Crime Report (5/31/07)

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 2:02 a.m. (5/30/07)- 29 Harvard Street

Chris McNeill of Allston was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension. McNeill also received a citation for an expired inspection sticker.

  • Occurred at 9:42 p.m. (5/30/07)- Beacon Street/ Harvard Street

Michael Doyle of St. Attleboro was stopped on Harvard Street for making an illegal left turn from Beacon Street. A check with the registry of motor vehicles revealed that Doyle’s license had been suspended and that he had an outstanding warrant. He was placed under arrest and received citations for Operating after Suspension, Illegal Left Turn, and not wearing a seatbelt.

  • Occurred at 11:09 a.m. (5/30/07)- 637 Washington Street

Phuong Nguyen of Quincy was arrested as a result of an ongoing investigation into theft of money from the business, Rofe Dental Associates. Nguyen is believed to have stolen and forged a number of checks. The checks were either cashed or deposited into personal accounts. The investigation is ongoing and continuing.

B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Between 8:00 p.m. and 9:42 p.m. (5/29/07)- Green Street

The passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle had been smashed. A GPS unit was missing.

  • Between 3:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. (5/30/07)- Freeman Street

The front passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle had been smashed and a GPS unit was taken from the front passenger side seat.

MALICIOUS DAMAGE

  • Between 11:00 p.m. (5/29/07) and 7:30 a.m. (5/30/07)- 24 Webster Place

The victim reported that his office window at Brookline Bank had been broken. There was nothing missing from the office. The act appeared to be malicious damage with no further intent.

LARCENY

  • Between 2:30 p.m. (5/29/07) and 11:30 p.m. (5/30/07)- St Paul Street

At the above time and location, the victim’s bicycle was stolen from the front hallway of the building. Since the hallway is usually secured by the inside vestibule door, the victim did not secure the bike with a chain and/or lock. Upon inspection of the vestibule door, it was determined that the locking mechanism is not secure. The bike was described as a maroon mountain style, with a gray child seat and black/chrome handlebars.

FRAUD

  • Between 2:24 p.m. (4/28/07) and 2:24 p.m. (5/29/07)- Park Street

The victim reported that a fraudulent Sprint Phone account had been opened in her name. The account had been opened using her name and social security number. The account has had $1323.89 charged to it. The victim also reported that her Wal-Mart account had also been accessed in the amount of $540.18.

GRAFFITI

  • Between 6:00 p.m. (5/25/07) and 8:00 a.m. (5/26/07)- 185 High Street

The fence between 183 and 185 High Street had been spray painted with orange paint. There was also graffiti on the fence in the parking lot area.

  • Between 9:30 p.m. and 10:43 p.m. (5/29/07)- 14 Edwin Street

The victim reported additional graffiti to his rental truck. The truck had been tagged earlier in the day on the right side of the truck, and was later tagged on the left. The tag was done in black spray paint and read “NAS” or “JAS”.

Crime Report (5/30/07)

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 9:49 a.m. (5/29/07)- 115 Greenough Street

Brandon Woodsonof Brookline was arrested for the larceny of another student’s pocketbook. Brookline High School’s video surveillance caught footage of Woodson with the pocketbook. Woodson had removed multiple items, including an I Pod and put them into his own bag.

  • Occurred at 4:04 p.m. (5/29/07)- Washington Street/ Brookline Avenue

Janick Medina of Roxbury was arrested for operating a stolen motor vehicle. He had been operating a red Dodge Pick-up reported stolen from Saugus on May 25. Medina also received a citation for operating with only a learner’s permit.

ASSAULT

  • Occurred at 11:00 a.m. (5/29/07)- Brookline Ave/Aspinwall Ave

A Parks Department employee reported that after he had opened the park gate and drove a tractor into the Brookline Avenue Playground to begin mowing, a male suspect approached him aggressively. The suspect spat on the employee and then turned and left the park. Two witnesses of the incident stated that the suspect had been in the park with two dogs. The dogs were unleashed and ran out of the gate that the employee had left open. The suspect was described as a white male, late 30’s, balding, 5’6”-6’0”, wearing a red shirt and possibly khaki colored shorts.

B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Between 6:00 a.m. and 11:48 a.m. (5/23/07)- 20 Chapel Street

Two vehicles were observed with the front passenger side window smashed on each. Notes were left on the motor vehicles for the victim’s to contact the police.


GRAFFITI

  • Occurred at 8:20 p.m. (5/29/07)- 14 Edwin Street

The victim reported that the moving truck he had rented was tagged with black spray paint. The tag read “NAS”. The victim had parked the truck and left it unattended for approximately 5-10 minutes. When he returned he observed the freshly sprayed paint dripping down the right side of the truck.

Crime Report (5/29/07)

ARRESTS

  • Between 4:23 a.m. and 4:57 a.m. (5/25/07)- 77 Marion Street

Dennis Fournier of Brookline was arrested for Possession of Class D Substance (Marijuana).

  • Occurred at 6:45 a.m. (5/25/07)- Dean Road/ Clinton Road

Felix Rumkin of Framingham was stopped for failing to stop at a stop sign. The officer that had initiated the traffic stop asked for Rumkin’s license and registration, but he refused to provide his license. Additional police units were called to the scene. An officer was finally able to get Rumkin to produce his license. Dispatch later revealed that the vehicle that Rumkin was operating had revoked insurance. Rumkin was placed under arrest. He refused to cooperate, but was eventually placed in handcuffs. Rumkin received citations for the multiple traffic offenses and for resisting arrest.

  • Occurred at 8:10 a.m. (5/25/07)- 400 Washington Street

Peter Daly of Brookline was placed under arrest for Assault and Battery, shoplifting, and disorderly person. Daly had entered the CVS at the above location and removed items from the store without paying. The store supervisor followed Daly from the store and grabbed his hand in an attempt to stop him. At this time, Daly started to punch the supervisor.

  • Occurred at 3:44 p.m. (5/25/07)- 525 Harvard Street

Officers responded to TJ Maxx for a report of a shoplifter being detained in the security office. Store security had observed Leslie Lipscombof Roxbury attempting to shoplift two pairs of shoes from the store. Lipscomb had cut the security tags off the shoes using a pair of pliers and then placed them in a plastic bag she had been carrying. Lipscomb was stopped as she was leaving the store. Lipscomb also initially provided a false name to security and reporting officers. She will be charged with Shoplifting and furnishing a false name.

  • Occurred at 4:24 p.m. (5/25/07)- 1334 Beacon Street

The Radio Shack at the above location reported a shoplifter. Dispatch gave out a description of the suspect, William Carter of Brookline. Carter was later detained and a search of his person revealed the stolen merchandise from Radio Shack. At the station another package was found on Carter. The package had been stolen from the CVS located on Harvard Street.

