B&E Motor Vehicle: Occurred on 2/6 between 6:30 PM and 1:45 AM- High St.
Two vehicles were broken into in the same time frame and vicinity on High St. Sometime between 6:30 PM and 1:45 AM, somebody smashed windows on the vehicles and removed a GPS unit from both cars.
OUIL: Occurred on 2/6 at 5:40 PM- Boylston St.
A green Ford was traveling on Harvard St. with defective equipment. Officers conducted a traffic stop on Boylston St. The vehicle matched the description of a hit and run accident that had been reported earlier in the day, and the rear bumper was hanging off the body of the vehicle. Upon reaching the driver’s window, officers could smell an odor of liquor emanating from the vehicle. The operator’s eyes were bloodshot and glassy, and he was slurring his words.
Based on the observations, the driver was placed under arrest and was charged with OUIL and other offenses.
Burglary: Occurred on 2/6 between 8:30 Am and 4:15 PM- Verndale St.
A Verndale St. resident reported a Breaking and Entering. There were obvious pry marks and damage to the front door. The master bedroom had been rummaged through, and several items were reported missing.
Arrest: Occurred on 2/6 at 1:30 PM- Harvard St
A motor vehicle was traveling on Harvard Street with an expired inspection sticker. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Harvard St. A query of the operator revealed that her license was suspended. The driver was placed under arrest and issued a citation for Operating after Suspension and Operating with an Expired Inspection Sticker.

Police Reports 2/3-2/6
Shoplifting: Occurred on 2/3 at 7:06 PM- Beacon St.
A Trader Joe’s employee reported a shoplifting incident. The employee stated that she identified a subject placing items into personal bags and later leaving the store without paying for the items. The subject could not produce a receipt for the items in the bag. The subject was placed under arrest for Larceny Over $250.00.
Burglary: Occurred on 2/3 at 8:30 PM- St. Paul St.
A St. Paul Street resident reported a Breaking and Entering. The victim stated that she returned to her residence to find a window in her bedroom that was forced open and the screen pushed in. Residents reported several items stolen from bedrooms.

A vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed on Lee St. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Newton St. Upon reaching the driver’s window, the officer could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. The driver’s eyes were bloodshot and glassy, and he was unsteady on his feet. Based on the observations, the operator was placed under arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor and Speeding. The operator’s license was confiscated and subsequently destroyed.
Assault: Occurred on 2/6 at 12:06 AM- Beacon St./ Washington St.
An officer was traveling on Beacon Street when he observed a fight involving multiple people at the intersection of Beacon and Washington Street. The officer witnessed a male subject wrestling with, and pushing people onto the MBTA tracks. Upon seeing the officer, several males ran on Beacon Street towards University Road. The subject whom the officer saw fighting ran south on Washington Street, crossing Beacon. Four additional individuals remained in place at the corner. The officer chased the subject and was able to apprehend him in the right travel lane of Beacon St.
The four individuals who had remained on the corner stated that they were assaulted by several males, including the male that the officer had apprehended. A description of the suspects was relayed to other police units, and two male parties were stopped on University Road. The victims identified the parties as being involved in the fight.
The victims stated that they had been walking along Beacon St. when the suspects started to accost them regarding the Super Bowl. The victims stated that the suspects charged at them and began to physically attack them. All three subjects were placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. One party was additionally charged with assault and battery.

Police Reports 2/2-2/3
Burglary: Occurred on 2/1 between 11:00 PM and 6:30 AM- Pond Ave.
A Pond Ave resident reported a breaking and entering. The victim stated that someone had broken into his home sometime between 11:00 PM and 6:30 AM. The suspect broke a first floor window to gain access to the home. It appeared that the suspect went through all three floors of the residence while the occupants were still asleep. Several items were reported stolen from throughout the residence. The victim noticed that the front door was slightly ajar, and there were muddy footprints throughout the house.
Burglary: Occurred on 2/2 between 3:15 and 4:30 PM- Beacon St.
A Beacon St. resident reported a Breaking and Entering and Larceny. The victim stated that she left her apartment at 3:15 PM and returned around 4:30 PM. When she returned, she noticed that the front door was unlocked and the door leading to the fire escape was open. The victim reported several items to be missing from the residence.
Burglary Attempt: Occurred on 2/2 8:00 AM and 5:15 PM- Washington St.
A Washington St. resident reported an attempted residential breaking and entering. The victim stated that when he arrived home, he noticed the window in his office to be pushed open, and the outside screen had been cut. It does not appear that any items were missing from the house.
B&E Motor Vehicle: Occurred on 2/2 at 8:00 PM- Stedman St.
A vehicle was broken into sometime between 7:20 PM and 7:55 PM. The vehicle was parked in a driveway in front of the victim’s residence. The front driver's side window had been smashed out, and a GPS unit was removed from the vehicle.
B&E Motor Vehicle: Occurred on 2/2 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM- Babcock St.
A vehicle was broken into sometime between 6:00 and 8:00 PM. The car had been parked at the HRI hospital. The front passenger's side window had been smashed out and a GPS unit was removed from the vehicle.
Burglary: Occurred on 2/2 between 12:00 and 9:00 PM- Longwood Ave.
ALongwood Ave. resident reported a residential breaking and entering. The victim stated that he arrived home at 9:00 PM and immediately noticed that someone had broken into the apartment. The suspect had gained access through an open bedroom window. The victim reported several items to be missing from the residence.
Burglary Attempt: Occurred on 2/2 between 5:45 and 10:15 PM- Park St.
A Park St. resident reported an attempted burglary. The victim stated that he returned home and discovered a portion of his bedroom window to be forced open. Nothing was reported missing from the residence.

