January 20th

Motor Vehicle Theft

  • Occurred between 1:00PM (1/18) and 12:00PM (1/19) – 1168 Commonwealth Ave.

Police responded to a report of a stolen motor vehicle at a local repair shop. The reporting party stated that the vehicle that was stolen had been brought in for maintenance and was last parked in the lot. Police are following up on the case.

Fraud

  • Occurred between 9:34AM (11/30/09) and 10:59AM (12/1/09) – Franklin St.

Victim reported that three fraudulent charges were made on her Brookline Bank debit card. Two were to purchase computer software and the other was with the Registry of Motor Vehicles. Victim was advised to cancel her account. Police are following up on the case.

  • Occurred between 9:47AM and 11:37AM (1/19) – Russett Rd.

Victim reported to police that her Brookline Bank debit card was used eleven times to purchase items from Walmart.com. Police are following up on the case.

  • Occurred between 12:30AM (1/16) and 8:00AM (1/18) – Green St.

Police responded to a report of fraudulent use of a credit card. The victim stated that she accidentally left her wallet in a taxi. A couple days later the victim logged onto her online banking accounts and noticed six unauthorized charges over both of her credit cards. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:00AM and 12:30PM (1/20) – 345 Harvard St.

Police responded to the Devotion school for a larceny report. The victim stated that her wallet was taken from her purse sometime between the morning and lunch. The wallet was later found in the girl’s bathroom, but money was missing. Police are following up on the case.

January 19th

Missing Person

  • Occurred 8:18PM (1/19) – 101 Colchester Rd.

Police responded to a report of a missing person. The missing person is 20 years old and was last seen at home by her mother at 3:00PM. Police are currently searching for her.

Graffiti

  • Occurred 2:56AM (1/19) – 19 Mason Terrace

Police observed a young man with a cylindrical object in his hand acting suspiciously. The officer proceeded to start up a conversation with the young man and eventually, the young man admitted to being responsible for numerous graffiti appearances around Brookline.

Larceny

  • Occurred 5:13PM (1/19) – 525 Harvard St.

Police responded to a report of shoplifting at a local TJ Maxx. The suspect was seen by a TJ Maxx loss prevention employee placing numerous items into a bag and inside her jacket. When the loss prevention employee approached the suspect, she dropped all of the items and left the store. Police located the suspect when she attempted to get on an MBTA train. She was subsequently arrested for shoplifting.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 1:00PM (1/17) and 11:22PM (1/19) – VFW Parkway

Police responded to a report of a past breaking and entering. The victim reported that she had left for vacation and returned to find a pane of glass on her door smashed. Police are following up on the case.

January 18th

Arrest

  • Occurred 11:05AM (1/18) – 615 Boylston St.

Police officers executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. When asked for identification, the driver was found to have no driver’s license. The driver was placed under arrest for not being duly licensed.

  • Occurred 1:10PM (1/18) – 170 Cypress St.

Police officers performed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Upon running a driver’s history, officers found that the operator’s license was suspended and the operator was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred 11:58PM (1/18) – Washington St./Downing Rd.

Police officers executed a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. When asked for identification, the driver provided a false name to officers. Once the driver’s real name was discovered, he was found to have a revoked license. The driver was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license.

Fraud

  • Occurred between 4:17PM (1/9) and 4:17 (1/14) – Norfolk Rd.

Victim reported that while on a trip to South Africa, three of his credit/debit cards were used fraudulently. Two of the cards were discovered to have unauthorized withdrawals almost immediately but the last card had eleven unauthorized withdrawals before the victim was notified. Police are following up on the case.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 11:00AM and 7:00PM (1/16) – 29 Green St.

Police responded to a report of vandalism to property. Upon arriving at the scene, the victim stated that dish detergent was poured into two pairs of shoes located outside of the victim’s door in a common lobby area. Police are following up on the case.

January 15th - 17th

Arrest

  • Occurred 11:39PM (1/15) – 1 Crawford St. Watertown, MA

Police attempted to locate two persons with warrants for there arrests. Officers were allowed entry to the apartment where the two people were staying, upon which the men were arrested. A search warrant of the suspects’ house revealed large amounts of stolen property and weapons.

