October 11, 2019

At approximately 9:20 AM Officers met with a resident on Harvard Street to report a past larceny. Once on scene Officers met with the reporting party who informed Police that she had left her purse in the bathroom at work.  When she returned to retrieve it was not there. The purse contained currency and gift cards which were now missing. Police are investigating.

October 12, 2019

At approximately 8:46 AM Officers were dispatched to Commonwealth Avenue for a report of a shoplifting. Once on scene Officers spoke with the loss prevention agent on scene who told police the following: He observed the suspect enter the store with a opened backpack and approach the electronics section. The suspect then placed a Fitbit and smartwatch into the opened bag and closed it, then proceeded to the exit. Before he could exit he was confronted by loss prevention and he fled the store ditching the backpack in the store. Police are investigating.

October 13, 2019

At approximately 8:00 PM Officers were dispatched to Netherlands Road for a report of a stolen bicycle.  Officers met with the reporting party who told police he had seen his bike at approximately 1:00 PM on his front porch unlocked.  When he returned at around 5:30 PM the bike was missing and presumed stolen. Police are investigating.

At approximately 1:15 PM Officers were dispatched to Clark Road for a report of a larceny from a vehicle. On arrival officers met with the caller who told Police that around 12:30 PM he went to his vehicle and found the driver’s side door opened and items were missing from the glove compartment and center console. Police are investigating.

October 9, 2019

At approximately 8:04 PM Officers were dispatched to Linden Street for a report of a suspicious person peering into a windows. Once on scene Officers made contact with an individual matching the description.  The person began giving police an excuse for his actions stating that he owns property on the street, but was unable to give an address.  After a brief investigation it was discovered he had two warrants for his arrest and was taken into custody.

At approximately 9:36 AM Officers were dispatched to Webster Street for a report of a past larceny. Once on scene, Officers met with the reporting party who told Police the following: They had left their hotel room to run an errand.  On their way out they stopped by the front desk and requested their room be cleaned.  When they returned to the room they noticed a "Do Not Disturb" sign hanging from their doorknob, this was odd because they did not put it there.  As they entered the room they noticed their luggage had been rummaged through and some jewelry was stolen from a suitcase. Police are investigating.

At approximately 8:57 AM Officers were dispatched to South Street to serve an arrest warrant on a wanted suspect who was being released from the Hospital. The suspect was wanted on two warrants out of Dorchester and was placed under arrest without incident.

September 30, 2019

At approximately 6:56 AM Brookline Police along with the Boston Police Fugitive Unit responded to Woodbine Street in Roxbury to serve an arrest warrant on a wanted suspect. The suspect had active warrants out of Brookline, Dorchester and Malden for multiple felonies. The suspect was located by Police and was placed under arrest.

October 2, 2019

At approximately 6:04 AM Officers were dispatched to Harvard Street for a report of breaking and entering of a business during the early morning.  Once on scene Officers met with the managers who told them the following; the first employee arrived at work and found the side door to the building ajar.  After going inside and checking the office, the store’s safe was found open and emptied. In the side alleyway near the compromised door, a latex glove was discovered. Police are investigating.

At approximately 7:09 PM Officers were dispatched to Commonwealth Avenue for a report of a larceny. Once on scene Officers met with the reporting party who told police that he had placed his backpack containing his wallet and other personal items in an unlocked locker at a gym and proceeded to continue his workout, during his workout he received text messages from his bank informing him of potential fraudulent charges. After seeing these messages he went to his backpack and found his wallet missing. Police are investigating.

September 27, 2019

At approximately 11:40 AM Officers were dispatched to Beacon Street for a report of a shoplifting. As police arrived on scene they were flagged down by the reporting party who brought their attention to the suspect who was emptying his backpack full of stolen merchandise into a shopping basket in an attempt to return the stolen goods. The store manager informed police that he recognized the suspect from a past unreported shoplifting. The suspect was placed in handcuffs and arrested for the shoplifting.

