Officers were dispatched to Beacon Street for the report of shoplifting. The
manager of the business advised Brookline dispatchers that he was in pursuit of
a suspect wearing a blue jacket and carrying an orange backpack. Police noticed
an individual matching this description. Officers questioned the suspect who
admitted he stole a bottle of alcohol. The suspect was arrested, and the
merchandise was returned to the store.

2:10PM: Police were dispatched to Coolidge Corner for a
report of shoplifting. Officers were met by the store manager who showed them
surveillance footage of an unknown man stealing 30 deodorants. The suspect
covered his face while entering and exiting the business. The subject is
described as a light-skinned Hispanic or black male with a beard, wearing a
black coat with white and gray stripes, and black pants. He fled towards the
Centre Street parking lot and was not located by officers. Police are investigating.
