October 5th-6th Police Reports

Assault

  • Occurred between 3:38PM (10/6) and 3:47PM (10/6) – 850 Boylston St.

Police responded to a local apartment building for report of two male subjects that were involved in an altercation. Both parties were questioned and each stated they were assaulted. Both individuals will be summonsed to court for assault and battery.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 2:23PM (10/5) and 2:25PM (10/5) – 1329 Beacon St.

Manager of a local cell phone store contacted police once he was informed that an employee phone was stolen from a desk at the rear of the store. The suspect is said to be well known to all the employees as a regular. Suspect was described as a white female, wearing a black shirt, tan pants, and white sneakers. The video surveillance footage was reviewed to confirm the description given to the police. Detectives will be following up on the case.

Not Duly Licensed

  • Occurred 9:58AM (10/6) – 278 Harvard St.

Suspect was stopped by police for not having an inspection sticker on his vehicle. Suspect was asked for his license and registration. Suspect stated that he didn’t have a license. Suspect was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle without a license. While conducting a search incident to the arrest, police found a small plastic bag in the suspect’s pocket believed to contain marijuana. Suspect was cited for illegal possession of marijuana

  • Occurred between 10:09PM (10/6) and 10:30PM (10/6) – 102 Cypress St.

Police stopped a suspect for speeding on his scooter, as well as running through a stop sign in the process. Operator was asked for his license and registration. Operator stated that he didn’t have a license for the scooter. Operator was issued a citation for speeding, unlicensed operation, and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Operating after Suspension

  • Occurred 2:44PM (10/5) – 620 Washington St.

Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense. A license check revealed the operator had a suspended license. The operator was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred 11:15AM (10/6) – 1912 Beacon St.

Suspect was stopped by police for driving with an expired inspection sticker. Suspect was asked for her license and registration. Suspect’s license check came back as suspended. Suspect was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle after license suspension.

Revoked Registration

  • Occurred 2:47PM (10/6) – Newton St/W Rox Pk

Suspect was stopped by police for not displaying a second license plate. A check of the suspect’s registration came back as having been revoked. Operator was issued a citation for the revoked registration and not displaying a second plate. The vehicle was towed.

Warrant Default

  • Occurred 11:51AM (10/6) – 227 Babcock St.

Police were contacted by a local hospital in regards to the employees holding a patient who was known to have an outstanding default warrant. Once on scene police were able to confirm that warrant. Suspect was taken into custody.

Breaking and Entering of Motor Vehicle

  • Occurred between 1:54PM (9/22) and 4:00PM (9/23) – Cottage St.

Victim reported that she had found her car to have been damaged on the front passenger side door of her vehicle. Police observed visible marks between the front and rear door jams on the passenger side of the vehicle. There was also a dent on the jam. Victim stated that the vehicle had been properly secured with an alarm system. There were no visible items of values in the vehicle and the suspect had been unsuccessful in gaining entry. Victim was advised to contact her insurance company.

Burglary

  • Occurred 11:49PM (10/2) – 341 St Paul St.

Police were contacted by subject to a local apartment complex after the caller heard suspicious activity. Subject reported having heard noises from the apartment that had been abandoned for over a year. Police checked the apartment and found that the rear door had been forced open. An employee of the housing authority was contacted. Police are following up on the case.

Disturbing Peace

  • Occurred 3:05AM (10/3) – 132 Columbia St.

Police responded to a call of a noise complaint. Police advised the subject of the complaint. Police reported to suspect’s home for the second time on a loud party complaint. Police filed a criminal application and have requested a hearing for the charge of Disturbing the Peace.

Fraud

  • Occurred between 1:00PM (9/25) and 9:40PM (10/1) – 27 Egmont St.

Victim reported that he had attempted to buy an item online from the owner. Victim stated that the process of making the purchase involved a Western Union transaction in which he sent out funds to the individual. Victim states that the item didn’t arrive on the day it should have. Police attempted to contact the suspect. Police contacted UPS for possible leads.

  • Occurred 10:36AM (9/16) – 320 Washington St.

Victim reported that he was misled by an internet site that he was trying to order products from. Victim states that he was involved in a wire transaction that raised suspicion when he was asked to send additional money then what was originally required. Victim contacted the web host and was advised to report the problem. Police will be following up on the case.

Larceny

  • Occurred 12:07PM (10/1) – 115 Greenough St.

Victim reported that her cell phone was stolen from her purse. Victim stated that she had been with a student during the time of the theft. Victim believes that the student could have stolen the phone. Suspect was questioned and he stated that he didn’t steal the phone. A check of the phone records had been made and one of the numbers that had been called linked the suspect to the theft. Suspect was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred 11:09AM (9/7) – 227 Cypress St.

Victim reported that a customer had given him a series of checks for food items on several occasions. Victim stated that none of the checks were valid. Suspect had informed victim that he was aware of the insufficient funds in his account and would make restitution. Police contacted suspect and questioned him in regards to the problem. Suspect was advised that a criminal complaint will be filed against him on several counts of larceny.

  • Occurred between 4:00PM (10/3) and 6:00PM (10/3) – 1299 Beacon St.

Victim reported that her jacket was stolen from a chair it had been draped over. Victim stated that she hadn’t seen any possible suspects. Police questioned victim’s co-worker who hadn’t seen any suspicious individuals in the store. Police will be following up on the case.

Possession of Marijuana

  • Occurred 2:55PM (10/2) – 115 Greenough St.

