Arrests:
Occurred at 6:41 PM (4/14) – Harvard Street
Officers were travelling on Lawton Street when they observed a group of 5 males riding bicycles. One of the five males was acting very suspicious and nervous when he saw the presence of the officer. Due to the suspicious activity of the male weaving in and out of traffic and turning the opposite way, the officer stopped and queried all five of the boys. One of the boys had a straight warrant out for his arrest and was placed under arrest without incident.
Burglary:
Occurred between 10:00 AM (4/14) and 5:30 PM (4/14) – Longwood Avenue
Officers responded to a report of breaking and entering of an apartment. Upon investigation officers learned that when the residents returned home from work they noticed several items out of place and rummaged through in their home. A laptop and two cameras were taken from the apartment. Neighbors of the building advised police that there was a vehicle with two males inside of it parked out front earlier that night that did not look familiar to the area or building. The vehicle was described to be a gold or silver colored Mitsubishi or similar type of 4 door sedan. No suspects have been located at this time.
Breaking and Entering and Larceny from a Motor Vehicle:

Officers responded to a report of breaking and entering and larceny from a motor vehicle. Upon investigation officers learned that the passenger window was smashed with an unknown object. One item was stolen from the vehicle.

Arrests:
Occurred at 1:02 AM (4/14) – Harvard Street/ Longwood Avenue
Officers responded to a report of taxi cab fare evasion. Upon arrival officers were directed to the suspect. When they approached the subject to talk, the subject became very angry, loud and aggressive. Officers attempted to calm the subject down but were unsuccessful. Officers attempted to place the suspect who had been drinking into protective custody due to the disorderly conduct, but again the subject struggled with officers. Once officers successfully placed the subject in handcuffs the subject continued to yell profanities and attempted to spit on one of the officer’s face. The subject was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, assault, resisting arrest, and taxi fare evasion.
Larceny:
Officers responded to a report of larceny. Upon investigation officers learned that a laptop computer was stolen from a local doctor’s office storage room. The employees stated the computer was locked up over the weekend and the only persons with access are the cleaning service and the doctors. There is no further information at this time. This case is under investigation.

Officers received a report of breaking and entering and larceny from a motor vehicle. Upon investigation officers learned that the locks of the two side sliding doors of the van were popped out and several tools were missing from the van.
Robbery:
Occurred at 2:40 PM (4/13) – Beacon Street
Officers responded to a report of a bank robbery. Upon arrival officers learned that a male suspect, 5’4 to 5’5, wearing a ski mask with a long sleeve yellow shirt with stripes on it entered the bank and asked for the money. The suspect then retrieved the money and left the bank quickly and fled towards the Park drive area. Surveillance pictures were retrieved and this case is under ongoing investigation.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for having commercial license plates with no owner markings on the vehicle. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator did not have a Massachusetts license to operate. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for not having owner markings and for being not duly licensed.
Occurred at 6:21 PM (4/8) – Park Street
Officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct. Upon arrival officers met with two men who were causing the disturbance. Both of the subject seemed intoxicated and under the influence and had been arguing over money. Neither subjects cooperated with the police and were so loud that the neighbors were exiting their apartments to see what the commotion was. Both parties were placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and the investigation is ongoing.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle accelerating in a high rate of speed and switching lanes without a signal. Upon investigation officers learned that operator was under the influence of alcohol. The subject was subsequently placed under arrests for excessive noise by screeching his tires, marked lane violation, failure to use seatbelt, and operating under the influence of alcohol.

Upon investigation officers learned that the operator had an active warrant out for his arrests, a long with having a suspended license to operate. Officers conducted a traffic stop for an illegal left hand turn. Upon investigation officers learned that the subject’s license to operate was revoked. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after revocation and for an illegal left hand turn. During the inventory of the vehicle, officers found a couple clear plastic baggies containing a substance that is consistent with marijuana. The subject was additionally cited with possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

Officers responded to a report for breaking and entering and larceny of a Motor vehicle. The victim reported that an unknown person had smashed her front passenger side window of her vehicle. Several items were removed from the vehicle. Several of the removed items were located in the backyards of houses on the street but some items are still missing.

Officers responded to a report of larceny from a motor vehicle. Upon arrival officers met with the victim who reported that her purse was missing from the front seat of her vehicle. The passenger window was left down and it is believed that access was gained by the window.

Officers learned that a male with a blond beard wearing a black ski mask and who had a knife had entered the business and asked the employee behind the counter to fill the pillow case with narcotics. The male told the employee not to scream and that if they did not cooperate there was another male outside in a car with a gun that would kill them. This investigation is on going and surveillance footage will be reviewed.