September 28, 2019

At approximately 2:07 PM a Brookline resident came to the front desk to report a past larceny from his vehicle that occurred around the 21st of September. The reporting party explained to police that he had parked his car in the rear of his building on Longwood Avenue, and then retrieved it on the 22nd at approximately 9AM. While driving he noticed a pair of binoculars missing, he then withdrew money from an ATM when he noticed 350.00 dollars missing from his account. A representative at the bank was able to find an image of a check that was fraudulently cashed using his checkbook. After this he realized that he was indeed missing his checkbook that was located in his glove box. Police are investigating.

September 29, 2019

 At approximately 2:45 PM Officers were dispatched to Pond Avenue for two reported crimes that happened at approximately the same time. The reporting party told police that she was on a run around the Emerald Necklace path when a group of 4-5 young males ages 12-15 rode by on bicycles and slapped her on the buttocks. After this assault, the victim screamed and said she was calling the police which caused the suspect(s) to flee.

Further down the Emerald Necklace path these same suspects rode past another female victim. One of the suspects distracted the victim by waving a hand close to her face, while another one of the suspects, who matched the description of the male who committed the assault snatched her cell phone from her hand. Police are investigating.

At approximately 12:34 PM Officers were dispatched to Harvard Street for a report of a recent shoplifting. Once on scene, Officers met with store employees who informed police what had happened. Employees noticed an individual conceal merchandise in a black backpack and then exited the store. Once the suspect exited the store he was confronted by an employee and told to return into the store and wait for police. The suspect returned into the store where he emptied the stolen contents of his bag on the floor and ran out of the store. Police eventually saw the suspect on the street and made contact. The suspect was then placed under arrest and booked at headquarters.

At approximately 8:13 PM Police Detectives served an arrest warrant for a stolen bicycle.  The wanted party was located at a known homeless encampment near the Boston University Bridge. With the assistance from the Boston University Police and a Massachusetts State Trooper, the suspect was located and placed under arrest without incident.

At approximately 11:27 AM Beacon and Kent Street, Officers observed a vehicle with defective equipment. After checking the operator’s license status it was discovered that the driver had a warrant for his arrest. The operator was arrested without incident.

At 12:40 PM Officers were dispatched to Columbia Street for a report of a stolen bicycle. Once on scene officers met with the reporting party who told police that their bicycle was stored unlocked under their front porch and that now it was missing. Police are investigating.

September 19, 2019

At approximately 5:15 Officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident that resulted in a roll over on LaGrange Street. Once on scene Officers spoke with the drivers and witnesses of the crash who all gave the similar accounts. Vehicle 1 was hit by vehicle 2 in the right side and caused the car to flip and roll over three times. No serious injuries were reported, and the driver of vehicle 2 was issued a citation for failure to yield at an intersection.

September 17, 2019

At approximately 8:00 AM officers responded to a report of a fight between two dogs on Brookline Avenue. The reporting party stated he was with his dog off leash at a park when dog "Went after" his dog over a ball, and left a cut on the dogs left shoulder.  Both dogs are up to date on all vaccinations and a citation was issued to the owner of the aggressor dog. 

At approximately 7:33 PM Officers were dispatched to Commonwealth Avenue for a report of a shoplifting in progress. The suspect reportedly had ran out of the store with the merchandise prior to police arriving on scene.  Once on scene officers searched the surrounding area and discovered a person matching the description.  Contact was made. Officers observed the man appeared out of breath as if he was just running.  After some questioning, the man admitted to stealing from the store. He was then placed under arrest for shoplifting.

At approximately 6:35 PM Officers were dispatched to School Street for a report of a past larceny. Once on scene Officers met with the reporting party who told police that they had moved in mid August and still had unpacked boxes left over from the move. In these boxes was a jewelry box containing expensive jewelry which was noticed missing by the reporting party. Police are investigating

September 12, 2019

At approximately 9:54 PM Officers were dispatched to Beacon Street for a report of shoplifting that recently occurred. Once on scene Officers spoke with the supervisors who were working that day. They informed Police that they observed a suspect in his late twenties seen placing items in a large white bag, then leaving without paying for the items. Police are investigating.

