August 8th - 10th Police Reports

Graffiti Law

  • Occurred between 1:00AM (8/08) and 6:00AM (8/08) – High St

Reporting party states that sometime in the early morning someone painted graffiti on the side of her apartment building. The letters “BSB” and “Scovv” were written on the wall with blue paint. The letters “BSB” were also written on the side of a dumpster opposite her building.

  • Occurred between 8:30PM (8/08) and 7:30AM (8/09) – 50 Winchester St

Owner reports that sometime overnight someone gain access to the locked front foyer of his building and sprayed painted the interior lobby doors, mirrors and two paintings with red paint.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 1:00PM (8/08) and 6:00PM (8/08) Reservoir Rd/ Heath St

Victim reports that after returning to her vehicle she observed that the right rear side window had been smashed. Nothing appeared to be missing.

  • Occurred between 8:30PM (8/08) and 3:45PM (8/09) – 210 Middlesex Rd

Police were dispatched to a report of damage done to a vehicle. Upon arrival police observed inappropriate words scratched into the paint on the front hood of the car.

Larceny

  • Occurred at 6:23PM (8/09) – 900 Commonwealth Ave (CVS)

Store employee reports that he observed an individual enter the store and walk straight into the skin and hair products aisle. He then observed the suspect conceal 8 bottles of various shampoos and conditioners into a bag and start walking towards the door. Suspect was stopped and later placed under arrest for shoplifting.

  • Occurred between 7:00AM (8/08) and 6:58AM (8/09) – 46 Hallwood Rd

Victim reports that sometime overnight 3 copper downspouts that were attached to his garage had been stolen.

  • Occurred between 4:00PM (8/09) and 11:34PM ( 8/09) – 166 Thorndike St

Victim reports that his son’s silver Treck Mountain bike was stolen from the foyer area of his apartment. The bike was placed on the first floor, and was secured on the railing with a Kryptonite lock. There were several pry marks found on the front door of the foyer area.

Burglary

  • Occurred at 12:18PM (8/10) – 599 Brookline Ave (Lynch Center)

Officers responded to a business alarm that had been triggered. Upon arrival officers observed that the side door’s window panel had been smashed in and the door was slightly opened. Nothing appeared to be missing from the center.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 8:50PM (8/10) – Thornton Rd

Officers responded to a call of a dispute. When they arrived they talked to a male individual who reported that he and his wife had an argument and that sometime during the dispute she had punched him in the face. She was placed under arrest for domestic assault and battery.

  • Occurred at 1:01AM (8/08) – Kent St

Officers responded to a complaint of a dispute occurring at a parking lot. Upon arrival officers met with a witness that reported seeing a male and female arguing next to a vehicle and observed the man hit and damage the vehicle. The man was placed under arrest for domestic assault and battery and malicious destruction of property.

August 7th Police Reports

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 12:58AM (8/07) and 1:00AM (8/07) – 207 Russett Rd

Victim reports that he was awaken by the sound of shattering glass. He went downstairs and discovered that the window to the dining room had been shattered. He found a rock on the floor next to the window.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 1:49AM (8/07) – Harvard St/ Stedman St

Police officer who was directing traffic observed a car traveling at high speed. After motioning the car to pull over the driver refused and drove away taking an illegal right turn down a one – way. Shortly after the driver was pulled over. Driver was placed under arrest for negligent operation, failure to stop for an officer, speeding and a one way violation.

  • Occurred at 2:45AM (8/07) – Jamaica Way

Officer on patrol observed a vehicle swerving in its lane. After stopping the vehicle officers noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the car. Driver was placed under arrest for operating under the influence and possession of a Class D substance.

August 6th Police Reports

Arrest

  • Occurred between 1:25AM (8/06) and 1:47AM (8/06) – Boylston St

Officer on patrol observed a vehicle traveling at excessive speed. After stopping the driver further investigation revealed that the driver’s right to operate a motor vehicle had been suspended. Driver was placed under arrest and charged with operating after suspension. He was also given a citation for speeding.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 3:30PM (7/30) and 8:00AM (7/31) – 27 Francis St

Camp coordinator reports that she had placed a digital camera on top of a desk in the director’s office. After returning to work the next morning she noticed that the camera was missing. The camera was a Sony Cyber Shot valued at $250.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 6:30PM (8/05) and 1:38PM (8/06) – 845 Boylston St

Victim reports that he received a call telling him that the far left garage door of his gas station was wide open. After returning to his business he entered through the garage door and discovered that the rear window had been smashed. He stated that when he left he had locked the garage door. Nothing appeared to be missing.

