Crime Report (6/29/07)

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 2:37 a.m. (6/28/07)- 1530 Beacon Street

A suspect was placed under arrest for Domestic Abuse and B&E of a Building with Intent to Commit a Misdemeanor (trespass). The suspect and his girlfriend had a verbal argument that eventually escalated to a physical altercation. During the verbal argument, The suspect left the victim’s apartment, but later forced his way back in. The physical altercation began when the victim attempted to remove him from the apartment again. The victim stated that she was struck several times in the face and arm, and was also put into a headlock during the confrontation. She bit the suspect’s arms in attempts to free herself. Once released, the victim went to call the police. This matter was dropped in court.

LARCENY

  • Between 3:30 p.m. (6/27) and 7:00 a.m. (6/28)- Beacon St/ Charles St

The owner of Mobile Mason Corporation reported that several tools (worth up to approx. $4,000) had been taken from a tool box at the above location. The tool box has two master locks. When the owner arrived in the morning he noticed one lock was missing, and the other was unlocked, although it did not appear to be tampered with. The owner and one other employee are the only two people with keys to the box. There are no suspects at this time due to the amount of people working at the job site.

  • Occurred at 2:15 (6/28/07)- 1620 Beacon Street

According to the owner of Velvet ribbon, a suspect had entered the store and took two skirts. During the time the owner went to the back of the store, she heard the suspect hurry out the front door. Upon inventory, the owner discovered the two skirts were missing from the area the suspect had been standing. The suspect was described as a black female in her 30s, with her hair pulled back, wearing a long floral skirt, yellow top, and carrying a Banana Republic bag. The vehicle that the suspect was seen entering was a green Mercury Mountaineer.

  • Between 7:00 a.m. (6/8) and 2:13 p.m. (6/28)- 14 Dummer Street

A manager at The Cottage Farm Program reported that $50-$100 has been missing from the petty cash box on several separate occasions. When confronted, no employees came forward with any information.

  • Between 6:00 p.m. (6/24) and 6:00 a.m. (6/27)- 36 Harvard Street

The victim reported the larceny of a bicycle. The bike had been locked to a cement pole in the basement at the above location. Upon returning to his bike, the victim observed that the lock had been cut.

FRAUD

  • Between 10:33 a.m. (6/25) and 10:33 a.m. (6/26)- Gibbs Street

The victim reported that several unauthorized charges were made to his credit card/debit card. All of the charges were ATM withdrawals totaling $1402.00.

Crime Report (6/28/07)

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 6:02 a.m. (6/27/07)- 25 Washington Street

Gregory Joyce of Dorchester was arrested for a default warrant for failure to appear. Joyce was arrested while walking in the area of the above location.

BURGLARY

  • Between 7:00 p.m. (6/19) and 8:00 a.m. (6/20/07)- 193 Harvard Street

The manager of Laundry Express reported that a side room located within the laundry mat had been broken into. This particular room is where the money is kept. The side room door was damaged and broken, and the drawer that holds the cash box had been pried open. Approximately $250 in cash was taken.

B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Occurred at 2:51 p.m. (6/27/07)- 167 Willard Road

The victim reported that loose change was missing from the center console of her motor vehicle. There was no damage to the vehicle, nor any evidence of forced entry. The victim stated that she could not remember whether or not the vehicle had been locked the night before.

  • Between 7:30 p.m. (6/25) and 5:30 a.m. (6/26)- 19 Hilltop Road

The victim reported that a digital tape recorded was taken from the center console of her motor vehicle. A laptop computer and digital camera were also removed from the cargo area. The vehicle had not been locked.

Crime Reporty (6/27/07)

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 1:46 a.m. (6/26/07)- 83 Brook Street

Robert Shea of Brookline was placed under arrest for larceny from a building. While Shea had used another tenant’s telephone, he took $80 and a credit card from their wallet. The wallet had been on a table next to the telephone that Shea was using. Shea stated that he later threw out the credit card in Boston after using it at a CVS.

MALICIOUS DAMAGE

  • Occurred at 6:48 a.m. (6/26/07)- 103 Griggs Road

The victim reported that a significant portion of her vehicle’s rear window and door were broken. A small rock was observed on the ground in the area of the rear bumper. No items were disturbed within the vehicle.

BURGLARY

  • Between 10:00 p.m. (6/19) and 11:00 a.m. (6/20)- 234 Harvard Street

The victim reported an attempted B&E of Kashmir (Market). The bottom half of the front door had three cracks, and there were three indentations on the side of the door. It appeared as if the door had been attempted to be pried open.

Crime Report (6/25/07)

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 7:34 a.m. (6/21/07)- 706 Washington Street

Brandon Wellington of Dorchester was arrested for being Not Duly Licensed.

  • Occurred at 11:46 a.m. (6/21/07)- 350 Washington Street

Carlos Furtado of Brookline was placed under arrest for being Not Duly Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to operate a motor Vehicle.

  • Occurred at 1:26 a.m. (6/23/07)- Harvard Street/ Beacon Street

Rafael Outland of Georgia of placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension. Outland also received citations for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating with no headlights.

