3/19/2021 DAMAGE TO BUILDING - Officers responded to Egmont St. for a report of malicious damage. The reporting party returned home to discover their apartment door locks fill with hardened glue. Detectives are following up to see if there is footage in the area.

3/19/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a party that wanted to report unemployment fraud. The party was informed that someone filed an unemployment claim with their information. The party was advised to monitor their bank activity as well as contact major credit bureaus.

3/19/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a report of identity fraud where the victim shared that they received emails from an internet service provider that an account was opened under their name. They  received emails from the provider claiming that they changed their phone number and email on the account. Since the party did not open an account with the internet service provider and the phone number and emails where not theirs, they contacted police.

3/19/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a report of scam where a party claims that they received a call from Eversource threatening to cancel their services. The caller instructed that the victim must purchase gift cards and give the caller the numbers and access codes. Once the victim gave the caller the numbers, they realized that it was a scam and called police.

3/19/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a report of scam where the party was receiving emails claiming that their accounts have been hacked and they need to call the number in the email. Once they did, the caller instructed the party to purchase gift cards and provide them the access codes and numbers. Once they did so, the caller instructed them to buy more, this is when the victim realized that the situation was a scam. 

3/19/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a identity theft report where the reporting party received a package which they did not order and unauthorized charges were placed on their credit card. The party contacted police and is working to sort out the fraudulent activity.

3/19/2021 HARRASSMENT - Officers responded to Brighton Ave. for a harassments report where the reporting party stated that while on a jog, an individual approached them to ask for directions. When the party looked for directions on their phone, they looked back at the individual who then exposed themselves in front of the victim. Officers took a description of the person and advised the victim to contact police if they see the individual again.

3/19/2021 BREAK AND ENTER - Officers responded to a report of a past break and enter on Harvard St. where the reporting party heard someone knocking on their door. When they answered and no one was there, they reviewed surveillance footage and saw a subject on the 6th floor. When the party confronted the subject, they fled down the central stairway of the building and exited the building. More review of surveillance revealed the subject trying multiple doors in the building. Pry marks were also later found on an exterior door of the building. Detectives are currently following up with a description of the subject and surveillance footage.

3/20/2021 BIKE THEFT - Officers responded to Gibbs St. for a report of bike theft where the reporting party went to check their basement storage, and discovered two bikes along with a cable lock was missing. The victim reported that other residents of the building have access to the basement storage. Detectives are currently look for surveillance around the area.

3/20/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a report of fraud where the reporting party got a phone call that Eversource would be shutting off their services. The party called Eversource and the caller asked for their Social Security, name, and address. After speaking with this caller, the party called Eversource again, where they told the party that they did not recently have a phone call with them. This prompted the party to contact police.

3/20/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report where the reporting party sent money through Zelle to a person for the purpose of subletting their apartment. After not hearing anything back from the person, the reporting party contacted police. Police were able to get in contact with the person and they shared that they were not subletting any apartment in Brookline and that they have never been to Massachusetts. It appears that their personal information has been compromised.

3/21/2021 PACKAGE THEFT - Officers responded to a report of package theft on Garrison Rd. where the reporting party got a notification that their package was delivered and when they returned home, it wasn't there.