September 13, 2019
At approximately 2:00 PM while conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Beacon Street, an Officer saw an individual who matched the description of a wanted person.  This sighting was put over the radio so Officers could be on the look out. A short time later an Officer saw a subject matching the above description and attempted to stop him.  The suspect complied and was placed under arrest. The subject was wanted for a warrant out Rhode Island. 

September 14, 2019

At approximately 5:45 PM Officers responded to a call of a report of multiple individuals smoking marijuana in a parked car behind a business on Washington Street. Once on scene officers detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana.  Officers made contact with the individuals and advised them that it is illegal to consume marijuana in public. While identifying the occupants, one of them was identified as a person who had a warrant out for his arrest. The individual was arrested and the other occupants were issued citations for bylaw violations for consuming marijuana in a vehicle.
September 15, 2019

While on patrol at approximately 2:57 AM Police were dispatched to Beacon Street for a report of a larceny in progress. Once on scene Officers met with the reporting party who told police that he witnessed three (3) individuals using what appeared to be an electric angle grinder to cut a chain off a locked moped. The suspects were successful in cutting the chain but were unable to take the scooter and left the scene. Officers towed the scooter for safe keeping and to further investigate.

At approximately 3:41 PM Officers responded to a report of smoke in a building on Addington Road. Members from the Brookline Fire Department arrived on scene and made their way into the building.  They observed smoke in the hallway.  Fearing for the safety of the resident, the firefighters made entry in the apartment. The source of the smoke was from food in an oven that had been left unattended.  The resident of the apartment returned home shortly after and was informed of the situation.  No structure damage was reported.

At approximately 12:54 PM Officers were dispatched to Coolidge Corner for a report of a shoplifting that had just occurred.  Once on scene officers met with the manager who told police that a person wearing a black backpack had entered the store and stole multiple articles of clothing then exited out the front entrance. The suspect was not located.  Police are investigating. 

At 7:03 PM Officers were dispatched to Saint Mary's Street for a report of a stolen bicycle. Once on scene Officers met with the reporting party who informed them that at approximately 6:00 PM he parked his bike in the rear of the building to make a delivery. He stated he did not lock the bike. He returned to the area approximately 20 minutes later and realized the bike was gone. The reporting party and police searched the area but could not locate the bike. Police are investigating.

At approximately 8:30 PM Officers were dispatched to Amory Street for a report of a stolen moped. Once on scene, Officers met with the reporting party who told police that his moped was on the sidewalk attached to a stop sign at the corner of Amory and Dummer Street at approximately 10:00 AM. The reporting party told police that they then went to work. When they returned at approximately 8:30 PM the moped was missing. Police are investigating.

At approximately 9:23 AM Officers responded to a report of a stolen bicycle on Beacon street. Once on scene Officers met with the reporting party who informed police that they had locked his bike up to a short pole at approximately 9:30 the night before. The next morning the reporting party returned to collect his bike and found it was missing. Officers are investigating.

September 7, 2019

At approximately 9:14 AM Officers responded to Sewall Avenue for a report of breaking and entering of a vehicle. Once on scene Officers met with the reporting party who told Police that at approximately 9 AM they entered their vehicle and noticed their belongings had been moved and that the panel for the fuse box on the divers side was off and laying on the floor. Officers are investigating.

September 8, 2019

While on patrol at the intersection of Marion street and Beacon Street, Officers observed a grey sedan failing to maintain lane and then going down the wrong direction of travel down Marion Street. After seeing this, a BPD Officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. After speaking to the driver police asked if the diver had anything to drink tonight to which they replied yes. Police then began field sobriety tests on the driver who failed all of the tests and was unsteady on his feet throughout the entire stop. Because of the failure to maintain lane, going down the wrong way on a road, and the failure of the sobriety tests the driver was placed under arrest and booked for DUI. When Officers attempted to cuff the suspect he began to resist and pull away from Officers attempting to cuff him. He was eventually cuffed after being taken to the ground and brought to the police station.