  • Occurred at 10:26 p.m. (5/25/07)- 62 Walnut Hill Road

At the above time and location, units were dispatched for a loud party call. Aaron Eisenberg and Matthew Nasif were arrested for Minors in Possession (alcohol).

Gregory Nasif was placed under arrest for Minor Transporting Alcohol. An officer had observed Nasif driving away from the above scene at an excessive speed. Nasif was pulled over for speeding. During the stop, the officer had observed a Coors Light cardboard box and 2 cans of Coors Light in the rear storage area of the vehicle.

  • Occurred at 11:56 p.m. (5/25/07)- Amory Street/ Dummer Street

A caller had reported that a female was standing in the middle of the street while cars were going by. An officer responded to the scene and observed an individual that fit the description the caller had given. The officer approached the individual, later identified as Nicole McNeil , and attempted to conduct a field interview. McNeil became volatile and started to yell. She refused to cooperate with the officer. She was then placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct. McNeil resisted the officer and will additionally be charged with resisting arrest.

  • Occurred at 3:25 a.m. (5/26/07)-

Steven Young of Brighton was arrested for Domestic Assault and Battery. Young and his partner had been having an argument. The fight became physical and Young hit the victim in the face with a closed fist. During the search incident to arrest, marijuana was found on Young’s person.

  • Occurred at 11:14 p.m. (5/26/07)-

Jaymmy Colon-Ortiz of Brookline was arrested for Domestic Assault and Battery. Colon-Ortiz had spit her alcohol at her ex-boyfriend as he walked past her on the porch of the apartment building. The victim picked up the alcohol and smashed it. He then entered the building and went to his apartment. Colon-Ortiz followed the victim and began to grabbing and assaulting him as he attempted to enter his apartment.

  • Occurred at 2:36 a.m. (5/27/07)- St Mary’s/Essex

Mohammad Alqamar of Boston was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence. Alqamar will also be charged with operating without a license, failure to stop for a red light, and failure to yield to oncoming traffic.

  • Occurred at 12:12 a.m. (5/27/07)

Philip Beygelmakher of Brookline was arrested for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. Beygelmakher had thrown a razor at his younger sister’s head. Beygelmakher’s mother reported that Philip has been very abusive over the past month.

  • Occurred at 6:42 p.m. (5/27/07)- 46 Channing Road

The officer had responded to a call concerning suspicious persons. The officer stopped the two suspects while they were in a motor vehicle on Baxter. Benson Hinga of Medfield was the passenger of the vehicle. He was identified and dispatch revealed that there was a warrant out for his arrest. As the officer spoke to the driver of the vehicle, Philip Strafello, he observed a bottle of Heineken on the back seat, along with tools, clothing, and other belongings. Strafello was placed under arrest for underage and knowingly transporting/possessing alcohol. Strafello was searched at the station and a bag containing two packages of heroin was found in his left sock. A check book found in the vehicle was later determined to be stolen. Strafello was additionally charged with possession of stolen property.

ASSAULT

  • Occurred at 11:00 a.m. (5/21/07)- 64 Westbourne Terrace

The victim reported that his son has been being bullied at school. He noticed bruising on his son’s arm. When inquired about the bruising, the son reported that another student at school has been assaulting him.

  • Between 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. (5/28/07)- 518 Harvard Street

At the above time and location, residents of the basement apartments had an argument concerning a past incident. The argument(s) escalated and resulted in members of each party physically assaulting one another.

MALICIOUS DAMAGE

  • Between 9:00 p.m. (5/24/07) and 10:00 a.m. (5/25/07)- Fisher Ave

The passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle was shattered while parked in her parent’s driveway. Nothing appeared to be stolen from the vehicle and no other vehicles in the driveway had been disturbed.

  • Between 11:28 p.m. (5/25/07) and 12:32 a.m. (5/26/07)- Marion St

At the above time and location, two suspects had been knocking on the victim’s apartment rear window asking him to come outside. The victim informed the suspects that he did not want to go outside and went into another room of his apartment. The suspects continued to knock on the window, but the victim eventually heard it break.

LARCENY

  • Occurred at 12:08 p.m. (5/26/07)- 193 Harvard Street

At the above time and location, an employee at Laundry Express had taken $200 and a credit card from the victim’s wallet. The victim had left the laundry mat to use her cell phone. At this time, the suspect took the wallet into the employee office, and removed the items.

  • Between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. (5/27/07)- 400 Washington Street

The victim reported that someone had pick pocketed her wallet while she was waiting in line at CVS. Video surveillance showed nothing definite.

B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Between 3:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. (5/26/07)- Commonwealth Ave

The passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle was smashed. A GPS system and holder, along with an I Pod and its cable were stolen.

  • Between 3:00 p.m. (5/27/07) and 11:45 a.m. (5/28/07)- Rawson Rd

At the above time and location, the rear emblem of the victim’s Mercedes Benz was damaged. It appeared as though someone had used a tool to attempt to pry the emblem. The pry movement left significant scratches on the vehicle. An observation of the lot revealed that three other cars were missing their emblems.

Crime Report (5/25/07)

ARRESTS

  • Between 1:34 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. (5/24/07)- 55Buckminster Road

Carlos Gonzalez of Dorchester was arrested for Operating after Suspension. Gonzalez also received a citation for speeding in a construction zone, and failing to wear a seatbelt.

  • Occurred at 4:15 a.m. (5/24/07)- High Street

Annsyya Jones of Dorchester was placed under arrest for Trespassing, Assault and Battery, and disorderly conduct. The victim reported that Jones had been drinking a lot of alcohol and she began to feel uncomfortable with Jones at her apartment. The victim asked her to leave, but she refused. A verbal argument started, which lead to a physical altercation between Jones and the victim.

  • Occurred at 1:55 p.m. (5/24/07)- 284 Washington Street

Selahaddin Ercsili of Allston was arrested for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault and Battery to collect funds, threats to commit a crime, and malicious damage of property. Ercsili had brandished a knife while demanding that the victim give him money that was owed to him. Ercsili had threatened the victim’s life and also went to attack him with the knife in his hand during their altercation. Ercsili fled as the police were called, but was later detained on Harvard Street. Ercsili no longer had the knife in his possession.

  • Occurred at 6:54 p.m. (5/24/07)- Commonwealth Ave/Winslow Road

Leonard Cornelius of Brighton and Christopher Lewis were both arrested for trafficking of cocaine. Cornelius was initially arrested after fleeing from the police during a stop interrogation in which a knife was found on his person. When detained, he assaulted both of the officers involved. A witness informed police that he had observed Lewis with Cornelius shortly before the incident had taken place. Lewis was in the immediate area and was questioned by officers. A knife was also found on Lewis’s person. During the chase, Cornelius had thrown an object from his person. This object was later identified as a bag containing crack cocaine. Lewis and Cornelius were both in each others cell phones, and a call was made between the two minutes prior to the stop.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

  • Between 1:45 p.m. and 1:57 p.m. (5/24/07)- 115 Seawall Avenue

The victim reported that his motor vehicle was stolen while he was delivering packages for Eastern Connection Delivery. The victim parked his car and left the keys in the ignition while he went to the front door of a customer’s home. When the victim returned to the street, the vehicle was gone.

