8:30PM- A package theft was reported at the Brookline Police
Station. The complainant, residing on
Juniper Street stated on 10/23 he placed an order for an electronic device. The next day he received an email that the
package had been shipped. He received a
notification on 10/26 that the package had been delivered at 10:14AM. When he went to retrieve the package the
following morning it was not there. The
apartment building has a locked front vestibule door. This case is being investigated.

Tuesday, November 8th
1:05PM- Officers were dispatched to Davis Avenue for a
report of graffiti on a building. The
property manager of the building told officers that when he left for work
Wednesday evening around 5:00PM he didn’t see any damages to the building. When he arrived at work on Thursday morning
around 9:00AM he noticed pink graffiti on the outside wall of the
building. This case is under
investigation.

Monday, November 5th
12:30PM- A larceny report was made on Heath Street. A student reported losing his credit card on
11/1 around 8:00PM. On Friday 11/2 he
received an email that his card was found by another student and had been
turned in. On Saturday 11/3 he found
that charges were made to his card. He
contacted one of the companies the items were purchased from. He was able to find out the name of the
people the packages were addressed to. The
name on the package corresponded with the name of the student who turned in the
card. The other name on the package was the suspect’s boyfriend. This case is under investigation.
5:00PM- Officers were dispatched to Dean Road for a report
of a larceny. The victim stated she and
her boyfriend parked her boyfriend’s car on Linden Place around 11:00AM. She remembers leaving her wallet in the
middle console just underneath the gear shift prior to leaving the
vehicle. When they returned to the
vehicle around 12:00PM they discovered the wallet was missing. This case is being investigated.

Sunday, November 4th
11:34AM- An individual reported his motorcycle stolen at the
Brookline Police Department. An officer
first checked the system to see if the car had been towed. The reporting party relayed that his client
allows him to park his motorcycle in the buildings rear parking lot located on
Vernon Street. The gray Yamaha Sport
motorcycle had been parked there since 10/30 and he last saw it on 11/3 around
4:00PM. On 11/4 around 10:00AM he
discovered the motorcycle was missing.
This case is under investigation.
1:00PM- Officers were dispatched to Beacon Street for a
larceny report. The complainant reported
that on 11/29 around 1:00PM she was getting ready to leave her home and took
off her rings. When she was leaving a maintenance
worker arrived to complete a job she requested.
The worker told her she did not have to be present for the job so she
left the home. When she returned around
4:00PM she noticed her rings were gone.
She spent a week looking for them and had assistance going so. She was unable to find them. This case is being investigated.
Saturday, November 3rd
2:28PM- Officers responded to Fisher Avenue for a report of
a broken window in a town owned building.
Upon arrival an officer observed a broken window on the southward side
of the building. It appeared to have
been lifted a quarter of the way in an attempt to gain entry. A padlock was observed along with a beer can
and shards of broken glass on the floor inside the building. Blood was observed on the floor where it appears
the assailant cut them self on the shattered window while trying to gain access
to the building. This case is case is
being investigated.
Friday, November 2nd
6:30AM- An officer was dispatched
to Walcott Road for a report of a break, entering and larceny from a motor
vehicle. The reporting party reported
that at 1:00AM on 11/2 he parked his vehicle in his driveway. That same morning at 5:00AM he went to his
vehicle and found that his bicycle which was in the back seat was missing. This case is under investigation.
9:49AM- A package theft
incident was reported on Egmont Street.
The complainant reported to an officer that at 3:00PM when her daughter
came home from school she saw two packages in the vestibule addressed to
them. The daughter was unable to pick
them up at the time so she left them there for her mother to pick up. When the mother and daughter arrived home
around midnight the packages were gone.
This case is being investigated.
6:43PM- A report was made at the station for a stolen
motor vehicle from the rear lot of a car company on Commonwealth Avenue. The reporting party stated her car broke down
and she got it towed to a car company.
When she contacted the company to check on her vehicle she was told they
did not have her vehicle. She contacted
the tow company who informed her that they put her vehicle in the rear lot of a
different car repair company. The
reporting party then called that company who denied having the vehicle. This case is under investigation.

