Aug 27th – Aug 29th Aug 27th – Aug 29th

Arrest


Occurred 4:19 PM (8/28) – Beacon St. / Charles St.


Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Upon identifying the driver, officers discovered that his right to operate a motor vehicle is Mass. had been revoked. Officers subsequently placed the driver under arrest for operating after revocation and making an illegal left turn.


Occurred between 2:01 PM (8/20) and 2:01 PM (8/27) – Hammond St.


While patrolling, officers executed a traffic stop for a vehicle operating with an expired inspection sticker. Upon identifying the driver, officers discovered that he was operating with an expired Mass. driver’s license and had an active arrest warrant. Officers subsequently placed the driver under arrest for the warrant and the above driving violations.


Occurred between 12:34 AM and 1:15 AM (8/29) – Boylston St.


While patrolling, officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and executed a traffic stop. Officers ran a query of the operator and discovered that he did not have a driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in Mass. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for being not duly licensed and speeding.


Occurred between 1:52 AM and 2:33 AM (8/29) – Cypress St.


Police observed a vehicle operating with a defective headlight and executed a traffic stop. Upon identifying the driver, officers discovered that he had three active arrest warrants and an expired driver’s license. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for being not duly licensed, operating with defective equipment and the warrants.


Larceny


Occurred between 2:01 PM (8/20) and 2:01 PM (8/27) – Hammond St.


Police responded to a report of a larceny. The victim stated that her laptop had been stolen from her residence. Detectives subsequently located the laptop at a Brighton pawn shop and found the suspect who sold it. Officers are requesting the suspect be summons into Brookline court for the charges of receiving stolen property and for larceny.


Occurred between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM (8/29) – Prince St.


Police responded to a report of a larceny of a bicycle. The victim stated that sometime while his bike was left unlocked on his front porch, an unknown suspect stole it. The bike is described as a dark blue 21 speed mountain bike with the words "Fly Bike" on the frame. Police are following up on the case.


Occurred 8:03 PM (8/29) – Harvard St.


Police responded to a report of a shoplifter at a local store. Upon arrival, officers met with the store manager who reported that he observed a black male approximately 28-33 years old between 180-200 pounds, place several bottles of fish oil vitamins inside his backpack. Police were unable to locate the subject but will be conducting a follow up investigation.


Burglary


Occurred between 11:30 PM (8/26) and 10:00 AM (8/27) – Prince St.


Police responded to a report of an attempted burglary. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting party who stated that she discovered her living room window fully opened when she woke up. She informed officers that she had left the window closed and recalled hearing noises the previous night. Officers found no signs of forced entry and believe a laptop next to the window may have been the suspect’s target.


Occurred between 9:00 PM (8/28) and 7:30 AM (8/29) – Harvard St.


While patrolling, officers discovered the front-door of a local restaurant unlocked and the upper portion of the glass door shattered. Police immediately contacted the owner of the restaurant who stated that he was the last employee to leave the previous night and had left money in both cash registers. The cash from both registers are the only items that appear to have been taken at this time. Police will be conducting a follow up investigation on the case.


Graffiti


Occurred between 3:00 AM (8/27) and 10:00 AM (8/28) – Harvard St.


While conducting a building check, officers discovered three graffiti tags on two rear walls of a school building. The graffiti was done in black spray paint. Police are following up on the case.


Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle


Occurred 6:15 AM (8/29) – Harvard St.


Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The reporting party stated that while he was walking, he observed four subjects attempt to break into numerous parked cars and break into a blue Honda. A second witness reported that she observed the same subjects enter a Grey Ford sedan. The subjects were subsequently located and found with several stolen items in their possession. All four subjects were placed under arrest and charged with breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, attempted breaking and entering, larceny, receiving stolen property and conspiracy.


Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle


Occurred between 3:25 PM and 4:45 PM (8/28) – Brookline Ave. / Parkway Rd.


Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering and larceny from a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated that when he returned to his parked vehicle, he discovered his passenger side window smashed. Items reported stolen include a grey Tom Tom GPS system. Police are following up on the case.


Malicious Damage


Occurred between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM (8/05) – Clyde St.


Police responded to a report of malicious damage. The victim stated that when she returned to her parked vehicle she found her interior lights on. She informed officers that she parked her vehicle in the same spot a few weeks prior and discovered an 8 inch scratch on the front right quarter panel of her vehicle. Police filed a report and advised the party to contact police if any further incidents occurred.


Fraud


Occurred between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM (8/26) – Goddard Ave.


Police responded to a report of a credit card fraud. Officers met with the victim who stated that two unauthorized charges had been made to her credit card. Both charges were conducted by phone with the purchased items coming from a department store in Florida and California. Police are working with the store’s fraud department and will be conducting a follow up investigation.
