Malicious Damage:

Occurred on 12/18 – Longwood Ave.

Officers responded to the area for for a report of suspicious activity.

The victim reported at 10:30 AM he found his front living room window damaged. A bb pellet was found stuck in the door jamb and it appeared to have been shot from the street or the opposite sidewalk. The victim did not report hearing any suspicious noises or glass breaking over the night.

B&E&L of MV:

Occurred on 12/16-12/17 – Brookline Ave.

Officers responded for a report of a B&E&L from a motor vehicle. The victim stated he parked his vehicle at approximately 4:30 AM, and when he came back at 8 AM, he noticed the passenger side window was smashed. A GPS, a winter jacket, and a box of tools were stolen.

Occurred 12/16-12/17 – Chapel St.

Officers responded for report of a B&E&L of a motor vehicle. The victim left her car parked at approximately 11:35 PM, and when she returned back this morning the window was smashed and her bag and belongings were taken.

OUI:

Occurred on 12/17 at 12:58 AM – Harvard St./Longwood Ave.

Officer M. Lee was monitoring traffic at Harvard St/Longwood Av when he observed a vehicle traveling westbound on Beacon St, cross the stop line and go through the intersection of Beacon St/Harvard St on a red light. The vehicle was stopped a short while later by Sergeant Paster, who also observed it go through the red light. Paster also observed that the vehicle was swerving within its lane and crossing the white dotted line. The vehicle nearly struck the sidewalk/handicap accessible ramp at Beacon St./Summit Ave.

After further investigation, the driver was placed under arrest for Failure to Stop, Red Light, Failure to Stay within Marked Lanes, and Operating Under the Influence (Liquor)

Shoplifting:

Occurred on 12/17 at 5:30 PM – TJ Maxx (525 Harvard St.)

Officer Mayer responded to T.J.Maxx for a report of 2 shoplifters that were being held by security. A winter hat, 2 shirts, and 2 bottles of nail polish were taken. A register receipt was made listing theses items and placed into evidence.

A check of one of them revealed and confirmed that he had an outstanding default warrant in effect for his arrest for traffic offenses, and he was subsequently arrested. The other suspect was issued a verbal no trespass order by a Loss Prevention officer.

Larceny:

Occurred between 12/10-12/18 – James St.

Officers responded to take a past larceny report. The victims stated that on 12/10 she removed two luggage bags out of storage and left them unsecured in the basement storage area. On 12/18, she could not locate them. All the residents have access to this area, as well as meter readers and cleaners.

Occurred on 12/17 at 3:45 PM – Beacon St./St. Paul St.

A victim reported a larceny of her cell phone. She had a party in her apartment and noticed the phone was missing afterwards. She activated the GPS and discovered it was at an apartment on Commonwealth Ave., but could not locate it further than that.

Occurred on 12/16 between 9 AM and 5:45 PM – Sterns Rd.

Officers were dispatched for report of a stolen package. The victim left his apartment at 9 AM, and when he returned at 5:45 AM he discovered the package ripped open at the top of the stairs.

Occurred on 12/16 between 11:30 and 4:30 PM – St. Paul St.

Officers responded for a report of a larceny of a package. The victim stated his package was delivered at 11:30 AM, and when he arrived home at 4:30 PM, he noticed that the package had been opened and its contents missing.

The same individual was also a victim of a package larceny on 12/7, between 10:30 AM and 6 PM.

MV Crash:

Occurred on 12/16 at 1:45 PM – Coolidge Corner

Officers responded for a MV crash. MV #1 was travelling eastbound on Beacon St when MV #2 made an improper left turn from Harvard St onto Beacon St and struck MV #1. MV #1 was towed, and the operator of MV #2 was issued a citation for an improper left turn.

Occurred on 12/16 at 10:47 AM – Clyde St./Country Rd.

Officers responded for a report of a motor vehicle crash. The operator of MV #1 reported that he was traveling southbound on Clyde St. approaching the intersection with Lee St. He then attempted to turn left onto Country Rd. from the left lane on the southbound side of Clyde St. MV #2 was traveling in the left lane southbound from Lee St. onto Clyde St. They crashed, and the operator of MV #2 was transported to the hospital.

Due to an incident that occurred at the Jack Kirrane Ice Skating Rink at the Larz Anderson Park in Brookline, Michael Milbury of Needham, MA, will be charged with 1 count of Assault and Battery on a Child, 1 count of Threats to Commit a Crime, and Disorderly Conduct. The incident occurred during a Pee Wee hockey game at the rink, where he was an assistant coach for one of the teams.

Milbury is being represent by Daniel Rabinovitz of Boston, MA.

12/15-12/16

Hit & Run:

Occurred on 12/15 at 12:29 AM – Coolidge Corner

Officers on patrol near Coolidge Corner were advised to be on the lookout for a vehicle that had just left the scene of a car crash. Officer Kerrigan located the vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop at Beacon St. and Englewood Ave. There was minor damage to the front bumper of the vehicle. The description given by the victim matched the description of the driver of the vehicle that was stopped.

The suspect was placed under arrest for Leaving the scene of a property damage accident and Operating a motor vehicle with out a valid license. He also had a default warrant for his arrest from Dorchester District Court.

Larceny:

Occurred on 12/15 at 11:45 AM – Sweat & Soul Yoga (1032A Commonwealth Ave.)

Officers responded to take a larceny report. The victim stated that while she was in yoga class, her wallet was taken out of her purse that was hanging on one of the hooks inside the front door. The suspect is a student that got up and left the class early. She is described as a white female in her early 20's, approximately 5'4 with brown hair.

MV Crash:

Occurred on 12/14 at 2:51 PM – Harvard St./Pierce St.

The operator of MV #1 was travelling southbound on Harvard Street when she made contact with a bicyclist who was riding her bicycle across Harvard Street. She reported not seeing her crossing the street. The cyclist was transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

Larceny:

Warren St-

Officers were dispatched to take a larceny report. An employee doing some work on a house noticed that some of the down spouts were missing. Nothing else was reported missing.