Wednesday, October 31st
9:03AM- Officers were dispatched to Carlton Street for a
report of an egged house. The reporting
party, owner of the home stated when he woke up in the morning he noticed
broken eggs on his front porch and on the front of his house. He reported arriving home the prior night
around 10:00PM and not seeing any eggs or damage at that time. This case is under investigation.
3:06PM- Officers responded to a call of an erratic operator
in the area of Kent Street and Aspinwall Avenue. An off duty officer observed a male riding a
scooter without a helmet on driving on and off a sidewalk on Kent Street, turn
right onto Aspinwall Avenue without stopping at the red light, not yielding to
oncoming traffic when crossing the intersection on Saint Paul Street and
failing to stop at a stop sign. The
officer dispatched the description of the subject to officers as he followed
the subject. Another officer observed
the subject driving on the sidewalk on Harvard Street and exited the car to
pursue the subject on foot. He
approached the subject and asked to speak to him. The subject then drove the scooter off the
sidewalk and up Harvard Avenue in the wrong direction. The direction the suspect was heading was
radioed to officers in the area. The subject
was observed driving behind a home on Harvard Street and continuing onto
Harvard Place. He then jumped off the
scooter, threw it to the ground and ran through Pierce Playground. Officers responded to the area to locate the
subject. Officers observed the subject
running in a backyard. Officers
surrounded the backyard and called out “if you are back here show us your hands”. Officers received no response. The subject was found hiding under a black
SUV in a parking lot and arrested. Officers asked if he was in possession of
anything harmful and the subject responded no.
Boston Police and a Boston Police K9 assisted with the investigation. The
scooter was found to be stolen. The
subject is being charged with operating to endanger, right on red violation, operating
a moped without a helmet, failure to yield to oncoming traffic, failure to stop
at a stop sign, failure to stop for a police officer, operating a moped without
a driver’s license, and larceny of property.
8:30PM- A report of a stolen package was made on Euston
Street. The victim reported receiving a
text from his neighbor that a package was stolen from the front door of their
home. The neighbor stated he arrived home
to a package opened with the contents removed.
The victim’s wife received confirmation that a package they ordered was
delivered but when the husband arrived home he could not locate a package. Video surveillance caught the theft. This case is under investigation.
- The victim also reported a stolen bicycle. He stated that he went on vacation on 9/20/18 and returned on 10/2/18. He reports when he returned home his bicycle was no longer attached to a fence. The bike had been locked to the fence with a Kryptonite lock. The fence was cut and the bike and lock were removed and stolen. The bicycle is described as a silver men’s Trek. This case is being investigated.

Tuesday, October 30th
5:10PM- An officer was dispatched to the Evelyn Kirrane Aquatic
Center on Tappan Street for a report of indecent exposure that occurred earlier
in the day. The director informed the
officer that a witness observed another patron who is a Brookline resident inappropriately
exposing himself. The witness reported
that around 6:30AM while conducting a morning swim he observed an older white
male in the swimming area standing by the pool wall facing the stands. He later noticed the older male had moved to
the other end of the pool and was swimming.
As the witness approached the end of the pool he viewed the older male’s
swimming trunks down around his knees and he was inappropriately touching
himself. The reporting party notified
the life guard and front desk staff about his observations and when he returned
the older male had already exited the pool.
The older male was identified and contacted. He is being charged with Open and Gross and
this matter is still under investigation.
A report was made
of an animal bite on Fuller Street. The reporting party stated he was
walking on Fuller Street, approaching Harvard Street. He crossed paths
with a person walking several dogs. He recalls one of the dogs biting him
on the left leg. Out of the group of dogs he remembers which dog was the
aggressor. He told the dog walker about the biting incident and police
are conducting an investigation.
Monday, October 29th
A string of graffiti tags occurred over the weekend and were
reported on Monday:

An officer was dispatched to Boylston Street for
a graffiti complaint. He observed
graffiti in black spray paint on the front of the building. The owner reported on 10/27/18 that he closed
his workshop around 5:00PM and the graffiti was not there.

Another officer responded to a different
location on Boylston Street for a graffiti complaint of two black graffiti tags
spray painted on garage doors. The tags
were the same as that of the previous complaint.