  • Occurred at 2:41 a.m. (6/24/07)- 525 Harvard Street

Matthew Aiello of Weymouth was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Aiello also received citations for failing to submit a motor vehicle for inspection and marked lanes violation.

  • Between 12:35 p.m. and 12:40 p.m. (6/20/07)- 0 Churchill Street

The reporting officer had observed Julio Garcio of Dorchester, make an illegal left turn onto Beacon Street. The officer activated her blue lights in order to make a traffic stop. Garcio did not stop and continued to drive to the dead end of Churchill Street, at which point he put his vehicle into reverse and then got out. He ran through the trees into the parking area behind 1060-1200 Beacon Street and in the direction of Halls Pond. The officer put the vehicle in park and gave chase to Garcia. Multiple units responded to the area to look for the suspect. He was eventually seen and identified at the intersection of Kent Street and Beech Road. It was ultimately determined that Garcia had used his brother’s vehicle, but had a revoked driver’s license. A pat frisk of Garcia revealed a blue folding knife. Garcia was placed under arrested for failing to stop for a police officer, carrying a dangerous weapon (knife), and multiple traffic offenses. While inventorying Garcia’s property at the station, a small plastic bag containing heroin was found in a cigarette pack on top of the cigarettes. Garcia was additionally charged with possession of a class-A drug.

BURGLARY

  • Between 10:00 a.m. (6/17) and 9:00 p.m. (6/20)- 56 Mason Terrace

The victim reported that an unknown suspect had attempted to break into her home while she had been away. The glass panes of her rear door had been broken and the door lock and dead bolt were unlocked. The suspect had not gained entry due to a third lock that was not defeated.

LARCENY

  • Between 10:21 a.m. (6/19) and 12:00 p.m. (6/20)- 18 Browne Street

The victim reported that a bird bath was stolen from her yard. The bird bath was gray-colored, made from resin ceramic, and about 20 inches tall. The bird bath had been in a common walkway of 18 and 26 Browne Street.

  • Between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. (6/21/07)- 155 Harvard Street

The victim reported that she believes her wallet was stolen from her backpack during her times in either Stop and Shop or Trader Joe’s Supermarket. The victim described her wallet as a black leather bi-fold with red on the top portion.

B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Between 1:30 p.m. and 3:25 p.m. (6/22)- Pond Avenue/ Allerton Street

The passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle was smashed and a Magellan GPS unit was stolen.

  • Between 8:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. (6/22/07)- 1200 Beacon Street

The right passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle was smashed while parked just before the taxi stand in front of the Holiday Inn. The TomTom GPS unit that had been attached to the front windshield was stolen from the vehicle.

  • Between 6:00 p.m. (6/22) and 5:00 p.m. (6/23)- 49 Marion Street

The front passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle had been broken. The main part of the victim’s GPS unit was taken from the closed center console, along with the mounting system which had been attached to the front windshield.

GRAFFITI

  • Occurred at 11:19 a.m. (6/24/07)- 0 Park Street

Graffiti was reported on a “Do Not Enter” sign on Park Street. The graffiti was done using white paint.

  • Between 12:00 p.m. (6/18) and 4:15 p.m. (6/20)- 389 Washington St

The manager of the Clothesline Laundromat reported a large tag had been keyed into the two front window panes on the left side of the Laundromat’s front entrance.

Crime Report (6/21/07)

B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Between 10:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (6/20/07)- 1050 Commonwealth Ave

The passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle was smashed while parked behind Bob’s Wilderness House. It appeared as though the suspect had used an instrument to pry the lower left hand corner of the window, causing it to break. The victim reported that her gym bag was taken which had contained a pair of Nike sneakers and assorted sport clothing.

The following three reports occurred at approximately the same time and location. The overhead to the building’s garage had been broken and unable to be closed the day before. The garage had been unsecured the entire night.

  • Between 7:00 p.m. (6/19) and 8:10 a.m. (6/20/07)- 30 Gardner Road

The passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle had been smashed. A XM satellite radio and an IMB ThinkPad laptop were stolen.

  • Between 7:00 p.m. (6/19) and 1:51 a.m. (6/20/07)- 30 Gardner Road

The victim reported that his motor vehicle had been broken into. His driver’s side window had been smashed and his Garmin GPS unit had been stolen.

  • Between 7:00 p.m. (6/19) and 1:52 p.m. (6/20/07)- 30 Gardner Road

The victim’s vehicle’s driver side window was smashed and a GPS unit was reported missing.

Crime Report (6/20/07)

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 9:37 p.m. (6/19/07)- Park Street/ Marion Street

Rogelio Serratos of Waltham was placed under arrest for operating without a license. Serratos also received a citation for a one way violation.

MALICIOUS DAMAGE

  • Occurred at 5:03 a.m. (6/19/07)- 1316 Beacon Street

A rock was thrown through the front window of Dunkin Donuts. There was no apparent entry made into the store.

LARCENY

  • Between 1:20 pm (6/18) and 8:30 am (6/19)- 361 Brookline Public Library

A library employee reported that her digital camera was stolen from her locked office at the main Brookline Library branch. The camera had been in her desk drawer. The victim stated that her office is always locked, but all library staff have access to the office by a key swipe system.