A local school teacher contacted police after having found two students in possession of marijuana. Police questioned both students who admitted to having been in possession of the substance. Police advised both individuals that they will each be receiving a violation notice for possession of marijuana. Both individuals were further advised of having to attend drug and alcohol counseling.

Traffic Offense

  • Occurred 10:06PM (10/4) – 2 Acron Rd.

Police responded to a call for a motor vehicle that had been blocking a driveway. Police checked on the registration plate and found it to have been revoked due to lack of insurance. The vehicle was towed. Police requested a hearing on the matter and issued a citation to the owner for permitting an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle to remain on a public way.

Burglary

  • Occurred 10:00AM (9/29) – Beacon St.

Victim reported that someone had stolen his gold chain from his desk drawer. Victim states that he suspects his neighbor could have taken the chain. Police will be following up on the case.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 1:00PM (9/29) and 3:00PM (9/29) – Pleasant St/Freeman St

Victim reported that someone had stolen pills from his lunch box. Victim had placed the box in a temporary storage unit. There were no possible suspects at this time. Detectives will be following up on the case.

  • Occurred 12:00PM (9/25) – Harvard St.

Victim reported that her wallet was stolen from the trunk compartment of her motor scooter. Victim stated that she was at a coffee shop at the time. Victim was advised to cancel her credit cards.

  • Occurred between 12:00PM (9/28) and 3:00PM (9/30) – Boylston St.

Victim reported that her bike was stolen from the rear of her house. Victim stated that she searched for the bike and asked her roommates if they had used the bike. The bike is a turquoise colored mongoose mountain bike with a “U shaped” lock.

  • Occurred between 1:21AM (9/30) and 3:00AM (9/30) – 294 Harvard St.

Victim reported that someone had stolen her wallet from her purse while she was out running errands with her daughter. Victim stated that the purse was hanging off her daughter’s stroller. Victim is in process of canceling her credit/debit card.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 1:30PM (9/28) and 1:30PM (9/29) – 27 Francis St.

A principal of a local school contacted police in regards to having found four areas of the school that had been recently tagged with graffiti. Victim stated he is unsure of when the graffiti could have occurred. Photos were taken for evidence.

Revoked Registration

  • Occurred 5:30PM (9/30) – Longwood Av/Harvard St.

Subject was stopped by police after having failed at yielding for pedestrians who were actively crossing the street. Suspect was asked for his license and registration. A registration check came back as revoked. Police took the license plates and placed them into evidence. Suspect’s vehicle was sub sequentially towed.

Threat

  • Occurred between 6:00PM (9/29) and 7:00PM (9/29) – Ogden Rd.

Victim reported having received a threatening a voicemail from a former tenant. Police attempted to contact the suspect. Police left a message for the suspect in regards to how she will be summonsed to court for threats.

Accident of Motor Vehicle

  • Occurred 3:59PM (9/29) – 1634 Beacon St.

Victim called police in regards to having been involved in a accident. Victim stated that the individual fled the scene after having struck her vehicle and caused damage from the midpoint of the passenger’s side to the rear quarter panel. A witness of the incident was able to provide the registration number. Police were able to locate the offending owner and issued a citation marked “Criminal Application.”

Assault

  • Occurred 1:06AM (9/26) – 170 Winchester St.

Police responded to a call of an altercation between five males. The caller stated that three males had been seen assaulting another individual. The caller was able to provide police with the license plate of the vehicle in which the three suspects had left after physically assaulting the victim. Police were able to locate the suspects and question them in regards to the incident. All three suspects were placed under arrest. Each of the suspects were charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. A fourth person was in possession of a stick that had been used to assault one of the suspects during the altercation. That subject will be summonsed to court and charged with assault.

  • Occurred 11:18PM (9/26) – 1407 Beacon St.

Police responded to a call of a dispute between two individuals that had become physical. Police were able to question both parties. Victim was taken to the hospital. Subject was placed under arrest for assault and battery.

  • Occurred 1:03PM (9/29) – Beacon St/Harvard St.

Police responded to a local supermarket for a fight involving two young males. Victim stated that suspect had struck him after accusing him of having stolen his bike. Victim stated that he had bought the bike off an unknown individual in his neighborhood. Suspect will be summonsed to court for assault and battery. The bike in question was confiscated and placed into storage for safekeeping.

Breaking and Entering of Motor Vehicle

  • Occurred between 6:15PM (9/24) and 8:15PM (9/24) – Harvard St.

Victim reported having found her passengers side window of her vehicle having been pushed down. Victim noticed that her radio had been tampered with. Victim stated she is unable to roll up her window.

  • Occurred between 7:00PM (9/26) and 7:00AM (9/27) – 85 Egmont St.

Victim reported that someone had broken into her vehicle and stolen her GPS unit. Victims found that front passenger side window of her car smashed. Victim stated that nothing else had been missing from the vehicle.

  • Occurred between 10:00PM (9/26) and 9:58AM (9/27) – Boylston St.

Victim reported that someone had broken into her vehicle by having smashed the passenger side window with a rock. Victim stated that the items that were stolen were an IPod and a DVD set of headphones. Victim was advised to contact her insurance company.

  • Occurred between 9:00PM (9/28) and 7:40AM (9/29) – Cypress St.

Victim reported that his vehicle had been broken into through the suspect having smashed the right front window. Victim stated that his GPS and a DVD FM radio were the only items taken. Detectives will be processing the vehicle for prints.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 1:00PM (9/24) and 11:30PM (9/24) – Beacon St.

Victim reported having arrived to her apartment and finding the door left unlocked. Victim stated that once inside she found everything had been left in a state of disarray. Victim reported that nothing had been missing. Police observed that the suspect had gained entry through a rear window and exited through the front door. Pair of glasses was submitted into evidence for the possibility of fingerprints.