B&E&L of MV:

Occurred on 12/13 between 7:30 & 8:30 PM – TJ Maxx (525 Harvard St.)

An individual approached an officer to report that her vehicle had a smashed window. Her GPS was missing. There were no signs of pry marks on the window frame, and no tools were left behind at the scene. Surveillance video of the parking lot reveals the suspect on a bicycle entering from the Lawton St. side. He then rides around the area where the vehicle is parked and then is seen at a distance directly next to the vehicle. The suspect then exits the parking lot through the main Harvard St. exit/entrance in the direction of Commonwealth Ave. He appears to be a white or Hispanic male, unknown adult age, wearing a black jacket, light blue jeans, white/blue sneakers, and a navy blue hat. After viewing the video, the suspect is also seen wearing grey colored winter gloves, although it is unknown if these were worn during the break (as the suspect's body was blocked by an adjacent parked vehicle).

A similar incident occurred in the parking lot of the Starbucks at 473 Harvard St. That victim reports parking at 6 PM and returning to her vehicle at 8 PM. The front passenger side window had been smashed out, and the vehicle rummaged through. There appeared to be pry marks on the window frame from some kind of tool used for leverage. Her GPS and a camera were stolen.

Failure to Stop:

Occurred on 12/11 at 2:05 AM – Washington St./Boylston St.

Sergeant R. Disario was stopped at the intersection of Washington St at Boylston St when he observed a vehicle traveling west on Boylston St at a high rate of speed. Disario followed the vehicle as it continued to increase its speed. It then slowed down as it approached the intersection of Sumner Rd. He activated his blue lights in an attempt to stop the vehicle, but instead it turned left onto Buckminster Rd. and then right onto Clinton Rd. The vehicle, unable to make a turn due to it’s speed, then continued off the roadway, onto the curb, over the tree lawn and through a green wooden fence that protects a property on Clinton Rd. The vehicle also struck several bushes that were inside the fence and sideswiped a tree in the corner of the property.

The driver is being charged with the following:

Failure to stop for police

Not duly licensed

Operating M/V to endanger

Speeding

Failure to stop for stop sign

A warrant for his arrest was also discovered for Operating a MV not Duly Licensed.

MV Crash:

Occurred on 12/11 at 1:43 AM – Independence Dr.

An officer on patrol observed a vehicle off to the side of the road on Independence Drive. The driver was seen standing outside the vehicle looking at his driver's side front tire. He stated that he was in a car crash and struck a tree. There were no injuries reported.

Shoplifting:

Occurred on 12/10 at 7:45 PM – Walgreens (99 Harvard St.)

Officers responded for a report of an attempted shoplifting. Dispatch relayed that a black male about 65 years old, wearing a black leather jacket with rips and a black female about 50 years old, unknown clothing, had attempted to steal 4 cartons of cigarettes. The suspects fled in an unknown direction.

Malicious Damage:

Occurred between 12/9 and 12/10 – Clark Rd.

The victim stated that he had parked his vehicle in his garage on 12/9 at approximately 4 PM. When he returned on 12/10, he found scratches and gauge marks on the hood of the car.

OUI:

Occurred at 3:20 AM on 12/10 – Harvard St./Beals St.

Officers Vragovic and A. Amendola observed a vehicle travelling westbound on Longwood Avenue, weaving in and out of the lane of travel. The vehicle continually crossed over the marked lines on the roadway and was unable to stay to the right of the marked line separating directions of travel. They initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Harvard St. and Beals St. Upon approaching the driver’s side window, an odor of alcohol was detected coming from the vehicle. After further investigation, the driver was placed under arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, and was issued citations for Improper Right Turn and a Marked Lanes Violation.

Larceny:

Occurred on 12/12 between 1:50-3:20 PM - Harvard St./Alton Pl.

Officers responded to take a report for a larceny of a bicycle. The victim used a cable lock to secure his bicycle to the "One Way " sign located at the corner. When he returned, he discovered that his bicycle and the lock were missing from the pole.

The bicycle is described as an adult size brown, Trek 7.2 FX bicycle, and it has a rear bicycle rack and a storage bag attached to the middle of the frame.

Occurred on 12/9 between 7:30-8 PM – CVS (294 Harvard St.)

A victim reported her wallet had been stolen. She stated that she placed it on a counter to view some merchandise. A short time later, she looked for it and it was missing.

Occurred on 12/10 at 2 PM – Anna’s Taqueria (1412 Beacon St.)

A victim reported his wallet had been stolen. He stated that he used his wallet to pay for a food purchase and when he finished his meal, he could not locate his wallet. The store was crowded, however he did not notice anything unusual in the area he was sitting.

Occurred on 12/8– High St.

Officers responded for a reported theft of a package. The victim stated that according to the tracking, the package was delivered on 12/8 at 12:23 PM. There is no further information.

Occurred between 12/9 and 12/10 – Beacon St./St. Paul St.

Officers were dispatched for a larceny report. The foreman stated that mining grade electrical cable was cut from the generator and pump, and stolen between 6:30 PM on 12/9 and 8 AM on 12/10. Detectives are currently investigating.

Occurred between 12/7 & 12/8 – James St.

Officers responded to take a larceny report. The victim stated she went to her front vestibule on 12/8 at approximately 2pm to pick up a package that she had ordered. Her package was not there, so she went and confirmed the delivery with UPS. It was confirmed as delivered to the front door on 12/7/11 at 3:12 PM.

A neighbor confirmed seeing it on the afternoon of the 7^th in the vestibule. There is no further information at this time.

Missing Juvenile has been located.

Missing Juvenile has been found. She was located early this morning and is safe and unharmed. She has been considered missing since Dec 5th as she left school. She had made some contact with family and friends. As for the particulars on her being located those details are not ready to be released.