August 5th Police Reports

Breaking and Entering/ Larceny MV

  • Occurred between 7:00PM (8/04) and 11:30PM (8/04) – Brookline Ave/ River Rd

Victim reported that sometime in the late afternoon the front passenger window of his vehicle had been smashed. Missing is a Magellan GPS system valued at $250.

Found Property

  • Occurred between 12:30PM (7/31) and 11:09AM (8/05) – 32 Harvard St

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 2:00PM (8/01) and 6:00AM (8/04) – 64 Westbourne Tr. (Driscoll School)

School employee reports that the window screen over the cafeteria door at the rear of the school was damaged. Several rocks were found in front of the door.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 12:43AM (8/04) – 774 Boylston St

Officer on patrol observed a vehicle traveling at excessive speed. After stopping the vehicle the officer noticed a strong odor coming from the car. Driver was placed under arrest for possession of a Class D substance with intent to distribute.

Fraud

  • Occurred between 12:00PM (7/04) and 12:00PM (7/08) – Washington St

Victim who regularly monitors his online account observed several unauthorized purchases made to his account. A printout of his account showed 16 separate charges totaling $799.46 that were not made by him.

August 1st – 3rd Police Reports

Larceny

  • Occurred between 5:20PM and 5:45PM – 300 Harvard St (The Gap)

Employee observed suspect rip sales tags off several pieces of clothing articles and put them into her bag. Police recovered eight Gap clothing articles from her purse. Suspect was charged with shoplifting.

  • Occurred between 5:00PM (8/01) and 7:00PM (8/01) – 1 Pierce Playground

Victim reports that she had left her bag with some friends at Pierce Playground and after returning to retrieve it she observed her cell phone was missing. The phone is a white “Chocolat” phone valued at $200.

Attempted Burglary

  • Occurred between 10:00PM and 8:30AM – 100 Goddard Ave

Victim reports that sometime overnight someone attempted to break into her house via the second floor bedroom window. Two pry marks were found in the frame of the window.

  • Occurred between 5:00PM (7/31) and 9:45AM (8/01) – 1871 Beacon Street

Victim reports that upon arriving home she noticed that the blinds on one of her front windows was disturbed and found a partial footprint on the same window sill. There was also an indention on the lower end of her bed as if someone had sat at the edge of it. Nothing appeared to be missing.

  • Occurred at 12:21PM (8/01) – 39 Auburn St

Police were dispatched to a report of someone screaming in front of a building. After arriving on scene, police were notified by a tenant that a man who did not live there had entered the building via the basement. After entering the basement the suspect fled the scene leaving behind a backpack. Suspect is described as a white middle – aged male, with black long hair worn in a ponytail, wearing a red and black stripped shirt and black shorts.

Graffiti Law

  • Occurred between 10:00PM (8/02) and 10:50AM (8/03) – Lawton St

Reporting party states that sometime overnight graffiti was written on the side of his building. The word “dawg” was spray painted in bubble letters in the color black.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 6:30PM (8/02) – Commonwealth Ave/ Pleasant St

Officer on patrol recognized a familiar party and after running a check it was revealed that the suspect had several outstanding warrants. He was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred between 10:11AM (7/31) and 1:30PM (7/31) – Washington St

Victim reported that she received several threatening messages from her neighbor who she is testifying against in behalf of a past assault and battery. Police arrested the neighbor and charged her with stalking, and intimidating a witness.

  • Occurred at 1:09AM (8/01) – Boylston St/ Lee St

Police on patrol observed a vehicle traveling at excessive speed and pulled it over. Further investigation revealed that the driver’s right to operate a motor vehicle had been suspended and that he was in possession of an illegal substance. Driver was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred at 12:48AM (8/01) – Harvard St/ Kent St

Officers on patrol observed a vehicle operating without its headlights on. Further investigation revealed that the driver did not have a license to operate a motor vehicle. Driver was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred at 12:08AM (8/02) – Harvard St

Officer on patrol observed an individual urinating in an alleyway. After stopping the suspect further investigation revealed that he was underage and under the influence of alcohol as well as in possession of an illegal substance. He was placed under arrest and charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol and for possession of a class B and D substance.

Breaking and Entering MV

  • Occurred between 9:00AM (8/01) and 2:30PM (8/02) – 186 Naples Rd

Victim stated that he had parked his vehicle in the rear lot of his building in the morning and after returning in the afternoon he noticed that his rear hatch door was partly open. He observed that his sub woofer and amplifier were unplugged and missing from the back of his vehicle.