  • Occurred between 3:30PM (9/25) and 12:00PM (9/26) – 44 Hammond Pond Pk.

Victim reported that her contractor had pointed out pry marks that were found on the rear door of her home. Detectives will be processing the scene.

  • Occurred between 11:30PM (9/26) and 5:15PM (9/27) – Naples Rd.

Victim reported that his laptop and IPod were stolen. A check of the apartment showed nothing else had been missing. Victim’s roommate stated that a few items were out of place as though moved so that the suspect could gain access to the stolen items. Subject reported having seen a mysterious gold colored mini van that had sped away abruptly when it had been beeped at.

Graffiti

  • Occurred 10:29AM (9/25) – 350 Washington St.

Police were in possession of a search warrant for the residence of a potential suspect involved in numerous graffiti tags. Suspect’s roommates stated that the individual was no longer living at the residence. Based on the results of the search warrant and their findings, police have applied for an arrest warrant for the suspect.

  • Occurred between 9:00PM (9/25) and 7:15AM (9/28) – 64 Westbourne Tr.

A custodian at a local school reported that he found numerous doors and school property to have been defaced with spray paint. Photos were taken of all the marks. A school department employee was able to remove all the graffiti marks.

  • Occurred between 5:00PM (9/26) and 10:40AM (9/28) – 678 Brookline Av.

The manager of a local animal hospital reported graffiti marks found on the rear of the building. Pictures were taken to be submitted into evidence. Police will be following up on the case.

  • Occurred between 2:00PM (9/26) and 6:39PM (9/28) – 5 Davis Av.

Subject reported having come across graffiti marks on the building across his alleyway. Police observed the marks which are consistent with those found on other occasions. Photos of the marks were taken for evidence.

Larceny

  • Occurred 4:27PM (9/22) – 312 Harvard St.

Subject reported that a stroller was stolen from his store. Suspect was described as an older white female, approximately 5’7,” around 145 pounds, gray hair, wore tinted glasses, gray sweater, shorts, and had leather brown sandals. The stroller was green with black. Detectives will be following up on the case.

  • Occurred between 2:30PM (9/25) and 7:30PM (9/25) – 3 Lawrence Rd.

Victim reported that someone had stolen his backpack from a local park. Victim stated he had not seen any suspicious individuals or anyone in possession of the bag.

  • Occurred between 7:30PM (9/26) and 12:24PM (9/27) – Lancaster Tr.

Victim reported that a bag of mulch had been stolen from her front yard. Victim had left three bags overnight and found one of them missing the next day. A report was filed.

  • Occurred 1:33PM (9/27) – Beacon St.

Police were called to a local store where a wanted suspect for a robbery had been seen. Police were able to positively identify the suspect for a previous theft and placed her under arrest. Numerous stolen items were found in her possesion. Suspect will be charged for shoplifting and receiving stolen property.

  • Occurred between 6:00PM (9/28) and 7:54AM (9/29) – 254 Cypress St.

Victim reported having found the drivers side of his vehicle propped open by a plastic milk crate. Victim stated that the driver’s side front wheel and tire had been removed. No other items had been removed from the vehicle. Victim was advised to contact his insurance company.

  • Occurred between 9:30PM (9/28) and 6:30AM (9/29) – 39 Lancaster Tr.

Victim reported having found his vehicle placed onto a milk crate to keep the vehicle from resting on the ground. Victim stated that he is unable to locate the vehicles lug nuts. Police found the lug nuts in a damp portion of the grass. A maintenance worker approached police to state that he found the victim’s car missing its right front tire/rim. Victim was advised to contact his insurance company.

  • Occurred 12:00PM (9/29) – 4 Brookline Pl.

Victim reported that someone had stolen her bag that contained her camera. Victim hadn’t seen any suspicious individuals. Detectives will be following up on the case for a possible resale of the camera.

  • Occurred between 10:00PM (9/26) and 2:00AM (9/27) – Kent St.

Victim stated that her laptop and cell phone had been taken from her room during a party that was held at her apartment. Victim was able to identify two possible suspects who happened to be the only ones with a duffel bag. Victim will be providing a list of the guests and their phone numbers.

  • Occurred between 5:00PM (9/29) and 5:45PM (9/29) – 31 Pleasant St.

Victim reported that her wallet was stolen from her bag when she was at the local library. Victim had canceled her credit cards. Victim was advised to cancel all her cards and to contact the credit reporting bureau.

  • Occurred 8:53PM (9/29) – 361 Washington St.

Victim reported that his computer bag was stolen of a bench at the local library. The bag contained a great deal of important documents. Victim had searched the local trash containers hoping the documents may have been thrown away.

  • Occurred between 6:00PM (9/29) and 10:30PM (9/29) – Amory St/Commonwealth St.

Victim stated that his scooter was stolen while it was parked next to a tree. A report was filed. There were no witnesses at the time of the theft.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 10:00PM (9/24) and 11:00AM (9/25) – 12 University Rd

Victim reported that the window pane, of his building, in the vestibule door was found smashed. The damage to the window was consistent with someone hitting the window and spidering as a result.

  • Occurred 3:15PM (9/27) – Babcock St.

Victim reported that someone had broken a stained glass window of his front porch. Victim stated that he has no known enemies. Police observed a metal design that was bent within the window suggesting that strong force had been used. Police searched the surrounding areas for possible suspects. The damage to the window appears more of vandalism then an attempt of a breaking and entering.