Three other locations on Boylston Street were observed
to be tagged and were photographed by officers.
These cases are under investigation.
Monday, October 29, 2018
Saturday, October 27th
10:04AM- Officers were dispatched to Mason Terrace for a
bike theft report. The reporting party
stated sometime between 8:00PM on 10/26/18 and 9:00AM on 10/27/18 someone
entered the bulkhead doors in the back of their house that leads to storage
space and took one of the bicycles. The
bicycle is described as a red 2018 Santa Cruz 5010 C S 27.5. This case is being investigated.
11:20AM- Officers responded to Egmont Street for a break and
entering and larceny that had occurred between 10:45PM on 10/26/18 and 2:00AM
on 10/27/18. The residents reported
leaving their apartment around 10:45PM on 10/26/18 with locked doors and
windows. One resident stated they all
noticed their things were missing the morning of 10/27/18 when they woke up. Each of the three residents reported items
missing. This case is under
investigation.
11:47AM- Brookline Police received a report of
shoplifting. The suspect was described as
black female, older, glasses, blonde tips on her hair, wearing brown coat,
carrying a big green shopping bag and walking with a cane. When officers arrived a short time later the
suspect had already left the store in an unknown direction. The reporting employee stated when the women
entered the store she recognized her from previous shoplifting incidents. She went to notify the supervisor and when
she returned she witnessed the suspect place items into her green bag. She confronted the suspect and received no
response. The suspect then exited the
store. This case is under investigation.
Thursday, October 25th
12:14PM- A dog bite complaint was made for an incident that
occurred on 10/24/18 around 10:30AM. The
reporting party reported walking her dog through Harry Downs Field when she saw
another individual with her dog playing fetch with a ball. The Reporting party walked over to the person
and greeted her. The other dog owner petted
the reporting party’s dog. She reported
observing the other dog charge back towards their direction with the ball and
attack her dog. She tried to separate
the two and claimed her hand was bitten in the process. An officer spoke with the other individual
who claimed while she was playing fetch with her dog the reporting party’s dog
ran over to her dog and tried to grab the ball out of her dog’s mouth. The reporting party tried to separate the two
and claimed she was bitten but put her hand in her pocket and denied
assistance. The officer was unable to determine
which dog was the aggressor. Both dog
owners were advised their dogs will be subject to a 10 day quarantine.
An officer was conducting a follow up for the graffiti
incidents that took place in the Brookline Village area on 10/19/18. While trying to retrace the suspect’s path
the officer discovered the same tag spray painted on three other
locations. This case is under
investigation.

Tuesday, October 23rd
10:46AM- An officer was dispatched to Winthrop Road for a
bike theft report. The officer was met
by the father of the victim on arrival.
He states his son’s bike was stolen off their property. The son was contacted by phone by the
officer. The son stated on 10/22/18
around 5:00PM he left his Ultegra black bike unsecured outside of his garage
door. On 10/23/18 around 7:00AM he
noticed the bike was missing. This case
is being investigated.
11:57AM- The reporting party stated on 10/23/18 around
12:00AM a package was delivered and left in the foyer of the building he lived
in on Naples Road. He reported arriving
home at 8:00PM and discovering the package was missing. This case is under investigation.
4:50PM- Officers responded to Boylston Street for a shoplifting
incident. The owner of the store
targeted told an officer he was in the store when a male entered around
4:40PM. The male looks at several items
and asked questions about the merchandise while wearing a hood covering his
head and looking down. The owner
recognized him as he had come by the store several times this year to sell
merchandise. The owner described that
this time the subject appeared suspicious with his face hidden by the hood and
the lack of eye contact. A few minutes
later the subject grabbed several items and ran out of the store. The owner ran after him and observed the
suspect running west on Boylston Street and enter a black vehicle and drive
west on Boylston Street. The suspect is
described as a dark skinned black male, approximately 6’1”-6’2”, around 17 or
18 years of age, thin build, light facial hair on the chin and lip, braces,
wearing a black Adidas track/windbreaker with white stripes on the arms,
black/blue/white Air Jordan sneakers and skinny jeans with torn front pant
legs. This case is being investigated.

Sunday, October 21st
11:22AM- Police received a call for a possible attempted
break and entering on Arlington Road.
The reporting party stated on Thursday 10/18/18 his wife noticed that
one of the screens on their screened in porch appeared to be ripped. They had just had all their screens replaced
this summer. The husband noticed the
screen door was latched from the outside which they never do unless they are in
the yard. He also noticed a door in the
basement was ajar and sandbags placed in front of the door were slightly
moved. An officer confirmed the attempted
entry by the visual damage and moved sandbags.
Saturday, October 20th
Three graffiti reports were made.
An officer was dispatched to Station Street where he
observed a graffiti tag in pink spray paint.
Another officer was dispatched to White Place where she observed
graffiti in pink spray paint on the side of a building. An officer responded to Harvard Street where a
word spray painted in black on a green generator on the side of a building was
observed. All of these cases are under
investigation.