B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Between 6:00 a.m. and 11:48 a.m. (5/23/07)- Chapel Street

The front passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle was smashed. Nothing is believed to be missing from the vehicle at this time.

BURGLARY

  • Between 7:05 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. (5/24/07)- St Paul Street

At the above time and location, the victim’s home was broken into. A stereo sub woofer, four speakers, a computer monitor, and a digital camera were stolen from the living room. The victim had found the front door open when he returned home. There appeared to be no damage to the doors or locks in the apartment.

MISSING PERSON (RETURNED)

  • Occurred at 9:00 p.m. (5/24/07)- 165 Chestnut Street

Robert Cormier was returned to the Goddard House facilities via cab with a former friend and neighbor from Ipswich Street.

Crime Report (5/24/07)

ARSON

  • Occurred at 9:46 a.m. (5/23/07)- 115 Greenough Street

At the above time and location, a fire was set in a men’s restroom on the third floor at Brookline High School. The suspect is believed to be a student.

MISSING PERSON

  • Occurred at 9:00 p.m. (5/23/07)- 165 Chestnut Street

Goddard House reported a missing person from their facility. Robert Cormier is described as a white male, wears glasses, thin build, and 74 years old. The day that he was reported missing he was wearing a dark colored grey or blue sport coat, light gray pants, brown sandals with white tube socks, a blue and white vertical striped shirt, carrying a black shoulder strap bag with the words “Brookstone” written on it. Cormier suffers from dementia and has a past head injury. He was reportedly last seen by his sister at her address in Boston. She stated that Cormier frequently uses the MBTA Copley bus, #9 route, to travel to his former address on Ipswich Street.

Crime Report (5/23/07)

LARCENY

  • Between 3:30 pm (5/19/07) and 3:40 pm (5/21/07)- 115 Greenough St

A grill was reported missing from the quadrangle at the Brookline High School. The grill had been used at the basketball tournament held earlier on 5/19. The grill was described as a stainless steel grill measuring 50” by 16”.

  • Between 8:00 a.m. (5/7/07) and 8:00 a.m. (5/22/07)- Beacon St

The victim reported that her gold ring was stolen from a bookshelf located in her bedroom. Also taken from the victim’s apartment were the contents of a prescription pill bottle that is normally store in her dresser drawer. There are no signs of forced entry into the apartment. The victim reported that her home is currently being shown by a variety of realty companies as she is in the process of moving.

FRAUD

  • Occurred 12:00 a.m. (5/22/07)- Nelson Drive

Someone had attempted to use the victim’s credit card to purchase a Marriott gift card in the amount of $5117. The gift card was requested to be sent to an address in Indonesia. Marriott Hotel Corp expected an irregularity and notified the credit card holder.

  • Occurred at 5:00 p.m. (5/21/07)- Newton Street/Grove Street

The victim reported the fraudulent use of her credit card at JD Exxon Station on Newton Street. She used her credit card to buy gasoline, but had not gone inside the station to retrieve her receipt. The victim’s bank statement revealed that two unauthorized transactions took place in rapid succession of one another at the gas station

Crime Report (5/22/07)

ARSON

  • Between 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. (5/21/07)- 115 Greenough St, B.H.S.

The reporting person stated that as he was walking up the stairwell to the High School’s Athletic Department, he observed the remains of an 8.5 X 11 sheet of paper and soot on the wall.

LARCENY

  • Between 3:00 p.m. and 6:10 p.m. (5/21/07)- Babcock Street

At the above time and location, the victim’s bicycle was stolen from the rear of her apartment. The bicycle had been locked to the rear stairway.

  • Occurred at 7:45 p.m. (5/21/07)- Griggs Road

The victim’s bicycle was taken from her front porch. It had not been locked. The bike was described as a gray BMX bicycle with red and white handle bars, a black seat, and several colored wheel spokes.

FRAUD

  • Between 3:00 p.m. and 4:40 p.m. (5/210/07)- Beacon Street

The victim reported that she lost her organizer which had contained credit cards, a social security card, cell phone, and an assortment of other items. When she called to cancel her credit cards, she was notified that one of her credit cards had been used.

Crime Report (5/21/07)

ARRESTS

  • Between 2:33 p.m. and 3:33 p.m. (5/17/07)- 11 Kent Street

While traveling down Kent Street, an officer had observed three juvenile males punching another juvenile male. Upon his arrival, the officer proceeded to break up the fight. The victim reported that he had been walking home from Pierce School with another student when the three juvenile males approached them. The victim recognized one of the juveniles as a former student of Pierce School. This suspect asked the victim for his cell phone. Once done, the victim asked for it back, but the suspect refused and yelled “Hit him!” and “You wanna fight?” As the victim continued to ask for his phone, the three suspects began to throw the phone back and forth to one another. This continued until one of the suspects punched the victim in the head. The other suspects then proceeded to punch the victim as well. The fight was eventually broken up by afore mentioned officer. A pat frisk was conducted and the cell phone was found on the suspect that first hit the victim. Considering the circumstances of the situation, the three suspects were arrested. A laptop computer was found in one of the juvenile’s backpacks. A detective immediately recognized the laptop as one that was reported stolen last week from the Lawrence School. All three juveniles were charged with armed robbery, disorderly conduct, and assault and battery. Two of the three were additionally charged with receiving stolen property.

  • Between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. (5/18/07)- 27 Francis Street

Juvenile of Dorchester was arrested for Larceny. The juvenile had been involved with the theft of laptops from the Lawrence School.

  • Occurred at 6:09 p.m. (5/180/7)- 61 Park Street

Sean Patrick of Brookline was placed under arrest for a default warrant.

  • Occurred at 6:40 a.m. (5/19/07)- 63 Longwood Avenue

Alec Sense of New York was arrested for Daytime B&E without Force and Trespassing. Sense was found inside the victim’s apartment and appeared very intoxicated. He didn’t seem to know where he was or how he got into the apartment.

  • Occurred at 7:15 p.m. (5/19/07)- John Street/Green Street

Fernando De Oliviera of Brighton was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle without a License and for an illegal left turn.

  • Occurred at 6:14 p.m. (5/19/07)- 27 Egmont Street

Nomar Lugo of Brookline was arrest for two outstanding warrants.