  • Occurred between 3:00PM (9/25) and 7:02AM (9/27) – 54 Egmont St.

A local property manager contacted police in regards to having found damage done to a door that had been put in place to seal off a boiler room. Victim stated that the boiler room had a fire recently so the basement was under investigation. The door that had been boarding the room was left locked but had its bolts removed. Victim is unsure of who could have caused the damage.

  • Occurred 9:13PM (9/28) – High St.

Police responded to the scene of a dispute involving a father and son. Police observed a damaged laptop that the son had broke during the heated argument. Subject was placed under arrest for malicious damage of property.

Not Duly Licensed

  • Occurred 6:13PM (9/25) -7 Franklin St.

Police stopped subject for a motor vehicle violation. Subject was asked for his license and registration. Subject stated that he was operating without a license. Subject will be summonsed to court for causing gridlock and operating without a license.

Operating after Suspension

  • Occurred between 2:53AM (9/25) and 3:30AM (9/25) – Beacon St/Centre St

Suspect was stopped for failing to stop for a red signal. Suspect’s license check came back as having been suspended. Police also confirmed a straight warrant that was out on the suspect. Suspect was placed under arrest for the straight warrant and for operating after suspension.

  • Occurred 11:54PM (9/24) – 323 Boylston St.

Subject was stopped during a routine traffic stop for an expired license plate. Subject was given a citation to give to the owner of the vehicle for having allowed operation of a suspended registration. Owner will be summonsed to court for the offense. The license plates were taken off the vehicle and placed into evidence.

  • Occurred 12:39AM (9/25) – 1793 Beacon St.

Subject was stopped for driving without any headlights or tail lights. Subjects license check came back suspended. Subject will be summonsed to court for operating after suspension, operating a vehicle without a license, and operating with no headlights at night.

  • Occurred 5:14PM (9/25) – 283 Harvard St.

Subject was stopped by police after having blocked traffic. Police had observed that the suspect was busy on his cell phone and was driving without a seat belt. Subjects license check came back suspended, along with a revoked registration. Subject was informed of his additional violations and placed under arrest. Subject was issued a citation for operating after suspension, revoked insurance, causing gridlock, impeded operation, and not wearing a seat belt.

  • Occurred 2:51AM (9/27) – 0 Dummer St.

Subject was stopped by police for driving down the wrong way on a local street. Subject’s license check came back as expired. Subject’s right to operate a motor vehicle in MA had been suspended as well. Subjects license was seized and he will be summonsed to court.

Protective Custody

  • Occurred 12:26AM (9/24) – Davis Av/Elm St.

Police observed an individual lying in the middle of the road. Subject had gotten up and started to walk away but returned a short while later to lie on the road once again. Police were able to get subject off the road and question him. Subject stated that he had been at a bar earlier. Police observed that he had alcohol emanating from his breath and slurred speech. Subject was placed under arrest for his intoxication and questionable behavior.

Robbery

  • Occurred between 5:50PM (9/24) and 5:53PM (9/24) – 1 Kent St. at Amden Place

Suspect was placed under arrest for attempting to rob an individual at a bus stop. Suspect is a juvenile. Therefore, suspect’s parents were called to the police station and explained of the actions of their son. Suspect’s parents were advised that their son would be held without bail and sent to a juvenile facility. Suspect will be charged with Unarmed Assault with Intent to Rob.

Threat

  • Occurred 10:17PM (9/27) – St Paul St.

Police were called by the victim who was in fear of her safety. Victim reported that while her daughter’s father was dropping off their child, he had threatened to hurt the victim several times. Suspect will be summonsed to court for the threats.

Traffic Offense

  • Occurred 4:34PM (9/26) – 774 Boylston St.

Subject was stopped for speeding. Subject stated that he didn’t have a license. Subject was placed under arrest and will be cited for operating a motor vehicle without a license and speeding.

  • Occurred 1:10PM (9/28) – 300 Harvard St.

Subject was stopped by police for having been double parked and blocking traffic. Subject was asked for a license and registration but was unable to provide one. Subject was cited for obstructing the free flow of traffic and for not being duly licensed to operate a motor vehicle. The owner of the vehicle was cited for allowing an improper person to operate a motor vehicle. Subject was sub sequentially placed under arrest when the police confirmed that she lied about her identity

Attempted Robbery

· Occurred at 5:45 pm at 25 Harvard St.

Victim reports that as she was walking in the parking lot in the rear of the building she was grabbed by the neck and felt a hand against her back. She states that the subject began to demand money from her at which time she screamed very loudly and turned. She says when she did this the suspect laughed and then ran away. The Victim describes the suspect as a very thing black man, 5”5 wearing a very bright T-shirt, and jeans. He appeared to be about 15 years of age, and may have had either clear braises or a retainer in his mouth.

Attempted Robbery

· Occurred between 5:50 pm and 5:53 pm 1 Kent St at Amden Pl.

Victim reports that as she was walking through the parking lot between Kent St and Station St heading towards the Brookline Village MBTA stop she noticed a subject on the other side of the lot. The subject followed behind her, grabbed her arm, and demanded her to give him all her money. He repeated this a few more times. The victim describes the suspect as a very thin black man, 5”5, wearing a very dark neon orange T-shirt, and dark jeans. His hair was cropped short and appeared to be in his late 20’s.

Breaking and Entering

· Occurred between 6:15 pm and 8:15 pm at 67 Harvard St.

Victim reports that the passenger side window of the vehicle was pushed down and her radio had been tampered with. Nothing was reported stolen

Burglary

  • Occurred between 9:19PM (9/22) and 9:20PM (9/22) – 191 Clyde St.