  • Between 8:00 pm (6/15/07) and 11:55 am (6/19/07)- 1100 West Rox Pk

The victim reported that her Trek mountain bicycle was stolen from her open garage.

B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Between 12:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. (6/19/07)- 295 Russett Road

The victim’s locked motor vehicle was broken into, and an I Pod and an I Pod charger were stolen. There was no damage done to the vehicle. The victim reported that his two parent’s cars were also broken into at the same time.

  • Between 10:00 p.m. (6/12/07) and 8:26 p.m. (6/13/07)- 127 Chestnut St

The victim reported his motor vehicle had been broken into and the steering column had been broken. It appeared the window had been pried from the frame and pulled back so that the suspect good reach in and unlock the door.

BURGLARY

  • Between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. (6/19/07)- 111 Westbourne Terrace

The victim reported that her home had been broken into. Her Dell laptop and assorted jewelry were stolen from her bedroom. The suspect had gained entry by cutting the window screen to the bedroom and opening the window, which had been left slightly open. The suspect exited through the front door. The victim’s two roommates were not missing anything.

Crime Report (6/19/07)

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 12:05 p.m. (6/18/07)- 1302 Beacon Street

Juvenile 1 and Juvenile 2 of Brookline were arrested for Shoplifting from Mint Julep on Beacon Street. The store owner had observed one of the juveniles with unpaid merchandise in her bag. Both juveniles were also issued verbal no trespass orders by the owner.

BURGLARY

  • Between 11:30 a.m. and 4:43 p.m. (6/18/07)- 23 Hurd Road

At the above time and location, the victim’s apartment had been broken into. The victim stated that most of her jewelry was taken from her bedroom along with some loose change. It seemed that the point of entry was the front door. The door’s locks appeared to be pried open by the use of some sort of pry tool and body pressure.

Crime Report (6/18/07)

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 12:33 p.m. (6/16/07)

A caller had advised police of an argument occurring within the apartment building with a possibility of physical violence. Police responded to the scene and interviewed the victim and suspect, David Sanchez of Dorchester. The victim stated that Sanchez and she had pushed each other during their argument. During the interview with Sanchez, his actions caused police to fear for their and the victim’s safety, therefore a pat frisk was performed. A knife was found in Sanchez’s front pocket, and a hard object was felt in his back pocket. When asked what the object was, Sanchez responded “I’ll get it” and lunged forward, turning away from the officer while reaching into his pocket. Sanchez was ordered to stop moving, but refused to comply. The officer than restrained him, and removed the object from his pocket. Sanchez continued to resist the control of the officer. The object in his back pocket was an ammunition clip containing bullets for a handgun. During the search for the gun in the immediate area, Sanchez continued to refuse to comply with requests made by the officers and caused a further disturbance by yelling. Sanchez was arrested for Domestic Assault and Battery and was also charged with resisting arrest. Sanchez also received a citation for possession of the ammunition.

BURGLARY

  • Between 9:30 p.m. (6/14/07) and 7:37 a.m. (6/15/07)- 107 Browne St

The victim reported that her upstairs neighbor had contacted her and informed her that there had been a man on a ladder at the victim’s back window. When the suspect saw the neighbor, he had fled the scene. Approximately two hours after this incident, the victim’s step-son arrived home from work and observed his bedroom had been ransacked. It appeared that the suspect had returned to the rear of the building and climbed the ladder to the first floor apartment, raised the screen, and pushed in the window. A portable Playstation (PSP), 8 DVDs, and 4 hats were stolen from the bedroom. The suspect was described as a white male, average height, wearing a hat and a small knapsack.

MALICIOUS DAMAGE

  • Between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. (6/15/07)- 1620 Beacon Street

The rear window of the victim’s vehicle had been shattered with a rock.

  • Between 1:49 a.m. and 2:05 a.m. (6/17/07)- 62 Cypress Street

The victims reported that a small group of teenagers had been in the area of Cypress and Elm Street. The group had been drinking beers and playing basketball in the streets. They had all dispersed when a light had come on. As they were dispersing, the victims heard a window break. When one of the victims went to the front porch of the building, she observed a storm window on the first floor had been broken and a beer can on the floor.

  • Between 11:05 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. (6/17/07)- Sterns Road

The rear window of the victim’s vehicle had been smashed. The victim observed a blue Gatorade bottle in the rear seat, but was unaware if it had been used to break the window or if it had been left there by her son.

LARCENY

  • Occurred at 1:35 p.m. (6/16/07)- 345 Harvard Street

A woman had stolen an infant hat from a kiosk’s display at the Brookline Arts Fair. The kiosk owner had observed the suspect remove the hat and stuff it either into her pocket or down her pants. The owner approached the suspect and asked that she either pay for the hat or return it. The suspect refused and left. She sat down on a bench in front of the Devotion Playground, where she was later approached by the police. During questioning of the suspect she had been very evasive, but it was eventually determined that she had taken the hat from the kiosk. A request for the suspect to be summonsed into court for Shoplifting/Larceny will be made.