4-8-2011 Armed Robbery, 1180 Beacon St.
On 4/8/2011 at 5:45 PM a suspect entered the pharmacy located at 1180 Beacon, He brandished a knife and threatened the employees. After taking container's of narcotics he exited the store. Last seen heading out to Beacon Street. Suspect described as a white male, 6 feet tall, blond mustache, wearing a ski mask, dark sunglasses, black jacket, blue jeans and gloves. No one was hurt and a follow up investigation is underway.

Arrests:
Occurred at 10:55 AM (4/7) – Beacon Street
Officers received a call for suspicious activity. The caller reported that his neighbor called him while he was at work and told him he was in his apartment and playing with his dog. The caller did not want the neighbor in his home but was not sure if the subject was telling the truth. When officers arrived, they met with the caller’s neighbor who was in his own apartment but with the neighbor’s dog. They interviewed him and learned that the subject entered the victim’s apartment and removed the dog. The victim confirmed that the subject did not have permission to enter his apartment of take his dog, and that this is not the first time this incident has occurred. The subject was subsequently placed under arrests for breaking and entering in the daytime, and larceny. The dog was returned to the victim’s apartment.

An Officer was riding a police motorcycle when another vehicle almost caused a serious collision with the police motorcycle due to failure to stop for a red light. The officer conducted the traffic stop for a red light violation. Upon investigation officers learned that the subject did not have a Massachusetts license. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for not being duly licensed and failing to stop for a red light.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a red light violation. Upon investigation officers learned that the subject’s license to operate in Massachusetts was suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating with a revoked license, and a red light violation. It was later learned that the subject was also in an area that he has a stay away order for. The subject was additionally charged with violation of a restraining order. Both passengers of the vehicle were giving citation for not wearing seatbelts. One of the passengers of the vehicle was involved in an earlier investigation in Brookline. The passenger was the suspect that had fled from Bournewood hospital earlier in the day. The subject was taken to a hospital in Boston.

The incident stated below occurred yesterday. The report below states that the subject was not yet located, but the subject was later located and is in a hospital in Boston.
Yesterday on April 7th, at approximately 1 PM, a male subject was being transported to Bournewood Hospital 300 South Street, Brookline. He was being transferred from a facility in Quincy where he was being treated for mental health issues. He was brought to Bournewood Hospital by Fallon Ambulance. When he arrived on the property while in the driveway, this subject walked away from the ambulance attendants. Fallon personnel called the Brookline Police to inform us of this incident. Several officers arrived and began to search the area. Shortly thereafter, Brookline officers were joined by a State Police K9 in an effort to locate the subject. A thorough search was conducted but the subject was not located. It was our belief that he had left the area.
As the search was underway, Officers passed by the Baker School. Baker School contacted the police and inquired about the status of the case. We informed them that we believed there was no known threat to the safety of the students nor was there a need to delay the dismissal of their students.
Follow up investigation with Bournewood Hospital officials revealed that as part of the intake process the sending hospital was asked about the subject’s criminal history. Bournewood told us they were informed the subject did not have a criminal history. Bournewood then agreed to accept the subject at their facility.
As this search was on going, we learned that the subject does have a criminal history but is not a registered sex offender with the State’s Sexual Offender registry board. At this time the subject’s location is unknown. Subject is believed to be homeless. His last known address was in the Quincy/ Randolph area.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for an unregistered motor vehicle. Upon investigation officers learned that the subject did not have a proper Massachusetts license to operate. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating without a license, and unregistered motor vehicle.

Officers responded to a report of shoplifting. Upon arrival officers learned that a female suspect had entered the store, placed several items in her jacket pocket and exited the store. Officers observed a subject that was acting in a suspicious behavior. When the officers confronted the subject he seemed nervous and inconsistent with his story. Officers learned that the subject had an active warrant for his arrest. The subject was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the police station. During the booking process officers learned that a bag the subject was carrying contained several small bags of marijuana in a glass jar. They also discovered a large amount of cash. Due to these facts and the officers training, the subject was additionally charged with possession of a class D substance with the intent to distribute, along with drug free school zone violation.

Upon arrival officers were met with the victims who stated that the back door had been kicked in and damaged and that items were missing. After interviewing all of the roommates, evidence was found proving that he was responsible for the damage and items missing. He had also threatened several of the roommates through text messages and verbal arguments. The suspect was placed under arrest for breaking and entering, larceny from a building, 2 counts of malicious destruction, threats to commit a crime, and assault.

