Between 10/19 and 10/26 officers took 70 reports for unemployment fraud from residents.
10/19/2020- Officers took a fraud report from a resident of
Beacon St. The resident reported to the officers that they had received an
email stating they were from Amazon and they had packages arriving. The
resident had not purchased anything from Amazon and called the number in the email.
The person that answered the phone then informed them the only way to find out
if they were “hacked” was to purchase more gift cards through the app.
10/19/2020- Officers took a larceny report from a constructions
site on Independence Dr. The employees
told officers that some time overnight multiple items were taken from the site.
10/19/2020- Officers responded to Harvard St for report of
Graffiti on a town bench. Officers
observed a subject with spray paint near the bench. The subject was identified
and will be summonsed into court for defacing the property.
10/19/2020- Officers took a stolen Bike report from a
resident out of Village Way. The
resident reported that their bike was outside their building had been taken
sometime between 6pm and 8pm.
10/20/2020- Officers served an arrest warrant on Kent
St. On subject was placed under arrest.
10/20/2020- Officers responded to Harvard St. to recover found
property. An employee of a business on
Harvard St. noticed a purse on the bench unattended in front of their
store. With all the recent hand back
thefts, they reported it to the officers.
Officers were able to trace the purse back to a resident of Beals St.
from a wallet inside. After speaking with the owner of the wallet,
and having them identify the wallet, they found that the wallet had been taken
from their bag while shopping at Trader Joes the day before.
1/20/2020- Officers took a report for a stolen bike out of Coolidge
St. The resident reported to the
officers that their bike had been in their garage. When they went to get it, the bike was gone.
10/21/2020- Officers took a report for a stolen bike from a
resident of Naples Rd. The resident reported
that their bikes (4) were parked in the back of their residence. They had been cable locked together, but the
lock was cut and left on the ground and all four bikes were gone.
10/22/2002- Officers took a larceny report from a work van
on Beacon St. The victim reported to
officers that they had their work van parked in the rear of a building on
Beacon St while doing work. When they returned to the van they found someone
had taken some items out of the truck.
10/22/2020- Officers took a bike theft report from a
resident of Beacon St. The resident reported
that they had their bike locked in the basement of their residence. When they went to check on it the bike was
gone.
10/22/2020- Officers took a report of a car break on Beacon
St. The resident reported that their car
was parked in their drive way and when they went out to the car they found that
the car had been rummaged through and multiple items were removed.
10/22/2020- Officers took a bike theft from a resident of
Pleasant St. The resident reported that
their bike was taken from the community garage for their building.
10/23/2020- Officers took a larceny report from a
construction site on Independence Rd.
The employees reported that the site is locked up overnight, however
when they responded to work they found multiple items were damaged or stolen.
10/23/2020- Officers took a package theft report from a
resident of High St. The resident
reported to the officers that they received a delivered notification for a package. When they went to retrieve the package they
found it was gone.
10/24/2020- Officers took a stolen bike report from a
resident of Beals St. The resident
reported they had their bike on their front porch. When they went out in the morning they found
that the bike was gone.
10/24/2020- Officers made an arrest on Harvard St. for operating
after suspension of license, operation after suspended registration, attaching
plates, disorderly, resisting and an outstanding warrant.
10/24/2020- Officers took a bike theft report from a resident
of Linden Place. The resident reported
they had their bike locked to their front porch. When leaving the house in the morning they
found that the bike was gone.
