January 31st Police Reports

January 31, 2008

Arrest

  • Occurred at 1:56 PM 227 Babcock St.

Michael Vandenbroeke, 23 yrs, was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery with a dangerous weapon.

Police responded to reports of an assault. The victim reports that the suspect and another subject were fighting over the trade of two I-Pods. Mr. Vandenbroeke then picked up a chair to throw at the other subject. When the victim tried to stop the suspect, he was hit over the head with the chair. Mr. Vandenbroeke was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

  • Occurred at 4:20 PM John St. / Pleasant St.

Badr Faisal, 24 yrs, was arrested and charged with driving with an expired license.

After being pulled over for a traffic violation, police ran a check on the suspect’s license and discovered that his license was expired and non-renewable. Mr. Faisal was placed under arrest for driving with an expired license.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 11:58 1/30 and 12:10 1/31 454 Harvard St.

Police responded to an alarm call at the Sunoco Gas Station. When police arrived they noticed that the front window had been damaged. The only things that seemed to be taken were the stores scratch tickets.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 7:59 AM 12/20 and 7:59 1/1 70 Sewall Ave.

Victim reports that a past employee had stolen an old checkbook and used it to cash several checks to himself. Nine checks totaling $6,255 were cashed.

  • Occurred between 11:30 AM and 12:05 PM 179 High St.

Caller reports that when she returned to the home, of which she walks the residence’s dog, she noticed that the door frame around the front door to the apartment had been damaged. When police searched the apartment it appeared that the bedroom had been ransacked.

  • Occurred between 3:00 PM 1/15 and 3:57 PM 1/27 750 Commonwealth Ave.

Victim reports that someone had stolen an I-Pod and a guitar valued at $1820.00.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 8:00 PM 1/30 and 8:00 AM 1/31 1 School St.

Victim reports that when he returned to his car in the morning, which was parked in the lot, he observed a scratch mark on the passenger side rear panel that resembled the mark of a key scratch.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred at 4:00 PM 525 Harvard St

Victim reports that when she returned to her company car, she noticed that the passenger side window was smashed and the company laptop was taken.

January 30, 2008

Arrest

  • Occurred at 1:31 AM 20 Chapel St.

Kiel Williams, 22 yrs, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license.

After being pulled over for a traffic violation, police arrested Mr. Williams for driving with a suspended license.

  • Occurred at 10:33 PM Summit Ave. / Beacon St.

Kevin Laporte, 17 yrs, was arrested and charged for tagging.

Police arrested Mr. Laporte for tagging a building on Beacon St.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 7:00 PM 1/29 and 12:14 AM 1/30 1 Harvard St.

Victim reports that while his vehicle was parked in the lot, someone had punctured the rear tires of the vehicle with what seemed to be a knife.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 8:00 PM 1/29 and 12:01 AM 1/30 Amory St. / Dummer St.

Victim reports that someone had smashed the passenger side window of his vehicle, and stole his GPS unit, the charger and stand. Nothing else appeared to be missing from the vehicle.

Fraud

  • Occurred between 9:40 AM 1/1 and 9:40 AM 1/28

Victim reports that she had posted a wooden kitchen table set on Craigslist for $400.00. A buyer responded to the post and sent her a check for $2400.00. He then asked the victim to reimburse him the extra amount of money by wiring it to an account in New York. The original check for $2400.00 bounced a few weeks later.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 4:00 PM 1/28 and 12:59 AM 1/29 700 Washington St.

Victim reports that while he was at work someone had smashed the front passenger window of his vehicle and stolen his GPS unit, valued at $250.00. Nothing else appeared to be missing from the vehicle.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 4:02 PM 276 Clyde St.

Nachelle Gordon, 26 yrs, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license.

After being pulled over for a traffic violation, police discovered that the suspect’s license was suspended.

  • Occurred at 9:29 PM

Shane O’Brien was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery.

Police responded to reports of a family disturbance. Shane O’Brien was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery.

  • Occurred at 10:25 PM Beacon St.

William Jackson, 25 yrs, was arrested and charged for violating court order.

While on patrol, police observed a man known to them and whom they believed had a warrant for his arrest. The subject told police that there was a warrant for his arrest but that he had turned himself in earlier that day and the warrant was recalled. The officer then discovered that there was a restraining order against him, ordered by the young woman with whom the subject was walking with. Mr. Jackson was placed under arrest for violation of a restraining order.