A vehicle was traveling on Route 9 in Brookline at a high rate of speed. The officer conducted a traffic stop on Rt. 9 at Elliot Ave. Upon reaching the driver’s window, the officer could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. The driver was unsteady on his feet and his eyes were bloodshot and glassy. Based on the observations, the operator was placed under arrest. He was charged with Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, Speeding, Expired Inspection Sticker, and no registration in possession. His right to operate in Massachusetts was suspended.

Shoplifting: Occurred on 2/1 at 2:17 PM- Harvard St.
An officer observed a subject exit a Harvard St. Stop & Shop walking quickly and looking over his shoulder as if to see if he was being followed. The subject was carrying a Stop & Shop basket that is supposed to be left inside the store once a standard retail transaction has occurred. Based on these observations, officers stopped the subject to investigate the suspicious activity. The basket contained merchandise from the Stop & Shop, and the subject could not produce a receipt for the items. A store employee verified the items to be stolen, and confirmed that the subject had been in the store. The subject was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

An officer conducted a traffic stop on Washington St. A query of the operator’s information revealed that the registration was revoked. The driver was issued Massachusetts Uniform Citation for Operating an Uninsured MV, Operating an Unregistered MV, and Operating after Revoked Registration. The driver will be summonsed to Brookline District Court for the same charges. The vehicle was towed and both Massachusetts license plates were seized and placed into evidence.

The officer conducted a traffic stop on Beacon St. A query of the operator revealed his license to be expired. Shoplifting: Occurred on 1/31at 9:51 PM- Beacon St./Harvard St.
Officers responded to a report of a possible shoplifter at the intersection of Beacon St. and Harvard. Officers spoke with two Trader Joe’s employees who stated that they observed a man place multiple items into a personal bag and walk out of the rear of the store without paying. The employees stated that they yelled to the man to stop, and followed him to a parking lot where they confronted him. The suspect could not produce a receipt for the items that were in his bag. The suspect was placed under arrest for shoplifting.

An officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Hammond St. and Laurel Rd. A query of the driver revealed that he had an expired license. The operator was placed under arrest and issued a citation for Operating After Expiration. The operator’s license was seized and his vehicle was towed.

Officer responded to an Alton Pl. residence to take a report of a Breaking and Entering and Larceny. When the resident returned home, she noticed obvious pry mark damage to the front door, consistent with damage from another Breaking and Entering on Alton Pl. The victim reported several items missing from bedrooms.

Officer responded to an Alton Pl. residence to take a report of a Breaking and Entering attempt. The victim stated that upon returning home he noticed that the front door was broken, with pry marks on the door frame. The damage was consistent with another house break on Alton Pl. Nothing was reported missing from any of the apartments.

Officers responded to a Summit Ave residence for a burglary report. The officers spoke with the victim’s dog walker, who stated that he had left the house, and when he returned the dead bolt was locked. The victim did not have a key for the dead bolt. The victim led officers into the house through a back door, and noticed that several items were missing from the dining room and his bedroom. The suspect appeared to have locked the dead bolt to the front door and exited out the rear door.

Officers responded to Thornton Rd for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The caller stated that there was a man sitting in a gold car acting suspicious. The officer approached the driver, who stated that he was a pizza delivery driver who had just made a delivery. A query of the man’s information revealed that his license was suspended and he had a default warrant out of Quincy district court. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating after Suspension and the default warrant.