  • Occurred at 1:53 a.m. (5/20/07)- Harvard Street/Babcock Street

Milton Alvarado of Jamaica Plain was placed under arrest for Unlicensed Operation of a motor Vehicle. Alvarado also received a citation for a defective headlight.

  • Between 2:19 a.m. and 2:53 a.m. (5/20/07)- Beacon St/Marshal Street

Melinda Martland of Rhode Island was arrested for Operating under the Influence of an Intoxicating Liquor. Martland was initially stopped for a red light violation. She additionally received citations for the violation and for operating a motor vehicle without a license or registration in possession.

B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Between 7:30 a.m. and 2:10 p.m. (5/18/07)- Westbourne Terrace

The front right passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle had been broken. A portable GPS unit, MP3 player with a charger, a cell phone and 4 CD cases filled with CD’s was stolen.

  • Between 5:00 p.m. (5/16/07) and 10:00 a.m. (5/17/07)- Newton St

The victim’s backpack had been stolen from his motor vehicle. The vehicle had been unlocked.

LARCENY

  • Occurred at 3:54 p.m. (5/19/07)- 890 Commonwealth Avenue

At the above time and location, a male suspect stole a bike from Landry’s Bicycles. An employee of the store had chased the suspect on bike on Commonwealth Avenue. He was able to catch up to him. The suspect dropped the bike, but continued to run. The suspect was described as a white male, 5’8”, mid-thirties, brown hair, wearing a black baseball hat, gray sweatshirt, blue jeans, and red sneakers.

  • Between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. (5/20/07)- 730 Commonwealth Ave

The victim reported that she had left her wallet at Café Royal. A check of credit card and bank accounts revealed that the victim’s bank card had been used.

ID FRAUD

  • Between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. (4/3/07)- Village Way

The victim reported that her checking account was missing money that she had not taken out herself. The victim contacted her bank and she was informed that the money was taken out using her ATM card. The victim believes that she may have lost her card or left it at an ATM. She stated that she writes her pin on the back of the card and that is why someone could have taken the money out.

GRAFFITI

  • Between 11:30 p (5/16/07) and 3:30 p (5/17/07)- Davis Ave/White Pl

There are numerous tags on the wall of the Davis Path footbridge. The tags were “TANS” (which appeared seven times in red paint), and “REACT” (which appeared four times in gold paint).

  • Occurred at 7:26 p.m. (5/20/07)- Perry Street/Francis Street

Numerous mail boxes in the area of Kent Square, Harrison Street, and Francis Street have been tagged. The tags include: TANS, TANGENT, REACT, KEYS, and ETHEK.

Crime Report (5/18/07)

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 11:15 a.m. (5/17/07)- 637 Washington Street

Melanie Allen of Malden was arrested for extortion. Allen had begun a relationship with a male she met off of “Craig’s List”. She had requested money from this male, reportedly to pay for school fees and a TV. The male had requested that Allen stop her demands, but she allegedly told the male that she will expose him if she does not continue to receive money.

  • Between 5:38 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. (5/17/07)-1317 Beacon Street

As officers responded to Trader Joe’s for a report of shoplifting, they observed three employees chasing Dylan Vogt of Brookline, on foot on Longwood Avenue. Vogt had been observed stuffing items into his personal bag. Vogt had been cooperative when confronted inside the store, but he ran once he was informed the police had been called.

GRAFFITI

  • Between 12:27 p.m. (5/10/07) and 12:27 p.m. (5/17/07)- Browne St

The victim reported that the side door to her home had been defaced. The door had been tagged with a blue marker and read “UTJG” with a loop line above it.

Crime Report (5/17/07)

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 12:24 a.m. (5/16/07)- 1595 Beacon Street

Christopher Small of Brookline was arrested for a default warrant. Officers had responded to a loud party.

  • Between 1:00 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. (5/16/07)- 525 Harvard Street

Mark Allen of Brighton was placed under arrest for a default warrant. Allen had been stopped concerning an open container violation.

B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Between 6:00 p.m. (5/15/07) and 12:30 a.m. (5/16/07)- 4 Euston Street

The rear driver’s side window of the victim’s vehicle was smashed, and a portable GPS system had been stolen.

  • Between 6:00 p.m. (5/14/07) and 5:30 p.m. (5/15/07)- Beacon St

The driver side window of the victim’s vehicle had been smashed. A Magellan GPS unit was stolen.

Crime Report (5/16/07)

ARRESTS

  • Between 2:39 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. (5/15/07)- Thorndike Street

Alexander Aird (white male, age 19) of Brookline was arrested for Arson of Personal Property and Disorderly Person. Aird had been arrested based on probable cause that he was responsible for three recent fires on Francis and Toxteth St. Aird is also a suspect in six various fires that had occurred over the last couple of nights in Brookline.

ASSAULT

  • Between 2:34 a.m. and 3:15 a.m. (5/15/07)- Beacon Street

The victim had given his female friend a walk to her home on Beacon Street. While hugging good-bye, the victim was suddenly hit across the side of his face. The suspect was an individual that had been conversing with the female friend earlier that night at Mary Ann’s Bar. The friend had been made uncomfortable by the suspect and asked the victim to walk her home. The suspect was described as a black male, approx. 6’3”, 180-220 lbs, short cropped hair, tattoos on his shoulders and both arms, wearing a white tank top and khaki pants.

B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Between 12:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. (5/15/07)- Rawson Road

The driver side window of the victim’s vehicle had been smashed into a circular hole. An I-Way GPS system (valued at $800) was stolen.

LARCENY

  • Between 8:40 a.m. and 9:10 a.m. (5/9/07)- 115 Greenough Street, B.H.S.

The victim’s T-Mobile Sidekick cell phone was stolen from her locker. There was no forced entry and the culprit must have been someone that knew the victim’s locker combination.

GRAFFITI

  • Occurred at 4:46 p.m. (5/9/07)- 996 Commonwealth Avenue

The word “true” was written on the sign for Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Crime Report (5/15/07)

ARRESTS

  • Between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. (5/14/07)- 22 Leverett Street

Michael Culletto (white male, age 23) of Brookline was placed under arrest for Open and Gross Lewdness. Culletto had exposed himself to a number of MBTA workers from his living room window. When Culletto made visual contact with the workers, he began to jump up and down while touching himself inappropriately. It was also reported by the workers that while Culletto was exposed, he gestured and pointed to bring attention to his waist.

B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Between 7:00 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. (5/13/07)- 599 Brookline Avenue

A rear passenger window of the victim’s vehicle was smashed. An Apple I Pod, charger, and tape adaptor were taken from the vehicle.

Crime Report (5/14/07)

ARRESTS
  • Occurred at 10:08 a.m. (5/110/7)- Thornton Road

    Gerardo Agit of Brookline was placed under arrest for Domestic Assault and Battery. Agit and a member of his family had been having an argument concerning a computer when the fight escalated. Agit pushed his the victim down two sets of stairs, and then punched and kicked him once he was at the second landing.