  • Occurred between 2:17AM and 2:56AM (1/17) – 1768 Beacon St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Upon interacting with the driver, the officers asked the driver if they would undergo a field sobriety test. The driver was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of alcohol.

Assault

  • Occurred between 7:37AM (1/10) and 7:37AM (1/15) – Emerson Park/Davis Ave

Police responded to reports of an unwanted person at the Brookline High School. The complainant stated an Asian man was banging on the wall and causing a disturbance. While responding to the scene in a police vehicle, an officer witnessed the man approach his vehicle. Suddenly the suspect began to bang on the officer’s car. When the officer went to confront the man, the suspect ran causing a chase to ensue. He then repeatedly resisted arrest, attempting to scratch and hit the officers. The man was placed under arrest for assault, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly person.

  • Occurred 11:10PM (1/16) – Harvard St./School St.

Police officers on duty were approached by a group of teenagers that were involved in a dispute. The victim reported that he was assaulted by another teenage boy, around eighteen years old. He stated that the two of them had words and the suspect attempted to punch the victim. Police are following up on the case.

Robbery

  • Occurred 8:12AM (1/15) – Downing Rd./Washington St.

Police responded to a report of an attempted robbery by a local supermarket. The victim stated that she was walking from the supermarket and saw a male, approximately 5’10” wearing a black hoodie with white graffiti type stitching and a black and white doo rag, approach her. The man attempted to grab her purse and when the victim resisted and screamed the suspect fled. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 9:30PM (1/14) and 9:00AM (1/15) – 128 Addington Rd.

Police responded to a report that a victim had two tires stolen from the right side of his vehicle overnight. Police are following up on the case.

  • Occurred 2:01PM (1/15) – 294 Harvard St.

Police responded to a report of shoplifting at CVS. The suspect ran out of the store without paying for a box of condoms. Officers located the man and he was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

  • Occurred 10:27PM (1/15) – 115 Greenough St.

Police responded to a report of a stolen cell phone. The victim stated that she was in the girl’s bathroom in Brookline High School and left her phone on the sink. When she realized it was missing she returned to the bathroom but it was gone. Police are following up on the case.

  • Occurred 7:36PM (1/16) – 599 Brookline Ave.

Police recognized a man riding a bicycle along the street as a known person with warrants. The police confirmed the warrants and then placed the man under arrest. Upon arresting the suspect, a large amount of cosmetics were found on his person. The cosmetics were later found to be stolen from Walgreens. The suspect was then also charged with receiving stolen property.

Fraud

  • Occurred between 1:42PM (1/08) and 3:43PM (1/14) – Brook St.

Victim reported to police that Brookline Bank had notified him about fraudulent use of his debit card account. An unauthorized withdrawal was made at a vending machine and later at a Wal-Mart in New Jersey. Police are following up on the case.

  • Occurred between 12:00AM and 11:00PM (1/14) – Buckminster Rd.

Victim reported to police that he found an unauthorized charge on his credit card was made using his card information. Police are following up on the case.

  • Occurred between 5:45PM (1/14) and 11:46AM (1/15) – Beacon St.

Victim reported to police that Brookline Bank had contacted him about his debit card account. An unauthorized withdrawal was made at a Wal-Mart in New Jersey. Police are following up on the case.

  • Occurred 5:15PM (1/15) – Greenough St.

Victim reported to police that a social networking account was fraudulently created in his name containing false information. Police are following up on the case.

Graffiti

  • Occurred between 5:30PM (1/10) and 1:20PM (1/15) – 14 Warwick Rd.

Police responded to a report of graffiti on the side of a building next to an alleyway. There were three tags written in white spray paint. Police are following up on the case.

Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle

  • Occurred between 7:00PM (1/13) and 7:00AM (1/14) – 1812 Beacon St.

Police responded to a report of a past breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that his vehicle had been broken into sometime during the night. The car was left unlocked and an E-Z Pass transmitter as well as some change was stolen. Police are following up on the case.

Motor Vehicle Theft

  • Occurred between 1:30AM and 5:58PM (1/16) – 187 Thorndike St.

Police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim stated that the last time he saw his vehicle it was locked. Along with the car, a cell phone, two pairs of sunglasses, and a headset were also taken. Police are following up on the case.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 10:00PM and 10:15PM (1/16) – 115 Greenough St.