January 25th-27th Police Reports

January 25, 2008

Arrest

  • Occurred at 12:07 AM Boylston St./ Hammond St

Santiago Gonzalez, 37 yrs, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine.

After police pulled Mr. Gonzalez over for a traffic violation, police discovered that he was driving without a license. After the subject was placed under arrest, police found numerous bags of a white powder within the car which they believed was cocaine.

  • Occurred at 3:25 AM 95 Boylston St.

Marcus Farina, 27 yrs, was arrested and charged with driving with an expired license.

After being pulled over for a traffic violation, police discovered that the suspect’s license was expired.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:00 AM 1/10 and 3:00 PM 1/10 791 Hammond St.

Victim reports that during the day her son’s clarinet was taken from the teacher’s advisory room where it was stored.

Robbery

  • Occurred between 12:40 PM and 12:46PM 525 Harvard St.

Victim reports that while she was walking down Harvard St. she was approached by a light skin Hispanic man, the victim said that the suspect demanded $20. The victim replied “no”. The man than brandished a knife and robbed the victim and in doing so ripped her coat with the knife. The victim described the man as being a light skin Hispanic between 20 and 25 years of age, clean shaven with short black curly hair and wearing blue jeans and a black jacket.

Arrest

  • Occurred between 12:56 AM and 2:49 AM 229 High St.

Ana Nichols, was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

Police responded to reports of a fight on High St. When they arrived they observed a young woman in the bathroom with dried blood on her head and blouse. The resident of the building informed police that a fight had broken out between the victim and Ms. Nichols in which the suspect hit the victim in the head with a glass cup. The suspect was not at the residence at the time, but turned herself into police the next day.

  • Occurred at 12:00 AM 265 Goodard Ave.

Andrei Tsapaev, 35 yrs, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle on Goodard Ave. When police arrived they discovered a black pick-up truck parked in one of the driveways still running. Police approached the vehicle and discovered the driver slumped over the wheel of the vehicle. After some further investigation the driver Andrei Tsapaev was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

  • Occurred at 9:59 PM 180 High St.

Two juveniles were arrested and charged with unarmed robbery.

Police responded to reports of a robbery on High St. While the officer was responding to the location of the incident he noticed two males quickly walking towards the Chestnut St. Rotary. At this time a witness informed the officer that the two suspects had just ran towards Chestnut St. The officer then turned around towards the direction of the two suspects, and was able to stop one of them; the other ran in the other direction. At this time the officer informed another officer of the location of the other suspect. He was stopped as well.

The victim reports that while she was walking on High St. she felt someone tug on one of the shopping bags that she was carrying. The bag ripped and her purse fell to the ground. The suspect then grabbed the purse and ran towards Chestnut St.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred at 10:50 AM 1 Centre St Lot West

Witness reports that after he had parked his vehicle on Centre St, he heard what he believed was glass breaking. When he turned in the direction of the noise he noticed a Hispanic male about 20-25 years of age, 5’9, with a mustache wearing a dark navy blue hooded sweatshirt get into a red Acura or Toyota Solara and drive away. Upon arrival police located the victim’s parked vehicle with a broken driver’s side window. Nothing inside the vehicle seemed to be disturbed.

January 24th Police Reports

January 24, 2008

Arrest

  • Occurred at 6:15 PM 242 Washington St.

Jon Adams, 27 yrs, was arrested and charged with armed robbery

Daniel Vacarro, 28 yrs, was arrested and charged with armed robbery.

On Saturday morning, the twenty sixth day of January 2008, the Brookline Police arrested two subjects that had committed two armed robberies within our town during the previous week. These armed robberies were very similar in the physical actions taken to commit the crimes and similar descriptions of the subjects that had committed the crimes. These two crimes were believed to be a trend that was beginning to occur in our town.

In the latest crime that occurred on the 24Th of January at 242 Washington St., forensic evidence (a latent fingerprint) was obtained from the cash register positively identifying one of the subjects. As a result, a location he was believed to be temporarily staying at was put under surveillance. An arrest warrant was obtained for his person and upon successfully executing the warrant, a second subject fitting the description of the second culprit involved was located at the same address. The location was 21 Child St. Jamaica Plain, Ma.