ASSAULT

  • Between 2:58 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. (6/16/07)- 64 Linden Street

At the above time and location, a group of neighbors had gotten into a physical fight due to a parking dispute. A vehicle had been blocking the driveway belonging to one of the suspects. When he approached the vehicle owner about moving his car, a verbal argument began. The argument escalated into a shoving match, during which the vehicle owner’s brother became involved. A request for all parties to be summonsed into court for Assault and Battery has been made.

FRAUD

  • Occurred at 9:00 p.m. (6/15/07)- 52 Kendall Street

The victim reported the unauthorized use of her credit card. The card at been used on at least four separate occasions at four different locations.

Crime Report (6/15/07)

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 10:17 a.m. (6/14/07)

Judith Reed of Brookline was arrested for Domestic Assault and Battery and Assault and Battery by means of a dangerous weapon. Reed had attempted to strangle her mother. She had also swung her purse at her mother’s head. When officers attempted to question and arrest Reed, she reacted violently, striking a number of officers. Reed was also arrested for resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer.

  • Occurred at 7:37 p.m. (6/14/07)

John Clarke of Dedham was placed under arrest for Domestic Assault and Battery. He allegedly pushed his ex-wife into a shopping carriage while inside her apartment. Clarke appeared to be intoxicated at the time of his arrest.

ROBBERY

  • Occurred at 1:26 p.m. (6/13/07)- 371 Harvard Street

The victim reported that while she stood in front of 371 Harvard, a group of 8-10 black males approximately 15-17 years of age also came to the front of the store. Four of these youths entered the store. At this time, a youth that had stayed outside put his hand in one of the victim’s coat pocket and tried to remove what was inside. The victim stated that she put her hand inside her pocket to keep him from taking her keys and glasses. The suspect took his hand out of her pocket and pushed her to the ground. The group of youths then fled. A witness who had been driving by when the incident occurred described one suspect as a black male, wearing a red t-shirt, long shorts, and a grey hoodie.

LARCENY

  • Between 9:00 p.m. (6/11/07) and 10:00 p.m. (6/12/07)- Park Street

The victim reported bicycle was stolen from her open garage parking space. The bike had been left unlocked. The bike was described as a red Jamis women’s bicycle, with a black seat and a ripped black brake cushion.

  • Between 8:50 p.m. and 8:57 p.m. (6/13/07)- 155 Harvard Street

The assistant manager at Stop and Shop reported that two suspects had walked to the front of the store with a duffel bag filled with assorted meats and baby formula. The suspects walked out of the store and got into a red station wagon in the parking lot. The assistant manager stated that she approached car and tried to open the door, but the suspects locked the doors and drove away. The assistant manager was only able to describe the suspects as two black females.

  • Between 8:35 a.m. (6/13/07) and 8:35 a.m. (6/14/07)- 1370 Beacon St

The victim reported that she had left her credit card at the FedEx Store. When the victim notified the credit card company, she was informed that her card had been used at various stores in Watertown.

  • Occurred at 11:30 a.m. (6/14/07)- 900 Commonwealth Avenue

A cashier at CVS pharmacy reported that suspect had approached the register and asked him to cut the tag off a pair of sunglasses. At this time, the suspect turned around and walked toward the exit. The cashier told the suspect that he had to pay for the sunglasses. The suspect responded by saying, “Catch me if you can”, and continued out the exit. Officers were later able to stop the suspect. He will be summonsed into court.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

  • Between 4:00 p.m. (6/13/07) and 8:59 a.m. (6/14/07)- 1343 Beacon St

The victim reported that her vehicle was stolen at the above time and location. According to records, the vehicle was not towed or ticketed.

Crime Report (6/14/07)

MALICIOUS DAMAGE

  • Between 7:30 a.m. (6/12) and 12:00 p.m. (6/13)- 1 Beaconsfield MBTA

The driver’s side window of the victim’s vehicle was smashed while parked in the Beaconsfield parking lot. Nothing was taken.

LARCENY

  • Between 6:00 p.m. and 6:54 p.m. (6/9/07)- 1000 Boylston Street

At the above time and location, that victim left her billfold on the check-out counter at Putterham Market. The victim went home and realized that she had forgotten her billfold on the counter. Upon returning to the store, the victim and a clerk searched for the billfold, but were unable to locate it. The billfold had contained $60-$80, a Bank of America card, and the victim’s driver’s license.

Crime Report (6/13/07)

ARRESTS
  • Occurred at 1:50 p.m. (6/12/07)- 910 Boylston Street
Aaron Eisenberg was arrested and given citations for the following: 1) Failing to Keep Right, 2) Crossing Solid Double Lines, 3) Speeding, 4) Failure to Stop for a Police Officer, 5) Operating to Endanger, 6) Unsafe Turn (right), and 7) Failure to Use Turn Signals.