Police were granted a search warrant to search a vehicle suspected of being used in a series of robberies. Police located the car and after a search of the trunk, were able to retrieve a large quantity of confirmed stolen property. All seized items were placed into evidence. Police were given surveillance footage that had been taken during the robbery. Two suspects were placed under arrest.

Graffiti

  • Occurred 1:39PM (9/23) – 678 Brookline Av.

While on patrol, police observed a series of graffiti tags on the rear wall of a local animal hospital. An overnight technician was able to give an approximate time in which the tags could have been placed. Police will be following up on the case.

Larceny

  • Occurred 8:32AM (9/23) – 900 Commonwealth Av

Police responded to a local store for report of a female suspect that had fled the store after attempting to steal cosmetics. Police were able to catch up to the suspect and question her. The store manager stated that he had notified the suspect that he will be contacting police, at which point she dumped the items and ran out the store. Police placed suspect under arrest for shoplifting.

Straight Warrant

  • Occurred 6:33AM (9/23) – Addington Rd/Addington Rd

Police responded to a call of an individual sleeping on a local park bench and being obnoxious to those passing by. Police were able to question the subject as to whether he had a place of residence and why he was sleeping in the park. Police ran a check on the subject within their system which turned up a warrant out in the subject’s name. Subject was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Traffic Offense

  • Occurred 8:40AM (9/23) – Boylston St/Philbrick Rd

Police observed suspect having sped through a red light and coming in close contact of hitting pedestrians, during the process. Suspect was stopped and cited for operating to endanger, failure to stop for a red signal, and failing to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk.

Fraud

  • Occurred between 6:35PM (8/19) and 6:35PM (9/9) – Sewall Ave.

Victim reported a series of unauthorized charges that were made through the use of her credit card. Victim feels that the individual who could have made use of her card may have been her brother. Police are currently working on getting the whereabouts of the suspect.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 12:00PM (9/10) and 12:00PM (9/13) – White Ave.

Victim reported that his ex-girlfriend was in possession of his property that he had left in her care. Upon retrieval victim was threatened by the suspect of a restraining order. Victim stated that the suspect had moved away with a few items and had left others behind in her old apartment. Detectives will be following up on the case.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 9:00AM (9/21) and 10:00AM (9/22) – 367 Harvard St.

Victim stated that her business sign was damaged by someone who placed a large sticker over it. Victim states that the original sign may be destroyed and may need to be replaced once the sticker is removed.

Revoked Registration

  • Occurred 9:18AM (9/22) – John St/Green St.

Subject was stopped by police after failing to stop at a stop sign. A check of the license and registration returned as revoked. Subject was cited for failure to stop for a stop sign, operating an uninsured vehicle, operating an unregistered vehicle, and operating after revocation. Subject was advised to contact his insurance company and the RMV in regards to re-registering his vehicle. Subject will be summonsed to court

Burglary

  • Occurred 9:57PM (9/21) – 1281 W Rox Pk

Police responded to a break in at a local golf shop. Upon arrival, police discovered golf balls in the driveway. Police found a smashed window at the front door of the shop. Several boxes of golf balls were found lying on the floor. The owner was contacted but he will contact police later with the detailed list as to what may have been taken during the break in.

Graffiti

  • Occurred between 11:30PM (9/20) and 9:02AM (9/21) – 111 Harvard St.

While on patrol police observed graffiti marks on a building that once was a former video store. Photos were taken of each mark. The individuals responsible for the property were contacted and notified of the damage.

  • Occurred between 12:30AM (9/21) and 8:00AM (9/21) – 14 Cypress St.

Victim contacted police in regards to graffiti marks on the fence of his house. Victim states tat the marks were done at some point overnight. Victim was in process of removing the tags upon police arrival.

Larceny

  • Occurred 11:08AM (9/21) – 1 Harvard St.

Victim reported that her bike was stolen from outside the local bank. Victim stated that she had left the bike against a pole. The bicycle was described as a Marlin brand men’s mountain bike.

Victim reported that some unknown individual had signed for a package that belonged to her. Victim states she is aware of the maintenance work occurring at the apartment where the package was signed at, but it has been vacant for a long time. Police are currently working on identifying the suspect.

Victim reported that his bicycle was stolen while he was in school. Victim states he had left the bike on the bicycle rack. The principal was notified in regards to the theft.

  • Occurred 4:26PM (9/21) – 1349 Beacon St.

A local store employee reported that a female suspect had walked out after shoplifting several items. Police reviewed the surveillance footage from the store. The suspect is described as a white female, approximately 5’6,” in her late 30’s, had black hair, big black sunglasses, a white V-neck shirt with a blue cardigan sweater, tight black pants, and open toe sandals.

  • Occurred 10:11PM (9/1) – 1470 Beacon St.

Victim reported that someone had stolen the rear tire off her bicycle. Victim states that her bike was the many locked to a rack in the basement of her apartment complex.

Not Duly Licensed

  • Occurred 11:24AM (9/21) – 44 Washington St.

Subject was stopped due to an expired inspection sticker and the number plate displayed an expired status. Subject presented the officer with an expired driver’s license. Subject was cited for operating with an expired license an expired vehicle registration, and an inspection sticker violation. Subject will be summoned to court for the criminal violations.

O.U.I.L

  • Occurred between 11:26PM (9/21) and 12:15AM (9/22) – 1 Brookline Pl

Police responded to a call of an assault and battery. Police were able to question the reporting party who stated that she had been assaulted by her friend who had been mad because she wasn’t allowed to drive home while intoxicated. Suspect was placed under arrest and cited for possession of marijuana.