Police responded to a report of a vehicle that had been damaged and that the victim was following the suspects. The vehicle had on of the side mirrors ripped off. Police approached the suspects and through further investigation, the suspects were placed under arrest for malicious damage to a motor vehicle.

January 14th

Arrests

  • Occurred 2:32PM (1/14) – 299 Harvard St.

Officers observed a vehicle obstructing the northbound lane of Harvard St. and made multiple attempts to have the driver move the vehicle. When the driver refused to move, an officer approached and asked for an ID. The driver stated that he did not have a license and that his boss was originally driving and left, informing him that he was to stay with the vehicle in case it needed to be moved. The driver was arrested for not being duly licensed to operate a motor vehicle.

  • Occurred 7:24AM and 7:30AM (1/14) – 1396 Beacon St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. The driver stated that he had left his license in another wallet. A license and warrant check was performed and it was revealed that the driver had a suspended license and a warrant. The driver was arrested.

Graffiti

  • Occurred between 5:45PM (1/13) and 8:15AM (1/14) – 15 Kilsyth Rd.

Police responded to a report of graffiti alongside a home. The victim was returning from dropping her kids off at school and discovered the graffiti on the side of her home in the alleyway. Police are following up on the case.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

  • Occurred between 6:00PM (1/13) and 9:00AM (1/14) – 8 Kilsyth Rd.

Police responded to the rear of the address for a report of a breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that she had parked her car and when she returned the following day, her camera was missing. The car was left unlocked and the camera was in the center console, visible from the exterior.

Fraud

  • Occurred 4:33PM (1/14) – 50 Pleasant St.

Victim reported to police that someone in Brazil had taken money out of his bank account. The victim stated that he has never lost his debit card and noticed something was wrong when he could not withdraw money from an ATM. Police are following up on the case.

January 13th

Larceny

  • Occurred 11:40AM (1/13) – 1322 Beacon St.

Police responded to a report of shoplifting. An employee stated that she saw a man put three sticks of deodorant into his front jacket pocket and begin to leave. When the employee confronted the man, he placed the deodorant on the counter and left. Police are following up on the case.

Graffiti

  • Occurred 12:33PM (1/13) – 115 Greenough St.

Police responded to a complaint of graffiti in the alcove of a wall. There were two cartoon faces painted with black paint. Police are following up on the case.

January 12th

Arrest

  • Occurred 6:51PM (1/12) – Harvard St./Beacon St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. After a check on the driver’s information, it was discovered that he was operating the vehicle with a suspended license and was arrested.

  • Occurred 6:54PM (1/12) – Washington St./Bartlett St.

Police performed a traffic stop based on a check of the vehicle’s registration producing a “Revoked Insurance” status. When asked for her identification, the operator produced a torn license. The name on the license was found to be false and when the real ID card was given, it was discovered that she had a default warrant and a suspended license. The operator was arrested.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 12:01AM and 10:00AM (1/9) – 4 Fuller St.

Police responded to a report from a building owner of a tenant who stated that a rock had been thrown at his apartment. The rock had smashed the front foyer door of the building. Police are following up on the case.

January 11th

Arrests

  • Occurred 7:50AM (1/11) – 338 Clinton Rd.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Officers discovered that the operator of the vehicle was unlicensed. The driver was arrested for operating without a license.

  • Occurred 7:54PM (1/11) – Beacon St./Carlton St.

Police were driving behind a vehicle when they witnessed it swerving in the road. A registration check found that the driver had two warrants. At this point the officer executed a traffic stop and identified the driver as the registered owner. The driver was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred 8:05PM (1/11) – 195 Winthrop Rd.

Police responded to a report that two females were being followed by a suspicious man. The victims called police and stated that a man had been following them for a while and yelling out to them but they had no idea who he was. Upon locating the man, police found that he had a warrant and he was placed under arrest.

Assault

  • Occurred between 6:00PM (1/9) and 11:11AM (1/11) – Naples Rd.

Victim reported to police that while she was taking out the trash behind her apartment, an unknown individual grabbed and pushed her. Police are following up on the case.

  • Occurred between 3:10PM and 3:30PM (1/6) – 320 Washington St.

Police responded to a report of an assault and battery between co-workers. The victim stated that she was pushed into a wall during a heated conversation. Police submitted a request to summon the other worker into Brookline District court for assault.