Wednesday, October 17th
3:30AM- Officers were dispatched to Brookline Place for a larceny. They were met by a security officer who reported seeing through surveillance footage a white male coming out of the garage and dropping two duffel bags full of copper near the construction site. He then walked away from the garage near Brookline Avenue. Due to several thefts of construction equipment Police have been patrolling the area. It appears the suspect saw the police car when he exited the garage and dropped the bags. An officer saw an individual matching the suspect’s description on Kent Street and pursed him unsuccessfully. The officer recognized him as a known individual. His description was radioed to other officers. Boston Police and a K-9 were involved in the pursuit on the MBTA Green Line. At 5:00AM a State Trooper responded to the area around the suspected individuals address to see if he was in the area and if he matched the description of the suspect. The suspect spotted a state police officer and ran into his home. After trying to make contact with him by knocking and calling his name for about 40 minutes the suspect attempted to flee through a rear window where he was detained. He was asked if he had stolen copper from a construction site in which he responded yes. During questioning at the Police Station the subject admitted to the theft. The follow up investigation resulted in a search warrant being executed at the subject’s residence. The search resulted in the recovery of construction tools. Any construction workers in the area who may have missing tools should stop by the station to see if we’ve recovered any of yours. The suspect is being charged with breaking and entering at night to commit a felony, larceny from a building and trespassing.
7:38AM- An officer was dispatched to Winthrop Road for a
burglary. The reporting party and her
mother reported being away from home for a while. When they returned they found items were
missing. Maintenance, cleaning staff and
health aides has had access to the home.
This case is under investigation.
5:00PM- A report of a larceny was made on Harvard
Street. The store manager relayed to
officers that around 3:57PM she was on the sales floor and recognized a female individual
from a previous shoplifting incident.
She asked the individual if she needed assistance in which the response “no”
was given. The manager then observed the
individual being approached by another female who placed several items into the
recognized female’s hands. The two
females stayed in the store for about ten more minutes and then exited without
paying. They were observed taking a
specific bus route. The manager
described both females to officers. This
case is being investigated.
6:29PM- Officers were dispatched to Chapel Street for a report of an animal bite. The complainant reported leaving her building from a rear exit when her neighbor’s dog came toward her and bit her right leg just above her ankle. Officers observed a two inch scratch that had penetrated the skin. At the time, the dog was being walked by a dog walker who refused to give her name and left the scene. The dog was described as a small black and white dog that she knows belongs to her neighbor. An officer tried to speak with the neighbor but she was not home. This case is under investigation.
11:42- Officers responded to Harvard Street for a shoplifting
incident. The reporting party stated while
he was in the back of the store around 11:40 two males and a female entered the
store. He viewed one male putting an unknown
amount of candy in his jacket pocket and the other male putting candy down his
pants. The female exited the store. The employee confronted the males and they
denied taking items and exited the store toward Commonwealth Avenue. This case is being investigated.

Tuesday, October 16th
5:11PM- Officers were dispatched to Hancock Road for a break
and entering and larceny of property.
When officers arrived on scene they were met by two victims who reported
upon their return from being away they found their home had been broken
into. Since 10/2/18 around 8:00AM their
home had been unoccupied. Officers
determined after processing the scene that the lock of the front door had been
broken and force was used to open the door.
An attempt to gain entry was made through two windows which displayed
damage. Three bedrooms were targeted
having shown dresser drawers and shelves rummaged through and items strewn around
the rooms. This case is under
investigation.
5:45PM- Officers responded to Harvard Street for a
shoplifting incident. An officer spoke
with the store manager who relayed that he observed the suspect placing items
in their bag. He confronted the suspect
and requested they pay for the items they took.
The suspect then exited the store without paying. The suspect then fled on foot northbound on
Harvard Street. The suspect was
described as a black individual, possibly female, with long black hair, black
facial hair appearing to have been shaved recently, wearing a black suit with
red stripes, carrying a denim messenger bag and weighing about 150lbs. The manager believed the individual was
transgender. A customer in the store
approached officers and notified them that he witnessed the suspect run back
into the store’s parking lot and entered a car of which he took a picture of and
the license plate. The vehicles
description and license plate was broadcasted to responding units. After, running the license plate officers
found the car was owned by a rental company.
By contacting the company, the renters name was provided, which was a
traditional female name. The name
yielded negative results for any matching individual or driver’s license. An officer then searched the address on the
license in which a person with a different first name and sex but same last
name appeared also having the same date of birth. This license showed a black male with long
straight hair and black facial hair. Officers
believed that the person in the photo was possibly transgender. The difference in sexes and name change
describes a transitioning male and explains why the vehicle was rented to a
female. A photo array was compiled for
the store manager. The officers
conducting the array had no knowledge of the appearance of the suspected
individual. The manager chose the
suspect out of the array. The suspect
will be summonsed to court.

