Police Reports 2/13-2/14

Sector 2

Shoplifting: 2/13 at 6:35 PM- Beacon St.

A Trader Joe’s employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that two females concealed alcohol and left the store without paying. Officers were able to stop two females in the area that matched the description. The two subjects were positively identified by the employee as the shoplifters. Suspect #1 additionally had a warrant out of Boston District Court. Suspect #1 was placed under arrest for Shoplifting and the warrant. Suspect #2 was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Sector 5

Malicious Damage: 2/14 between 10:00 and 10:15 AM

Three individuals reported malicious damage to their vehicles. The front left tire on each vehicle was slashed as they were parked directly next to each other on Colborne Cr at Addington Rd.

Operating after Suspension: 2/13 at 7:31 PM- Beacon St./Chestnut Hill Ave.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the vehicle was unregistered. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Chestnut Hill Ave. and Beacon St. A further query revealed that the registration was revoked and that the driver had both a suspended license and a warrant out of Brighton District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension and the warrant.

Police Reports 2/12-2/13

Sector 2

Shoplifting: 2/12 at 3:03 PM- Beacon St.

A Trader Joe’s employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that she observed an individual place several items in a bag and leave the store without paying for said items. Officers were able to stop an individual who matched the description in the area. The employee positively identified this individual as the suspect, and she was placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Sector 4

Arrest: 2/13 at 2:03 AM- Washington St./White Pl.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with a broken taillight. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Washington Street and White Place. A query revealed that the driver had two outstanding warrants out of Brighton District Court. The query also revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was placed under arrest for the two warrants and Operating without a License.

Sector 5

Malicious Damage: Between 2/10 and 2/12- Tappan St.

An individual reported malicious damage to her vehicle. The victim stated that sometime between 2/10 and 2/12, unknown person(s) smashed the front windshield, shattered the sunroof, and dented the vehicle. The vehicle was parked on Tappan St.

Police Reports 2/7-2/12

Assault: 2/8 at 5:55 PM- Washington St./Jamaicaway

Officers responded to the area of Washington St. for a report of an assault and battery. The victim stated that she was walking down the street when an unknown male punched her in the side of her face. Officers were able to stop an individual matching the description in the area. While speaking to the individual, the subject lunged at an officer and struck him in the face with a closed fist. The first victim was able to positively identify this individual as the man who had assaulted her. The individual was placed under arrest for Assault and Battery and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer.

Sector 2

Operating after Revocation: 2/11 at 2:57 AM- Kent St.

A query of a vehicle’s registration revealed that the registered owner had a revoked license. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Kent St. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation.

Sector 3

OUIL: 2/10 at 2:17 AM- Harvard St.

Officers responded to the intersection of Harvard Street and Coolidge Street for a traffic crash. Upon arrival officers observed a MV stuck in a snow bank on Harvard St. Officers could detect an odor of alcohol emanating from the driver’s person. Based on the officer’s observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

Sector 4

Operating after Suspension: 2/11 at 1:08 AM- Washington St./Pond Ave.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that it had a revoked registration. The officer initiated a traffic stop at Washington St. and Pond Ave. A query revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension and Unregistered MV.

Operating after Suspension: 2/12 at 11:18 AM- Harvard St.

An officer observed a vehicle cross the solid double lines on Harvard St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A license and registration check revealed that the operator had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Sector 5

Burglary: 2/7 between 4:00 and 5:30 PM- Clark Rd.

A Clark Rd. resident reported a breaking and entering. The victim stated that when she returned home she discovered that someone had made a forced entry through a basement door. Several rooms in the residence had been rummaged through.

B&E MV: Between 2/6 and 2/7- Clark Rd.

A Clark Rd. resident reported a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that when he went to use his motor vehicle he discovered that someone had entered the vehicle and stole loose change. The vehicle was left unlocked.

Not Duly Licensed: 2/11 at 4:36 PM- Tappan St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling the wrong direction on a one-way street. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Tappan St. A license and registration check revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Sector 7

B&E MV: Between 2/6 and 2/7- Cushing Rd.

A Cushing Rd. resident reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that when he went to use his motor vehicle he discovered that someone had entered the vehicle and stole loose change. The vehicle was left unlocked.

Police Reports 2/5-2/7

Sector 2

Shoplifting: 2/5 at 5:00 PM- Harvard St.

A Walgreen’s employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that she observed an individual place items in a personal bag and leave the store without paying. The suspect fled on Harvard St. Officers were unable to locate a suspect matching the description.

Sector 4

Arrest: 2/6 at 12:05 PM- Washington St./Juniper St.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had an outstanding warrant out of Maine. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Washington St. and Juniper St. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for the warrant.