  • Occurred 9:00PM (1/11) – Newton St./Clyde St.

Police responded to a reported road rage incident. The victim stated that she noticed a vehicle driving erratically behind her. When she stopped for a red light, the other vehicle pulled alongside her and the operator began waving a stick at her. Police are following up on the case.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 4:00PM (1/8) and 1:33PM (1/11) – 1051 Beacon St.

Police responded to a dispute between business partners. One of the partners returned to work after the weekend to find that a piece of equipment was cut in half with a saw. The other business partner admitted to damaging the equipment and will be summonsed to Brookline district court for malicious damage to personal property.

  • Occurred between 7:13PM and 7:40PM (1/11) – Colbourne Cres.

Police responded to a report of someone throwing a piece of cement through a front window. The victim was in the kitchen, along with her family, when the front window shattered. Police are following up on the case.

  • Occurred 7:30PM and 8:38PM (1/11) – Colbourne Cres.

Police responded to a report of someone throwing a brick paver at a glass window by the front door. The victim returned home to find that someone had thrown a paver from the driveway at the window. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 10:00AM and 2:00PM (1/11) – Washington St.

Police responded to a report of a stolen wallet. The victim was in the library studying and during that period of time her wallet was taken from her bag. The bag was left unattended multiple times when the victim went to the bathroom or to get more materials. Police are following up on the case.

  • Occurred 2:53PM (1/11) – Brookline Pl.

Police responded to a report of a stolen purse. Upon the arrival of the responding officers, the purse had been recovered in the stairwell but the victim’s wallet was still missing. The suspect was described as a 6’ tall stocky black male with a mustache wearing a waist length green winter jacket and light blue jeans with a black winter knit hat and black shoes. Police are following up on the case.

Fraud

  • Occurred 4:10PM (1/08) – 150 Pleasant St.

Victim reported that Brookline Bank recently informed her that her credit card information was being used in Brazil. There were numerous unauthorized charges made. Police are following up on the case.

January 8th - 10th

Arrests

  • Occurred 10:47PM (1/8) – 17 Station St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Upon stopping the driver, officers noticed that the driver may have been intoxicated. The driver was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol.

  • Occurred 8:18Pm (1/9) – Dean Rd./Beaconsfield Rd.

Police performed a traffic stop for a driving violation. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 10:00PM (12/29/09) and 10:30AM (1/7) – 22 High St.

Victim reported to police that a wig has been stuck in the tailpipe of his car a total of three times while parked in a lot.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 2:50PM and 3:15PM (12/1/09) – Kennard Rd.

Victim reported to police that her engagement ring was stolen while she was doing the dishes in the staff bathroom of a local school.

  • Occurred between 8:00AM (1/4) and 9:00PM (1/7) – Pond Ave.

Police responded to a report of computer equipment stolen from the victim’s apartment. She left her apartment for work and when she returned, the equipment was missing.

  • Occurred between 3:15PM and 3:31PM (1/8) – Washington St.

Police responded to a report of a laptop computer being stolen from the main library. The victim got up from his computer to take a phone call and when he returned his computer was gone. Police are following up on the case.

  • Occurred between 11:00AM (9/2/09) and 11:00AM (1/9) – Park St.

Police responded to a report from a son that his father’s online bank statements were showing unusually high amounts of money being withdrawn. His father has medical concerns and he was concerned that someone was taking advantage of his father. Upon further investigation it was found that the transfers had been completed over the phone.

Fraud

  • Occurred between 9:25PM (12/18/09) and 11:59PM (12/22/09) – Bartlett Cres.

Victim reported that his debit card was fraudulently used. Victim stated that two charges were made from California. Police are following up on the case.

  • Occurred 4:51PM (1/8) – Beacon St.

Police responded to a report of identity theft and fraudulent use of a credit card. The victim reported two unauthorized charges to his credit card. Police are following up on the case.

  • Occurred between 10:11AM (1/7) and 10:11AM (1/9) – Gorham Ave.

Victim reported to police that unauthorized withdrawals had been made from her debit bank account. Upon asking a bank teller, the victim discovered that the unauthorized withdrawal had been made from California. Police are following up on the case.

