Police Reports 8/27 - 8/29

 Sector 1
B&E of MV: 8/28 between 8:00pm & 12:01am - James St
Officer responded to a radio call for a malicious damage. Upon arrival, officer observed a parked vehicle with a smashed rear window. The owner of the vehicle stated a handbag and a pair of sunglasses missing. Fraudulent charges were also made to the owner’s account.

Sector 1
Fire: 8/27 at 7:34am – Beacon St
Officer, along with the Brookline Fire Department, were dispatched for a person stuck in an elevator. Victim had been stuck in the elevator for approximately 20 minutes. BFD made a entry in the basement mechanical room and was able to reset the elevator. Victim was released and was unharmed.

Sector 2
Warrant: 8/29 at 12:30am – Harvard St
Officer observed a vehicle operating with a defective taillight. A registration query revealed that the operator’s right to operate was currently suspended. Operator was placed under arrest for operating after suspension and defective equipment.

Sector 2
Malicious Damage-Auto: 8/28 at 7:00am – Stearns Rd
Victim stated that she noticed that her passenger side rear-view mirror was damaged- the mirror was missing and the encasement was hanging by a wire. She believes that it was forcefully pulled off. 

Sector 2
ID Fraud: 8/28 at 3:45pm – Alton Place
Officer responded to a report of an identity theft. Victim stated that that she was notified from the IRS that she may be a victim of identity theft. She stated that she checked her credit report and did not notice any unauthorized transactions. 

Revoked Registration: 8/27 at 11:35pm – Harvard St
A registration check of a vehicle revealed a status of revoked Insurance. Operator will be charged with Revoked Insurance, Unregistered M.V., and Revoked Registration.  

Sector 3
Larceny: Occurred sometime b/t 8/26 at 11:00am – 8/27 at 3:35pm – St Paul St
Victim reported that two of his bikes had been stolen from the basement garage of his building. Bikes were left unlocked at the rack and the garage door was left open.

Sector 4
Not Duly Licensed: 8/27 at 6:12pm – High St & Boylston St
Officer observed a vehicle making an illegal left turn onto High St. Operator had a driver’s permit and stated that she was using her friend vehicle. Operator was placed under arrest for Illegal left turn and not duly licensed.

Sector 4
Weapons Violation: 8/27 at 7:17am – Franklin St
Upon officers’ arrival, subject was observed to be holding a loaded firearm. Subject compiled with the officers’ instructions and they were then able to secure and confiscate the weapon. Subject stated he was concerned that somebody had broken into his house and came in through the skylight. There were no signs of forced entry into the house, the alarm was still set, and subject stated that nothing was missing. A registration query of the firearm serial number did not match the make and model of the firearm recovered. Officer filed for a civil fine due to possession of the firearm passed the 90 day grace period after his FID Card expired.

Sector 5
Larceny: Occurred b/t 8/21 at 2:30pm – 8/12 at – Tappan St
Victim reported his bike stolen outside of a residence on Tappan Street. Victim claimed that the bike was left locked to a pole, and when he returned, he found that the lock had been cut and his bicycle had been stolen.
