Police Reports 5/23-5/24

Sector 1

Bike Theft: Between 5/23 and 5/24- Harvard St.

An individual reported the larceny of a bicycle. The victim stated that he locked his bike to the bike rack at the Devotion School. When he returned the next morning he discovered that his bike was missing.

Sector 3

Arrest: 5/24 at 6:26 AM- Beacon St.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had a warrant out of Cambridge District Court. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Beacon St. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Sector 4

Operating after Revocation: 5/23 at 4:30 PM- Boylston St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A query revealed that the driver had a revoked license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation.

Sector 5

Bike Theft: 5/23 between 7:30 AM and 1:00 PM- Lowell Rd.

An individual reported the larceny of a bicycle. The victim stated that he locked his bike to a street sign in the area of Lowell Rd. When he returned several hours later he discovered that his bike was missing.

Police Report 5/22-5/23

Operating after Suspension: 5/23 at 9:48 AM- Harvard St. / Beacon St.

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn in the area of Harvard Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 1

Moped Theft: Between 5/21 and 5/22- Dwight St.

An individual reported the theft of a motorized scooter. The victim stated that he locked his scooter to a fence in the area of Dwight St. on 5/21. When he returned the next day he discovered that his scooter was missing.

Bike Theft: Between 5/21 and 5/22- Fuller St.

An individual reported the theft of a bicycle. The victim stated that she left the bicycle unlocked on a porch in the area of Fuller St. on 5/21. When she returned the next day she discovered that the bicycle had been stolen.

Sector 9

Operating after Suspension: 5/23 at 8:16 AM- Princeton Rd. / Rangeley Rd.

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal left turn from Lagrange St. onto Rangeley Rd. The officer initiated a traffic stop at Princeton Rd. and Rangeley Rd. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Police Reports 5/21-5/22

Arrest: 5/22 at 6:10 AM- Chelsea, MA

Officers arrested an individual in Chelsea on a warrant out of Brookline District Court. The subject also had a warrant out of South Boston District Court.

Sector 4

OUIL: 5/22 at 1:52 AM- Washington St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with a defective headlight. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. Upon reaching the vehicle the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the driver. Based on the observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

MV Theft: 5/21 at 11:37 PM- Boylston St.

An individual reported the larceny of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that he parked his vehicle in the area of Boylston St. at approximately 9:00 PM on 5/21. When he returned he discovered that his vehicle was missing.

Sector 1

Arrest: 5/21 at 6:04 AM- St. Paul St.

An individual was arrested on a warrant out of Brighton District Court.

Bike Theft: Between 5/7 and 5/13- Beacon St.

An individual reported the larceny of a bicycle. The victim stated that she last saw her bicycle locked to a building on Beacon St. on 5/7 before she left town for a short trip. When she returned she discovered that her bicycle was missing.

Sector 4

MV Theft: 5/20 at 3:21 PM- Cypress St.

The employee of a car dealership reported the theft of a motor vehicle. The employee stated that a male individual entered the business and asked to test drive a motor vehicle. The subject left the business with a vehicle and after several hours, the employee attempted to contact the subject with negative results.

Sector 1

Larceny: 5/19 between 12:00 and 1:00 PM- Commonwealth Ave.

An individual reported a larceny from his locker at a gym on Commonwealth Ave. The victim stated that he placed his belongings in a locker, and when he returned he discovered that someone had stolen a debit card and cash.

Police Reports 5/16-5/19

Larceny: Between 5/16 and 5/18- Cedar Rd.

An individual reported the larceny of eight plants worth $695 from the front of his residence on Cedar Rd.

Sector 1

Shoplifting: 5/16 at 9:49 AM- Commonwealth Ave.

A CVS employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that two suspects were captured on video surveillance placing items into a bag and leaving the store without paying. Suspect #1 was described as a white male, 30-40 years of age, dark hair with receding hairline, wearing a black T-shirt with logo, baggy jeans, black sneakers and carrying a black jacket. Suspect #2 was described as white male, 30's, wearing a dark jacket, jeans, and black footwear. A search of the area for the suspects yielded negative results.