July 31st Police reports

Graffiti Law

  • Occurred between 8:00PM (7/30) and 10:30PM (7/31) – 123 Harvard St

Reporting party states that his William Piano Company vehicle had been vandalized with graffiti. Several tags including “AYCE”, and “24K” were found on the vehicle. The tags were all sprayed with black paint.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 7:30AM (7/23) and 2:30PM (7/23) – 115 Greenborough St

Victim reports that after returning to his vehicle he observed several scratches that appeared to have been made by a key or some other sharp object. The scratches were located on the driver’s side front panel and door.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 1:32AM (7/31) – Washington St/ Pond Ave

Officer’s on patrol observed a vehicle traveling with its driver’s side headlight out. Further investigation revealed that the driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended license and was placed under arrest.

July 30th Police Reports

Larceny

  • Occurred between 9:25AM (7/30) and 4:30PM (7/30) – 4 Alton Ct

Victim reported that when he returned home in the afternoon he found that his front door was opened. Upon entering his home he observed that his house phone was missing from the kitchen counter, a container of sorbet was found on the floor near the refrigerator, and 4 beverages were missing from the fridge. Other items missing include a play station 2, jewelry, and a small black backpack.

  • Occurred between 10:30PM (7/29) and 9:00AM (7/30) – 676 Hammond St

Victim reports that a “claw foot” cast iron bathtub was stolen from his front yard sometime last night. The bathtub has been in his front yard next to a dumpster for the last two weeks.

  • Occurred at 1:15PM (7/28) - 305 Dudley St

Victim reports that the front plate of her car went missing while it was parked in her driveway.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 10:30PM (7/29) and 7:00AM (7/30) – 2 Claflin Rd

Victim reported that after returning to her scooter she observed that the signal lights and mirrors were all smashed. She had left her bicycle parked at an intersection of Winthrop Rd and Claflin Rd. She stated that traffic cones were also placed around the scooter.

Breaking and Entering MV

  • Occurred between 1:50PM (7/30) and 2:15PM (7/30) – 1281 W Roxbury PK

Victims reported that their vehicle had been broken into at the Brookline Golf club parking lot. Victims returned to their car and observed that the rear window frame had been smashed. Two computer briefcases containing various properties were stolen from the rear luggage compartment.

  • Occurred between 10:30PM (7/29) and 6:43AM (7/30) – 251 ST Paul St

Victim observed that the front driver side window of her vehicle was broken. Her vehicle was parked in her driveway overnight. She also discovered that her portable Garmin Marine GPS that was placed on the driver side floor was missing. It is valued at $1200.

July 29th Police Reports

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 6:50AM (7/26) and 11:00PM (7/26) – 350 Washington St

Victim reported that she found damage done to her vehicle which was parked at a parking lot. Victim observed a deep scratch mark extending from the vehicle’s right front passenger door across to the rear.

Larceny

  • Occurred at 6:05PM – 11 Harvard St

Employee reported that two individuals walked into the store and after viewing some sunglasses one of them grabbed two pairs and fled with the second individual right behind him. Employee was able to follow suspects and retrieve the stolen glasses. Further investigation revealed that the suspect who stole the glasses had committed similar crimes in the past. A warrant has been issued for the suspect’s arrest.

July 28th Police Reports

Larceny

  • Occurred between 10:00PM (7/27) and 10:00AM (7/28) – 174 Harvard St

Victim reports that sometime overnight his motorized bicycle was stolen. The bicycle was locked with a ½ inch cable lock. Victim stated that the motor bicycle has a missing right side running panel and has yellow stickers on the head lights.

  • Occurred between 9:00AM (7/22) and 2:00PM (7/22) - 39 Prince St

Victim reports that sometime early morning her auto – brake bicycle had been taken from her garage. The garage had been left open and the bicycle was unlocked at the time. Bike is valued at $300.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 5:59PM (7/28) – 1309 Beacon St

Officers were dispatched to a store after its panic alarm had been triggered. Upon arrival officers meet with the store owner who stated that the women by the front door stole some items. After questioning the women it was revealed that she had two stolen items in her bag. Suspect was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting.

  • Occurred between 4:18PM (7/28) and 4:35PM (7/28) – Station St

Police were dispatched to a location where they observed three males in an alley. After approaching them officers noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from their location. Further investigation revealed that one of the men was in possession of a Class D substance. He was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred between 5:25PM (7/28) and 5:55PM (7/28) – Longwood Ave/ Harvard St

Officer on patrol observed a driver operating a motorcycle without a helmet. After stopping the driver further investigation revealed that the driver’s right to operate a motor vehicle had been suspended. Driver was arrested and charged with operating after suspension, helmet law violation and for having an unregistered/uninsured MV.