Breaking and Entering of Motor Vehicle

  • Occurred between 7:30PM (9/17) and 3:27AM (9/18) – 30 New Terrace Rd.

Victim reported that he found the driver’s side window of his vehicle had been removed. Among the items missing, from the motor vehicle, were a GPS system and IPod Video. Victim found a knife on the passenger seat that didn’t belong to him along with several fingerprints on the window. The knife was submitted into evidence. Detectives sub sequentially processed the car.

  • Occurred between 10:00PM (9/17) and 4:44AM (9/18) – 30 New Terrace Rd.

Victim reported that someone had broken into her car by having smashed her driver’s side window and removed the radio. Victim stated that she had parked her vehicle in the parking lot of her housing complex.

Graffiti

  • Occurred between 12:00PM (9/17) and 8:30AM (9/18) – 207 Washington St.

Police responded to the local post office for report of graffiti marks on three different mailboxes. Police notified a post office employee so that a supervisor could be informed at some point. Police checked the area and found additional markings.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:00AM (9/16) and 10:00PM (9/17) – 4 0Webster St.

Victim reported that she had placed a pouch of jewelry into her luggage when she was in the process of a room change at a hotel. Victim stated that upon retrieval of her luggage she found the pouch missing. Victim asked the hotel’s front desk to ask its housekeeping department if the pouch had been recovered by anyone. Police will be following up on the case.

Not Duly Licensed

  • Occurred 2:11AM (9/21) – Babcock St/Harvard St

Subject was stopped during a routine traffic stop. A check of the license came back as suspended. Subject was issued a citation. Police have placed a request for the subject to be summonsed to court.

Warrant Apprehension

  • Occurred 2:55PM (9/18) – 350 Washington St.

Subject arrived at the police station and informed police that he may have a warrant. Police placed subject under arrest for the warrant.

Assault

  • Occurred 12:05AM (9/16) – 22 High St.

Police responded to a call of an individual that had been stabbed. Victim stated that he had received a call from a friend stating that the suspect was angry with him. Victim was confronted by the suspect as he exited his home. Police have issued a warrant for the suspect’s arrest. Suspect was described as a thing black male, last wore a white t-shirt, has corn rows for hair, light skinned, sometimes wears his hair in an afro, and has a goatee.

Graffiti

  • Occurred 8:32PM (9/16) – 194 Boylston St.

Police reported having seen graffiti marks on the side of a local building and on its rear. Photographs were taken to be submitted into evidence.

  • Occurred between 8:00PM (9/16) and 9:30AM (9/17) – 1482 Beacon St.

Victim reported graffiti marks on the basement door to her house. Police were able to contact the victim’s landlord. The landlord stated that he is aware of the situation and will have the graffiti removed as soon as possible.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:30PM (9/16) and 8:45PM (9/16) – 1280 Beacon St.

Victim reported that her purse was stolen while she was at a local restaurant. Victim reported that among the missing items were her home and car keys and cell phone. Victim canceled her credit cards and cell phone. Police are working on retrieving the surveillance footage.

  • Occurred between 12:00PM (9/10) and 8:00AM (9/11) – 128 University Rd.

Victim reported that his bicycle was stolen from his garage. Victim hadn’t seen any suspicious activity during the time of the theft.

Warrant Default

Suspect was spotted by police in the parking lot of a construction company. Suspect was known to have several default warrants. Suspect was placed under arrest for the default warrants.

While on patrol, police spotted an individual that was known to have a default warrant. Suspect was placed under arrest.

An employee at a local college reported having found graffiti marks on a concession area tent. The employee reported not having seen any suspicious activity.

  • Occurred between 8:00AM (9/10) and 10:22PM (9/15) – 427 Washington St.

Subject reported having found graffiti marks on her building.

Victim reported that his I-pod and cell phone were stolen from a local golf course. Victim attempted to have the phone located by informing his cell phone company.

Burglary

  • Occurred 10:00AM (9/13) – 182 Thorndike St.

Owner of a local Laundromat reported that someone had managed to open seven at his coin operated dryer machines in an unknown fashion. Victim stated that all coin boxes were empty and one happened to be missing. Victim stated that there is a locking system set in place. The boxes and the lock cylinders were all placed into evidence. Detectives will be processing the lock mechanisms.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 3:00PM (9/11) and 7:30AM (9/12) – 26 Greenough St.

Victim reported that an unknown individual had broken off the rear window wiper control of her vehicle. Detectives will be following up on the case.

Warrant Default

  • Occurred 9:09AM (9/14) – 345 Harvard St.

Police conducted a traffic stop when having spotted an expired inspection sticker on a subject’s vehicle. Police asked the subject for his license and registration. Subject stated that he didn’t have a license since it had been revoked. Police found that the subject also had a default warrant that had been issued for his arrest. Subject was placed under arrest and issued a citation for operating after revocation and operating with an expired inspection sticker.

Tip of the Week: Car alarms don’t seem to be deterring individuals from breaking in and taking the GPS system. As a precaution, the GPS should be taken with you when your car is left unattended.

Breaking and Entering of Motor Vehicle

  • Occurred between 11:45AM (9/10) and 8:30AM (9/11) – 1572 Beacon St.

Victim reported that his vehicle had been broken into and his GPS was stolen. Victim was informed by a neighbor who observed the car with a broken window. Nothing else was taken or disturbed from the vehicle. Victim found the vehicle still locked after the incident.

  • Occurred between 3:03AM (9/12) and 4:30AM (9/12) – 255 Tappan St.