12/8-12/9

Disorderly Conduct:

Occurred on 12/9 at 2:52 AM – Beacon St./Winchester St.

Officer Vragovic responded to a call for a suspicious person making loud noise. The caller stated that she heard 10-15 loud bangs and thought that somebody was trying to break into a residence or a business establishment. 5 minutes later, Vragovic observed an individual walking north bound on Winchester St. with his pants unbuttoned, a belt in his hand and bleeding from his neck and leg. He stopped the individual at the intersection of Centre St. and Fuller St, and other officers were dispatched. The individual appeared heavily intoxicated and was not able to communicate clearly what he was doing. A DPW employee approached the officers and stated that he was operating his street sweeper on Beacon St. when he observed the individual kicking windows and hitting the wall of the residences and business establishments.

The individual refused to respond to questions on how he had hurt himself. Additionally he refused to answer any questions pertaining to kicking the windows on Beacon St. He then proceeded to antagonize officers, responding firefighters and paramedics. He was placed under arrest, and charged with the following offenses:

Disorderly Person

2 counts of Assault and Battery on a Police Officer

Possession of a Fake ID

2 counts of Malicious Destruction of Property

Resisting Arrest

Occurred on 12/9 at 12:45 AM – Harvard St./Columbia St.

Officer M. Lee was on scene and assisting Officer Vragovic with a traffic stop. An unrelated subject approached the police cruiser, and was stumbling forward with his left arm outstretched shouting "Officer". He was ordered to sit down, and he was observed to have several abrasions to the knuckles of his left hand, a torn left pants leg and appeared to have urinated himself. There was a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from him, and he appeared to be highly intoxicated. He was incoherent and unable to articulate what happened.

When an ambulance arrived, he became agitated and tried to stand up. He then abruptly stood up and began to run for no known reason into the street, screaming incoherently. The officers were able to place him into custody for being a Disorderly Person. He is additionally being charged with Resisting Arrest and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer.

Occurred on 12/8 at 8:55 PM – Park St.

Sgt. Lawlor and Officers Morgan, Sutherland, and Stephenson responded to the area for a report of a possible prowler or peeper in the rear of the building. Upon their arrival, they went to the rear of the building where they observed an Asian male in a secluded alcove area of the outside of the building. Morgan approached the male and asked him what he was doing. After some questioning, he admitted he was trespassing.

The victim stated that this was not the first time she had seen this male. On 12/06/11, between 8-9 PM, she was in her bedroom when she heard what sounded like footsteps or someone walking outside. She did not report this to the police.

On 12/07/11 between 8:15-8:30 PM she had heard similar noises in the rear alcove area of the building that is next to her bedroom. This time she looked up to her window and observed a shadowy figure with the outline of a hood or sweatshirt. This person was looking in her window and then walking around the courtyard. This lasted for approximately 20-30 minutes.

On 12/08/11, at approximately 8:30 PM, the victim again heard someone out in the alcove. She waited a few minutes and then called the police.

The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Peeping.

MV Crash:

Occurred on 12/8 at 9:48 PM – Pond Ave. Rotary

Officers responded for a three car crash. Vehicle #3 was stopped at the entrance to the rotary waiting for other cars in front to enter. Vehicle #2 was stopped behind Vehicle #3, while Vehicle #1 was approaching the rotary behind Vehicle #2 and failed to stop in a timely manner, colliding into Vehicle #2. The collision caused Vehicle #2 to rear end Vehicle #3. Vehicle #1 was issued a citation for following too closely.

Pedestrian Accident:

Occurred on 12/8 at 6:23 PM – Reservoir MBTA Station

Officers were dispatched for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. The victim stated she was crossing Chestnut Hill Ave. inside the marked crosswalk towards the MBTA station. As she was crossing she was struck by a vehicle. She was transported to the hospital for evaluation. The driver was issued a citation for failure to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

12/7-12/8

B&E&L of MV:

Occurred on 12/7 at 6:30 PM – Alton Pl.

A B&E victim came to the police station to report a breaking and entering of her motor vehicle. The victim reports parking her vehicle at 5:30 PM. She believes she heard a loud "popping" sound in the vicinity near where her vehicle was parked. At 6:15 PM, she entered her vehicle, and realized that her side window was shattered, with remnants of glass throughout the passenger compartment. Only her lunch bag was missing.

Larceny:

Occurred on 12/7 at 7:55 PM – Panera Bread (888 Commonwealth Ave.)

Officers responded for a report of a stolen purse. The suspect was described as a black male, 5'-07" to 5'-09" in height, average build, wearing a dark long sleeve shirt over a white shirt, and loose fitting jeans that had a white print on the pockets. The suspect was clean shaven, and wearing a black "beanie" on his head. He was carrying a black or navy puffy winter jacket that had an item concealed in it. He left the scene in a black sedan.

The victim stated that she was seated at a table in the dining room with her purse hanging on the back of her chair. At approximately 7:45 PM, she noticed that her purse was no longer on the chair. She then started checking around the other tables trying to locate it, and was approached by a group of girls who were sitting at a nearby table. They informed her that they were outside between 7 and 7:10 PM, and they believe they saw a subject leaving the restaurant with her purse.

The victim was able to cancel her ATM card, and was informed that there was no recent activity on it. Surveillance footage from cameras in the restaurant will be viewed.

Occurred between 12/4-12/6 – Aspinwall Ave.

A larceny victim came to the front desk of the police station to report the theft of his bicycle. He last saw his bicycle on 12/4/11, at approximately 6:00 PM, and discovered it missing on 12/6/11, at 9:00am. The bicycle, a green Giant Iguana men's mountain bike, had been chained along the side of his residence. The chain he used to lock the bicycle was also taken.

Malicious Damage:

Occurred between 12/6-12/7 – Worthington St.

Officers responded for a malicious damage report. The victim stated that someone had thrown a brick through the rear driver's side window of her company vehicle. Nothing was taken from the vehicle. There is no further information at this time.