  • Occurred at 8:52PM (7/28) – High St

Police were dispatched to a report of a group of people fighting in a courtyard. Officer’s arrived and observed two females arguing. Further investigation revealed that one of the women hit the other women who were later identified as her daughter. She was placed under arrest for domestic assault and battery.

Attempted Burglary

  • Occurred between 7:30AM (7/28) and 5:25PM (7/28) – 115 Westbourne St

Victim returned home and observed holes in her rear kitchen window. She also noticed a glass candle holder broken on the floor and a salad bowl also on the floor. At the front porch there was another screen that was broken in the same manner as the rear screen. Nothing appeared to be missing.

July 25th – 27th Police Reports


Arrest


  • Occurred at 2:44AM (7/25) – Washington St/ Walnut St

Officers on patrol observed a vehicle traveling at excessive speed. After stopping the vehicle for a traffic violation further investigation revealed that the driver had two outstanding warrants. Driver was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred at 12:48AM – Pond Ave/ Washington St

Officers on patrol observed a vehicle traveling with a defective headlight. After stopping the vehicle officers noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. Driver was placed under arrest and charged with possession Class D. He was also given a citation for defective equipment and speeding.

  • Occurred at 1:54PM (7/25) – 99 Harvard St (Walgreens)

Police on patrol stopped a man matching the description of a suspect that fled a Walgreens store with stolen items. An employee positively identified the man and further investigation revealed that suspect also had two active traffic warrants. Suspect was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred at 11:03PM (7/25) – Boylston/ Hammond St

Police were dispatched to a report of a man sleeping behind the wheel of his car. After approaching the vehicle officers observed the driver with his head down on his steering wheel and noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the car. Driver was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

  • Occurred at 6:00PM (7/26) – Chestnut Hill/ Eliot St

Police on patrol stopped a vehicle after a check showed that the driver had an active warrant. Driver was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred at 12:51PM (7/27) – Harvard St

Employee reports that she witnessed two individuals disputing and observed a male drag a woman by her hair to his car. The male later admitted to grabbing the female and forcibly putting her in his car. A check also showed that he was not duly licensed. He was placed under arrest for assault and battery.

  • Occurred at 9:06PM – Winslow Rd

Police were dispatched on a report of a man with a gun. Police arrived to find three men heavily intoxicated arguing. Police found one of the men in possession of a BB gun. He was placed under arrest.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 11:00AM (7/21) and 11:28AM (7/25) – 180 High St

Victim reports that she observed that the front and rear tires of her bicycle were damaged. The bike was parked at a bike rack.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 4:00PM (7/24) and 10:00AM (7/25) – 3 Cleveland Rd

Vitim reported that she had placed her pocketbook down on the rear steps of her home when she was attempting to unlock the door. She states that she left her bag there overnight and when she returned to retrieve it she noticed that her Citi- Bank credit card, her Sovereign debit card were both missing along with $50 in cash.

  • Occurred between 5:00PM (7/25) and 10:00AM (7/26) – 106 Davis Ave

Victim returned to his car and discovered that his $250 beige Banana Republic suit jacket was missing. Victim states that he left his car unlocked.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 12:30AM (7/26) and 2:50AM (7/26) – 160 Thorndike St

Victim observed that the front right panel of her building’s front door was broken. Further investigation revealed that the stairwell banister where her bike was, had been pulled off in an attempt to take the bike. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Breaking and Entering MV

  • Occurred between 5:00PM (7/20) and 11:00AM (7/26) – 83 White Place

Victim reported that he found his vehicle’s registration and manual in the bushes. Both items were taken out of the glove compartment sometime in the afternoon. Nothing else appeared to be missing.

Motor Vehicle Theft

  • Occurred between 3:00PM (7/26) and 4:30PM (7/26) - 1168 Commonwealth Ave

Victim reported that he parked his vehicle in the rear parking lot of the car dealership where he was employed. He returned and found it missing. He states that he left the keys in the car.

July 24th Police Reports

Burglary

  • Occurred between 9:10AM (7/24) and 5:00PM (7/24) – 260 Aspinwall Ave.

Victim’s state that sometime in the afternoon they returned home and found their front door had been forced opened. Victims observed several opened drawers and closets. Items missing include jewelry, a Dell Laptop, a Compaq Laptop, Canon camera accessories, and credit cards.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 1:32PM (7/24) – Boylston St/ Cypress St

Officers on patrol observed a vehicle traveling at excessive speed. After stopping the vehicle further investigation revealed that the driver was operating under a suspended license. He was placed under arrest.