Monday, October 15th
12:30PM- Officers were dispatched to Brookline Place for a
report of a larceny. An officer was met
by the company manager who stated in the past few weeks employees in the office
had reported items missing including money.
He had spoken with employees of other offices in the building who stated
the same things had been occurring there.
This case is under investigation.
3:30PM- A report of a package theft was made on Hamilton
Road. The reporting party reported to an
officer that she ordered an item. The
item had a tracking number and was delivered at approximately 1:00PM on 10/5/18. She returned home at 6:00PM and the package
was not there. This case is being
investigated.
5:33PM- A malicious damage report was made on Parkman
Street. An officer spoke with the
complainant who stated he parked his vehicle in the rear of an apartment
complex on Parkman Street on 10/13/18 at 2:00AM. When he returned to his vehicle on 10/15/18
he noticed the passenger side door had been keyed. An officer observed the scratch to be a
deliberate marking made with a key. This
case is under investigation.
10:19PM- A call was received from Greenough Street for a
report of a break and entering. The home
owners relayed to officers that they were out of town since 10/11/18. When they arrived home they noticed dresser
drawers in the bedroom opened and contents strewn about. They immediately exited the house and called
police. Officers arrived and noticed a
window was forced open and the lock was broken.
Drawers were open, bags were gone through and items were scattered on
the floor. This case is being
investigated.
Monday, October 15, 2018
Sunday, October 14th
1:15 AM- Officers responded to Weybridge Road for a report
of a break and entering. The reporting
party reported leaving the residence at 6:05 PM on 10/13/18. He and his wife returned home at 11:30
PM. He noticed items were missing,
moved, and a window sustained damage.
Officers determined the burglar made entry through a window and fled
through a door. This case is being
investigated.
8:47 AM- Officers were dispatched to Beacon Street to
investigate a theft of a bicycle. The reporting
party led an officer to a location opposite an apartment of Strathmore Road
where the bicycle had been locked. It
had been locked to a town line pole. He
reported locking the bike to the pole on 10/12/18 around 5:00 PM. He was away over the weekend and discovered
the bike missing on the morning of 10/14/18.
After taking a look at the title officers determined the theft was of a motorcycle. A multi-tool was found on the ground. This case is under investigation.
A larceny report was made at the station. The complainant stated approximately two
weeks ago he and his family put an inflatable pumpkin on their lawn. Sometime between 10:00 PM on 10/13/18 and
8:00 AM on 10/14/18 the pumpkin was stolen.
Friday, October 12th
7:28 PM- A report of a larceny was made at an establishment
on Commonwealth Avenue. An officer spoke
with the manager who stated he was approached by an individual in regards to
money that went missing on 10/10/18. An
officer then spoke to the complainant who reported entering the establishment
on 10/10/18 around 2:20 PM to work out.
She reported placing her items in a locker room but did not lock it
because the business was “empty”. When
she finished her work out and left around 4:00 PM she noticed money was
missing. This case is under
investigation.
Thursday, October 11th
A report of a larceny of a scooter was made on Fairbanks
Street. An officer met with the
reporting party who stated he parked his scooter across the street from his
building and used a chain to secure it to a small tree. He last saw it on 10/9/18 around 7:00 PM. He noticed it was gone on 10/10/18 around
9:00 AM. The scooter is described as a
Genuine Scooter, roughhouse model that is red with an MIT faculty sticker on
the rear. This case is under investigation.
3:50 PM- Officers were dispatched to Harvard Street for a shoplifting
incident. The store manager relayed to
officers that an employee notified him that a female was placing items into her
bag. The suspect attempted to exit the
store after passing the registers. The
manager stopped the suspect and asked if she was going to pay for the items in
her bag in which she responded she didn’t have anything to pay with. The manager asked the suspect to empty her
bag of the items she stole and she complied.
Police placed her under arrest for shoplifting. Some of the items in the bag were not
identified by the store manager as their products. Officers went to surrounding stores that
could possibly sell the items unaccounted for and asked the managers if they
could identify the items as theirs and if an individual matching the suspect had
been in their stores. One store was able
to confirm the suspect’s presence and the items. The other store confirmed their store sells
the items but could not determine if the suspect had been in the store. The suspect is being criminally charged.
