Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle: 09/24/2013 at 6:06 p.m. – Searle Ave.
An officer was dispatched to Searle Ave. after receiving a report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the victim who stated his vehicle had been scratched on the driver’s side door.
Sector 1
Larceny: 09/24/2013 at 2:56 p.m. – Beacon St.
An officer was dispatched to a business on Beacon St. after receiving a report of a larceny. The officer was met by the store’s owner, who stated she saw a woman take a sweater from the store and place it in her bag. When she confronted this woman, she dropped the bag she was carrying and fled the store. The suspect was described as an African American female with a thin build, wearing a yellow shirt, black pants, and a black leather jacket. A search of the area revealed no suspects.
Fraud: 09/24/2013 at 3:15 p.m. – Elba St.
An officer was dispatched to a residence on Elba St. after receiving a report of internet fraud. Upon arrival, the victim relayed the following: She had received a phone call from a male who acted as though he had serviced her computer in the past. She allowed the caller to have remote access to her computers, which he accessed for approximately three hours. The caller then asked her to fill out a payment form, which she did before later becoming suspicious of the transaction. She then discovered several unauthorized transactions on her credit cards.
Sector 2
Larceny: 09/19/2013 at 12:00 a.m. – Toxteth St.
While on the desk, an officer received a report of a past larceny. The victim reported that his bicycle was stolen between September 18th and 19th from the front hallway of his apartment building.
Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle: 09/19/2013 at 5:30 p.m. – Beacon St./ Borland St.
An officer received a report of past Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle. The victim stated that while her vehicle was parked on Beacon St. someone scratched her driver’s side from the rear door to the front quarter panel.
Attempted Robbery: 09/23/2013 at 9:28 p.m. – Parkway Rd./ Brookline Ave.
Several officers were dispatched to the area of Parkway Rd. and Brookline Ave. to receive a report of attempted robbery. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated she had been attacked on her way home from work. The victim stated she was approaching her vehicle when she noticed a tall, African American male standing near her car. As she neared the vehicle the suspect said something to her and then grabbed her from behind and attempted to pull her in the direction of the Muddy River. At this point, a passing motorist stopped his vehicle and attempted to assist the victim. The suspect fled towards the river and dove in and was carried downstream according to the witness. A search of the area revealed no suspects.
Burglary: 09/24/2013 at 3:09 p.m. – Parkway Rd.
An officer was dispatched to a residence on Parkway Rd. after receiving a report of a burglary. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the victim who stated he had arrived home to find the front door of his apartment pried open. An inventory of the apartment revealed two digital cameras, a camcorder, and an IPad had been taken from the apartment.
Larceny: 09/25/2013 at 12:00 p.m. – Borland St.
An officer was dispatched to Borland St. to receive a report of larceny. The officer was met by the victim who stated she left her bike unlocked in her driveway for several hours. Upon returning home, she saw her bicycle had been taken.
Sector 3
Larceny: 09/24/2013 at 10:33 p.m. – Beacon St.
Several officers were dispatched to Beacon St. after receiving a report of a larceny. Upon arrival, they were met by the victims who stated they were sitting at the bar of a restaurant when two, highly intoxicated females sat next to them. Shortly after their arrival, one of the victims noticed her cell phone was missing which had previously been sitting on the bar. The victims confronted the two women, who began to act suspiciously and tried to leave the bar. The victims attempted to reason with them and asked they simply return the phone, at which point the suspects got into their car and attempted to leave the area but were unable to get the car to start. The victims then called the police, who arrived minutes later. The arrival of the police prompted one of the suspects to return the victim’s cell phone. Both suspects were placed under arrest for Larceny. Further investigation revealed one of the suspects had two prescription drugs on her person which were not in her name. She was additionally charged with Possession of a Class E Drug.
Larceny: 09/25/2013 at 12:12 p.m. – Harvard St.
Several officers were dispatched to a business on Harvard St. after receiving a report of larceny. The store manager stated he had been dealing with a regular shoplifter, who stole items from the store then attempted to return the stolen items. The officers were informed the suspect was currently in the store attempting to return several stolen items. Officers approached the suspect and asked to speak with her. The suspect provided several false social security numbers before attempting to flee the scene. Officers pursued the suspect on foot and were able to overtake her. The suspect was placed under arrest for shoplifting and obstruction of justice.
Sector 4
Larceny: 09/14/2013 at 7:57 p.m. – Cypress St.
While on the desk, an officer received a report of a past larceny. The victim stated she had been expecting a package containing several pieces of jewelry. She eventually became suspicious that the package had not yet been delivered. She questioned her concierge about the package, who stated several days prior two individuals had gained access to the lobby and stolen several packages. A review of video surveillance showed two African American males each wearing hooded sweatshirts take the packages and quickly exit the building.
Operating After Suspension: 09/25/2013 at 1:40 a.m. – Harvard St.
An officer observed a vehicle that did not have its passenger side headlight illuminated. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. A query of the driver’s information revealed he had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating After Suspension.
Sector 5
Larceny: 09/24/2013 at 11:30 p.m. – Fisher Ave.
An officer received a report of a past larceny. The victim stated he accidently left his wallet in the cafeteria of his school. Realizing his mistake, the victim returned to find the wallet had been taken. The victim reported an unauthorized charge was made on his credit card before he was able to cancel it.
Larceny: 09/17/2013 at 3:00 p.m. – Sumner Rd.
An officer was dispatched to Sumner Rd. after receiving a report of a past larceny of a bicycle. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the victim who stated she left her bike unlocked on her front porch. She noticed it missing several hours later.
Sector 8
Warrant Arrest: 09/20/2013 at 5:30 p.m. – Boylston St.
A random query of a vehicle’s information revealed the owner had a warrant out of Lowell District Court. An officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. The operator was confirmed to be the owner of the vehicle and was placed under arrest.
Sector 9
O.U.I.L.: 09/22/2013 at 11:53 p.m. – Hammond St.
An officer observed a vehicle driving erratically, crossing double lines and nearly hitting another vehicle. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Hammond St. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer could detect a strong odor of alcohol emanating from inside the car. Furthermore, the officer observed the operator to have glassy, bloodshot eyes as well as slurred speech. The operator remained largely unresponsive throughout the interview leading the officer to the conclusion that he was under the influence of alcohol. The operator was placed under arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor.
