corner Movie Theatre. Attempts to contact the owner were made but, were unsuccessful.

4/29/17 – Suspicious Activity
An officer responded to Winthrop Road for a suspicious activity report. The reporting party stated that at 1200 hours she noticed a male party in the driveway behind her building looking into her room while she was undressed, possibly filming her with a cell phone. The reporting party described him as a white male, 30-40 years of age, heavy set, average height, wearing a brown and white striped shirt, and white sneakers.

4/29/2017 – Operating Under the Influence
An officer responded to a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries at Beacon St and Tappan St. The officer observed a Blue Toyota with the front end against a Gray Toyota with its rear end pushed in and the front end pinned up against a tree. After speaking to a couple of witnesses and the passengers of the vehicle that was struck, the officer began to speak with the operator of the second vehicle. The officer observed a moderate odor of alcohol coming from his breath and it was clear he was unsteady on his feet. The investigation determined that he was operating his motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor and he was placed under arrest.

4/30/17 – Fugitive from Justice

Officers on their way to a call observed a vehicle parked illegally at a fire hydrant on Washington St a query of the vehicle revealed the owner was wanted for arrest in Rhode Island. A subject exited a store and returned to the vehicle before being pulled over by the officers. Once the subject was confirmed to be the wanted person, she was placed under arrest without incident.