During an inventory of the vehicle, officers found a burnt marijuana cigarette and other paraphernalia. The subject was additionally charged with possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

Officers reported to a call of attempted burglary. The victim reported hearing squeaking and shaking of a door handle coming from a back porch. Officers noticed foot prints in the snow coming from the back porch. No suspects or arrests have been made. Residents are advised to report any suspicious behavior in this area.

When the employee behind the register left for a short minute or so the subject took a laptop computer from behind the counter off a shelf and left the store. The manager left the back office to chase after the subject but the subject fled.

No access was gained to the second apartment. Residences in this area are advised to take extra precautions when leaving their homes, and to report any signs of break-ins.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a marked lane violation and impeding the flow of traffic. Upon investigation officers could detect a strong odor of liquor coming from the vehicle and the subject. Officers conducted a series of field sobriety tests and came to the conclusion that the operator was under the influence of alcohol. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating under the influence of alcohol, marked lane violation, and impeding the flow of traffic.

Officers responded to a report of shoplifting. Upon arrival officers learned that a male subject had entered the local store and removed a razor from it’s package and attempted to steal it. The employee confronted the subject, retrieved the item, and sent the subject on his way. Officers watched the surveillance camera in order to get a description of the subject. MBTA officers later identified the male on a near by train who matched the descriptions of the events earlier. The male was subsequently placed under arrest for shoplifting.

Officers responded to a report of burglary. Upon arrival officers learned that when the victim returned home they noticed glass was broken on a side door. The door was off a three season’s room. Several rooms were ransacked and multiple items and cash were missing. None of the neighbors saw anyone or noticed any suspicious activity. Although day time break ins are rare in this neighborhood, Brookline residence are advised to properly secure all doors and windows of their households in order to prevent break ins. The employee confronted the subject, retrieved the item, and sent the subject on his way. Officers watched the surveillance camera in order to get a description of the subject. MBTA officers later identified the male on a near by train who matched the descriptions of the events earlier. The male was subsequently placed under arrest for shoplifting.
Burglary:
Occurred between 6:15 AM (3/28) and 5:30 PM (3/28) – Lagrange Street
Officers responded to a report of burglary. Upon arrival officers learned that when the victim returned home they noticed glass was broken on a side door. The door was off a three season’s room. Several rooms were ransacked and multiple items and cash were missing. None of the neighbors saw anyone or noticed any suspicious activity. Although day time break ins are rare in this neighborhood, Brookline residence are advised to properly secure all doors and windows of their households in order to prevent break ins. O'Leary is pleased to announce that the Brookline Police Department is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in a second nationwide prescription drug ''Take-Back'' initiative that seeks to prevent increased pill abuse and theft by collecting unused, unneeded, or expired prescription drugs.
This national event will take place on Saturday, April 30, 2011, 10 am until 2 pm at the Brookline Public Safety Building, 350 Washington Street, Brookline. Members of the Brookline Police Department and the DEA will be at the prescription drug collection site location.
The DEA, in conjunction with state and local law enforcement agencies throughout the United States, conducted the first ever National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, September 25, 2010. This effort was a huge success in removing potentially dangerous prescription drugs, particularly controlled substances, from our nation's medicine cabinets. Arrests:
Occurred at 6:50 PM (3/24) – St. Paul Street/ Beacon Street
Officers were stopped at a red light when they observed the vehicle in front of them proceed through a red light. Officers conducted the traffic stop and learned that the driver’s right to operate in Massachusetts was suspended. The operator was placed under arrest for operating after suspension and red light violation. There were two other occupants in the vehicle. All three occupants were not wearing seat belts within the vehicle. One of the occupants had two outstanding warrants and was placed under arrest. Before towing the vehicle, officer conducted an inventory search of the vehicle and found a bag that contained drug paraphernalia and residue of a substance that is believed to be heroin. The passenger that was arrested for the two warrants was additionally charged with possession of a class B substance.
Larceny:
Occurred between 4:00 PM (3/21) and 2:30 PM on (3/23) – Fuller Street
Officers responded to Fuller Street for a report of larceny of a bicycle. Upon investigation the victim stated that she had left her bicycle in the storage area in the basement and when she returned the bike was missing. The bicycle was not locked up.
Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle:
Occurred between 9:20 PM (3/24) and 9:33 PM (3/24) – Beacon Street
Officers responded to a report of breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle. Upon investigation officers learned that the victim’s vehicle was broken into while they were in the store. The back passenger’s window had been smashed and a bag was missing.