Police located a suspect that had been seen attempting to break into parked cars. Police were able to stop the suspect, who was on foot, and question him. Suspect was intoxicated and unable to give clear responses. A search of the suspects backpack produced stolen cell phones, car mirrors, and several bags of marijuana most likely ready for distribution. Suspect was placed under arrest. Suspect was charged with possession of Class D with intent to distribute, possession of Class D controlled substances within a school zone, attempted larceny from an auto, and malicious damage.

Disorderly Person

· Occurred 1:45AM (9/12) – 16-18 Parkway Rd.

Officers responded to a scene of a dispute that had become physical. Police were able to separate both parties and question each individual in regards to the incident. Several witnesses stated that there was an additional altercation involving two other individuals. One of the male individual was placed under arrest for assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and disorderly conduct. The other individual was placed into protective custody and will be summonsed to court for assault and battery.

Graffiti

· Occurred between 5:00PM (9/10) and 9:00AM (9/11) – Brookline Av/Parkway Rd

Police responded to a call of graffiti located on a park bridge. Police checked the park for signs of spray-paint cans. Police will be conducting a follow up.

Larceny

· Occurred between 12:00PM (9/11) and 1:47PM (9/11) – 312 Harvard St.

Police responded to a local store in regards to an individual having stolen a red three wheel sport buggy. Police reviewed the surveillance tape. Suspect was described as a white male in his 30’s, approximately 6’ tall, and wearing a red windbreaker jacket. Police submitted a still shot of the suspect to the detectives division.

· Occurred 3:34PM (9/12) – 355 Washington St.

Victim reported that someone had stolen her backpack while she was at the library. Police reviewed the surveillance footage and the victim was able to identify the suspect. Suspect was described as a heavy set black female wearing a red baseball hat, white sweatshirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers. The backpack was black with a grey pocket near the middle. Victim was advised to cancel her debit card. The detective division will be following up on the case.

· Occurred between 9:36PM (9/12) and 10:36PM (9/12) – 714 Washington St.

Police responded to a call at a local tavern for reports of two stolen purses. The assailant was described as a tall white male, approximately 6’7.”

· Occurred between 8:00AM (9/11) and 7:00PM (9/13) – 90 Browne St.

Victim reported that his bike had been stolen from underneath his porch. Victim stated that he didn’t notice any suspicious activity. The bike was described as a red/white/black BMX.

· Occurred between 4:00PM (9/13) and 4:30PM (9/13) – 360 Tappan St.

Victim reported that a cable company employee was at his house for installation. Victim stated that once the employee left, he noticed that his watch was missing. Victim stated that he had last seen the watch before the employee left.

· Occurred between 3:00PM (8/29) and 8:00AM (9/3) – 116 Fuller St.

Victim reported that three I-Pod’s were stolen from his home. Victim believes that someone had entered his home at some point and took the I-Pod’s.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 11:30AM (9/12) and 11:35AM (9/12) – 26 Greenough St.

Victim reported having found the driver side mirror had been taken. Police observed that the interior wires of the mirrors had been cut.

Not Duly Licensed

  • Occurred 12:33PM (9/11) – Beacon St/Carlton St.

Victim was hit by subject when making a turn into traffic. Police questioned both parties. The individual who had struck victim not only had made an illegal turn but had an expired license in his possession. Subject was cited for operating with an expired license and making a turn where prohibited.

  • Occurred 10:30AM (9/6) – 1125 Boylston St.

Police stopped subject for a traffic violation. Subject presented an expired license. Subject will be summonsed to court for not being duly licensed and speeding.

Traffic Offense

Subject was stopped due to an illegal turn into traffic. Subject was asked for her license and registration. Subject’s license status came back as revoked. Subject was cited for improper left turn and operating after revocation of license. Subject will be summonsed to court.

Breaking and Entering of Motor Vehicle

  • Occurred 6:51PM (9/10) – Summit Av/Short St.

Victim reported having noticed that the driver side window frame molding of his vehicle had been damaged. Police observed the damage and feel as if the suspect had used a screw driver and tried to pry down the window. Victim feels that the attempt may have been made due to his GPS that was sitting on the windshield. Detectives will be processing the vehicle.

Fraud

  • Occurred between 8:00AM (8/18) and 8:27AM (9/10) – 24 Williams St.

Victim reported fraudulent charges having been made through two of his credit cards. Victim was able to talk to both companies and cancel his credit cards. No further unauthorized accounts have opened up through the use of the victim’s name.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 4:15PM (9/9) and 7:15AM (9/10) – 1 Brookline Pl.

Victim reported that the file cabinet key to her officer had gone missing. Victim stated that she had called a maintenance company to open the cabinet. Upon the file cabinet being forced open, victim stated that cash, checks, and receipts that had once been in the cabinet were missing as well. Police are currently in the process of contacting the manager.

Victim reported his bike stolen from the parking garage. Victim stated that he had locked the bike to a bike-rack within the garage. Police are working on retrieving the surveillance footage.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 7:00AM (9/9) and 8:30AM (9/9) – 630 Washington St.

Victim reported that someone had keyed his car. The passenger side of the victim’s car had a long scratch. Victim stated that he had just moved to the area so he is not aware of who may have done the damage.

  • Occurred between 11:30PM (9/10) and 11:41PM (9/10) – 105 Holland Rd.

Police responded to two separate calls regarding an incident involving both calling parties. Police were able to have both parties relay the issue and the outcome. During the course of the conflict one party had managed to do damage to the other parties vehicle. Due to the damage, police have requested that the responsible party be summonsed to court.