12/6-12/7

OUIL:

Occurred on 12/7 at 12:34 AM – Brookline Place

Officer Richards was heading east on Washington St. towards Brookline Ave. when he observed a vehicle on the opposite side of the road blocking one lane of traffic displaying emergency lights. When he pulled in, he noticed the driver standing on the sidewalk talking on her cell phone. Both the driver and passenger side airbags had been deployed on the vehicle, as she had struck a light pole. Fire and ambulance were dispatched to the area.

Richards attempted to question her as to what happened to cause the accident, but had difficulty because she was speaking very slowly and seemed to be having trouble formulating full sentences. He could also detect a strong odor of alcohol when she spoke.

The vehicle and the light pole had extensive damage on them. After further investigation, it was determined that she was Operating Under the Influence of Liquor and was subsequently arrested.

B&E&L of MV Attempt:

Occurred on 12/7 at 12:21 AM – Goddard Ave.

Officers responded for an attempted larceny of a motor vehicle. A caretaker reported that he heard the car alarm go off and came out and saw the car lights flashing and caught a glimpse of a thin, white male wearing a knit stocking cap and a dark jacket and dark dungarees next to the motor vehicle. He then chased the suspect down the drive way which leads to Goddard Ave. and eventually lost sight of the suspect.

The vehicle’s door was still locked, but one of the pieces for the front grill was missing. Nothing else was reported missing at this time.

Pedestrian Accident:

Occurred on 12/6 8:59 PM – St. Paul St./Alton Pl.

Officers responded for a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. The victim was transported to the hospital for further treatment. The driver did stop and attempt to help the victim. The crash investigation is currently ongoing.

MV Crash:

Occurred on 12/6 at 5:16 PM – Pearl St./Brookline Ave.

Officers were dispatched for a report of an MV crash. The driver of MV #1 stated he was traveling eastbound on Pearl Street and was attempting to take a left hand turn onto Brookline Ave, when he drove directly into MV #2, which was traveling northbound on Brookline Ave.

Assault:

Occurred on 12/6 at 3:17 PM – Stop & Shop (155 Harvard St.)

Officers were dispatched for a fight in the Stop & Shop parking lot involving 3 females. The victim stated that she was sitting on the bench outside the main entrance when she heard a car behind her sounding its horn. She turned to yell to the person to take it easy, when the driver yelled back. The verbal exchange continued until one of the passengers exited the vehicle and took a swing at her striking her in the back. A second younger passenger exited the vehicle and joined the first and hit the victim in the face. The two females then got back into the vehicle and left the parking lot.

A cell phone was found lying along side the walkway near the bench where the dispute took place. The phone rang a short time later which the officer answered, and told the caller she could come to Stop & Shop to retrieve her phone. When she arrived, the victim identified her as one of the suspects. She will be summonsed into court for Assault & Battery.

Media Release: B&E Suspect Arrested

At 9:10 AM today, Brookline Police Dispatch received a call for suspicious activity near 29 Harvard Ave. The caller described a black male, 20-30s, with a mustache, wearing a black hooded jacket and sweatpants. As the officer arrived the subject fled and jumped a fence towards Harvard St. A foot pursuit ensued in the area. The subject was carrying a backpack and a large white bag, both of which he dropped when he fled.

The subject was seen running into the garage under the Town Hall. Police established a perimeter and approximately 10:00 AM the suspect was located in the garage.

During the event Pierce School staff was notified and officers responded to the school to keep the staff informed. The school was not in a lock down, and classes continued as scheduled.

Officers discovered jewelry, watches, and assorted luxury goods in his backpack, an iPad, and laptops. Some of the items are believed to be from a housebreak at 471 Washington St
At 9:45 AM, Dispatch received a call for a Breaking & Entering at 33 Aspinwall Ave. A black male had attempted to enter an apartment, but ran away when he noticed the resident was home. It was confirmed that the suspect was one in the same.

At this point in the investigation the suspect has been charged with two counts of Breaking and Entering in the day time, and Possession of Burglarious tools.

The suspect, Allen Bolden, age 29, DOB 3/9/1982 444 Harrison Ave Boston Mass. will be arraigned in Brookline District Court.

12/2-12/6

B&E of MV:

Occurred on 12/5 at 11:59 PM – Pearl St.

Officers responded to a report of breaking and entering of an MV. The reporting party stated that he was parking his vehicle in the rear parking lot when he observed a Hispanic male, approximately 5'05" tall, wearing jeans, a white t-shirt, and a red baseball cap walking next to some of the vehicles parked in the lot. He observed him walk up to a vehicle and stand around the passenger area for a few minutes. He was unsure of what the individual was doing so he got out and approached him and asked him what he was doing there. The individual was holding an extended coat hanger. The individual then walked away from the area casually towards Pearl St. and the MBTA Green line station.

Officers checked the surrounding area for the suspect but could not locate him. Nothing was reported stolen, and no other vehicles were reported broken into.

Burglary:

Occurred on 12/6 at 1:40 PM – Bonad Rd.

The victim came home and walked into her house, and heard some noises coming from the second floor. She believed that her husband was home so she called out his name, then went back outside to get to get her son from her vehicle. At this time she heard a loud noise and looked up to her second floor bedroom and noticed a window screen being "kicked out" and a subject climbing out the window. This subject stepped out onto a small roof and jumped landing in the front yard, he then ran to the driveway and got onto a large green mountain bike and fled down Bonad Rd to the VFW Parkway. After the subject had landed he dropped several pieces of jewelry onto the front yard.

The subject was described as a W/M, 20yrs, unshaven, 5-9 to 5-10, stocky build, wearing blue jeans, black t-shirt (long sleeve) and a black hat.

Larceny:

Occurred on 12/5 between 5:30 & 5:45 PM – Washington St.

The victim reports that she left her stroller outside on the sidewalk for about fifteen minutes. Her wallet was inside of the baby stroller, in a pocket along the top handle, and when she returned, it was missing.