  • Between 4:35 p.m. and 5:10 p.m. (5/11/07)- 1317 Beacon Street

    Sharon Surprise of Brookline was arrested for shoplifting. A Trader Joe’s store employee had observed Surprise take several items off the shelves, put them into her bag, and then attempt to leave the store without paying. When the employee approached Surprise as she was leaving, she ran out into the parking lot. The employee was able to hold her for a short time and she dropped the bag. She fled south on Harvard Street, but was later detained by officers on Webster Street. The manager of Trader Joe’s advised Surprise of the trespass law and stated that she was no longer allowed in Trader Joe’s.

  • Occurred at 5:14 p.m. (5/11/07)- 50 School Street

    Police responded to the area of Pierce Elementary School and the Brookline Public Library for an intoxicated male exposing himself. A witness had observed Anthony Martinez of Jamaica Plain sitting against the wall of Pierce while touching himself inappropriately. Martinez was placed under arrest for Open and Gross Lewdness and for an outstanding warrant.

  • Between 12:41 and 1:00 am (5/12/07)- Commonwealth Av/Carlton St

    Jose Cetina of Chelsea was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of an Intoxicating Liquor. Cetina also received a citation for failure to stop for a red traffic signal.

  • Between 6:30 p.m. and 6:50 p.m. (5/12/07)- 525 Harvard Street

    Ademar Pedro of Allston was arrested for Shoplifting. Pedro had attempted to steal a ladies black purse from TJ Maxx, but was stopped by the store’s detective.

MALICIOUS DAMAGE

  • Between 9:30 p.m. (5/10/07) and 6:30 a.m. (5/11/07)- Harvard Ave

    The rear window of the victim’s vehicle was smashed. It appeared to have been done using a bat or tool since there were no items found inside of the vehicle.

  • Between 2:06 a.m. and 2:56 a.m. (5/12/07)- 1485 Beacon Street

    A group of three male suspects had been observed performing destruction to Town property. The destruction included: planks used to support newly planted trees had been broken and pulled out of the ground, a pair of Handicap Parking signs were pulled out of the ground and left leaning against a speed limit sign ten feet way, and traffic barrels had been moved and pushed over. The suspects were later detained and identified. One suspect was determined to have done the damage, while the other two suspects had watched. He will be summonsed to court for a hearing for Malicious Damage to Town Property.

  • Between 4:30 p.m. (5/11/07) and 7:00 a.m. (5/12/07)- High Street

    The window of the exterior door to the community room had been broken. The frame around the window was also damaged.

FRAUD

  • Occurred at 9:21 (5/11/07)- Juniper Street

    The victim’s credit/debit card was fraudulently used to purchase a computer laptop online. The package was to be delivered to an address in New Jersey.

LARCENY

  • Between 2:35 p.m. (5/10/7) and 7:05 a.m. (5/11/07)- 120 Seaver St

    The reporting person explained that $5500.00 USD worth of copper plumbing was missing from the second floor of building E, Long Year Manor Building. The larceny is believed to have been an inside job.

  • Occurred at 10:52 p.m. (5/11/07)- 66 Tappan Street

    The victim’s camera was allegedly stolen from her bag while in attendance of the Brookline Recreational Dance at the above location. There were approximately 375 attendees at the dance.

  • Occurred at 10:53 p.m. (5/11/07)- 66 Tappan Street

    The victim’s cell phone was taken from a friend’s bag while at the Brookline Recreational Dance. The bag had been underneath the bleachers in the gym.

  • Occurred at 2:55 p.m. (5/13/07)- 890 Commonwealth Avenue

    A black/red Cannondale Prophet bicycle was stolen from Landry’s Bicycles. The suspect had taken the bike from the store without paying and rode east on Commonwealth. The suspect was described as a white male, 5’8”, brown hair, wearing a gray t-shirt, blue jeans, and a red baseball hat.

Crime Report (5/11/07)

ARRESTS
  • Occurred at 12:49 a.m. (5/10/07)- St Paul Street/Commonwealth Ave

    Suspect was arrested for Unlicensed Operation and also received a citation for speeding.

  • Occurred at 1:24 a.m. (5/10/07)- 1387 Beacon Street

    Ronald Caggiano of Plymouth was placed under arrest for Operating under the Influence of Alcohol, failing to submit a vehicle for inspection, and for a prohibited left turn, the initial reason for the stop. The passenger of the vehicle, Rachel Caggiano of Plymouth, was arrested for possession of marijuana. During the search of the vehicle, the marijuana was found in R. Caggiano’s purse located under the rear seat.

  • Occurred at 2:43 a.m. (5/10/07)- 1200 Beacon Street

    Krisada Jaruthatsanakul of Brighton was arrested for Operating under the Influence of Alcohol. Jaruthatsanakul also received a citation for making an illegal left turn and failure to come to complete stop at a red light.

  • Occurred at 5:36 a.m. (5/10/07)- 880 Commonwealth Avenue

    When officers responded to a Commercial/Business alarm at the Tweeter center they observed a white male, later identified as Thomas Nee of Dedham, standing in front of a side entrance door. An officer asked Nee what he was doing and he immediately ran. A foot chase ensued and Nee was eventually detained with struggle. Nee had numerous cuts and open wounds on his body and was bleeding from many of them. A further search of Tweeter revealed a large plate glass window completely shattered located on the side of the building in the alley. The insulation behind the window had been completely removed from the building and the dry wall had been kicked and/or punched in. There was blood on both the insulation and dry wall. A flat head screwdriver was found lying on the ground next to the door, and a black hat with the letters SF in orange lettering was inside the glass and on top of the insulation. Nee was charged with two counts of Burglary, Resisting Arrest, and Possession of Burglarious tools.

  • Occurred at 9:05 a.m. (5/10/07)- 737 Newton Street

    Marcos Dos Santos of Allston was arrested for being Not Duly Licensed. Santos had been stopped because the trucks contents were spilling onto the roadway.

  • Between 7:45 pm and 7:49 pm (5/10/07)- Washington St/Salisbury Rd

    Elker Chajon-Navas of Boston was arrested for Domestic Assault and Battery. During an argument with his girlfriend, Chajon-Navas had grabbed and pushed his girlfriend against his vehicle. Two witnesses had observed the incident. Chajon-Navas was also charged with malicious damage because he had thrown the face plate from the vehicle’s radio out the window while arguing.

LARCENY

  • Occurred at 12:23 a.m. (5/10/07)- 22 Leverett Street

    A pizza delivery person reported that two white males had fled without paying after receiving the pizza.

