11/22 - 11/25

O.U.I.L: 11/24/2013 at 1:05 a.m. – Boylston St./ Hammond Pkwy.
An officer observed a vehicle driving above the posted speed limit and making an unsafe lane change. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. The officer was able to detect the odor of alcohol while speaking with the suspect and her eyes appeared bloodshot and glassy. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor.

Sector 1
Larceny: 11/22/2013 at 3:39 p.m. – Commonwealth Av
An officer was dispatched to a business on Commonwealth Av after receiving a report of Larceny. Upon arrival, the officer was met by an employee who stated he observed a man attempting to leave the store with a shopping cart full of items which he had not paid for. When the employee approached the man, he fled the store. The suspect was described as male in his late 20s, slim build and wearing a black sweater with tan pants.
Larceny: 11/23/2013 at 3:56 p.m. – Harvard St.
An officer was dispatched to a business on Harvard St. after receiving a report of Larceny. The officer was met by a store employee who was currently monitoring the suspect. The employee showed the officer video surveillance of the suspect placing several items into a black duffel bag. The suspect was apprehended and placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Sector 2
Larceny: 11/23/2013 at 12:50 p.m. – Beacon St.
An officer was dispatched to a business on Beacon St. after receiving a report of larceny. Upon arrival, the officer was met by an employee who stated a woman had attempted to leave the store with a shopping cart full of flowers without first paying for the items. The woman was confronted by several employees and fled the store. All items were recovered.

Sector 3
Malicious Damage: 11/22/2013 at 6:00 p.m. – Fuller St.
Several officers were dispatched to Fuller St. after receiving numerous reports of malicious damage to motor vehicles. Upon arrival, the officers were met by the victims who returned to their cars to find their cars’ rear windows smashed. In addition to the smashed windows, several cars also had small dents. The dents and broken windows appear to have been caused by a BB gun. No items were stolen from the cars.
Larceny: 11/23/2013 at 6:41 p.m. – Harvard St.
An officer was dispatched to a business on Harvard St. after receiving a report of Larceny. The store’s Loss Prevention Officer met the officer upon arrival. The Loss Prevention Officer stated he had been disguised as a shopper when he observed the suspect conceal two bottles of cough medicine in his jacket pocket. The suspect was apprehended and placed under arrest for Shoplifting.

Sector 4
O.U.I.L: 11/25/2013 at 2:24 a.m. – Harvard St.
An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a higher speed than the posted speed limit. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. While speaking with the driver, the officer noticed an odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle. In addition, the drive’s speech was slurred and his eyes were glassy. The driver was placed under arrest for Operating Under the Influence.
Sector 5
Larceny: 11/21/2013 at 7:00 a.m. – Washington St.
While working at the front desk, an officer received a report of Larceny. According to the victim, several building materials were stolen from a job site. The materials were left outside under a tarp, when the victim returned for them the following day he saw they had been stolen.

Sector 8
B&E of a Motor Vehicle: 11/24/2013 at 2:01 p.m. – Boylston St.
An officer was dispatched to Boylston St. after receiving a report of a Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer was met by the victim who stated her driver side rear window had been smashed and several items were stolen from the car. The matter is currently under investigation.