Occurred on 12/3 at 6:40 PM – Trader Joe’s (1319 Beacon St.)

A larceny victim came to the station to report that she lost her wallet while shopping. She placed the wallet in her shopping cart, and when she went to pay for her groceries, she could not find it. A search of the store did not turn it up.

Malicious Damage:

Occurred on 12/3 between 4:55 PM & 5:20 PM – 1288 Beacon St.

Officers were dispatched for a report of malicious damage. The victim stated she was looking for a parking spot, and saw a vehicle exiting, so waited behind it. As the vehicle was backing out of the spot she beeped because it was getting close to her vehicle. The vehicle continued backing up and she beeped again. The vehicle then pulled back into the spot. There was another parking spot right next to that vehicle so the victim parked her car there. She waited a few moments before she exited her vehicle. When she got out of her vehicle she observed the operator of the other vehicle standing behind his own vehicle. He began staring at her and switching his eyes from her to her vehicle. This struck her as odd so she made note of his license plate.

When she returned to her vehicle at approximately 5:20PM she noticed that the driver's side front door to her vehicle had a large scratch horizontally, approximately 18 inches in length. She walked around her vehicle to check for more damage and noticed another vertical scratch on the trunk approximately 6 inches in length. She suspects that the person she was beeping at is the person that scratched her car due to his odd behavior.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5'8", in his mid 30's, thin to medium build, wearing a black parka and dark skully cap. He was clean shaven and did not have glasses on.

B&E&L:

Occurred between 6:15 PM & 2:39 AM – Russett Rd.

Officers responded for a B&E&L report. The victims report parking their vehicle on the street at 6:15 PM, and waking up to move into their driveway at 2:39 AM. It was then that they discovered that the driver’s window was smashed. A GPS was taken. No other vehicles in the area appeared to have been broken into.

OUIL:

Occurred on 12/3 at 12:44 AM – Mountfort St./Carlton St.

Officer M. Lee, was dispatched to the area to assist Boston University Police with a Traffic Crash. The BU officer stated that he was facing Northbound, stopped at the intersection of Carlton St/Mountfort St, when he observed a motor vehicle to his right (on Mountfort St) appearing to be having engine problems, as the headlights were repeatedly turning completely on and off. As he came into full visual range of the front of the vehicle, he observed severe front end damage and the driver’s side airbag had been deployed. The officer approached the vehicle and asked the occupant to identify himself.

After further investigation, he was placed under arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor.

Receiving Stolen Property:

Occurred on 12/2 – Brimmer & May School (Newton)

A Newton Police detective contacted the Brookline Police Department requesting assistance in a larceny investigation which their department was conducting. There had been a report of a larceny of a camera from the Brimmer & May School. The student checked Craigslist.com to see if anyone had posted it for sale, and she found an advertisement matching her camera. She created a fake email address and planned to meet the seller at the Brookline Hills train station. The Newton detective, as well as Brookline Police Detective McDonnell and Det. Lt. Lipson, would be there as well for surveillance.

At approximately 7:30pm, an asian male, about high school aged, walking from Cypress St. down Tappan St. towards the train station. The victim informed the detectives that she knew this person, as a student who also attended Brimmer & May.

He was approached and advised of the ongoing investigation. He immediately became nervous and evasive, making attempts to leave. The camera was discovered in his backpack. He was advised of his Miranda Warnings and was placed under arrest for Receiving Stolen Property Over $250.

MV Crash:

Occurred on 12/4 at 11:55 AM – Chestnut Hill Ave.

An officer was flagged down by a taxi driver who had just been in a crash. He stated that he was traveling south on Chestnut Hill Ave when he was hit on the passenger side of his taxi. The driver of the other vehicle was cited for not being duly licensed and will be summonsed into court.

Occurred on 12/4 at 2:57 AM – Reservoir Rd./Middlesex Rd.

Officers were dispatched to for a traffic crash involving a single car. The driver stated that he was traveling on Reservoir Rd towards Middlesex Rd, and because he was unfamiliar with the area, noticed at the last minute that Reservoir Rd ended and he needed to make a left turn onto Middlesex Rd. The vehicle went up onto the sidewalk that leads to a pedestrian bridge over the train tracks. The vehicle sustained major front end damage.

Occurred on 12/3 at 11:30 PM – 1101 Beacon St.

Officers were dispatched for a traffic crash to help exchange papers. MV #1's operator stated he was stopped at the red light travelling east on Beacon Street and Hawes Street. Vehicle #2 stated he was travelling east on Beacon Street and the light was green. Vehicle #2 rear-ended Vehicle #1.

Both vehicles did not require any tow and were released to the owners.

Occurred on 12/3 at 9:05 PM – Beverly Rd./Grove St.

Officers were dispatched to for a two car crash. The operator of MV #1 stated that he was traveling southbound on Grove Street, entered the intersection at Russett Road on a green light, and was stopped and waiting for a break in traffic coming from the opposite direction so that he could make the left turn onto Russett Road. The light turned red and he proceeded to make the left turn towards Russett Road when a vehicle (MV#2) traveling in the opposite direction, northbound on Independence Drive, went through the red light and proceeded through the intersection. That vehicle struck MV #1. The driver of MV #2 claimed that he had the green light. No citations were issued.

Occurred on 12/2 at 3:27 PM – Heath St./Glenland Rd.

Officers responded for a motor vehicle accident. The caller stated that a vehicle had just struck a utility pole opposite his home. The pole had caused damage to the siding of his home.

The driver denied speeding or being distracted in any way.

Pedestrian Accident:

Occurred on 12/2 at 1:52 PM – Beacon/Short St.

Officers responded to a call for a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. The victim was bleeding from a head wound and was transported to the hospital. The driver was cited for driving on the sidewalk. A request for Immediate Threat-License Seizure was filed with the RMV, and his license and keys were seized.