Operating after Suspension: 2/7 at 1:03 AM- Harvard St. / Webster St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling on Harvard St. with a broken tail light. The officer initiated a traffic stop at Harvard St. and Webster St. A license and registration check revealed that the driver had a suspended license as well as a warrant out of Roxbury District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension and the warrant.

Sector 5

Shoplifting: 2/6 at 836 PM- Washington St.

A CVS employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that he observed a suspect conceal items in his jacket and flee the store without paying. Officers were able to stop an individual in the area who matched the description given by the employee. The employee positively identified the subject as the shoplifter. The suspect will be summonsed to court.

Sector 6

B&E MV/ Larceny: 2/7 at 2:57 AM- Clinton Rd.

An officer observed a suspicious male subject walking on Clinton Rd. The officer conducted a stop of this individual and he was found to be in possession of a large amount of spare change and an iPod. The owner of the iPod was contacted and it was confirmed that it had been stolen from his unlocked vehicle on Clinton Rd. The suspect was placed under arrest for Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle with Intent to Commit a Felony and Larceny over $250. There were several other car breaks reported in the area overnight.

Sector 7

Arrest: 2/6 at 5:25 AM- Clyde St./Larkin Rd.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Clyde St. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Clyde St. at Larkin Rd. A license and registration check revealed that the driver had an expired license. The driver was placed under arrest for Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

OUIL: 2/7 at 1:59 AM- Chestnut St. / Kendall St.

Officers responded to the area of Chestnut St and Kendall St. for a noise complaint originating from MV parked on Chestnut St. listening to loud music. Upon arrival the officers observed a vehicle stopped in the middle of the street with the engine running. The driver of the vehicle was asleep upon officers’ arrival. The officers could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the occupant. Based on the observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor. He was additionally charged with Operating after Suspension and Open Container.

Sector 5/6

 Arrest  2/7 at 2:57am  Clinton Rd

 While on Clinton Rd an Officer observed someone who appeared to be concealing himself behind a tree.  
The Officer stopped and identified the subject. During this time, the defendant appeared nervous and kept looking both to his right and left and not making eye contact with the officer.
 The officer noticed the suspect had an IPOD hanging out of the top left pocket of his coat.
Officers spoke with a homeowner on Clinton Rd, who identified and confirmed his IPOD was stolen from his vehicle. 
Based on the above facts, at that time, the suspect was placed into custody and transported for booking to the Brookline Police Station.

Larceny: 2/4 between 5:12 and 6:15 PM- Harvard St.

Three individuals reported their wallets stolen from unlocked lockers in the female locker room at a gym on Harvard St.

Sector 2

Shoplifting: 2/4 at 12:30 PM- Beacon St.

A Trader Joe’s employee reported a shoplifting. The employee stated that she witnessed an individual leave the store without purchasing items in his carriage. The individual fled towards Beacon St. and was not located by police.

Public Meeting, Monday 7:00PM Devotion School

There will be a public meeting focused on the neighborhood of Saint Paul street, Crownenshield road, Pleasant street, Freeman street, and Amory street. The meeting is Monday February 11th at 7:00PM, Devotion School cafeteria, 345 Harvard Street Brookline. Chief Daniel O'Leary from Brookline Police along with Chief Robbins from BU police will be in attendance. Topics to be discussed include the recent robberies and the arrest made. Brookline Police will discuss the enforcement efforts at the quality of life issues in the area.

Sector 3

B&E MV: Between 2/2 and 2/3- Salisbury Rd.

A Salisbury Rd. resident reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle and stole spare change sometime during the overnight hours.

B&E MV: Between 2/2 and 2/3- Salisbury Rd.

A Salisbury Rd. resident reported the breaking and entering of two motor vehicles. The victim stated that someone had entered two unlocked vehicles and stole spare change and an iPod sometime during the overnight hours.

Burglary: 2/3- Atherton Rd.

An Atheron Rd. resident reported a breaking and entering. The victim stated that sometime after 2:00 PM, someone entered her apartment and went through her drawers. The victim did not report any missing from the residence.

Operating after Suspension: 2/4 at 12:49 AM- Boylston St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling on Boylston St. at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A license and registration check revealed that the operator had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Not Duly Licensed: 2/2 at 4:46 PM- Harvard St.

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal U-Turn on Harvard St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A license and registration check revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The operator was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

Package Theft: Between 2/1 and 2/2- Dwight St.

A Dwight St. resident reported the larceny of a package. The victim stated that a package was confirmed delivered and left at the front door of her residence on 2/1. However, when she attempted to retrieve the package it was missing.

Sector 3

B&E MV: Between 2/2 and 2/3- Salisbury Rd.

A Salisbury Rd. resident reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that someone had entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her iPod sometime between 7:00 PM and 8:00 AM.

Sector 4

Warrant: 2/1 at 1:50 PM- Washington St.