July 23rd Police Reports

Larceny

  • Occurred between 2:00PM (7/23) and 3:20PM (7/23) – 1428 Beacon St

Employee reported that she heard the sound of her cash register drawer being opened. When she went to the front of the store she observed a white male running out of the store and the cash register lying open. There was $70 taken from the register. The suspect was a white male with a mohawk wearing shorts and a long sleeve green shirt.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 6:47PM (7/23) – 1319 Beacon Street

Police were dispatched for a report of an indecent exposure. Victim reports that she observed the suspect standing near a tree urinating. Suspect was placed under protective custody.

Found Property

  • Occurred on 10:30AM – 1469 Beacon St

A ladies bag was found next to a red construction site box on Beacon St. The bag is described as a black and white ladies tote bag. For retrieval please contact the Brookline Police Department.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:00AM (6/16) and 8:00AM (7/17) – 100 Eliot St (Heath School)

Principal reports that some of the letters which spell out “Heath School” on the front of the school had been stolen. The letters are silver and are approximately 1’ in height. The letters missing are as follows: H, S, C, O, and O.

  • Occurred between 12:00PM (7/18) and 12:07PM (7/21) – 27 Francis Street (Lawrence School)

School Official reports that sometime during the day a summer school teacher returned to her classroom and found that a school laptop and projector was missing. Laptop is valued at $1200 and projector valued at $600.

Property Damage

  • Occurred between 10:05AM (7/21) and 1:49PM (7.21) – Brookline Ave/ River Rd

Victim returned to his car in the afternoon and found the front end of his car was damaged. His car was parked at a meter parallel to the street.

Motor Vehicle Violation

  • Occurred at 2:32AM (7/21) – Francis St

Police on patrol pulled over a vehicle matching the description of a car they were looking for. Further investigation revealed that the driver was operating after suspension. He was issued a citation for having an unregistered MV and operating on a suspended registration.

July 18th – 20th Police Reports

Burglary

  • Occurred between 2:00PM (7/20) and 10:00PM (7/20) – 11 Stearns Rd

Victim reports that sometime in the afternoon her bicycle was stolen out of the front foyer area of her building. Bicycle was left unlocked. The bike is described as a blue and silver Fuji Finest AL Road Bike with sporty graphics. There was a helmet left on the bicycle at the time it was stolen. Bicycle valued at $1000.

  • Occurred between 7:00PM (7/09) and 7:00PM (7/12) – 8 Dwight St

Victim reports that her bicycle was stolen from the front foyer of her building entrance. The bicycle was left unlocked. The bike is described as a Schwinn Grey Frontier Touring/Mountain Bicycle and is valued at $300.

  • Occurred between 1:00PM (7/19) and 10:30AM (7/20) – 32 Russell St

Victim returned home and noticed that his shed door was partly open and found his bicycle missing. The shed door was not locked.

  • Occurred between 7:40AM (7/18) and 4:30PM (7/18) – 68 Boylston St

Victim returned home and upon entering her apartment observed clothes tossed around her room. Items taken included a white Apple Mac Book laptop valued at $1500, two gold rings valued at $150 a piece, and one silver necklace valued at $250, one gold bracelet valued at $50, one gold necklace valued at $175, a social security card and a US passport. Roommates also reported having several items stolen from their rooms as well.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 1:53AM (7/20) – Mountfort St/ Carlton St

Police on patrol pulled over a driver for not having his headlights on. Further investigation revealed that the driver had a warrant out for his arrest. The driver contacted the owner of the car who arrived on scene and who also had two warrants issued. Both drivers were placed under arrest.

  • Occurred at 6:20PM (7/19) - Muddy River

Officer on patrol noticed an individual suspiciously walking through way alleys. After questioning the individual it was revealed that he was in possession of an illegal substance. Further investigation revealed that he also had a warrant out for his arrest. Suspect was placed under arrest and charged with possession.

  • Occurred at 1:13AM (7/20) – Harvard St

Police responded to a report of man wearing a white t-shirt and an orange bandana chasing a woman. Police later stopped an individual matching that description. Victim stated that she and the man who was identified as her friend began disputing in her car when he struck her and then left. Victim was arrested and charged with assault and battery and having possession of a Class D substance.

  • Occurred between 2:42AM (7/19) and 3:39AM – Harvard St/ Auburn St

Officers on patrol pulled over driver for taking an illegal U-turn. Further investigation revealed that the driver was operating with a suspended license and was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred between 2:52AM (7/19) and 3:40AM (7/19) – Verndale St

Police responded to a report of an assault. Victim reports that her past roommate came back to her apartment to retrieve old belongings when a dispute erupted and she was violently kicked in her chest area. Roommate was placed under arrest for assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Malicious Damage

Employee reported that upon arriving to work in the morning he observed that one of the front windows of his business was damaged. There were several large cracks present on the outer pane of the glass.