Upon further investigation, the subjects were positively identified as the ones that had committed the two armed robberies and had stated that they were addicted to crack-cocaine as to the reason for committing the crimes. The arrests of these two drug addicted subjects are believed to have prevented a series of similar armed robberies within our town, as these two criminals tried to support their drug habit.

The two subjects that were arrested were a Jon Adams who is a 27 year old black male originally from Fall River, Ma. and a Daniel Vaccaro a 28 year old white male listed as homeless. Both subjects were just staying at the Jamaica Plain address temporarily

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 6:00 PM 1/21 and 8:00 PM 1/23 22 Greenough St.

Victim reports that sometime between 1/21 and 1/23 someone had smashed the passenger side window of his SUV. Stolen was his GPS unit which was mounted on the windshield.

Note: Please refrain from cleaning up any debris (ex. broken glass) that may occur from a home or vehicle break-in. This will greatly help police when processing the crime scene.

Arrest

  • Occurred 1:35 PM 20 Harrison St.

John Maloney, 53 yrs, was arrested and charged with attempted breaking and entering and trespassing.

Victim reports that she saw a white man with a white hat and dark jacket looking into the back of the house. While responding to the call police observed a male matching the description walking in the area. Mr. Maloney was placed under arrest for Attempted Breaking and Entering and Trespassing.

  • Occurred between 11:00 PM and 11:17 PM

Reginald Beach, 48 yrs, was arrested and charged with assault and Battery.

Police responded to reports of loud banging coming from one of the rooms at a rooming house. Police spoke to the victim who stated that she and her husband, Mr. Beach, had got into an argument about the TV. Mr. Beach was placed under arrest for Domestic Assault and Battery.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 1:15 PM and 3:50 PM 21 Longwood Ave.

Victim reports that while she was confirming a follow-up appointment with the receptionist at her doctor’s office, she left her purse unattended to look at her calendar. When she arrived home she noticed that her wallet was missing. Her black wallet contained her Mass driver’s license, Social Security card, a credit card, and $20.00 in cash.

Police responded to the playground of the Devotion School on a report of graffiti that had been placed on the slides. Police upon arrival observed graffiti on two slides and on a wooden platform on the playground structure.

January 18th-20th Police Reports

January 18, 2008

Arrest

  • Occurred 11:19 AM Harvard St. /Green St.

Anthony Rogers, 43 yrs, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended license.

An officer while monitoring traffic at Coolidge Corner observed a car drive through a crosswalk without stopping for pedestrians. The officer then signaled for the suspect to pull over to the side of the street. A license check was done and it was confirmed he had no license. Mr. Rogers was placed under arrest for failure to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk and driving without a license.

  • Occurred between 5:40 PM and 5:42 PM 1500 Beacon St.

Stephanie Oswari, 19 yrs, was arrested and charged with driving a vehicle without a license.

Police arrested Ms. Oswari for driving without a license. After being pulled over for a traffic violation, police asked the subject for her license and registration. A driver’s license check was done and it was confirmed she had no driver’s license.

  • Occurred at 12:44 AM Beacon St. /Corey Rd.

Sean Goff, 22 yrs, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police responded to reports of a car that slid off the road and unto the MBTA tracks on Beacon St. When police arrived they observed a man standing beside his vehicle. Police then detected a strong odor of alcohol on the subject’s breath. Mr. Goff was arrested with operating under the influence of liquor.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:30 AM 1/16 and 10:00 AM 1/16 115 Greenough St.

Victim reports that while she left her school bag unattended in class someone had stolen her Ipod from her bag.

January 19, 2008

Arrest

  • Occurred at 11:07 AM 32 Kent St

Anthony Murphy, 43 yrs, was arrested and charged with assault/ Battery.

Police responded to reports of a couple fighting in the parking lot. Police noticed a laceration above the victim’s left eye. Anthony Murphy was arrested for assault and battery.

  • Occurred at 4:29 PM 155 Harvard St.

Dennis Checkley, 55 yrs, was arrested and charged with larceny.

Police responded to reports of a man shoplifting from Stop & Shop on Harvard St. The witness stated that she observed Mr. Checkley at the end of an aisle and it appeared that he was stuffing something inside his coat. When police arrived, the subject was with the store manager emptying the contents of his coat and shirt.

January 20, 2008

Arrest

  • Occurred at 3:01 AM Beacon St. / Marion St.