At approximately 5:30 PM Officers were dispatched to Beacon Street for the report of a stolen bike. Once on scene Officers met with the reporting party who told police that he had left his bike unlocked, leaning against a tree and went into a store. While in the store the reporting party was alerted by another patron that someone just stole his bike. The reporting party began to chase after the suspect. The reporting party was able to flag down a Boston University Police Officer who attempted to help him locate the bike. The bike was equipped with a GPS tracking device and after a brief search was found dumped in a nearby alleyway. The reporting parties’ saddle bags (which were attached to the bike) appeared to be mostly undisturbed; however a large amount of cast was missing.  Police are investigating.


September 4, 2019

At approximately 9:46 AM Officers were dispatched to Green Street for the report of a past breaking and entering to a motor vehicle.  Officers met with the reporting party who informed police that he parked his car on September 2nd and went to work.  He returned to his vehicle on September 4th and noticed his glove compartment open and the contents emptied onto the passenger seat.  Police are investigating.

At approximately 10:54 AM Officers responded to a report of a stolen package on Pleasant Street. The reporting party stated that they had received a notification from Amazon showing that their package had been delivered, but there was no package found. Police are investigating.

At approximately 4:10 PM Officers responded to several reports of a tall male, wearing maroon pants and white T-shirt walking on Walnut Street throwing fireworks at and near people. Upon arrival Police made contact with a man who matched the description. The man then became aggressive and irate and began shouting and swearing at police.  He refused to stop and answer any questions.  Officers attempted to quell the situation by advising the man the reason for stop but he continued to yell and swear, and refused to cooperate with police. A witness then identified the man as being the same man who was setting off fireworks moments before. The man was then placed under arrest for Disturbing the Peace, Disorderly Conduct, Possession of Fireworks and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (box cutter).

September 3, 2019

At approximately 10:00 AM Officers responded to a report of a man threatening people with a knife and screaming on Babcock Street. Once on scene officers observed a person matching the description. The suspect told police that he had put the knife in his car. Officers spoke with multiple witnesses who gave matching stories of what transpired. The witnesses told police that the suspect was swearing and yelling and threatening to kill them. The suspect was then placed under arrest for 4 counts of Assault with a Danger Weapon and possession of a Class B substance.
August 30, 2019

At approximately 11:00 AM officers responded to a call for a report of a larceny from a building on Beacon street. Officers met with the reporting party who informed police that at approximately 10:30 AM they were doing a routine check of the front foyer and mail room of the building when she noticed a package that was left there and appeared to have been open. The owner of the package was advised.  Police are investigating.

August 31, 2019

At approximately 8:40 AM a resident came into the police station to report a car break that occurred the night before. She informed the officer that she had parked her car in her driveway on Jamaica Road and left it unlocked. At approximately 8:00 AM the reporting party went to her car and noticed her purse open and the contents spilled on the passenger seat. The victim had a credit card and a very small amount of cash stolen from her purse.

At approximately 11:44 AM Officers responded to a report of a bat in a residence on Crafts Road. Officers met with the reporting party who told police that at 11:30 AM they discovered a dead bat under the bed. It was unclear how long the bat was there, or how it died. The reporting party has a Labrador dog that is suspected of killing the bat. The dog is up to date on rabies shots and the bat was taken to the Massachusetts State Laboratory to be tested.

At approximately 11:20 AM Officers responded to a call of a larceny on Egmont Street. Once on scene Officers spoke with the reporting party who informed the police that they had hired movers who arrived at the home at around 10 AM to remove carpet. Once inside 2 of the 3 movers asked the reporting party to show them where the dumpster was located out back, while one of the movers remained indoors to "Do paper work". After the movers left the home, the reporting party noticed that his wallet that was left on a desk had approximately $500 stolen from it. Police are investigating.