BURGLARY
  • Between 5:00 p.m. (6/11/07) and 2:03 am (6/12/07)- 115 Greenough St
At the above time and location, a security gate in the Brookline High School cafeteria was pried open. Three food cases had been forced open and there were food wrappers scattered on the floor. Storage cabinets and the cash registers were opened, but nothing appeared to be missing. An investigation of the area revealed a broom handle that was most likely used to pry open the security gate.
LARCENY
  • Between 7:00 p.m. (6/11/07) and 8:44 a.m. (6/12/07)- Davis Ave
The victim’s bicycle was stolen from her shed. A witness stated that the night before the victim’s bicycle was stolen; he had observed a suspect in the backyard. The suspect stated that he was only hiding from a friend. At this time, another man had been on a bicycle in the next yard. The witness described the suspect as a Hispanic male, 17 years of age, thin build, with medium to dark skin, and a “corn row” hair style. The other man on the bicycle was described as a black male, approximately 17 years of age, dark skinned, thin to medium build, wearing a white “do rag”.
  • Between 9:00 a.m. (6/6/07) and 12:39 p.m. (6/7/07)- 400 Heath Street
At the above time and location, two LCD projectors were missing from Pine Manor’s anti-theft tether locations inside two Hayden Hall classrooms.
MALICIOUS DAMAGE
  • Between 10:00 p.m. (6/2/07) and 6:00 a.m. (6/4/07)- 75 Harvard St
Spa Restaurant’s front door lower window panel was smashed.
B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE
  • Between 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. (6/12/07)- 49 Highland Road
The right passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle was smashed and a GPS device was missing.

Crime Report (6/12/07)

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 2:32 a.m. (6/11/07)- Boylston Street/ Chestnut Hill Avenue

A road rage incident involving a knife was reported to the police. The occupants of a Volvo and Jeep were involved in the altercation. The passenger of the Volvo, Pawel Antonik of Newton, had allegedly brandished a knife when confronting the occupants of the Jeep. Antonik was placed under arrest for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and disorderly conduct.

  • Occurred at 3:16 p.m. (6/11/07)- Francis Street

Juvenile of Dorchester was arrested for a warrant. During apprehension, the juvenile was uncooperative and also attempted to run while waiting for the transport vehicle. He was additionally charged with resisting arrest.

ASSAULT

  • Occurred at 9:35 p.m. (6/11/07)- 131 Carlton Street

The victim reported that as she approached her parked vehicle in the area of 131 Carlton Street, she was attacked by what she believed to be two females. The victim stated that the suspects punched, scratched, and kicked her in various areas of her body. She described the suspects as two females, both 5’5”, one chubby, the other medium build, both wearing dark clothing and dark ski knit masks.

MALICIOUS DAMAGE

  • Between 2:00 p.m. (6/8/07) and 7:00 a.m. (6/11/07)- 1 Incinerator Dr

Two recycling trucks had thief windshields smashed while parked at the Transfer Station over the weekend.

  • Between 2:00 p.m. (6/8/07) and 7:00 a.m. (6/11/07)- 1 Incinerator Dr

An office window at the Transfer Station was broken with an unknown object over the weekend. Entry was not gained.

B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Occurred at 5:30 p.m. (6/11/07)- Lenox Street

The rear passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle had been smashed. A witness had heard the victim’s car alarm sound at approximately 5:30 pm. Nothing was disturbed within the vehicle.

  • Occurred at 3:24 a.m. (5/25/07)- Bonard Road

At the above time and location, the victim was awakened by the sound of a vehicle’s open door chimes. When the victim looked out his window, he observed a suspect inside his own vehicle. The victim and another resident of the apartment went out to confront the suspect. The suspect was no longer in the victim’s vehicle in the driveway, but had gone into another vehicle parked in the street. The victim yelled to the suspect who then took off running. It appears nothing was taken from the vehicles. The victim described the suspect as a black of Hispanic male, late 20’s, approx. 5’10” and 225 lbs, wearing a black leather jacket, baggy black khakis, and a red baseball cap.

  • Between 10:00 pm (5/29/07) and 11:00 am (5/30/07)- Arlington Rd

The front passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle had been smashed. A waist pack containing a passport and driver’s license was taken from the front seat. A check of the area did not turn up the victim’s property, but a brief case containing papers of another victim’s was found. The victim was contacted and he stated that his brief case had been stolen from his vehicle while parked on Beresford Road the day before.

GRAFFITI

  • Between 6:00 pm (6/6/07) and 10:53 am (6/11/07)- 11 Longwood Ave

The brick wall outside the building at the above location was tagged. The wall had three P’s with a R underneath written with what appeared to be a blue magic marker.

  • Between 12:00 p.m. (6/4/07) and 7:02 p.m. (6/11/07)- 10 Dwight Street

The alley at the above location had been spray painted in five different areas. One tag included “SWEET 2007”.

Crime Report (6/11/07)

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 3:30 p.m. (6/8/07)- 301 Harvard Street

Kevin Hudson and Nazario Martinez were arrested for Shoplifting and possession of burglarious tools. Sprint Store employees reported that the two suspects had stolen a phone from the store. Hudson and Martinez were later observed in the Verizon Wireless store attempting to shoplift another cell phone. A search of both persons revealed burglarious tools, including a screwdriver and box cutter. Hudson was also in possession of a blank check belonging to an identified victim. Hudson was additionally charged with Receiving Stolen Property.