Victim stated that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that the rear window of his car was smashed. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Larceny

Victim reports that UPS delivered a package and left it on his doorway. Victim says that the package was not there when he went to retrieve it. The package contained a camera and equipment.

Breaking and Entering

Victim reported that sometime in the afternoon she returned to her car and observed that the front passenger window had been shattered. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 2:10AM (7/17) – Washington St

Officers on patrol pulled a vehicle over for a traffic violation. Officers noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the car. The driver was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He also had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest and was operating a motor vehicle after revocation.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 9:45AM (7/16) and 7:15PM (7/16) – Davis Ave

Victims reported that upon arriving home they found that their front apartment door had been pried open. Missing items included a laptop that was under a mattress and a digital camera that was sitting on a desk.

  • Occurred between 12:29PM (7/11) and 11:29AM (7/16) – Lancaster St

Victim reports that her house alarm was triggered sometime early morning. Officers responded and found no sign of forced entry. She noticed several days later that a Sony camera box with a digital charger and a book of checks were missing.

  • Occurred between 10:00AM (7/15) and 11:56AM (7/15) – Boylston St

Suspect appeared to have used a large flagstone from the rear garden to smash the rear storm door after having torn open the screen door. Items taken include three antique Nikon cameras, two antique Canon cameras, four Latvian amber folk pins, one silver and amber bracelet, an Acer Laptop, and two jewelry boxes. Witness says they saw a worn dark green car pull into the driveway. Driver was a black, middle aged man with grayish hair.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 5:36AM (7/16) – Winchester St/ Beacon St

Police on patrol pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation. After stopping the vehicle the officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the car. The driver was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Driver was also given a citation for an illegal left turn and for not having a license in possession.

Larceny

  • Occurred at 9:30AM (7/14) – 9:40AM (7/14) – Harvard St

Victim stated that she placed her wallet inside her baby bag on the baby carriage she was driving around. She then entered Henry Bear’s Park Store and while inside she had left the carriage unattended while she walked around with the baby in her arms. She left 10 minutes later. She went to make a purchase at a neighboring store when she noticed her wallet was missing.

Victim reports that sometime overnight someone entered his car and took his computer. Victim says that he had left his doors unlocked.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 8:00PM (7/13) and 10:00PM (7/14) – Beacon St

Victim reported that sometime overnight there was damage done to the driver’s side rear panel and bumper of her black Volvo. The damage could have been done with a tool or possibly another vehicle (striking it multiple times).

  • Occurred between 9:00AM (7/02) and 9:00AM (7/03)

Sometime overnight suspect intentionally jammed a credit card receipt into the Town of Brookline Overnight Guest Parking Machine. The receipt was jammed into the machine in such a way as to render it inoperable. The jam caused $300 - $500 in lost revenue.

Sexual Assault

  • Occurred at 9:05AM (7/14) - Pond Ave

Police were dispatched to the Pond Ave area along the muddy river foot path for a report of a past indecent exposure. The suspect is described as a middle aged man, with white hair and a white baseball cap. It has been the 3rd incident within the last three weeks involving indecent exposure. Suspect was not located.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 11:58PM (7/14) – Boylston St/ Eliot Av

An officer who was directing traffic flagged a vehicle after the driver failed to stop upon request and who took an illegal turn onto a one way street. After stopping the vehicle the officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the car. The driver was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was also given a citation for failure to stop for a police officer and a one way violation.

  • Occurred at 11:01PM (7/14) – Harvard St/Thorndike St

Officers on patrol pulled over a vehicle whose driver suspiciously ducked as they passed. Further investigation revealed that he had a warrant issued and was place under arrest.

Larceny

  • Occurred at 10:19PM (7/13) – 1324 Beacon St (Walgreens)

Employee reported that she saw the suspect take two GE digital cameras from the photo area of the store. Suspect grabbed the cameras and fled the store towards Harvard Street.

  • Occurred between 10:00AM (7/11)and 4:00PM (7/11) - Winthrop Rd

Victim reported that his bicycle was stolen from the third floor landing of his residence. The bike is described as blue with a Discovery Channel paint job, valued at $1000.

  • Occurred at 8:08PM (7/11) –Devotion Tennis Court

Victim reported that he had left his wallet on the tennis court sideline. After returning to retrieve it he observed four individuals fleeing the court area and found his wallet missing. Wallet contained assorted Israeli credit cards, a set of Tag Huer multi – optical glasses and $2220.00 in US currency.