  • Between 3:30 p.m. (5/9/07) and 7:30 a.m. (5/10/07)- 27 Francis Street

    A teacher at Lawrence school reported that her laptop computer was missing from her desk. Two students were later observed using a white Apple laptop on the playground at the school. When questioned where they had gotten the computer, the students stated that another student had given it to them. This same student had also told one of them earlier in the day that he had stolen the laptop.

B&E&LOF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Between 3:30 am and 5:00 am (5/10/07)- 1200 Beacon St

    Three motor vehicle located in the rear Holiday Inn parking garage had been broken into. All of the vehicles had a window smashed. A stereo and stereo equipment stolen was stolen from the Volkswagon and a GPS system was stolen out of the Dodge Caravan. Nothing was reported stolen from the Audi.

BURGLARY

  • Occurred at 1:06 p.m. (5/10/07)- Salisbury Road

    An attempted burglary was made at the above time and location. The pane glass on the front door had been broken and it appears that the suspect had reached through the broken window to unlock the dead bolt lock. There did not appear to be a larceny from the residence and it did not seem as if the suspect had actually entered the residence. A loud audible alarm had been trip, and may have chased the suspect away. A possible suspect had spoken to a mail man that had been in the area and inquired about the particular address. The mail man also observed the suspect walk around the residence, but lost sight of him when he entered the back yard. The suspect was described as a white male, approx. 5’10”, slim build, tattoos all over his arms, a crew cut, wearing a t-shirt and shoes.

MALICIOUS DAMAGE

  • Between 3:55 p.m. and 4:11 p.m. (5/10/07)- Harvard Avenue

    A female apartment resident broke a window of another resident’s apartment with whom she has had numerous disputes with in the past.

Crime Report (5/10/07)

LARCENY
  • Between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.(5/4/07)- 4 Brookline Place

    At the above time and location, the victim reported that her wallet was stolen while she was working as a hostess at Bertucci’s Restaurant. The victim stated that the wallet had been in her purse along with her cell phone and date planner, but only the wallet was taken. The purse had been kept under the hostess counter near the front of the restaurant.

  • Between 5:20 and 5:35 p.m. (5/9/07)- 730 Commonwealth Avenue

    At the above time and location, the manager at Radio Shack had observed the suspect leaving the store and heard the security alarm sound. At this time, the manager noticed a scanner was missing from the area the suspect had been. She yelled for the suspect to return to the store. The suspect walked to the sidewalk, out of view, and then returned. He stated that was no longer beeping and left again, eventually getting into a vehicle operated by another male. The suspect was described as light skinned black male, twenties, approximately 5’10”, heavy build, wearing a light blue jean jacket, light blue polo shirt, dark pants, with short/shaved hair. The driver of the vehicle was described as dark skinned male, thirties, wearing a red striped polo shirt and a do-rag.

ASSAULT

  • Occurred at 10:19 a.m. (5/9/07)- 156 Lawton Street

    At the above time and location, two students had a verbal argument and had gotten into each other’s faces. The individuals were separated. One of the students was put into an office. When the second student was brought in to talk about the argument, he attacked and punched the other student. He will be summonsed into court for Assault and Battery.

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 12:00 a.m. (5/8/07)- 545 Chestnut Hill Avenue

    Keith Bennett of Allston was arrested for a default warrant for shoplifting.
BURGLARY

  • Between 7:00 p.m. (5/4/07) and 10:00 a.m. (5/7/07)- Codman Road

    The victim reported an attempted B&E of an outside tool shed. There were small pry marks on one of the doors.
LARCENY

  • Between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. (5/8/07)- 21 Station Street

    At the above time and location, the victim’s bicycle was stolen from the garage located at her place of employment. The victim had not locked the bike. The bicycle was described as a gray twenty-one speed mountain bike with a front black bag attached to the handle bars and a gray/blackish bag on the left side of the rear tire.
  • Between 5:44 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. (5/3/07)- 479 Harvard Street

    At the above time and location, $200 in $1 dominations was taken from the manager’s office at the Pita Pit. The office is located in the basement of the building and had been left unlocked. Security cameras show a suspect entering and leaving the office. The suspect was a male, approximately 6’0”-6’2”, wearing white pants, a white t-shirt with writing on the front, white sneakers, a white jacket wrapped around his waist, and a dark colored baseball hat. The manager stated that the back door of the building is open for delivery drivers and it appears that the suspect might have used that door to gain access.

Crime Report (5/8/07)

ARRESTS


  • Occurred at 6:11 p.m. (5/5/07)- 35 Shaw Road

    Andrew McCollum of Michigan was arrested for being a Fugitive from Justice and for Willful Violation of a Town of Brookline By-Law, soliciting without a permit. McCollum had been allegedly selling magazines for the company, Strictly Business, Inc.

  • Occurred at 7:18 p.m. (5/5/07)- Hammond Street/Boylston Street

    Omar Taylor of Alabama was placed under arrest for Not being Duly Licensed. During the finger printing process of booking, it was revealed the Taylor had provided the police with a false name (alias Timothy Moore). Taylor was charged for providing the false name and also for a fraudulent license.

  • Between 12:55 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. (5/6/07)- 1100 Boylston Street

    Anton Miles of Boston was arrested for Operating after Suspension. Lee also received a citation for speeding, giving a false name to a police officer (alias David Lee), furnishing a false name and SS# after an arrest during the booking process, forgery, and uttering. Miles was also arrested for outstanding warrants.

  • Occurred at 2:09 p.m. (5/6/07)- 1469 Beacon Street

    Vibeke Gonzalez of Brookline was arrested sexual conduct for a fee. Police had discovered an exotic ad on Craigslist.com. An investigation of the ad resulted in the arrest of Gonzalez.

  • Occurred at 1:37 a.m. (5/7/07)- Cypress Street/East Milton Road

    Kevin Diggs of Dorchester was placed under arrest for operating without a driver’s license. Diggs was additionally received a citation for a red light violation.

LARCENY

  • Between 5:45 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (4/30/07)- 115 Greenough Street, B.H.S.

    At the above time and location, the victim had left his cell phone on the school bus. When the victim’s father later called the phone, a man by the name of “Carlos” answered. The cell phone service has been suspended.

  • Between 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. (5/4/07)- 40 Webster Street

    The victim reported that she had left her watch on a coffee table located inside her room at the Courtyard Marriott. When she returned to the room, the watch was missing.

  • Between 10:00 p.m. (5/5/07) and 1:33 p.m. (5/6/07)- Pleasant Street

    At the above time and location, the victim’s Trek mountain bike was taken from the rear of his residence. The bike had been unsecured leaning up against the side of the apartment building. The bike was described as approximately five years old and had was black with white lettering.

  • Between 4:45 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. (5/6/07)- University Road

    At the above time and location, the victim reported that her son’s wheelchair was missing from the garage. A witness had observed a white male, thin build, with black hair going up University Avenue toward Beacon Street with a wheelchair.