  • Occurred at 2:00 a.m. (6/9/07)- Kent Street/ Beacon Street

Luis Morales of Brookline was arrested for Operating without a license, and also received a citation for marked lanes violation.

  • Occurred at 8:26 a.m. (6/9/07)- Boylston St/ Dunster Road

Jose De Freitas of Roslindale was placed under arrest for being Not Duly Licensed and speeding.

  • Occurred at 2:53 a.m. (6/10/07)- 1180 Beacon Street

Michael Perrotta of Brockton was arrested for a default warrant.

B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Occurred at 12:30 a.m. (6/6/07) and 2:00 a.m. (6/7/07)- Harvard St

The passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle was smashed. A Garmin GPS system was missing.

  • Between 9:00 p.m. (6/9/07) and 9:00 a.m. (6/10/07)- Centre Street

The passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle had been broken and a bag of change worth $15 was taken.

  • Between 9:00 p.m. (6/80/70) and 4:24 p.m. (6/10/07)- Centre Street

While taking a report for a B&E&L of another motor vehicle, the officer observed a car in the lot that had been broken into. The car had a broken driver side window. The victim was contacted and stated that she does not believe that anything was missing from the vehicle at this time.

  • Between 11:00 a.m. and 7:20 p.m. (6/10/07)- Washington Street

The front passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle had been smashed. A portable Garmin GPS system and cell phone were stolen.

LARCENY

  • Between 12:00 p.m. (6/3/07) and 7:00 a.m. (6/4/07)- 115 Greenough St

At the above time and location, the victim stated that she had used a third floor staff restroom at Brookline High School to change her clothing after the graduation ceremony. The victim took off her sting of pearls necklace and a pair of pearl earrings, and placed them in an antique silver jewelry box. She placed the box on the side of the sink in the bathroom. The victim reported that she must have forgotten the box there because when she returned home she realized that it was missing. The box and the jewelry were no longer in the bathing on Monday, June 4. The necklace is described as an eighteen inch, antique, fresh water string with a gold clasp. The earrings are antique pearl stud earrings. Both items are believed to be about 100 years old and have been passed down for several generations. The jewelry box is described as a round, small, silver box that unscrews for items to be placed inside. The top is engraved with the initials "LMW".

  • Between 2:26 p.m. (6/7/07) and 7:00 a.m. (6/8/07)- Greenway Ct

A package addressed to the victim was opened and the contents were taken. The victim observed the opened package in the foyer of her apartment building.

  • Between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. (6/8/07)- Griggs Road

The victim’s bicycle was stolen from the bike rack located at Pierce Park. The bike had been locked to the rack. It was described as a blue 21-speed Mongoose with knobby tires and a bell on the left handlebar.

  • Between 12:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. (6/6/07)- Jordan Road

The victim reported that his 1992 “specialized Hard Rock” bicycle was missing. The victim had left his garage door open.

  • Between 9:00 pm (6/9/07) and 11:00 am (6/10/07)- Middlesex Rd

The victim’s black hand bag was taken from her front porch. The victim reported that that she had set her hand bag down on the porch while she was in the process of moving. She forgot about the bag and left it on the porch. When she returned the next morning the bag had been stolen.


MALICIOUS DAMAGE

  • Between 12:30 p.m. (6/8/07) and 9:00 a.m. (6/9/07)- 1 Incinerator Road

A trailer/office belonging to the town of Brookline was damaged. The window on the front door had been shattered. The perpetrator did not appear to have gained entrance.

  • Between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. (6/8/07)- 227 Washington Street

The victim reported that an Asian male suspect had cut the top to her convertible. She and two other witnesses had observed the suspect committing the act. The suspect will be summonsed into court for the damage.

ARSON

  • Occurred at 11:29 p.m. (6/9/07)- 400 Washington Street

A dumpster fire was reported behind CVS. A witness observed a small white car turn off of Cypress Street and pass through the rear parking lot of CVS before turning onto Washington Street.

  • Occurred at 12:02 a.m. (6/10/07)- 115 Greenough Street

An outside trash fire was reported at Brookline High School. Two witnesses stated that they had observed three white males surround the trash barrel and set it on fire. The suspects had been wearing dark clothing and riding two bicycles. Two of the suspects had been on one bike together.

Crime Report (6/8/07)

Arrest

Occurred at 7:26 pm (06/06/07)- 72 Cypress St

Steflen Michaliszyn of Medford was arrested for operating without a license. Michaliszyn received a citation for providing a false name to a police officer and traffic offenses.


Occurred at 10:00pm (06/07/07)- 4 Brookline Ave

Michael Neely of Roxbury was arrested for unarmed robbery. An employee of the Village Market stated that Neely and another male had entered the store. Neely stood in front of the counter and distracted the clerk with questions as the second male went behind the counter and took three packs of cigarettes. Neely and the other male then left the store. When speaking with Officers, it was found that Neely had a warrant for his arrest. Neely had attempted to use an ID with a different name and was also charged with giving a false name to a police officer. Officers were unable to locate the other male involved at this time.