Larceny: 5/16 between 3:30 and 5:00 PM- Commonwealth Ave.

A gas station employee reported the larceny of his laptop. The victim stated that he left his laptop unattended on a store counter for a short time. When he returned he discovered that someone had taken the computer. An individual was later arrested for Receiving Stolen Property and Larceny from a Building after he attempted to return the items to the store.

Larceny: 5/16 at 6:00 PM- Babcock St.

An individual reported the larceny of a backpack. The victim stated that she placed her backpack on the sidewalk in front of her building unattended for approximately five minutes. When she returned she discovered that someone had stolen her bag. Stolen along with the backpack were electronics and personal papers.

Bike Theft: Between 5/14 and 5/17- Thorndike St.

An individual reported the larceny of his bicycle.  The victim stated that he left his bicycle unlocked on the side of his residence on Thorndike St. When he returned several days later, he discovered that his bike was missing.

Sector 4

Dangerous Weapon: 5/16 at 10:04 PM- Washington St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling without a valid inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. A query revealed that the driver had a revoked license. A search of the driver produced a switch blade knife over 1.5 inches that is classified as a dangerous weapon. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon.

Sector 5

Larcenies: Between 5/15 and 5/16- Greenough St. / Tappan St.

Several Brookline High School students reported larcenies of personal belongings from the auditorium area and the boy’s locker room. Two students reported their cell phones stolen from outside the auditorium. Three students reported personal belongings including an iPad, calculator and a backpack missing from three separate lockers in the boy’s locker room. Locks were cut off lockers in each case.

Police Reports 5/14-5/16

Not Duly Licensed: 5/16 at 12:30 AM- Boylston St.

An officer observed a vehicle travel through a solid red light. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A query revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Sector 2

Burglary Arrest: 5/14 at 3:45 PM- Brookline Pl.

Officers received the report of a suspect fleeing from the site of a commercial breaking and entering. The reporting party stated that she observed the suspect remove items from an office on Brookline Pl., at which point the suspect pushed the witness out of the way and fled toward Washington St. Officers were able to stop an individual in the area that matched the description. The witness positively identified the individual as the suspect. The suspect was arrested for B&E, Larceny from a Building, Assault and Battery, Receiving Stolen Property, and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon.

Sector 3

Burglary: 5/14 between 2:00 and 5:45 PM- Harvard St.

A Harvard St. resident reported a breaking and entering. The victim reported that when he returned to his apartment he discovered a living room window was slightly ajar. Several laptops and spare change were reported stolen from the residence. It appeared that entry was gained through a living room window.

Sector 4

Arrest: 5/16 at 2:13 AM- Harvard St. / Webster St.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had an active warrant. The officer initiated a traffic stop at Harvard Street and Webster Street. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for the warrant out of Roxbury District Court.

Operating after Suspension: 5/16 at 12:14 PM- Washington St.

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 5

Larceny: 5/15 between 7:15 and 8:15 PM- Tappan St.

An individual reported the larceny of his iPhone from his backpack while he was playing basketball at a gym on Tappan St.

Larceny: 5/15 between 2:45 and 9:30 PM- Tappan St.

An individual reported the larceny of his iPad from a locker at a gym on Tappan St.

Operating after Suspension: 5/16 at 3:36 AM- Boylston St. / Chestnut Hill Ave

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 6

OUIL: 5/15 at 11:15 PM- Boylston St. / Hammond St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was also traveling at nighttime without any lights. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. at Hammond St. Upon reaching the vehicle the officer could detect an odor of alcohol emanating from the driver. Based on the observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

Sector 8

Operating after Suspension: 5/16 at 8:32 AM- Lee St. / Clyde St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with an expired registration sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop at Lee St. and Clyde St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 1

Larceny: 5/13 at 9:50 PM- Dwight St.

An individual reported the larceny of a town of Brookline recycling bin from the front of his residence on Dwight St.

Bike Theft: Between 5/12 and 5/13- Brookline Ave.

An individual reported the larceny of a bicycle. The victim stated that she locked her bicycle to a bus stop sign on Brookline Ave. at approximately 11:30 PM on 5/12. When she returned the next day she discovered that the bike was missing,

Not Duly Licensed: 5/14 at 11:44 AM- Washington St.