At approximately 9:30 PM an Officer was working a paid detail on Washington Street, when he was approached by three individuals who reported that one of the three were pick pocketed. They explained that they were walking on Boylston Street when an unknown person bumped into the victim. They thought nothing of it and continued walking until the victim noticed his wallet was missing from his jacket pocket. The victim then attempted to catch up to the suspect, who was now walking in the opposite direction. The victim then chased the suspect over a fence, MBTA railroad tracks and then up a fire escape. The victim was able to recover his wallet. Police are investigating.


August 27, 2019

At approximately 10:59 PM officers responded to a report of a stolen motor scooter on Columbia Street. The reporting party told Police that they had left their scooter chained up with a protective tarp over. The reporting party stated that the scooter was last seen by a roommate at approximately 6 PM. Police are investigating.

At approximately 9:12 AM a Brookline detective noticed an individual matching the description of a wanted person enter a store on Harvard Street. Additional officers responded and located the individual confirming it was the wanted person and placed him under arrest. The suspect had one active warrant for Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime and was listed as a missing person by Boston Police.

At approximately 2:15 PM officers responded to a business on Commonwealth Avenue for the report of shoplifting. The caller stated that loss prevention employees had stopped a person who they caught shoplifting. Once on scene officers met with the suspect and placed him under arrest. The stolen items were recovered.

A Brookline resident entered the Police station to report mail that was stolen off her front porch on Washington Street. The reporting party told police that she received an email from Amazon informing here that her package had been delivered, but the package was missing when she returned home. Police are investigating.

 August 23, 2019

At approximately 2 AM Officers were dispatched to a report of an assault in progress on Fuller Street. An Uber driver got into a physical altercation with one of his passengers after an argument over a missed turn got physical. The driver and one of his two passengers exchanged punches while the third removed himself from the situation. Both the driver and the passenger were charged with assault and battery. 
***Local Business Burglary Alert*** 

On 8/20/2019 A Restaurant Located on Washington Street was broken into and robbed. The method of entry was by forcing open the side window. Once Inside the suspect emptied a cash register located in the main area of the restaurant. The suspect also targeted the office and a safe.  After the safe was forced open contents were taken.

Sometime early Friday morning  8/23/2019  a restaurant located at Harvard Street was broken into and robbed. The suspect gained entry to the restaurant by forcing open a basement door. Once inside the restaurant the suspect targeted the safe located in the office. The suspect took the entire safe from the office and exited the building.

August 20, 2019

At 8:13 AM Officers were dispatched to a restaurant on Washington Street for a report of a Breaking and Entering of a building with larceny. Once on scene officers spoke with the reporting party who stated that he had arrived at work at 8:00 AM and noticed that the cash register in the restaurant had the cash drawer removed and all of the money was missing. The office also was broken into and the business’ safe was pried open and the money stolen. In total over $3,000 in cash in unaccounted for. Police are investigating.

At approximately 10:00 AM a resident came into the police station to report the theft of his bike from Summit Avenue. The reporting party told police that he had locked his bike in the rear of his building where multiple other bikes park. Police are investigating.

August 19, 2019

At approximately 9:50 AM officers were dispatched to Beacon Street to a report of multiple stolen bicycles. Once on scene, Officers spoke to the reporting party who stated that at approximately 9:45 AM he observed a man take a bike from a street sign on Beacon Street, this same man returned minutes later and took a second bike. A third bike was left partially attached to the sign by a cut cable lock. Police are investigating.

At approximately 12:45 PM Officers responded to a call of a stolen bicycle on Walnut Street. Once on scene officers met with the reporting party who informed police that last time she saw her bicycle was on August 14th when the bike was on her back porch. When she returned to the back porch on the August 16th it was missing. Police are investigating.

August 17, 2019

At approximately 6:00 PM a resident came into the police station to report a theft of her handbag. The reporting party stated that at 5:10 PM she was at a workout facility on Harvard Street when she noticed her purse was taken from an unsecured cubby hole. The reporting party was notified of fraudulent charges on her credit card and was advised to contact the credit bureaus of her banks to report the incident. Police are investigating.   