An individual reported to the police station in order to have her vehicle released after it had been towed. A query of the individual’s information revealed that she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. The individual was placed under arrest for the warrant.

OUIL: 2/3 at 3:42 AM- Washington St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with a noticeably flat tire. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. Upon reaching the vehicle, the officer noticed major front end damage to the vehicle. Additionally, the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. Based on the officer’s observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

A Stanton Rd. resident reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle sometime between 8:00 PM and 7:15 AM. Nothing was reported stolen from the vehicle.

A Lowell Rd. resident reported a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that someone entered her unlocked vehicle some time during the overnight hours. CDs were reported missing from the vehicle.

An individual reported a larceny from her locker in a gym on Commonwealth Ave. The victim stated that she placed her property in a locker in the female locker room and when she returned she discovered that her lock had become undone. Several items were reported stolen.

Operating after Suspension: 2/1 at 1:42 AM- Washington St.

A vehicle was traveling without an inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. A license and registration check revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Operating after Suspension: 2/1 at 10:02 AM- Harvard St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling with a rejection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Harvard and Webster streets. A license and registration check revealed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Armed Robbery Arrest

Brookline Police Press Release


Two subjects have been arrested for the recent armed robbery and stabbing at Pleasant Street and Browne Street on Jan 29th.

This afternoon officers from the department took into custody Wallace Vick, dob. 7-12-93, age 19 from Gaylord Street in Dorchester and Shaqone Cazeau, dob. 9-10-92, age 20, from Lindsey Street Boston.

Both are being charged with Armed Robbery While Masked and Armed Assault With Intent to Murder.

Both are currently being held on bail, they should be arraigned tomorrow at the Brookline District court on Washington Street.

Police Reports 1/29-1/30

Sector 1

B&E MV: 1/31 between 4:00 and 7:00 AM- Browne St.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that someone had broken into his vehicle that had been parked on Browne St. sometime between 4:00 AM and 7:00 AM. A GPS unit was reported missing.

Robbery: 1/29 at 8:31 PM- Browne St./ Pleasant St.

Officers responded to Pleasant Street at Browne Street for a report of a street robbery. The victim stated that he was grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground and had his laptop, a cell phone and an iPad stolen as he was walking on Pleasant Street. The victim stated that he was attacked by two male subjects that had been sitting on the steps in front of a Pleasant Street address. The suspects were both described as being about 5'10" tall, wearing black sweatshirts or fleece jackets, and blue jeans with masks covering their faces. The victim stated that the suspects fled down Browne Street towards St. Paul Street. The victim sustained a non-life threatening stab wound.

Arrest: 1/30 at 9:05 PM

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had outstanding warrants for his arrest out of Dorchester District Court. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Longwood Ave and Kent St. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for the warrants.

OUIL: 1/30 at 3:10 AM- Harvard St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Harvard St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. Upon reaching the driver’s window the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the interior. Based on the officer’s observations the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling without an inspection sticker. The officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Washington Street and Holden Street. A license and registration check revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

B&E MV: Between 1/29 and 1/30- VFW Pkwy.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that someone had entered her unlocked car while it was parked in a driveway on VFW Parkway and stole a GPS unit.

Update on armed robbery

Armed robbery 1-29-13 at 8:30 PM at Browne and Pleasant Streets. The police department is working on this case and has developed some leads. This case is not connected to the prior case earlier this month, for which there was an arrest made.  We are working with BU police and have increased patrols in marked and unmarked cars. An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn on Harvard St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A license and registration check revealed that the operator had an expired license. The driver will be summonsed to Brookline District Court for Not Duly Licensed.

Operating after Revocation: 1/29 at 1:32 AM- Washington St.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a red signal while traveling on Washington St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. A license and registration check revealed that the operator’s right to operate in Massachusetts was revoked. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation.

Sector 1

Shoplifting: 1/27 at 4:30 PM- Harvard St.

Officers responded to TJ Maxx for a shoplifting report. A loss prevention officer observed an individual conceal merchandise and flee the store towards Commonwealth Ave. The suspect was described as a W/M, late 40s, dressed in all black clothing, and carrying a black backpack. A search of the area did not yield any results.

Traffic Offenses: 1/27 at 6:30 PM- Boylston St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Boylston St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A license and registration check revealed that the vehicle was uninsured. The operator will be summonsed to court for Operating a MV without Insurance.

An officer observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn on Harvard St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A license and registration check revealed that the driver had two warrants for his arrest. The operator was placed under arrest for the warrants.