January 7th

Arrests

  • Occurred 8:00PM (1/7) – Newton St./Clyde St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a traffic violation and discovered that the driver’s passport was expired and was not licensed to operate a motor vehicle in Massachusetts. The driver was placed under arrest.

Fraud

  • Occurred 11:17AM (1/7) – Naples Rd.

Victim reported to police that money was missing from her bank account.

  • Occurred 6:23PM (1/7) – St. Paul St.

Police responded to a report that a victim had received a letter about her credit card account being closed for lack of payment on a credit card she didn’t open.

Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle

  • Occurred between 8:30AM and 4:30PM (1/7) – 300 South St.

Victim returned to her vehicle after work to find the right front passenger door window smashed. The victim’s GPS system was stolen.

January 6th

Arrests

  • Occurred 10:20AM (1/6) – 143 Harvard St.

While performing a traffic stop for an equipment violation, officers discovered that the driver’s right to operate had been revoked. Officers placed the driver under arrest for operating after revocation.

  • Occurred 1:36PM (1/6) – 345 Harvard St.

Police executed a traffic stop for an equipment violation and found the driver to be carrying an expired passport and was not licensed to operate a motor vehicle in Massachusetts. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Fraud

  • Occurred 1:14PM (11/20/09) – Gerry Rd.

Victim reported to police that there had been an unauthorized withdrawal from his debit card. The unauthorized withdrawal was made by an online company.

  • Occurred 11:06AM (1/6) – Seaver St.

Victim reported to police that someone was using her social security number to open and pay for another cable account.

  • Occurred 2:59PM (1/6) – Beacon St.

Victim reported to police that either she had lost or someone had stolen her debit card. She stated that someone had withdrawn money from her bank account at a bank in Brockton.

  • Occurred 1:00PM (12/18/09) and 6:40PM (1/6) – Winthrop Rd.

Police responded to a report of credit card fraud. The victim had received his credit card statement and noticed that a few of the charges were not authorized.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 4:00PM (1/5) and 6:00AM (1/6) – 876 Commonwealth Ave.

Police responded to a report of malicious damage to a generator. All four tires on the generator had been sliced resulting in each tire becoming flat.

  • Occurred between 8:00PM (1/1) and 3:30PM (1/2) – 105 Marion St.

Victim reported that the cable she uses to tie up her dog had been cut. The cable is attached to a metal spike in the ground and appears to have been cut by a tool.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

  • Occurred between 1:00PM and 1:30PM (1/6) – 302 Harvard St.

Police responded to a reported breaking and entering of a vehicle. The victim parked his car and went across the street to a local restaurant and returned to find his rear passenger window rolled down slightly. A GPS system and cash was taken from the vehicle.

  • Occurred between 8:30PM (1/4) and 5:46PM (1/6) – 1195 Boylston St.

Police responded to a report of a past larceny at the CVS parking lot. The victim stated that she went into CVS to get a drink, got back into her vehicle and drove home. She later realized that her gym bag and GPS system were missing from the motor vehicle.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:00AM and 6:30PM (1/6) – Pond Ave.

Victim reported that her cell phone and charger had been stolen from her apartment. She left her apartment and returned after work. When the victim returned, she noticed her cell phone was missing.

January 5th

Arrests

  • Occurred 12:34PM (1/5) – 376 Washington St.

Police identified a man with two default warrants in front of the building. The man was placed under arrest without incident.

Assault

  • Occurred between 6:02PM and 6:20PM (1/5) – Harvard St./Thorndike St.

Police responded to a reported assault and battery. The victim was in his vehicle parked at a street light when a bicyclist rode by. The victim and the suspect exchanged words and the suspect spit on the victim and rode away.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 8:00AM and 1:04PM (1/5) – Boylston St.

Officers responded to a victim reporting a breaking and entering and larceny. The victim stated that she and her son were the last ones to leave the house that morning. Both the front and back doors were locked. When the victim arrived home she noticed that the lock on the front door was broken. A laptop computer and Xbox 360 were reported missing.

  • Occurred between 3:20PM and 5:00PM (1/5) – 66 Tappan St.

Police responded to a breaking and entering and larceny that occurred at the Tappan St. gymnasium girl’s locker room. A cell phone was stolen from the victim’s locker. The suspect was located and arrested for breaking and entering and larceny.