  • Between 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. (5/7/07)- 1309 Beacon Street

    The victim reported that her wallet was stolen from her while she was shopping at Trader Joe’s. She stated that while she was grinding coffee a tall, black male reached over her right shoulder and then placed his other arm around her left side (near her pocketbook) to grab a loaf of bread. As she walked away she felt tug on her bag. The victim thought nothing of the incident until she went to purchase her items and her wallet was missing.

B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Between 9:00 a.m. (5/3/07) and 8:30 a.m. (5/4/07)- Forest Street

    The victim’s unlocked motor vehicle was broken into and approximately $5 in spare change was taken.

  • Between 9:30 a.m. and 9:40 a.m. (5/5/07)-Welland Road

    A witness had heard the window of the victim’s vehicle smash and observed a suspect running away from it. The suspect was described as a male, light skinned black or Hispanic, thin build, wearing a dark blue t-shirt and possibly jeans. The owner of the vehicle confirmed that a Finedrive portable GPS system had been stolen.

  • Between 6:00 p.m. (5/4/07) and 10:35 a.m. (5/5/07)- Alberta Road

    The victim’s two unlocked motor vehicles had been broken into. The suspect had taken approximately $5 in loose change and attempted to remove the dash mounted GPS system from one vehicle. The suspect had gone through the glove compartment of the other vehicle, but nothing was taken.

  • Between 10:15 p.m. (5/4/07) and 7:00 a.m. (5/5/07)- Alberta Road

    The victim’s two unlocked motor vehicles were broken into. A Cannon Digital camera, Motorola radio, and approx $5 in loose change were taken from one vehicle. Nothing was taken from the second vehicle, but the suspect had gone through the glove compartment.

  • Between 7:00 p.m. (5/4/07) and 7:00 a.m. (5/5/07)- Alberta Road

    The victim’s unlocked motor vehicle had been broken into, but nothing was taken or damaged. The suspect had gone through the glove compartment.

  • Between 2:45 p.m. and 3:20 p.m. (5/6/07)- 1300 Boylston Street, Healthworks

    The passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle had been smashed and a backpack was taken from the front seat. The backpack had contained a wallet, one debit card, a book, a checkbook, and assorted personal papers.

  • Between 1:45 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. (5/6/07)- Boylston Street

    The rear window of the victim’s motor vehicle was smashed and a black nylon diaper bag was stolen.

MALICIOUS DAMAGE

  • Occurred at 1:35 a.m. (5/5/07)- Boylston Street

    At the above time and location, the lower right corner of a window at Liner Tire was smashed. It appears that the damage could have been caused by a small object.

  • Occurred at 3:57 a.m. (5/5/07)- Feneno Terrace

    At the above time and location, the suspect had set fire to his ex-girlfriend’s belongings in the rear parking lot. The items included shoes, clothing, and papers.

  • Occurred at 2:32 a.m. (5/6/07)- 1048 Commonwealth Avenue

    A front plate glass at The Wilderness House had been shattered. A search of the area revealed pieces of a blue porcelain mug. It appears that this object had been thrown at the window.

  • Between 7:30 a.m. (5/5/07) and 5:30 a.m. (5/6/07)- Juniper Street

    At the above time and location, the rear window of the victim’s vehicle was smashed. A broken Corona beer bottle was retrieved from the vehicle.

  • Between 9:00 p.m. (4/26/07) and 5:30 a.m. (4/27/07)- Kent St, Parson’s Field

    At the above time and location, the caretaker of Parson’s field noticed multiple instances of malicious damage. Four pads that lined the fence appear to have been slashed. A pad on the left side of the field that had the “N” cut out of it. The Husky emblem in the middle of the field had its eye painted and there picture of male genitalia drawn on the turf near the Husky’s mouth. There was also damage to the turf near the fifty yard line.

  • Between 11:00 p.m. (5/5/07) and 1:00 a.m. (5/6/07)- Babcock Street

    The front door window of the apartment building had been smashed. It appeared that two large rocks were used to smash the window.

  • Between 10:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (5/3/07)- 367 Harvard Street

    The victim reported that while working at the above address, she had observed a group of youths from the Devotion school throwing rocks at the vehicles parked on Stedman Street When the victim went outside she discovered that there was a small dent on her front passenger door and that her hubcap had been cracked.

  • Between 3:50 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. (5/7/07)- Highland Avenue/Pond Avenue

    The victim reported graffiti on the field house walls and doors at Downes Field. The graffiti consisted of the following words: truth, zyro, bagel, pda, sec, and wep. The tags were written in black and white.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

  • Between 5:30 a.m. and 8:07 a.m. (5/5/07)- Goodnough Road

    At the above time and location, the victim’s 1998 Mercedes was stolen from his driveway.

ASSAULT

  • Between 9:25 p.m. and 9:35 p.m. (5/5/07)- 205 Beverly Road

    At the above time and location, a group of six (6) individuals had prearranged a meeting at the Baker School park to “settle a score”. The group had intended to wrestle. The plan had been for four of them to pair up while the two others refereed. However, all six individuals became involved. One of them was punched in the mouth and ran off. He called the police because he was worried about leaving one of the other individuals behind. All parties involved will be summonsed to a Clerk’s Hearing for Assault and Battery.

Crime Report (5/4/07)

ARRESTS
  • Occurred at 1:28 a.m. (5/3/07)- Cypress Street/Boylston Street

    Zoë Robertson of Charlestown was arrested for Operating Under the Influence of an Intoxicating Liquor. Robertson was observed swerving back and forth on Boylston Street traveling at approximately 30 mph. She was unable to complete one field sobriety test, and refused to submit to any more.

  • Occurred at 2:34 a.m. (5/3/07)- Harvard Street/Babcock Street

    Amish Patel of Dorchester was placed under arrest for a default warrant for failure to appear. Patel had run through a red light after officers had observed him accelerating away from them.

MALICIOUS DAMAGE

  • Between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. (5/1/07)- Beacon Street

    Three iron rods attached to hydrants along Beacon Street were damaged. The rods had been bent over.

  • Occurred at 9:45 a.m. (5/3/07)- 1180 Beacon Street

    The cement light of a parking meter had large cracks on the bottom of the post resulting in extensive damage.

LARCENY

  • Occurred at 4:40 p.m. (5/3/07)- 1317 Beacon Street, Trader Joe’s

    The suspect was seen concealing multiple items on his person and then leaving the store without paying. A store employee had followed the suspect, and he was later detained by an officer. He will be summonsed to court for shoplifting.

  • Between 12:00 p.m. (4/30/07) and 12:36 p.m. (5/2/07)- Monmouth Street

    At the above time and location, the victim’s license plate was taken off her motor vehicle.