Graham Wallace, 24 yrs, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police while on patrol observed a car traveling on Beacon St. at a high rate of speed. Police pulled the vehicle over and asked the operator for his license and registration. Mr. Wallace handed the officer his registration but could not find his license. Police noticed that the subject’s eyes were glassy and there was a moderate odor of alcohol on the subject’s breath.

  • Occurred at10:01 PM Tappan St/ Beacon St

A juvenile was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, simple assault on a police officer, and “tagging”.

Police responded to reports of two individuals causing graffiti in the area. A witness told police that he saw two white teenage males walking down Washington St. While the officers were searching the Washington Square area they observed the two white males enter the 7-11 store located in Washington Sq. The officers asked to speak with the two teenagers and then asked one of the teenagers what he was carrying in his backpack. The officers then heard a clanking noise coming from the subjects back pack. The subject became very hostile and began flailing his arms and feet and hit the officers numerous times. At this time the other subject fled the scene. One of the officers began to pursue the subject but lost sight of him. The first subject was arrested for assault, resisting arrest and tagging.

Victim reports that he got a call from State Police that his vehicle was recovered in a neighboring town. The victim reports that he went to High St. Place, where he keeps his car, and confirmed that his vehicle was missing.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 8:35 PM St. Mary’s St. / Commonwealth Ave.

Dane Brun, 60 yrs, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine.

An officer, while on patrol, recognized a man pushing a bicycle down the road, whom he believed to have a warrant out of Boston for a breaking and entering. Subject was stopped, warrant was confirmed, and he was placed into custody. On his person he also had crack cocaine and marijuana.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 11:00 AM 1/15 and 8:16 AM 1/16 16 Parkway Rd.

Victim reports that while he was living with his brother, his brother’s roommate asked to borrow his lap top. At the time, unknown to the victim, his brother’s roommate was moving out of the apartment. The suspect never returned back to the apartment to give the lap top back to the victim.

Fraud

  • Occurred between 3:41 PM 12/27 and 3:41 12/27

Victim reports that while checking his banking statement he observed unauthorized debit purchases totaling over $700.00. The victim has been keeping contact with his bank’s manager about the activity with his account.

  • Occurred at 7:19 PM 1/6

Victim reports someone attempting to use his business credit card online. The charges were only $6.00 and the victim has since been refunded. The victim also reported that this has happened twice in the past.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 5:00 PM and 8:50 PM 1566 Beacon St.

Victim reports that while she was in class, the passenger side window of her vehicle was smashed. Taken form the vehicle was her GPS unit, which was located on the windshield of her car.

January 15th Police Reports

Graffiti

  • Occurred between 8:00 PM 1/5 and 9:00 AM 1/6 845 Boylston St.

Police during a patrol observed “tags” on the rear and right side walls of the building. The victim reports that the building was spray painted early last week. Police observed a few tags painted in reddish/pink colored spray paint.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM 62 Harvard St.

Victim reports that while she was working out, her wallet was stolen from her locker. The red leather wallet contained her license, $80.00 in cash, and a couple of credit cards.

  • Occurred between 12:00 PM 10/17 and 12:00 PM 11/29 910 Boylston St.

Victim reports sometime over a few weeks a few pieces of jewelry went missing from her mother’s room. There were no signs of forced entry.

  • Occurred between 12:00 PM 8/13/07 and 12:00 PM 12/9/07 910 Boylston St.

Victim reports sometime over a few months a few pieces of jewelry went missing from her apartment. There were no signs of forced entry.

Motor Vehicle Theft

  • Occurred between 4:35 PM and 4:37 PM Hammond Pond Pk.

Victim reports that he dropped his friend off at work. The victim left his vehicle running as he walked his friend to the door. When he returned to his car he observed a black male running across the road and get into his car. The suspect then drove off in the vehicle. The victim reported the suspect to be a black male 5’7 to 5’10 in height, long hair tied in a ponytail wearing a black coat, possibly 17 to 19 years of age. The vehicle was later found in Jamaica Plain unoccupied. State Police K9 tried to track the suspect but lost the sent on Pound Cir.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 7:45 PM and 9:45 PM 171 Goddard Ave.

Victim reports that both right and left side windows of his vehicle had been smashed. A GPS system, XM radio and Dell lap top were missing from his car.