Arrest: 1/26 at 10:48 PM- Englewood Ave

Officers responded to the area of Englewood Ave. for a report of malicious damage. A resident stated that a suspect broke a pane of glass in the foyer of a building and left towards Beacon St. Officers stopped an individual who matched the description in the area. The resident identified the individual as the person who broke the glass, and he was placed under arrest for Malicious Damage.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling on Washington St. at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. A license and registration check revealed that the driver did not have a valid license. The operator was placed under arrest for Not Duly Licensed.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling without an inspection sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. A license and registration check revealed that the driver had a suspended license and the registration was revoked. The query also revealed that the operator had three warrants for her arrest. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension and the warrants.

Arrest: 1/24 at 6:11 PM- Pond Ave.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at a red light on Washington St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Pond Ave. A license and registration check revealed that the driver did not have a license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating without a license.

Burglary: 1/24- Beacon St.

An officer took a report for a burglary that occurred at an office on Beacon St. The victim stated that she left her office around 12:00 PM on 1/24, and when she returned she discovered that the front door was ajar and the office had been rummaged through. An iPad, a laptop, and a pair of eyeglasses were reported stolen.

Larceny: 1/23 between 2:06 PM and 6:30 PM- Babcock St.

A Babcock St. resident reported the theft of a package. The victim stated that a package was confirmed delivered to his residence, however the package was not in the vestibule when he returned home.

Larceny: Between 1/17 and 1/21- Lawton St.

A Lawton St. resident reported the theft of a bicycle. The bicycle was stolen from an open and unlocked garage.

Operating after Revocation: 1/24 at 10:36 AM- Brookline Ave.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at Netherlands Rd. and Parkway Rd. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Brookline Ave. A license and registration check revealed that the operator had a revoked license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation.

Burglary: 1/23 between 9:15 AM and 2:06 PM- Cypress St.

A Cypress St. resident reported a breaking and entering. The victim stated that upon returning to her home she discovered that the door had been forced open. A laptop, video games, and a camera were reported missing from the residence.

An officer observed a vehicle facing the wrong direction on Cypress St. A license and registration check revealed that the operator had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

OUIL: 1/19 at 2:03 AM- Beacon St.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling without headlights and at a high rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Beacon St. Upon reaching the driver’s window, the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. Based on the officer’s observations, the driver was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

Sector 1

Arrest: 1/18 at 6:30 PM- Harvard St.

Officers responded to TJ Maxx on Harvard St. for the report of a shoplifting. A loss prevention employee stated that he observed a subject concealing items in a jacket. The subject had a default warrant out of Waltham District Court. The subject was placed under arrest for the warrant and Shoplifting.

Robbery: 1/19 at 12:11 AM- St. Paul St./ Freeman St.

Three victims reported a robbery in the area of Freeman St. and St. Paul St. The victims stated that they were approached from behind by two males, one of which displayed a firearm and demanded that the victims hand over their purses. Suspect 1 was described as a white male in his mid-twenties, with a medium build, approximately 6'3" tall, with a large nose and unshaven. Suspect 2 was described as a white male in his mid-twenties, with a medium, approximately 6'3" tall. The suspects grabbed the victims’ purses and iPhones and fled towards Commonwealth Ave. A search of the area did not yield any results.

Operating after Revocation: 1/20 at 5:57 PM- Babcock St.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had a revoked license. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Babcock St. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and he was placed under arrest for Operating after Revocation.

B&E MV: 1/9- Egmont St.

An individual reported the breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that her car was parked in a lot on Egmont St. The victim stated that she heard her car alarm and observed two people fleeing towards St. Paul St. The suspects entered through an unlocked door and stole cigarettes, cash, and a key.

Operating after Suspension: 1/18 at 9:07 PM- Boylston St.

An officer observed a vehicle travel through a red light onto Boylston St. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. at Cypress St. A license and registration check revealed that the driver had a suspended license and a default warrant out of Waltham District Court. The driver was placed under arrest for the warrant and Operating after Suspension.

OUIL: 1/19 at 5:14 PM- School St./ Harvard St.

Officers assisted individuals exchange papers following a motor vehicle accident. Officers could detect an odor of alcohol emanating from the operator of one of the vehicles. Based on the officer’s observations the individual was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Liquor.

Operating after Suspension: 1/20 at 1:40 AM- Washington St.

A query of a vehicle’s information revealed that the registered owner had a suspended license. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Washington St. The driver was confirmed to be the registered owner and she was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension.

Arrest: 1/19 at 3:04 AM- Boylston St.

Officers responded to Boylston St. for a report of a single motor vehicle accident. A license and registration of the operator revealed that he was not licensed to drive in Massachusetts and that he had two warrants out of Attleboro District Court. The operator was placed under arrest for the warrants and Not Duly Licensed

B&E MV: Between 1/20 and 1/22- Dudley St.

A Dudley St. resident reported the breaking and entering of a MV. The victim stated that someone had broken into his vehicle and stolen loose change.