Burglary:

Handsome Cleaners (1695 Beacon St.)

The owners of the Handsome Cleaners reported the larceny of the quarters deposited into their laundry machines on 11/27. Since then, they had tried to empty the machines twice more, and discovered both times that all the coins were gone. Detectives Crapo and O’Kane installed a surveillance camera in the laundromat on 12/1.

After viewing the footage they observed a white male, in his 20's, enter at approximately 8:10 PM and remain until approximately 8:55 PM. The male is seen wearing dark/baggy clothing, including a Jack Daniels shirt, and carrying a backpack at times, and during the above time frame using some sort of tool to maneuver into the coin trays of the machines and empty the contents out. Prints were also lifted from the machines, and a match came back to someone who had been arrested in Boston.

On 12/4/11, while conducting surveillance of 1695 Beacon St., at approximately 9:49 PM, Detective McDonnell observed an outbound green line train stop at Beacon St. and Tappan St. A white male dressed in dark/baggy clothing and carrying a backpack got off of the train and crossed over towards 1695 Beacon St. McDonnell was able to clearly view the individual’s face and discovered it matched the suspect’s face from the video. The suspect went inside of the Laundromat, which was not occupied by other patrons (although 1 patron's laundry was still in a dryer), used a tool, and attempted to gain entry to several machines. He remained in the laundromat for approximately 10 minutes.

Upon his exit, he made way across Beacon St. and tried boarding an outbound green line train. McDonnell called the name of the suspect aloud, and he turned around. He was placed under arrest, and is being charged with 16 counts of B&E w/Intent to Commit a Felony (Breaking Depository - for the 16 machines which were entered), Larceny from a Building, and Possession of Burglarious Tools, and 2 counts of B&E w/Intent to Commit a Felony (Breaking Depository), Larceny from a Building, and Possession of Burglarious Tools.

Disorderly Person:

Occurred on 12/2 at 2:15 AM – Beacon St./Centre St.

Officer R. M. Collins was travelling west on Beacon St and observed a taxi cab stopped in a lane of traffic at the intersection of Beacon St near Centre St. He observed the two rear doors to this cab fling open quickly into on-coming traffic and two subjects began running east on Beacon St in the roadway through the vehicular traffic. The cab driver was observed jumping out of his cab and yelling at these subjects, waving his hands up and down.

Collins then drove around the block, and observed these same subjects hiding in the rear alleyway behind 1336 Beacon St. A foot pursuit began, and Officers Brothers, Richards and Vragovic also gave chase. The suspects were apprehended and placed into custody for their behavior and for the danger they caused by running in and out of the roadway

After speaking to the cab driver, it was discovered that the two had not paid their fare.

They were charged with disorderly conduct, and additionally charged with Resisting Arrest and Evading a Taxi Fare.

12/1-12/2

MV/Bicycle Crash:

Occurred on 12/1 at 5 PM – Aspinwall Ave.

Officers responded to the area for a report of a bicyclist who drove into a taxi door. The passenger went to open the back door, after checking out the rear window, and as he opened the door a bicyclist drove by and collided with the door. She suffered a hand injury. The cab driver reported having his signal on and was pulled over to the right to let his passenger out.

Weapons Violation:

Occurred on 12/1 – Brook House

Officers responded for a report of an unattended firearm which had been left inside a vehicle. The security manager at the Brook House requested that a vehicle be towed from the private parking garage due to a parking violation. Upon the tow company arriving, they discovered a loaded handgun in the rear passenger area. The registered owner of the vehicle did possess a Class A- License to Carry a Firearm license, and the handgun did belong to him. However, the weapon was confiscated and his license to carry suspended

He is being charged criminally with Possession of a Loaded Firearm in a Vehicle. A follow-up investigation is being conducted.

B&E&L of MV:

Occurred between 11/28 and 11/29 – Baker Circle

Officers responded to investigate two motor vehicle breaking and enterings. Both were unlocked at the time of the theft. There was no evidence of forced entry into the vehicle. Sunglasses and loose change were reported missing.

Occurred between 11/29 and 11/30 – Summit Ave.

The victim reported that someone tried to gain entry into her vehicle while it was parked overnight in her driveway. The driver's side door had damage to the top part of the door frame, so it appeared that the suspect attempted to pry open the door. Entry was not gained and nothing was reported missing.

11/30-12/1

Pedestrian Accident:

Occurred on 11/30 at 7:30 PM – Essex St./Mountfort St.

Officers responded for a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. She was transported to the hospital for a leg injury.

The driver’s license was active but her vehicle registration was expired/nonrenewable, so the vehicle was towed and she was issued a citation for Operating an Unregistered MV.

Fraud:

An officer responded to conduct a well-being check on an elderly woman who was neglecting to answer her phone. Upon arrival, she was found to be in good health, but informed the officer she had not been answering her phone because she had been the victim of a scam 2 weeks earlier. She had received a phone call from someone claiming she had won a large amount of money, and they subsequently sent her a check that was supposed to be the initial payment. She then discovered her bank account had been cleaned out. The investigation is ongoing.

11/29-11/30

Malicious Damage:

Occurred Overnight, 11/29-11/30 – Salisbury Rd.

Officers responded to a call for malicious damage to a motor vehicle. The victim stated that his vehicle’s rear window had been smashed overnight. There were no signs of entry and nothing reported stolen. A check of the surrounding area did not reveal any additional damage to any property.

Larceny:

Occurred on 11/29 at 10:16 AM – Movieworks (1658 Beacon St.)

Officers responded to a reported shoplifting. The suspect was described as a light skinned black male, in his early twenties, approximately 6'02" tall with a thin frame. The suspect did not have any facial hair and had a close cropped hair cut (half inch), and was wearing dark blue jeans and a loose black winter coat. He was also carrying a plastic shopping bag with him.

The suspect went to the rear of the store and had taken a number of items on the Blu Ray rack at which point the employee went to confront him. As the suspect then headed towards the front door to exit, he grabbed at least three DVD's from the front of the store.