  • Occurred between 11:00AM (7/11) and 1:38PM – Brookline Public Library/ Washington St

Victim reports that when she went to make a purchase her wallet was missing. She says that she had left her purse unattended at the library to take a call outside. After returning 15 minutes later to her work area she did not notice it was missing from her clutch bag.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 1:25AM (7/13) – Harvard St

Police on patrol stopped the suspect for operating his vehicle with a defective tail/break light. After being pulled over further investigation revealed that he had a warrant issued and was place under arrest.

  • Occurred at 11:10AM (7/10) – Bellington Rd/ South St

After being pulled over for not having a Mass Inspection Sticker, driver was put under arrest for operating after suspension of a license.

  • Occurred at 9:56AM (7/13) – Cypress St

Police on patrol pulled over suspect for a traffic violation. Further questioning revealed that the driver was under the influence of a drug. Driver was placed under arrest and charged with possession Class D.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 6:30PM (7/10) and 6:00AM (7/11) – Parkville

Victim reported that after returning to his car in the morning he found that both his glove compartment and center console had been disturbed. The cooler in the back area of the car was opened and victim found several beverages missing. Items missing from the car include a black messenger bag containing an Ipod; leather bound Levinger notebook, a personal and business checkbook and a few dollars.

  • Occurred at 2:08AM (7/11) – Francis St

Witnesses reported that they saw the suspect bent over the driver’s side front window of a vehicle looking through a red wallet. After confronting him, the suspect fled the scene into a neighboring yard. Missing Item was an Old Navy credit card from her wallet.

Motor Vehicle Theft

  • Occurred between 6:00PM (7/10) and 7:00AM (7/11) – Thorndike St

Victim reports that sometime overnight his truck was stolen from his residency.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 8:30 (7/17) and 2:00PM (7/13) – Shailer St

Victim reported that after leaving his building he saw graffiti written on the corner of it. There were several words written on the wall in red color.

  • Occurred at 9:20AM – Sheafe St/ Hammond St

Truck driver reported he was engaged in a confrontation with a resident concerning parking when he witnessed the resident take a yellow can of bug spray and spray the interior of his truck. The steering wheel, paperwork and cell phone were all covered in sticky residue.

Found Property

  • Occurred at 10:30AM (7/13) – Thorndike St

A yellow Kent folding commuter scooter was found in the front yard of a residence. The scooter has a flat rear tire. For retrieval please contact the Brookline Police Department.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 12:01AM (7/09) and 2:00AM (7/09) – Lawton St

Victim reported that after leaving his workplace he noticed that the front passenger window of his car was shattered. Items missing included a Sony digital camera valued at $270, a bottle of cologne valued at $60, a TomTom GPS valued at $300 and $300 in US currency.

Attempt Burglary

  • Occurred between 7:44AM (7/08) and 10:45AM (7/09) – Pleasant St/ Freeman St

Sometime overnight someone pried off the pad lock of one of the buildings under construction at Freeman St. Workers reported that nothing appeared to be missing.

Graffiti

  • Occurred between 5:00PM (7/08) and 10:43AM (7/09) – Freeman St

Employee reported that somebody tagged the screening covering the fencing surrounding the construction site. Officers observed the letters "WMS” along with a sketch tagged on the screening.

  • Occurred between 5:00PM (7/08) and 1:00PM (7/09) – 194 Boylston St

Employee reported that she found graffiti on the wall at Walnut Path. The graffiti was done with red paint.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:25PM (7/09) and 8:31PM (7/09) – 1324 Beacon Street (Walgreens)

Employee reported that she saw the suspect put four Good Smart Supreme Baby formula cans into a Walgreen’s plastic bag. After asking the suspect whether he was going to purchase the items, the suspect took off and fled the store without making a purchase. The baby formula cans were valued at $29.49 each.

Officers on patrol pulled a vehicle over for a traffic violation. Officers noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the car. The driver was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was also given a citation for speeding.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 12:20PM (7/08) and 12:49AM (7/08) – Brookline Place

Victim returned to his desk at his place of employment to find his grayish blue North Face duffel bag missing. Video surveillance showed an individual reach across the desk, take the bag and then flee. The duffel bag is valued at $100. The duffel bag contained a grey Apple Ipod valued at $200, a cell phone charger valued at $50, an Apple Ipod charger valued at $50, cash in the amount of $20, insurance papers and one set of house keys.