Notice: Readers are reminded to take GPS units and other valuables with them when they park their cars. In addition, you should clean any suction cup marks from the window as this can be a sign to criminals that there may be a GPS unit in the vehicle

  • Occurred between 7:45 PM and 9:45 PM 171 Goddard Ave.

Victim reports that the front driver’s side window of his vehicle had been smashed, nothing appeared to be taken.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 7:39 PM 599 Brookline Ave.

Martin Damon, 33 yrs, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license.

Police arrested Mr. Damon for driving with a suspended license. After being pulled over for a traffic violation, police asked the suspect for his registration and license. The suspect handed the officer his registration and then informed the officer that his license was suspended.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 4:00 PM 1/13 and 1:33 AM 1/14 57 Sherman Rd.

Victim reports that sometime during the night her vehicle’s front side window was smashed and her GPS system had been stolen. Nothing else appeared to be taken.

Auto Theft

  • Occurred between 8:00 PM 1/12 and 10:45 PM 1/13 12 New Terrace Rd.

Victim reports that sometime during the night his car had been stolen.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 11:31 PM Harvard St.

Mark Nolan-Schou, 21 yrs, was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

Police arrested Mr. Schou for driving with a suspended license. After being pulled over for a traffic violation, police ran a check on Mr. Schou license which showed that his license was suspended.

January 12, 2008

Arrest

  • Occurred at 4:00 PM 119 Park St.

Gustavo Freritas, 18 yrs, was arrested and charged for driving with a suspended license.

Police arrested Mr. Freritas for driving with a suspended license. While the suspect was picking up his friend, his friends car was being towed at the time, police noticed the inspection sticker on his car was invalid. When police ran a check on the suspect’s name they discovered that his license had been suspended.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 11:59 PM 1/11 and 7:00 1/12 1601 Beacon St.

Victim reports that sometime during the night one of her shrubs had been uprooted and thrown across her yard.

  • Occurred between 6:00 PM 1/11 and 12:00 1/12 503 V.F.W PK.

Victim reports that someone had “keyed” and drew a black line with a magic marker along the right front quarter panel of her vehicle.

  • Occurred between 10:00 PM and 10:58 PM 273 Walnut St.

Victim reports that two males had thrown a piece of porch furniture through her front room’s window; breaking the storm window and the inside glass window.

Graffiti Law

  • Occurred between 12:27 PM 1/9 and 12:27 PM 1/10 20 Rice St.

Victim reports that someone had “tagged” the side of his house. Police found one tag spray painted in pink.

  • Occurred between 11:00 PM 1/6 and 8:00 AM 1/7 250 Cypress St.

Victim reports that the side of her building had been spray painted. Police observed one “tag” that was sprayed with pink spray paint.

Burglary

  • Occurred at 6:36 PM 1490 Beacon St.

A caller reports that a unit in the building appeared to have been broken into. When police arrived they observed a trash barrel under the rear window. The room appeared to have been ransacked. The victim was contacted by phone.

January 13, 2008

Arrest

  • Occurred at 12:27 AM 22 High St.

Christopher Farraher, 25 yrs, was arrested on a warrant.

Police responded to a report for an unwanted person. When police arrived they met Mr. Farraher, in the hallway, who stated that his mother had kicked him out of her apartment. Police spoke with the suspects’ mother who stated that the two had gotten into a verbal argument and that she wanted him to leave her apartment. Police ran a check on Mr. Farraher which confirmed that he had a warrant from the Waltham District court.

Graffiti

  • Occurred between 6:00 PM 1/12 and 10:31 AM 1/13 249 Cypress St.

Victim reports that over night the rear parking lot behind her building had been spray painted. Police observed three “tags”.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 4:00 PM1/12 and 1:00 PM 1/13 83 Gerry Rd.

Victim reports that sometime over night her front passenger window wad been smashed and her GPS unit had been taken. Nothing else appeared to be missing.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 8:00 PM 1/11 and 4:45 1/13 74 St. Paul St.

Victim reports that when she returned home after being out of town for the weekend she noticed that her car had been keyed.

January 10th Police Reports

January 10, 2008

Arrest

  • Occurred at 9:59 PM Washington St.

Brandon Ekhator, 21 yrs, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for graffiti.