The suspect has been in the store on at least two prior occasions.

11/23-11/28

Armed Robbery:

Occurred on 11/28 at 8:15 PM – Buswell St. (Boston)

Brookline Dispatch broadcast a message to respond to St. Mary’s St. Boston University Police received a report for a robbery that had occurred on Buswell St. The victim stated he arrived home at 8:15 PM and was attempting to unlock his front door when a guy came up behind him and punched him in the back of his head. The victim turned around and noticed a can of pepper spray being held in his face. He shoved the pepper spray out of his face and when he did, the suspect proceeded to punch him in the face several times. Another suspect then entered the lobby and took his belongings, while a third was also present. The 3 fled southbound on St. Mary’s St. towards Beacon St. The three suspects were described as follows:

Officers Gustie, Tam, O'Neill, Kajita, Detective McDonnell Sergeant Ferris responded to the area to search for the suspects. BUPD officers located three subjects matching the descriptions on Amory St. They were arrested and charged with the crime of Armed Robbery. One of the suspects is additionally being charged with Unlawful Possession of Mace/OC, because he was unable to produce a valid FID card which would allow him to carry the OC Spray.

While the suspect was being transported back to the station, Kajita and Tam canvassed the area in an attempt to possibly locate the victim's property. A backpack was located in Amory Park, containing a sweatshirt and an iPod. The victim confirmed the iPod was his.

MV Crash:

Occurred on 11/28 at 6:35 PM – Coolidge Corner

An officer on patrol in Coolidge Corner observed a hit and run motor vehicle crash. Vehicle #1 was rear ended by Vehicle #2, which then proceeded southbound on Harvard Street without stopping. Officers were able to locate the fleeing vehicle and pulled it over right before Washington St.

The driver of the hit vehicle had an expired license and was issued a citation. The driver of the fleeing vehicle was cited with Leaving the Scene of an Accident/Property Damage and Failure to Stop for a Police Officer.

Occurred on 11/26 at 1:09 PM – Boylston St./Philbrick Rd.

Officers were dispatched for the report of a three car vehicle crash. According to the operator of Vehicle #3, he was traveling on Boylston Street when he rear ended Vehicle #2. The impact pushed Vehicle #2, into Vehicle #1. One operator was transported to the Brigham and Woman's Hospital for injuries.

Shoplifting:

Occurred on 11/27 at 2:38 PM – Star Marker (1717 Beacon St.)

Officers were dispatched to Star Market for a past shoplifting incident. The assistant store manager stated that there were two suspects that were using the "Self Checkout" machine to pay for their groceries. 15 minutes after the suspects left, Star Market staff discovered the "Self Checkout" machine they used still had the screen asking the customer for payment. Based on that information, the customers that used that machine never paid for their groceries. Surveillance video revealed the two suspects scanning all their items and then using a card to swipe on the credit card machine.

The suspects on the video consisted of a white male and white female. Both suspects appeared to be in their early 20's. The male suspect had black hair, and was wearing a gray sweatshirt and jeans. The female suspect had blonde hair, and was wearing a white tank top inside a gray sweatshirt, and jeans.

Star Market is attempting to identify the card user.

Occurred on 11/26 at 4:41 PM – The Gap (306 Harvard St.)

Officers responded to The Gap for a report of shoplifting. A Loss Prevention employee stated that he observed two females enter the store from the rear entrance, which he recognized as shoplifting in there previously. These two subjects went to the kid's section of the store. Suspect #1 distracted employees by asking help in finding certain items, while Suspect #2 proceeded to grab a number of clothing items. Suspect #2 then met up with Suspect #1 and placed the items into her bag. The two then attempted to leave the store, when the employee confronted them and asked them to remain in the store. Suspect #1 seemed to be compliant and pulled out five items that had been taken from the store. Suspect #2 grabbed the items from Suspect #1, handed the items back to the employee, and stated she would not be going anywhere with him. They both then left the store with five other items. They traveled west on Beacon St.

Suspect #1 is described as a black female, 5'9, 130lbs, with long straight black hair, and two "dot" tattoos under her left eye. She was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, grey jeans. She was carrying a large pink H&M bag and a grey purse.

Suspect #2 is described as a black female, 5'5, 120lbs, with long straight black hair, with angel wings tattoo on lower back. She was wearing a black jacket, orange t-shirt with white lettering, blue jeans, and brown boots. She was carrying a pink Victoria's Secret bag.

Several officers responded and searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.

The employee stated the Suspect #2 comes in frequently to shoplift, often times with others, and he believes that the group has stolen from other Gap stores in Copley Square, Faneuil Hall, Wellesley, and Chestnut Hill.

Occurred on 11/25 at 12:24 PM – CVS (730 Commonwealth Ave.)

The store manager reported that she observed a white male stealing items off the shelves in aisle 2 and then placing them into a backpack. The area where the suspect was stealing is mostly non-prescription cold medicine. As the suspect began to exit the store, the manager confronted the man at the front door. She noticed he had a small San Disk in his hand which she demanded back from the suspect, who complied with her request, and then left the store.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20's, 6 feet tall, close-cropped blond hair wearing a black puffy jacket, Gray T-shirt underneath, grayish jeans, sneakers and had a black backpack. He could not be located.

Malicious Damage:

Occurred on 11/27 at 11:40 AM – 1853 Beacon St.

Officers were dispatched to the rear of 1853 Beacon St. for a malicious damage report. The victims rent 3 parking spaces from the Chinese Christian Church, and recently they have noticed a pattern of nails puncturing their rear tires. The previous incidents were not reported, but occurred in November 2010, and July and twice in November of 2011.

The parking lot does not have any locking gates. The church does not have any surveillance cameras.

Occurred on 11/27 between 6:30-11:30 PM– Browne St.