  • Occurred between 1:40PM (7/07) and 1:44PM (7/07) – 99 Harvard St (Walgreens)

Employee noticed the suspect enter with an empty green bag. A few minutes later the suspect left the store with a full bag without making a purchase. The suspect exited the store, got on his bike and went south on Harvard St.

  • Occurred between 11:00AM (7/08) and 12:43AM (07/08) – Highland Rd

Suspect broke into the motor vehicle by smashing the rear vent window. Victim’s car was parked in her driveway. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Victim reports that someone vandalized the hood of his car. Suspect wrote a word and drew an image on the hood.

Burglary Attempt

  • Occurred at 10:06PM (07/07) – Dale Street

Police Officers were dispatch to a home whose audible house alarm was triggered. Upon arrival police found the front door kicked in. It appeared nothing was missing or out of place.

Found Property

  • Occurred 7:00PM (07/07)

A set of keys were found in the play area of Heath School Playground. For retrieval please contact the Brookline Police Station.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 5:00AM (07/07) and 5:52AM (07/07) – Baker CR

Victim reports that sometime overnight she observed a person enter both her vehicles at her home and then leave. The suspect appeared to have driven away in a white van.

Officers later stopped a vehicle matching the description of a white van that was suspiciously driving down Baker Circle. After stopping the vehicle the officers questioned the suspect and found out that he was involved with breaking and entering incidents. Suspect was placed under arrest for B&E of a motor vehicle

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 6:00PM (07/02) and 5:00AM (07/03) – Eliot Crescent

Suspect broke into the motor vehicle by smashing the rear vent window. The car was parked at the Heath School Parking lot.

  • Occurred at 2:33AM (07/04) – 1651 Beacon Street

Victim reported that shortly after closing his store he found damage done to the main entrance door of his business. The suspect appeared to have hit the glass hard enough to cause it to crack. Suspect is charged with Malicious Destruction of Property over $250.

  • Occurred between 9:00PM (07/03) and 1:20PM (07/04) – 60 Babcock Street

Victim reported that the driver’s side rear window had been smashed. It appears nothing was removed from the vehicle and all her doors were still locked.

  • Occurred between 12:30AM (07/05) and 9:38AM (07/05) – Walnut Place

Victim reports that sometime overnight someone dumped green paint onto his front door and front steps.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred at 12:01AM (07/04) – 217 Kent Street

Suspect broke into the motor vehicle by smashing the front passenger side window. Items missing from the car included an I-Pod which was concealed and mounting dock. The mounting dock was left plugged into the cigarette lighter in plain view.

  • Occurred 5:00 AM (07/07) and 5:52AM (07/07) – Baker CR

Suspect reports seeing a black male enter and exit both parked vehicles at her home. There appears to be nothing missing from the vehicles.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 12:01AM (07/04) and 1:30PM (07/04) – Baker Circle

Victim reported that sometime overnight someone entered his unlocked motor vehicle in his driveway and removed approximately $600 in cash. Nothing else appeared to be taken.

  • Occurred between 11:30AM (07/03) and 2:45PM (07/03) – 306 Harvard Street

Store Manager reports that after returning to the sales floor he observed several shelves of children’s clothing articles missing from the rear of the Baby Gap Store. The store manager believes that the suspect(s) may have exited through the rear door towards the Centre St. parking lot. In all 116 items were stolen and valued at $2577.

  • Occurred at 6:56PM (07/06) – 1 Robinson Playground

Victim’s wallets and cell phones were stolen from a bench beside the basketball court. Both Victims’ witnessed two black males in their late teens to early 20’s take their belongings and run away.

  • Occurred at 9:18PM (07/06) – Boylston Street/ High Street

Witness reported seeing two white males get out of their vehicle to grab a highway “bump” sign and put it in their car. The car is described as a 2008 white Nissan Altima.

Bike Theft

  • Occurred between 10:00AM (07/04) and 1:30PM (07/04) – 65 Colbourne

Victim reports sometime in the afternoon her bike was stolen from an open garage. The bike is described as a 1995 purple Bianchi Hybrid, 15 speed ladies’ bicycle. It has purple handlebar extensions, with a black bell on the left side of the handlebars. The bike has a rear seat bike rack, with a new rear tire and a new black seat. There should be a sticker from the bike shop on the base of the frame. The approximate value of the bike is $300.00.

Graffiti

  • Occurred between 1:00AM (07/04) and 8:54AM (07/05) – 1571 Beacon Street

Officers observed numerous graffiti tags that had been written on the walls of 1571 Beacon Street. Buildings in the surrounding area as well as cars parked at the rear of 1571 were also found with graffiti tags. All of the tags were done in either blue or black magic marker. The marks contained many obscene words and phrases.