BURGLARY

  • Between 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. (4/30/07)- Cypress Street

    At the above time and location, the victim’s residence had been broken into. It appears that the suspect had used a large screw driver to force open the rear kitchen window. The suspect targeted the bedroom and took jewelry from a jewelry box.

GRAFFITI

  • Between 9:00 a.m. (3/5/07) and 10:13 a.m. (5/3/07)- 18-20 Winslow Road

    The victim reported that he had started noticing graffiti around the area of his home approximately two (2) months ago. The barrel and dumpster behind his residence were the most recently tagged.

ARRESTS

  • Between 1:30 a.m. and 2:35 a.m. (5/2/07)- 362 Clyde Street

    Police observed Rey Fulcar of Boston, driving a motor vehicle with a flat front left tire. As the officer attempted to pull Fulcar over, he began to accelerate, reaching approximately 60 mph in a 25 mph zone. Eventually the flat tire began to shred off the rim. When Fulcar made a left turn onto Newton Street his tire hit the curb and retaining wall, causing damage to the front of the vehicle. The vehicle came to a stop and Fulcar excited. He then fled toward Clyde Street. A foot pursuit ensued, but Fulcar was eventually detained and placed into handcuffs for failing to stop for a police officer. The owner of the vehicle Fulcar had been operating was contacted, and he informed the police that he had not given Fulcar authority to take the vehicle. An inventory search revealed kitchen knife, a screw driver, and other burglarious tools. Fulcar ultimately received citations for Failing to Stop for a PO, Operating to Endanger (Negligent), Unsafe Lane Change, Speeding, Red light Violation, Failing to Wear Seatbelt, Receiving Stolen MV, Possession of Burglarious Tools, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon (Knife), and Resisting Arrest.

  • Between 4:36 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.- 229 Washington Street

    Sharon Surprise of Brookline was arrested for Shoplifting. Surprise had taken a pair of white colored fake pearl earrings off the display in Sona Bella. The owner of the store had asked her to return the earrings, but Surprise left the store. Shortly thereafter, police arrived.

LARCENY

  • Between 4:00 p.m. (4/26/07) and 12:00 p.m. (4/30/07)- 1682 Beacon Street

    At the above time and location, the victim discovered two prescription pads had been taken from the unlocked file cabinets in his examination room (dentist’s office).

  • Between 7:30 a.m. (1/15/07) and 11:52 a.m. (5/2/07)- 23 Monmouth Street

    At the above time and location, a twelve foot down spout copper pipe was stolen from the side of the First Parish Church.

B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Between 7:00 a.m. (4/25/07) and 4:07 p.m. (4/26/07)- Clinton Road

    The victim’s vehicle had been entered, items moved, and two rolls of toilet paper taken from the trunk. The vehicle had not been locked.

  • Between 7:00 p.m. (4/28/07) and 8:12 a.m. (4/29/07)- Prince Street

    All four tires of the victim’s vehicle were stolen. The victim had alarm on his vehicle, but it never was never activated during the theft.

Crime Report (5/2/07)

ARRESTS
  • Occurred at 5:39 a.m. (4/30/07)- Pleasant Street
    Jose Nascimento was arrested for Rape and Indecent Assault and Battery on a child under 14 (domestic incident). He was also charged with displaying explicit material to same. It was determined that the incidents had been occurring for the past three months and happened approximately 18 to 19 times. Nascimento had reportedly threatened to shoot or choke the victim if she told anyone of the incidents. A request for additional charges of Threats to Commit a Crime and Intimidation of a Witness has been made. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

  • Occurred at 5:07 p.m. (5/1/07)- 294 Harvard Street

    Laura Nisby of Brighton was arrested for two counts of Shoplifting. Nisby had stolen $446.39 worth of merchandise from CVS and $106.95 from GAP. During the time Nisby had been in CVS, an employee observed her putting items into CVS gift bags. Nisby left the store without paying. A chase ensued involving Nisby and two CVS employees. She was eventually detained by officers on Beacon Street.

  • Occurred at 8:55 p.m. (5/1/07)- Hammond Street

    Lindsay Fink was arrested for an alleged Domestic Assault and Battery. Fink and his wife had been arguing in his vehicle outside of the MET Club. His wife reported that during the argument, Fink had hit her and smashed her head against the car window. There were two witnesses of the incident, but neither saw actual contact between the two individuals.

B&E&L OF MOTOR VEHICLE

  • Between 10:00 p.m. (4/12/07) and 7:30 a.m. (4/13/07)- St Paul Street

The victim reported that a Handicap Placard had been stolen from her unlocked motor vehicle.

  • Between 6:00 p.m. (4/30/07) and 7:00 a.m. (5/1/07)- 57 Rangeley Road

The victim’s vehicle had been unlocked and someone had entered through front driver side door. The glove compartment and center console had been opened, but nothing was taken.

BURGLARY

  • Between 4:45 p.m. (4/30/07) and 9:30 a.m. (5/1/07)- Roberts Street

    At the above time and location, the victim’s apartment had been broken into. The point of entry appeared to be the side window located in the living room. A Casio Elixim digital camera was taken from the victim’s bedroom dresser.

MALICIOUS DAMAGE

  • Between 10:25 a.m. and 11:40 a.m. (5/1/07)- 1 Brookline Place

    At the above time and location, a vehicle had fled the parking garage without paying and damaged the gate. The driver of the vehicle felt that she was being overcharged for parking in the garage and refused to pay the amount being asked. She had lifted up the gate herself, causing it to break, and then drove out. Using the description of the vehicle, the suspect was later found and advised that she was no longer welcome on the property of 1 Brookline Place.

LARCENY

  • Occurred at 7:15 p.m. (5/1/07) 1317 Beacon Street

    At the above time and location, the loss prevention officer at Trader Joe’s had observed a female suspect place several food items in a black plastic bag and exit the store without purchasing the items. The suspect was brought back into the store and the bag was emptied. She was given a verbal no trespass order to all Trader Joe’s.

FRAUD

  • Between 3:00 p.m. (4/23/07) and 3:00 p.m. (4/30/07)- Winthrop Road

    The victim reported that his debit/card had been used fraudulently numerous (11) times. He believes that he did not get his card back after using it at the Boca Grande Taqueria.

GRAFFITI

  • Between 7:00 p.m. (4/28/07) and 9:00 a.m. (4/29/07)- 75 Park Street, rear

    The victim reported that the side of his building along with his door had been spray painted. The tags included: “TANS”, “TANS-PDA”, “PRYD”, “RYSE”, “CODE”, “BAGEL”. “TANS” and “PRYD” were new. The other tags had been made over the past four months. A search of the area revealed that the side of an adjacent building and dumpster had also been spray painted.

  • Between 7:52 a.m. (4/29/0/7) and 7:52 a.m. (5/1/07)- 73 Park Street

    The victim reported that someone had spray painted graffiti on the side of the building.