An Officer from the Community Service Department, specializing in graffiti; precaution and investigation, picked up a man that he believed had an outstanding warrant for his ”tagging”(graffiti). The officer was familiar with the suspect and located him while the suspect was riding his bike down Washington St. The man was suspected for tagging a local restaurant bathroom on 12/17. As a result of further investigation, the officer will be charging the suspect with numerous other tagging incidents throughout the town.

Larceny

  • Occurred at 8:00 AM 11/7 115 Greenough St.

Victim reports that her son had ridden his bike to school on 11/7 and then had walked home that day. The victim’s son could not remember exactly when he realized it was missing.

Assault

  • Occurred between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM 115 Greenough St.

Police responded to the Brookline High School’s Clinic for a report of an assault and battery on a student. A witness reported to the police that she saw a group of about 25 students watching two boys fighting. One of the boys had the other to the ground and was continually punching him. The victim explained that a few days before he believed that the other boy tried to pick-pocket him. The victim confronted the other boy, the subject then demanded a fight with the victim.

Arrest

Leann McGillveary, 22 yrs, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license.

Police arrested Ms. McGillveary for driving with a suspended license. After being pulled over for a traffic violation, police ran a check on Ms. McGillveary license which showed that her license was suspended. Her vehicle was uninsured and towed.

  • Occurred at 8:45 PM 139 Harvard St

Three juveniles where arrested and charged for robbery.

Officers responding to a 911 call of a robbery stopped 3 subjects fitting the description.

Victim reports that while walking north on Harvard St. he was approached by three males. One of them asked the victim where he was going while another told him to give them his stuff. The suspects took the victim’s cell phone and $62.00 in cash. The victim then ran to a near by gas station to call police. Victim was brought to the subjects’ location and was able to make identification.

Attempted Burglary

  • Occurred between 4:00 PM 1/8 and 10:30 PM 1/9 39 Juniper St.

Victim reports that sometime during the night someone attempted to forcibly enter the maintenance storage shed located in the rear of the building. The door and lock to the shed were moderately damaged. Nothing was taken from the shed

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:00 AM 1/7 and 12:40 PM 1/9 283 Harvard St

Victim reports that within the last two days somebody had climbed up on the roof to the building and pried off copper flashing.

Fraud

  • Occurred at 2:47 PM

Victim reports that she was contacted by the fraud division at her bank reporting that there had been some unusual activity on her credit card account. They informed her that an on-line or telephone charge was made totaling $610.64. She informed them that it was an unauthorized charge and the account was immediately closed.

  • Occurred 8:00 AM 1/6

Victim reports that he was contacted by Sears reporting that there was fraudulent activity on his card. A sale of $ 131.78 was made in Japan. There was then another attempt for $4243.68 that was denied.

  • Occurred between 12:00 PM 12/17 and 4:00 PM 1/9

Victim reports that he made a purchase with a personal check in the amount of $130.00 for a computer program. Upon opening the package he determined the disc to be a counterfeit. The victim had made several attempts to contact the seller by internet but has not received any response.

January 8, 2008

Arrest

  • Occurred at 12:36 PM Muddy River

A juvenile was arrested and charged with Indecent Assault and Battery.

Police responded to reports of a woman being assaulted while jogging along the Muddy River. The suspect was identified, by the victim, and arrested for assault and battery.

  • Occurred at 1:01 AM Chestnut St.

Nageebha Bello, 20 yrs., was arrested for Domestic Assault and Battery and Malicious Destruction of Property.

Police responded to reports of a dispute between a couple and that a female had damaged her ex-boyfriend’s car. After Bello’s ex-boyfriend dropped her off at home, the two got into a verbal fight which led to Bello assaulting her ex-boyfriend. While waiting for the police to arrive Bello kicked and damaged the rear tail light of her ex-boyfriends car.

  • Occurred at 11:23 PM 30 Harvard Ave

Gene Jackson, 40 yrs., was arrested and charged with Trespassing.

Police responded to reports of a man trespassing. Owners of the building stated that Mr. Jackson had been sleeping in the buildings basement for the past week. When asked to leave Mr. Jackson became verbally abusive towards the owner of the building. When police asked Mr. Jackson for identification he said that he did not have any form of identification and gave police a false name. Mr. Jackson was arrested for trespassing.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 3:00 PM and 4:15 PM Beacon St.