January 4th

Assault

  • Occurred 12:17PM (1/4) – 300 South St.

Police were called to an altercation occurred between two people at the Bournewood Hospital. One man got upset with another over cigarette smoke while outside. Police requested a hearing for assault.

Fraud

  • Occurred between 9:59AM (11/23) and 9:59AM (12/30) – Green St.

Police responded to reports of credit card fraud. Someone posing as the victim opened a Walmart credit card and purchased a substantial amount of items, even providing a social security number. Walmart informed the victim that the credit card has been cancelled.

Burglary

  • Occurred 11:06AM (1/4) – Clinton Rd.

Police responded to a call from the victim of a breaking and entering in progress. The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic male wearing a dark jacket, wool hat, and carrying a green laptop bag. Officers spotted the suspect running towards and getting into a train at the Beaconsfield MBTA T-Stop. Officers escorted the suspect off the train. Officers placed the suspect under arrest for breaking and entering.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 8:00AM and 12:05PM (1/4) – 240 Kent St.

Victim returned to her parked car to find that the rear window had been smashed. No entry into the vehicle was attempted since the smashed glass in had not been removed from the window.

Motor Vehicle Theft

  • Occurred between 9:30AM and 12:13PM (1/4) – 1168 Commonwealth Ave.

Police responded to a reported stolen vehicle from the rear parking lot of Herb Chambers. The vehicle was about to go in for service and the keys were left inside. Two employees witnessed a Black male, wearing glasses and in his mid-30’s, walking towards the back parking lot and later driving away in the stolen vehicle.

  • Occurred between 8:50PM and 8:55PM (1/4) – 1195 Boylston St.

Police responded to a reported stolen vehicle from the CVS parking lot. The victim put the keys in his center console and left his 13 year old son in the vehicle. The son got out of the vehicle to join his father in the store and the vehicle was stolen. Along with the vehicle, a laptop computer and baseball equipment were also taken.

Arrests

  • Occurred 11:00AM (12/31) – 195 Harvard St.

Police conducted a traffic stop for an expired inspection sticker. A license check came back that the driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended license and that the car was unregistered and uninsured. The operator was placed under arrest.

Police conducted a traffic stop for speeding. The operator stated that the vehicle was his friend’s and that he had left his license at home. Upon running the operator’s information, a registry check revealed that the operator’s license was suspended. The operator was placed under arrest.

Graffiti

  • Occurred 2:40AM (12/31) – 1 Evans Rd & 1634 Beacon St

Police reported numerous graffiti tags both on a residential fence and the side of a building.

  • Occurred 2:42AM (12/31) – 724-726 Washington St

Police reported several graffiti tags along a concrete wall.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 9:45AM (12/30) and 9:15AM (12/31) – 15 Short St.

Victim reported that a UPS package that had been delivered 12/30 had been stolen from his vestibule, between a locked and unlocked doorway into the building.

  • Occurred 11:40AM (12/31) – 287 Mason Terrace

Victim reported multiple larcenies that had occurred on his construction property throughout the last few months. All stolen items were construction related.

  • Occurred between 12/16 and 12:30PM (12/31) – 11 Monmouth Court

Victim reported that a package containing several books was stolen out of her front vestibule sometime between when it was delivered on 12/16 and when the report was filed.

Motor Vehicle Accident

  • Occurred 5:32AM (12/31) – Boylston St./Dunster Rd.

Police responded to a traffic crash, upon which they found the driver unharmed. The car had hit a fire hydrant, a utility pole, spun out of control, and rolled several times. The driver was cited for driving with a suspended license.

  • Occurred 12:00PM (12/31) – Beacon St./Westbourne Terrace

An operator attempted to turn right onto Westbourne Terrace when her car began to slide in the snow and onto the sidewalk, colliding with a one way sign and a tree. The driver did not sustain any injuries.

  • Occurred 2:50AM (1/3) – Allandale Rd.

Officers spotted a vehicle over the curb on the right hand side of the road with hazards on. The vehicle had sustained severe front damage after colliding with a fire hydrant. The victim and the fire hydrant were unharmed.

Robbery

  • Occurred 2:23PM (12/31) – 846 Commonwealth Ave.