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal left turn onto Washington St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. A query revealed that the driver had an expired license. The driver was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Shoplifting: 5/14 at 12:23 PM- Beacon St.

A Trader Joe’s employee reported a shoplifter. The employee stated that she observed two individuals leave the store without paying for items. Officers were able to stop two individuals in the area who matched the description. The employee positively identified the subjects and they were placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

B&E MV: Between 4/29 and 4/30- Ivy St.

An individual reported a larceny from her motor vehicle. The victim stated that sometime between 10:20 AM on 4/29 and 1:30 AM on 4/30, a school bag was removed from the passenger seat of her vehicle. The vehicle was parked in the area of Ivy St. A broken door prevented her from locking the car.

Operating after Suspension: 5/11 at 10:52 PM- Walnut St. / Oakland Rd.

An officer observed a vehicle travel through a red light. The officer initiated a traffic stop at Walnut St. and Oakland Rd. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 1

Larceny Arrest: 5/11 at 1:30 PM- Beacon St.

An individual reported the larceny of a laptop and an iPhone from a restaurant on Beacon St. The reporting party stated that a female subject came to the restaurant for a job interview. Prior to leaving the restaurant the female subject was seen on surveillance stealing the laptop and cell phone from a counter. A warrant was issued for the female subject and she was placed under arrest on 5/13 on Boylston St. in Boston.

Bike Theft: 5/10 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM- Beacon St.

An individual reported the larceny of a bicycle. The victim stated that he locked his bike to a rack on Beacon St. When he returned he discovered that the bike was missing.

Sector 4

Bike Theft: Between 5/8 and 5/10- Cypress St.

An individual reported the larceny of a bicycle. The victim stated that she locked her bike to the front porch of her residence. When she returned she discovered that the bike was missing.

Operating after Revocation: 5/11 at 5:19 PM- Hammond St. / Laurel Rd.

An officer observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Laurel Rd. A query revealed that the driver had a revoked license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation.

Not Duly Licensed: 5/13 at 1:36 AM- Boylston St. / Lee St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Boylston and Lee St.  A query revealed that the driver did not have a valid driver’s license. The operator was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Not Duly Licensed: 5/9 at 6:53 PM- Harvard St. / Beacon St.

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal left turn. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Beacon St. A query revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Arrest: 5/10 at 3:11 AM- Babcock St. / Commonwealth Ave.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that it was traveling with a rejected inspection sticker. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Babcock Street at Commonwealth Avenue. A further query revealed that the driver had a suspended license and a warrant for his arrest. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension and the warrant. An inventory search of the vehicle produced a stun gun. The driver was additionally charged with Possession of a Stun Gun/Taser.

Sector 4

Arrest: 5/9 at 7:32 PM- Washington St.

A query revealed that a vehicle’s registration was revoked and that the registered owner had a suspended license. The query also revealed that the registered owner had a warrant out of Boston District Court. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension and the warrant.

Sector 5

Bike Theft: 5/7 between 2:00 and 11:00 PM- Tappan St.

An individual reported the theft of a bicycle. The victim stated that he locked his bike to a rack at the Brookline Hills MBTA Station at 2:00 PM on 5/7. When he returned he discovered that someone had cut the lock and stolen the bicycle.

Sector 8

Arrest: 5/9 at 6:52 PM- Tully St. / Boylston St.

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license and a warrant out of Malden District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension and the warrant.

Sector 2

Bike Theft: Between 5/7 and 5/8- Aspinwall Ave.

An individual reported the theft of a bicycle. The victim stated that she last saw her bicycle locked to her front porch on 5/7 at 7:00 PM. When she returned the next morning she discovered that someone had broken off a piece of the porch and stole the bicycle.

Bike Theft: Between 5/7 and 5/8- Aspinwall Ave.

An individual reported the theft of a bicycle. The victim stated that she last saw her bicycle locked to a tree on 5/7 at 6:00 PM. When she returned the next morning she discovered that her bike was missing.