Occurred at 1:16 am (06/08/07)- 665 Washington St

Lyndia Lewis of Roxbury was arrested for operating on a suspended license. Richard Jones was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol when a bottle of alcohol was found on his person.

Occurred at 8:43 am (06/08/07)- Independence Rd/ Russett Rd

Paulo Pereira of Framingham was arrested for not being duly licensed to operate a motor vehicle. It was also found that Pereira had a warrant.

Larceny

Occurred at 5:57pm (06/07/07)- Commonwealth Ave

Employees of CVS reported that a customer had attempted to purchase a disposable camera with a fake American Express gift check. When the clerk attempted to authorize the check, the customer walked out of the store with the camera and continued on Commonwealth Ave.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 2:58am (06/07/07) 1010 Commonwealth Ave

Justin Goodwin of Revere was arrested for operating with a suspended license. Goodwin’s passenger, Corey Olenik was arrested for possession of marijuana.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 10:30pm (06/06/07) and 6:41am (06/07/07)- Harvard St

The front door of Madras Masala was found with a smashed window pane by a neighboring business. Officers found the door still locked upon arrival and rolls of coins on the floor. Officers entered the business, but did not find anyone in the store. The cash register was found open and empty along with several empty plastic lottery scratch ticket dispensers displaced from the wall. Officers were unable to make contact with the owners of the business at the time of the report, so it is unknown what was missing.

B&E&L of a Motor Vehicle

  • Between 5:00pm (05/29/07) and 12:00pm (05/30/07)- Newton Street

The victim stated that some time between the above times an i-Pod and a purse were stolen out of their unlocked motor vehicle. The purse was later found in a yard nearby.

Larceny

  • Between 12:00pm (06/05/07) and 5:06 pm (06/06/07) Commonwealth Ave

Employees of the Ski Market stated that two bicycles were stolen from the store.

  • Between 8:00am and 5:30pm (06/06/07) West Roxbury Pkwy

Victim stated that she received a watch for a present. The watch was left in a bookcase, when the victim returned home the watch was missing. Nothing else was missing from the house.

  • Between 8:00pm (06/06/07) and 3:30am (06/07/07)-St. Paul St/Parkman St

The victim stated that both xenon headlights from his vehicle had been removed. There was damaged to the fender from the removal of the headlights.

Scam Alert

  • Occurred 9:32 am (06/06/07) - Beacon Street

The victim stated that she received two separate phone calls from a male stating that he worked for Social Security and that tree hundred people were selected to receive $300. for six months because they paid their taxes on time. The victim stated that the caller asked her to verify her phone number, address and bank account information. The victim would not provider her bank information. The victim stated that the caller became rude and vulgar. The victim contacted Social Security after the two phone calls and was advised that the phone calls were not coming from their department.

Crime Report (6/6/07)

Arrest

  • Occurred at 4:37 am (06/06/07) Griggs Rd/Griggs Terr

Officers observed the vehicle in the area several times. When the registration was entered into the computer, it was found the pick up truck was stolen. Officers were able to stop the vehicle at Griggs Rd just at Griggs Terr. After removing the three from the vehicle, a search of the vehicle found a back pack and two purses. One purse contained a glassine baggy with what is believed to be cocaine. Officers also found a small digital scale with a white powdery residue and numerous power tools. During transport a suspect was found with two yellow pills clenched in his hands, and three more were found in the seat when he was removed.

The owner of the vehicle was contacted and arrived at the police station to identify items that belonged to him. The owner stated that his vehicle was stolen on 6/4 at a little peach in Everett with the keys in the ignition.

Arson

  • Occurred at 12:05 am (06/06/07)- Beacon St

Brookline Fire responded to the rear of the Citizens bank for a dumpster that had been set on fire.

  • Occurred at 11:20 a.m. (06/05/07)- Dudley St/ Warrant St

Neto Sinesio of Canton was placed under arrest for not being duly licensed to operate a motor vehicle. Siensio was issued a citation for speeding.


B&E&L of Motor Vehicle

· Between 4:55 p.m. and 910p.m. (06/04/07)- Brookline Ave/Aspinwall Ave

The rear vent window of the victim’s car was smashed, and the radio was taken out of the dashboard.

· Between 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm (06/04/07)- Brookline Ave/River Rd

Rear passenger window of the victim’s car was smashed. The victim’s radio was taken out of the dashboard, along with an amp that was attached to the and under the seat. The victim also stated that he had a back-up camera on his front dashboard that was stolen.

Larceny

· Between 10:00 pm (06/01/07) and 09:00 am (06/02/07)- University Rd

Victim stated that between the above dates the “Acura” emblem was stolen from the rear of his vehicle.

Graffiti

  • Occurred between 8:00 am and 4:25pm(6/4/07)- Highland Road

New tags of “BAM” and “Boston Artist Movement” were found on the equipment shed at Downes Field. Latex-gloves were found in the area; they were collected and placed into evidence. Photos were taken

Arrests

  • Occurred at 3:00 a.m. (06/01/07)- Griggs Rd/ Washington St

Angela Aiello of Allston was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension. Aiello also received a citation for speeding and defective equipment.