August 18, 2019

Officers were dispatched to a restaurant on Beacon Street for the report of a stolen purse. The reporting party told police that she sat at a table near the entrance and her purse slung over the back of her chair. At some point she noticed her purse was missing and asked the manager to review the security camera footage. Upon review, the security footage showed the suspect entered the restaurant and removed the purse from the back of the chair and then proceeded to the restroom. The suspect then exited the building. The reporting party was advised. Police requested a copy of the camera footage from the business.

August 13, 2019

At approximately 12:09 PM an Officer was working a paid detail near Brookline Village and was approached by an unknown person. This person was not wearing a shirt or shoes and was inquiring where the closest attorney’s office was. The Officer supplied the man with the information, but was concerned for the man’s mental health well-being. The officer identified the man and discovered the he had an active warrant out of Brighton District Court. The man was placed under arrest.


At approximately 1:00 PM Officers responded to Marion Street for the report of a resident who captured a bat in their apartment. When officers arrived on scene they collected the captured bat and sent it to the Massachusetts State Laboratory for rabies testing.

August 14, 2019

At approximately 6:25 PM Officers responded to a call of a citizen chasing someone who stole his bike near the Pond Avenue and Washington Street. The bike had been stolen on Sunday and the victim recognized it as his bike. Officers were able to stop the suspect, who admitted it wasn't his bike, and it was returned to the owner. It was determine that the suspect would not be charged with a crime due to his age, cooperative attitude, lack of criminal history and the fact that the victim did not want to pursue the matter.

August 15, 2019

At approximately 2:30 AM officers responded to a bat call on Warwick Road. The reporting party stated that she awoke to find a bat flying around her bedroom. The bat was not able to be located. Due to the possibility of exposure officers filled out a rabies exposure form and advised the reporting party of the precautions she should take.

At approximately 7:00 AM Officers were dispatched to a construction site on Auburn Street for a report of stolen tools. Once on scene Officers met with the reporting party who informed Police that he had arrived at work at approximately 6:10 AM and left his bag of tools next to the back door of the site and left to find a parking spot. When he returned around 6:20 AM his tools were missing. Police are investigating.

At 5:10 PM a citizen came into the police station with a suspicious metal box that was discovered on Winchester Street. The box had writing on the side that said "Open Me". The box contained a note which read: "Today fortune strikes. You've found yourself lucky enough to come across this box. You can keep the treasure it holds." This box was empty, but ones like it have been found containing money. It appears to be part of a global "social experiment" and boxes like this have been found in other cities in the United States and around the globe.

At Approximately 4:25 PM Police were dispatched to Park Street to a report of graffiti on a property. Once on scene the reporting party lead Officers to the rear of the property and showed them a yellow spiral painted onto the wall. Officers took photos of the graffiti and a follow up is planned.

At approximately 5:54 PM Officers were dispatched to Leverett Street to a report of a bat in a residence. Once on scene Officers met with the reporting party who informed police that she was putting on her shoes, and when she put her foot into one of the shoes she felt an animal, that she identified as a bat hiding in her shoe. The bat was captured and sent to the Massachusetts State Laboratory for rabies testing. 

At 9:52 PM Officers responded to a report of a dispute at the Village train station. Once on scene officers attempted to separate two parties who were having a verbal altercation. While attempting to keep the parties apart, one of the suspects pushed past police, swatting an officer’s arm away. Officers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person. After repeated failed attempts to identify and get the suspect to cooperated with police he was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct, Assault and Battery on a Public Official and Resisting Arrest.

At approximately 8:30 AM police were dispatched to Brook Street for a report of a bat in a home. Officers made contact with the reporting party, who told police that she saw the bat flying around in her house when she woke up. The bat was captured and transported to the Massachusetts State Laboratory to be tested for rabies.

August 7, 2019

At approximately 11:45 AM Officers were dispatched to Codman road to take a report of a larceny from a residence. The reporting party met with officers and informed them his lawnmower had been stolen over the weekend. The lawn mower was left outside of the garage and was the only thing reported stolen. 