Occurred at 10:11 PM (3/25) – Beacon Street
Officers responded to a call of a suspicious person. Upon arrival the caller stated that a man came into the restaurant and was causing a scene by yelling at the employees and customers. The suspect fled when they threatened to call the police. Officers searched the surrounding area and found a man matching the description in a close by restaurant. The male had a warrant out for his arrest and was very intoxicated. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Brookline Police Department.
Occurred between 11:12 PM (3/25) and 11:45 PM (3/25) – Harvard Street
Officers were patrolling the area when they noticed a car parked in an alley way. Due to the frequent drug activity and shoplifting that occurs in the area, officers activated the blue lights to conduct a traffic stop. The operator stated that he was waiting for a friend to exit a store. Upon investigation officers learned that the driver did not have a proper Massachusetts license. When the friend of the operator returned, officers asked if he had a proper license to transport the vehicle home without being towed. Officers then learned that he also did not have a license and also had a straight warrant for his arrest. Both parties were placed under arrest, one for being not duly licensed, and the other for an active warrant.

Officers responded to a report of reckless driving. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator was in violation of the Massachusetts Junior Operators license law that states that they should not be operating between the hours of 12:30 AM and 5:00 AM. While the officer spoke with the operator they could detect an odor of alcohol coming from the subject’s breath. Officers conducted field sobriety tests and came to the conclusion that the subject was operating under the influence of alcohol. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for Operating under the influence of liquor, operating to endanger, failure to stop at a red light, operating without a license and a one way violation.

Officers observed a vehicle conduct a marked lane violation. During the traffic stop officers learned that the operators license was suspended. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Upon investigation officers learned that the operators license was suspended. The operator was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension and speeding.

Officers observed a vehicle with commercial plates that did not have any owner marking on it. During the traffic stop officers learned that the operator did not have a proper Massachusetts license to operate. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle having an expired inspection sticker. Upon investigation officers learned that the registration and the operator’s license were both suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension.

Officers responded to a report of shoplifting. Upon investigation officers learned that a male party had reportedly stolen multiple items from the local Trader Joe’s store. Officers took an inventory of the items stolen and the subject was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Upon investigation officers learned that the subjects license to operate in Massachusetts was suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension.

Officers were traveling west on Beacon Street when they observed a vehicle that was following too closely and nearly struck another vehicle. Officers conducted a traffic stop to speak with the operator. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator did not have a proper Massachusetts license to operate. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for being not duly licensed and following too closely.
Occurred at 11:16 PM (3/22) – Washington Street
An officer was on patrol when he observed a vehicle without a registration sticker affixed to the rear plate. The officer queried the registration and learned that the registration of the vehicle was expired. The officer conducted the traffic stop. Upon investigation the officer confirmed the registration status as expired and the operator was not duly licensed. The subject was subsequently place under arrest for not duly licensed.
Occurred at 2:18 AM (3/23) – Corey Road/ Orchard Street
Officers conducted a traffic stop for failure to yield at a red light. Upon investigation officers detected an odor of alcoholic beverages coming from the operator’s breath. Officers asked the operator to exit the vehicle and as he did so he had to balance himself on the door of the vehicle. After investigation the operator was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of an intoxicating liquor and failure to stop at a red light.

Officers observed a vehicle that did not have fully functioning lights. While conducting a registration status check through dispatch, officers continued to follow the vehicle when they smelled an odor that smelled of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle in front of them. At this time, officers conducted a traffic stop. Officers learned that the operator’s license status was suspended. The operator was placed under arrest for operating after suspension, defective equipment, and failure to use seat belt.

An individual reported that a building on Summit Avenue appeared to have been entered and knew that the occupant was out of town. The two rear door handles were in the open position and the doors are off the enclosed patio of the apartment. The bedroom seemed to have several drawers open and scattered on the floor. When officers arrived it appeared that there was no forced entry to gain access.
Not Duly Licensed:
Occurred between 4:54 PM (3/22) and 5:30 PM (3/22) – Beacon Street
Officers were traveling eastbound on Beacon Street and observed a vehicle with an expired registration sticker. Officers conducted the traffic stop and learned that the operators Massachusetts license to operate was expired as well as the registration. The operator was issued a citation for operating without a license and expired registration.

When the officers conducted the traffic stop, they learned that the operator had an active warrant out for his arrest. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for the default warrant and was also cited for speeding. While being placed under arrests, officers discovered a small amount of marijuana in the subject’s vehicle. The subject was additionally cited for possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