Victim reports that sometime over night a desktop computer was stolen from a trailer at the construction sight. The lock that was used to lock the trailer was missing. There was no sign of forced entry.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 12:01 AM 12/1/07 and 12:00 AM 12/20 43 Garrison

Victim reports that at the beginning of last month an LCD projector, DVD player, and wireless broadband transmitter were missing from the Brookline Community Health Center.

  • Occurred between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM 38 Fuller St.

Victim reports that sometime in the morning his bicycle was stolen from the rear of his garage. The bicycle was unlocked.

  • Occurred at 7:10 PM 312 Harvard Ave

Victim reports that while she left her stroller unattended her wallet was stolen. Taken was her wallet containing 3 credit cards, a personal check in the amount of $60 and approximately $80 in various gift cards.

Fraud

  • Occurred at 11:00 AM 216 Tappan St.

Victim reports that a purchase of $30.00 was fraudulently made with his bank account. The victim is sure he did not make the purchase for he was at school at the time.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:00 PM 1/6 and 7:17 AM 1/7 83 Harvard St.

Victim reports that sometime over night, his radio was stolen from his vehicle. The door to his car was still locked and no windows had been smashed. The value of the radio is approximately $138.00

  • Occurred between 5:45 PM 1/6 and 7:45 AM 1/7 1210 Boylston

Victim reports sometime during the day over $2000.00 in cash were stolen from his car. His wallet, which he left in the center console, was found on the passenger’s seat.

  • Occurred between 2:00 PM 1/4 and 8:30 AM 1/7 95 Walnut St.

Victim reports that sometime during the past few days eight ladders and cables had been stolen from the job site that he had been working at.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 11:10 AM and 12:00 PM 33 Ackers Ave.

Victim reported that sometime in the past year her diamond ring and gold pocket watch was stolen from her home. The back door was left unlocked in the past.

Graffiti

  • Occurred between 5:00 PM 1/6 and 9:00 AM 1/7 194 Boylston St.

Victim reported that a wall on the old Lincoln School had been spray painted. Police observed one “tag” that was sprayed with black spray paint.

Assault

  • Occurred at 12:28 PM 50 Longwood Ave

Police responded to reports of a fight between two males at a construction site on Longwood Ave. The two men were verbally arguing which then escalated to a physical fight.

Fraud

  • Occurred at 2:21 AM Beacon St

Victim reported that someone had used the routing number from her account to make several fraudulent purchases. Several checks were made totaling over $150.00.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 7:00 PM and 10:30 PM 78 Lancaster 0063

Victim reported that sometime while his car was parked outside his friend’s home his vehicles front driver’s window had been smashed. The holder to his GPS service which was glued to the window was on the driver’s seat and his glove compartment was open. His GPS was not taken for it was not in the car at the time.

January 5, 2008

Larceny

  • Occurred between 6:00 PM 1/4 and 12:39 PM 1/5 121 Salisbury

Victim reported that sometime over night her vehicles passenger side window had been smashed and that her GPS service was missing. No further items were taken.

  • Occurred between 3:30 PM 1/4 and 6:30 PM 1/4 112 Centre St.

Victim reported that her purse containing $3-$4 in cash, 2 MasterCard credit cards, house keys, and several other person effects were stolen.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM 639 Chestnut Hill Ave.

Victim reported that when he returned home he noticed that two of the basement windows had been smashed. Upon searching the basement he did not find anything missing, but he did notice that a sleeping bag and a pillow had been unrolled and put on the floor.

Warrant

  • Occurred at 3:48 PM 17 Tabor Pl.

Police responded to reports form the Lawrence Police Department that a run-away juvenile was staying with her boyfriend. The juvenile was placed under arrest for a CHINS warrant and was later turned over to her foster mother.

January 6, 2008

Arrest

  • Occurred at 5:59 PM 1195 Boylston ST.

Thomas McLaughlin, 22 yrs, arrested and charged with possession of heroin.

Christine Wunder, 21 yrs, arrested and charged with possession of heroin

Police responded to reports that two people, one female and one male, were found in the restroom of the gas station doing drugs. Officers arrested the subjects for possession of heroin.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred at 1:30 AM 136 Wolcott Rd.

Victim reported hearing several loud bangs to his house and seeing an unknown vehicle driving away from his home the night before. In the morning he noticed that his house had been egged. The aluminum siding of his home was damaged.