#Fenway/ Muddy River Project update

The #Fenway/ Muddy River Project has provided us with the following information. Included is a work description and a schedule of the work. At this time the impact to Brookline residents appears to be minimal



Exploratory test pits will be dug on Brookline Ave between Riverway and Park Drive in order to locate a 12" & 48" water main which are to be relocated at a future date and to locate 51" & 45" drainage pipes which will be rerouted into the new future culvert. This work will be performed at night from 8:00 pm to 4:30 am. Brookline Ave will have single and double lane closures. There will be periods where Brookline will be shut down with traffic going inbound will be detoured to the Jug Handle and traffic outbound will be detoured around the Sears Rotary.

Police Reports 5/7-5/8

Larceny: 5/7 between 5:15 and 7:30 PM- Lawrence Playground

An individual reported the larceny of a purse. The victim stated that she placed her purse down on the ground while supervising a baseball practice. When the practice was over the victim discovered that her purse was missing. Stolen along with the purse was a cell phone, credit cards, keys, and personal papers.

Arrest: 5/8 at 12:37 AM- Beacon St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Beacon St. A query revealed that the driver had a warrant out of South Boston District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Sector 7

Bike Theft: 5/7 between 7:00 and 9:00 AM- Kennard Rd.

An individual reported the larceny of a bicycle. The victim stated that he left his bicycle unsecured against the bike rack at the Lincoln Elementary School. When he returned the bicycle was missing.

Police Reports 5/6-5/7

Burglary Arrest: 5/6 at 12:41 PM- Brookline Pl.

An individual reported the theft of a guitar and music equipment from a Pine Manor College dorm room. The victim was able to locate his stolen property in a music store in Boston. Store employees were able to provide detectives with information on the individual who sold these items. The suspect was located and placed under arrest for Breaking and Entering and Larceny over $250.

Sector 1

Package Theft: 5/6 between 12:00 and 4:30 PM- Fuller St.

An individual reported a package theft from the vestibule of her Fuller St. building. The victim stated that a package was confirmed delivered to her address, but when she returned home she discovered that the package had been ripped open and its contents removed.

Arrest: 5/6 at 9:19 PM- Amory St.

Officers responded to the area of Amory St for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival officers observed an individual attempting to evade the police. A witness told officers that he observed the subject slamming a skateboard into the passenger door of a parked car on Amory St. The subject was placed under arrest for Malicious Damage, Minor in Possession of Alcohol, and Disorderly Conduct.

Sector 2

Attempted Burglary: Between 5/3 and 5/6- Longwood Ave.

An individual reported a residential breaking and entering on Longwood Ave. The victim stated that she left her home on 5/3 at approximately 3:30 PM. When she returned on 5/6 she discovered pry marks on her back door. There were no items missing and it did not appear that entry was gained.

Shoplifting: 5/7 at 1:47 PM- Harvard St.

A Walgreens employee reported a shoplifter. The employee stated that she observed a female subject concealing items in a bag. The subject was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Not Duly Licensed: 5/7 at 6:57 AM- Newton St.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a stop sign. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Newton St. A query revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Warrant Arrest: 5/6 at 6:32 AM- Huntington Ave. / S. Huntington Ave.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with a rejected inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Huntington just before South Huntington Avenue. A query revealed that the driver had a warrant out of Brookline District Court.

Sector 4

Bike Theft: Between 4/26 and 4/27- Fairbanks St.

An individual reported the theft of a bicycle. The victim stated that her bicycle was stolen sometime during the night 4/26 from the common lobby area of her building. The bicycle was left unlocked and there were no signs of forced entry.

OUIL: 5/6 at 1:21 PM- Washington St. / Juniper St.

An officer observed a vehicle swerve and cross over the double yellow lines. The officer initiated a traffic stop in the area of Washington St. and Juniper St. Upon making contact with the driver, the officer could an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person. Based on the observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

Operating after Suspension: 5/6 at 2:21 PM- Newton St.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a stop sign. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Newton St. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 1

Larceny: Between 5/3 and 5/4- Freeman St.