Traffic Offense

  • Occurred 12:43AM (9/10) – 1318 Beacon St.

Police stopped a suspect’s vehicle due to a traffic violation. Suspect was asked for his license and registration. Suspect was in possession of an international driver’s permit which isn’t considered as a valid license. Due to the suspect not having a valid license, he was placed under arrest. Suspect was cited for an illegal left turn and not duly licensed to operate a motor vehicle.

Assault

  • Occurred 6:49PM (9/9) – 32 Colbourne Cres

Police responded to a scene involving a verbal argument between two men that became physical. Victim was assaulted by suspect due to what the suspect believe was persistent noise making in the parking lot. Suspect will be summonsed to court for the charge of assault and battery.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 1:00PM (9/6) and 6:00PM (9/6) – Stearns Rd.

Victim reported items having been stolen from her apartment. Victim stated that she had locked both apartments’ doors well. Victim had an idea of who the suspects may have been. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 6:00PM (9/8) and 7:00AM (9/9) – 97 Winthrop Rd

Victim reported that her bike was stolen from her front porch. The bike is a black and orange Nova Commuter bike with silver “X” on top of the frame.

  • Occurred 9:00AM (9/9) and 2:00PM (9/9) – 35 Davis Av.

Victim reported that someone had stolen four of her planter pots off her porch. Victim stated that she had been home all day and hadn’t heard or seen any suspicious activity. Victim described the planters as heavy and antique looking.

  • Occurred 4:23PM (9/9) – 1310 Beacon St.

Police responded to a local cell phone store for a robbery involving five young males. The store employees stated that the suspects had fled the store with two cell phones. Four of the five suspects were located and questioned. All four suspects were placed under arrest and charged with larceny. Police are currently working on locating the fifth suspect. Police have requested the video surveillance from the store.

Victim stated that an individual on his bike had struck his vehicle. Suspect had struck the right side mirror with his fist, causing it to fall. Suspect was found and questioned. Police have requested a clerks hearing for malicious damage.

Traffic Offense

  • Occurred 10:01AM (9/9) – Milton Rd/Boylston St.

Suspect was stopped for making a prohibited turn in traffic. Suspect was stopped and was asked for his license and registration. Suspect’s license check came back as revoked. Suspect was placed under arrest for operating m/v after revocation

Larceny

  • Occurred between 9:00AM (9/8) and 11:15AM (9/8) – 25 Harvard St.

Victim reported that her wallet was stolen from her purse while exercising. Victim stated that the roster was missing an individual who hadn’t signed in. Police are following up on the case.

  • Occurred between 12:00PM (8/20) and 12:38PM (9/8) – High St.

Victim reported that her children’s Nintendo Wii video gaming system was missing from her closet. Victim states that her apartment was scheduled to be exterminated. According to the victim, the system went missing during the time when the maintenance workers were in her apartment.

  • Occurred between 12:59PM (6/14) and 12:59PM (7/31) – 190 Harvard St.

Subject reported to police that a few items that belonged to her sister had been stolen. Victim stated that she noticed missing items during her move out process. Victim believes that the only other person who is able to enter the apartment is someone who has a key. Police questioned the maintenance worker and landlord. Detectives will be following up on the case.

  • Occurred 7:34PM (9/8) – University Rd.

Victim reported his bike was stolen from his garage. Victim states that nothing else had been taken but suspect did leave a bike behind. Police have placed the bike in evidence.

  • Occurred between 7:30AM (9/8) and 7:33PM (9/8) – 120 Armory St.

Victim reported that someone had stolen his bike. Victim states that he had locked the bike to a parking sign pole. Victim had taken the seat off the bike hoping to deter any theft. Victim will be notifying police with the serial numbers.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 12:00PM (9/4) and 7:20AM (9/8) – 1768 Beacon St.

Victim reported having found glass fragments on the floor in her apartment. Victim stated she then observed that two of her windows had been damaged. Police noted that the damage didn’t appear to be the result of an attempted break in.

Operating after Suspension

  • Occurred 12:58PM (9/8) – 1396 Beacon St.

Suspect was stopped by police for failure to use signals when having entered into oncoming traffic. Police were able to stop suspect. Suspect’s license check came back suspended. Suspect was placed under arrest for operating after suspension. Suspect was be issued a citation for failing to use turn signal and failing to yield to oncoming traffic while turning left.

  • Occurred 5:01PM (9/8) – Washington St/Davis Av

Police responded to a call of an individual driving erratically. Suspect was stopped by police. Suspect’s license check came back suspended. Suspect was placed under arrest for operating after suspension.

Robbery

  • Occurred between 12:15AM (9/8) and 1:30AM (9/8) – Babcock St/Commonwealth Av.

Victim had approached a patrol car to state that he had been assaulted and his assailants had taken his bag. Victim stated that all four males had fled in a dark green van. As victim was talking to the officers, the van drove by. Police stopped the van. Police found five occupants, all of whom were questioned in regards to the incident. All parties were placed under arrest and will be charged with unarmed robbery, assault and battery, assault and battery D/W, and disorderly.

Violation of Court Order

  • Occurred between 5:31AM (6/14) and 11:00PM (6/14) – 0 Harvard Pl.

Victim reported that her assailant had violated a restraining order she had against him. Suspect will be charged with three counts of violation of the restraining order. After being unable to locate the suspect, police have requested a warrant.

Warrant- Default

  • Occurred 10:04PM (9/8) – 350 Washington St.

Upon arriving to the police station to retrieve her car, subject’s towed vehicle report displayed a warrant. Subject was placed under arrest for the warrant.