Police responded to reports of a bank robbery at University Credit Union. The suspect was described as a Black male, late 20’s to early 30’s, wearing a black puffy coat, dark pants, and a “newsboy” type knit cap. He has dark skin with white blotches on his forehead and acne scars on his lower face and jaw.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 5:30PM (12/31) and 11:50AM (1/1) – 510 Clinton Rd.

Police responded to a report of a burglary at the rear door of the victim’s house. There were wood/paint chips and fresh pry marks on the back door. The suspect is thought to have jumped the fence to escape.

  • Occurred 7:25PM (1/3) – 115 Greenough St. (Brookline High School)

Police responded to an alarm at Brookline High School. Neighbors observed three teenage boys open a ground level window and enter the school. The building was searched and all three boys obtained and found to have been smoking marijuana before the police intervened. The suspects were arrested.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

  • Occurred between 7:00AM (12/28) and 7:00AM (12/31) – 68 Boylston St.

Victim reported that a work laptop computer and a black sport coat were taken. The most likely address where the crime occurred was 68 Boylston St. but the car had been parked in various other locations throughout the day.

  • Police received a report of graffiti marks on the side of the building.


Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle

Occurred between 6:30 am (12/28) and 10:00 am (12/28) - South St

  • Victim reported to police that the vehicle was parked. When returning to the vehicle it was found to have a smashed window and the GPS unit was taken.


Larceny

Occurred between 3:45 pm (12/28) and 6:00 (12/28) 31 Pleasant St

  • Victim reported to the police that while at the Brookline Public Library she had her handbag draped over the back of her chair. When she got up to leave the library her handbag was gone.


Arrest

Occurred at 12:02 am (12/29) – Washington St

  • Police conducted a traffic stop for an expired registration. The operator was placed under arrest for operating with a suspended license.


Occurred at 2:55 am (12/29) – Washington St

  • Police conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle drive up on an island in the roadway and strike a town sign. The operator was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol.

  • Officers responded to a traffic crash. One operator was placed under arrest for operation without a license along with an outstanding warrant.

Occurred at 12:36 pm (12/24) – Fairbanks St

  • Police made an arrest for an outstanding warrant.

Occurred at 6:35 pm (12/24) – Village Way

  • Police responded for a suspicious person. Police made an arrest for an outstanding warrant.

Occurred at 2:37 pm (12/25) – 300 Harvard St

  • Police responded to a commercial alarm, upon arrival they observed a suspicious male in the rear of the building. After an investigation the subject was placed under arrest for breaking and entering.

Occurred at 3:30 am (12/27) – Washington St

  • Police stopped a vehicle in connection to suspicious activity in Boston. Police placed the operator under arrest for operating a vehicle without a license, with revoked insurance and revoked registration.

  • Police responded to T.J Maxx for a report of a shoplifter. Police placed the shoplifter under arrest.

  • Police responded to the Verizon store to take a report for three stolen cell phones.

  • Victim reported to police that while at Peet’s Coffee & Tea her wallet was taken out of her purse.

Break and Entering of a Motor Vehicle

Occurred between 8:15 pm (12/26) and 12:30 am – 33 Pond Ave

  • Victim reported to police that his vehicle window was smashed and GPS was stolen from his vehicle.

Occurred between 5:45 on (12/27) and 6:48 pm (12/27) – Stetson St

  • Victim reported to police that on return to his vehicle he found a window smashed an the GPS unit missing from the windshield.

Malicious Damage

Occurred between 5:00 am (12/27) and 1:23 pm (12/27) – Boylston St

  • Victim reported to police that it appeared someone had deliberately hit the driver’s side mirror of the vehicle and removed the broken portions.

Burglary

Occurred between 1:30 pm (12/22) and 3:30 pm (12/22) – Euston St

  • Victim reported that when they returned home there were multiple items missing from the home, including a television and computer.

  • Police took a report of a snow blower stolen from the victim’s garage.

  • Victim reported to police that he parked his vehicle behind the building on Freeman St. The victim returned to find his tires were removed from the vehicle.

  • Victim reported to police that while at TJ Max her wallet was removed from her purse and credit cards were used.

  • Victim reported to police that during the above time someone had entered the home and took two computers from the house.

  • Officers stopped a vehicle for defective equipment. The operator was placed under arrest for operating without a license.
