Sector 2
Larceny: 08/26/2013 at 10:38 a.m. – Beacon St.
An officer was dispatched to Beacon St. after receiving a report of a larceny. An employee of Trader Joes observed the suspect leaving the store with a black backpack. The employee could hear the sound of bottles coming from the backpack. When she asked the suspect to stop, he fled the scene causing her to call Brookline Police Department. The employee followed the suspect onto Beacon St. She was able to identify him to officers. A query of the suspect’s information revealed he had a warrant out of Roxbury District Court. A search of his backpack revealed several bottles of alcohol from Trader Joes along with a plastic bag containing marijuana. The suspect was placed under arrest for Shoplifting and Possession of a Class B Drug.
Larceny: 08/26/2013 at 2:30 p.m. – Beacon St.
An officer was dispatched to Trader Joes on Beacon St. after receiving a report of a larceny. The officer was met by an employee, who had been informed by a shopper of a man placing alcohol bottles into his backpack before leaving the store. The suspect was described as a white male carrying a large backpack, jean jacket, and jeans. An employee followed the suspect outside, threatening to call the police. The suspect set down the bottles and fled the scene. A search of the area did not reveal the suspect.
Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle: 08/26/2013 at 10:30 a.m. – Station St.
An officer was dispatched to the front desk to receive a report of a past Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. The victim stated she was parked on Station St. and left the car unlocked on August 22, 2013. It was not until the following day, the victim saw her commercial parking permit had been taken from the car. Nothing else was missing or disturbed.
Operating After Suspension: 08/26/2013 at 9:59 p.m. – Harvard St.
A random query of a vehicle’s information revealed the owner had a suspended license. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Harvard St. It was confirmed that the operator of the vehicle was the registered owner. He was placed under arrest for Operating After Suspension.
Sector 3
Fraud: 08/26/2013 at 10:32 a.m. – Mason Tr.
An officer received a report regarding internet fraud. The victim stated she was attempting to purchase an IPhone on Craigslist. She agreed to pay for the phone before its delivery. Once she transferred the funds, she was unable to contact the seller and still has not received the IPhone.
Sector 7
Operating After Suspension: 08/26/2013 at 4:20 p.m. – Meadowbrook Rd./ Goddard Av.
A random query of a vehicle’s information revealed the owner to have a suspended license. An officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Meadowbrook Rd. and Goddard Av. The operator of the vehicle was confirmed to be the owner. He was placed under arrest for Operating After Suspension.
Sector 8
Operating After Suspension: 08/26/2013 at 9:07 p.m. – Boylston St./ Hammond St.
An officer observed a vehicle traveling at an accelerated rate of speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Hammond St. at Boylston St. A query of the driver’s information revealed he had a suspended license. He was placed under arrest.