An individual reported the larceny of a new stove from the common area basement in a building on Freeman St. The victim stated that the stove was removed from the box it was delivered in. There were no signs of forced entry.

Larceny: 5/4 between 12:30 and 1:00 PM- Comm. Ave

An individual reported the larceny of $200 USC from her wallet that was left in a restaurant office.

Sector 4

Burglary: 5/3 between 9:29 AM and 5:00 PM- Foster St.

An individual reported a breaking and entering. The victim stated that she left her apartment at approximately 9:20 AM. When she returned around 5:00 PM, she discovered that someone had pried open the front door. An iPad, and two laptops were reported stolen.

Operating after Revocation: 5/3 at 10:35 AM- W. Roxbury Pkwy.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop on West Roxbury Parkway. A query revealed that the driver had a revoked license and a warrant out of West Roxbury District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation and the warrant.

Larceny: 5/2 between 7:00 AM and 5:45 PM- Harvard St.

An individual reported the theft of the front license plate from his motor vehicle. The vehicle was parked on Harvard St.

Sector 3

Arrest: 5/3 at 1:22 PM- Beacon St.

Officers responded to Walgreens for the report of suspicious activity. While questioning an individual, a query revealed that he had warrants out of Dorchester and Boston District Courts. The individual was placed under arrest for the warrants.

Sector 4

Operating after Suspension: 5/2 at 10:24 PM- Marion St. / Harvard St.

A query revealed that a vehicle’s registered owner had a suspended license. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Marion Street and Harvard Street. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 7

Arrest: 5/3 at 12:24 AM- Boylston St. / Milton Rd.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with a defective headlight. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Boylston Street and Milton Road. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license and a warrant out of Waltham District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension and the warrant.

Sector 1

Shoplifting: 5/2 at 10:54 AM- Beacon St.

A CVS employee reported a shoplifter. The employee stated that he observed an individual take items off the shelf and leave the store without paying. Officers were able to locate an individual in the area that matched the description. The employee positively identified the individual as the shoplifter and he was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Sector 2

Shoplifting: 5/1 at 8:17 PM- Beacon St.

A Trader Joe’s employee reported a shoplifter. The employee stated that he observed a female subject conceal items from the store in a purse and attempt to leave without paying. The subject then fled and boarded a Green Line train. An individual matching the description was stopped exiting a Green Line train in the area of Summit Ave. The employee positively identified the subject as the shoplifter and she was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Sector 4

Operating after Suspension: 5/1 at 6:39 PM- Washington St.

An officer observed a vehicle travel through a solid red light on Harvard St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. A query revealed that the operator had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension. The arrestee was also issued a Town By-Law citation for Possession of Marijuana.

Police Reports 4/30-5/1

Arrest: 5/1 at 12:34 AM- Harvard St. / School St.

An officer observed a bicyclist traveling in the wrong direction and without a bike light in the dark, both violations of bicycle traffic laws. As the officer attempted to stop the cyclist, the subject evaded the officer, eventually falling off the bicycle in the area of Harvard St. Upon reaching the subject, the cyclist picked up his bicycle and began to swing it in the direction of the officer. The subject was placed under arrest for Disorderly Person and Resisting Arrest.

Warrant Arrest: 5/1 at 9:56 AM- Babcock St.

An individual was arrested on a warrant out of Lynn District Court.

Bike Theft: 5/1 between 12:00 and 2:00 PM- Babcock St.

An individual reported the theft of a bicycle. The victim stated that he locked his bicycle to a street post on Babcock St. at approximately 12:00 PM. When he returned he discovered that someone had cut the lock and stolen his bicycle.

Moped Theft: Between 4/29 and 4/30- Park St.

An individual reported the theft of his moped. The victim stated that he last saw the motorized scooter at approximately 9:50 PM on 4/29. When he returned the next day the scooter was missing. The scooter had been parked in a rear parking space on Park St. The moped was left unsecured.

Operating after Suspension: 4/30 at 10:58 AM- Corey Rd. / Windsor Rd.

Officers observed a motor vehicle fail to stop for a red light at Washington St. and Corey Road. The officers initiated a traffic stop on Corey Rd. A query revealed that the operator had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.