Officers responded for a malicious damage report. The victim reported that while he and his wife were out, someone had sliced the child seat restraint straps on their stroller which they left in the lobby. He stated that a similar incident had occurred approximately 2-3 weeks previously, but they did not report it to the police. They left at 6:30 PM, and only one strap was cut from the previous incident. Upon returning at 11:30 PM, the second strap was discovered to be cut.

Occurred Overnight, 11/22 -11/23 – (1100 Beacon St.)

Officers were dispatched for a report of a hit and run crash. The victim stated her vehicle was stuck while parked in the rear of 1100 Beacon Street sometime overnight. There was a moderate size dent to the driver's side of the car, but no heavy scratches left on the vehicle or paint. It appeared to be damage from another vehicle that was attempting to park near her vehicle. The victim was advised to contact her insurance company.

Occurred on 11/23 – Brookline Ave.

The victim reported parking his vehicle at 6:30 AM and feeding the meter at 9 AM. He returned at 12 Noon to discover the passenger side mirror was damaged and the passenger side rear tire was slashed.

Larceny from Auto:

Occurred on 11/26 between 1:20-1:30 PM – 888 Commonwealth Ave.

Officers were dispatched for a B&E and Larceny from a motor vehicle. The victim works as a contractor and stated that his two vehicles were broken into and items were taken. He said that at approximately 1:20 PM, one of his workers went to retrieve something from one of the vehicles, and neither vehicle had been broken into at this time. Approximately 5-10 minutes had passed when the victim returned to this vehicle and noticed that the driver's side window of his van had been smashed and the GPS that was attached to the windshield was missing. A briefcase containing personal papers and his check book was gone, as well as some cash.

The GPS from the other vehicle was also gone, as were the owner’s manual and vehicle registration.

Larceny:

Occurred on 6:14 PM – Beaconsfield Rd.

Officers responded to take a larceny report. The victim stated that she had a package delivered by UPS and that it was stolen from her doorway. According to the tracking of the package, it was delivered at 3:38 PM, and it did not require a signature, so it was left in the doorway. The package contained a video camera.

Occurred between 11/17-11/25 – 1695 Beacon St.

Officers responded to a Laundromat to take a larceny report. On November 25^th, the owners attempted to retrieve quarters from some machines, but discovered none of the machines had quarters in them. They should have been full because they had seen people using the machines since they last time they collected the coins on November 17^th.

On November 28^th, the owners again attempted to collect the coins from the same machines, and again discovered that they were empty, when they should’ve been full from use over the weekend.

The family suspects someone has a copy of the master key for the coin box, because there were no signs of forced entry or damage to the machines. Machines with a different key for their coin box were not tampered with.

Occurred on 11/27 at 12:25 AM – Columbia St.

Officers were dispatched to Columbia St. for a larceny report. Victim #1 explained he had returned home from an evening out at approximately 12 AM. When he came home one roommate (Victim #2) was studying in the kitchen. Another roommate (Victim #3) was asleep in his room. Victim #1 put his 2 cell phones on the living room table and went up to bed. Approximately 20 minutes later, Victim #2 went up to his room, and returned downstairs at approximately 4 AM to discover his laptop was missing from the kitchen. He texted Victim #1 to ask if he took it while he was upstairs, and he said he did not. Victim #1 then came downstairs and discovered that the two cell phones he had left on the table before going upstairs were also missing. They also noticed that Victim #3’s piano keyboard was missing from its stand. Several more items were discovered missing, and one of the victims reported his house keys had been missing for awhile.

There were no signs of a forced entry and they believe all doors to the apartment were locked.

Occurred on 11/26 – J.P. Licks (311 Harvard St.) & T.J. Maxx (525 Harvard St.)

A larceny victim came into the police station to report that her bag was taken from the back of her chair while she was seated at J.P. Licks. She didn't realize her bag was missing until she was leaving. It contained cash, credit cards, and cell phones.

It was later discovered that the victim's credit cards were found in possession of 2 suspects arrested for a similar crime at T.J. Maxx (525 Harvard St.)

At 2:25 PM Dispatch received a call for units to respond to the area of 525 Harvard St., T.J. MAXX, for a larceny from a person. The victim of the pick pocketing called and gave the description of the vehicle the suspect fled in.

Boston University Officers were in the area of Park Drive and Buswell St. and were monitoring the broadcast of the description when the vehicle passed by them. They stopped the vehicle on The Fenway, with a male driver and a female passenger inside. The driver was discovered to have an expired non renewable operator's license. The operator and passenger were asked to exit the vehicle, and a pat frisk was conducted due to the vehicle matching the description of the vehicle in the robbery. Credit cards belonging to the victim of the larceny at JP Licks were discovered.

A show-up identification was conducted with the victim of the T.J. Maxx pick pocketing, and the male was positively identified. He was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle without a license, larceny from a person, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy. The female passenger was also arrested for larceny from a person, receiving stolen property, conspiracy, and possession of stolen credit cards.

Several more cards found to be belonging to the JP Licks’ victim were discovered in the vehicle under the driver’s seat.

Occurred on 11/23 – Panera Bread (888 Commonwealth Ave.)

An individual came to the police station to report she was the victim of a larceny. She state she was sitting at Panera Bread having lunch with her friends, and she placed her purse down by her side. When she was done with her meal, she noticed her purse had been stolen. During the meal, one of her friends noticed a black male with short hair and a birthmark on his cheek standing behind the victim.

The victim was in the process of canceling her credit cards, when she was notified that one of them was used at a CVS store.

Occurred between 11/20-11/22 –Kent St.

Officers responded to a radio call for a larceny report. The victims stated a purse was stolen from inside their room sometimes between Sunday and Tuesday mornings. Several important documents were inside the purse.

The only entry points to this room were through the front door and through the window. There was no damage to either of those locations.

The manager stated she spoke with her staff and nobody was inside this room during that period. There have been no other reports by residents of anything stolen from their rooms. There were surveillance cameras in the common areas of the building but not in front of this specific door.