  • Occurred at 9:30 am (06/01/07)- Rockwood Street

Preslrey Witter of Dorchester was placed under arrest for a warrant.

  • Occurred at 10:47 am (06/01/07)- Beacon Street

Christopher Halfond of Providence, RI was placed under arrest after attempting to make a fraudulent transaction at the Bank of America. Halfond was also charged with attempt to commit a crime, false name violation, forgery, illegal possession of credit cards, larceny and uttering. Halfond also had four outstanding warrants

  • Occurred at 6:61 pm (06/01/07)- Kent St/ Linden St

Ronan Casey and Joshua Zunick, both of Brookline, were arrested and charged with minor in possession after being observed with cans of Bush Light as they were walking down Kent St. Casey and Zunick were in the company of a juvenile who was released to a parent.

  • Occurred at 2:51 pm (06/02/07) 1024 Beacon Street

Justin Turner of Boston was arrested for shoplifting after an employee of the Wine Press observed Turner placing items into his backpack. Turner also had a warrant.

David Velez last known address out of Boston, was arrested for a warrant

Thomas Crowell of Lexington, NC was arrested for domestic assault and battery.

  • Occurred between 11:20 am and 11:43 am (06/03/07) Village Way

Wesley Beaumont of Brookline was placed under arrest for domestic assault and battery.

Larceny

  • Between 6:00 pm (05/22/07) and 6:00 pm (05/20/2007)- Beacon St/Englewood Ave

Town of Brookline Park and Conservation department reported that a total of twenty-four bushes were stolen from three different locations along Beacon Street.

  • Between 7:40 am (06/01/07) and 2:30 pm (0601/07)- Kennard Road

Between the above times, the victim stated that his bike was stolen from the front of the Lincoln School. The victim parked the boy’s bike in the bicycle rack, without a locking mechanism. When the victim returned the bicycle was missing.

  • Between 08:00 am (05/21/07) and 2:05 pm (05/21/07)- School St

Victim reported that his cell phone was stolen from his sons back pack at the Pierce School.

  • Between 6:00pm (06/01/07) and 7:00 am (06/02/07)- Beaconsfield Rd

Victim stated that between the above times her bicycle was stolen from her back backyard and a different bike was left in its place.

  • Occurred between 12:30pm and 9:15 pm (06/02/07)- Stanton Road

Victim stated that between the above times a stainless steel solar powered walkway light was stolen from their yard.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred at 2:58 pm (06/01/07)- Leverett Street

The victim stated that she owns the property above, when she entered with a handyman to do repairs, it was found that there were pictures on the wall that had been tagged with spray paint. A set of stairs within the house were missing as well as damaged banisters and a chandelier. The victim also reported that the insulation on the pipes had been damaged along with some of the plaster and sheer rock within the house. Officers were unable to make contact with the tenants.

  • Between 9:00pm (06/02/07) and 5:00am (06/03/07)- Harvard St

Victim stated that he parked his car in his rented space overnight. When the victim returned to the vehicle in the morning he found the sun visor clams to be damaged along with his dome lamp and drivers side seat lever. Items were moved around the vehicle, but nothing appeared to be stolen.

B&E&L of Motor Vehicle

  • Between 5:00 pm (06/02/07) and 9:00 am (06/03/07)- Williams St

The victim stated that when she returned to her vehicle she noticed that from the center console, a life line road kit had been opened and a screwdriver was missing.


Bomb Threat

Occurred between 1:06 am and 2:00am (06/02/07) 1681 Beacon St (C#3183)

Boston Dispatch received a call from an anonymous call from a male caller on a pay-phone located at 2002 Beacon St (7-11 stores) stating that he had planted a bomb at 1681 Beacon St. Boston Police units were sent to the area. Brookline Police did not notice any suspicious packages upon arrival with Brookline Fire. Tenants in the building were evacuated. A search of the building, roof tops and the MBTA platforms showed no devices found.

Crime Report (6/2/07)

LARCENY

  • Between 9:30 p.m. (5/30/07) and 4:00 a.m. (5/31/07)- 133 Brook Street

At the above time and location, the victim reported that he had placed his laundry in the washing machine but when he returned he noticed his laundry was all over the laundry room. Some of the victim’s clothing was also missing. The room is located in the basement at 129 Brook Street, and is shared with the tenants of 133 Brook Street.

  • Between 5:45 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. (5/30/07)- 278 Harvard Street

The victim reported that her locked bicycle was stolen while she was at work. The lock was left on the ground and appeared to be in working order. The bike was described as a female frame, light blue in color, single speed, racing tires and regular handle bars.

BURGLARY

  • Between 5:30 p.m. (5/30/07) and 8:00 a.m. (5/31/07)- 822 Boylston St

The victim reported that a door leading into an office at the commercial establishment had been damaged. The door had been damaged in and around the area of the door frame near the locking mechanism. It appeared that an attempt was made to pry open the door. No items have been reported missing from the office.