August 8, 2019

At approximately 3:20 AM Officers responded to a report of a large tree down across the road on Heath Street from last night’s storm. The tree damaged fences of surrounding property. Brookline Forestry and the Department of Public Works removed the tree from the road a short time later. 

At approximately 3:00 AM a bat entered home, the next morning theA Brookline resident found a dead bat in their home. The body of the bat was found in the house near two pet cats. The bat was submitted to the State lab for rabies testing and both cats were up to date on their rabies vaccinations.

August 2nd, 2019

At approximately 6:42 PM officers were dispatched to the Driscoll School for a report of three teenage males breaking windows at the school. When officers responded to the call they met with the reporting party who called who showed officers pictures that he had taken of the three teens. Shortly after showing police the pictures, BPD found three teenagers walking up evens Road who matched the description. All three teens were stopped and read their rights. The teens were in possession of a small user amount of Marijuana, and admitted to police that they had just smoked. 

The teens were then released to the custody of their parents after being summonsed to court for vandalism and possession of marijuana as a minor.  

August 3rd, 2019

On July 3rd at 9:39 AM Police were called to Harvard Street for a shoplifting that had just happened. When Officers got on scene they spoke to the manager who told police that a young male had just been in the store and was wandering the store for several minutes. The suspect then grabbed bottles of soap, underwear, socks and some shirts before running out the back door and fleeing on a bike. 

Pictures of the suspect from security cameras have been passed onto law enforcement.

August 4th, 2019

At approximately 6:22 PM Officers were dispatched to Stearns Road for a report of a stolen vehicle. When on scene the reporting party told police that they had parked on the street before seeing a movie, and when she returned after seeing the movie her car was missing. Officers checked to see if there was a record of the car being towed, and found no record. The car was reported stolen and police searched for any security cameras that had a view of where the vehicle was parked.

July 29th- 30th

July 29th, 2019

On July 29th at approximately 5:42 PM Officers were dispatched to Beacon street to respond to a report of a stolen bicycle. When on scene Officers spoke to the reporting party that informed BPD officers that he had locked his bike in the rack in front of his residence in the days prior but noticed it missing and reported it stolen to police.

The reporting party is working with management to get security camera footage and the case will be followed up on by the Detective Division.

July 30th, 2019

On July 30th, Officers responded to a report of a break-in in progress at Brookline High school. Custodians reported seeing a person climbing into the school through a window and yelled at the person to stay out. The person then took off running towards Cypress street. The person was eventually spotted by police after a description of the individual was sent out and he was stopped and eventually placed into handcuffs and taken back to the station.

The suspect is a juvenile who is known to BPD, and was released into the custody of their parents and subsequently summonsed to court.

At approximately 11:50 AM Brookline Police responded to a report of an altercation between two dogs at Buckminister Road. The reporting party stated that they were walking their dog past a friends house and saw someone sitting on the stoop of the house around a corner with only their feet visible. Thinking that it was the reporting party's friend, they approached the person and rounded the corner to discover an unknown person with their dog who sat down to take a rest. The two dogs then got into a scuffle and one was bitten by the other.

Both dogs were registered in Brookline and were up to date on their vaccinations, because of this and the fact that both owners decided it was just an accident, no citations were issued. However the dog that bit the other dog was subject to a mandatory 10 day precautionary quarantine.

Officers responded to a report of a stolen bicycle on University Road. The reporting party informed police that they had last seen their bicycle locked up in front of their home at 8:30 PM. When they had returned to the area around 9:15 PM the bike was missing. Police are investigating.

Sunday July 28, 2019

Officers responded to a report of a disabled motor vehicle on High street. The vehicle was stopped on a steep incline. The driver informed police that he was experiencing what appeared to be a transmission issue and could not move the vehicle. The driver put the vehicle into “park” exited the vehicle, the vehicle then began to roll downhill. The rolling vehicle then bumped into a police cruiser, preventing it from going further down the hill. There was no damage to the police cruiser.
